sometimes when i think about crack with coryo and reader, i have a little fun with reader being someone who is a very powerful person and genuinely has control over snow with just 'tiny' ways like: decorating the house, clothes, food, anything so trivial. it starts out tiny, small, personal things but the influence gets bigger to the point that politics has to get dragged in.
somebody please humble this man, even though this is a bit ooc, i just need this man to lower a bit in my imagination.
yeah 1000% i’ve been saying this from the beginning and it will forever be my favourite concept!
whilst i don’t think coryo would actively want you to have any control over him, there’s not much he can do about it once the DEEP obsession kicks in. making people happy has never been his priority but then he has you and suddenly he needs you to be happy. needs to spoil you and give you everything you could want but it’s more from a place of thinking that if you’re happy you’d never even consider leaving him. which i think is a fear of his because he’d never let you leave of course but he’d never even want the thought to cross your mind. would feel like a massive betrayal to him.
so that kind of follows into you getting a little control here and there. if you slip something into conversation that you don’t like he’s automatically getting rid of it. problems with staff? they’re gone. don’t like the food? someone will make you something else. want to change the decor? go ahead. not feeling any of your clothes? here’s access to his bank accounts.
it’s definitely slow because politics and his overall plans for power would be things he strictly doesn’t want you involved in. sure he’s not got any morals but you’d still be his safe place and he feels like that should be protected. his time with you is kept separate from his work life but maybe one night he comes home extra stressed and you’re just there, offering him drinks and rubbing his shoulders and his problems all just sort of fall out.
now coryo isn’t expecting much. you’re his wife and have no experience in the ways of politics so he just expects you to listen but all of a sudden you’re coming out with these brilliant solutions, things he would never have thought up in his life. maybe it’s not the conventional way to do things - and by that he means his way - but he has to admit your ideas could work.
but that’s how it starts and after that when he’s really stumped he comes to you. talks it out and sees what you come up with. he always gets this grin on his face that’s honestly kind of menacing because you’re boosting his ego. like how did he instinctively pick a wife that’s not only beautiful but so, so scarily smart?? he must be a genius.
but when you’re talking about humbling i can honestly see the both of you at some fancy dinner and they’re all fawning over coryo, about everything he’s done for the capitol and the world and how amazing he is and you’re just sat there like?? those were all my ideas?? not his?? so then you’re all over him and asking him just how did he come up with these plans and coryo is just kind of fumbling for once and you’re just sitting there enjoying your wine and smirking <3
or you could go full girlboss and call him out in front of all the old loser politicians!

TEEN WOLF BRAINROT
so, i've been rewatching teen wolf bc apparently netflix hates us europeans and it will be removed on may 31st and here are a few of my opinions TM
scott is actually a very good main character. listen, i got into this fandom when i was older, so i probably don't understand why there is this trend of hating scott, but he's a valid MC! he shows an example of positive masculinity that is honestly so refreshing to see in modern media: he's kind, compassionate, always optimistic but not stupidly so, has an amazing relationship with his mum AND his friends, he's not afraid to show emotions and cry. honestly a very healthy, albeit traumatised, young man. yes, he did stupid stuff for the girl he liked, and yes he misjudged a few situations, but please, remind me, how old is he supposed to be? 16? 17? 18? yeah. i did worse things at his age.
scott and stiles come from working class families!!! they have money problems!! it's honestly so refreshing to see teenagers discuss money in a supernatural/fantasy tv show. it doesn't usually happens and I've found it refreshing because it's something that usually happen between irl teenagers.
i don't get sterek. really, really don't. maybe it's bc i've watched the show through a gen z lens (meaning the media and the culture (read: THE INTERNET) when i watched the show were influenced more by gen z than millennials' values) but i really don't get it. and the age difference makes me uncomfortable. (same thing with parrish and lydia, SHE'S A MINOR DUDE, there's a reason people don't like cops istg) SOMEONE EXPLAIN STEREK TO ME PLEASE
in fics stiles and scott's personalities are often swapped: stiles is the caring one, the pack mum, scott is the one with homicidal tendencies. like, my dudes, the fact that scott is a GOOD person through and through is the reason he's a true alpha. also the reason we, as viewers, like stiles is bc he's sarcastic and more morally ambiguous than scott (not really, but you get it, he cares more about himself and his immediate friends, the others can die, scott instead want to save everyone period), it's like taking away the thing that makes stiles stiles
malia and stiles were SO cute, i didn't expect to like them so much, but when they broke up my heart shattered
stydia is everything i want in a ship and i will not accept any criticism on it, it's literally one of the only straight ships i like. you have the slowburn, the malewife x girlboss trope, the he fell first but she fell harder, the mutual pining. it literally checks all of my boxes
isaac was such a cool character and he and scott had an amazing dynamic, like come on, they had something going on between them
kira is a badass. that's it, that's the comment. i like her so much
derek's development is one of the best. i couldn't stand him in season 1, but in s4 he became one of my favourite characters. but i think this has more to do with the fact that they aged him up? he was supposed to be in his early 20s in s1, but then they aged him up in s3? well, anyway, i liked how he literally wised up, stepping into the role of a teacher and guide instead of a leader, it suits him so much better (and i'm sure it's less stressful)
peter is such a charmingly evil bastard. i hate him, but i love him at the same time.
thiam is the best ship in the show, i don't care if it's canon or not. i've read airplanes, it's canon to me
we would've liked (simped for) s5 theo more if he had the same haircut he had in 6b. he was just stupidly hot.
allison and lydia should've kissed and so malia and kira. give me my wlw couples.

She's a girlboss who is sometimes a little vain but still loves her friends and will do anything to save her kingdom. Also she was in love with a guy since she was like 8 and he continuously rejected her, and then she found out he was in love with her archenemy. So yeah, she needs this.
She's kinda spoiled and high maintenance but gets better. I just think she's a fun character
i loved the land of stories series as a kid and i especially loved red because shes sooo full of herself and wears beautiful dresses and expensive jewelry and stuff (she became a queen lol) but also she does come to genuinely care for people and her friends and has a good heart (even if she does brag about it) she’s a very funny character x)
She’s a great example of how sudden fame and wealth at a young age can go to your head, and she gets great character development about it. She has an entire giant chamber in her castle full of baskets (it’s unfortunately quite flammable). My most favorite detail about her is when she finds a wolf pup in the woods, she assumes it’s a dog and names him Clawdius (yes, spelled like that). Everyone else knows it’s a wolf but no one wants to be the one to tell her. She learns the truth and gets over it and now Clawdius is her guard wolf. (Oh also she had the original Big Bad Wolf made into a winter coat, and that’s the original reason Clawdius came to her) I love her, she’s married to a giant frog man, she got elected queen, please vote for her.

Liveblog 4: Oh god this liveblog will have 50+ posts I now realize.
Unlike the previous episode, here, the ever present Schrödinger's city wall is real, though it is still different from the OP.
I could make a joke about all cops being pigs, and the fact that they are literally patrolling the streets in this episode to harass homeless people... but yeah that's exactly what's going on here, no jokes needed.
In 610-ish years, during Waven era, Joris Jurgen, then-regent and ruler of Bonta, will be waging war on the pig people, one that may or may not involve cannibalism on both sides. But for now, he is eepy, 7 years old, and being woken up by them. It's kinda like poetry, you know?
Don't know why, but that's a very good image of Keke. Exhudes a good amount of smugness.
Says the man who will proceed to do it for 600 more years anyway. Get boiled, idiot.
One of the thing's that's very consistent with Jurgen-Crepins is the usage of kicking and jumping in battles. There's a theme here. If they were actually ready and not being beaten up during the OVA, they'd be all over Ush, like fleas.
The thing is that, even if we don't know why Lou left, Kerubim and Luis probably do. Their every conversation is pretty suspect, practically screaming "I know something you don't :)", as many aspects of this show do.
Even if they don't know all the details, they know much more than we ever will.
So, a few tenets of the Lou theorizing:
She left sad, and unlike many other times, without any anger for Kerubim.
She left Luis with him to watch over him.
She also left Luis because he couldn't go with her, but that could mean many things.
She left after Ecaflip City, obviously, and at that time, their relationship seemed the healthiest. (Well, as healthy as it could be.)
Unlike all the other times, Kerubim didn't go searching for her. It seems this separation was final in a way no other was, and there had to be a reason that he didn't go and try to make up. An unsolvable issue.
Both Luis and Kerubim blame Kerubim, and the first one uses this to make the second one angry.
So, what is it that made her leave, and do Luis and Kerubim fully know? I have my own theories, after watching the show around ten or twenty times. They aren't answers, obviously. I don't think we'll ever get an answer from Ankama, ever. But there's no harm in spitballing. However, it'll have to wait.

The day I stop talking about how Simone is Joris's cooler aunt, is the day I die. She loves him so much just from one meeting.
Guy who is normal about Crepinlore voice: "Yeah, in the second episode? For breakfast, they're eating croissants, butter, jam, light tea for Kerubim and Simone, and milk for Joris, all of which is a traditional French breakfast. Yeaaaah, but this isn't as crazy as that time in a future episode where Joris pours chocolate milk into a hot drink which might be tea, hot chocolate, or cocoa. He is insane, you know."
Even as a child, his twisted and evil arc of drinking things through a straw has already started....
The face journeys this man goes on in these series are far more complex than even his twisted fucking cycling path of a character arc, and that's saying something.
Even by age 7 he is utterly deep in the boufbowl brainrot. Sad!
"The woman there didn't even like beer, which is a sign of evil." I love you Kerubim, but you really shouldn't have parental rights.
And yes. He does have parental rights. It's officially on record, even 200-ish years later. I guess that despite losing his back-up lives and developing a new, infinitely more insane parent-child bond, he and Joris never updated their papers to match the legend of Joris being his dad.
Even without meeting her, Joris understands that Lou was a Girlboss. That she scared the life out of his amazing and all-capable papycha. Her sheer power is indescribable, Lou fans stay winning, etc etc,
and yeah I want to boil her into soup too. I hate them both. (I say this with love.)
Anyway how many times do you think Joris has seen Luis commit violences upon Kerubim? Normal household. As was already proven in my 2nd liveblog.

Project “Let’s watch every single Fast & Furious movie”
The series is still finding its feet and not entirely sure what it wants to be. It has however decided that this one should contain a truly incredible amount of homoerotic subtext.
2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)
We check back in with Brian, who is street racing for a living in Miami now that he is no longer a cop. Ludacris, is here, for some reason. The FBI show up and put our boy over a barrel until he helps them investigate another crime ring, with his car.
The cinematography and general visual language is much more mature, they've figured out how to shoot cars driving and in particular races in a way that better conveys relative position, advantage, and speed. No more undercranked footage, much more medium to wide shots of cars weaving past each other, as well as some complicated composited motion shots.
If you look for this movie on Tumblr you mostly find gifs of Devon Aoki in her girlboss pink Honda S2000. And yeah, I get it, this look kicks ass. The leather skirt and thigh highs with garters or whatever that is really screams 2003.
Right, the plot. Even more so than last time, the core plot is extremely mid. Brian is over a barrel, and needs to help the FBI investigate a drug lord, in exchange for them forgetting about him. He doesn't trust a cop to partner with him so he gets them to offer a deal to his old boyfriend Roman, with whom he had a falling out many years ago. The two of them go undercover smuggling money for the drug lord and eventually work through their differences and get the guy. Big whoop.
Far more interesting is how the interpersonal relationship of Brian and Roman is handled. These two feel like a couple who dated all through high school and broke up over a nasty disagreement when they were 19 and never really got over each other. The first time they meet they physically throw down and it looks like this.
Just straight guy things. I made a crack about 2 bi 2 curious in the last post and I was like "someone has to have made this joke before" and a) not really it looks like only a couple tweets but b) it led me to this short video essay on a bisexual reading of 2 Fast 2 Furious. I don't agree with all its finer points and I think the author completely misread some sections of the movie but you'll find far more agreement than disagreement from me with this one.

Carrying on, there's a lot of the awkward "I want to trust you, and I know I should be able to trust you, but I don't trust you" between these two. It's great, if you want to watch two very pretty guys go insane over each other for an hour and a half, this is a movie for you. I'm going to reiterate a lot of what's said in this video because it's all very obvious.
Before we continue, I need to note that what you don't see, oddly, is really any kind of coherent heterosexual romantic subplot. Like, there's one there, they do parts of it, but it's almost homeopathic. It's purely there to check the box. Monica is an undercover cop who's been with the drug lord for like a year and, in theory, Brian is attracted to her. There's discussion of this, he checks her out, they make bedroom eyes at each other, the drug lord gets jealous, it's a whole thing, but mostly you see that Roman is worried that Brian is going to do something stupid because he's attracted to her.
In the above video the author misinterprets one scene as Brian sleeping with Monica but they do not actually fuck! She shows up in the early morning to tell Brian that he's going to be betrayed but they do not, in fact, fuck! This is important to me because man, there's so little of that subplot going on. This subplot barely develops at all, they don't talk to each other much, and when they do it's only the barest flirting.
At one point Brian does a driving stunt to impress Monica and when he's done, Roman pulls up and goes "oh, he did that stunt? He learned that one from me." which. Come on there's no way to read that that doesn't at least suggest that maybe Roman did it to hit on Brian when they were younger.
Speaking of car stunts, those are used to convey character a lot better in this movie. Dishonorable side characters drive in annoying ways in races to make themselves hard to pass, Brian and Roman do a whole elaborate game of one-upsmanship during their driving audition for the drug lord, and a doubles drag race with high stakes serves as a major bonding moment where they learn to trust each other. There's much, much less plot and character going on explicitly but I think the photography and the storytelling are working together more closely in this movie.
The movie seems to care less about the cars themselves though. The Lancer and Eclipse they drive for much of the movie are not particularly attractive nor particularly powerful cars, and the Challenger and Camaro they pick up later are more plot device than eye candy, unless you're really into American Muscle I guess. The initial race includes Suki's S2000 and Brian's Skyline that both very quickly end up sidelined, you don't see much of them again. There is much less time spent in garages and at races here, which is part of why the core plot feels like a lot of other action movies where the protagonist is a criminal helping the cops. I wonder if some of this is down to appealing to a wider audience who may just not give a shit about the finer distinctions between the Honda Civic EF and EX hatch.
There's a beautiful sunset scene where Brian and Roman just talk it out for a few minutes and settle their differences, come to terms, and finally trust each other again. I know I'm pretty much only talking about this one relationship but it's pretty much the only part of the movie with any depth, and the other parts only gain value in their proximity to it.
The final sequence is a huge endurance run across Florida that is a lot of fun to watch and includes a very funny scene where they scramble like, a hundred cars as a distraction to throw the police off. If you watch you can see that they really just grabbed whatever cars they could find to pad out the shot, there's like three or four PT Cruisers hidden in here.
The final run is mostly a show of the reformed trust between these two, it's great, it's a decent culmination of what's been building up through the whole show, they get their freedom, together, and resolve to move on together.
The whole movie really hangs on this relationship, it elevates it from a solid 5/10 "absolutely mid action movie" to a 7/10 "compelling characters you will think about later" type deal.

Following up on this MAN'S DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO RIDE A BIKE. His mother thought that it was a waste of time, the topic probably was brought up when some Heartslabyul studs where reminiscing on old childhood memories.

This is an open invitation to "talk about the Bible in a chill way". I'd be fascinated in your chill Bible opinions.
okay this is lowkey such a late answer to this but recent chill bible opinion has some context to it. i'm religious but in like a weird way i don't super want to get into, but basically i read the bible for the story aspects: the morals taught, the themes within, etc etc. i don't really view it as a strict religious instruction handbook, more so as like . stories meant to teach lessons and morals. kinda. its complicated!
erm. im so glad u asked tho
anyway! more importantly, i'm reading the old testament right now, and something that deeply bothers me is that i find the stories in early genesis deeply fascinating, and yet incredibly not dived into at all! and i think that's a shame, because there's so much interest and tragedy in the story of adam and eve, and in cain and abel, together and alongside adam and eve. i just think there could've been so much more done with the first ever family on earth, that is really never dived into popularly or well in adaptations. which is like chill EXCEPT for the fact that i think there's a lot of . persephone and hades tumblr bullshit going on and let me ELABORATE!
eve is a fascinating character to study as the first woman, and there's a lot to be said about eve, which is why a lot of modern looks at her that depict her as a #slay girlboss that ate the apple on purpose or as like . cheating on adam with lucifer . and i also don't fuck with the very long history of her being treated as though she's stupid or wicked or a transgressor. basically, what i'm trying to get at is that eve wasn't stupid for eating the apple, she was lied to, and in her defense, no one had ever lied before. quite literally she was the first to ever be lied to, ever, and she cannot be solely at fault for being tricked. i think it's hard to argue that eve shouldn't have fallen for it, because she was in such an incredibly unique, quite literally never happening before situation. i just think that depictions of her as a scheming seductress will never be as feminist as people think they are, because the core of eve was not someone looking to like . stick it to the man . she was curious, and trusting, and i refuse to blame her for searching for something new, because if god did not want man or woman to long for knowledge, he never should have create sapient beings 🤷
that was a long, kinda rambly way to say that i think genesis, despite being a really interesting book especially pertaining to eve, adam, and the fall, and especially relating to what could be said about abel and cain, and abel, cain, and THEIR PARENTS!!!, fails in a lot of ways as a book. mostly because of the lack of expansion on any of the interesting parts of the early story. i dont gaf abt how adam lived for 930 years. i gaf about adam and the horror of raising children and loving them and that still not being enough to save them from each other or themselves. it must have been horrifying to see your children, both your first children and the first children ever born, suffer and die, one at the hand of another and one at the hand of your own father. like idk eve adam and the horrifying fact that their sin (mistakes) passed along to their child and could've played a role in his own sin (devastating mistakes) and what you do as a parent when you realize that loving someone isn't enough to raise them perfectly and keep them safe.
but yeah sure . adams a weirdo misogynist and eve is a girlboss that cucks him with lucifer and abel and cain don't matter or exist. okay. epic.

Alpheratz: he is going to tease Spica forever for this.
Sirius: he laughed for the entire video. It's just a pure gold comedy for him.
Vega: is recording Sirius laughing for the whole situation just so he can replay his laugh when Sirius turn come.

Arcturus: oh boy, this gave him heart attack. It explains the song introduction.
Spica: slander Sirius for it such as "that's what you get for stealing someone's man." he is enjoying this.
Pollux: almost cry to be honest. Image seeing your friend from another universe got beheaded by Summoner from other universe. He doesn't like it anymore. Also, it explains why Vega hold his laughter for the whole time.
Alpheratz: that took turn really fast. He thought it's just hilarious story but oh boy. He was wrong. Probably won't be able to sleep for a while after seeing a guy you dislike got beheaded.
Sirius: drop his smile as soon the song getting darker in beats. He is mad at his other self for marrying the other Summoner.
Vega: literally replays Sirius laughter a lot of time just to pissed him off. Everyone started to think Vega is a psychopath for smiling throughout the video.
Heart of Stone - Arcturus as Jane Seymour.
Arcturus: he is crying. He feels bad for his own son from another universe and also himself. They have something in common which is hope.
Spica: Spica was like, oh this is so Arcturus and yeah he was right. Almost drop a tear but hold it. The song is so sad for him and it sadden him more to see Arcturus in that universe hoping for Summoner's love is permanent.
Pollux: he is crying like a baby to be honest. Had Alpheratz as his pillow to wipe of his tears. Arcturus is so sweet in every universe.
Alpheratz: crying mentally on the inside. He won't make fun of anyone who cry at this song because it's cryable.
Sirius: the situation is so tense even for him so he tried to bright up the mood with patting Arcturus's back. Vega slap his hand though.
Vega: he slap Sirius's hand because he's the one who want to comfort Arcturus.
Get down- Alpheratz as Anna the Cleve
Arcturus: this song teach him the term of gaslight, girlboss and gatekeep. He really like Alpheratz attitude in there.
Spica: "why can't you be more like her?" he said to Alpheratz with a grin. Marriage that didn't last for a year, oh how he love to hear scandal.
Pollux: regret calling Alpheratz in that universe an old lady. In fact he is admiring the other Alpheratz more than the original one.
Alpheratz: proud of himself. He frowned at Spica's comment and said "Image getting divorced because you're old." Spica all frowned at that.
Sirius: he secretly proud- yeah a big surprise. He likes this song more than his own.
Vega: still surprised that Alpheratz as Anna the Cleve. They both have huge difference personality but it's funny to see Alpheratz acting like Girlboss.

Arcturus: he was wondering why Vega insisting on throwing Pollux to his room again. Oh boy, once he heard the song he felt his heart shattered to pieces.
Spica: he is glad he shove Pollux back to his room. Even if Pollux is not that innocent, he can't handle another crying person. Arcturus already have his eyes red from crying. It was disturbed and sad.
Pollux: still wondering why the hell he can't listen to the song and why when he came back, Arcturus and Alpheratz won't stop stop hugging him.
Alpheratz: he was disgusted at those people who harassed Pollux from another universe. He even scream when Pollux was beheaded for false accusations. Once he get out from here, he's going to treat both Pollux and Arcturus a nice meal-
Sirius: had his jaw dropped the whole time. He really doesn't enjoy this anymore. Yeah all of it start with nice stuff but this? It's too much even for him.
Vega: he feel bad for both Kathryn and Pollux in that universe. Vega is a big fan of Kathryn back in Middle Eartheim when he was learning England history

Arcturus: Vega voice is very majestic and he is proud of other Vega too. This stopped the whole room before it get flooded with tears.
Spica: really glad everything come to the end. He hopes from the dead one rest in peace-
Pollux: is proud for other Vega for not needing her husband love anymore. Listening to Vega's singing wanting him to karaoke with Vega again.
Alpheratz: they both have huge difference personality. Somehow, Alpheratz commenting to Vega for the whole video.
Sirius: "hey, how come he gets the cool part?" -Sirius 2023. Still not over the fact he got beheaded.

THE BASTARD OF CAMELOT [REVIEW]
-PART 1-
I been told to start with this one. "The bastard of Camelot" by "Llamagirl" in itch.io, using twine.
So another Arthurian IF, nothing new, nothing original, but with the diference that we get to play as Mordred, it seems.
I must admit that I am curious to see how this story unfolds.
If done well, it can always be an interesting perspective, living the story through the eyes of the supposed villain or outcast.
Without further ado, let's get down to business (Spoilers included)
PROLOGUE
Well flowery prose is going to be a thing, but I don't see as something necesarily bad.
We start with the scene of a Morgana, girlbossing the whole court of Camelot, because she can.
Let's assume that the baby she's carrying is Morded, who will be the MC, but the scene serves quite well as a prologue.
It's fun to see Arthur's reactions, possibly questioning his life, and the fact that a hottie made him go full Alabama, without realizing it.
Let me tell you that I must break a lance in favor of King Arthur here. Okay, the guy was hot as balls, but that doesn't justify that Morgana knew very well what she was doing. I hope the game doesn't try to justify this. So the one who screwed up was Uther, not Arthur. But well, I'm seeing that she'll be a great mother by now.
So basically, the kid will not be reconigzed, yadda yadda. It's me or we gonna have a Evil Merlin this time? Well, I look forward to it, once again. It may be interesting.
I don't know what are the author intentions, but Arthur looks like a good chap to me. I mean it seems the game is gonna take an actual quite realistic approach to the whole political thing, which I'm already grateful for already. Too many if go into weird cartoonish systems, or the typical "peasants are dumb" by default. So I can understand the whole "let's hide the kid identity"
Morgana is not exactly winning many points with me, she is almost hysterical. Like, lady pls calm down, and think of your child.
But we need the drama. Give to us.
I mean, okay I can understand she is angry, Uther was a complete asshole, but hell how is this Arthur's fault? The man wasn't even there. Like seriously my woman.
Tbh I never been a fan of the Sins of the father, unless the child are like 100% okay with what the parent did, and doesn't seem to be the case. And now we even get prophecy time. MC is totally gonna fuck over Camelot they say.
Chapter 1 & 2
Okay so get start at 6 years old. Tender age with mommy dearest explaining stuff to us.
Well I gotta say that what this IF is doing right, is basically writing a child properly. And in the IF world that's not a easy feat. The smol Mordred is annoying, so this means the author is doing a great job.
I knew Morgana would give me my vibes. Woman is hellbend on this useless revenge of his, to the point of ignoring her own child wishes. I should have expected that. Let's have a child to use them as a tool, what can go wrong.
Well it good to see that Junia's doesn't seem to agree with Morgana's bullshit. Well I'm Junia right now, I don't dislike Morgana at all, but woman what the heck are you doing.
Oh heck yeah, I'm not letting see your father, but I'm gonna abandon you at 6 for a fucking month, because my delusions are more important. Talk about motherly priorities here.
Good to know she is fucking the knight.
I feel bad for Mordred tbh. Lesons at 6. Man that's rough. Let the smol child go outside and play. They have rights.
Oh but of course "mind controlling" is seen as something positive by Morgana. This woman is far gone, I tell you.
You know you may be fucking up, when even your friend questions your bullshit.
Too much skin options for my taste, but hey, hurray for customization.
Once again, it's good to know Morgana has been shit talking Arthur to their own child. WOMAN PLEASE STOP. Ofc Junia is here to save the day. Like I'm sure the man ain't perfect, but hell. That's an ass move.
You can't never have a fantasy history, without the local "church" being assholes.
I like the Merlin child. She is cool. Looks quite mature.
So now we are finally going to the continent, and of course all mother dearest can think about is, CONQUERING THE PLACE.
It's good to know that we got another father, that we don't know about EITHER.
Well a bit of bullying and a bit of roughing. Just another afternoon. It's time for some fireworks I guess.
I love Morgana enabling the violence.
OKAY NANA IS THE MOST BASED CHARACTER, SHE GETS IT.
So there was another child. This woman is literally trying to take children to Avalon ignoring the parents. Someone call Arthurian social services. We got a grave case here.
So, you isolated your child, and now you want them to be friends with the other child. Oh yes, nothing wrong here.
We gotta meet our dragon, wowie time.
FINAL TOUGHTS
Okay I gotta admit this have been a good read. I didn't notice I was finishing chapter 2 already.
The prose is flowery but it's easy to read too, and I'm must admit that I like how the character are getting fleshed out (The main ones at least) it's good to see everybody has a different valid perspective. The customization options were entertaining, but they don't seem to affect the narrative, or at least not yet.
It's good that I didn't get a lore dump, the author seem to be taking the "show don't tell" at heart, which is something positive, specially on a fantasy setting.
So In general, I look forward to see how it gonna go from there. I hope there's a timeskip, no matter hoe well written, being a kid can get boring.
I can't wait to be able to interact with the Camelot knights and Arthur himself, and see which options are avaible.
And with this, I finish the first part of the review.

It already bugs me how nfcv turned vampires into murderous elves and like, Im already very picky with how the belmont's role in Dracula's resurrection cycle is treated, so if i have to deal with a "oh the belmonts are soooo mean and prejudiced , stuck in their violence cycles with the pwoor little vampires who only want to predate humans, so unjustified :(" i am gonna explode
I'm seeing a little too many posts making fun of the Belmonts for being stupid, pathetic, or weaker than other characters such as Alucard :)
(even making fun of the Belmonts in the show is not very. not very nice? who are you mocking? a man suffering from alcoholism who lost his family at a young age because the church hated them? a woman murdered in cold blood by a monstrous vampire to protect her son? said son who watched it all when he was a child and still suffers from ptsd? an old man who also saw his wife and best friend murdered by a vampire? i'm sorry but it reminds me too much of the people who make fun of hector for being raped and enslaved - c'mon guys try to engage a little deeper with the narrative, don't get spoonfed with your brains turned off)
Yeah, the show likes the villain vampires too much, as long as they're hot or women. Dracula's treatment is a little ambiguous, as he got painted as a stupid grieving man for a whole season, but he did get his nice happy ending and people think it was deserved because "get yourself a man who loves you to the point of committing genocide for you <3". Carmilla is a #girlboss and you should stan her as such (same with Drolta but she died very soon lmao), Lenore is a sexy mommy and you should feel bad that she sunned herself in the end because boohoo why didn't she live happily with the man she raped :< Olrox is so hot when he fucks a templar man so feel bad for him when he laments that the mean Belmont lady killed the bf he turned against his will :<
And never forget about Alucard siding with the vampires because the Belmonts are "mentally ill hoarders" who keep the skulls of vampire children, which we are meant to see as actual children and not as poor human kids turned by vampires. Imagine the real Alucard, the one who went to sleep for centuries to remove Dracula's bloodline from the world, priding himself on his vampire heritage. the absolute bruh.

☕️ + Rudolf Affaire Mayerling’s vs Mayerling Ballet’s depiction of the story!
I still haven't watched the ballet in its entirety so I'm going off of the Wikipedia summary and scattered clips 😳😁
Affaire Mayerling, in my opinion, completely fails in depicting the story in a thoughtful way and there's no good reason for it to exist as a musical except as a cash grab after Elisabeth's success. XD I think the problems mostly lie in
- The show being conceived of as a grand life-changing love story between Rudolf and Mary (historically they only knew each other for a very short time & it was 17yo Mary being basically a fangirl and throwing herself at him & Rudolf being a toxic adult man and seeing nothing wrong with this lol. It feels inappropriate to speculate about historical figures' relationships but I shall just say that I don't think it was a grand love story. I think it was two depressed people making bad choices and enabling each other with no grander agenda than self-destruction.)
- The thematic wonkiness that results from this approach - ie. their "love" is special and super romantic because they take their own lives together. Gross! I can't watch the finale scene because it makes me want to throw things every time. They also added Mary being interested in Rudolf's politics to portray her as more of a girlboss, which is also historically very eh to me (one of Rudolf's main tragedies imo was that so many people dismissed his political views, which made him feel like his life had no meaning).
- Why is Taaffe here LOL. The show tries to shoehorn in some wider political context but I feel like the way it does it is unrealistic & playing into conspiracy theories 😭 This is also why I dislike the song 'Conspiracy' in Elisabeth. There's no solid historical evidence for Rudolf conspiring with Hungarians, especially not to crown himself King of Hungary. Same goes for Taaffe trying to bribe Mary to leave Rudolf. I get that they want to add drama but it gets super iffy when it plays into conspiracy theories (Hungarian nationalist ones in the case of the conspiracy & Mayerling assassination theories re: the Mary thing).
Now for the ballet :D
I think that it's less messy for sure - more female characters whose relationships with Rudolf are rendered in more detail. (Elisabeth is there & more Mizzi & more Stephanie & Mary's unrealistic idolisation of Rudolf is actually shown). It does have historical inaccuracies that annoy me - Mary being introduced to Rudolf soon after he married Stephanie (she was actually 10 years old at the time of Rudolf's wedding...), Rudolf and Steph's marriage being unhappy from the start, and most egregiously, Mizzi betraying Rudolf and running off with Taaffe (???? Slander??? Mizzi Kaspar did not try to single-handedly save Rudolf's life & protect his memory after his death for the rest of her life for this. Also I feel like this is playing into the treacherous courtesan trope).
But I feel like the ballet has more reason to exist than the musical does, and considering that it was made in 1978, it kind of baffles me how it managed to be a more complex and fair portrayal than a musical made in the 2000s. It does still simplify things for the sake of storytelling (a direct confrontation between Rudolf and Taaffe, Rudolf never having positive relationships with any women ever lol), but it doesn't actively play into conspiracy theories in its portrayal of the incident or romanticise Rudolf and Mary's relationship to the same degree. Most Mayerling adaptations (and even most media discourses about the event in stuff like newspapers) do really emphasise the connection between violence and mental illness, and I'm not quite sure where the ballet stands on that... in any case, I'm really happy that Elisabeth exists, because it means there's at least one adaptation where Rudolf's mental illness is portrayed as chiefly hurting him emotionally (and his loved ones, eventually, considering Totenklage).
So yeah, TL;DR - Ballet is better for having more female characters with more complex relationships with Rudolf and less invented political drama. (Oh, the ballet also has Bratfisch, Hoyos and Loscheck gjldkf so I would also consider that a win).
