if you don’t mind me asking, what are your swiftie!marauders headcanons if you have any? 🫶🏻
Sirius's favourite album is Red
everyone thinks he likes Reputation more because he's always singing those lyrics to seduce Remus
he has a "Fuck The Patriarchy" keychain specifically for the taylor reference
James's favourite album is 1989
"Blank Space" would mysteriously come on at almost every gryffindor party and a drunk James would get on top of a table and sing for Lily (she would pitch in for "boys only want love if it's torture")
when anyone says a word or phrase that reminds him of a taylor swift song he will start singing it and he will continue until he reaches the end (or until someone stops him)
Remus's favourite album is Evermore
"willow" was played at his a Sirius's wedding (they totally got married, don't argue)
he has had to teach his friends what a word means when it comes up in a song and he sings the correct lyric while everyone else descends into nonsense
Pete's favourite album is Fearless
he knows who every song is about and what was happening during that time of taylor's life
he has told a lot of it to Remus when they were listening to her together
none of the marauders will change genders/pronouns while singing, for 3-5 (or 10) minutes they are women in whatever situation taylor has set up for them

How the Marauders Listened to Speak Now TV
Remus: Listened to the whole album in order, headphones in.
Sirius: Vault tracks, Better Than Revenge, then played the album through while doing something else.
James: Tried to listen in order but only got to Speak Now before he NEEDED to know if she changed the Better Than Revenge lyrics, went back to where he was for Dear John and Mean, paused to listen to all the vault tracks, then played the rest of the album from where he left off.
Peter: Listened in order but already found out all the changes by being interrupted by just about every Gryffindor in the whole school.
Bonus: Marlene, Mary and Lily had a little slumber party where they stayed up to listen to the whole album together with snacks, live reactions and reviewing the "lore" of the songs (Marlene convinced them to start with Better Than Revenge, but otherwise it was in order)

The Weight of Water
Pandora Lovegood and Regulus Black have always been best friends. Well, ever since their very first train ride to Hogwarts Witchcraft and Wizardry. It’s always been a surprising friendship given the dynamic between the Black family's “perfect” reputation and the Lovegood family’s... lack of such. However, children don’t often care about reputations and everyone would quickly learn separating these two would be more trouble than it was worth.
Life for the first five years of their friendship would be quite predictable. Regulus lived in the Slytherin dorms and Pandora the Ravenclaw, as custom to all students of different houses, but they were seen together nearly every spare hour they had. Sometimes they were actually speaking, but usually they were both silently reading, completing homework, or taking turns beating the other in wizard chess.
Something changed in their fifth year of school. Pandora had always known about Regulus and his brother’s... unpleasant home life, and was always open to listening when Regulus needed someone to talk to.
“Apparently, Sirius and his quiet friend have been… dating since some time last year, and mum found out over break,” Regulus explained, “and you know she isn’t really supportive so um… he’s… gone.”
“What do you mean he’s gone?” Pandora stares into her best friend’s teary eyes. “Is he okay?”
“I don’t know where he is, but anywhere has got to be better than home. You know, they aren’t even looking for him.”
Pandora stares at Regulus, wanting to ask why no one would be looking for the Black family’s heir. Their mother had made it quite clear he would be the only option. Though before she’s said anything it seems Regulus already knew what she was thinking.
“Well, she’s decided I’m her only son now. After Sirius left to who knows where, mum’s finally calling me my name.” Pandora reaches across the empty space between them to swipe away the tear that’s fallen onto Regulus’s cheek.
Regulus has known he was transgender since even before Pandora met him. She’s been around to hear so many of his rants about how he can never be accepted by his family. But now, between gasping breaths, Regulus tells her how much it hurts to finally be their son now, only because they have chased one out of the house. Soon he isn’t speaking at all, just being held by Pandora- the only one who’s allowed- and crying into her jumper. She can feel the weight of his tears pressing down on her heart, knowing one day it will crack and shatter for this man.

Neville Longbottom could never find anyone who would listen to him talk about plants. His friends were always either too busy or simply did not want to hear it.
One day he decided to record his knowledge, hoping it would find someone who wanted it. Thus started his podcast "Rants about Plants" and even though each episode only had one viewer, he was glad to have someone listening.
He was beyond happy when he found someone who would listen in is real life. His good friend, Luna Lovegood. She didn't just tolerate his excitement either, but shared it, even if she didn't know much.
And though Neville now had Luna, he still recorded his rants for that one viewer.
Luna didn't mind listening twice.

When I say I like Neville Longbottom, I do not mean when he got fit in the latter movies. I mean I find year 1-4 of Neville super adorable and would love him just as much if he didn't have the glow up that everyone mentions when they agree they also like Neville.
I liked him in the books when he was a dorky & chubby boy and I'd like him if he stayed that way the whole series.
I could listen to that man talk about plants for hours if he were only real.

a background hp christmas headcanon because this happened at least once
(Assuming wiards don't celebrate Christmas the same as muggles, since to them, the story of Santa would just be an old man breaking into family homes) A first year muggle-born tried asking older students if Santa was going to be able to find them at Hogwarts. They received a lot of confused "No, of course not," and "No one can find you at hogwarts, don't worry," from pureblood students. The confusion only grew when this upsetted the first year farther. Eventually the students found an older muggleborn student to comfort the distressed kid.

i 100% agree w you on peeves! he even recognizes remus and teases him (calls him loony loopy lupin and, in harry's words, he's the only teacher peeves treats like that. tho remus manages to one-up him this time), him and the marauders def had a tira y afloja relationship. maybe an unofficial rivalry lol
Absolutely they have something of a rivalry going on.
Peeves might even do a marauders level prank if they've been a little too quiet, and taunt them as they are punished for it.
"See? I can do what you 4 brats do without lifting a finger."
There's also definitely a score, Peeves vs Marauders. As much as the marauders say they don't care when they are "losing", they rub it in Peeves face when they are one trick ahead, and he'd float away mumbling something like "it's 4 against 1, not a fair fight at all.."

'Peeves the Poltergeist' was one of my favourite Harry Potter characters and should show up in more fanfiction.
Especially marauder era fanfics because I'm sure James, Remus, Sirius, and Peter would have to be wary of Peeves seeing them because they would have no idea whether he would try messing the prank up or if the poltergeist would be on their side, distracting teachers.
They have been betrayed just as many times as they have been assisted by Peeves the Poltergeist.

A fic idea I had but don't have the patience to make it long enough to turn out well:
Harry and a Cedric have a crush on one another and the rest of the golden trio try to push Harry to talk to him but he's scared of being rejected since he'll still have to see Ced a lot throughout the tournament and in the halls. Eventually Harry lets Hermione ask a friend of Cedric's if he has a crush on anyone. They confirm that he talks a lot about Harry Potter. The Yule Ball is coming up so Hermione (and a bit Ron, though he's more occupied with questioning why everyone likes Diggory anyway) try to get closer to Cedric to suggest he ask Harry to the ball (while Harry makes up excuses for why he can't just ask Cedric himself)

Harry Potter Christmas Lists
Harry Potter - has never made a christmas list - usually just hopes for quidditch-related gifts
Hermione - books - stationary - a cute sweater she saw recently (includes the shop, her size and a detailed description of the sweater)
Ron - sweets - a pretty girlfriend (always puts it on his list, and never gets one) - Chudley Cannons merch
Luna - as a kid (after the accident) wrote "mom" because she was told "just write down what you want" - at hogwarts, still writes names of friends - people think it might be a way to wish their safety over the holidays but no one's sure - her friends get her sweets and pictures of them having fun together with her
Neville - plants (names specifics and sketches what they look like with arrows of key features to identify the correct plant) - books about plants - asks his grandmother for his father's childhood favourite sweet and brings a bit to his parents every christmas

"Oh no.." Neville stared at his snake plant that had gotten knocked off his bedside table.
You saw what happened and immediately jumped off your bed to help. "Don't worry, we can save it, I have a spare pot right here," you said, taking the pot from your own bedside, which had recently been home to a plant of your own. Before Neville could even start helping you, you were placing the plant into the new pot.
"What is it's name, by the way?" you asked, while trying to scoop the soil off the floor and into the pot.
"It's what?" Neville asked, falling back to reality with a look of confusion.
"You don't name your plants??" You asked, pausing for only a second to return Neville's confused expression. "The magical world gets weirder every day..." You had placed the plant back on the table and now sat on Neville's bed, staring between him and the plant.
"What's a good name for a plant?" Neville asked, sitting next to you.
"Well, whatever you want, Nev! What does it look like to you?"
"Um... it looks like the snake plant you brought me back from last week's holidays?"
"So... You thinking a Christmas name?" You asked, squinting at the plant.
"Yeah! Maybe... Holly?" He thinks for a second, "No, that's already a different plant..."
"No! I like that. Holly is nice," you said, nodding your approval.
"Oh, okay... Holly it is!" He said, excitedly.

Headcanon: Luna has depression, but doesn't like talking about negative emotions and pretends to be happy even when she's not. She doesn't tell anyone because she doesn't think they would believe her since she always looks cheerful.
Neville has anxiety and downplays it a lot, trying to act like it's not as bad as it is. He never says he has anxiety when talking about it, because it looks like he's just a nervous and jumpy person. "Being a coward doesn't mean you have anxiety"
One day, the class they share is supposed to go on a class trip. This stresses them both out and when the day comes, neither is having a good day at all.
They don't tell each other what's going on, or why they feel the way they do. They spend the whole day together, feeling themselves grow closer in their shared misery. Somehow, the trip wasn't as bad as they thought it would be. Knowing they weren't alone in the darkness.

In the forest, Neville heard a lovely tune that sounded eerily familiar. He followed the faint sound as it grew louder, leading him to a clearing in the trees, where he found the source. A beautiful girl, long blond hair draped over a guitar, was playing for a few birds who chirped along from low branches of the nearby trees.
Neville watched quietly, not wanting to disturb her. He started to hum softly, trying to name the song.
Eventually, the girl stopped playing and Neville turned to leave. He stepped on a twig, and the sound made the girl's head jerk up.
"Hello?" She looked around, leaving her guitar in the rock she had been sitting on.
Neville stepped into the clearing with a nervous wave to the girl. "Sorry, I just heard your music, I thought I had heard it before."
That was when he noticed something new about the girl he had been watching. She had wings parting her long hair as it fell down her back. She was a fairy.
"I'm fairly certain you have," the fairy replied, "it's quite a common lullaby." She ignored the shock on the boy's face as he stared at a new part of this beautiful girl.
It took a minute for him to form a response. "It's usually played on piano," he said, finally recognizing the song from his childhood.
"It is, though a piano is harder to explain being in the middle of the forest," she said, "what is a young man like yourself up to in the middle of the forest?"
"I was only gathering a few things," he said, holding a bag of mushrooms, herbs, flowers, and various other findings. He wondered if she would be upset at him taking from her forest.
"Oh, well now that you are here," she paused, "do you play piano?"
Neville shifted his weight from one foot to the other. "Yeah, I do. My grandmother taught me," he said.
The fairy girl didn't say anything as she walked over to the trees, stopping to look back at Neville when he didn't follow.
The fairy led them both to a piano overgrown with forest plants, though Neville could swear it hadn't been there moments before.
The girl started the same song on this new instrument, stopped a few seconds in, hinting for Neville to continue.
He did, he played a piano in the forest for a fairy he didn't know by name, playing a song he hadn't played in years.
He didn't miss a note, his fingers taking over for what his brain had forgotten.
As the song came to an end, he wished the artist had added another bar to play. Instead he sat in the eerie silence that surrounded him and the peaceful girl who didn't seem to take notice.
"What's your name?" She asked, "I'm Luna."
Neville's attention felt as if it snapped back to the girl, though his thoughts had never drifted from her sparkling grey eyes. "My name is Neville," he said.
Luna smiled. "I must go now, Neville. But if you ever come back to this part of the forest, I do hope we meet again."
Neville took only a moment to smile at the forest floor but when he looked up, the fairy was gone along with the piano he played minutes ago.
For the rest of his life, he would tell this story, of the beautiful fairy called Luna and how he would go gathering near that clearing, singing the same song, in hopes she would hear him.
He never once doubted it, even as he died with his daughter, Luna, crying over him. He met a fairy as a boy, named Luna, and she was as beautiful and mysterious as the moon.

(There's not much of an ending but I thought it would be nice to write being friends with Colin Creevey)
"Potter! Can I get a picture?" You ask, holding up a camera to Harry's face, trying to get a good angle before he's even answered.
"That camera belongs to that Creevey kid, doesn't it?" Ron says, "Why do you have it?"
"No reason... Harry?" You look at Harry, giving the best pleading look you can.
"Fin-"
You snap a few pictures before he can even finish and rush away.
"Thanks, Potter!" You yell behind you.
When you find Colin, he looks excited. "Did you get it?" He looks at the camera, as you promised to get a better picture than the ones he'd been taking.
"It's a bit better, don't you think?" You ask, figuring it's not the best you could have done.
"It's great! Thanks, y/n!" The first year smiles at you. With the camera still in hand, you quickly take a picture of the smiling boy.
"That's going up on my wall for sure!" You say, looking at it.
"What? Did you take a picture of me?!" Colin freaks out, trying to see the camera. You hold it above your head but give it back a few seconds after he reaches for it.
You aren't entirely sure why, but you start to catch Colin taking pictures of you when you're minding your own business, mainly reading or studying.
One night, when you are walking with Colin, he stops to show you something in the viewfinder of his camera. You never get to see what he was looking at.
You wake up near the end of the school year, June, apparently. As you listen to the story of what happened that year, you can't help thinking it was more unbelievable than anything you had heard in your previous year in the wizarding world. But you did get to open Christmas presents and birthday presents on the same day.
On the last day of school, you and Colin make promises to keep in touch over summer with your owls.
~~~
The next year, you listen while Colin rants about Harry and how he hopes they catch Sirius Black before he gets hurt. He suffers through your rants about how cool the new DADA teacher is.
"How did he even get out of Azkaban? Isn't that place supposed to be impossible to escape?"
"I found a picture of him when he was a student here... no you can't see it! But he didn't look half bad..."
Like the year before, the first couple months of school, Colin was almost taking as many pictures of you as he was of Harry Potter.
On Christmas, you got an owl from Colin while you were with your family. You opened it and finally found out why he had taken so many pictures of you. It was a book of most of the pictures, and one was framed, the picture of him smiling that you had taken the year before.
There were pictures of you reading, studying, one or two of you in the middle of throwing something at the camera (you weren't always in the mood for a hyper kid to come up and take pictures of you). Some were taken by Denis of both you and Colin, you remembered most of these. Needless to say, you loved your gift.
When you returned to Hogwarts, the framed picture took it's place on your nightstand and you hugged Colin tight the first chance you got.
"Thanks, Colin. I love it!"
Your gift to him was a small kit for developing photos, so he could do it easily at school and wouldn't have to wait for school breaks.
This lead to the both of you sitting on the floor of the boys dorm making a collage of the famous Harry Potter. Since it wasn't too difficult to develop the photos, you even drew a heart on some of the really nice pictures Colin had.
~~~
It was some time in your fourth year that everyone seemed to be dating, or at least fancy someone. You somehow found yourself discussing guys.
"Cedric is cute," One of the girls said.
"Yeah, I guess so," You agreed, along with the rest of the group.
"Yeah... but don't you already have a boyfriend?" One of the others asked you. If you did, this was definitely news to you.
"What are you talking about?" You ask, trying to sound a little less confused than you were.
"Oh, what's-his-name... Creevey?"
This makes you laugh and the girls look at you funny.
"Colin's like my little brother!" You explain, still finding the comment hilarious.
You started to find it a little less funny when the Yule Ball starts to come up, and you hear a cute boy in the Gryffindor common room talk about who he was taking.
"Ginny and I are just going as friends," He said, "I would have asked y/n to come with me but I think she's dating Creevey..."
"What's wrong, y/n?" Colin said, seeing you sit in the corner of the common room.
"Everyone thinks we're dating, I'll never get a date to the Yule Ball..."
Colin frowns at you, and tries to comfort you until you ask to be left alone.
The next day, Cedric Diggory came up to you.
"Hey, y/n... I heard what happened with Creevey, I guess you'll be needing a date to the Yule Ball? If it's not too soon..."
You had no idea what he was talking about, but Creevey must have done something, so you accepted the invitation and went to find your friend.
"Colin! What on earth did you do!" You yell down the hall when you spot him.
"I might have tossed around the idea that I cheated on you... act mad for a couple weeks and we can say you decided to continue being my friend." He said, smiling though he had a black eye.
"And what's with the eye?" You ask, concerned.
"People aren't fond of cheaters." He said dismissively. You hug him happily, thanking him a few more times before leaving for your next class.
