I know romanticizing your mental illness and your life while your are sick might seem like a coping mechanism that turns something negative into a positive, beautiful thing. That it makes you like one of those tragically pretty characters on fictional stories, even. But it is fictional in the end. It is a fantasy. It is toxic positivity in a way, because you are not really dealing with your problems and your illness, you are probably making yourself even sicker by using a coping mechanism that embellishes reality and keeps you from seeing how self-destructive this behavior really is. You are sick, and you need help. You deserve it, and you should actively do all you can to heal, to move away from toxic environments, to find doctors, therapists, new friends, to have a better life. You don’t have to be tragically beautiful in your pain. You can be beautiful in your healing. You can be beautifully happy. 🌿🌷

One day Franky said "Existing is not a crime". And I want to send this message to everyone who think they don't deserve to live and to be loved, who hurt themselves bc their mind is just fucked up. In one week, I saw 3 people with scars that I know too much what they mean. I want to send love, a lot of love, at these beautiful souls, I know they are, and I hope they'll find peace and happiness.

The life can be so cruel, but that doesn't mean you deserve the pain you actually have. That doesn't mean you deserve the crime you suffer. Because you existence is not a crime. No matter what they tell you, your existence is not a crime. Life is a bitch to the most beautiful souls of the world. So I hope one day you, you suffer, you hate yourself, you bullied, you think you are alone, you gonna find that place and that mind who offer you the happiness and the peace you deserve. There is treasure in the world who's waiting for you to be discovered and pampered.

my top bit of advice going into the new year: compliment people. especially strangers. literally everyone you interact with if you can. when you buy coffee in the morning compliment the barista's tattoos. when you're chatting with a coworker tell them that by the way you like their outfit. always find something they've chosen to do on purpose. nail polish, jewellery, tattoos, hair colour/style, statement accessory, outfit, etc are all good bets. things people hope will be noticed. things that aren't too personal so it doesn't make them uncomfortable (eg probably not their physical features). i've gotten into the habit of scanning everyone i talk to for something about them that i think is cool so i can tell them. it's a great habit because it makes me notice people and realise just how many neat little details there are in people's presentation of themselves that might pass me by if i wasn't paying attention. and it brings out so much joy. you'd be surprised how much it disarms people to receive an unexpected compliment from someone they don't know. it is the most sincere smile you will see all day long. it feels nice to make people happy but it also means you win the social interaction. establish dominance by complimenting a stranger's earrings and disappearing into the fog

getting older can be so amazing? you get more familiar with yourself. learn tips & tricks for troubleshooting your own brain. trial & error helps you build routines that minimize discomfort, maximize reward. your preferences/interests don't get set in stone, but you do find out which ones are going to stay with you in the long-term, and which ones are fun but transient joys to appreciate in the moment.

you learn that the world is so much more complex than you were taught, and that that's okay, and that there's an endless supply of things you can learn or watch or experience or think about if you want to. if you're lucky, you loosen up, stop putting so much pressure on yourself. if you're lucky, you learn to recognize that negative inner voice, and whack it with a baseball bat until it hushes up. if you're lucky, you learn to treat yourself gently, not because you are fragile but because you are worthy of gentleness. (i hope you are lucky.)

and some things will change. some things will get better. some things will get good. and maybe you start to recover from the dehumanizing stress of childhood/education. maybe you learn the power of your own autonomy. maybe you learn how to walk away from bad situations (which is a superpower even if you don't realize it yet). and you get to choose your own clothes. and your own food. and which relationships to pursue! and what you do with your free time. and with your life (but don't worry you get to choose that gradually). and that's crazy! and sometimes scary. and extraordinarily, indescribably precious.
