Listen, l i s t e n, every few months or so I get reminded of this scene that happens after Aymeric drives a bunch of angry rebels out of The Vault, and I go completely feral with emotions
Edmont tells Aymeric this won't be the last time that happens if the current political climate continues as it has been, and that he needs to make sure to take care of their people and of himself, then drops this line. and just walks away.
Aymeric is standing there stunned and awkward trying to be appropriately honored by a grieving father who's also right about the politics of the situation, and apparently unlike Edmont has probably not forgotten that Artoirel is right there.
Artoirel steps forward behind Aymeric to follow his father, but before he passes the point where Aymeric could see him
he stops still and turns his head, obviously conflicted and gathering himself, and the camera focuses entirely on his face even though he hasn't got any lines in this scene at all. the father he respects and admires is obviously not bearing up well under all the recent changes, and just all but adopted a surrogate for the beloved son he's recently lost without even acknowledging his eldest son's presence. not even so much as a look. his father needs him now more than ever. his father is taking him for granted and always has.
he probably daydreamed as a child about the relationship he might have had with Edmont if Haurchefant wasn't there to be the favorite, and now he has the bitterest proof that it would never have been better, is not going to get better.
and he still walks after his father, away from Aymeric and Lucia and the gathered Scions. Edmont never looks back to see if he's coming, but he is. someone still has to hold this family together.
The Fortemps family are so fucked up you guys. the drama of it. it just makes me gnash my teeth and wail every single time.

Fanon I hate: Bruce beating up Dick to force him to fake his death and join Spyral. When I finally read the actual comic, I realized I’d been so misled by fanon. What actually happens in Nightwing (2011) #30?
Bruce and Dick fight — but on purpose. Not quite sparring, because they don’t pull their punches, but also not out of anger or an argument. Bruce is still upset about Dick dying, and wants him to do better and not let himself be killed again (yeah, okay, Bruce).
Then they have a long discussion about whether Dick should join Spyral. Bruce says it’s necessary to save all the heroes, Dick says he doesn’t want to hurt his family. They go back and forth on this a few times while they continue to fight. Dick eventually gives in.
Dick isn’t beaten into submission. He actually wins the fight. They’re not fighting because Bruce is using his fists to force Dick to join Spyral. They fight as a background activity while they have a difficult argument. They’re both profoundly violent people who go out every night to punch people in the face, and their relationship with each other was built during training to fight and then fighting side by side. So that’s the most natural way for them to communicate. It’s weird as hell, but it’s not Bruce being an abusive asshole.
(Don’t get me wrong, he is an asshole here. He’s fine with making everyone in the family believe Dick is dead as long as HE knows Dick’s alive.)

Lake paused midway through her efforts to burrow under the fluffy comforter. A host of thoughts and questions sprung to life in her mind. Was he saying this to establish that he only saw her as a friend and that she needed reminding that this would be entirely platonic? Had she missed some sort of communication and he uncomfortable with this? Was she more into him than he was to her? Crap. She sat up. It probably would be good to go check the wards.
"I don't think so. I've shared a bed with a friend before." She omitted that she'd drooled in her sleep on said friend, unimportant detail. "Why doesn't Jon count?"
