Being Steve Roger’s best friend

A/N: steve is honestly one of my favourite characters bc he is so kind and if I could be his friend in real life I definitely would! Sadly none of us can so i wrote some headcanons about what it would be like to be steve’s sweet, introverted and bookworm bff! Enjoy!

you constantly make fun of him

i mean who can blame you he’s hilarious and he doesn’t even know it

he’s also your best friend

and he’s very strict

that means no cussing, violence only when needed, pls eat and get enough sleep

basically he’s the only authority figure you have in your life

and since you’re already 25, sometimes that gets on your nerves

you love to (playfully) mock him

steve: damn!

steve: oh just shut up y/N!

you: hey! noT IN THAT TONE YOUNG MAN

steve: *rolls eyes*

steve is like a mom

no bc he literally is

when you’re going out he always carries the most absurd stuff with him

band aids, inflatable chairs, reese’s puffs (yk bc of sweets and sugar which gives you concentration and totally not because he’s addicted to them), double sided tape (adhesive on both sides cause you never know), tweezers (again you never know) and so much more

he is also the kind of friend who always listens to your problems and actually has great solutions

yk, a mom

whenever he comes over to your apartment, he randomly starts cooking something for you because he knows that sometimes you forget to eat

whoopsie

between missions and stuff things just get stressful and you don’t like to cook so you just forget about it until you get hungry

you try to hide your hunger, sneak an apple out of the conference room’s kitchen, steve notices, gets slightly angry and cooks you something

I mean, it works for you

steve is definitely the extrovert who adopted you as an introvert

steve is a really sophisticated, serious, honest, superhuman and reliable man and you’re just the shy, sweet and socially anxious bookworm also with superpowers who he drags to social events

he does not like going to parties without you

so he always begs you to go with him

and even though you HATE parties you still go with him bc how can you resist his puppy eyes

this man is good at convincing

and you always leave when you start to get overwhelmed / overstimulated

you constantly try to find steve a woman

“look, steve, steve, stEVE! you see that woman over there? Isn’t she cute?

but he just laughs and says:

“Y/N, you know I’m not looking for a relationship right now.”

“I know Steve, I just don’t want you to be alone so much.”

“I have you!”

and honestly, you’re more than enough for him <3

in a positive way of course

sure you can be annoying when you start rambling about your books but steve secretly loves it

when you go on missions, he’s always surprised about how strong and courageous you actually are

because when you’re not currently fighting the evil, you’re probably sitting on your couch reading a book and eating ice cream

preferably alone

or with steve

when you’re not doing that, you’re training, of course

but never usually with the others, you like doing it alone

otherwise you feel watched by the other avengers and you know they’re not doing that but sometimes you feel a little judged by them

bucky, natasha, bruce, sam, thor, wanda

they’re all so strong and sometimes you just feel a little weak

which you’re not

anyways since you’re always training alone steve and the other avengers never actually see how good you are

(which also makes them contemplate sometimes if they should keep you on the team because you’re always isolating yourself and only spending time with the team when needed)

so they are always very surprised on missions but also proud of you

some people assume you and steve are a couple because you’re so close

you’re often seen together

going to the theme park, getting dinner, getting ice cream, you wearing his hat, going to karaoke bars together

it could be interpreted as “very suspicious”

and the press thinks so too

but you could never be together because ew and again, steve is like your mom and you’ve just known each other so long

they just can’t deal with the fact that you’re just friends

you especially don’t like that they treat the avengers like a soap opera

whenever the press sees you in public steve just tries to shield your face or walk in the other direction

you have a ritual that you always cook or bake something together on weekends

since steve always cooks for you, you wanted to learn some recipes too in case he gets sick

which is rarely the case because he’s a supersoldier

but when he does, you are able to make some soup for him without burning the whole kitchen down

he’s also protective of you

when you’re on missions he always keeps an eye on you

he knows you can handle yourself

it’s just that he could never lose you

you’re his best friend after all

and since you’ve never really had a man in your life like a boyfriend or another guy friend or a brother

he’s very confused when sam tells him that he likes you

but he wants you to be happy so of course he plays matchmaker for the two of you

when you get married, steve is your best man of course

and you’re the one who’s the happiest for him when he goes back in time to spend his life with peggy and returns as an old man

cooking with wanda maximoff

A/N: heyy, I hope you like it and this is a bit of a shorter headcanon!

cooking with wanda is very amazing

no matter what happens, you and wanda get together every friday night to just cook

it’s a nice little ritual in your relationship

wanda taught you a lot of sokovian recipes

they’re very hard

so it took a long time for you to get it perfect

in the week, you cook, because you like to cook simple meals and wanda could never do that because she likes to cook big stuff, for example christmas and thanksgiving dinner!

at the end of the week (friday) you cook together (tell you more about that in a sec)

and during the weekend, wanda cooks and you do “wine and entertainment” as you like to call it

which is really just dancing dramatically around the kitchen to adele songs, filling up wanda’s glass of wine once in a while, setting the table in an extravagant way and rating the store-bought wines from 1-10

wanda loves it

and even though “wine and entertainment” sounds a bit lazy and like you’re leaving all the work to her, she loves to hear your little giggles and your very professional opinion on wine and which adele song is the best

so, cooking together

you’re a fantastic team

and you work really well together

mostly, you split the work

for example: someone works on the sauce and the other one cuts the vegetables etc..

you love trying new recipes from all over the world

and pimping them a little bit

you also have a recipe book of your own

and whenever you try a new recipe, you write it down in that little book, so if you like the meal, you can do it again and won’t forget how you did it

you plan on handing it down to your children, when you’ll have them

since you’re very passionate about cooking, you always want to make it look perfect and very aesthetic

you also have an instagram account on which you post the stuff you’ve cooked

it’s called “themaximoffskitchen” (since you’re married to wanda and your name is also maximoff)

you actually have a lot of followers

and they adore your recipes

sometimes, you even create your own meals and post the recipes on your instagram account

some people do find it quite weird, two avengers with superpowers, doing something as simple as cooking and posting about it on social media

but you don’t care because it’s fun

and cooking has become a very big part of your relationship

A/N: this is probably the longest headcanon I ever wrote lmao. anyways, enjoy!

first off, let me say, being in a relationship with them is always a rollercoaster.

whether it's going on a mission and not knowing if everyone of y'all is going to survive or shopping groceries with them and fighting over what you should eat for dinner

you love watching soap operas with them every night

and discussing the last episode you watched next morning at the breakfast table

"Why did Geraldine hook up with Paul though?"

"No, the real question is WHY would Paul do that to Emma?!"

you're invested

calling them "the boys" whenever you're talking about them to other people

"Yeah, the boys and I watched soap operas all night..."

"The boys forgot to buy potatoes again..."

them telling you to stop calling them that

when you ask why, they say they're your boyfriends and they want to be perceived as such and not just as some random boys in your life

So you start calling them "the boyfriends" and they love it

they're very protective of you

whenever you go on missions they always worry so much

they don't want you to get hurt

they would rather have you working a safer job, like idk teacher or something

but you argue with them that teachers are not that safe either bc of school shootings

and you're needed at your current job

when you do get hurt really badly one day they get very mad

all hell breaks loose

whoever did that is certainly gonna pay for it

After missions you usually go and get hotdogs

It's like a tradition almost

most of the time, you talk about how your little adventure went and discuss your every move, giving tips on how to do better next time

it really helps

but when y'all are not in the mood, you just sit there, eating quietly

It's really peaceful

when bucky has nightmares again and can't sleep you go for late night drives

one of you gets the fast food

the other one gets the music

and you drive around the city

you and bucky in the back seats, wrapped in blankets, looking out the mirror

and Sam in the driver's seat

after 30 minutes, bucky's usually asleep again

you and sam love to cook together

Sam learned it from his sister and you learned it from your momma

let's just say together you're a force to be reckoned with

You make the most delicious Christmas dinner and the most delicious creme brûlée and the most delicious pancakes

Bucky is so lucky to have you because that boy can't cook at all

he's always bragging to the other Avengers about the delicious food you make and how good you can cook

whenever you meet new people, you're usually inviting them over to your apartment and you and Sam cook

Bucky loves you and Sam very much

One time he overheard one of the avengers making a not so nice joke about the two of you and he was like

"Excuse me?! That's the loves of my life and my emotional support persons you're talking about"

He kicked their asses

Bucky is probably the most protective one

he's always scared he'll lose you and Sam

gets jealous pretty easily

he can be clingy, but that mostly happens at home

he's afraid to show his soft side outside of your apartment

he loves holding you

Mostly little spoon with Sam and big spoon with you

They love saying "that's my girl" or "atta girl" to you

especially when you're in the middle of a fight and you just killed that ugly alien or you saved Bucky from being kidnapped or you knocked that really tall and strong guy out

you pretend to find it annoying but you secretly love it

but since you're not an unattractive woman, "that's my girl" can quickly turn into "hey, that's my girl"

Of course Bucky and Sam hate that every damn guy in the world is drooling over you but I mean, what can ya do you're just that hot

sometimes they're like "wow you look stunning in that dress but let's just stay home because we want you only for ourselves"

But you ain't having it so you always end up going to that party

So, fights

fights can be really intense

especially with bucky

I mean, that dude is/was a frickin supersoldier

lots of shouting

It can get pretty ugly

and Bucky never hesitates to do his death stare

lots and lots of them trying to prove their masculinity to each other

bucky is a little drama queen so he's gonna be pouting for hours after a fight

It annoys Sam

Bucky shouting at you and Sam

and feeling like crap after doing so

He never means to lose his temper, he just can't help it

One time he threw a vase and one of the pieces gave you a big cut on your cheek

he hid in his room for several days because he wasn't able to face you

He felt so bad, he couldn't believe how he could ever hurt you, his princess, his angel

Everytime he sees the scar you still have on your cheek he wants to beat himself up

You try to reassure him of course, that you know he never meant to hurt you and that you know he loves you

and god forbid you cry during a fight

then it's done, it's over

they cannot stand to see you cry

especially because you don't cry a lot, so they know it's really bad when you do

same for bucky and Sam ofc

After a fight, y'all buy flowers for each other and it's all good

Y'all can never stay mad for too long

Y'all love each other too much

Okay, but teasing

So much teasing

It's not even sexual

just straight up making fun of each other

you love insulting each other, kind of roasting the other person

But no one

Literally no one, except you three,

is allowed to make fun of you

One time Tony made a bad joke about Sam (like not funny, if it's funny it's alright) and bucky and you went ballistic on him

Sam had to hold both of you back

They know now it's not good to mess with y'all

I swear to God, you have so many insiders

You can't count them on both hands

sometimes you're just sitting with the other Avengers and one of you'll say "do you remember that one time...?" and literally not say anything else and crack up laughing

the other Avengers are literally so annoyed with you three

especially Tony

like you're so annoying

1. because you're such a perfect couple

2. you constantly bicker

3. you're very sarcastic

probably the most sarcastic couple to exist on earth

sleeping together in one big bed

bucky : next to the door so he can kill everything that tries to walk in

you: in the middle

sam: next to the window because he gets hot pretty quickly

You don't use pet names like "sweetheart" or "darling" or "babe"

you think it's weird and it feels unnatural

either you call yourselves by your real names or "insult-names"

like "weirdo", "dipshit", "asshole", "stupid", "fool", "bonehead", "creep"

you don't use them as insults though, well, mostly

you call each other these names like everyday, you use them like pet names, always a smile on your faces when saying them

in conclusion, cutest throuple in the world
