Black salt
My recipe for black salt + a bonus protection spell.
Tools:
Dish for black salt
Cauldron/fire safe dish
Charcoal round
Ingredients:
Parsley
Rosemary
Eggshell powder
Red pepper
Black pepper
Sage
Bay leaf
Salt
Protection oil
Set the charcoal round on or in your fire safe dish. I used my mini cauldron. Use a lighter or match to light it until it sparks 💥. Mix Parsley, rosemary, sage, red pepper, and black pepper together. Dump your herb and other mix onto the charcoal round and let it burn. I put a few drops of protection oil onto the top. I then set a bay leaf on top and light it on fire to burn it.
After all of the herbs are ash I usually have some of the charcoal disk left. From there I crush up the charcoal and mix it with the ash from the protection spell.
I mix pink salt in and eggshell powder then I pour it into my salt dish.
‼️ Ventilate your space, open windows when burning shit ‼️

Sacred Oak Oil
Tumblr media
We are about a month away from Samhain so I figured I'd share a few suggestions of my favorite Samhain blends. These are merely my suggestions so don't be afraid to add a little bit more or less of this or come up with some terrific concoctions of your own.The first one is a sacred oak oil.I remember when I was a child my granny would take us kids to gather oak leaves and acorns for this oil.We always had so much fun foraging with her.She would explain what everything was and why she used it.I sure do miss her .Anyways here's the recipe..
Sacred Oak Oil
1 cup broken up oak leaves
1 cup grape oil (sunflower oil will do also)
2 pinches of salt
A couple of acorns
Blend ingredients and simmer on low heat for about 15 mins.Remove from heat and let it cool down. You can strain it or leave it as it is.Put in container. To charge the oil bring it into your sacred space or your method of choice charging items. Now the oil can be used to charge and anoint items such as candle..etc..
Samhain Incense
Blend 1 tablespoon of each of the following..
Nettle
Bayleaf
Tarragon
Sage
Calendula
Crush oak leaves
2 drops of frankincense or myrrh

Uncle Alabaster's Chicken Dumplings
For @doodle-mochi who is sicky, and who I am unable to cook for cause they're so far away!
INGREDIENTS
Boxed Chicken Broth x4 (We are cooking for left overs)
1 lbs of chicken (bone in or boneless, skin on or skinless) [healing, strength]
Salt to taste [cleansing & purification]
Pepper to taste [banishing, cleansing and purification]
Carrots [grounding]
Celery [grounding, peace]
Scallions (or onion powder) [endurance, healing, prosperity]
Garlic to taste (cloves, minced, dried, or powdered) [banishing, cleansing & purification, healing, prosperity]
Canned Biscuits
INSTRUCTIONS
In a stock pot pour your chicken broth and let it begin to boil. Add salt, pepper, and garlic, then add your chicken.
Once the chicken has fully cooked remove it from the broth and cut it into bite sized pieces before adding it back in.
Add your carrots, celery, and scallions. If they are fresh give them time to boil and soften. Now is also the time to taste test your broth to make sure it is seasoned to your liking.
Once your veggies are nearly soft open your biscuits and begin breaking them and rolling them into little marble sized pieces. Begin adding them to the pot. Place lid on pot and return occasionally to stir the dumplings into the soup. After 15-25 minutes your dumplings should be cooked sufficiently!
Ladle into bowl and enjoy!
Happy Eating!

Basil Lime Sugar Cookies
This is another recipe for kitchen magic. Basil is super helpful with just about anything- protection, health, joy etc. Mixed with lime I would say these cookies are good for a pick me up and can be charged to be a mood booster.
Tumblr media
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of butter (softened)
1 1/2 tsp lime juice (to taste tbh)
1 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
1 3/4 cup of all purpose flour
1 egg
3/4 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp vanilla extract
Fresh finely chopped basil (I used like 10 leaves)
1/2 tsp salt
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375°F
Beat together butter and sugar until combined
In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt
To the butter/sugar mixture add egg, lime juice, vanilla extract, basil and salt. Mix
Slowly add dry mixture to the wet mixture and mix until combined. Dough should not be sticky to the touch
Line cookie sheets with parchment paper
My cookies did not spread out too much so you can place them relatively close on the tray. Just roll into a ball and place them wherever (May differ for yours so calculate your own risks)
Bake for 15-17 minutes until slight golden color at the bottoms. The cookie itself should stay pretty light so look for cracks along the top.
Let cookies rest on baking tray for two minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Additional Notes:
With any kind of kitchen magic it is what you make it. I charged all of my ingredients before baking and while mixing thought of the intentions I wanted behind them. They were quite literally made with love.
Merry Yuletide Loves!

Low-Effort Golden Milk
I saw a recipe for golden milk on Quincy's Tavern TikTok, and I decided to give a it a go with the ingredients I had around the house but being in a low-functioning depression stage right now I was not about to use the stove.
Here's my depression friendly take on Quincy's recipe :)
Ingredients: (Only 3!)
Milk (whole works best imo but any type of milk is okay for this)
Tumeric powder (If you don't have any on-hand these same-day options from Amazon are good: McCormick Turmeric Powder and Golden Milk)
Honey to taste (sweetener alternatives work but honey dissolves the best)
Optional: Chocolate flavoring (I personally like to add Rebbl Chocolate Protein but it is a bit of an acquired taste 😅)
Making It:
Get a microwave safe mug of your choosing! Size of the mug of course depends on how much milk you'd like. Fill the mug most of the way with your milk, if you are going to add the optional chocolate leave some room in the cup.
Add 1 teaspoon of turmeric. Turmeric can be a strong spice so always taste test before adding more!
Microwave for 30-45 seconds. My microwave is an absolute beast so it doesn't take long- you don't want to curdle the milk but a film on top is okay.
After microwaving you can add in your chocolate flavoring of choice and honey to taste! If it isn't warm enough pop it back in for another 30 seconds.
Woooo 🥳 you now have golden milk!

Blueberry lavender syrup, pictured here plain and then mixed into a bit of milk
Add 3 cups water, 1.5 cups sugar, and 2-3 cups washed blueberries to a pot. Mix well and bring to a boil. Add 3-4 tsp culinary lavender. Simmer for 5 minutes, then take off the heat and let the pot sit and steep for an hour. Strain the mixture through a cheesecloth, et voila! Store in the fridge

Shielding Spritz Recipe
This spritz is something I use almost daily. It can be used to boost shields, to initiate the formation of a shield, and as a shield itself. What’s a shield? Simply a barrier to protect you from ill-intended energy or something to protect your energy reserve throughout the day. It can be highly personalized to your needs, sometimes I shield with the intent that people won’t notice me, like I’m a fly on the wall. Sometimes I shield with the intent of intimidation, coupled with a glamour spell for intimidation and unapproachableness. But most often I use shields to protect my energy reserve from being drained, to keep my mind clear, and to keep my necessary energetic barriers up.
How to use this spritz? I spray down my veils before I use them. I also spritz this in my hair on the days I don’t veil. You may also anoint your forehead with this water, or spritz it into the air and walk through it.
Now, the Recipe!
Components:
spritz bottle
water (distilled, bottled, purified, spring, pH, moon, just use what works for you and suits your intent. i usually used bottled spring water)
dried yarrow
shield essential oil blend (I got mine from Mountain Rose Herbs, but you can make your own from clove, cinnamon, thyme, lemon, and rosemary essential oils)
bergamot essential oil
a protective sigil
optionally, some high proof alcohol to help it last longer on the shelf or in the fridge
Putting it all together!
Cleanse your bottle however you see fit. I like to wash with lemon water or lemon scented soap and water, dry in the sunshine, or i will wash with soap and water, dry it, and smoke cleanse. whatever works!
Add your water of choice. don’t fill it up all the way, you’re going to be adding dry herbs and oils and potentially a capful of high proof alcohol later on.
I will add bergamot for a sense of being in control of myself. it’s an energetic oil, being that bergamot is a citrus, so for me it assists me in being able to control of my energy.
I will add my shielding blend from Mountain Rose Herbs. if you don’t have this blend or all the essential oils to make this blend yourself , you probably have at least some combination of lemon, rosemary, cinnamon, clove, and thyme somewhere in your kitchen! use that. dry herbs work well in lieu of essential oil blends. This concoction is made with the intent of shielding. It’s components are protective, clarifying, and energetic. Nothing is too intense in this blend, and I like that.
I will add dried yarrow. Yarrow is good for setting and upholding boundaries, energetically, emotionally, and physically. It’s also a good herb for promoting restraint, so I can decide when is a good time to pull from my energy reserve and when it’s best to step aside and removing myself from unnecessary conflict or sour situations.
I will draw a protective sigil on my bottle to label it as well as charge the mixture with that protective quality.
Optionally, you can add some high proof alcohol to your mixture to help it last longer on the shelf or in the fridge, as well as help it spray a little nicer. Anything from everclear to brandy would be fine! I’ve used everclear for mental clarity (use a little bit, though) or brandy because of my associations with warmth, energy, healing, and family for me.
Some notes!
I tend to go through this rather quickly, because I use it nearly every day. I also make it in small batches, so I don’t always add the alcohol because it isn’t necessary for shelf life (since I go through it so quickly). Sometimes if I need a little kick to my shieldings, I’ll also add that alcohol in there.
You don’t have to veil to use this, but it can be used as a sort of energetic veil when spritzed in the hair. That’s how I use it when I can’t wear an actual, physical veil on certain days.
That’s all! Hope you enjoyed this page from my grimoire!

Kitchen witching 101: super simple soy sauce n tuna pasta for protection.
Tumblr media
🖤🍄🕸️🌿🪵🌙🕷️🦋🧹☕🔮
Sometimes we know hard times are ahead and that we will have to deal with challenging issues. Perhaps you are dealing with a particularly nasty client in your work next week, perhaps you rant into someone toxic yesterday, or you feel like the vibes around you have been out of whack recently. Maybe you have hit a particularly bad streak of bad luck and you are wondering if you have been cursed, if someone gave you the evil eye... In such cases the best thing you can do is cleanse, recharge and protect yourself and your energy: do not let anyone harsh your mellow ! Prevention is also important and protecting yourself and your energy before a particularly challenging event can help you avoid negative feelings.
I love this super simple, super tasty pasta for those occasions: as a spoonie witch I don’t often have the time or the will to put together complicated recipes or spells and this pasta is ready in 10 minutes tops, it is delicious and incredibly effective at keeping you protected and safe !
Ingredients: -200g pasta: Protection, wealth and prosperity, love, happiness (my own association). -Can of tuna: Luck, prosperity, abundance, fertility. -Soy sauce: protection, banishment, cursing. -Black pepper: Protection. -Frozen carrots or broccoli: Protection. (Optional, I often add some to make the dish extra healthy). Preparation: In 1 liter of water boil the pasta according to the specifications of the package and to your liking (usually I boil it 7 minutes until it is al dente). Boil the carrots or broccoli in the same pot (if using any). When the pasta is ready drain it using a colander. Open your tuna can and drain it, reserving a little of the liquid that it comes in (be it oil or water. If it is oil, reserve a little less).  In a bowl combine your pasta, your carrots or broccoli (if using), your tuna liquid, a sprinkle of black pepper and a dash of soy sauce. Stir clockwise 3 times, think or chant “this pasta shall protect me, so mote it be” and tap the bowl to seal the spell. Enjoy ! I sometimes add cheese and/or sesame seeds to this pasta for extra nutrition and tastiness. Be careful with the sodium content, however !
