rich people make me laugh
it's so funny how the wealthiest people you know of are always like "I make enough money to be comfortable."
oh really mr moneybags?
you need two boats, nine exotic cars, a mansion on a hundred acres, and a private jet to be ""COMFORTABLE""
maybe you're just a Marie Antoinette reincarnated or something

Thoughts on society's fucked up understanding of violence
Content warning: general references to ableist punishments of autistic kids and classist punishments of poor people
Been thinking about how society vilifies certain people for doing undesirable things when they have no real alternative, while normalising systems which are violent to their core and cause immeasurable harm.
Like when an autistic kid lashes out because they don’t know any other way to cope in a stressful environment — or a poor person steals food because it’s the only way for them to survive — they are seen as miscreants and punished accordingly.
But when globalised capitalism kills millions of people every year by malnourishment, disease and war, all so a select few can keep hoarding obscene amounts of wealth — that’s perfectly normal. Totally fine. Nothing to see here.

I really feel like we're in an economic depression. I know very few people who are making enough to live comfortably. And it's mostly because of wealth hoarding and exploitation of the working class. No one is having a good time right now except for the 1%, who are just rolling in dough while they call the working class "lazy" to try to make us do more for less. They say no one wants to work, but I haven't heard back from hardly any of the places I've applied to. This shit isn't right. I'm getting really fucking pissed off, and I think you should be too. Something needs to change and soon.

The unrestricted competition so commonly advocated does not leave us the survival of the fittest. The unscrupulous succeed best in accumulating wealth.

Absolutely bonkers to me that Kim kardashian is one of the wealthiest people in the world and her house is the most depressing boring space I have ever seen in my life. If I had Kardashians money my house would be like every door portal to another dimension like monsters inc, bathroom. Baroque period, kitchen, Martha Stewart ass cottage core looking ass, bedrooms would be like one of the 1960s honey moon hotels with different wacky themes, champagne glass bathtub ass heart shaped swivelling bed mother Fucker. What’s the point in hoarding so much wealth of your gonna be SO BORING??????????????????

All hail the landlord king
“Upon taking the throne, Charles became the largest individual landowner in Britain, presiding over around 700,000 acres of various types of land together worth an estimated £5bn. The king’s property empire doesn’t just include palaces like Buckingham (£3.9bn), Hampton Court (£960m) Kensington (£500m) and Balmoral (£95m); it extends all the way to business parks and even small rented cottages. Of the top ten most valuable residential homes, the monarch owns six.
“Residential homes are not the only valuable buildings in his portfolio. He also owns the Tower of London (visited by 2m tourists last year), which is worth around £880m; in addition, the monarch earns £28m per year from estates overseen by the Duchy of Lancaster. Overall, Charles’ array of homes, historic landmarks and tourist attractions are collectively worth £20bn ...
“The king owns 17m sq feet of retail and office space, including 10m sq feet in London alone. This includes seventeen retail parks, all of Regent’s Street and multiple shopping centres. The businesses that rent property from the Crown include 7 McDonald’s franchises, 13 Next stores, 10 Marks & Spencer supermarkets and 6 Primarks. Within Greater London, the monarchy owns more commercial real estate than almost anybody else – only the Canary Wharf Group owns more.
“Notably, the monarchy’s control of Regent’s Street in London is more than simply passive renting; the Crown Estate actively dictates which shops are allowed to operate there. Charity shops, travel agencies and cafes are among the businesses effectively banned from renting on Regent’s Street.”

I like Beyonce just as much as the next person but I cannot sit here black person to black person and say that she is relatable bc she is one of the prime examples of black capitalism and how wealth will make anyone including people of color out of touch in multiple facets

have to ask, for all ThunderStrike fans out there. does he end up becoming the all-king after defeating Cuinn???
Yes he sure does!! And he's pretty good at it
I didn't go into too much depth but essentially the flock as a whole represents a massive cultural group (not just comprised of eagle harpies but representing members of the same size class) which stretches along the entire plain to the coast in the north. Each settlement is an eyrie, and each eyrie has space for one or two kings depending on population size. The all-king takes on more of an ambassadorial role than the others, he meets up with representatives from other flocks, and also is responsible for deciding which humans get eggs or youngsters to raise when they come begging (the humans must bring gifts and proof of wealth and power)
In the future, when Cuinn is king of the Kosa eyrie (and manages to raise their reputation enough that harpies in other eyries start to actually respect them), Thunder Strike would be the guy he has to go crawling back to if he wants his eyrie to be included in the wider flock, which carries a lot of prestige and benefits. I haven't decided how that would go but I doubt it would be an easy relationship for either of them.
