Moreover, Caesar was not satisfied to be overlooked at first by Sulla, who was busy with a multitude of proscriptions, but he came before the people as candidate for the priesthood, although he was not yet much more than a stripling. To this candidacy Sulla secretly opposed himself, and took measures to make Caesar fail in it, and when he was deliberating about putting him to death and some said there was no reason for killing a mere boy like him
Plutarch, Caesar
sulla's fight with caesar is extremely funny, but also very Something considering how much of sulla you see reflected in caesar's later actions. breaking news: grown man picks fight with teenager, more at 11.

obsessed with prime’s synopsis of nbc hannibal sounding relatively normal like any thriller show but then one of the previews is the FBI’s profiler Will Graham— who you are not familiar with if it’s your first encounter with the show– trespassing and scaling a fence in Lithuanian when supposedly the show takes place in the U.S.

The comics always have Tim comment on how normal his childhood was, and I just don’t believe them.
Like, the name “Drake” was set up in comics for years beforehand. Tim Drake is a rich kid. His parents did own an entire industry and Tim’s introductory comic tells us flat out that he spends most of the time his parents aren’t home at boarding and private schools. His parents were gone a lot!
Tim Drake is stated to be so normal. This kid can still clearly remember watching Dick’s parents die, he was traumatized and had nightmares about the scene. Especially if you believe Tim’s never taken a picture of Batman before the events of his introduction, Tim is extra strange because why was his first instinct to take pictures of Batman getting beaten up?! Is that normal child behaviour?? Am I the weird one for not knowing where Dick Grayson’s girlfriend lived when I was thirteen?? How on earth is Tim Drake the normal one?
He’s a stilted talker, absolutely terrible at speaking about important things. He is the Robin who called the most alike to Batman more than once, Ra’s al Ghul calls him a detective on Batman’s level, are you REALLY normal if you’re similar to Batman??
Like yeah, sure. Tim didn’t grow up in a circus. Tim didn’t grow up raised on the streets. Tim wasn’t trained from birth to be an assassin.
I would argue that this makes him MORE abnormal! He doesn’t have Dick’s background or flexibility! He doesn’t have either of Jason’s backgrounds nor his grudge. He doesn’t have Batman to live up to for a father. And yet, he still decides to put his life on the line to fight crime! His parents weren’t even dead!! He just decided that “If Batman and Nightwing aren’t going to take care of themselves, I have no choice but to do it for them.” Sure, he tries to get Dick to help Bruce, but he realizes pretty quickly that that isn’t going to work out.
Tim Drake tried to fight Superboy. You know, Superman’s clone? Invulnerable? Boy of steel? Literally only had one weakness that Tim didn’t have on him at the time??
Tim Drake is absolutely not the normal Robin. The comics really, really want me to believe that the kid who grew up in boarding school while his parents were off on business, the kid who took to being a Robin akin to Batman (ie. invisible, unnoticeable, unknown, a myth), the kid who got beat up by Jason Todd and then went “whoa, Jason Todd is back :),” the kid who Ra’s al Ghul is obsessed with, the kid who built his own vehicle; this kid is normal.
Yeah, okay. He’s perfectly normal. His dad being hinted at as being neglectful and literally abusive with how he breaks his kid’s things? Normal. Tim Drake knowing how to photograph the most paranoid man this side of the Rockies? Normal. Tim Drake deciding that it would actually be neat-o to don a suit that another kid died in to fight against people and beings that could and would absolutely kill him in a heartbeat? Completely. Normal.
Okay, DC. Whatever you say…

A copy of Napoleon’s Notes on English History, edited by Henry Foljmabe Hall came in the mail for me and it already looks so wild
Just skimming and for the highlights of English history I tend to be interested in, so far we have Napoleon just losing track of all the genealogies in the War of the Roses. Relatable.
Richard III? Definitely had the princess smothered, move over Philippe Langley, Napoleon has already made his ruling in like 1788.
Later, he straight up makes up where Henry VII gets his “claim” to the throne from. Not on purpose but it’s clear he has no idea. Probably from his mom? Who was descended from…a…daughter? Of Edward iii? Right? Sure, says Napoleon, let’s go with that
He does note some “niche” history like how Anne Boleyn was accused of incest by Lady Rochford. He doesn’t note who she’s accused of committing it with. He also later and erroneously notes that Katherine Howard was accused of incest.
Mary Queen of Scots was beheaded primarily, he says, because she was Christian.
And those are my highlights baby

Natsume Yuujinchou (episode 6)
Honestly, the ending of the episode was super touching! I was kinda wondering how it would go and it was very pleasant - which is a relief based on how everyone who mentions it says it's a heart warming show. Thank you for the recommendation of the episode!!

I have to admit, I really like your version of Sayaka (schizoid Sayaka…YES) she’s so cool! Also how turbulent and wild her personality is, it’s definitely a main character trait of hers! I just really love how you do her personality…
(Not sure if I phrased this well, sorry! I’m kiinda awkward when it comes to conversing)
I’m glad you like my portrayal of Sayaka ^_^ and no worries about sounding awkward. You’re fine.
Most of my Sayaka stuff are based on my personal experiences and thoughts. I just really want to capture the essence of how the lights are on, but no one is home. I actually hate writing dialogue for Sayaka, so every time she speaks in comics or anything it always sounds awkward and rigidly out of place. Like she’s answering a question based on her own satisfaction and willingness instead of actually answering the essence of the question itself. I don’t know. At some point you’re no longer looking at a work about Sayaka, but a puppet being moved around by the cringe loser puppet master of an author who relays his discontent with life through a funny anime girl. If someone were to watch Madoka Magica for Sayaka after looking at my stuff, they would scratch their heads because Is Sayaka Really Like That In The Show.
But I’m happy you think she’s cool. Even though she doesn’t even do anything cool like a double flip. She just stares at the screen a lot and occasionally smiles at herself for no conceivable reason. (`_´)ゞ

In todays edition of “I girl bossed too hard,” I’ve got a full daily schedule 9-5, and this week I’ve been building a custom demo after standard hours for a presentation next week, and starting today I’m now also running a POC with a customer in India with working sessions nightly from 8-10pm for the next 2 weeks.
The week after that is our wedding reception. The one I’m entirely DIYing.
So I won’t be around much for the next 3 weeks and I’ll be even more shit at answering messages than usual.
Steddie fic will update tomorrow and then will go on hiatus for two weeks. FFF will update next week and then will go on hiatus for two weeks. I might still squeeze some writing time in but I don’t want to have update commitments as added stress since writing is supposed to be my stress relief.
Anyhow, if you follow me for writing reasons, thanks for your patience!

i know everyone and their grandmother has said "he's such an asshole!! (affectionate!!)" and while that's obviously fully true.. it seems to overshadow one of the most seemingly counterintuitive things about Neil which is that he naturally can be very polite. obviously they're not mutually exclusive qualities but i feel like it's hardly ever talked about. like from the beginning he apologizes a lot and occasionally has manners and shit, and especially once he gets close to the foxes he genuinely feels bad and guilty about lying to them and hurting them. I feel like people try so hard to make sure he's not seen as soft that the general idea has become that he's this verbally aggressive jackass who's only ever nice to like. andrew. but I don't think he is

if i think about vitalazam too long i feel lightheaded but here's my thing. "I LOVE SUBZ SO I HAVE TO LOVE VITALASY TOO" is a funny problem to have in and of itself but if vitalasy met this with an equal "Well i guess i need to figure out how to get along with this guy..." response it would be nothing. vitalasy does not do that though vitalasy wants him so bad it's going to kill him and then does crazy enough shit motivated by this that even if it does not necessarily make zam like him it DOES make zam Care. vitalasy likes him soooooooooooooooooooo much but does not KNOW him hardly at all (because even if they spent more time together zam is not letting either of them know him on purpose because his relationship with them is the only thing giving him safety/security in his life & he's convinced he could do something to turn them against him at any moment because his mind is a horrible place & moreover this HAS to be love because he owes it to both of them for keeping him safe) so anything and everything he tries to do for zam backfires horribly in extremely predictable ways if you know anything about princezam which vitalasy acts like he does not. but he's also like hitting bullseyes blindfolded with how well he's finding zam's deepest issues and then putting him in situations to force him to confront them. which is a very strange combination. so it's really no wonder that zam's immediate reaction is "This guy is some kind of master manipulator freak and i need to RUN AWAY." how are you supposed to actually confront the behavior patterns that are ruining your life if the guy trying to get you to do that has spent all of his free time for the past 3 months hiding his scheme to usurp god in your guys' basement. it's like a beautiful rube goldberg machine of problems on top of problems
