okay SO
from what ive gathered (mostly from reddit and twt bc they have somewhat working search functions)- there's a group of people (mostly/entirely americans of course) who have gone to 30+ mcr shows and gotten barricade every time. which is tens of thousands dollars like they quit their jobs to follow the band around and either are insanely rich or in insane credit card debt. And some of them are going like "Well if you cant travel internationally it's your fault just save up more money" which. Girl. and they made a number system to decide who gets barricade so they get it every time and get pissed at people who won't listen to them . AND they camp out for days before shows and dont shower and wear diapers so they dont have to leave the queue apparently 👍 AND one of them said that disabled people shouldnt get barricade or something? or got mad abt people getting in line before them to get to accessible seats?? im not entirely sure what's happening there but that's what ive heard which. YIKES. and mcr havent been in australia since like. 2007? and these people- the barricade brigade as they are known- were making australians get to the back of the line so they could be at barricade DESPITE ALREADY HAVING BEEN TO DOZENS OF SHOWS. AND APPARENTLY FRANK KNOWS ABOUT THEM ANDF DOES NOT LIKE THEM LMAOO

What kind of brazillian foods/drinks the mercs would like the most
Scout:
He would love any kinds of street foods, his favorite ones would be coxinha, a fried snack stuffed with chicken; Hot dogs in the São Paulo way, they usually have mashed potatoes, corn, peas and shoestring potatoes above (with ketchup and mustard, of course) and pastel, a fried dough (the texture is similar to a puff pastry) that can have many kinds of fillings, the most usual one is mozzarella cheese. He also would love eat this while drink sugarcane juice (it's a classical combo).
Soldier:
This one is funny, bc in my head all the other mercs had to lie to him that they were getting 100% american food so he could at least try some, and he keep eating it without knowing the thruth.
His favorite ones would also be ones of the most iconical ones, by irony of the destiny, such as feijoada and pão de queijo. He would also love farofa (is made either with corn or cassava, braised with oil and can have diverses other igredients too) but since Soldier is build diferently, insted of eating it as a side dish he just cook a huge ass pan of farofa and eat all of it with a spoon.
Pyro:
He would love brigadeiro, because is sweet as him (awwn). He would love churrasco (brazilian barbecue), so much that he, engineer and sniper would be the ultimate churrasqueiros of the team (however only engineer and sniper are alowed to touch on the grill since the incident). From the many things that can be made in a churrasco, Pyro likes garlic bread the most (because it gets burned at outisde really quickly but still ok to eat). The last thing from his list would be cuscuz paulista, recipe that blend corn flour and many other igredients, and that people from other brazilian states keep saying its ugly but THATS UNTRUE YALL JUST DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE IT - me, a sad paulistana.
Engineer:
As said before, he would love churrasco, and any kind of red meat should be his favorite (picanha, striploin…). He would also like the local beer options and condensed milk pudding (pudim). No special rasion on the last one (besides giving all the mercs at least 3 itens).
Demoman:
He would LOVE drinking cachaça (alchoolic drink made with sugarcane) and caipirinha as well (drink made with cachaça, lime, sugar and ice). For eat, his favorite food should be torresmo (pork skin with fat cut into small pieces and fried until crispy), that is also a good side dish in brazilian bar's.
Heavy:
His first favorite option would be estrogonofe, wich is actually a brazilian version of a russian recipe (stroganoff), with some alterations. He would also enjoy virado à paulista (plate composed of a beans and cassava flour mix, together with pork chop, tuscan sausage, fried egg, braised cabbage and a piece of breaded banana), it's a really big meal to a really big guy. Finally, he would go for "caipiroska" for drinking, with is a caipirinha variation but with vodka in the place of cachaça (wich i didn't know existed until i started writing this kkkkkk)
Medic:
Cuca de banana (a cake with bananas and a sugar & cinnamon on top) would be one of his favorite desserts (it also has a germanic origin i also didn't knew kkkkkk). He also would like specific foods from Bahia, such as Acarajé (dumpling made from black-eyed pea dough, onion and salt, and fried in palm oil, can be stuffed with shrimp or other options of filling) and cocada (candy made with coconut), but I can't specify why yet bc it envolves a headcanon/AU i'm still making and i want it to be a silly surprise, i'll edit here once it's done.
Sniper:
The last one of the ultimate churrasqueiros, his favorite item would be chiken's hearts. Aparently pumpkings are very used in australian culinary, so i like to imagine he would also like doce de abobora (dessert made with pumpking). Finally, i guess tapioca (cassava gum, can be fried like a pancake and stuffed to taste, among other uses) just suits him idk.
Spy:
He would love Carolina (looks like a éclair, but is smaller, rounder, and filled with dulce de leche) and sonho (fried dough, usualy filled with vanilla cream and with sprinkled sugar above. The name of this recipe translate to "dream" in a literal form btw kkkkk). Ending this list, Spy would enjoy queijo com goiabada (a slice of minas cheese thogeter with a slice of guava paste).

Outragiously long and stupid rant incoming!
I like never make posts on here but I wanted to scream into the void about heartbreak high. Since s1 I've seen like really strange takes and half the time I'm like is it because people don't know how Australian school is different or is it a lack of critical thinking.
Like in s1 I only saw people either hating or loving spider and don't get me wrong either of those is valid but the way people were explaining it was strange to me.
For me I didn't like spider but not because he was some unrepeatable arsehole I actually think he was a great representation of a lot of Australian guys I knew growing up. Like he says dumb shit but then when things are serious he does the right thing like he helped malakai with the cop (then said fucking stupid things after) and he helped amerie at the festival, he wanted to help harper and let her in even though it would mean he and American would have to stop hooking up.
In comparison I swore people liking dusty who in my eyes was way worse than spider. He acted all woke like he said the right things and then did shitty things like shaming harper and deciding to frame jojo.
Like theyrr both shit but I would trust spider with my drink over but maybe not dusty.
Then ant I understand if you like ant and spider together but I think people maybe don't understand how touchy guys are with each other in Australia. Like gay straight bi whatever guy friends hang off each other and I think it's actually healthy to show that. I also saw someone complaining about spider and ant doing gay shit but only as a joke but I never saw that like I don't think any of it was a joke it just wasn't gay. Like spider calling him pet names them cuddling and stuff is just affection which is actually great especially for men who often don't know how to have affection that's not sexual.
Also can we agree that ant just doesn't care about the gender he's hooking up with like I don't think he's bi I think he's just into who he's into (is that pansexual? Sorry).
I was a bit disappointed with all the bisexual characters ending up in straight relationships but that's mostly because I really wanted an ant malakai and I liked Rowan Malaysia before it went to shit. But at the same time I dont like how people critiquing it often feels like Bi erasure. Like I'm a bi woman whos first gay relationship ended because my gf (lesbian) cheated on me with a lesbian because she constantly thought I was cheating on her with my guy friends and for a long time I just dated guys because I didnt know many bi women and lesbian girls kept being horrified that I would go near a dick (not all of them my ex was very understanding and actually encouraged me to embrace my sexualising when I was just a baby bi) but my point is I totally understand how having a straight relationship when bi can actually be more understanding (at least in mine and my friends experiences) and it's totally valid even though the relationship is straight.
Also people angry about not as much quinni (I agree more quinni she and cash are my loves) I'm actually happy they took a back-seat with her on the relationship front like her and Sasha were a big deal/quinnis first relationship and I think it wouldve really messed quinni up with how it ended. I also love that they're not just centring her storyline around being the gay girl you know like she I a multifaceted queen.
Also for the Sasha redemption, I get why people are calling for it but unlike spider and dusty like Sasha didn't really do anything wrong (except for how she treated quinni but they talked at the end of s1 and seem to be moving to a place of good friendahip) shes mostly just annoying and pretentious like the other idiots actually fuvked up. I don't really want a Sasha redemption I just want to see more of her character make her a bit less of a two dimensional hipster, which I honestly think they only didn't fo because they had a lot of characters to juggled Sasha had to take a back-seat so Missy could shine (and I love Missy so I'll allow it also her and malakais friendship means everything to me the indigenous representation that shows not just the aspects of country and family but also shows them as fully formed characters I LOVE)
Sorry for the obscenely long rant this is just all my thoughts from s1 and s2 so ignore it by all means and also if you disagree that's fine and you are probably right lol.

And from Pahkitew it has to be either Jasmine, Shawn, Topher or Dave. Theyre all matched cuz they all have their own charm to them. Jasmine is there because Im australian and she looks so much like my friend its uncanny. Topher and Dave are super fun on screen but Shawn is 100% who I was rooting for the whole way through
im only in season 1 but Reboot Wayne and Raj. No competition. Although Ripper was actually way funnier than I thought he’d be. MK and Julia were fun too!

okay, *technically* I'm not using the term right. It's an old phrase from before we called it Shitposting- we blamed all the weird stuff on sleep deprivation and Australians lmao
But it's night, and I'm blogging, so here we are.
so if you've read my other long posts, you'll know I'm in multiple open polyamorous relationships... and that I'm having what one might call "a hoe phase" and an accompanying crisis about if I still have worth if I'm a slut.
Well now im having a whole different (but still slut-adjacent) crisis. Do I even know what romance is????
This didnt come out of nowhere. My girlfriend mentioned that I was dating around as though I was single several months ago. And today she- wisely- brought up that i am at risk of girl bossing too close to the sun. and I had already been thinking about how my sibling had said that our parents didnt really model romance for us, and that we were told that romantic love is just kissing your best friend. And to be clear: I TOTALLY am. I'm not lonely or touch starved or sad or maidenless (or lad-less) in any sense of the imagination.
So... why am I still pursuing people??
The tree i can understand. He's a fun fuck, and he travels the renfaire circuit so I wont see him all the time. No chance of a solid relationship, just a fun easy breezy fling.
The lookout? Similar thing. Super fun to make out with and fine as HELL, but he lives like three hours away and doesnt seem interested in going steady. I can work with that
Max is PolySaturared and we just make out when I'm over for house parties, which isnt as often as I'd like but I'm desperately trying not to have too much of a crush on him (or his wife... or his girlfriend... or his other partner) so it's fine (jesus, maybe I'm not Ace, maybe I am just autistic)
Theres my good ex and my middle school bestie, but they're hella busy and our schedules havent really lined up. Disappointing, but acceptable.
The thing these people have in common is that they are almost entirely unavailable for me to date!! Until literally a month ago I was under the impression that I was just chasing the dopamine of New relationship Energy with ethically renewable sources and I could get my cozy domestic stability from my lovely girlfriends and partner...
And then trumpet guy and I made out at one of Max's house parties.... and Then I went on two dates with The Goblin King after making out with him and the Tree at the same time on NYE. And like??? It's so weird to say that I dont think either of them are stupid hot???? (But only one of the three people I'm dating is Stupid Hot, so there is precedent but?) It feels kinda weird and disingenuous to want to spend more time with these people who I'm not crushing on
And yet im Quickly falling head over clown shoes for trumpet guy. He's cute and fun and he asked me out on a date to dress way fancy and get sushi and go see a musical and???? I had just been telling a classmate that I didnt feel like I had been properly romanced since high school and?????? While I'm an impatient slut, it feels nice to be pursued.
The goblin king is really fucking sweet, and he's got really nice hair, but I'll wait to try talking myself out of liking him until after our next date... (too late, cant unthink that. I'll bring it up in person. He's really cool and I do want to still be his friend, but we both live with parents who would NOT get it so that kinda makes it hard to have solo couple time... or any couple time. It's not like I have to make a choice anytime soon but the dude deserves to know that I'm not sure if there's anything for us beyond friendship and the occasional kiss. Heck, we've only made out the one time and not even just us.)

Why r people mad about labradoodles?
Hrrrmmm ok so. Bear with me 🐻
I would categorize this as very niche drama. Withen the world of Dog People, doodles are a bit of a hot button topic. Many poodle breeders and fanciers are very Anti-doodle because often doodles are coming from breeding programs that are not up to the same "ethical" (for lack of a better term) standards that many reputable breed clubs hold. This can be anything from lack of health testing parent dogs, not breeding to a physical standard or for physical/tempramental balance (classic back yard breeder stuffs). On top of that, the doodle fad has created many offshoots of the original lab/poodle combo, including but not limited to goldendoodles (golden retriever x poodle), aussiedoodle (australian shepherd x poodle), and bernadoodles (bernese mountain dog x poodle).
Honestly though, i see far more doodle breeders these days who do genuinely love what the "breed" has become and are bringing the higher standard of care that should be expected in the dog breeding world.
In theory, doodles could be produced responsibly, but i dont know that any respectable poodle breeder would volunteer their dogs for such projects, mostly due to the stigma surrounding doodles. I expect that it will be pretty difficult to find more responsible poodle and lab breeders to jump back on board the doodle train, but i dont think its impossible either. I dont see anything wrong with people being enthusiastic and wanting to do better by their dogs.
All that being said, dog people r fucking nuts which is why ppl r frothing at the mouth but honestly. Honestly. At the end of the day.

As another Aussie, it's so true that Pearls aussie-ness gets ignored unless she's "acting unhinged". Pearl is very aussie with her slang and how she talks but the amount of times she written as a brit or yank is frustrating. It's super obvious in fics where they give, for example, Stress an accent but Pearl has none to be seen. Like britpicking is a thing, why can't people just google some australian things?
I suppose at the end of the day it's not super important but idk it would be nice some fans thought "oh hey I wonder whats an australian equivalent of this animal?"

It's a very common stereotype that us aussies are rough as guts, fighting constantly and absolutely insane. Either that or we're backstabbing villains. Doesn't help that the most research anyone bothers to do is either into convicts or dangerous wildlife.
I think its because most of the fandom doesn't want to have to acknowledge that they don't know shit about us, and thats why she's changed into a brit or a yank. Its for their comfort, because falling back onto stereotypes is easy when they can hide behind "its not racist, Pearl is white! we can make her hit the aussie villain trope", though i dont know how many of them are ready to hear that the "Aussie villain" tope is xenophobic, especially when thats the only time shes ever australian.

i should have said it earlier instead of just sending with no explanation sorry. what prompted it was because i hate that book and wanted to know if you did too lmao i never read it tho but i dont like self help books too, I only know the existence of it because of a friend. She said it was just about the ego. and then she told me this example the author exposed explained with my friends words. The example was how an old lady who was in her deathbed was aggrieved because someone lost a very important ring to her and was mad at said person. The author used this moment to explain us the readers how the ego was blinding the old women. She was angry and emotional because of a ring that, by the moment she dies, will have no meaning whatsoever, it will be just a mere ring, a material possession and she shouldn't let that make her act that way. I think "the moral of this story" is something something ego something. When she told me this she was like woooow interesting and I was like that was the silliest thing I ever heard!!!! wtfff?!?!?! NONSENSE!!!
OMGGGGGG ok im so sorry i was like what the hell 😭 im just sensitive bc one time i said i loved minimalist poetry and gave dan pagis as an example and got this anon recommending me this weird australian instagram travel guru kinda guy whose poems were like the white male answer to rupi kaur 😣 but literally i havent read it either but i think ive seen some of his ted talks and im def familiar with his vague vibe and its very that..literally presented as something sooo spiritual but its just like look this woman was mad about an item that sucks. like..ookayy...? literally the conference of the birds did this better a whole thousand years ago and i find it insulting how these guys come along and take any depth from it to 'distill' the 'truth' (seems to always be on a very culturally christian axis too but anywayy) like why did everyone copy down a huge poem over and over for 1000 years at great expense if they couldve just written 'everything is one and the self is an illusion peace and love and ego death' like that is so not the point!! if they were just boring books with generic obvious life advice they would STILL annoy me but the faux claim to mysticism......................

american person who watched a bunch of canadian tv shows growing up back here again--- yes i definitely did notice the like, way you raised your voice up sometimes without intentionally doing so, noting that was canadian and i actually think you do the O thing as well, maybe without realizing lol. i genuinely have lived on the east coast my entire life so i genuinely don't think i have an accent at all? but also, i probably wouldn't be able to tell either. also i should note your voice was so nice...
so the shows i watched were degrassi, backstage but this was way later on and i probably had no business watching it but it was good so sue me, my babysitter's a vampire, and in that show everyone was way over-pronouncing their o's which is probably where i got it from. because like i said. im not from where you are and i do it and i think its due to that show. like, when im talking fast and say 'out' for example, its 'oout' ? i dont know how to describe it besides the canadian way to pronounce o's. it's why my australian accent is uncanny when i do it because i also watched h2o just add water!
oh you watched the good shows... and i agree, the o-pronunciation in my babysitter's a vampire is crazy (even for canada lmao)
