here’s the thing. about zolu. puts myhand on your shoulder Here’s the thing. luffy? aromantic. zero interest in romance. zoro? gay. very low interest in romance. has two braincells and they’re both devoted to thinking about swords. they are not dating. it is not romantic. it’s not sexual either because luffy, much like his views on romance, could not give less of a shit about sex. maybe if they both feel up to it at the same time, but that’s rare and when it does happen it’s more of a physicality and, to a lesser extent, affection thing than anything else. occasionally it’s a “hey wouldn’t it be weird/funny/fucked up if we [insert some david cronenberg-type shit]” thing and the other one goes “haha yeah do you wanna try.” but i digress.
however. HOWEVER. they Have A Thing. what that Thing entails is a mystery. luffy is both incredibly straightforward and frustratingly cryptic whenever he’s asked about it and zoro just kinda shrugs. they’re just luffyandzoro and zoroandluffy. the king and his lionheart. drift compatible. partners. captain and first mate. the sailor and the north star. sun and moon. they simply Are. what does that entail? well brother. they hang out

I often use cannibalism as a metaphor for longing and craving because just being next to the one you adore isn't enough. You need to consume them. But I do it in fundamentally different ways with different ships-- Like. Speaking of Zolu, I say Zoro will let himself be eaten out of devotion, wanting to live inside of Luffy, and knowing Luffy worships food as a symbol for life and freedom. Luffy will eat and consume Zoro out of greediness and the selfishness only a pirate can have but also worshipping every part of Zoro. At the same time, he does it because there's just no other way of having him that isn't inside of him forever. He's possessive like that and wants everything Zoro will give him, and Zoro wants to give him everything. While, if I write about Fyolai, I consider cannibalism as power differences and giving up freedom for love. Nikolai views love and sacrifice as some sort of chain that ties him to the world and doesn't let him be free or make decisions of his own, so letting himself be eaten by Fyodor and letting him take over his body is the most romantic and selfless thing he can do, giving up free will for love and the appreciation he has for Fyodor. While Fyodor feels some sort of power and control over Nikolai doing so, it's not only to call himself a god but because it would put Nikolai out of his misery and even if it's a selfish action it is also his way of showing respect and care as he would never let anybody else live in between his ribs. But then again, it could also be the other way around if you stop and think about it. Luffy only being vulnerable and weak around Zoro, realizing he feels safe inside of him and letting his first mate have everything he wants out of his captain. Because Zoro will not take unless Luffy lets him, so Luffy wants him to take and Zoro wants to swallow every bit of Luffy's vulnerability that only exists around him to give him the rest and comfort he needs and act as the anchor that grounds a ship. Fyodor, on the other hand, could let Nikolai consume him as a treat and sign of respect, giving up his superiority to show a bit of vulnerability around the clown but having still power over him. It would not be free will completely but Nikolai would enjoy the freedom inside of the cell he calls love and be free of eating Fyodor as a symbol of worship and almost religious devotion.

something I find real tragic about Holloway and Duke is that we know more about them than they will ever know about each other.
yeah, Holloway's being a bitch to Abigail, but she's doing that because she's hurting. does that make it ok? no, but we as the audience understands why she's doing it. Duke doesn't. Duke just sees a woman that he tried to initiate a relationship with multiple and was rejected by multiple times, being salty about him getting married and refusing to give him a straight answer. we know why Holloway is acting the way she is. we understand that she's hurting and why she's hurting. Duke doesn't.

Anyways the idea of Tubbo’s originally offers of friendship solely for information about the missing eggs eventually becoming him waiting for a letter back from his pen pal
Fred slowly becoming more and more aware as they’ve spent more time with Tubbo, feeling his own heart beat and stomach twist but being scared of it. Their frightened by the new sensation but can’t stop now
They bled into each other and now cannot mend the wound. Connected through their strange relationship.

leon having a charizard is such a hit or miss for me because i 100% believe the theory they did it purely for merchandising but my “i need everything to have a deeper meaning” brain also loves the idea of one of the strongest trainers in the franchise having a starter pokemon as an ace. it goes against the idea that most champions have a pseudo as their ace and in a way it shows that absolutely anyone (very similar to what i also believe red’s purpose is) can become the strongest.

the difference between zosopp and sanuso (romantic OR platonic) is that Usopp is Zoro's specialest little guy and Zoro is someone Usopp hangs out with and looks up to and hides behind when things get scary, but Sanji and Usopp are best friends. They horse around, they beat each other up, they confide their worst fears trying to one up each other. Usopp hides behind Sanji sometimes, sure, but idk, Sanji's weaknesses are more obvious (bugs, fighting women, etc) so there are times when Usopp has to stand in front of Sanji too, yknow?
Like, how do I say this, all the crewmates are equal- Usopp and Zoro are equals- but with Sanji it feels like more... comradery? Zoro's a rock in a terrible storm- even rocks tend to get weathered and chipped and worn down, but they overall stay strong and steady. He has trouble being vulnerable and there are times when the burden he's placed on himself to keep the crew safe is crushing his chest. Usopp would help with that and be very understanding, but the point I'm trying to get with that is that those moments are few and far between. So I feel like Usopp, especially after Water 7, would take Zoro's lead on something like that, and keep most of his worries to himself or only talk about them sparingly unless they're really bad and/or he can't hide them.
Sanji is like a tree in a storm; he can be strong, yes, but it feels like he bends and sways with the storm, and has more obvious breaking points. He can relate more to Usopp's struggles rather than resorting to blunt honesty that might border on callous like Zoro. And while, with Zosopp, I tend to think of scenarios with Zoro being blunt like that as a good thing- because sometimes when you're spiraling, it's nice to have someone say exactly what's great about you and shoot down all your worries with straight facts that you can't argue with- I can also see this as being a bad thing. Anxiety can really twist up your brain sometimes, you know? And despite the words, the tone could still mess someone up if they're already feeling like a burden on others in some way.
With Sanuso it's a lot more understanding and thoughtful words. It's distractions and comfort food and patience- the kind reserved for Usopp- until Usopp talks about whatever's troubling him. Compared to Zosopp, it doesn't take as long for Usopp to open up, since he's done the same thing to Sanji at times and it's more familiar to him to talk and commiserate with Sanji about his worries and doubts and such. However, there are times stuff like this has absolutely no effect and Sanji will end up at a loss, no idea what to do or how to help over the course of several days with Usopp being quiet and keeping his distance, and he'll end up working himself up about it which will only serve to make Usopp feel worse and. yeah. bit of a vicious cycle with them.
So it's like. Usopp can be weak with both of them, but since I see Sanji as the type of guy who'd be more open with his worries (at least compared to Zoro), there's less of a need to 'perform' and be his best self around him. He's comfortable around Zoro, yes, but he is constantly wanting to show that he won't be a problem to him. On the other hand, while he's more open with Sanji, and Sanji with him, they tend to relate a bit too much with each other and they both have issues with causing trouble for others and being 'deserving of love' so failed attempts at consoling one hurts the other and creates an unpleasant cycle of misery and avoidance before some other crewmate (Zoro) tells them to quit being stupid and just fucking talk to each other.

something that is like the baseline of amys entire character to me is that shes lonely. shes clingy and physically affectionate in a way none of her friends really are, shes always getting pushed aside and left behind. yeah, she helps out people she doesnt know because shes a nice person, but also, she sees part of herself in them. she wont leave someone else behind because she knows the feeling —and more importantly, hates the feeling. if she doesnt have somebody to stand by her and be there for her, then shes going to be that person for everybody else. something something her obsession with sonic is really just like a manifestation of that desire for closeness with someone, and she thinks that romance is the only way to get that. idk... this hedgehog can have so many abandonment issues.

You know what, usually i kinda dislike when a new series of a program tries to bring in a new character and make them very ‘cool’ and ‘badass’ so you like them etcetc BUT. this does not apply to Zheng. she is !!!! love her. won’t hear any bad words about her even though i can smell the atrocities she’s about to commit
