back into routine 🌱
For the last three months, I took a step back from posting to focus more on myself. Having started to work full-time recently, I neglected my personal well-being and needed kind of a reset.
Here is what I do now to feel much better about myself:
go to sleep earlier: I used to sleep about 6 hours per night. Then I read "Why we sleep" by Matthew Walker and it changed my life. Since then, I aim to sleep 8 hours per night and I feel so much more refreshed in the morning.
work out in the morning: After work, I usually feel very tired and am not at all in the mood to work out. Instead, I started working out directly after getting up in the morning and it makes me feel more energized and strong.
move my body more in general: I now go for a walk in the afternoon or in the morning on my rest days. I can think deeply on those walks, listen to inspiring podcasts, or call a friend or relative on the way.
drink more water: There were some days where I drank more coffee than water - to be honest, this just could not be healthy at all. I bought a water bottle that subtly reminds me to drink every 30 minutes and I feel so much better overall. Now I drink 2-3 litres per day!
eat more nutritional meals: I used to snack every so often and have heavy meals in the evening, leading to bloating and just not feeling very well in general. Now I have balanced meals for breakfast and lunch and simply have a nice salad in the evening. For reading, I totally recommend "The Diet Compass" by Bas Kast here!
re-evaluated my relationships: Some people make you feel good, some don't. I started spending less time with those who don't and more with those that are laughing with me, not about me.
have less screen time: Being in front of a desktop the whole workday, I simply set up a timer on my phone to spend less time on it and social media especially. This gives me more time to go out or read books!
I think that each one of those points is very important for your overall health. If you are already doing those points with ease, I am very happy for you! Keep it up and if you like, share your experience with us!

17.06.2022 ~ Can't wait for the weekend to start!
I want to get back to reading again, so I'm currently looking for some book recommendations. The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo sounds really good, and I also want to read a book on self-improvement.
What are you reading at the moment? 📖

07.06.2022 ~ Cookies make working and studying way better!
I just finished the second month of working, and I feel like I still have to get used to it. Although I already did several internships, working feels like a whole other responsibility. For this month, I want to re-establish some habits from earlier this year, like running, reading, and joining a choir.

11.04.2022 ~ Take a look at my new workspace!
If you are following me on my studygram, you already know that there was a lot going on in the past month! I handed in my thesis, moved to a new city and started my first 'real' job. I am happy, very relaxed and more motivated than ever!

Hi, what highlighter do you use? It looks so cool. ❤ also how do you keep your notes looking so clean?
Hi! First of all: thank you very much for saying this ❤️
I'm using the Zebra Mildliners, they are great for highlighting, as they don't bleed through paper and come in a variety of beautiful colors!
For my notes, I always use grid or dot grid paper - I just feel like they're looking more structured this way. And I try to keep a color code, so just use one or two colors apart from the black/blue ink of your pen. Hope this helps! 🥰

Hi love, I would be really interested in that paper from your last post - I love colour theory in psychology (though more health psychology) and would really be interested in the contrasting - or potentially intersecting marketing lens. x please will you share the DOI? x
Of course! I found it super interesting, you can find it here: https://doi.org/10.1002/mar.20597
I hope you like it, maybe it can bring you further with your own studies!

Book of Henry! It takes place in autumn and it is both so heartwarming and heartbreaking. If you haven't seen it already, I'd definitely recommend it 🎞️

29.09.2021 ~ I received my master thesis topic today! My topic for the following five months will be the importance of brand colors. ✨
It's a super broad topic, but on the bright side I can choose the specific area of research and subtopics that I want (if there are any research gaps to be filled of course).

In Germany, the new semester starts at October 1st, so I thought it would be a great time to share the experience I gained during my last five years of uni.
Feel free to add your own pieces of advice! ✨
Create a (broad) overview of the classes you want to take at the very beginning of your studies. Look up during which term a class will be taught (summer or winter) and what the coursework will consist of (exam, oral exam, essay etc.). Also, find out the scores of the last years of these courses.
Ask yourself about whether you want to do a semester abroad or an internship during your studies and prepare for it as soon as possible. Look up important dates for information sessions.
Find at least one or two trustworthy people per class that you can rely on if you need any help.
Don't feel obliged to do anything you don't want to just because your peers are doing it (concerns every area of a student life).
Make use of the benefits you get as a student. Visit museums and theaters for half the price, sign up for discounts (looking at you, Asos and Amazon Prime) and use that semester ticket for trains and buses.
Always keep a reusable bottle of water with you.
Actively listen during lectures! I feel like the more you listen, the more you understand the context in which different topics are placed in and how they are connected.
Have a way to write down important dates - whether it is a planner, a bullet journal or your smartphone calendar or all three.
Have a personal deadline of submitting coursework one day prior to the university's deadline.
Find your personal style of studying. Studying at uni is much different than studying in school (in my opinion)!
Enjoy your studies. Don't feel the need to study from morning to evening. Make time for friends, hobbies, traveling - whatever you desire.
