I think this appearance of Polites and Odysseus’ mom in The Underworld- bedsides the fact that they’re dead and should be there- was to tempt Odysseus into the River Styx. I think that’s what souls do to anyone who visits.
I imagine the dead crew-mates trying to beckon their alive friends into the water so they can be together again. I imagine soldiers having to physically hold their friends back from trying to jump into the river.
I imagine Eurylochus trying his best to keep Odysseus on the ship as Polites and his mother float by. I imagine Odysseus reaching out to touch them, to talk to them, anything. Trying his best to be strong- yet he can’t help but be tempted towards the water. And his crew-mates have to hold him back more than anyone else. And only after they have passed does he snap back to reality and realize how fucking terrifying the Underworld truly is.

Again thinking about the family au and about everyone thinking that Luffy is going to drive Mihawk up a wall, he drives sometimes everyone up a wall okay, he's a bit peculiar, and very loud, and do you think that Hawkeyes is the best candidate to watch over him, I mean- except that both Luffy and Mihawk are autistic so when Benn comes to pick up Luffy he finds them like. Two hours deep into a conversation about bettles that at some point crossed over to blades
In general, I can picture both their perceived weird vibes cancelling each other out? Like, Luffy's the only person who's not at least a bit unsettled by Mihawk's quiet demeanor and kind of intense eye contact. At the other hand, Mihawk doesn't bat an eye when Luffy does something really impulsive or says some non sequitur. Like yeah, they may or may not agree with the other, but they get the way the other's brain work

After watching the first two interactions of the 12th Doctor & Missy I was thinking about something.
Missy drastically changed all of her pronouns and referred to herself as "Time Lady" & "Mistress".
From the 13th Doctor & Missy we know that Gallifreyans can change genders while regenerating. That brings several ideas...
1. Gallifreyans with a gender they like most. Like, someone who was a women 5 regenerations and then became a man and is extremely bickery about it.
2. Non binary Gallifreyans. Before the regeneration, 9 said he could have no head, or 2 heads. That means there were cases of not just changing genders, but species. So what about Gallifreyans changing into "humans" with no genitalia? Like, is it a Time Lady or a Time Lord? Wrong! It's a Time Maniac!
3. No gender related... Basically nothing on Gallifrey is gender related. Except maybe clothes and interests (cue to Missy saying slaying a Dalek is Time Ladies golf). Because at any point anyone can die and change genders. How are you not gonna let a lady inside a men pub when she was the one to establish it? Before she died of heart failure.
4. Marriage will be 100% built on love. I mean, how can you marry someone when you know they can change any minute? Only if you love them so much you don't care.
5. Not about genders. Age restriction. How would it work?? Do they also have a not drinking before x years? Do they have elderly homes for people on their 12th life? If one life lasts about 1000 - 1500 years (11th Doctor spent 800 years alone after the Ponds accident, and then about 300 years on Trenzalore.), people can live up to 18000 years!
6. Conservative Gallifreyans. In Japan we already have problems with the aging nation and a lot of rules benefitting the old, now think if the old generation loves to 18000 years.
7. Child birth. If their pregnancy is like ours , 9 months, and let's say about a child a year... Gallifrey would be over populated.
Update: I have checked "looms". First off, oof. Second, that brings even more questions.

I don't know what I like the most, because at one hand I find so cute the idea of Shanks going: it's outrageous that you don't have a birthday, here take mine. From this year on we celebrate our birthday together
But at another hand I find hilarious the idea of Shanks pulling all his charm, all his carefully constructed contacts, maybe a bribe or two into finding out when it's Mihawk's birthday so he can surprise him with a present
Both because I love the mental image of Shanks going the extra mile because he doesn't need to impress Mihawk, but he's gonna, but also because I have the feeling that he'd show a lot more interest about it than about 75% of the shit Benn actually wants him to plan, much to Benn's eternal annoyance

One thing I really do love about OPLA is the focus on Garp and Luffy’s relationship. At the start, it just looked like Garp was angry at Luffy, but in reality, he was worried. He doesn’t want Luffy to be like Roger, not just because Roger was what Garp hated the most, but because he’s afraid of Luffy ending like Roger did; executed.
OPLA focuses on the emotional and parental ties between Garp and Luffy, more than so in comparison to manga/anime OP. And it’s such a refreshing thing to see too; a more dive into Luffy’s childhood that isn’t focused on Shanks or the ASL brothers. We get to see a little more into Garp’s mind too, his anger and heartbreak over Luffy.
Garp is literally Luffy’s grandfather, and he loves Luffy, but dammit they are on oppsite ends of the same string. Garp being a marine, Luffy being a pirate - the rift between them effects them both just as hard, something both of them have trouble ignoring. Just like the blood in them, stubborness runs just as much. They’re family, but at the same time, it doesn’t feel like it. OPLA does a good way of showing this

Y'all, the world is sleeping on what NASA just pulled off with Voyager 1
The probe has been sending gibberish science data back to Earth, and scientists feared it was just the probe finally dying. You know, after working for 50 GODDAMN YEARS and LEAVING THE GODDAMN SOLAR SYSTEM and STILL CHURNING OUT GODDAMN DATA.
So they analyzed the gibberish and realized that in it was a total readout of EVERYTHING ON THE PROBE. Data, the programming, hardware specs and status, everything. They realized that one of the chips was malfunctioning.
So what do you do when your probe is 22 Billion km away and needs a fix? Why, you just REPROGRAM THAT ENTIRE GODDAMN THING. Told it to avoid the bad chip, store the data elsewhere.
Sent the new code on April 18th. Got a response on April 20th - yeah, it's so far away that it took that long just to transmit.
And the probe is working again.
From a programmer's perspective, that may be the most fucking impressive thing I have ever heard.

Cody. As a 10 year old. Because ten year olds are occasionally like this. Has an imaginary friend he likes to talk to.
The trainers and his vod’e assume he’s using it as a sounding board to work out his plans and what to do next in missions, but in a ten year old way. His imaginary friend has a backstory and a name (that he does not say around Prime under any circumstances because Alpha doesn’t want him to get too much attention by saying Key Words around the trainers) and he talks out his problems with him.
Anyways. Colour them all fucking shocked as hell when one day Obi-Wan turns to Cody’s imaginary friend and greets him by his title of Master Vizsla and asks if he’s been doing well, these past years, since Obi-Wan rarely sees him these days…
Anyways. Cody thinks his imaginary friend should be allowed to vote. And maybe he should finally get into politics because his apparently force ghost imaginary friend knows a lot of blackmail on just about everyone. He could have fun with this.
