Weapon Luffy

You were one of the few masters aboard the Straw Pirates. You haven't found your right weapon yet. You really knew it would take some time.

For now, you fought with a makeshift battle staff. The weapon you had tattooed on your arm. The mark of a weapon that is meant for its master. You knew nothing more about your weapon, about your soul mate.

You didn't mind that though. You didn't need your weapon when you could rely on your friends. But that's just what you thought. Of course, you wanted a weapon, someone who was only for you. Who wouldn't want this?

Surely you knew that Zoro and even Sanji were not your weapons. These two were completely different weapons than what you had on your wrist. You had a hunch that it might be Luffy, but he mostly fought for himself. You never had the opportunity to check this domain.

After a while, you stopped trying and decided to let things go. Maybe you'll come across your weapon somewhere along the way…

You were on a new island, which consisted mostly of mountains with deep ravines and which was inhabited by rather unhinged people.

You originally went exploring in a much larger group, but very soon you and Luffy got separated from the others. Because Luffy smelled the meat and before you could stop him, he was running towards your nose. You had no choice but to follow him.

His nose led you to a small settlement of bridge dwellers. Unfortunately, you didn't stop him and he threw himself into their feast. This pissed them off and before you knew it Luffy was handcuffed with a sea prism stone.

But he could still change into a weapon. However, it was such a shock to his body that he couldn't fight at all. Unluckily for you, they also tied you up. Even with an ordinary rope, you still couldn't fight properly.

You were surrounded and trapped. They pointed their spears at you and kept you at distance. This is how they led you to the edge of a deep ravine. You looked down and your head would spin from that height.

This was supposed to be the end of you. You noticed that the ravine was not very wide. You were already making a plan in your head to save yourself.

The two of you stood on the edge of the abyss before they kicked you into it. As you fell, you tried to grab the rock, but to no avail. Luffy soon caught on to your plan and tried to save you too.

Luffy stretched under your arms as you hugged him and turned into a battle staff. You grabbed him and directed him so that he got stuck between the rocks.

You were afraid you wouldn't make it in time. Either the rock was breaking or Luffy simply slipped off. You really grabbed Luffy like a staff and stabbed him into a rock.

This finally worked and you stopped falling. Luffy seemed to have a firm hold there, so you could breathe a sigh of relief for a moment.

"Are you OK?" you asked him. A hand emerged from the staff at the wrist, pointing a thumb up. You were glad he was okay. You knew he had a hard root, but you were still worried.

After this, you somehow managed to get down and back to the ship. There you got Luffy out of his handcuffs and Chopper took care of your injuries.

Ever since you got on the ship though, Luffy has been stumped the entire time. As if his thoughts were somewhere else completely the whole time. And that almost never happened. Especially for a time like this.

“Hey Luffy, are you okay? ” you asked him worriedly.

“Y/N, what's the tattoo on your arms?” he asked you seriously. Besides, this was the first time he asked you about your sign.

“A battle staff,” you replied, showing him the tattoo on your arm. However, things have completely changed since you last saw him.

The last time you looked at him was before your tattoo. It was an ordinary seated battle staff. Now? Now it was something else entirely. Although it's true that when you clung to Luffy like a staff, you had this strange, uplifting feeling, as if you were complete with him.

You still had a battle staff on your wrist now, but it was wrapped around a whip. However, the most distinctive feature of it was the straw that was hung from one side. Luffy looked at your tattoo thoughtfully before a smile appeared on his face.

"That's my straw hat!" he rejoiced. Others who were nearby were also in shock. After all, you've been sailing with them for a while now and only now have you found out that the captain has been your weapon all along.

"That's not possible," Nami wondered, while Robin just chuckled knowingly, as if she'd suspected it all along.

“Shishishi,” Luffy laughed. The future king of all fights has found a master. Something like this had to be properly celebrated.

i'm getting towards the end of the skypeia arc, & i'd like to say just how much i adore the way the female strawhats have been treated.

just... every aspect of how the way their characters have been previously contextualized influences the story-line is treated with a masterful amount of consideration. we're given so many layers to both of them that enrich not only their characters specifically, but the arc, and the one piece world as a whole. without nami & robin having their specific skills, and their specific values, without those being built upon, the story would have come to a halt.

you could not have skypeia without nami & robin being who they are as individuals. not just because they never would've gotten there without nami, but also because the way these women think is itself foundational to the machinations of the arc as a whole.

to be totally upfront, if you think any other strawhats were more central to the skypeia arc than nami & robin were you are full-on fucking lying to yourself.

#obligatory disclaimer that i’m aware luffy is the protagonist & a lot of interesting stuff is explored w him. this isn’t abt him though.#part of me wonders if this is an aspect of why people will write off this arc sometimes tbh... like that & the political themes.#but yeah anyway i get why people say that for all there are 100% misogynistic tendencies in oda's writing & character design #it is very very hard to say that he as an individual is an ideological misogynist. like the level of care he puts into his female cast mem #-ers generally speaking & how he approaches what existing as a multi-dimensional individual would look like in their specific contexts is #like... in a lot of ways still something that is unprecedented across all forms of media.#but also not the point but anyone who says nami in particular doesnt get real fights/is unskilled um... no you're wrong read her fight in #alabasta & then all of skypeia.#like in alabasta she takes on arguably a stronger opponent than sanji when considering the structuring of BW. not only that but she does s #with a weapon she has never used before while actively reading the instruction manual. and she WINS. she wins based on sheer intellect &#the ability to utilize skills the audience already knows she has. the pre-existing basic fighting skills she's introduced with are elabora #-ed upon by incorporating her skill w navigation. same with the way her cunning is used in skypeia to cover her lack of sheer brute. &#the best part about it is she's fucking tough in a way that makes sense! she isn't strong/weak just for the sake of positioning her as such #it is thoughtful & it strengthens her as a character rather than just like giving the power-scaler types smth to mindlessly chew on.#like do i wish nami got to fight more & take a more active role in that regard even if i don't think she needs to be a fighter in the same #sense as the monster trio? yes absolutely. i'm guessing this is going to be smth that bothers me potentially even more with robin.#but that does not mean her fights are not masterfully written when she gets them or that she isn't tough as a bag of nails.#respect my darling woman or die.#skypeia #nico robin #nami #grey's one piece tag

Y’know how Kaido was all about how fruits don’t matter and Haki is the real power? I want somebody — some high-tech Vega punk-esque weapon-smith guy — to have the same opinion, only it’s “both fruits and haki can be defeated by a well-crafted weapon; you’ll never win if you face me unarmed.”

So are we not going to talk about how Pluton was Nefertari D. Lili's ship?

Nefertari D. Lili went missing at sea without a trace, meaning her ship disappeared as well, right? Now go back to the Alabasta arc and the poneglyph that we saw there. Alabastian royalty had been protecting the Pluton poneglyph for generations as the country's most valuable secret.

When we reach Water 7 that is when we learn that the Pluton was a ship, which is why the blueprints were so sought after. With Pluton being lost to the sea, it makes sense why such blueprints were hidden rather than used. The blueprints were destroyed by Franky, leaving Pluton as the only ship of its caliber.

We don't know when Pluton was built other than that it was a long time ago, and we don't know where Lili went.

Nefertari D. Lili went missing around 800 years ago, which is the same age as the poneglyphs. That would mean Lili participated in the creation of the poneglyphs, more importantly, the one that would say where she would leave her ship. How else would there be a poneglyph in Alabasta marking the location of a ship in Wano?

Let's talk about bloodlines.

Luffy, Vivi, and Blackbeard are all members of the D clan, and Shirohoshi is an ancient weapon via familial inheritance. These are known facts.

Imu has photos of these four people, meaning Vivi is on the same level of threat as Luffy, reincarnation of Joy Boy, Blackbeard, weilder of multiple devil fruits, and Shirohoshi, living ancient weapon. The only reason why this would be so is if Vivi was not just a protector of Pluton but connected to it. The fact that Vivi is a member of the D clan comes second to this information. After all, there are plenty of members of the D clan who Imu doesn't have a personal picture of.

To sum it up, my theory is that Pluton was Nefertari D. Lili's ship, and will only awaken for the Nefertari bloodline. Vivi, being the last of the Nefertari bloodline, will be the one to awaken Pluton.

It would also be funny if Vivi was the key to an ancient weapon because that would mean Crocodile had the key to what he wanted but didn't know.
