Another one based on Inuyasha Downs’ Tweet. Someone had an even funnier idea and I couldn’t resist.
Tumblr media
Technically, the anime version of Inuyasha was incomplete, but thankfully the Final Act came out to complete it (although a few arcs were skipped). But then they tried to add more but it resulted being a cheap badly written crap.

How do you feel about the new hny chapter?
I haven't read it yet lol Usually someone posts a link to a google drive with all the pages but I couldn't find one today. I've only seen panels out of context!
I've seen this tweet which translates a few pages and I LOVE that Inuyasha calls out Sesshomaru for being a deadbeat dad. The way Inuyasha says "He's missing out on all the fun!" like he genuinely loves being a dad it makes me cry 😭😭 I love that we got to see Kagome holding Moroha quite a few times too.
There's this panel where Inuyasha got injured and Sesshomaru carries him... BRIDAL style... it's very weird and I don't like it LMAO
Anyway I'll have to wait for the translation because I have no idea what actually happened and why Inuyasha and Kagome ended up sealed.

Yashahime sesshomaru is a pedophile and shit ass father (confirmed)
Rin is unfit to be a mother (confirmed) and is a child. They unconvincingly try to cover their ass but refuse to prove otherwise
Everyone is ooc, the story is sloppy, all over the place, contradicts and retcons the original material and ITSELF...
If anyone truly loves inuyasha, they will avoid this sorry excuse for a cash grab and pretend this CONFIRMED AU/NON CANON story does not exist

Yashahime should have never happened
Were the writers REALLY so desperate to have Sesshomaru sire babies with an established character that they looked at the goddamn 8yr old girl he took care of in the original series and went "YES, SHE WILL DO"

Sessrinner love to say that their ship is so popular and that everyone is watching the show for their ship yet if it’s so popular why couldn’t yashamine not get a third season, why is it that sesshomaru and rin were in a lot of episodes of yashamine yet they never trended like inukag, and why is it that after episode 15 viewership dropped. Let’s be honest season one of the show made no noise yet season 2 literally went unnoticed. Yashamine was a horrible sequel and deep down the creators now that.
Even if we were to overlook the problematic aspects for a moment (grooming ship, bad parenting, white washing, slavery etc) and look at it just as the bare bones of what it is (a sequel anime) it’s still not good. Let’s do a list, shall we?
The animation is trash. It’s clunky, rushed, clearly recycled from the main series and from its own episodes, bad uses of CGI, inconsistent models and a plethora of mistakes, awkward frames and cheap colour rendering. The choreography for fights and use of magic and abilities is as cookie cutter as it gets. Y’all know the bad 2000’s Mary Sue stereotypes for how baby’s first fanfic would play out a fight scene or give their character new powers? It’s that.
The designs for new characters aren’t good. The colour stories for the twins just blend together and don’t really stand out. The red stripes of hair exist for no reason. Setsuna looks like a walking bruise and Towa looks like she owns a plantation. Take into account the bad animation and any interesting detail in their designs is lost the minute we’re not in a closeup still shot. Takahashi apparently had some input into the designs and you can clearly tell where her priorities were as Kirinmaru and Moroha have the only passable designs in the show.
Speaking of Kirinmaru and Moroha, they’re the only decently written characters in the show even if they too fall victim to how bad the writing is overall. Moroha is a joke. She’s there to be funny, make mistakes and get hurt cuz funny and provide forced exposition when need be that a joke character should not have. I’m not calling Moroha a joke, I’m just saying that’s how she was treated yet they couldn’t even do that consistently. The entire OG cast is so bland and what characterisation they do get is so OOC that the writers might as well have not tried in the first place. As for the twins, these girls went to the “male brown haired character in a harem” school of characterisation and passed with flying colours because they’re incredibly flat and any opportunity they get to express some sort of strong emotion is not only jarring but quickly forgotten.
The soundtrack is nothing remarkable. What’s new and original feels flat and recycled and what actually is recycled isn’t in the best quality. If you listen closely, you might be able to hear the original episode of the OG anime that the soundtrack was screen recorded from. Something that made me kinda sad to note was how the OG soundtrack samples are the only ones that have any heart in them.
Which brings us onto voice acting. This goes for both English and Japanese. Whatever Towa and Setsuna’s actresses were paid, it clearly wasn’t enough because they just couldn’t get into their roles or emotions of the characters at all. The alternative theory is these actresses are actually some of the most masterful in the business and they read off their godawful scripts in exactly the non existent tone they were handed to them. Everyone else sounds like they’re really doing their best to be involved and earn their pay checks but that’s literally all that motivates them. It reminds me of how tired and disinterested James Earl Jones sounded in the Lion King remake.
The story goes nowhere, which is kind of incredible considering how obviously Sunrise is trying to mirror the original while insisting it’s all new and fresh and like nothing fans have seen before. Speaking of what fans have seen before, don’t include so many obvious references to the original and insist your fans must pay attention to everything if you’ve got no idea what you’re doing from episode to episode. Simpsons and Family Guy put more thought into continuity than this show does. At least if this was Family Guy or Simpsons with their characters who are Flanderized, horrible people, we’d at least have SOME characterisation and an element of self awareness this show sorely lacks.
All this to say that even with the clearly problematic elements removed, this anime still doesn’t hold up well, especially as when it was being released, you had other continuations also in the field like the latest seasons of Attack on Titan, MHA and One Piece still coming out, along with other proper sequel anime like Boruto, the latest part of JJBA or Higurashi, all which blow Yashahime completely out of the water.
This show never stood a chance, to be honest. I remember it being advertised when I was using Funimation and it would usually be a 30 second trailer right next to an ad the same length for Higurashi or Demon Slayer. Even then, the difference in quality was stark.
I almost feel bad for the show…and then I remember it condoned and allowed child grooming, abuse, racism and sexism and, much like any memory of this show in a year or so, any sympathy I have fades away.

Description: Request by huntersmoon1 on tumblr: I have been inspired by inuyasha/yashahime! Can I request a scenario for tsukasa shishio as a demon (I’ll let you choose what kind of demon he is) in inuyashas world with his young half demon daughter. They get sucked through a portal into the stone world where Senku and the crew are (after stone world tsukasa gets revived) and demon tsukasa and his daughter meet stone world tsukasa and company.

There is a theory that every decision spawns a new universe. These are called parallel universes, and if each decision spawns a new one they should, in theory, slowly become unique universes. For example, if Chrome throws a rock at Kohaku there is a universe where he doesn’t, and a universe where she throws the rock at him, and a universe where they don’t even exist.
Tsukasa thought drunk Senku was making things up. Maybe spent a bit too much time with Gen. How did he go from Chrome not throwing a rock to Chrome and Kohaku not existing? The scientist had passed out before he could ask, and Tsukasa didn’t care enough to ask later.
He’s starting to think he maybe should have.
“And this… machine… brought us here?”
“We’re still trying to figure out how,” Xeno said, flipping through his clipboard, “it was only designed to transfer data. Bringing physical beings here is a complete anomaly.”
Xeno looked up at the man and noticed Tsukasa out of the corner of his eye. He waved him over. “Tsukasa, thank you for coming.”
The man’s ears twitched, and his tail flicked aggressively, as he turned around to see the new arrival. His ears quickly flattened against his head, as he took up a defensive pose that Tsukasa matched just as quickly.
Xeno, who’d turned back to his clipboard, completely ignored the two as he spoke again.
“Tsukasa Shishio the human, meet Tsukasa Shishio the demon. Tsukasa Shishio the demon, meet Tsukasa Shishio the human.” He paused, looked up at something behind the demon Tsukasa, and spoke again, “Mirai, meet human Tsukasa.”
A young girl cautiously poked her head around the demon Tsukasa. The demon placed one hand protectively on her arm, keeping her tucked behind him, even as the human Tsukasa dropped his guard. Mirai gave a small wave before clutching Tsukasa’s cloak and hiding her face in it.
“Oh, Tsukasa, I see you’ve met our new friends,” Senku said, strolling up to them with a yawn.
“I suppose there’s an explanation for this?” Tsukasa asked, waving at the two doppelgangers.
“Magic.”
Now that was a word he never thought Senku would use.
“Magic?” Tsukasa raised an eyebrow suspiciously. “Can’t everything be explained with science?”
“Different universe, different rules.” Senku shrugged. “Anyways, you’re on diplomatic duty today. No one knows you, better than you after all.”
Without any further explanation, the two scientists headed off and left the three alone.
Tsukasa tried to look around the other Tsukasa, only for his view of Mirai to be blocked by the man’s tail. Mirai, in turn, went up on her toes to look over it, her ears twitching curiously. She stared at him intently for a moment before looking up at the demon Tsukasa.
“Papa,” Tsukasa’s eyes widened before scrunching up in confusion, “he smells like you.”
---
“So, she’s your sister in this world?” Shishio, the demon Tsukasa, asked, watching as his daughter and the other Mirai hunted for shells along the shore.
Suika had joined them, letting Chalk dig around in the mud and find hidden shells for the girls. She was positively thrilled at the idea of watching two Mirai’s as the two Tsukasa’s talked.
The human Tsukasa nodded. “And she’s your daughter?” Shishio nodded, watching as his daughter squealed and threw a shell as a crab crawled out. The two chuckled. “And her mother…”
He wasn’t really sure what he was asking. Was it someone he knew in this world? Did anyone from this stone world even exist in the other world? Maybe Mirai’s mother wasn’t even alive anymore.
“Never mi-”
“She’s no longer with us. She was human, and believe it or not Mirai is almost five hundred years old.”
“My sister is over three thousand, appearances can be deceiving.”
“For a world lacking in magic, it is quite impressive.” His light tone turned solemn as he asked, “Your Senku, how much faith do you have in him?”
“I owe him my life, he will do everything he can to return you both to your world.”
“Very well.” They fell into silence for a moment, watching the run away from the tide as it washed back up, before Shishio made another point. “This,” he waved at the two Mirais, “is incredibly strange.”
“Most definitely.” Tsukasa agreed, before the two started laughing at the absurdity of the situation.
“Big brother!” Mirai, the stone world Mirai, yelled, waving at the two. “Come play with us!”
---
By dinner time the two girls, and Suika, were completely exhausted to the point they were falling asleep at their table. They would slowly slump down until their heads knocked against each other and they startled awake again. Shishio had already draped his cloak around them, like a blanket, to keep the cool evening air out.
Tsukasa was pretty sure the half-demon Mirai was purring.
“They're so cute,” Ginro cooed, and startled the Mirais awake again, earning himself an elbow to the side from Kinro and a shush from Minami.
“If you’d like I can take them to bed,” Francois offered, removing their apron as they returned from delivering meals to the scientists.
“It’s alright, we’ll take them in a minute.”
“You know,” Yuzuriha said, “seeing you all fatherly isn’t as weird as I thought it would be.” The sharp look from the two Tsukasa’s made her jump as she rushed to explain herself. “I-I mean you take su-such good care of Mirai, I didn’t mean anything bad I swear.”
“She’s right,” Minami hummed, resting her chin on her palm. “It’s cute.”
Out of the corner of his eye, Tsukasa notices Shishio’s ears turn slightly red. Oh, he feels his face heat up as he coughs awkwardly.
“I think we should get these two to bed.”
“But you aren’t done your dinner?”
“It’s fine,” Tsukasa said, scooping his sister up as Shishio picked up his daughter with a  chuckle.
“If they aren’t gonna finish this, can I?”
“Ginro have some manners.”

"SeSsRiN iS cAnOn, GeT a LiFe AnD mOvE oN"!!!! cit.
Rumiko Takahashi NEVER said that Yashahime/Sessrin are canon, Sessrinners are living in their own delusion as usual because litterally every canon source tells otherwise but of course they prefer to ignore this truth. Rumiko, after Yashahime was out clearly stated that Sess is Rin's "hogosha" aka guardian/parental figure and in her recent interview also clearly stated that her series, ALL OF THEM, are over. She never acknowledged Yashahime as Inuyasha's canon sequel, we were never told by whoever to consider Yashahime part of the Inuyasha canonical storyline as if Rumiko herself wrote it unlike J.K.Rowling did with the Curse of the Heir that unfortunately is canon. On the contrary, on the Yashahime OFFICIAL WEBSITE is clearly stated that Yashahime is nothing more than Sumisawa's au scenario. Even the author of the YH manga adaption explained on a Twitter post that his work is merely his PERSONAL INTERPRETATION of Yashahime. So basically it's a doujinshi inspired to a fanfiction. These Sessrin pedos stupidly believe that given that Rumiko approved these works means that they're magically turned canon, but just so you know she needs to approve everything related to Inuyasha because of legal rights. She also approved the movies and the drama cds (remember the Inukik one?) but this stuff is never canon and never will be. Toriyama also had to approve Dragon Ball GT but it's still not canon. The day Rumiko will wake up and publicly announce we're supposed to consider the YH series and manga as canon then it's gonna be set in stone, but canonical sources tell otherwise and contraddicting themselves now would embarass and make them look like clowns who're not able to make up their minds. So no, not gonna happen. Not now not ever, sorry. Also, Rumiko never remotely hinted in her CANON story that Sesshomaru and Rin would be lovers, nor that Sess's feelings for her were remotely romantic when he showed to care for her. On the contrary, she always called out pedophilic behaviors in her story, when Miroku asked that 11 yo girl to birth his kids, all the other characters were disgusted as it should be. And Rin had exactly the same age when Pedomaru proposed to her in that disgusting drama cd that again, wasn't from Rumiko but from Sunrise.
So... nice try pedos, but no, your garbage pedo ship will NEVER BE CANON. You can cry as much as you want, just enjoy your fanfiction/doujinshi crumbs and go back to the sewer were pedos like you belong 🤷‍♀️😘
There's an Inukik one???
And yes, that's on point with what we've been saying for the past 3 years and even before that.
Also, even if it's not canon I dunno why they can get so up in arms "Like really? That's gonna stop you from shipping your THING? That is not canon. You gonna die because of that?" If we go by Anastasia's source, (*a person who worked animating some parts of HnY*) and that first leak— it's implied they were more "mom" options on the table and that when present with the idea of "Rin" mostly everyone on the meeting rejected it except ofc you know whos that kept pushing the idea (and we know that backfired). So, let's say it was Kikyo, or Kagura, or Sara Asano, or even Kagome, or EVEN some random woman.
It would still have been non-canon... 🤷🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️
Facts.
Unless RT says otherwise, it would still be non-canon.
And even if that had happened. I have a feeling they would be rustled at us and the studio for not choosing theirs. Tbh, why care about that? Even if you ignore the saucerib in HnY. The rest of the thing mostly f*cking sucks. They had HnY on the backburner for years after TFA and they couldn't come up with decent writing? They would've f*cked over my ship or the others like they did theirs and InuKag's. The people I know here can come up with something better in a one shot in one day. Hells, weren't they tagging #justiceforsessrin on twitter because they hated how it turned out at the ending?
At this point I don't really give much about HnY. As long as they stay in their little corner and stay off my sh*t I won't give Fs so like I've told em before:
"Block me".
I just want to focus on my headcanons and writing skills to Git Gud. I'm more mad that thanks to a guy with a Loli fetish this fandom isn't what it used to be.

Random SessKag thoughts for the day...
One of those things those of us who sit on the SessKag side of the Inuyasha fandom constantly see is the following: "I just don't get SessKag! The pairing doesn't make any sense!"
What if I told you that a chunk of us SessKaggers would agree?
I'm serious. Looking at the true canon material (not Yashahime), there is arguably nothing there to attest to any sort of romantic relationship interest. And I'm the SessKagger who would argue that if another SessKagger is saying otherwise? Yeah, those are shipper goggles. To each their own - but shipper goggles.
So, if this is the case, what makes people flip over to SessKag?
In short, it's the stories themselves. Not just any stories. But the ones that don't pretend there was something there before when there wasn't. It's the stories that take two unlikely characters and make them experience something that flips their known world on its head and changes the path of their lives. And this is a necessary story component because what existed canonically before isn't enough to make the case for the pair.
But, in the end, these are the stories that manage to do just that and give people pause, making them go, wait a minute, that works. Why does that work?
Briefly? Good plots and character development. Never underestimate the power of character development. Giving one of our canon characters an arc that is done well enough to justify a change in themselves or a change of heart is needed. And when it's done right? It's not OOC because the argument for why this was a reasonable outcome is tied right into the process of developing the story.
While there are always exceptions, we commonly see a recurring mention of particular stories among SessKag fans that brought them over to the ship. Resmiranda's Tales from the House of the Moon and RosieB's Beside You in Time are two such examples.
More often than not, these ship-changing works are stories that would fall into the category of epic fanfiction - 200K+ word undertakings that span conflict, adventure, and then the eventual romance built through the experiences they bear together. They are huge creative works and make the case for the pairing by taking the time to do it thoroughly.
And in the end, esp. given the plethora of issues that are intrinsic to Inuyasha's canonical pairings, new SessKaggers make the flip because these stories just did relationships better. That's not to say that other pairings don't have stories that do similarly. In fact, given the problems with the canonical relationships, I truly hope they do - because they all need a starting point for making things make better sense.
But I spent years as an InuKag fan. Die-hard. Wrote and everything, though that's a penname I now leave to the wind and hope doesn't resurface because I was younger then and cringe at the writing. But the second I was exposed to an epic SessKag piece? The moment it sucked me in? I flipped sides. And it was because SessKag simply did it better. And overall, as an "older" Inuyasha fan now? I've found SessKag to also typically account for matters that are more mature and more pertinent to where I am in my stage of life. There's all kinds of fanfiction out there to enjoy, and it should be enjoyed. And because this is not a dissertation, there are going to be more generalizations in this post about fanfiction and the ships than I'd like, so consider that, please. But the one thing about SessKag that has always stood out to me is the ability of some authors to make a case for what truly is an unlikely, non-canon pairing. And they do it so well that it opens up an entire new world.
There's so much more to be said involving character analysis, psychology, and how these things mash together to further make a case for the pairing when it's done right. But if you're one of those who sits back asking why? I would suggest starting with and epic SessKag fic. Yes, it's a time investment. And even among those, not all are the same.
But in the end, even if you do not jump ship, it might help you understand the why a little better.
Maybe not. And if that's the case, don't yuck other people's yum and whine about it on social (barring shit like S*ssR*n, but that's another topic of conversation with different implications). Enjoy your ships, and stop being concerned about why other people enjoy theirs.
Unfortunately, I'm going to include yet again the all assholes, pedo-apologists, and child abuse apologists will be immediately blocked warning as standard anymore because one side of the fandom can't bothered to act like adults anymore.

19) Shibugarasus, Toads, Kumogashiras
Tumblr media
So the demons Inuyasha fought were actually aliens!? 🤦🤦🤦
20) The giant bug with Naraku within
Tumblr media
And not just Inuyasha, also Sailor Moon
21) The Rainbow Crystals
Tumblr media
- The Silver Crystal was split into the seven Rainbow Crystals so as to seal away Seven Great Yōma. And as Sailor Moon shed a tear for her lover Tuxedo Mask who was mortally wounded, it caused the seven Rainbow Crystals to react and merge into one, forming the Silver Crystal itself. - As Zero shed a tear onto the Sacred Jewel, upon learning the death of Toga whom she was fond of, the seven rainbow pearls came out of it.
22) Chibiusa and the Door of Time
Tumblr media
- Chibiusa has a key that leads to the door of time which leads to the future, and she was being hunted by bad guys. - Akuru has a pinwheel that activates the windmill of time opening a path to the future, and he was being hunted by Kirinmaru.
No question in those two because Katsuyuki Sumisawa was involved in the first anime version of Sailor Moon and in the same episodes in which the rainbow crystals assembled and Chibiusa took the Sailor Warriors to the doors of time (episodes 34 and 82).
I know there are some similar materials and characters designs in Rumiko Takahashi’s manga series, but that’s from one work to another that she does some reuse and she still comes up with original materials which makes her mangas differ a lot between each other. In the case of a continuation of one story, it’s really pathetic, which is one of the reasons why Trashahime was a cheap what if made by amateurs.

i heard trigun reboot become huge hit revied fanbase and i dont know if sunrise would react
Well Yashahime did revive the fandom for a while, until everyone realized it sucked and left again.
Tumblr media
I watched the first episode of Trigun Stampede recently and it is so good. I also listened to a podcast with a producer for the series and you can tell the reboot was a huge passion project and a lot of love and care went into it. It's not like Yashahime which only happened because producers wanted to make money and Sumisawa basically had to be forced to come up with a story 🥴 If we had a PROPER reboot that followed the manga and was made by people who actually respect the canon story (NOT Sunrise) I'm sure it would revive the fandom too.

*SessRin Drabble*
Rin and Sesshomaru's expanding family has Myoga seeing red.
Inspired by Myoga's appearance in chapter 17 of the Yashahime manga. He just can't get enough of that Inu blood.
Ao3
Flea
The flea was ecstatic.
Sesshomaru’s wife was expecting twins! His opportunities to taste his dearly departed master’s blood (even in diluted form) would soon be doubled!
Myoga rolled from side to side in jubilant anticipation, four arms clutched to his stomach. Oyakata-sama’s blood!
Please inherit your mother’s kindness! he prayed, dreaming of benevolent hanyos sweetly begging him to take his fill. “Drink freely, Myoga-jiichan!” they’d cry. “For your loyalty to the dog clan!”
Rapturously, he sucked.
A hand smacked down hard and his deflated body was met by blinking brown eyes.
Perhaps Rin was not so gentle after all.

Things I'm absolutely adoring about the Yashahime manga so far:
Setsuna and Moroha growing up beside one another and having a close friendship.
Towa being a slightly clueless but enthusiastic person who rushes head first into things only to regret it soon after.
Protective papa Sota.
Moroha calling Towa a fool just like how her father Inuyasha called Kagome a fool the first time they met.
Setsuna being completely displeased by Towa and refusing to believe that they're twins because Towa sucks at fighting.
Grandma Kaede, just knowing that she raised the girls and is affectionately called Grandma makes me stupidly soft.
Moroha living up to the Inuyasha tradition of knocking on doors and saying things like, "Yo Grandma Kaede you alive still?" and receiving responses of irritation from Kaede like, "I'm not dead-! Quit being so loud!" Lowkey living for it.

Pretty sure that delusional Sessrinner is stalking your blog, their salt and insecurity is showing because deep down they perfectly know that Yashahime is not canon so they feel the need to shove their delusions down your throat.
If Yashahime was truly confirmed canon by its authors (but they clearly stated it's merely Sumisawa's au scenario on the official site) or by Rumiko Takahashi herself, they wouldn't even waste time with us. Like, when it comes to the Harry Potter fandom, unfortunately J.K.Rowling stated that the Cursed Child is canon so it doesn't matter how many ppl hate it (me included), it stays canon.
Contrary to that, a series like Dragon Ball GT, was very unpopular in the DB fandom, pretty sure there were ppl who at least enjoyed something about the show, but still doesn't make it canon. Yashahime is the DBGT of the Inuyasha series, ppl have all the right to enjoy parts of it, parts that the OG canon series doesn't show (like Inukag's married life with a daughter) but still ppl's enjoyement doesn't turn a series canon when it's not. Inukag fans can enjoy Inukag+Moroha as much as they want but she's still a character that belongs to a not canon au, just like Towa and Setsuna who exclusively exist in Sumisawa's scenario, not in the OG canon plot. And we Inukik fans can enjoy the Inukik homage as much as we want, it's still not canon.
I honestly don't know if this idiotic anon is playing dumb or they're actually stupid, still whatever their situation is, Yashahime isn't nor will ever be canon because even its authors never acknowledge it as such. They'd better suck it up and move on with their pathetic pedophilic fantasies.
First of all, I love the InuKik community. We’re so cool. Everyone wishes they were as cool as us.
But exactly yes; the concept of official but non canon content isn’t new, not even to the Inuyasha fandom. There was that one cool videogame that had some really good ideas and concepts. Neat, sure, but not canon. All three of the movies? Also not canon despite having some cool stuff in them. Every single filler episode? Not canon. Yashahime is no different just cuz a group of weirdos wanna see a 13 year old marry a grown man.
