also I’m putting Kyros’s at the end because it is the longest, most in-depth answer and I sincerely apologize for it
40. Who do they trust most? Is that trust mutual?
As of right now? The person Kalei trusts most is herself. As a matter of fact, she’s the only person she can trust as far as she’s concerned. Untrustworthiness is a trait that only flawed people, such as flesh beings (which are inherently flawed for a myriad of reasons), possess, and Kalei is utterly flawless so it makes sense that they’d be the most trustworthy person they know! And sure, maybe they did place their trust in someone once. But maybe that person lied to them and hid things from them and abandoned them without a single shred of explanation. Some experiences are very enlightening in that way, you know? They've fully learned their lesson and now they know better than to place their trust in others.
65. What’s their immune system like? Do they get sick often? How do they react to getting sick?
Yours doesn’t exactly have a functioning immune system anymore nor do they get sick. However, they do sometimes experience illness-like “symptoms” as a result of their botched resurrection. Their deterioration is carefully maintained and slowed by a delightfully extensive cocktail of combined spells that have to be refreshed every 3ish months or else things will start getting rough for them. At the very least they get sick on a schedule. Unfortunately, they never see it coming as they’re usually so wrapped up in their multitude of projects that they completely forget about the passage of time.
They also don’t really register anything’s wrong until it starts to impede their ability to work, and once that happens they’ll ignore the symptoms for as long as possible since their mind doesn’t really allow them to let go of said work until it’s finished (and it’s never finished.) Typically, Lucretia or Kyros will drag them out of the workshop to get taken care of as they both keep tabs on Yours’s condition much more rigorously than Yours ever will. It’s a cycle that they really do not enjoy in the slightest but it’s one they're beginning to resign themself to.
71. How are they with children? Do they have any? Do they want any?
Alistair… doesn’t really know what to do with children if we’re being perfectly honest. They’ve literally blocked their entire childhood out which would have really been their only point of reference for how to interact with children (probably for the best that it isn’t their point of reference though.) He acts quite awkwardly around them and tends to be hopelessly lost when it comes to conversing with them. Still, he manages to be quite popular with them because of Bas, his skeletal pseudodragon familiar. They have yet to have any of their own nor do they intend to at the present time. Commitment is not their thing and making the commitment to raise something for so long sounds like a nightmare at this stage of their life.
7. Are they in a romantic relationship? With who? How did they meet?
Kyros’s relationship status tends to fluctuate a lot so they would say yes, sometimes! Kyros greatly enjoys the company of others so they’re prone to falling in and out of casual relationships with one or more people pretty consistently. Unless, of course, we’re referring to his unique relationship with one particular person, in which case his status becomes infinitely more complicated due to a variety of factors and circumstances from both parties and yet would earn the same answer which is yes, sometimes!
Some would say their taste is a little eclectic when it comes to picking romantic partners, others would say they’re fully insane for in any way, shape, or form associating with the mad inventor of Mawmouth, a one Yours Always. It may be slightly cliche to fall for your best friend from childhood but there has always been something so wonderfully unique about them that it honestly just couldn’t be helped in his mind. And personally? Kyros thinks chaotic and mildly unhinged is a little bit sexy and no one can really blame him for that. Yours makes one hell of a partner when that is, in fact, what they are considering each other at the time.
As for how they met, when Yours was fairly young, Lucretia would bring her children to the monastery where Kyros lived to visit its botanical garden for educational purposes and to “borrow” cuttings for her own garden. During one of these visits, Yours wandered off on their own and managed to get fully roundhoused in the chest by Kyros who, in an unfortunate series of events, did not immediately perceive the other child who emerged from the bushes into the clearing where he was practicing all the cool new moves he learned that morning.
Kyros was immediately mortified and extremely apologetic but Yours took it like a champ, only crying a little bit before asking if Kyros would teach them how to kick like that. Obviously, to two children this was clearly the best way to resolve the incident so Kyros did in fact teach Yours how to roundhouse*. It turns out kicking someone just square in the chest can actually be a great way to kickstart (haha get it) a long-lasting friendship that eventually becomes an immensely chaotic and undefinable relationship with your best friend!
*RIP to Lucretia who then had to cope with the absolute menace that was a child who had just learned what a roundhouse kick was and how to execute one

advice i think we should tell children is that when adults say stuff like ‘now that i’m an adult i get really excited about stuff like coffee tables and bathrooms and rugs etc’ they don’t mean ‘and now i don’t care about blorbo and squimbus from my childhood tv shows anymore’ bc your average adult still loves all the same pop culture stuff they always did; they just have a greater appreciation for the mundane as well. growing up just means you can enjoy life twice as much now. you can get really excited about a new stuffed animal AND about a new kitchen sponge. peace and love

So, there's a lot of USians around who are very clearly fucking fed up with their political choices this election cycle, and planning to sit it out.
And I get it! What's the point of voting if there's no one to vote for?
The thing is, I'm Australian. In Australia, voting is compulsory. We don't get to sit out our elections, and I'll be real honest with you - we don't exactly get better choices than you lot. So how do you vote if there's no one to vote for? You find someone to vote against. And there's always someone to vote against.
Now, we have the pleasure of preferential voting in Australia - We get to rank every candidate from 1 to X, and I'll tell you, there's something so cathartic about putting the biggest bastard of the lot at the very bottom of your preferences. I understand that USians don't get that option - you get to mark one person, and that's it.
That means that you get one shot, so aim it at the biggest bastard of the lot. The candidate you most utterly detest. Put your vote in the worst possible place for them. Don't even think about who that vote's going towards, that's not the point. Remember, every vote is a vote against someone. Make sure you fuck up that someone's election day!

Rowling isn't denying holocaust. She just pointed out that burning of transgender health books is a lie as that form of cosmetic surgery didn't exist. But of course you knew that already, didn't you?
I was thinking I'd probably see one of you! You're wrong :) Let's review the history a bit, shall we?
In this case, what we're talking about is the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft, or in English, The Institute of Sexology. This Institute was founded and headed by a gay Jewish sexologist named Magnus Hirschfeld. It was founded in July of 1919 as the first sexology research clinic in the world, and was run as a private, non-profit clinic. Hirschfeld and the researchers who worked there would give out consultations, medical advice, and even treatments for free to their poorer clientele, as well as give thousands of lectures and build a unique library full of books on gender, sexuality, and eroticism. Of course, being a gay man, Hirschfeld focused a lot on the gay community and proving that homosexuality was natural and could not be "cured".
Hirschfeld was unique in his time because he believed that nobody's gender was either one or the other. Rather, he contended that everyone is a mixture of both male and female, with every individual having their own unique mix of traits.
This leads into the Institute's work with transgender patients. Hirschfeld was actually the one to coin the term "transsexual" in 1923, though this word didn't become popular phrasing until 30 years later when Harry Benjamin began expanding his research (I'll just be shortening it to trans for this brief overview.) For the Institute, their revolutionary work with gay men eventually began to attract other members of the LGBTA+, including of course trans people.
Contrary to what Anon says, sex reassignment surgery was first tested in 1912. It'd already being used on humans throughout Europe during the 1920's by the time a doctor at the Institute named Ludwig Levy-Lenz began performing it on patients in 1931. Hirschfeld was at first opposed, but he came around quickly because it lowered the rate of suicide among their trans patients. Not only was reassignment performed at the Institute, but both facial feminization and facial masculization surgery were also done.
The Institute employed some of these patients, gave them therapy to help with other issues, even gave some of the mentioned surgeries for free to this who could not afford it! They spoke out on their behalf to the public, even getting Berlin police to help them create "transvestite passes" to allow people to dress however they wanted without the threat of being arrested. They worked together to fight the law, including trying to strike down Paragraph 175, which made it illegal to be homosexual. The picture below is from their holiday party, Magnus Hirschfeld being the gentleman on the right with the fabulous mustache. Many of the other people in this photo are transgender.

There was always push back against the Institute, especially from conservatives who saw all of this as a bad thing. But conservatism can't stop progress without destroying it. They weren't willing to go that far for a good while. It all ended in March of 1933, when a new Chancellor was elected. The Nazis did not like homosexuals for several reasons. Chief among them, we break the boundaries of "normal" society. Shortly after the election, on May 6th, the book burnings began. The Jewish, gay, and obviously liberal Magnus Hirschfeld and his library of boundary-breaking literature was one of the very first targets. Thankfully, Hirschfeld was spared by virtue of being in Paris at the time (he would die in 1935, before the Nazis were able to invade France). His library wasn't so lucky.
This famous picture of the book burnings was taken after the Institute of Sexology had been raided. That's their books. Literature on so much about sexuality, eroticism, and gender, yes including their new work on trans people. This is the trans community's Alexandria. We're incredibly lucky that enough of it survived for Harry Benjamin and everyone who came after him was able to build on the Institute's work.

As the Holocaust went on, the homosexuals of Germany became a targeted group. This did include transgender people, no matter what you say. To deny this reality is Holocaust denial. JK Rowling and everyone else who tries to pretend like this isn't reality is participating in that evil. You're agreeing with the Nazis.

does anyone else hate that work takes up like 90% of your life and you literally are always working and have to form plans and important things and even seeing friends or eating meals around work. it's always just work. im spending my life just being At Work. i don't have time for hobbies or for seeing friends bc it’s always Work. like two days off a week isn't even enough because my days off aren't consecutive so i just spend those days exhausted or doing errands or house chores. there is not enough Time. all the time goes to Work.
