Most people seem to be doing them all, but I'll be skipping movie since there's only 2 of them.

Favourite Character:

MY CRINGEFAIL SON IVAN!!!! I relate to him immensely, even his dynamic with Edward I'd say I can somewhat relate to with someone in my life. It's uncanny. He tries his best to be outgoing but anxiety and self esteem issues sure are fucking bitches, so he can only really do it behind a mask. Even in S2 whilst his whole outlook may have taken a bit of a rollback, that's honestly realistic, not everyone can just keep marching and continuously improving themselves, there are setbacks and holes you can fall into at times. I wish we knew more about his personal life beyond his backstory of getting bullied as a child + what vague stuff we have of his hero academy days, a lot of heroes suffer from this, however. His passion for his hobbies is also just like me. He's cringe but he is free, just like many of us wish to be. Runner up is Keith I love the Autistic dog man

Favourite Episode:

I gotta go with Sky's The Limit. The title is a very OH GEE WHOS FOCUS EPISODE IS THIS kind but genuinely it doesn't prepare you for the content. There's a wholeass lore drop, an intense fight scene with a robot, and of course Keith being Keith. It also puts into focus just how much pressure heroes are put under when it comes to the rankings, and second place apparently not being enough for Poseidon Line is a very corporate reality. It's go big or go home. The ending is also like OH MY GOD IM CRYING???? Like, we know Cis isn't very capable of behaving like a human, but Keith doesn't realise she's not human at all, he treats her as any other person and falls harder than an anvil for her despite their short time in contact. It makes me think that Cis had a potential to be something, someone more than she was initially made for. And these two are a bit of a guilty pleasure ship that me and like 2 other people in the west side seem to ship and yes I will be taking those "Keith is still lowkey in love with her even in S2 era" crumbs thank you-

Oh shit this is where it gets tricky. I have so many, so I'll split it into categories:

OP: Earth Diver ED: Pilot Character Song: GHHHAAAAAA DONT MAKE ME CHOOOOOSE Other supplementary Song: Orion Wo Nazoru Hero Cover

I can't really put to words for Earth Diver, but I really like how it starts and kinda soothes you into the song before it really kicks. The lyrics are also very passionately sung.

I really like the calmer tone of Pilot and even though the explicitness of the shippyness isn't as heavy as Aida, the subtlety honestly fits them more. The credits themselves are also just beautiful; the visual aspect of them hits immensely hard in ep 14 especially since you saw what could happen to their suits in the fight the episode prior, and they're both no longer in their prime. Closing it out as they stare at the sunset makes me emotional and Proud Fiesta I love you but goddamn why did you return for Episode 25 that was a fucking mood killer I stg.

I love a lot of the character songs, with the ones from Best Of Hero very enjoyable romps, especially Mikirezakura and Thanks and Thanks Again, the energy these two songs have makes you wanna coreograph something. Some other highlights are POWER OF JUSTICE and Aaa Hero Suit. (Also Hidden Heroism actually kinda sucks it tries to be Mikirezakura 2 and thus loses out on an identity of its own which is very disappointing).

I love the harmony of the heroes cover of Orion, I can really picture them all in recording booths singing next to each other...who's the cheering guy, though? I've listened to this cover so many times and the line the cheering guy seemingly sings just sounds like Hirata's Kotetsu, I don't get it. I get wanting to balance the lyrics between groups and characters evenly but that was an awkward way to do it.

Production: This concept was great, and they came up with nice twists to keep it interesting between the members attempts; like changing out the touch object every few players. and smelling eachothers' hands?? what a random thing to do but you KNOW this had to be in response to all of those sily quizzes about identifying the members by hands or butts or whatever. lol

Endearment: I was enjoying myself so much i didn't make any notes while watching. These guys, they're just so good at making us want to watch them!

Lee Gyu-Hyuk. i think about him every day. i listen to songs that make me think of him and make lil music videos in my head. he is... what can i even say ㅠㅠ very vague general non-spoiler spoilers, but everyone in Buried Stars Game ™ has their issues and Gyu-Hyuk is no exception, but he works so hard to take care of others and he's so kind and caring IT DRIVES ME CRAZY ACTUALLY hahahaha i am SO normal about him...

02. your favourite food from your culture.

i have been pondering this for days and i just dont know TT i dont want to act like because i'm from the US i have no culture but also it's hard for me to figure out what our cultural foods are. umm i guess i really like pumpkin pie? also pizza my beloved. i know pizza is not exactly an american thing but also. the way we do it is, so. i shall count it. pizza my beloved

03. what your dream apartment / room / house is like.

ooh okay. it's definitely gotten a bit smaller as i've gotten older, but it'd be nice to have more room than i've got now. not to go toooo wild but i'd love a 3 bed 2 bath single level house with a garage/shed and a porch?? with enough room for both me + my partner to have nice pc setups. also barely related but... i want a nice desk so bad 😭 my dad had one that's sitting unused in my mom's house and i dont have room for it at my apartment but it's so nice and sturdy and i journal a ton and would fucking LOVE to have an actually nice space to do it

tried thinking about this on my own and could NOT come up with an answer, so i asked my sisters for their input and i got "stinking cute" and "turbo punk with pop overtones" so take those how you will

when i was a teenager, most thursdays i would go to a roller skating rink with a few friends. we'd skate for hours and pester the dj to play marina and the diamonds songs. then afterwards we'd go to the huge 24-hour grocery store across the street and buy ice cream and/or doughnuts and we'd sit in the car eating and talking for hours.

i am. such a homebody. i like doing all sorts of things but i honestly love just being at home with my partner and playing video games. oh. also i love eating. it is a hobby <3

cryborgs i believe kinda came from VIXX's "Error" mv, not any type of direct reference, but just the vibe. my blog title is a slightly weirdly translated line from We Best Love, a bl drama that infected my brain for a while in 2021 (i still love it ok im not over it). i never know what to put in my description so i usually just put the media i'm currently watching/playing but also i dont update it so it's almost always wrong 💀 annnnd my icon is my beloved Han Do-Yoon from Buried Stars Game ™...... i love him.....

08. something that comforts you or brings you joy.

i dont watch it regularly anymore, but Running Man. regardless of what bad things are going on, i know i can turn on an old ep and be happy for 1.3 hours. it's gotten me through so much school stress, family issues, and general mental unwellness, it'll always have a place in my heart.

09. what you're looking forward to.

i started writing this a week ago and the thing i was looking forward to already passed soo um,. i really don't have anything too notable right now? i am looking forward to being done with my 6pm meeting -_-

10. something else that's important to you.

hmmmmmm i have this brain problem where sometimes i get pedantic about the meaning of words so right now i am like, "important" ?? what is it,,,, for somethign to be "important" .... anyways i think journaling is something that probably fits the bill? it's something i enjoy doing and i really like having a written record of things to look back on, and being able to see how i felt about things in the moment they were happening. i also journal about video games a lot and it's so fun to look back at the times Before big twists and reveals... ah my innocence...

Answering another one of these separately because my brain had a little brain-thought. Noggin-whispers. Skull-wiggles.

Exit Interviews! Like today's! Are similar! To Inanimate Answers! Mayhaps't've??

For some background, for Blueberry's I arranged the questions in order and had Barry improvise answers. Then I used those responses to write transitional phrases for our interviewer, Yellow, whose dialogue was mostly scripted. Then with Fan's, I arranged the questions again, but then Brian and our interviewer, Absolute Legend Mickel™, completely improvised their interview on the spot. Then maybe Adam did some light improv for Lifering? OJ's was very scripted, but in a fairly straightforward question-answer way.

Aaaaand, to get the present, Since Box's bizarre Exit interview, Brian and I have been writing them out together, with occasional guest writers, such as Dee helping a lot for Clover's. And here the goal of each of them is to not only find fun answers to the viewer's questions, but to also either find a real core to a contestant's story and help them re-ground themselves post-show, like for Tea Kettle and Cabby, or to shed some more light on a character by having them have an affect on an interviewer who needs to learn a lesson, like for Lifering (in the Box Exit), Clover, and Goo.

And this was always the mentality of Inanimate Answers! Just in a new form. Sometimes Apple needs to learn a lesson from Justin+Santa, sometimes Justin needs to learn a lesson from Balloon. And, in both shows, zaniness ensues. I'm still laying out viewer questions, and getting to use them to craft a little story that explores character not only through those questions, but also a culmination of what those questions mean to the character. It's fun!

One plus for the Exit Interviews is that I get to craft an interviewer who works as a strong foil for the contestant. Dr. Fizz is the perfect target to be driven crazy by Lifering, Bryan as an Interviewer was written to have insecurities that only Clover could help with, and now with today's Goo Exit, I knew for a long long time I wanted to create an interviewer for Goo who would be entirely opposed to Goo's silly existence.

On the flip-side, getting to write the very very bizarre character of Inanimate Answers Justin is veryyyy fun. I do think he fits best when placed next to Knife, whom Justin was created to bounce off of. Not to say that Justin doesn't work next to the other contestants on Inanimate Answers, but I remember when I decided I wanted to do Balloon next that I realized that the core couldn't just be the comedy of Balloon being annoyed by Justin's zaniness, because Balloon natural wouldn't react as strongly as Knife. So, that's when we started exploring different types of cores of an episode, such as showing Justin in the wrong and needing Balloon to help show him the light. Or Justin and Bow who get along surprisingly well, and it becomes about their chemistry. Or Justin being able to easily spot the underlying insecurities Apple has and having a deep dive into the root of those.

Aaaaand after writing all that, I'm missing Inanimate Answers more haha.

But! Exit Interviews are always a delight, as well. And I very much hope that y'all have a fun time as I and the team play around with different fun ideas to play with the question-answering, whilst've still trying to make mainline eps as frequently as possible. Wish us luuuuuck.

⁉️synopsis : beomgyu has been trying all year to get Y/n’s attention but he only truly gets it when he volunteers to help her practice tennis. Now beomgyu has 10 weeks till Y/n’s first comp to train and win her over.

“Fuck”. You looked all over the court to no avail to find beomgyu. You knew Beomgyu wasn’t a creep.. he just always ended up looking like one. to be honest you were quiet fond of the boy. when he wasn’t getting weird sightings from her friends he was.. well really nice.

He was always at your games cheering you on, anytime he caught you walking out of school he made you laugh with a terrible dad joke and-

“IM SO SORRY DONT FIRE ME PLEASE!”. You laughed audibly out loud. Looking Beomgyu up and down the boy wore mix matched shoes a basket ball jersey and shorts and a backwards cap.

“You know we’re playing tennis right?”. Beomgyu nodded furiously as he opened his phone.

“Ok let’s start with the basics”. After 15 minutes you started to noticed Beomgyu did in-fact not know what the hell the ‘basics’ were. For 8 of those 15 minutes the poor boy had you doing yoga poses. The other 7 were him not being able to even get the ball past the net. So it was safe to say you had to stopped mid way.

“Gyu be honest with me”. Gyu. From his friends mouths Gyu was just a silly nickname but from you is was the best form of endearment.

“Hmm”

“So do you even know how to play tennis”

“Nope”. You laughed. Beomgyu made you laugh with a joke he didn’t steal from the internet.

“Well.. I’m already good so.. would you mind just being my ‘coach’ for the title so I don’t have to spend actual ‘coach’ money?”. Beomgyu eagerly nodded.

“I can still help though! Like moral support and stuff! And little tips!”. You nodded. Beomgyu beamed at you as you quickly ran over to teach him the basics so you could have an opponent. Beomgyu felt like he was in a kdrama. He was half listening to you and half geeking about what was happening. You had half hazardly tried to, back hug him to show him how to use the racket correctly. To you, you just didn’t have to spend money you didn’t have. To Beomgyu he was starting to think he actually had a chance with you.

After you made sure Beomgyu could actually hit a ball that could pass the net, you ran back to your side of the court to play. For the next hour and fifteen minutes you played with Beomgyu. In that one hour and fifteen minutes with out you knowing Beomgyu got, five bruises, thought he pulled something and a headache. But you didn’t need to know any of that. Just being with you made him happy. So it was safe to say Beomgyu was pretty bummed when the session ended. As you ran to get your stuff Beomgyu Followed.

“So can we meet everyday on Wednesday’s and Friday’s to practice coach”. Beomgyu looked at his fake watch and thought for a minute before he answered. You laughed.

“Sounds good to me Ms.K”. You titled your head.

“Ms.K?”

“Miss Kitty cause you look like a cat”. You couldn’t help but burst out laughing. Sure it was a well known fact by all your friends that you looked like a cat but somehow when Beomgyu said it, it was so much funnier. In those five seconds you were laughing Beomgyu was analyzing you.

You had sweat beads across you head, some stray hairs on your head and the brightest smile he had ever seen.

“You thirsty?”

“Uh.. ya”

“Ok wanna go to the cafe I think it’s still open because of clubs.. oh and I have to stop by the film club for like five minutes before”. Beomgyu nodded and followed closely behind you as you entered the school.

“We’re here you can wait here if you want”. Beomgyu nodded and watched you talk to your friends. Some peeked out the door to see an awkward Beomgyu fiddling with his cap, that he had now taken off after you made a joke about it during practice.

“I think this is the first time I’ve heard him be like totally silent..”. Wonyoung said and Yeji giggled.

“Wony stop it I’m paying this man five cents for and hour and thirty minutes for that he’s really nice”

“Didn’t you text me that mid way you had to teach him how to play tennis?”. Wony laughed but quickly stopped after you glared at her.

“He’s really nice when you get to know him! Talk to him at the next game you’ll see!”. Beomgyu was struggling to hear anything but he heard you loud and clear. You thought he was nice. The girl he had been pinning after for the last two years thought he was nice. This was definitely a step in the right direction for Beomgyu. So as you walked out he linked arms with you.

“What’s this for?”

“It’s just your really short don’t wanna lose you on our way to the cafe”. Your rolled your eyes and as the two of you started to bicker a smile grew on Beomgyu’s face.

“I told you he was nice Wony”

“I know.. I just don’t wanna ever see Y/n hurt”. Why’ll the two girls finally went back to their work, you and Beomgyu exchanged numbers and were starting a new chapter in each others lifes.

What WN means to me:

i watched it initially for Avatrice, ofc i did. one day during lockdown i randomly saw a crack vid of avatrice and decided to watch it. not even knowing if they end up together or if they kiss or if they become canon. i didnt watch the whole vid so i wont spoil everything, which was weird because ever since lexa, i dont watch shows without knowing that the sapphic couple would be together and happy.

did you know where i stopped? i stopped during the part where ava phased out of the wall, breathless and scared, and beatrice was there to catch her. maybe it was the way she looked, the way kristina's eyes shined as beatrice holding alba's ava in her hands that convinced me that yup these two are in love. or at least bea is. this isnt a crack ship. this is real.

so i watched s1. tbh, im one of the people who thought s1 was slow bec if im being rlly honest, i watched it for avatrice. but i wasnt expecting to love ava, that running on the beach scene loving life, alba's acting of laughing and crying and breathless under the stars with the sand below her and the ocean just in front, and watching THAT during the fucking pandemic ???? that saved me from a lot of dark thoughts swirling in my head. i wasnt expecting a family. a real found family that even when mary and lilith were fighting each other to death you can tell that there's love, there's history. there's sisterhood. i wasnt expecting that from a show with 'Warrior Nun' as a title. and not bec i thought it was silly but bec i thought it was one of those female-led show made for men.

long story short, i finished it. search tumblr for a bit for content, then twitter, then ao3, as one usually does and then nothing. i moved on, peacefully. even if that s1 cliffhanger was far from peaceful. bec i was sure there would be an s2 with that kind of ending. i went on with my life and continued to consume other media.

until october 2022. i didnt even knew they were filming s2. i saw the s2 trailer in yt randomly again. there they were. dancing. i was like how did these two go from fighting an angel?-jesus-like-incarnate in s1 to dancing casually in a bar?? i was scared at first, maybe this isnt the same show that i'll come back to bec lets be honest most s2 of a really good s1 most of a time is a let down. but then i saw the "your jealous" "that's absurd" part and i was like yup those two are in love and im going to watch this just so i can see how they do it.

for extra context (i know this is getting super long but i honestly dont care im doing this for me), im reviewing for the boards and getting invested in anything other than my studies would be really bad. i was catious with what media to consume because i need to focus on my studies. even so, i watched the final ep for context and carry the feeling before watching the first episode. the legendary fucking first episode. the hands behind teasing walk, the kiss cheek, the dance, the stare (i dont have to explain this, u know what im talking about) i replayed all of those moments 10 times bec WOW they weren't holding back.

then everything else. the little moments leading to the big ones were satisfying and so perfectly excuted that i cant even watch it with my girlfriend bec she gets mad that i keep repeating the scenes and slowing them down to take it all in. halfway through s2, i knew i was gonna watch it again. and i only really did that for 2 other shows (shera and the wilds s1, atla and tlok dont count bec i rewatch them periodically and not right after finishing) but u know what i didnt do to those other two that i did with warrior nun? i watched it a third time in a bigger screen just so i can see more. i watched in a 4th time with my girlfriend. i watched it a 5th time just so i can move on with my life and i watched it a 6th time because i missed them and i can't. i watched it a 7th time because i won't. and at this point i lost count at how much i rewatched the show. i would stream it during studying just so i could have them on screen and be inspired with finishing so i can watch them.

im just really heartbroken right now. with all this.

nesting dolls and descensus are my current favorites from that album rn and they have these long sections where not much is going on and i dont mean that in a bad way at all its so necessary to those songs but just putting that out there. i mean descensus is like 9 minutes long. but its so good. also phantom i think. go to phantom world. its necessary.

now sadly im no expert with the amulet. so id have to recommend lustration and the title track. the rest of that album is really good ive only listened to it all twice though so i dont really remember it? so sad :^[ i remember it being sooo fucking good though. but yeah. the amulet [song]. go to the amulet [song] world.

Synopsis: Official Escape rooms! the guys are divided into two teams and completing separate escape rooms to see which team completes theirs first.

Production: This was an excellent location to work with for an escape room episode. Having two teams do separate rooms that expanded into several spaces beyond the initial room was perfect for the visual storytelling. The edit was excellent as well. They had excellent pacing throughout whilst also keeping us up-to-date with both teams' progress. One note though regarding the two rooms for those that don't do escape rooms: There was a difficulty difference between the two. With the information shown to us this episode, i can tell you the main difference is Jin's room is pretty linear and the Jimin's is concurrent, which is what makes it more suited to a higher player count. the first room in Jin's space only has one puzzle to work on at a time, once they're done with that room, they only briefly have to return and they keep getting to progress to the next rooms. There aren't as many 'active' puzzle at the same time like Jimin's room. There's so many puzzles presented at first that the difficulty can be in knowing which ones to focus on that you can solve and which you just dont have enough information for.

Endearment: I do think Jimin's team was a little stronger in the endearment category. Jin's team was a little more focused on the puzzle than on being entertainers. Nothing wrong with that, we got to see how every member responds in this type of setting.

Winner: JN, YG, V (39min56sec 5 hints)

Loser: RM, JH, JM, JK (40min53sec 4 hints)

Best Cheater: There's a theory that i see go around occaissionallu about JK getting a peak at his team assignment before opting to switch with V but if you watch, he really only opens it halfway before he stops. So this only holds if the font is visible through the paper which it doesn't really look like it is. So I'm not counting this as a cheat. Everything else that we see in the ep was using the approved method of hints so I'm saying none for this ep.

Member Moments:

RM: Ah, RM. It took him a while to get used to the escape room ways but I think he's got it now!

JN: Jin has an interesting strategy for the escape room. Since he knows he's competing against the other team for speed, he has no hesitation calling for hints. They call for their first one barely 4 min in the room! Definitely not a common tactic but it works in this specific scenario.

YG: Yoongi is so thrilled with himself when he puts that cane in the right place!

JH: We've seen hints of this before, but i love Hobi's method of team-based problem solving. He's actually pretty intuitive regarding picking out info that's helpful and just shouts it out. (an excellent escape room strategy if you've never done one, have everyone say what they're finding/working on). anyway, i love his comments right at the beginning: 'who am i talking to?'

JM: I was confused the first time I watched this why Jimin was preselected to be one of the team captains but it's obvious that he actually enjoys this kind of activity. a puzzle that he knows he can solve, especially when he has the team lead role. I love seeing Jimin when he's confident as a leader.

V: V with Jin and Yoongi is such an interesting dynamic, especially in this kind of challenge. You can tell just how earnest he is and he wants to be a good helper to his hyungs.

JK: JK absolutely holds his own on this team. He speaks up when he sees connections and then proceeds with his theory if he others move on. a great teammate for an escape room.

Bonus Content: There is some good content in this one. great moments of memory squirrel jimin with his Polaroids and lots of extra footage that didn't make it into the ep (i still dont understand why they didnt give us the extra footage like this in the blue village episodes....)

I broke a cardinal sin. Whilst watching CRC1 ep 79 Thordak, I knew I was coming up to ep 80. And I heard that this episode was very divisive amongst the fandom. So I decided to read the comments for ep 80 just to see what was up, I dont care that much about being spoiled, a lot of what's going to happen in the campaign I've already been spoiled for thanks to reading a whole bunch of Vaxleth fanfiction. And the comments for ep 80 on youtube would have you believe that ep 80 is just the worst possible thing to happen ever. But after watching the episode, it really wasnt that bad. It was entertaining, I enjoyed it. Was it a total clusterfuck? ABSOLUTELY. From a game play standpoint, going after Raishan right after their battle with Thordak was not a great move, most of the spellcasters' good spells were already gone, no one was really in a good position to fight another dragon particularly a dragon as heavily magic based as Raishan. BUT from a story telling perspective, this was the right move for me, it made sense. I think sometimes people get so caught up in the game play of Critical Role, they kind of forget these are voice actors playing the game, none of them are necessarily playing this for game play or to necessarily be the "winner" of D&D. They're playing as characters living in this world, they're playing for story and story-telling. And I would be right along with them. I dont watch D&D for the gameplay, honestly, I find encounter episodes really boring and those are the episodes I'm listening to at work just to get through them. I'm in it for the story, for the character moments and nothing that happened at the tail end of ep 79 going into ep 80 shocked me or surprised me. Everyone acted accordingly to how their characters would act in the situation. Was it the right decision? Who can say? They were stuck between walls caving in and a ceiling crashing down on them metaphorically speaking. It was either trust Raishan and hope she wasnt doing anything hinky, or stop her before she did something that might or might not be hinky. Honestly, I dont know what I would've chosen to do. I mean, do you trust someone who's title is "The Diseased Deceiver" and hope they're not going to bring about another apocalypse? But Vax making the call in a very Vax manner made perfect sense to me. And it wasn't an actor of hubris or something like that as I saw in the youtube comments. It was based on pragmatism, vengeance, and a need to help Keyleth sort through her demons. It was a complicated decision on Vax's side. And Vax does what he does best, he acts. And all the Keyleth haters out there can say Keyleth is being a terrible leader by letting her hate guide her decisions but for one thing, Keyleth is still relatively young, the decimation of the fire ashari is really one of the first biggest traumas in her life besides the disappearance of her mother. People expecting her to make calculated decisions while undergoing this trauma after only a few weeks??? Well you tell me which is more realistic and which might be more meta gaming. (PS, dont really tell me, I'm just here to rant). And another thing, I feel Keyleth played a very small part in Vax's decision anyway. If I had to be honest, if Vax wasnt able to get through to Keyleth on the earring to find out what she wanted, he probably still would've tried to stop Raishan. Because that's who Vax is. Does he always think through his actions? No, but he sees a problem and he acts and that's who he is.

But anyway, enough with the ranting. Those were thoughts I had to get out. I'm not really looking to debate here on who was right and who was wrong, I think it's kind of a moot point at this juncture. This episode was a prime example of Vox Machina being who they are for better or worse. And that's what I'm here for. The Legend of Vox Machina, if you will.

as someone who is all caught up on both shows - they're both fun 😄

this ask is from three days ago when I talked about how stay by my side (taiwanese show about a boy who can hear ghosts and the guy who gives him a break through touch) had a very fun sixth episode. i wasn't into the show that much but ep.6 gave me some heart-fluttering moments and cute angst that I neither took seriously nor disliked - it was fun for me because of the execution, the fact I don't take anything happening in the show to heart and because the show is short enough so I sensed a resolution was coming very soon 😁

now ive seen episode 7 as well and I can say 6 is definitely my fave. the conflicts are predictable, theres nothing really new but thats what goves you the safe feeling - you dont risk breaking your heart watching it haha. i'd recommend this in case you want a quick sweet watch with "cute silly boy denying his feelings" and "cold rude guy turned passionate suitor". it's the lightest watch i've seen in a while and it's my palette cleanser these days (everything I watch is angsty apparently and the angst supreme™️ trio of loa, of and dr hasn't even reared its ugly head yet lol)

stay with me (the og title of which I find real cute: "gege, don't run") is as far as I know a remake of addicted - a chinese bl that was Very direct in regards to what it's about and therefore got canceled AND banned and the main actors - banned from interacting with each other on tv or at public events for years; I thought swm would be a story set in the same universe or smth but as I watched the first episode I kept getting deja vu until I realised it's the same plot lol

it's about two teens whose dad and mom, respectively, got together - the boys claim to hate each other before they even meet, then fate brings them together without them recognizing each other and shenanigans ensue. it's about found family, finding common ground with parents you can't communicate with, about forgiveness and acceptance. the characters are very lovable <3 the crew is doing their best fighting censorship so it's very clear that the couple are not just bros. they can't, however, do what addicted did so many might prefer the 2016 show. I, personally, was not a fan of the mains in that - wu bi is too possessive for me in this version but his predecessor was Something Else

it's a very standard modern mainland china show. the reason im mentioning this is because of clips on tt and having not seen a cdrama in a while, i had the impression itd be more like a taiwanese or korean bl. the editing, dubbing, bizarrely cut scenes - nothing new in cdrama land. i was wondering if I would recommend it but I think I would, yes. some coincidences and plot points are just so beyond belief that you'd roll your eyes but it's not smth unheard of when it comes to asian dramas haha and I think you'd get so caught up in the angst, domesticity and hunting down hints spread around like easter eggs that you just won't mind the convenient plots (if you would care bout such a thing in the first place)

I'm doing a bad job at promoting this show but I do want more people to see it. the cast is perfect imo (..except for duo duo, I'm sorry but that bby cannot act..her face and aura suit the character though), the sets are all amazing (I like the school, I like su yu's home, I like the shared space later on etc.etc., all decor is very well picked and pleasant to the eye) and the moral of the story is heartwarming, its execution too.

you get passionate hot-headed athletic rich boy who's crazy for his equally smitten furrow-browed genius humble guy - they both value family and each other very much and are willing to do everything for those close to them. it's very endearing and their dynamic is swoonworthy, they're a complete power couple.

(also, spoiler, you get enemies to friends to lovers which is pretty neat)(the spark is there from day 1 tho)

Nirvana - Something In The Way (Live at the BBC): when listening through last month's album ranking, this performance caught me. something in the way is one of the more underrated tracks from nevermind (or at least it was before the new batman movie lol). truthfully there's nothing too out of the ordinary with this performance but i like how kurt's voice sounds on the chorus especially <3

Europe - The Final Countdown: okay everyone SHUT UP. i know this is a fucking sports stadium anthem but i dont give a shit about that!! when i was 11 years old and only just starting to listen to music, this was one of the only songs i knew. everyone only knows the chorus (which is really good) but if you actually listen to the lyrics it's this heartwrenching power pop track about leaving earth and dealing with the complicated emotions that would come with that...... you wouldn't get it................

Luscious Jackson - Naked Eye: heard it on the radio. struck me as a very genre-bending band, with rock and hip hop and a bunch of other shit mixed in. cool stuff! apparently the drummer was the original drummer for the beastie boys?? crazy

Vanilla Ice - Hooked-Live/1991: i've been writing a ranking of all of vanilla's albums, which led me to relisten to some significant tracks. hooked was one of the stronger tracks from his debut album (the original release of which was even named after it) but it always fell a little short for me. the live version, on the other hand, has a lot more energy and hype

They Might Be Giants - Hide Away Folk Family: tmbg was one of the first bands i ever listened to (explains a lot tbh) but i only knew a little bit of their stuff from like the 90s and 00s, so i wanted to go back and check out some old school material. i liked this album a lot, and the chorus to HAFF stuck in my head big time

Jethro Tull - Aqualung: i've been getting into some more prog rock recently for no. particular... reason...... and i already kinda knew i would like this album. my dad had recommended "up to me" a while back, which i really liked, so i had high hopes. they were met! good fucking album! the title track is really only a standout bc of my love for opening tracks

ANGEL_TECH - whats up with u??: new angel_tech album out now!! once again, the opening track thing is big for me. i love an album that makes a good first impression. it was unfortunate that i couldn't make the release party but oh freaking well!

Huey Lewis & The News - I Want A New Drug: i think i've properly memed myself into enjoying huey lewis lmaooo i found sports in those old cassettes i mentioned i've been going through and was like "lol i should listen to this bc funney american psycho reference" and then an hour later i was adding a bunch of huey songs to my playlist...

Mind-Body Problem - Flesh and Blood (Ephesians 6:12): found this band through their hand crushed by a mallet cover, but honestly i think i might like this original track better. metalcore and hardcore and all that are severely lacking some fresh faces and new takes on the genre, so i'll be keeping an eye on what else this band has to offer!

August is Falling - August Is Falling: really great new ep from an absolute classic pop punk emo band. definitely not tied to any kind of internet inside joke bullshit. remember seeing them on warped tour

Girls Rituals - Idiot punk tetratogenic perma-decline (at the end of your bed): i've been enjoying all devi's new singles but this one's the one i keep coming back to. nothing much more to say it's just good tunes

Spin Doctors - Little Miss Can't Be Wrong: i've been just ever so slightly abnormal about these guys since the trainwreckords episode, but this one is not really that interesting? it's just a really good pop song 👍

Cry Baby - Singing For You: y2k throwback pop rock recommended by skatune network. i've become such a pop girlie and this one has a big catchy chorus. great stuff :)

yes you do give off violent vira vibes! specifically tarantula girl and lolita, i think! also i adore god complex so so bad, i memorized all the lyrics a bit ago. it's one of my favorites. i have a somewhat good voice for singing her songs so its really nice to sing along to them. honestly id recommend basically all her songs to you, but for starters mayyyybe luka, waiting by a hospital (i dont remember if that's the exact title), and i dont care (so so so osossososoo good) which are some of my favorites. she came out with a new ep recently!!!! it's incredible, i love it so bad i wanna see her play live
