Things I’ve learned while living with an anxiety and depression disorder:
Not everyone understands why you’re always bracing for the worst
Small tasks can take a toll on you
Hygiene, or lack thereof is more common than you think when talking to people with your same disorder
Sometimes, preparing for every plausible scenario pays off
You’re constantly tired and you can’t even explain why
You lose your memory
You can become codependent
Mood swings
Your body shuts down when it’s overstimulated
Meaningless jokes towards you have power
You trust too easy and let people go easy
Most days, you can’t even put up with your own bullshit
Small criticism can result in a spiral
Your brain is too loud
You take up new hobbies every few weeks and quit them
You cancel plans last minute
Sensory overload
Getting out of bed is dreadful
The smallest things could cause an episode that could last weeks
Getting professional help works to some extent. You must be ready to do the work
Eventually, you meet people who listen, accept you, and do their best to make you comfortable
Communication sucks but it’s essential
Making major decisions take longer than you’d expect
Friends will come and go and it’s not necessarily your fault. Sometimes, people change
You’re not the same person you used to be nor will you ever be that person again
Being in romantic relationships can become hard to navigate when you’re unable to process your own emotions
Mental health days are sometimes needed
Sometimes being alone is necessary
It’s okay to miss who you were
Doing the bare minimum feels great to accomplish
Anxiety/panic attacks can evolve and you won’t notice them for a while
You can become an excellent problem solver
I’ve probably forgotten a lot and that’s alright. You’re not always alone, sometimes meeting someone over the internet can understand you better than your irl friends. It’s not easy to live like this but we’ve made this far.

I love Tumblr because nothing matters here truly. There are no influencers. Having followers doesn’t mean anything. It’s just a site where people post their sporadic thoughts and rb pretty pictures. Anyone who thinks any of this matters is woefully missing the point
