Technically, the anime version of Inuyasha was incomplete, but thankfully the Final Act came out to complete it (although a few arcs were skipped). But then they tried to add more but it resulted being a cheap badly written crap.

And even though Yashahime, is not written by Rumiko, I can't not forgive her and I don't have to, despite her supposedly seeing Sesshomaru as a hogosha. She was in it for the money!!! If she had morals she would not have a problematic track record.

So raisin’s long awaited Shiina Sessrin chapter finally released and it confirmed that Shiina seems just as dedicated to butchering Sesshomaru’s character as Sunrise/Sumisawa did. I can’t believe the fandom is still simping for PedoShiina when he’s aptly demonstrated through this chapter alone that he makes the characters just as OOC as Sunrise did. Between Kagome “being jealous” of Sessrin and wishing Inuyasha was a more romantic husband like Sesshomaru (as if she herself hasn’t always been Inuyasha’s single biggest fan and would never dare to make him feel small by comparing him with Sesshomaru, his racist brother who tortured him in his youth, also rather than “envying” Sessrin she would be the first one in line to shoot an arrow through Groomermaru’s Pedophilic ass) and now him actually having Sesshomaru be the one to make the first “move” towards Rin and say incredibly sappy OOC stuff like “Rin is my everything” - it’s clear he doesn’t understand these characters any better than Sunrise.

Also his incessant need to continue making callbacks to “child Rin” during the “Sessrin” chapters and having Rin outside say she worships Sesshomaru like a God… 🤢🤢 At least it proves something the entire fandom has always been knew: They were not and never will be equals. Rin isn’t some strong girlboss ~QUEEN~ who wears the pants in that relationship like her fans self-inserters claim. she is an infantile child who was groomed by her guardian who she will forever hold up on a pedastal as a literal God and can see no flaws within him because he was the first/only person who ever gave her a sliver of kindness, and thus she feels she literally can’t say no to him.

Shiina's take on SR is him taking a bandaid 🩹and trying to stop a leak💧on a dam with it. Cause it's pretty obvious he knows about the backlash with all his statements. We went from anime loliconmaru using Rib as a creepy experiment cause he was curious about what was like to love and being a dad to "he made advances on her but actually Rib was the one who started it by seducing him with "Did Rin grow up? 😉😊" Stuff like that. I've already talked about this in the Sesskik Discord but Rin believing Sesshomaru is a God/Kami—Shiina took that from the wide-ban volume interview RT did about Rin and Jaken. Which btw, as you can see she makes clearly here what Rin was meant to be (and it's not what the romantic kind. This was before the Hogosha one)

And another call back to the "child". Interesting how Rin is supposed to be an adult, all we getting on this thing is references and personality of her being said child 😑.

I'm not surprised. Since "adult Rin" seemingly doesn't exist. Manga "adult Rin" doesn't even look like herself. It's like Shiina took his mouse, clicked cut on Kagome, took her to Photoshop and then called it a day. I'm sure the Sesskag Fandom had good laugh about that.

I'll say this. I'm not gonna name or whatever but I'm gonna say it. If you love this fandom and don't want it to finish going to a Oblivion like it has recently these past few months... Don't Support this. Stop giving it ratio. Just cause it's giving you some crumbs of said characters' daughter. And I adore said character mind you. Plus the villain. Hells, he even called pedomaru out for bad parenting and being awful. He had potential. But really think about it.

Like at this point I barely even see even stuff from my favorite characters. Because most of it is a constantly barraged out of the algorithm with unwanted CP SR in various positions unless I block it cause that's all they think about their ship while simultaneously constantly making week celebrations just to be able to trend cause they can't even make the official polls without bots...

Don't give your time on that. There's a ton of people in this fandom. Who are amazing and can do better content in a day that even Shiina, or Pedosawa, or even RT will. From Sesskik, Sesskagu, Sesskag, SessSara, SessNara or just Sessh himself while also being a cool single dad cause that's also valid and fits his character completely. As well as content about the other Inuyasha characters. The twins don't even look like their own "mother" so you can even imagine the mother as someone else.

Even a little ❤️, like, or comment for any of those content creators is enough. By showing support to the original series and people who truly love and understand these characters, I swear you'll be happier in the long run as well as peace of mind. We already got that anime fanfic cancelled. Plus don't let sinners try to censor you with lies, or try bully you into accepting their ship in social media. If they want to ship it that badly they can stick to their corner and stop harassing peeps who have the minimist disagreement about it or ship something else. They constantly diss other ships and make up stuff to attack others, yet they expect us to stay quiet about theirs and their antics 🙃

That being said if you're ever feeling like shit about this just remember. Even Shiina knows "it's not canon". This is his "doujinshi" of that original animation. Yes, it's an official product but it isn't part of the main continuity that is the original Inuyasha.

The og series ended in June 18, 2008, with an ending that had enough openness to interpret whatever you like on what happens next

And that's the canon ending.

Yashahime is just one these. It's a bad one. OOC. An insult to the original. Destroyed the development of main characters. I know. RT didn't even write it. But in the end you choose. I already did and I announced it back for my pairing's weekend so look forward to it once I'm able to publish it, hopefully. if you're interested it on my imagination about it.

Sessrin is too triggering for me, that I can't separate it from the Inuyasha I once loved so much. My only choice is to completely forget Inuyasha and my memories with it. I thought I was doing fine until someone mentioned the sequel in real life and I felt panic and sadness. Truly: FUCK the weirdos at sunrise who for some reason wanted this piece of shit ship to sail so badly that they ruined a whole fandom, a character, and a legacy for it. #loliconmaru Rumiko should've fought harder.

I’m truly sorry your enjoyment of the show has been ruined. I’m rewatching it atm and as much as I’m still enjoying it now, everything Sesshomaru does, every time he’s on screen, especially with Rin, just has this icky feel to it.

The creators and fans of SR really thought they could try to legitimise what has always been the definitively most reviled pairing in the fandom, especially in Gen Z’s landscape, and pass it off as acceptable. It didn’t work. They took a huge gamble that bombed spectacularly and for what? To ruin a classic beloved series as a whole?

Fuck Rumiko by the way. I’m not surprised she didn’t fight against any of this with how often she took the opportunity to draw her underage heroines naked.

People keep saying Sessrin is canon because of Rumiko Takahashi's involvement in the Yashahime sequel.

Did she design Moroha, Setsuna, and Towa? Yes but she also designed the characters for the Inuyasha video games and those are not canon. She also designed the twins without a mother in mind so no, she did not know they would be Rin's children.

She also drew a "sessrin" family to promote the Yashahime series but that doesn't mean anything either.

She drew this image to promote the first Inuyasha film when the movies are considered not canon.

There's also the fact that she stated that she saw Sesshomaru as Rin's hogosha (guardian) in an interview.

Also nothing in the original manga implied that there was romance between them, even at the end Sesshomaru was still looking after Rin by sending her gifts such as a kimono in the last chapter (558.)

And as much as I love Rumiko Takahashi, she has her flaws and was likely only in on the idea of a sequel for the money. You can argue that the sequel wasn't that successful but tons of new merch was made in celebration for it and attention was brought back to a series that died in 2012. I'm sure she made a profit from this dumpster fire.

So what’s Sessrin shippers excuse now?? Rin is literally the same age her daughters are... Is this really the “Happy Ending” Sessrinners wanted? Sesshomaru doesn’t seem to care for Rin AT ALL and impregnated her when she was 13...DIDN’T EVEN LET HER LIVE AT LEAST A BIT OF HER TEENAGE YEARS!! And then took and left his daughters,ruined Inuyasha and Kagome’s future like wow gotta love that development,and now does nothing about it but just watch Rin sleep basically as his slave in the tree.

I hate chapter 15 for many reasons, and this particular scene makes me sick. Every single thing in this scene is wrong:

1.- Starting with the obvious fact that Sesshomaru groomed Rin, and got her pregnant when she was 14 years old. That alone is completely gross.

2.- Kagome and Sango seem to be okay with this. Kagome and Sango, who were against Miroku asking Koharu to have a child with him when she was 11 years old. Kagome and Sango who still saw Koharu as a child when she was 14, seem to be okay with Rin's situation. This is completely wrong; the real Kagome and Sango wouldn't have let this happen.  3.- Kaede, with all the wisdom of her age, and all the affection she has for Rin (whom she also helped Sesshomaru raise), does not seem to have intervened either.  4.- Kaede, Kagome, and Sango, three of the most empowered women in the series, allowed the grown man who cared for Rin to groom and impregnate her. This is simply unthinkable. 5.- Rin, who is a teenager, has just given birth to twins. That could have put her health at serious risk. But still, Sesshoumaru doesn't look worried, nor does he ask how she is. Does Sunrise expect me to believe that this is the same Sesshoumaru who was so worried about Rin that he almost cried when she was in mortal danger because of him? Is this the Sesshoumaru who was so happy that he knelt down to touch the face of his little adopted human daughter when she was revived in Kanketsu-Hen? I don't think so. 6.- Sesshomaru didn't even deign to acknowledge Rin's greeting before taking her newborn daughters away. (Yeah that was so cute and romantic, Sunrise). And if all that wasn't enough, Rin behaves and is still treated like a child: when Sesshomaru arrives, she greets him cheerfully, but he ignores her.  It´s only when Sango (an adult) questions him, that he deigns to answer. And when Kagome (another adult) asks him to wait, he stops. The only person he ignored was Rin. Even Kaede tells him that he is an "idiot", and suddenly this little scene turns into a brief conversation between ADULTS. And who is not included? That's right, Rin. Look at this picture, Rin is even visually excluded. Because she is still a child. She speaks about herself in the third person, the same way she spoke when she was a child. The dynamic between Rin and Sesshomaru remains the same as when she was a child as well. She just accepts without question everything Sesshoumaru does.  Just everything in this scene is wrong. It's almost as if Sunrise wanted to put together everything they could to make this scene the WORST scene of their entire fanfic-sequel (for now, because there are still some chapters coming and I think they can make it worse).  This simply cannot be considered canon.

Edit: Guess I’ll put this in here since everyone is just glossing it over to look for the negative parts. I never said you couldn’t ship SessRin. I never said I was anti-SessRin. I know I tagged it as such, but it isn’t because of my opinion. I have friends who ship SessRin. I love those friends. What I mean by these statements is that the community in general is toxic because of the people in it who have caused problems for others. Like, for example, the person who felt the need to jump me about my personal ship because it wasn’t with Rin when I wasn’t even talking about a ship. Or the people who harassed the English voice cast to the point that even they were calling the SessRin community toxic. Or the people who are fighting to have any Sesshoumaru shipping blog deleted if Rin isn’t involved. I am capable of peacefully sharing Sesshoumaru with other shippers if they could be civilized. But since they aren’t, then I feel like I have the right to speak my mind. And those of you who feel the need to fight me about it are just proving my point because you’re so worked up that anyone could have a different opinion that you absolutely have to argue. That being said, I also stated that I would never have said a word about this if it weren’t for the fact that Rin is underage in Yashahime. Sunrise is trying to lie about how much time passed. They clearly didn’t do their own math. And while I’m fine with SessRin shippers who ship her as an adult, I will not tolerate the people who justify her being underage in Yashahime. Also to those trying to argue about Yashahime being canon, I would love to provide the evidence to the statement I saw, but it’s gotten lost in the sea of people arguing about the show being canon. It was something along the lines of her saying the story wasn’t canon or wasn’t hers but the three girls were and that she was washing her hands of InuYasha and other’s could do what they wanted with it. Which kind of implies it’s not canon but she doesn’t care. If I find it again I will definitely share it. But if Rumiko steps up and actually says the show is canon, then I’ll accept it as canon. But that doesn’t mean I’m okay with Rin being underage. But go ahead and continue to comment with your ridiculous arguments. New edit: @tiny-foots​ It’s not what I saw but I was provided this where Rumiko stated InuYasha was complete within herself meaning the story was done. She left it up to Mr. Sumisawa to write. Take it as you will, but I see that as her giving the okay for a fanfic to be officiated. But I don’t see it as canon. I suppose that can be left up to interpretation. But my personal belief is that it’s not canon. Even before all this I never even saw the original anime as canon.

I am going to start off by saying that I always said I would never be anti-ship. But if this is what it's come to then I am completely against what is happening right now.

Let's just pretend my OTP isn't actually my OTP right now. What I ship has nothing to do with this. In fact I am a multi-shipper, so don't even think about that. This is beyond more than my personal shipping opinions. InuYasha was my comfort series during a very rough time and Sesshoumaru is my favorite character because of his massive character development and redemption arc. He is an astounding character.

The fact that Sunrise has "officially" (I refuse to say canon because it's not canon. Rumiko said so. Fight me!) paired him with Rin is the most disturbing and disgusting thing they could have possibly done. Again, I am not against people who do ship them. If that's what they enjoy then that's fine.

HOWEVER!

The SessRin community is toxic AF! They have been for a long time and now they've been given a reason to really be horrible people. And that's only one reason why I'm disgusted by this entire thing. And mind you, since Yashahime isn't canon anyway, I wouldn't have cared as much if they hadn't done it the way they had. Let me break this down for you. I'm going to list why SessRin is unhealthy, toxic, and morally wrong and I'll even list some of the justifying arguments shippers have tried to use to support it and explain why they're wrong too.

Pairing Sesshoumaru with Rin destroyed his character development and redemption.

Sesshoumaru's father had a strong desire to see his son learn compassion. Toward everyone! Humans and youkai alike. He learned that lesson through both a human and a youkai. Rin and Kagura. These were the characters who were meant to teach him to be compassionate toward others. By pairing him with Rin you have taken away that compassion that he learned. It's like sticking a giant middle finger up to all the humans he was supposed to learn to respect and say he only tolerates Rin and no one else. There goes his redemption! Way to go, Sunrise!

SessRin was never meant to become a thing.

Rumiko went out of her way to create a bond between Kagura and Sesshoumaru as well as Kohaku and Rin. It's clear who we were meant to ship them with. These characters were placed as a barrier between Rin and Sesshoumaru to avoid an improper ship. SessKagu is the ONLY canon Sesshoumaru ship.

No child in their right mind grows up to fall in love with the man who raised them from childhood.

And if they do then they need to seek counseling because that's not healthy. A normal child would grow up to view that man as her father.

And how about these lame and unjustifiable arguments that SessRinners are throwing out.

"He waited until she was an adult! She's 18!"

Do some research. She is not 18! Look at the the facts that have been compiled. She is 15 MAX. She's underage!

"This was normal back then!"

No it was not! Again, do your research! Nobility groomed children to be wives, yes, but it wasn't normal. Even then the girl wasn't bedded until she was an adult. Also, would you portray a black person, in media, as an abused slave in 1800s America by your story's "good guy" and say it's okay because it was normal back then?  I don't think so!

"They were meant to be together! It was a given! It was clear!"

Again, no it wasn't! Kagura was placed in the story for this purpose! She was in love with Sesshoumaru and he was falling in love with her. They are the ONLY canon Sess ship!

"Well, you're forgetting about the original series being about a 15-year-old girl getting with a 50+ year old man!"

There are so many reasons why this is an illogical statement. - InuYasha and Kagome met when they were mentally the same age. Sess and Rin met with he was mentally a young adult and she was EIGHT! - Kagome and InuYasha didn't have an official relationship until she returned from her time after three years... WHEN SHE WAS 18! - Every moment in the original story where Kagome was in an inappropriate situation she got mad and did something about it! She didn't just giggle and let the men around her ogle or touch her! - And my personal opinion, I also believe InuYasha and Kagome’s relationship was toxic anyway, so don’t try to hold that one over me. There’s a reason I’m a multi-shipper.

Who’s putting words in her mouth? She stated, in an interview plain as day, that Yashahime was not canon! She didn’t write it. An official publication does not canon make! Not to mention “the woman who changed him” is such an incredibly vague statement. If it was meant to be Rin, she’d have just said Rin. As mentioned before, she was very adamant about pushing the Kagura x Sesshoumaru ship. And Kagura definitely changed him. Was it not his compassion toward her specifically that regained his arm and gave him a sword? I’m pretty sure “the woman who changed him” was meant to be a vague statement because the canonical intention was just to leave it open to interpretation and is probably meant to be some random village woman who bonded with Sesshoumaru and ultimately completed his change.

And if, by chance, she did mean Rin, she didn’t say it was canon. Just that she was his wife meaning that is who Sunrise set as his wife in the show. Think about it? She was answering the question of “who had his children in Yashahime.” If she meant Rin, she was avoiding spoilers and giving a hint to who Sunrise chose as his wife. That’s not saying she would have picked Rin, herself. She didn’t write it. So it seems to me that you are the one putting words in her mouth.

Now tell me, if your best friend from grade school who was adopted told you when she was a teen or even an adult, "My dad's hot. We decided to sleep together." would you not find that disturbing? That's SessRin right now.

Also:

HANYOU NO YASHAHIME IS NOT CANON! THIS IS PER RUMIKO TAKAHASHI HERSELF! DO NOT TRY TO JUSTIFY THAT SESSRIN IS CANON NOW BECAUSE IT ISN'T! IT'S JUST AN OVERGLORIFIED AND POORLY WRITTEN FANFICTION!

ONLY THE MANGA IS CANON! OG SESSHOUMARU IS THE ONLY SESSHOUMARU!! That being said, I still say if you do happen to be a SessRin shipper, then you do you. Enjoy what you want. But what is happening right now does not give you a right to justify any toxic behavior that your community is expressing. Again, I wouldn’t even be mad if Sunrise hadn’t portrayed Rin as still being underage. I won’t stand to see people justify this!

The Loliconmaru (ロリコン丸) tag exploded after today's episode. There are *a lot* of posts.

Most of them are just stating that he is Loliconmaru, but with no personal feelings attached to the posts. A good number of these types of posts end with a sort of "doesn't this make him Loliconmaru," or "he is Loliconmaru" type sentiments though, but those are vague in their actual meanings.

Some were happy about this (🤢) and some were upset / angry about this.

One post was even about siblings fighting over this (the sister said he was a lolicon, and the poster was using the whole "it was normal back then and he is a demon," etc. etc. arguments). Another post said, "Not Loliconmaru, but Pedomaru."

Another said, "Loliconmaru and Neglectmaru."

Yet another said, "He is legit Loliconmaru."

There are a lot of reactions. One is just "oh...13...Loliconmaru." Another saying how "it was fine in that time period, but..." sorta sentiment, another mentioned like even if it was a gag, it's kinda.... Yet another, "Loliconmaru, perhaps you forgot about Kagura?" Even one comment that like congratulates him, still calls him Loliconmaru.

There was also one post that was very clear on their feelings on this: "I *hate* Loliconmaru. I don't want to watch HNY."

I figured I'd compile this post to show that there are some fans that are not okay with this in Japan, and even if they are, they are still calling him a lolicon.

Byakuya refers to Rin as Sesshoumaru's "little girl" in the final arc of Inuyasha. Sounds like a father-daughter relationship to me.
