MY NEW LIFE SERVER WITH MY SIBLINGS ALL DEATHS AND NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES SO FAR
100Cat (my older sister) and I exploring the catacombs. I (a bee) get cornered by a skeleton with a sword and have to hold up my shield at half a heart waiting for my sister to save me. She comes and kills the skeleton and I’m safe! I say “wow that was a close one I’m glad I didn’t die” as I eat food, zombie comes completely out of nowhere we have one second to react before it kills me. Laughter ensues.
Shortly after previous death, with 100Cat (phoenix) alone in the catacombs, suddenly a BUNCH of zombies show up as well and she dies as I am now a Guardian (fish) so I cannot go back in there to help her.
We are now a Guardian and a Crab but we haven’t died again yet so that’s good. I’ve had many near death experiences as a Guardian tho. Here they are.
Tried to kill the cows in the cow pen with a knife. It did no damage, I fall in the pen and continue trying to stab the cow, no damage dealt. (After further testing, I realize this is because the weakness on land makes me do -4 damage and the knife I was using did less than that). Start suffocating from lack of water. Try to leave pen. Cows are in the way. Finally leave pen and jump into water at half a heart. Does not talk about it.
My sister made a bikini and crocs which if you wear them boost your swim speed. My swim speed was already naturally faster since I am a guardian, so she tells me to put them on and see how fast I go. The answer? Really really fast. It’s not even the full set. I decide to leave the beach and explore the jungle a bit. Find a big hole. Need to breathe, so I try to place water next to me, but the leaves are waterlogged. Panic and try to find a place without leaves to put water, fall out of tree closer to the hole. Place some water against the wall, but my swim speed is so fast due to the bathing suit that I slip out and fall straight into the hole. Zombies and skeletons chase me. I try to shield but I am already suffocating and the fall damage plus skeleton arrows is making me at like one heart. I manage to run to the wall of the cave and place water (I forgot to mention at some point I also managed to switch my armor back on) before I die (it was REALLY close I remember saying I was gonna die so confidently but like that doesn’t mean you stop trying and it paid off). Shield and thankfully water pushes zombies away (I think I killed the skeleton in the panic) so I manage to recover and kill the zombies. Go back to the beach and give my sister the bikini and crocs back.
There’s honestly many more times I’ve almost died (that’s just life as a Merling type origin trying to be on land without respiration enchants or water breathing potions) but they aren’t as interesting. For now OUR OTHER, YOUNGER SISTER (Sky) JOINED THE SERVER! We couldn’t all play at once (only 2 computers) and Cat and I were away from home on an adventure so she had to follow my waypoints to find our base all on her own.
Sky dies many times on her way to our base. Mostly because when she joined the server it was night time and a thunderstorm (minecraft servers when new players join them fr). She ends up with 2 lives left on Sugar Crazed origin (one I made! She really liked it and wanted to stay as it which made me happy)
On her second to last life (we’re gonna give her lives back it’s no fun keeping all those unfortunate deaths when we’re trying to have fun) she makes it to our base. She decides to go exploring. She finds a village. It’s getting late irl so I decide to go to bed. I consider telling her “don’t die” but I figure she’ll stay safe, I mean she’s just in a village and will probably log off soon. I go to the bathroom before going to bed. While I’m in the bathroom I hear Sky enter the bedroom and say “I died 😢”. Apparently she tried to jump off a cliff and land in water and failed. BRUH. We stop playing for the night.

masterlist
The sound of the phone hitting the floor echoed in the empty hallway. You backed away, slowly while never taking your eyes off of it; as if it had a camera inside and whoever texted was watching with a grin on their face.
It started ringing, vibrating violently on the floor. You ran up and picked it up, only because you were afraid they were still in the building and could hear it. But when looking down at the screen, you breathed out in relief. It was the number that Soobin had texted with.
‘’ Hello? ‘’
You waited in silence, not wanting to risk revealing anything in case that number wasn’t him either.
‘’ Y/n? ‘’
It was his voice, thankfully.
‘’ Soobin! I think they have my number. I got a text from someone else and I thought it was you. ‘’ you said in a hushed voice, starting to walk towards the entrance while hunched over.
‘’ What? Did you say anything? ‘’
‘’ Not anything that would make them think I was talking to you. But who do I say I thought it was? They will probably ask tomorrow. ‘’
Soobin quietened for a moment.
‘’ Maybe it’s best you don’t come to the academy tomorrow. ‘’
‘’ No, that’s a terrible idea! It will make me look really suspicious. ‘’
‘’ Will you really be able to lie to their faces if you see them though? ‘’
‘’ I have to try at least. But if I don’t succeed, a backup plan? ‘’
You heard him hum on the other side of the line.
‘’ We can use Yeonjun then. ‘’
Your face scrunched up, doubt written all over your face. You were pretty sure he’d reject it, rather rudely, based on him telling you to stay away from his brother the last time the two of you talked.
‘’ Or…Yena. ‘’ you suggested.
‘’ Yena? Who is that? ‘’
‘’ Jungwon’s sister. I’ve met her and she gave the impression of almost hating him. It’s a long shot bu- ‘’
Soobin sassily agreed, ‘’ It definitely is. ‘’
‘’ Backup plans don’t have to be super solid. I’m just gonna bet everything on plan A working out. ‘’
You didn’t have many choices after all. Yena was risky and uncertain, Yeonjun was almost certainly a no and you weren’t sure about Sunoo yet. With no other friends that could be undercover right under the noses of your bullies, all that was left to do was to believe in yourself and be confident; which was definitely a first.
‘’ What do I do if they text again? ‘’
‘’ Pretend like you knew it was them from the beginning. If they question it, say you were…drunk? ‘’
Your loud laugh echoed. ‘’ Soobin, your suggestions suck. ‘’
‘’ Sorry…’’ he mumbled back.
‘’ I might have to resort to that though, if it all goes to shit. ‘’
‘’ I still don't think you should go. ‘’
‘’ My parents want me to get good grades. I can’t lose my scholarship at this prestigious school. ‘’
‘’ But you already went today. Just use an excuse so you don’t have to see them. We can hang out instead, if you want? ‘’
Your phone vibrated again in your hand.
‘’ Hold on, I’m getting another call. I’ll let you know though. ‘’
‘’ Okay, bye! ‘’
You pressed answer on the incoming call after having hung up on Soobin. It was an unknown number again, so mentally you prepared yourself before putting the phone to your ear.
‘’ Hello? ‘’
‘’ Did you guess right? ‘’
The voice sounded familiar, but admittedly it was one of the last people you expected.
‘’ Sunghoon? ‘’
‘’ Well done! ‘’
‘’ How do you have my number? ‘’
‘’ Took your phone while Ni-ki was busy with you in the gym. ‘’
Ah, of course. It would’ve been almost impossible to divide your attention between all seven of them to catch them in the act if they went through your stuff. You were thankful for having changed your settings so you actually had a password now, making sure they couldn’t go through your phone and see Soobin there.
‘’ Do the others have it too? ‘’
‘’ Not yet. ‘’
You weren’t sure what to say next, letting the silence settle. You felt like there was something else, but he was taking his time saying it.
‘’ Oh, right! I forgot about that. ‘’ he shouted out abruptly as if talking to himself.
‘’ Forgot about what? ‘’
‘’ You texted me back, almost like you were waiting for someone to text you. ‘’
You panicked and was forced to come up with a lie on the spot in just a few seconds. Luckily, since he couldn’t see you, it was much easier to lie. Your face didn’t heat up and you didn’t have to maintain eye-contact with basically one of the living lie detectors out of the group.
You were incredibly lucky today. If you were face to face, he’d be able to figure out you were lying very fast.
‘’ Yeah…my cousin just got a phone and said she’d text me today. ‘’
He went quiet for a moment, scaring you. Was he trying to assess your voice because he wasn’t sure if he believed you?
‘’ Are you lying to me, sweetheart? ‘’
You froze but managed to press out an answer through clenched teeth, ‘’ No. ‘’
‘’ Are you sure? I can easily check up on your family, you know that. ‘’
But you had already made up your mind, it would be cruel and very stupid to throw Soobin under the bus now. The only option was doubling-down and lying until your nose turned red.
‘’ Yes. I’m sure. ‘’ you tried to put a little irritation to your tone to make it more believable.
After some time, he ticked his tongue and reluctantly answered,
‘’ Okay. ‘’
You waited with bated breath, for what he’d say next.
‘’ You’re coming tonight, right? ‘’
‘’ Tonight? What’s tonight? ‘’
‘’ Just hanging out. Jungwon’s house. Come over. ‘’
‘’ But- ‘’
Your protest was rudely cut off by the sound of the call ending. Looking down at the phone, a scowl formed on your face and you huffed. Another party? What was wrong with them?
You stood in the corridor, feeling completely dumbfounded. Could you even run away now, no- you glanced down at your arms, remembering what happened last time you did and cursing them for giving you such a permanent reminder.
Taking a deep breath you cautiously made your way to the entrance. Despite him not mentioning anything about the hospital, it was still pretty smart to be on your guard on the way out. Who knew if that girl had texted them as soon as you and Soobin left her room, and they rushed there to ambush you.
But it was fairly quiet when you reached the front desk. If they were hiding, they probably would’ve come out a long time ago, since you were just meters away from the entrance now.
You shrugged off the random burst of paranoia and sprinted to hail a taxi outside. Maybe they would let you go home quite early just like last time. There wasn't much you could bring to the table anyway.
You fished your phone out and texted Soobin, telling him that Sunghoon had called and told you to come to Jungwon's house. It felt a bit unusual. You’d never hung out with them after school up until the day before, when Jay dragged you to the party.
‘’ Miss, we’re here. ‘’
‘’ Thank you. ‘’
You got out and hurried inside as it was still snowing, albeit a lot less than earlier. They were standing in the entrance, all eyes on you when the taxi drove away. The gate stood wide open this time, and the front door was open which gave them a perfect view of the driveway.
‘’ Hey. ‘’ Sunoo smiled at you.
You groaned mentally, whole body screaming for you to turn back around and go home. They didn’t even give you a chance though. As soon as you had put your stuff down, you were dragged by the waist to the living room, where all those people had been last time.
However, this time the couches were empty except for when they started sitting down in them one by one. You shifted uncomfortably, being the only one still standing.
It was obvious that there was no party. No music and no other people, only the alcohol in the red cups was the recurring theme from the day before. Why did they make you come there all alone? You felt anxiety start to brew at the pit of your stomach.
‘’ I-uh…can I use the bathroom? ‘’
It was the oldest trick in the book, but hopefully they had already had so much to drink before you showed up that they wouldn’t think twice about it.
Jake was the only one who answered, with an uninterested grunt. You went right away, in case they would change their minds. Locking yourself into the bathroom you texted soobin.
6:00 pm
You: Soobin? They’ve dragged me to Jungwon’s house.
The phone pinged almost immediately, you panicked and turned off the sound, looking around in the silence to see if they might’ve noticed. Nothing moved around outside and no noises or footsteps got closer.
Next you had to suppress a laugh as you noticed you named him cousin so the others wouldn’t notice anything. Naming him ‘’ baby ‘’ would’ve made all hell break loose if they had just spotted it once.
Cousin: What? Like a party?
You: Not really, I’m the only one here.
Cousin: Can you get away?
You sucked on your lip while thinking. There wasn’t really a way out of this unless you wanted to have more wounds on your body. The whole thing felt like a very annoying headache.
Cousin: Y/n? Hello? Do you need help?
You: No! We have a plan, remember?
Cousin: Sorry :(
You: I’ll text you later
Cousin: I live close by, just run over
You: Will you drive me home? :)
Cousin: ofc!
‘’ Princess? ‘’
You jumped and almost dropped your phone clumsily in the process of getting up from the toilet seat. The phone slipped into your pocket again. You unlocked the door and stepped out, coming face to face with Heeseung.
He only looked at you briefly, then pushed past you to get to the bathroom. You went back to join the others. Sunoo and Ni-ki occupied the only couch that wasn’t full so you went to them.
Sunoo lit up when seeing you and Ni-ki only said something under his breath before moving so you could sit next to him. Sunoo handed you a cup and you poured alcohol in it, downing it almost immediately in a poor attempt to fix your uneasiness.
‘’ Not drinking? ‘’
‘’ Not a fan. ‘’
Ni-ki sounded moody, resting his elbows on his legs so his whole form was slumped over. His head didn’t raise when he talked, indicating he wanted to be left alone. You looked at Sunoo for answers but he just shrugged, mouthing ‘ bad day ‘.
‘’ Do you still box? ‘’
He finally raised his head to give you a very vehement look. ‘’ Yeah. ‘’
Sunoo tried to avoid it when his eyes averted to him, knowing he was looking at him in disbelief over what he had blurted out when he was alone with you. Whistling innocently he looked away and pretended like he was interested in the intense and lively conversation Jake and Jay were having next to him.
Now that Sunoo was turned away from you two, you leaned in a bit closer to Ni-ki, asking what you’d been wondering for a long time.
‘’ Do you even like me? ‘’
He frowned and then looked a bit caught off guard, pulling his hood further up to cover more of his face. ‘’ Yeah? I…think so. ‘’
‘’ But like, as much as the others or…’’ you trailed off.
He glared at you through his bangs which made you close your mouth again, regretting saying anything at all.
‘’ Y/n? ‘’
Sunghoon called you over, patting on the empty seat next to him where presumably Heeseung sat in before. Reluctantly you sat down, glancing at Jake and hoping you wouldn’t catch his attention any time soon, since he was extra bad when intoxicated.
Sunghoon must’ve noticed, his long fingers came up to your jaw, turning your head towards him. You stared into his bleary eyes. He looked very drunk, long gone with his pupils struggling to focus on you. But there was still some tenderness in them.
Sunghoon was slightly anxious. He’d never been alone with you before, and not this close in such an innocent way too; they all acted as a group and stuck together as one, agreeing to not be alone with you for too long.
While leaning his head back on the couch the two of you were sitting on, he turned his head to look at you. It was embarrassing how nervous you made him, as if you were some crush he had in middle school. Just looking at you made his throat close up.
‘’ Do you like this house? ‘’ he randomly blurted out, through slurred speech.
You laughed lightly which made Sunghoon smile widely.
‘’ Yeah, it’s nice. ‘’
He wanted to say more, maybe the way to your heart was to make you laugh. But he didn't get the chance to before Jungwon plopped down on the other side of the couch, next to you.
He didn’t seem at all interested in flirting with you, instead going straight into a rather serious-toned conversation, a dead-pan look on his face.
‘’ Do you know why he invited you here? ‘’
‘’ No. Not really. ‘’ you tilted your head.
‘’ From now on, we want to see you outside of school too. ‘’
You turned to him. ‘’ Why? ‘’
His lips were licked as annoyance flashed across his face, his cold eyes piercing through you. ‘’ Because we said so. ‘’
The alcohol had started to rush to your head already, making your speech a bit slower, vision blurrier but also lips bolder.
‘’ Why are you always so blunt with me? You’re kind of mean. ‘’
He grimaced at your whiny tone and got eye-contact with Sunghoon, who probably knew what his friend was thinking. But he could never really stop Jungwon, since he was the leader after all.
‘’ Because, you’re a brat. ‘’ he calmly said, although his eyes were anything but.
‘’ A brat? ‘’
You stood up and almost stumbled into his lap when the dizziness hit you. Tauntingly, you looked down at him while swinging your cup in one hand.
‘’ You’re the ones who fucking bully me, you piece of shit! ‘’
‘’ Y/n. ‘’ Sunghoon warned, seeing Jungwon’s eyes narow.
‘’ Don’t talk to me like that. ‘’
You groaned and almost ripped your hair out in frustration. His calm exterior always made you feel crazy; it made you look hysteric in comparison, and wrong when you had all the reasons to be acting like that.
‘’ Shut the fuck up! ‘’ you yelled.
He snapped. Standing up so fast you flinched and lost balance, he was there to jerk you towards him with a harsh grip around your wrist. You lost your chance to talk as he hurried to drag you upstairs, Sunghoon running behind.
You get pushed into a bedroom and Sunghoon got the door slammed in his face just as he was a few seconds away from it.
The tension in the room is high. Even though your back was turned to Jungwon, you could almost feel how he seethed of anger, but it was controlled and calculated, he was in control not you.
‘’ Face me. ‘’
You shuddered at his low voice, taking as much time as possible to turn around. The door was locked, who knew what he was going to do to you, away from the eyes of others?
‘’ I’m sorry. ‘’
You finally turned, and immediately your eyes unwillingly welled up with tears. It was the last thing you wanted to happen, but you became that girl in the gym again. Just one look at him and you wanted to cower away, beg for mercy or cry like a helpless child.
You felt like a different person outside of the school. Because when the day was over, so was the torture. Seeing him look like he wanted to tear you apart in a different environment than the bleak walls of the gym reminded you of your grim future; they would torture you in your safe haven now too. It wouldn’t be over as soon as you passed the gates. They demanded you meet them at their houses and text them. What would happen if you answered just one second too late?
Jungwon stared at you wordlessly. He felt his chest swell with pride due to the sadistic nature of the situation. He liked that you were so afraid of him and that he, more than the others could elicit such a strong reaction from you - only a puppeteer could know his toy that well, know exactly what strings to pull for what; and what is that if not love?
You saw his face unmoved by your sniffling, so as a last resort you pathetically went down on your knees, hands clasping together while incoherent pleas left your mouth.
‘’ Please…please- don’t hurt me. ‘’
He crouched and was careful not to show any emotions. ‘’ Say you’re sorry again. ‘’
You looked up at him and he almost became entranced by the look of your teary eyes, glimmering while looking up at him, only him.
‘’ I’m sorry. ‘’
‘’ Good. ‘’ His lips twitched. ‘’ Stand up. ‘’
They tugged upwards momentarily when you obeyed. You kept your head down, scared to provoke him, even by doing the slightest of things.
‘’ I’m gonna give you my number. When I text, answer. When I call, answer. ‘’
He turned his back on you to dig his phone out from a bag thrown on the floor. You got the sudden urge to attack him and then make a run for it, but that wouldn’t lead to anything but short satisfaction.
You recollected yourself in time for him turning back and handing you his phone. When you’re done and he took it back impatiently, he stared at the screen for a while. Then he pressed the number and your phone vibrated.
‘’ Save it. ‘’
You gave a fake smile and nodded. However, seeing as it didn’t seem to satisfy him, you quickly did what he asked on the spot.
‘’ You can go now. ‘’
‘’ Already? I haven’t really talked to the others, and they don’t even have my number except for Sung- ‘’ you pressed your lips shut.
Although it was slowly starting to wear off, the alcohol had made you ramble again and by the look of dissatisfaction on his face, you could tell he wanted you to shut up.
‘’ You don’t need those yet. Am I not doing you a favor? ‘’ he stepped closer, making you automatically back away.
There were only a few meters until you’d back into the wall. You prayed to God that he wouldn’t force you to back into it entirely, so he could creep over you.
‘’ Do you want to be here? ‘’
Your mouth fell open at the horrible accusation. Why would you want to be at the house of one of your bullies, where they all hung around you, taking turns to poke their sticks into your skin to get a reaction?
‘’ No. I’m leaving. ‘’
He didn’t stop you, but you heard the arrogant scoff and saw the smirk when passing by him anyway. Your angry stomping down the stairs caught the attention of the other guys.
‘’ You’re leaving already? ‘’ Jake shouted, hurrying to get up so he could follow you.
Ni-ki and Sunoo watched you curiously, not saying anything.
‘’ You basically just got here. ‘’
He tried to pull you into a hug, which you quickly slipped out of, seeing Jungwon standing at the top of the stairs.
‘’ I said she could go. ‘’
His stern voice made Jake freeze and he moved away from you, giving you a small smile which made you raise your eyebrows awkwardly.
‘’ Bye. ‘’ you mumbled, closing the door behind you.
Well that was…weird?
*******
‘’ I’m here! ‘’
Soobin ran over to greet you, a big grin plastered on his face.
Footsteps approached the hallway and rounding the corner, the owner of them, Yeonjun popped his head out. His smile dropped when seeing you.
‘’ Y/n. ‘’ he said, rather formally.
‘’ Yeonjun. ‘’
Soobin chuckled. ‘’ No need to be so awkward. You’ve met before. ‘’
You took off your shoes and he strolled off in front of you, making you hurry to follow as you didn’t want to be alone with his grumpy older brother.
‘’ Are you okay? ‘’
‘’ Yeah, it wasn’t too bad. ‘’
He looked relieved and started walking further into the house, waving at Yeonjun to come with and ultimately stopping in the living room.
‘’ Maybe we can watch a movie. ‘’
‘’ I’m fine with anything. ‘’ you smiled.
‘’ Is this the part where I leave? ‘’
‘’ Yeonjun! ‘’ Soobin gasped.
His cute attempt at trying to look stern made you snort.
Meanwhile, his older brother threw his head back and groaned in discontent, plopping down on the couch and crossing his arms in protest.
‘’ For how long? ‘’
‘’ I don’t know yet. Don’t be rude. ‘’
Soobin pressed on the control and the large flat TV screen lit up. You almost ticked your tongue and shook your head. Of course he was a Disney nerd.
He turned around, looking childishly excited, and came over to sit down next to you. The movie quite quickly became forgotten, serving as background noise while you and Soobin passionately fought over the snacks.
‘’ I’ll go make you kids some food. ‘’ Yeonjun said, rolling his eyes at the two of you, and leaving you and Soobin alone in the living room.
Soobin craned his neck to check that his older brother had really left before turning to you. There was something he had wanted to tell you for a long time.
‘’ Does he not like me? ‘’
He smiled knowingly and shook his head. ‘’ It’s not that, I promise. ‘’
‘’ Then…did he have a rough childhood or something? ‘’ you sarcastically joked as you didn’t like when people used that as an excuse to be rude.
‘’ Something like that. ‘’
You caught the way his tone sounded borderline uncomfortable so you cleared your throat awkwardly. ‘’ Sorry, I was just joking.
‘’ His friend got bullied when he was in middle school. I’m sure he just feels a bit- well, vulnerable around you. ‘’
You weren’t sure how to respond so you just hummed, it was your turn to feel uncomfortable as Soobin was determined to continue no matter what.
‘’ He really struggled to see him like that. There wasn’t much he could do. When he went to the principal he was shut down, told that it was just ‘ friends playing around ‘. Later he found out their parents were pretty rich though, and at least one of them was a part of the anti-bullying committee. ‘’ Soobin shook his head, sighing while a sour expression overtook his face.
‘’ If he confronted them, they wouldn’t beat him. No, they were different, almost psychos despite being kids. They would bully his friend harder instead, knowing it would push Yeonjun away from him because he wanted to protect his friend. In the end, he was lonely. Everyone he loved watched from a distance, knowing that if they intervened it would get even worse. ‘’
‘’ What happened after they graduated then? Did he never get his justice or revenge? ‘’
Soobin looked away from you, his heart felt heavy.
‘’ No. He never did. ‘’
Silence filled up the living room. Hearing that both made you feel incredibly sorry for Yeonjun and also anxious for your fate. Would it be the same as that boy? Would Soobin have to suffer the same way - by the sidelines watching helplessly just like his brother?
You raised your head, noticing he wasn’t completely finished with his heartbreaking story. He had to hurry because the rummaging in the kitchen had stopped, indicating Yeonjun was on his way back.
‘’ It had a very unhappy ending. Remember when I said I recognized the look in your eyes when you were walking to the rooftop? ‘’
Your heart sunk. ‘’ Yeah…’’
Did you even really want to hear the next part?
‘’ He saw that one night. While walking home from school. So just like I did, he followed his friend to a rooftop. ‘’
‘’ He wasn’t as lucky as you were? ‘’ you filled in when he got quiet again.
He nodded, a somber look on his face.
‘’ But, he didn’t jump though. ‘’
You frowned.
‘’ What? What do you mean? ‘’
‘’ He was pushed. ‘’
This time the silence was deadly, stretching on for several minutes. On the other side of the wall, Yeonjun was leaning against it, a single tear rolling down his cheek.
‘’ Did he get justice?
‘’ No. Of course not. The rich and powerful always get away with it. Yeonjun went to the police station but when they arrived, a bunch of black cars were already there. Took about ten minutes of inspecting before they concluded it was a suicide. ‘’
You felt nauseous.
‘’ Did he…did he see who pushed him? ‘’
‘’ Yeah, it was them of course. The worst out of them all did it, and while they all freaked out, he barely flinched. As a solution, they were transferred to different schools in Seoul and it was swept under the rug. Even if Yeonjun wanted to get revenge, it would be almost impossible to find them. ‘’
‘’ Fuck, that’s heavy. ‘’ you leaned back on the sofa and stared at the ceiling, taking in everything that had been said.
‘’ I think the worst part is that nobody believed him. ‘’ you turned and saw that he was crying now, his knuckles were rubbed due to the rage he felt on the inside.
Breathlessly you watched him. You hadn’t seen Soobin like this yet.
‘’ What do you mean? ‘’ you softly whispered and tried to reach out for him.
He let you take his hand, and you rubbed his knuckles instead, but in a more calming and loving manner.
‘’ Since those fuckers cleaned it up neatly, his parents fought a lot about it. When he told them, crying out and looking for support, his mom didn’t believe him, but his dad did. So they got divorced. Then, his dad met my mom. ‘’
He ruffled his hair and scoffed. ‘’ Turns out his dad didn’t really believe him either after all. One night he got drunk and confessed he had an affair and just wanted a reason for divorce. ‘’
Your other hand wrapped around his shoulder.
‘’ But you believed him. ‘’
Soobin nodded. The endless tears had started to stain his shirt.
‘’ Of course I did. He’s my brother. ‘’ he mumbled, pain coloring his voice.
‘’ Is that…why you were so quick to help me? ‘’
‘’ I thought that if I couldn’t help him then, well…’’
Struggling to find the words, you filled in for him. ‘’ Then you could help others, to prevent it from happening again? ‘’
He grimaced. ‘’ I haven’t been successful so far. People don’t really believe in me. ‘’
You felt his words sting. It hit a little too close to home and you found yourself feeling guilty for doubting him like everyone else had.
‘’ I’m sorry. ‘’
Soobin let out an airy laugh, knowing what you were thinking of.
‘’ Don’t apologize, you let me in the end, didn’t you? ‘’
You smiled shyly. ‘’ Yeah. I guess so. ‘’
He smiled too, warmth spreading all over his face. But it faded quite suddenly as he had to look away. Why was his heart beating so fast?

"Baby...I'm gonna take Gia outside to test the new swing I put up, do you wanna come?" Jungkook whispered, his hand on your back as you laid in the dark bedroom at 2 in the afternoon.
You sighed, looking up at your husbands face, "I want to but I just...Im so tired"
He nodded sadly, "okay...thats okay you dont have to, I'll take pictures?"
"yes please" you smile weakly
"mama!! mama! lets go outside!" Your 3 year old, Gia, runs into the room and stands beside your bed.
Jungkook was quick to pick her up into his arms, squeezing her, "mama isnt feeling too good right now, shes gotta rest." he whispered
"again?" your daughter pouted, her big eyes looking down at you- and with single glance, your heart was broken into 5 million pieces.
Jungkook frowned, "hey, sometimes adults get tired, its okay, we will go have fun in the backyard and you can see mama later? wave bye bye" he held her small hand up and waved for her as he began to leave the room, mouthing a soft "love you" in your direction before the door shut.
with that, the tears began to flow.
Your depression struggles have always found a way into your family, when you were dating jungkook you spent so much time explaining that sometimes you just cant function, and he was the first boyfriend you had that understood and didnt make you feel like a piece of shit for struggling with something out of your control.
It was nice, but then the fears that he would leave set in.
He always tries his best to make sure you feel loved and appreciated, when he proposed, he took you to Italy for 3 weeks just to be alone with you.
And your wedding was no different either.
He made sure you felt beautiful the way you were, showing you off at any chance he could, and even stepping away from the after party with you for a bit when things got overwhelming.
Many emotions were experienced when you became pregnant after 3 months of marriage. The guilt in believing you werent a good mother, the guilt for not having enough energy to eat most days even though you knew it wasnt just about/for yourself.
The self neglect was the worst part, and if jungkook had not been there to help you through all of the ugly, you dont know what you would have done.
You love him so much and the thought that maybe he doesnt feel that from you is terrifying, the thought that your daughter is only 3 and is already catching onto her mothers odd behavior is alarming.
Gia sees her friends moms play with them, she goes over to her cousins house and plays with their mom, why doesnt her own mom have that energy?
The tears seeped into the silk pillows as you squeezed your eyes shut.
This was how it often was for you: no emotion at all, or sadness. thats it, since you were 13.
No amount of doctor visits or therapy could fix you, and now you were letting it ruin your family.
-
A bit after Jungkook brought Gia inside, she fell asleep on the couch in the living room.
He smiled and took a photo of her small bundled up body laying on the cushion before making his way upstairs to show you.
"honey, you awake?" he mumbled, sliding open the door and walking in.
You were facing the opposite wall, feeling absolutely numb.
"baby" he smiled, kissing your forehead, "you okay? you wanna see the videos of gia?"
You tried to open your mouth to talk but nothing came out, instead your eyes teared up again and you turned your face further into the pillow to hide.
He frowned, putting his phone away as he climbed under the covers with you, his larger body spooning against yours. "sweetheart, whats going on?" his hand brought you closer
"I dont know" you whispered quietly
"just not doing good again?" he questioned, hand rubbing your side softly to soothe you.
You nod, unable to talk.
"im here for you, did you take your medication?"
"no.."
"okay well lets do that now so we dont forget, okay?" he sat up and pulled open your nightstand drawer, taking the pill you take daily and handing it to you alongside a water bottle.
You gently sat up and leaned against the headboard, taking the pill.
"where is she?" you asked quietly, teary eyes catching to kooks in the dimly lit bedroom.
"she passed out on the couch downstairs, bam is laying with her" he smiled, finding a cozy spot beside you again.
"am I a bad mom?" you question, watching his face contort
"what? why would you ask me that? of course you arent"
"jungkook I havent been able to leave the room for 2 days, this isnt normal....she misses me, she needs her mommy and im failing her" your voice cracked slightly as jungkook immediately brought you into his arms, caging you against him.
"dont talk like that, you are such an amazing woman, y/n. I would have never married you otherwise. You are so fucking strong and you cant let yourself fall into this dark space, you are struggling, yes, but we take it step by step, just like we've always done." he rubs your back as he speaks, "and Gia doesnt feel left out, she would not stop talking about you the entire time we were outside. Dont tell her I told you but she picked a bunch of 'flowers' for you" he giggled, "I didnt have the heart to tell her they were just weeds"
You allow yourself to laugh softly, leaning into your husbands embrace.
"you are doing so well....so incredibly well baby. I know life isnt always fair but we cant blame ourselves, we have to pick up what we have learned and move on as stronger people."
You nod, looking at him as he wipes the tear on your cheek.
"my beautiful girl, I love you so much, you know that?"
You smile sadly, "I love you too"
"can I take you downstairs and we can cuddle on the couch? I'll cook for you, you havent eaten in hours"
"okay" you sniff, allowing jungkook to help you up and keep a blanket wrapped around your body.
-
"mommy!"
Gia's toothless smile greeted you as you came downstairs, Bam laying on her protectively.
"Hi baby" you waved and walked over, sitting onto the couch and letting her crawl into your lap. "I missed you sweetheart, oh- your overalls are backwards" you giggled softly
Jungkook blushed as he sat on the other side of you, sharing a funny glance with his daughter.
"daddy dress me" she whispered
"I can tell" you smile, squeezing her tightly and rocking back and forth gently.
"my pretty girls" jungkook whispered, more so to himself than directed at you both.
"and bammy" gia added on, hiding her face against your chest.
"and bammy" you insisted, rubbing her back
Jungkook leaned over to wrap you two into his arms, kissing both of your heads.
"did you have fun outside" you asked
Gia giggled, "yeah...but daddy pushed the swing too much, I fell" she babbled
"what?" You look at your husband
"shes okay, shes breathing, shes here" he began, smothering his hands over his little girls face as she laughed loudly.
"mama feeling okay?" she asked once you all calmed down,
"mama is doing okay, my dear. Dont worry about me, I love you so much" you squished her face softly and kissed her nose
"love you more!!" she added, clapping her hands
"Love you most!!" You couldnt help but smile as jungkook leaned his head against the back of the couch, eyes drawn on his wife and daughter only.
"i'll make some lunch" he spoke, standing
"yay!! I help?" Gia hopefully asked
"no no, you girls sit there and look cute" he winked at you before walking off to the kitchen, bam following him in hopes of getting a treat.
You loved your little family, and you wouldnt trade them for anything the world had more to offer.
They were the ones who got your through the toughest part of life, and you were grateful that in this moment you didnt have to fake a smile.

This is in response to some arguments in defense of the finale I've seen recently, and if you do believe these, then more power to you! But I disagree, and I'm gonna talk about why.
Rant under the cut. Fair warning, this gets pretty salty.
So I've seen a lot of arguments about how it just wouldn't be possible to have Adrien in the final battle, whether it be because it would be too traumatic for him and we can't explore that in the middle of a fight, or because it would take away focus from Marinette and she would be irrelevant ultimately. And I actually agree!
But what could possibly be done to resolve this? Oh, I know! Fucking write better.
If you were going to put Adrien in the position of being central to the story and write him out with the excuse that he can't live up to that role for various reasons, then why did you write him in that role? It's obvious to anyone that if Gabriel is Adrien's father, then the emotional weight of the conflict would be centered on him and not Marinette. Then why did you still write that into the show? If you wanted to focus on Marinette over Adrien anyway, then why did you make Gabriel be Hawkmoth? Let some other rando be Hawkmoth! And now there's no value to Gabriel being the villain beyond giving Marinette some material for her grand speech (which didn't do shit cause she still lost).
And if you were going to say that Adrien was too traumatized to be in the battle or that he wouldn't be able to deal with it well or that we couldn't see that... write around it? Have him deal with it before, or something, I don't know! Maybe give him that sweet sweet character development? Maybe let the friends who are supposed to support him actually do that? Idk man, this is all coming across as a bunch of excuses to me.
The thing is, this is a kids show. It's not real. The writers control everything that happens. It's not about "realism," it's about narrative payoff. It's about the most satisfying outcome. It's about character arcs. If Adrien was never supposed to face his father in a fight, then why make him a superhero? Could have just let him be Adrien the teen model love interest while Marinette is the superhero. Why give him powers which thematically represent him breaking free from his oppressive life and an enmity with his own father if it never mattered? If "it's us against the world, my lady," and "we'll get all the Miraculous back together," never mattered, then why include it? If two partners chosen to fight evil together and the yin-yang symbolism never mattered, why set it up?
If you set something up, you have a responsibility to deliver on it, and Miraculous failed. And yeah. I get that it's hard. I'm not saying writing is easy. But anything is better than this! Writing is your job, and I don't expect literal perfection, but I expect it to fulfill the basic expectations of writing. I expect it to at least be good. This is not good. They literally ignored their own story and themes and character arcs and narrative payoff because they wanted Marinette to get a swanky new outfit and a cool fight scene. It wasn't even for her character. It's just so that they can put give her a cool power-up and sell Bug Noire dolls. It's disrespectful to Adrien's character, and it's disrespectful to Marinette's character too.
The writers failed to make Marinette interesting in terms of the conflict with Gabriel. They gave all the set-up to Adrien and didn't want to write the payoff. There are no emotional stakes in the final battle. They literally only talk about Adrien, and he's not there for that. It's bad writing. And if they didn't let Adrien be a part of the arc with his father as the villain, what hope does he have in the arcs with Lila as the antagonist, since she is a Marinette-centric villain? TA has already said that Marinette is Barbie and Adrien is just Ken. The writers have said that Gabriel is considered a hero by the end of Season 5. The show bible says that Adrien will never find out that his father is Hawkmoth.
Let's face it, they aren't coming back to this. Gabriel's era is over. Miraculous is well known for setting up conflicts and dropping them like a hot potato. If we ever deal with this, it's gonna be half an episode of Adrien forgiving Marinette because "she did it out of love." None of this will matter come Season 6. The supposed conflict being set up now will matter to Season 6 as much as the Ladynoir set up in Strikeback with the "we'll take back all the Miraculous together, you and me," mattered to Season 5, which is to say not at all.

The KC Couple - Part 9
Word Count: 1327
Warnings: language, pregnancy talk, hints to smut,
A/N: I am tag-teaming games. I am just going to give an update for week 4. I just didn't know what to write for the game part...
Week 4 - 10/1 @ New York Jets
Chiefs Win 23-20. Updated record of 3-1. Travis did not get a touchdown.
Y/N got ready to head to bed for the night. It was the night before the game in Minnesota and you were exhausted. You and Travis had ran around the house trying to get things ready for the upcoming week. It was a short week for the Chiefs. They had a game tomorrow, which was October 8, then another game on Thursday, the 12th. You knew it was going to be chaotic and you were expecting it. You were glad it was a home game on Thursday.
Travis was currently in the basement of the house working out. He wanted a light workout but didn’t want to go to the facility. You knew his workouts like the back of your hand, and you knew he was almost done. You walked into Travis’s office and plugged in his iPad for the rest of the night.
Travis came back upstairs a few moments later.
“I was gonna hop in the shower. Do you wanna join me?”
“If I join you we will be in there a lot longer than we need to be. And you need to finish getting everything ready for the big game.”
“Ugh, ok. I’ll be out in a minute.
Travis came out shortly after. He wrapped his arms around your waist rubbing your bump.
“She is growing.”
“Yeah she is supposed to be growing.”
“I know but she is growing even with her being underweight.”
You started to tear up.
“What? What’s wrong?”
“What if she comes early and we can’t control it?”
“We will deal with that if it happens and if it does it will be ok.”
“What if she comes during one of your games. Then what do I do?”
“Oh. I didn’t really think about that. I don’t know.”
“Travis, that doesn’t make me feel better.”
“I’m sorry. I’ll talk to management and Coach tomorrow morning about what to do.”
“Ok. What time do you guys leave tomorrow?”
“I don’t want to tell you.”
“What time Travis?”
“7.”
“Are you serious? It is a primetime game.” (A/N: I know it isn’t an actual primetime game but just roll with it.)
“I don’t know that is just what coach told us.”
“Ok. So what time are you leaving here?”
“Like 6:30. I’m not getting there any fucking earlier than I need to.”
“Awe you just want to spend the most amount of time with me before you leave.”
“Duh. I fucking love you.”
Time Skip to the next morning
Travis woke up around 6 and finished getting everything ready to go and took it downstairs to the living room. He came back upstairs and kissed your forehead.
“Are you leaving?” you asked, keeping your eyes closed.
“Yeah. I’ll call you when we land in Minnesota.”
“Ok, love you.”
“Love you too baby.”
3 hours later
Travis had no idea that you were currently on a plane to Minneapolis, Minnesota. You were still good to fly and wanted to surprise Travis. This would probably be the last away game you would go to before you started staying home. You had already planned everything out with Coach Reid. Saying that you were going to be surprising Travis on the sidelines during warm ups. Coach said warm ups would start around 5:30. The flight to Minneapolis was only an hour and a half long from Kansas City.
You made it to your hotel room around 12. You were going to meet Brittany for lunch and then go shopping for a bit before heading to the stadium.
Warm Ups
You were currently standing on the sidelines with a bunch of fans. You waited for about 15 minutes before the Chief’s players came out of the tunnel to the field. You saw Travis immediately, and a security guard came over to take you to the bench. You watched Travis for a bit before he came over to get a drink of water. You hid behind a group of people and waited. Once he had set the water bottle back down and turned his back you ran up behind him. He turned around and looked shocked.
“What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to surprise you.”
“I am definitely surprised. Hi.”
“Hi. You looked good out there.”
He blushed.
“Thanks pretty girl.”
“Are you nervous?”
“No, my knee was feeling a little sore but it is good now.”
“Ok. I am excited to watch you play.”
“I am excited you are here. I was nervous that for the short week this week we wouldn’t be able to see each other as much as normal. So I am glad I get to see you now.”
“I think this will be my last week coming to away games until Baby K comes.”
“I think we should announce baby K to the world today. I want to tell everyone.”
“Ok. I was gonna talk to you about that tomorrow. But I like that idea. What if once you guys come back out in uniform we get Brittany to take a picture of you kneeling down kissing my currently hidden bump.”
“Oh I like that.”
You gave him a few more kisses before he had to go back to the locker room to change. You went over to Brittany and told her the plan. She was excited to tell everyone.
You waited a few more minutes before the team came back out. The stadium booed. You made your way back to Travis. You took off your jacket, that was hiding your bump. You were close enough to the stands to hear people asking if you were pregnant. Travis knelt down and kissed your bump as Brittany took the photo. She sent it to you immediately. Travis stood back up and kissed you.
“Good luck out there. Stay safe. Get a touchdown or two. I love you.”
“I’ll try. I love you too. Go enjoy the good pretzels you like when we come here.”
You watched him run back onto the field.
2nd Quarter of the Game
It was the second quarter and you were sitting next to Brittany in a suite. You watched as Patrick threw the ball to Travis. Travis went to run the ball before getting caught up in the turf. He hit the ground immediately.
“Come on Trav,” you said, getting anxious immediately.
“He’s ok,” Brittany said, trying to reassure you.
Travis limped off the field to the bench. The camera zoomed in on his face. He looked like he was in pain.
“It’s a low ankle sprain,” you said staring into the TV screen on the wall.
“It’ll be fine. He’s ok. He’ll go in and get an X-ray in a minute.”
“Nothing is worse than our rookie season and the two concussions he had in the 2017 season.”
“See that is somewhat positive.”
Time skip
Travis came back out in the second half looking like it hadn’t even happened. He went on to score a touchdown. The Chiefs won 27-20. Making the record 4-1.
You headed down to the family waiting area. Travis and his teammates came out about an hour later. Travis came over to you.
“How’s our photo? Did it blow up the world?” he asked you.
You hadn’t looked at your phone the entire game. You posted the photo shortly after kick-off, then turned your phone off for the rest of the game.
“I don’t know, let's check.”
You scrolled through the comments for a little bit. Most of your followers were ecstatic over the news. You had a few rude comments here and there but you had gotten used to them and learned to ignore them. Your normal posts got about 1-2 million likes, but this photo was currently sitting at 4.8 million likes. With the caption: “Mommy and Daddy can’t wait to bring you to your first game. We can’t wait to share our bundle of joy with the world. Baby Kelce (or Baby K) coming 2024.”

okay so i binged the entire show and now i have thoughts.
positives
- the set is absolutely stunning i was breath taken every time it’s as if they just pulled it straight out of the cartoon. incredible
- the castings were so good! they really are what i would have envisioned
- APPA AND MOMO ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!
- i think merging the earth kingdom episodes was a smart PRODUCTION decision. it was confusing as an og watcher however it makes sense for the live version cause they can’t just keep coming back to the earth kingdom (they mixed eps 5, 10, 17) and also i believe they linked it well so i’m alright with it genuinely.
- zuko’s actor perfectly nailed the acting. whenever it was a flashback scene it felt like zuko was 3 years younger despite looking the same, because zuko was more innocent sounding. and then the acting for current zuko was major sass (which was the best part)
- SUKI ATE DOWN SO HARD
- avatar kyoshi was 7 FOOT TALL. all i have to say
- sokkas actor ate down i fear 🫶
negatives (or just minor critics)
- azula, ty lee and mai were not supposed to be in book/season 1 and it didn’t really make sense for them. i love all 3 their my girls however it felt like a fan service and they didn’t really provide any plot development. ESPECIALLY MAI AND TY LEE i swear the girls just stood and watched azula fight and that’s all. i think what could/should have been done is feature azula at the end scene like they did and make it a whole big reveal and if they really wanted to provide fan service chuck mai and ty lee next to her. i understand the girls are fan favourites but if they wanted to make hype for the second season it would have been better to just show them at the very end to get fans excited. instead i found myself annoyed when they popped up because they weren’t needed.
- it would have been fine to have the girls for flashback scenes. also! in book 2 we start off with azula having to find mai and ty lee. they aren’t meant to just be together already. what happened to circus ty lee? that’s like a really important detail idk.
- i felt the humour was lacking. NOT BECAUSE OF THE ACTORS. it was not their fault and i loved sokkas deliveries when he had the chance to. the blame is on the writers but the issue was is the series was more dark (which is fine) but it erased the humour from the show so toward the end i found myself getting a bit bored. i think what caused this is the removal of the “filler” episodes.
- secret tunnel? that is meant to be in season 2 and i felt a bit robbed because wdym that’s all we got?
- i also feel that the found family trope wasn’t executed as well as it could have been probably also because it lacked filler episodes. we didn’t get to see them hang out and actually get to know each other so we haven’t seen them build that connection yet. obviously we assume with context they have but idk it makes it lack.
- yue my girl 😭 first of all the wig which i’m not gonna talk about. i cant exactly place what was wrong but yue’s storyline made me cry my eyes out for days and i LOVE HER. for whatever reason i did not feel this way. i want to say it might be because suki & sokka kissed like in ep2 which felt like 5 days ago idk. -> also i jumped up and down when that happened. but it just felt like not as dramatic as it was which was so upsetting cause i was getting ready to bawl.
- katara was more chill. i love her actress btw i blame the directors for this. i just feel like they swapped sokka & kataras roles sort of, sokka was shown as the more mature one and trying to be like his dad whereas katara was viewed as the “little girl” their whole dynamic was that katara was way more mature to the point sokka ONLY PICTURED KATATA when he thought of his OWN MUM? i also feel like katata didnt blow up and get angry as much as she should of idk?

hey i am in absolute awe of your works, could i request one where reader and rio has a 5 year old daughter and reader is sleeping late and rio has to do her hair but fails miserably.
Thank you sm! This one was a cute one to write. I hope you like it!

Tumblr media
Wednesday morning
word count ♡ 721
summary ♡ You're sick and sleeping late leaving Rio to do your daughter's hair for the school day
situation ♡ fluffy
---
It had been such a long week even though it was only Wednesday but being sick made everything seem so drawn out. A mother and a wife were full-time jobs, so things needed to be done punctually but this morning, the bed felt better than anything else.
“Mama?” Your 5-year-old called with the hair supply bucket in one hand. The medicine and the memory foam were too much for you to comprehend anyone or anything in that room, therefore your daughter was going to have to figure this out herself.
You all had a strict routine so once you helped your daughter get ready for school, Rio would be ready to drop her off, but he noticed he had too much time on his hands while making her lunch.
“Y/D/N, time to go!” He called, grabbing her bag and his keys. She didn’t come running so he called for a second time until he got irritated and walked to her room.
There was one thing that could make him go soft in this world and that was his daughter crying. He was putty in her hands every time.
“Baby girl, what’s wrong?” He bent down to her level as she sniffled.
“Mommy’s sleeping and I can’t do my hair.” She cried harder. He held her close and rubbed her back.
“Alright, mama. Do you want some help?” he asked, knowing he didn’t know how to do hair but would be damned if he didn’t try.
She nodded and wiped away her tears. “Do you need some more time?” He asked and she shook her head.
He picked her up to sit on the counter in front of the bathroom mirror. “Whatchu want, a ponytail, a bun, daddy can do it all.” He said, hoping if he said it enough it would come true.
“Braids!” She smiled, clasping her hands together waiting for him to get started.
“You know I think a hat would be so beautiful on you, baby girl.” He tried to deflect.
“But you said you could do it all.” She frowned.
“Daddy lied”. He thought to himself.
He nodded and pulled his phone out. “I’m just gonna reteach myself since it’s been such a long time.”
He had seen you do braids all the time but couldn’t remember exactly how but time was just going by as he watched multiple tutorials, your daughter becoming impatient.
“Daddy, can you just do a ponytail? I think I missed the weather song at school already.” She pouted, her little chin resting in her hand.
He nodded and went to smoothing product in her hair before brushing into a ponytail but before he could wrap the scrunchie, she started tearing again.
“Is it too tight?” he asked, letting go. She shook her head, her lip quivering.
“Use your words, mama.” He said, setting the brush down.
She wiped her tears with the back of her hands. “Sorry.” She spoke.
“Don’t apologize for crying, we all cry.” he said, kissing her forehead.
“Even you?” She looked up at him. Rio wasn’t much of a crier; he handled his sadness differently.
“Sometimes,” he said and that was the truth. He shed a tear when mick almost died, and shed a couple for your daughter when she was born not only because she was the greatest gift but also because living was hard.
“But even though you cry, it’s important that you can talk about how you’re feeling, right?” He said.
She nodded. “I don’t like the ponytail.” She frowned.
“It’s scary to be honest, isn’t it?” he asked, attempting to do the braids she initially wanted.
She nodded, looking at him in the mirror now. “But it’s good to be honest otherwise people ain’t gonna how to help you or know how to treat you.” He explained, carefully intertwining each strand.
“And people like you who cry are so strong. Sometimes it’s really hard to show that you’re hurting.” He made her feel on top of the world in just a few short words and he didn’t do too bad on the braids.
He clasped a couple of barrettes at the ends, and she gasped in excitement.
“You did good, daddy!” She turned around to hug him tightly.
The best feeling in the world and he dreaded the day she’d be all grown up.

Ruben Dias x Reader - Set Me Free Part 3/15
Part 4 and 5 are already out on my Patreon for Free!
Ruben stalking his exgirlfriend in this chapter is hilarious to me 😅
Tumblr media
Ruben and Carla have grown apart. With Rubens career taking off he leaves Portugal to live the life of his dreams, breaking Carla's heart doing so. Years later, upon his return home, Ruben learns that Carla has moved on, happily engaged to another man, but not any man, Ruben's childhood bully João Mendes.
Enjoy!
Carla had done enough crying for one person, enough was enough. She got up and out of bed for the first time since her arrival to her parents house.
"Carla, you're up."
"Finally." Maria sighed.
The atmosphere was odd as she entered the kitchen downstairs. Her aunt and uncle stood at the sight of her and so did Carla's mother, only Maria remained seated at the table.
"What?" Carla frowned.
Her mother stepped forward, her voice soft. "How are you feeling, querida?"
"Um...better now." She replied. Sure, her eyes were still puffy from crying but it's not like she wasn't the cause of it. She broke up with João Mendes, not the other way around.
"Please, sit." Her uncle said, offering Carla to take his seat at the table.
"It's okay, uncle Martin, I'm just gonna grab a drink and go."
"Go where?" Her mother flinched.
"Up....stairs?"
"Oh, okay."
There was a unified sigh of relief.
"What's going on?" Carla asked. "Why are you all acting so....strange?"
"Strange, who's acting strange?" Her aunt chuckled nervously.
Maria rolled her eyes. "Okay, I'm guessing none of you are gonna tell her?"
"Tell me what?"
"Maria, don't!" Carla's mother snapped.
"Mom?"
"Carla." Her uncle approached, putting a hand to her shoulder as to guide her to the breakfast table. "Have something to eat, querida. You must be starving after all those days spent in your room."
"No." She shrugged him off. "Not until you tell me what the hell is going on."
"Language Carla."
She ignored her mother, turning to her cousin for answers.
"Ruben's back." Maria said, not sugar coating the big news.
"But he's not staying for long." Her mother was quick to add, seeing how Carla had stiffened. "Gloria brought him to the salon the other day. The audacity of that woman. Nevertheless, Ruben is only here for a short visit. He's preparing for a tournament of some sort."
"Of some sort." Her uncle scuffed. "What your mother meant to say is that Ruben is back training with Portugal for the European championship this summer.
"I see." Carla nodded, the initial shock having left her. However, now she understood why there was such commotion when she entered the room. "Was there something else?" She said, her stale reply shocking everyone.
"Well, we thought that you may want to stay inside as to not bump into each other in the street." Her mother said, to which her aunt and uncle nodded agreeingly. Only Maria didn't appear as high-strung. Perhaps because she was away at university during the darkest period in Carla's life. After Ruben left her to chase his dreams in England, Carla was left with no sense of direction whatsoever. The two days in bed she spent mourning João Mendes were nothing compared to the year she spent sobbing over Ruben Dias. Carla lost so much weight from not eating that her mother had to call a handful of her family members to keep an eye on her when they couldn't, hence her aunt and uncle's nervous demeanor.
"Mom, it's okay." Carla reassured. "I'm not gonna stay inside and hide from a person who is absolutely out of my life. I mean, unless Ruben shows up on our doorstep and...."
The door bell rang.
"It's him, it's Ruben!" Maria exclaimed, her head peeking through the window curtains.
"I'll go get it." Her uncle volunteered.
"No." Her mother said, her expression set. "I'll go get it."
"Mom. It's...."
"Carla." She raised her hand. "You owe that man nothing, not a damn word."
"But I..."
"Martin." Her mother said, calling for Carla's uncle."
"Yes, irmã?"
"Make sure Carla doesn't go anywhere near the door."
"Yes, ma'am."
Carla had no choice. She was held back, ushered upstairs to her room as her mother charged towards the door.
"What do you think he wants?" She asked her cousin.
"I dunno. Maybe he wants you back again."
Carla nodded. "Maybe."
There had been numerous attempts. Attempts where Ruben had called or texted her, without success. Carla didn't feel comfortable replying to her ex-boyfriend's message whilst in another relationship. She never even opened them, the messages. They got deleted right away, before João could see. God knows how he would react. He and Ruben weren't exactly friendly with each other growing up. João was actually quite awful towards Ruben, always giving him hell whenever he could. Nevertheless that was in the past, when Carla didn't know João, before the two of them reunited as adults. When Ruben was long gone, out of Carla's life for good.
Or so she thought
"Look! I think he's leaving."
Carla sighed. "Please get away from the window Maria. He might see you."
Just then Maria gasped and shut the curtains, pressing her back to the wall.
"What?" Carla left her bed, curious as to what had caused her cousin's reaction.
"I think he saw me. Quick, hide behind me."
"I will do no such thing." Carla frowned. She was not a victim. Ruben no longer had a hold of her heart. Not now, not ever.
During her brief moment of bravery, Carla reached out to remove the curtains, exposing herself through her bedroom window. She squinted her eyes as the sunlight hit her eyes and there he stood, as handsome as ever. "Ruben."
"What are you doing, get away from there." Her cousin snapped.
Carla couldn't move, however. She didn't want to move. "Ruben." She whispered.
His shoulders withered at the sight of her. He was taller than she remembered, much much taller. His expression wore no emotion, but then....a smile.
"What is he doing?" Maria asked, still out of sight, her back pressed to the wall.
"Nothing, he's just....standing there I guess." Carla didn't have the strange to diverge her eyes. They were left staring at a memory, an illusion, a dream. Her eyes were left staring at the man of her dreams.
"Great." Her cousin said. "You best get out of there before your mother...."
"Carla?"
There was a hard knock on her door. "Carla, open the door now!"
"Told you." Maria sighed.
Her mother, aunt and uncle were probably wondering why Ruben hadn't left their front yard yet. Or why he was staring up towards the second floor.
"I told you to get away from there." Maria said, Her back leaving the wall, on her way to open the bedroom door.
"Wait!" Carla exclaimed, to which her cousin's steps altered.
"Carla what are you..."
"Just wait." She said, reaching for her phone on the nightstand.
"Carla, don't."
It was too late, her mind was made up. Below her window Ruben stood watching, watching as Carla dialed the only number she had come to memorize as a child that wasn't her parents. A long shot. Ruben could have changed his a long time ago, nevertheless she let the phone ring and after two beats she watched him fumble for something in his pocket, his phone.
"Carla?"
His voice sparked through her ear like a familiar song, his deep voice melting her heart.
"What do you want?" She asked, her voice cold and distant.
"I....I wanted to talk to you." He said, watching her from below.
"There is nothing for us to talk about Ruben, now leave before my mother sends my uncle to chase you away."
Her mother was still banging on the bedroom door, a distant noise in Carla's ears. Nevertheless Maria was getting anxious for Carla to hang up the phone.
"I want to talk about our promise." Ruben said. A bit unexpected to Carla as he had never brought it up before, not even the last time that they bumped into each other on Christmas eve three years ago.
"Hello, Carla?" Ruben sounded anxious, anxious that she had hung up on him.
"Fine." She said, "Meet me at our spot, tonight."
"Okay."
"If you're late Ruben, trust me I'm leaving."
"I trust you." He said, and to Carla's frustration he was smiling up at her window. The same boyish smile he took forever to show her.
"That's it, I'm too grown to be punished by aunt Gloria." Maria rushed to open the door. Carla was quick to leave the window, returning to the bed. She sat with her hands in her lamp, anticipating her mother's wrath.
"If that man doesn't..." Carla's mother stumbled into the room, charging straight to the window. She looked puzzled. "Where did he go?" She spun around.
"Who?" Carla played dumb.
"What do you mean who, Ruben, of course. He was standing right...." Her mother paused, eyes searching her daughter's face. "Nevermind." She returned to the door, pausing in the frame. "I want you girls dressed and ready to come with us to the cemetery. We'll wait for nobody.
"Yes, mom. We will be ready." Carla assured.
"Good."
Maria waited for the door to shut before she spoke. "Carla, please don't tell me that you're not going to see Ruben tonight."
"I am."
"But why? Like aunt Gloria said, Ruben did you dirty and doesn't deserve a word from you."
"I get that. It's just something I have to do."
"And what is that exactly?"
"I have to end things. Once and for all I have to end things between me and Ruben."
And there was only one way to do it. Carla had to break her promise.

I can't believe I have to post about this a second time in a year, but I have another sick kitty...
We lost our senior cat Henry in February, it was just time for him to go. He was a handsome and wonderful 14 years old, and had been with us since we were children.
And not long after we lost him, my sibling and I (we live together) decided the apartment was just too empty without him...we were missing the warmth and the joy that a sweet kitty cat brought with him.
So we each adopted our very own cats; a handsome long-haired 3 month old boy named Gojo, and a beautiful short-haired 5 month old girl named Luisa.
Luisa is my baby girl. She was born in September, the same month as me, and she's my whole world. But the last few days, she's been eating less, playing less, and getting more and more docile and lethargic.
I took her to the emergency vet today because she wasn't eating at all and was hiding since yesterday morning. He told me that she had an auto immune disorder, and was extremely anemic.
He gave me three options; try steroids and antibiotics, see if she responds to them, or they could hospitalize her and give her a blood transfusion, which was way, way too expensive...if I had the money I would've done it in a heartbeat, and it breaks my heart to think that I could've done more for her if I had a better job and could provide for my baby more. And the third option was to put her to sleep there, because her odds were slim.
I chose the option to get her medication, which was a quarter the cost of a hospitalization, and he assured me typically saw really good results, but that sometimes it would take a few days or a week or two before seeing improvement.
I gave her the first dose as soon as we got home, got her set up in my room, but she's still not eating, won't go to the bathroom, and I'm just really, really worried that I'm gonna have to say goodbye to her, before she's even a year old.
I'm just not ready to say goodbye again. Twice in the same year, two of my sweet babies. I am not ready to do that again. It happened so fast. The shelter I got her at likely had no idea she was sick; she showed no signs of it until just a few days ago. I hate that she's so fragile, and that I can't do enough for her. It's just crushing.
I want to try and focus on the positive, and hope that she's gonna pull through in the next few days. I'm just so sad, because it wasn't that long ago I saw this behavior in a dying cat. I know what it looks like, I felt it, I could see it. And I'm not ready to do that again.
I was supposed to have at least ten years with this slinky little baby. I don't want to believe that I'm gonna have to say goodbye to her. I won't know for at least a few days; but if she stops eating and she can't go to the bathroom, I don't know where to go from there.
I just wanted to vent, I wanted to let you all know that's what I'm dealing with right now. I hope you'll continue to have patience with me, and to those who commissioned art from me, I'm gonna work hard to get it done ASAP since it's already been a while, and I just need to do something to keep my mind off of what's going on right now.
But yeah. That's what's going on at this moment, and so if I sort of disappear for a little while or my posts go a while without anything, that's why.
Thanks for being so sweet, you guys are such a wonderful group of fellow FE enthusiasts and I love writing for you all. It's without a doubt the group of the friendliest and sweetest people I've ever run into; whenever awful things were going on, IRL or online, I would always come here because the drama or the stressful mess would never reach it; this place is my little safe haven haha
So thank you for being here, and thank you for listening and for your patience! I'll do everything I can to keep up.

"You are such a prick!"
"Oh please! Y/n, I told you I'm sorry."
The glare you sent was like a laser beam straight into his eyes.
"Not sorry enough." Steve saw your face soften, sighing as his hands that were on his hips fell. "You went behind my back and spend time with her."
Steve's face changed to one of disbelief. He really couldn't wrap his head about the words they were spilling out of your mouth.
"What are you on-"
"After everything that she did! After she hurt you!" Your eyebrows creased, frustration plainly visible. The words were spat out with so much venom.
"I was there to pick up the pieces. I was there to tell you everything was okay. I was there to tell you that you were worthy of love. I was there to give you that love. Not Nancy. No, she was too busy with Jonathan-her boyfriend, incase you forgot about him."
"Y/n, that's not-"
"I'm not done." Steve shut his mouth as you raised a hand and sent him another glare.
"She hurt you. Multiple times." It seemed like every ounce of anger disappear and was replaced with sadness, atleast in your eyes.
"Steve, I will not be pushed aside for her again. I already was enough when you two were dating and I was just a friend. I will not do it again."
A cloud of silence and awkwardness set over small living room to your apartment.
Steve wanted to say something- anything to help settle things.
"That's not all that happened." He sighed.
Looking up, he saw you were already looking at him. Defeat plastered on your face.
"She didn't just try to kiss me, she uh," He had to look away, suddenly finding the vase on the side table so interesting. The dying flower's withered edges seemed to keep him grounded.
"What, Steve? What did you two do after that?"
"We...went a little further- but we stopped before it got too serious and I came straight back to you, y/n. Please just-"
"Get out."
"What?"
"I will not be a second choice."
"You're not a second choice."
"Then why do I feel like it? If she were to call you up, we all know you'd hop in your car and leave everything behind."
"I wouldn't."
"Yes you would. Because you still love her. It will always be her. And that's not fair for everyone else."
He looked at you with so much disbelief, it's like he was stuck to the floor with bricks holding his feet.
"I get the whole “you'll never get over your first love”, but you didn't even try." You hated the way your voice cracked, whether it made you sound weak or let your emotions slip, you didn't care. You just wanted him out.
❀❀❀❀❀
"Robin, for the 50th time, I am not getting a Tom Cruise poster for you to hang in my car window." Steve sighed, tired to discussing the same thing.
"But people would think you're cool. Don't you need all the extra points you can get?" Robin smiled a cheesey grin, nearly falling over a cardboard cutout, in return apologizing to it.
Walking up to the counter, you slowed, seeing Steve with the stupid green vest.
Robin must have seen you coming up to the counter cause she moved around the boy. "I got it." She smiled at you, checking what goods you were at the lovely Family Video. "Jeez, The Outsiders and The Breakfast Club. Mind if I join?"
She loved that she made you crack a smile, easing the awkwardness that has been there for 5 months.
Robin hated seeing Steve the way he was after your breakup. She hated seeing the way he acted with Nancy more.
It felt so...one-sided. it looked one-sided. And turns out it was. Steve spend a solid 2 weeks kicking his own ass, and another 3 weeks kissing up to Nancy's ass. Well before she broke up off cause her and Jonathan were gonna ‘try to work it out’.
"Nah, I think I'll fangirl over Dallas Winston by myself. Don't need to make myself look even more like a fool from your perception" Glancing over at Steve, you saw he was already looking at you.
Those puppy eyes just taking in your hair that you lazily styled. And your clothes that you make look good somehow. It could be the ugliest outfit ever on someone else, but the second you put it on, he's gawking, wondering how on the hell you do it.
"Oh! I got you a Care Bear the other day. It is so adorable, y/n." Robin squealed, remembering how much of a cuteness overload she had in the store.
"Well thank you. It seemed to have left a few at Steve's."
Steve couldn't lie and say he didn't know what you were talking about. When you two split, he put your stuff, including like 3 bears into a cardboard box and put it in the bottom of his closet, never finding the right time to give it to you.
"I'll swing by and get 'em on my way to your house when I take the other bear."
You thanked her with a smile. Sure, sometimes she's all over the place with anxiety making her throw up words and gibberish, but she was always there to step between you and Steve, and somehow make it less awkward. Or Atleast try. She was both your friend and Steve's, and she'll make sure it stays that way, even after you and Steve drifted apart. She's not willing to lose either of you.
"Sixteen Candles, Tex, and Rumble Fish got replaced. All new." Steve finally spoke, getting a nod in return.
"I know, I saw."
You two used to rewatch those 3 movies on repeat. It was kinda like a tradition. He comes over to your place after work, eats dinner, cuddles up into the couch and you two just melt into each other. Not anymore.
"Look I'm sorry-"
"10 buckaroos and 14 cents, please."
Robin made it quick, taking the money and giving you your change and movies before Steve started in on his half-assed apology. No matter how much he tried, none of his apologies seemed sincere. Especially when he has to keep doing it over and over again, all cause he's an idiot and make idiotic choices.
"I'll call you after work to bring you your stuff. Bye!"
You waved as you walked out the door, sending her a grateful grin. You would not have made it this far being sane with Steve. There would have already been an outburst or 2.
You didn't feel the need to try with him anymore. Whether that be as a couple or just friends. He broke your trust and lied to you about it.

100 Days of Deathduo
Day Nine- Reverse Phasmo Au Chapter 5/The final Chapter
Tw: Past character death
The final chapter! This is so exciting.
The bottom half of the house is almost completely done. Pretty soon Clover will be able to work on the upstairs, will be able to put her own furniture and renovations in. While that does require her to visit the ghost, she doesn’t really think that will be a problem. After what happened last time, she has a feeling the ghost isn’t necessarily malicious. And they had looked so sadly at the music box, it was hard to view them as evil and harmful. Perhaps it was a naive way of thinking, but well, she just couldn’t.
That didn’t mean that Clover was particularly excited to get to cleaning out their room, but well. It had to be done, eventually. At least she had a homemade walk in freezer, now. She was still gonna save that room for last. And invest in some hand warmers. And hope that the ghost wasn’t too much of a problem.
What was an actual problem was the growing pile of papers and mementos. It would be resolved soon, hopefully. She had found an old address book, and had managed to get in contact with one of the previous people that had lived here. Clover was pretty sure it was the brother that had shown up in the pictures, and he had agreed to come and pick up the items.
Clover knows that theres a ton more he will probably want from upstairs, too, but the pile is just too big right now. And he mentioned he was only a few hours away, so it shouldn’t be too much of a hassle to get everything else to him later.
It’s always so strange when waiting for someone to come over, Clover thinks, as she sits on the stairs. She could clean a little more, but what if she gets engrossed in her work and forgets to listen for the doorbell? She scrolls on her phone instead, making sure to occasionally look outside the window.
The man arrives shortly after, and sure enough, it is the brother from the pictures, except older, in his late twenties if she had to guess instead of a teenager. Clover smiles as she lets him in, and watches as he looks around the entranceway.
“Hello, Clover, right? We talked on the phone.” The man says, and he continues looking around. “Oh, wow. I haven’t been here since, well, I guess you probably know by now, huh?” He says, smiling wryly at Clover.
“Yeah, you would have thought the real estate agency would have mentioned it, but I had already bought the house by the time I found out, and it was cheap, and I had already imagined what I could do with the place. What can you do, you know?” Clover laughs, and then waves the man over to the neat piles she had made. “Uh, here’s the items that belong to you, I’ve tried to keep the ones that seemed important and sentimental, but there were a few that I threw away because time just got the better of them. I hope that is ok.” She says.
The man nods, and starts to rift through the papers, the pictures and memories. “I never thought I would see any of these things again, thank you so much for doing this, I um…” he trails off, staring at a picture of him and his siblings. “I really appreciate it.” He says, sounding emotional.
“Of course. It didn’t seem right to just throw them away. I don’t have anything that can carry it all, I don't think, but let me at least get a bag to make it easier to get to your car.” Clover says, leaving when she sees the man nod absently, lost in the memories he is sifting through. She grabs a trash bag from the laundry room she had been cleaning out, and brings it to the man.
When she comes back, he is crying silently, and Clover freezes. She doesn’t know what to do with a crying stranger, so she sets the trash bag down next to him as subtly as she can and backs away. It doesn’t stop the man from noticing her, though, and he just wipes his eyes. “Sorry, sorry, I just haven’t seen many pictures since it happened, I almost had forgotten what she looked like.”
Clover tenses up, because she has very clearly missed something. She wants to ask, but it is obviously a sore subject. It turns out, she doesn’t have to, as the man continues speaking anyways. “It was such a shock, when it happened, one day, she was there, and the next, she was not, and our parents deemed it too dangerous to stay here, because what if the same thing happened to my youngest sister too? I think it was partially because the memories here were too painful for them. We moved out the next day, barely had any time to get our stuff. I never thought I would see this place again.” The man says.
Clover is reeling. Did the ghost do this? Did the ghost kill someone? They hadn’t killed Clover, though, hadn’t done anything to Clover except mess with her a bit. And yet, here is this man, devastated at the death of his sister.
“I’m sorry that happened to you.” Clover says sympathetically, not knowing what else to say. What else does one say, when a stranger is in your house crying?
The man shrugs in response. “Thank you for saving all of this. It means a lot, remembering the good moments with her instead of only the sad ones. Ah, I should be the one sorry, unloading all of this onto a stranger.” He laughs wetly. “Hey, you haven’t seen a music box around, have you? It was her favorite.” He asks, and Clover tenses again, blinking at him.
“It’s um. If I had to guess, it’s either upstairs or in the spirit world.” Clover says, and the man laughs in response. She doesn’t know how to tell him it isn’t a joke. At least it seems to have distracted him from his grief.
“That’s fine, do you mind if I go look for it really quick? I would probably be able to find where it is, and it would be nice to see the rest of the house again.” The man says, and Clover doesn’t quite think that it’s the best idea to let him near the ghost that killed his sister, but she also doesn’t want to say no when its something that is obviously sentimental to him.
“I um. I don’t think that is the best idea?” She says awkwardly. “But I guess if you really wanted to…” Clover says, gesturing towards the stairs. “Just be careful, I suppose.”
The man tilts his head at her, and then starts to go up. “If I would guess, it is probably in her room, or the room attached to her room. She used to call it her secret hideout, but it was really just a glorified storage room our parents allowed her to make forts in.” The man says, and Clover can only feel dread as he goes toward the ghost room, which was apparently his dead sister’s room. She doesn’t want to interrupt his stories, though, and so he continues on into the room. The door to the storage room is open, and she can see things have been moved around.
“You really should get a heater for this room, it’s always been one of the coldest in the house.” The man says, as he turns and looks around in the dresser in the room. And then Clover sees the ghost. Outside of the room, which she didn’t even know they could do. The man hasn’t noticed them yet, and Clover tries to gesture to the ghost to stop, to go bac. The man is continuing to ramble on about stories from the past.
The ghost doesn’t listen to her. She doesn’t know why she expected them to. They are just standing there, silent, staring at the man, with wide eyes. Clover isn’t an expert in ghost facial expressions, but she can tell that something is wrong. They are looking at the man with the same expression as they looked at the music box.
The man turns around then, presumably to ask Clover something, but he catches sight of the ghost and yells, scrambling backwards, and Clover winces. She remembers when that was her. The man looks terrified, and then confused as he stares at the ghost that is staring back. And then Clover, watches, bewildered, as his expression turns hopeful.
“Icee?” He asks,  and Clover feels a shock go through her at the words. The ghost slowly, slowly nods, and the man reaches out to touch her shoulder. His hand passes right through and he shivers, looking disappointed. He turns to Clover. “This is real, right?”
All Clover can do is nod, and the man looks like he is about to start crying again. She leaves the room. This doesn’t seem to be a moment she should be a part of.
Instead, Clover heads back downstairs, to the pile of pictures. She looks closer at the middle child. Now that she is looking, she doesn’t know how she didn’t pick up on it before. The ghost looks different from the person in the picture, of course, and they look younger in the picture, with skin that wasn’t frostbitten and brown hair instead of silver, but the eyes are the same shape, although the picture shows them as a vibrant purple instead of the the silvery gray Clover remembers of the ghost.
She stays down there while the man converses with his dead sister upstairs, and she doesn’t say anything when he comes back down with red rimmed eyes. She simply helps him pack the rest of the photographs and load it into his car. On the way back from it, he speaks up for the first time since going upstairs. “Uh, if it’s not too much to ask, can I come visit them, sometime?”
Clover blinks in response. “I don’t see why not. I doubt they are going anywhere.” She says, and then pauses. “Um, by the way, what is your name? I forgot to ask it earlier, you were too busy looking through the photographs.”
The man laughs a bit before responding. “You can call me Slushee. And uh, my sister is Icee. Our parents thought it was funny.” He says. Then, he becomes somber once more. “Take care of them, ok?” Clover doesn’t have to ask who he is talking about. She just nods, and waves as he gets in his car and drives off.
Clover goes up the creaky stairs and through the room into the storage area. “So. Icee, is it?”
The breaker is off. Again. And Clover smiles as she goes upstairs, the stairs that she fixed a few weeks ago. They no longer squeak, and the wood shines with the sunlight streaming in the widows, which have new curtains.
She goes into a room that no one stays in, at least no one living, but she has decorated the bed with a new bedsheet and has put pictures on the walls. The frames may be new, but the memories shown are old and well loved, from what she can tell. Her breath freezes in here, and she lets out an involuntary shiver. That was a newer development, as the ghost occupying the house had moved when this one was cleaned up. Not that it is that clean now. Clover can see shoes thrown across the room. It's a way to keep in contact with the living world, from what she can tell, and she isn’t going to make Icee stop even if it means waking in the middle of the night from hearing a thump.
Not that she could stop Icee if she tried.
The music box is in the cabinet, and Clover very pointedly does not touch it. She has learned her mistake on that one, and it is obviously very sentimental to Icee. Clover walks through the room to the storage room, which has also been cleaned up. It has a pillow fort in it, and sometimes Clover will go in there and watch a movie or read a book, just relaxing. Oftentimes she feels a ghostly presence next to her.
A ghostly face pops up before she can get to the breaker arms held up and a terrifying expression on their face as they breath out cold air, and Clover pretends that she didn’t jump as she holds a hand to her heart and laughs. “Icee. Why would you do that.” She says to the ghost, who also laughs before disappearing again.
The breaker is turned on once more, and Clover speaks again to the air around her. “Your dad called. He may come over tomorrow if that is alright with you.” She feels a cold puff of air on her wrist. Once, for yes. “Alright then. It’s settled. Are you up to watch a few episodes of atla?” There is another puff of air, and Clover smiles.
“Alright. Let me just get my laptop.” She says. The air around her turns cold, a sure sign that her friend is here. The experience is definitely not one she would have expected to have, but it is the one she got, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’ve got Rhett brain, I blame @auroralightsthesky but anyways. If your comfy hcs about what it was like for Wifey and Rhett having the twins? Bc even though they’ve already had like 4 kiddos I feel like it’s just absolutely chaos
Yeah I thank @auroralightsthesky is the reason why I half the majority of the thoughts I do, so thanks bestie!
Honestly all of Wifey’s pregnancies were chaotic, first pregnancy the easiest out of all, second time around hardest one to date: bedridden the entire time, third pregnancy was just nausea and headaches, fourth time was the same as the third
So imagine Wifey and Rhetts surprise when they first learned they were adding another Abbott to the family, and nothing had gone wrong, everything as close to the book normal
And let me tell you how absolutely floored they were when they learned everything in the pregnancy was going just fine AND they were having twins?!
It was a normal day, the first light snow of the season has fallen, covering everything in a thin layer of frost
Wifey was just out for a walk, all bundled up while Rhett, Royal, and Perry were out working in the fields, when Hannah asks for some help with the skunks
And who is wifey to say no, bc animal lover like all of her children. So she goes into the barn to help Hannah add blankets to the nest, as she goes to stand she paused and let out a shakey breath
“Ma?” Hannah was immediately at her mother side, but she just cracks a smile and waves it off “I’m fine” and goes to stand again but another shakey breath let’s out before she felt that familiar pop.
“Hey Hannah Banana..” she hummed, trying to sound as calm as possible “I need you to go get Nana”
Hannah listens rushing into the house yelling for Cecilia before the two of them are immediately back out to Wifey who’s already start to feel the connections, having done this whole process four times already she’s pretty in tune with the whole process so her body’s like ready to go.
“Cece, this is happening… like now” she chuckled gripping onto Cece’s shoulder as they wonder back into the house. Cece brings Y/N into the living room before calling Rhett
Boy was that I fun phone call “hey Ma… what….. right- right now? I’m in the middle of the fucking pasture…. Okay…. Yeah” before he drops his tools and runs over to his horse and just takes off leaving Royal and Rhett very confused
Back at the house Cece’s trying to get Y/N into the truck but it’s not going to well “Cece I’ve done this four times.” She groans, leaning over the armrest of the couch “We get in the truck and it’s a half hour drive into town, then another twenty to the hospital” she shook her head “I don’t have that time and these boys are just like their father… no patience”
Rhett makes it to the house in record time and joins Cece in trying to get Y/N into the truck. To which she shakes her head and starts heading up the stairs. Rhett looks between the Stairs and Cece before letting out a groan “Ma do you wanna go help her? I’ll be there in a minute” Cece just nodded and followed Y/N
“Amy!” He called before the girl came in from somewhere in the house “I’m gonna go set up the projector in the barn, okay? I want you to take your cousins out there and watch movies. I don’t care what movies I just need you to keep them all out of the house” he grabbed a few bed sheets and the aforementioned projector and when to the barn being met with Rhett and Perry halfway there
He hands them the sheets and projector “you two, set up a movie theater thing for the kids, Y/N’s in labor. I don’t care what they do, or what they watch just keep them out of the fucking house.”
Wifey man she’s one tough bitch man, because these twins put her through the ringer. We’re talking 15 hour labor(it’s what my mom had to go through with me and my twin 😝) so technically they could have made it to the hospital

@curiousnonny
So let me preface my ratings here by saying that I really think these books are already so well edited in terms of necessary content that making a movie version of any of them is a mistake. Maybe I'm biased and greedy, but I honestly feel like 99% of the scenes in the books play a crucial role in either plot, character, or theme development and removing them waters down the story too much, in my opinion. I would much rather have seen a series version on screen than a movie. Not to mention, Collins made her name as a writer in television, and you can SEE IT in how she writes her novels. It's structured like a TV series so it should've been shot like a TV series. Anyways. So my rankings are gonna be... kinda low for the movies. Sorry not sorry.
But also... my thoughts on this are fresh. My youngest was supposed to read The Hunger Games with his 6th grade class. The teacher sent home a form requesting parents' permission to do so. I signed it gladly and sent it back, but apparently there were a lot of parents who sent it back with complaints instead of approval. Enough that the class read the first Percy Jackson book instead. I'm fine with that too, lol, especially since my kiddo really liked it and is now on book five of that series. I've been trying to reread along with him and will hopefully be catching up to him this week, lol.
After his teacher switched books for the class reading, he and I decided we'd read THG books together once he's done with PJO, but then, my oldest skipped a field trip he really didn't wanna go on and wound up staying at school and watching... The Hunger Games and part of Catching Fire. He came home with QUESTIONS, which immediately sparked a "Hey, not fair!" from the youngest and prompted a movie marathon. We made it through all four movies back in March, and I'm still not forgiven for not warning him about Finnick btw...
Okay enough story time. *cracks knuckles*
The Hunger Games
Ranking: 2/5
Things I don't like: Ugh where to start? The removal of Madge and therefore the significance of Katniss's mockingjay pin as a symbol of wealth and power bestowed by the Capitol only to be flipped on its head and turned into a symbol of rebellion. Also, the implications of removing Madge in terms of how they tried to make Katniss into STRONG BADASS WO-MAN while dulling some of her softer edges and dependencies on other people. See also: leaving out the gift of bread from D11 to Katniss.
The dialogue is shit. Sorry, those are my thoughts. You already had really good dialogue in the book why change that? Also, the gutting of the dialogue results in the gutting of both Katniss and Peeta as characters. The first movie turns them into The Watson character, i.e. the character whose purpose it is to ask questions so that the audience can learn about the setting/plot/other characters/whatever. The first movie made Katniss and Peeta look naive and dumb about the Games and the very world they inhabit, which makes no sense for their characters. I get it. It's a storytelling technique to quicken up the process of world building and make up for the fact that we don't get to be in Katniss's head where she tells us what we need to know about her world. BUT their characters suffer for it. Katniss and Peeta are sixteen. Anyone who has interacted with a teenager knows that at that age, we usually have #OPINIONS on things, so in the books, both already have developing opinions about the Games because they are by necessity and by exposure aware of how the Games and the government essentially work. They've lived in this world long enough. They've started to develop opinions and world views, and they act accordingly. The first movie loses this completely from the books.
Do not get me started on the dialogue in the cave scenes we will be here until the next century if we go there.
Buttercup. Christ how hard is it to cast a yellow/orange cat?!?!?! Not that difficult. And granted, this is a minor detail in terms of symbols but at the same time... it's a minor detail. The fact that they didn't even bother showed a lack of caring about the details. Also see: Rock Peeta.
The stakes of almost everything are lowered, from the bread scene (we don't realize until MJ2 that she's literally starving and knocking on death's door in that scene) to the berry scene (and here it's Peeta knocking on death's door and Katniss is desperate to save him, enough to put POISON BERRIES IN HER MOUTH and risk her own life too)... the movie lacks the desperation for both of those crucial parts.
Peeta's leg Peeta's leg Peeta's motherfreaking amputated leg!!!!!!
Things I liked: The sound and sound editing. It's such a small thing, and I have a story to go with this okay? When I saw it in theaters, I disliked a lot of things, but one of them was something I could not put my fingers on. It bugged me for weeks until the movie came out on DVD (yes, I'm old and also saw it at the veeeeeeery end of its theater run where I live... like it was a $5 special...). Anyways. Mr. Kdnfb is an electrical engineer by education and is suuuuuper picky about our sound system in our house. So when I watched it at home, the Thing clicked in my brain. The SOUND. It had been Waaaaaay Off in a way that was awful in that theater for some reason. And once I watched it at home, there was just something about the way they did the sound that made a lot of what I had hated become less of A Thing to me. The more I've watched it, the more I've realized the sound and sound editing was excellent, and I put this as things I liked because my story goes to show how such a tiny thing can really screw up a movie.
Catching Fire
Ranking: 3.5/5 (Omg I'm gonna get barbecued for this one.)
Things I didn't like: See my caveat at the top. Okay, so. One of my biggest problems is just how much got cut to adapt this one to screen. Sooooo many scenes. Finnick "hanging" himself in training, "someone else can get the stupid goat knocked up," all the hullabaloo about the wedding is talked about but that doesn't happen in the movies, the setup for the existence of D13, the plant book and Peeta caring for an injured Katniss, training like Careers, scaring Peeta with the medicine, Katniss really starting to come around to the idea of a rebellion even before the Quell announcement, "Poor Finnick. Is this the first time you haven't been pretty?" Just so much cut for the sake of time and results in the story feeling rushed and sloppy ugh.
While the cast and crew for this one did a much better job adapting the dialogue to the screen, there are still a few crucial bits of dialogue that make me itch with hives. The post jabberjay scene and the death of the morphling mainly. Good lord. You finally let movie!Peeta be as eloquent and convincing as book!Peeta in D11, why not give him the space to do it in the arena, too?
Things I do like: The casting. Hear me out. After the first movie, I was still not entirely sold on Jennifer, Josh, and Liam for the roles they were playing. Really, the only main characters who live through the first movie that I was happy and 100% on board with with were Donald Sutherland, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, and Stanley Tucci. Catching Fire is where I accepted Josh's portrayal of Peeta a little bit more, mainly because of the process of film making and what they put forth with CF showed me that he could nail the part if only they'd give him the dialogue and choose the cuts that best showed what he could do. I have no idea what sort of dialogue they were given or how much free reign they were allowed to improvise, but I do know that they will shoot a scene multiple times with multiple different delivery styles and slightly different dialogue. Which means that the actors really don't get a say on which version of their performance makes the final cut. But when the dialogue was spot on in the final version, I felt like Josh pulled off Peeta very well. I also think the way they shot CF allowed Jennifer Lawrence to put forth a better overall performance as well, although I'm still not in love with her as Katniss.
But really it's the Quell Victors/Tributes that I loved about CF. I went in unsure and came out convinced. My caveat here is that I tend to think of the movies as their own thing. The movie versions of the characters are their own iteration and I try really hard not to let them bleed into how I see or think of the characters in the books. That doesn't always happen, but I do try.
Okay this one is kinda not the fault of the first movie, but the increased budget for CF is apparent in several of the things that I liked, namely the costumes, the staging, the special effects. Much better all around.
Mockingjay Part 1
Ranking: 3/5
Things I did not like: Gale. MJ1 finishes off the complete removal of any depth Gale had as a character, a process that started with him rage rushing Head Peacekeeper Thread in CF and culminates here with him condemning Peete's words as a TORTURED PRISONER OF WAR rather than him not only intuiting what's probably happening, but explaining it to Katniss, then trying to protect Katniss from it, like he does in the books. The reason why book!Gale is so much more compelling to me than movie!Gale is because Gale's anger and fire and indignation has REASONING behind it in the book. It is chillingly easy to see the lines his reasoning could possibly take. As in... I've worked in weapons development and I have worked with real people who think like book!Gale or Beetee. Whereas movie!Gale is basically just RAWR!!! fury.
The rescue scene. I could write an entire essay on what's wrong with this, but it all boils down to they tried to shorten it by overlapping the video of the rescue with Finnick talking. Which makes zero military sense btw why the freak would you broadcast helmet video of your team going in on a stealth mission and risk someone intercepting it or noting the presence of an encrypted signal and figuring out what was going on holy hell you would NOT. You'd be freaking SILENT and just waiting to find out!!!!!!! And yes yes, but we need to see it. Okay, but you've already shown scenes with Snow and Seneca talking, Seneca and Haymitch talking, Snow and Plutarch talking, Snow and his granddaughter!!!! cuts from D11 and so much more that Katniss would not have seen, so play this like that. You can still show the audience but clearly keep Katniss and everyone back in D13 in the dark. The way it's shot is nonsensical and also pretty much waters down the horror of what Finnick went through and the impact of his words.
And while we're on this topic, they somehow used that overlapping and ridiculous video feed to try and shorten the scene, but wound up making it interminably and unbelievably long with the layers upon layers upon LAYERS of rooms the rescue squad has to go through and also the Skype Call of Inanity. The whole debacle is so freaking long that I no longer feel tense by the time it's finally over. It's so obvious that the Capitol is letting them take back Peeta, Annie, and Johanna because of how long a stealth mission (which should be almost too fast to process) takes that it becomes stupid for D13 to not suspect something. There's no desperation or high stakes for me with this scene because it's too long and too messy, makes no sense tactically and basically just erases all the emotional depth and pacing of what's in the books ugh. Seriously. You could've spent that time on the torture of the prep team or some of the Boggs and Katniss or Katniss and Finnick content we miss out on. Delly. Gale's siblings. Literally anything that you cut out. Rant over.
"He's gonna kill Peeta".... um no actually it's that Snow won't kill Peeta but keep dangling him in front of you, Katniss...
Things I did like: The sets. District 13 is... perfect. Sterile and drab and utilitarian. Zero luxury or any real sense that humans live there. There are zero personal touches in any of the spaces. No connections to art or joy or life.
Effie. I really wish we'd still gotten the prep team in D13, because it's an avenue through which we see how brutal and lacking in compassion D13 really is, but if it's Effie there with her for the movies, then Elizabeth Banks did a stellar job with what she was given to do. I do wish they'd allowed Finnick to keep his line: "They'll either want to kiss you, kill you, or be you." And if not that, then don't freaking cut the "Why, do you find this distracting?" scene. But overall, Effie in D13 works for me in terms of the movie universe.
Mockingjay Part 2
Ranking: 2.5/5
Things I didn't like: Facepalm worthy wigs and dye jobs. Dude. You are the final chapter of a big budget blockbuster franchise. I understand that the dye jobs have taken their toll and wigs may be just more practical for the actors at this stage, but DO BETTER with the money you have.
Just how much of Johanna they cut out of this part and what that does to Katniss's development.
The ending. It's so lackluster in so many ways. One of the things that I loved about the theme of the ending is how it shows that with the right kind of care, a life can be lived and be worthwhile even after the worst kinds of trauma. We get this through the sheer beauty of Katniss's final words in both the final chapter and the epilogue. To me, the movie ending felt just... blah. And I get that maybe they were aiming for a sense of calm and peace, but instead it came off as blah, we're broken and just going through the motions. Which makes sense right after the war ends, but not as the ending continues into the "Real" scene or the epilogue.
Mahershala Ali is highly underutilized in this movie. Let the man play the freaking part. He's already good with what you let him do. Let him unleash the acting chops and make Boggs sing as a character. And part of this has to do with what they cut from the film, like him carrying Katniss to the hovercraft in D8 and her vomiting on him. Same with Julianne Moore. Coin was not nearly cold or controlling enough nor did she convincingly clash with Katniss enough leading up to Peeta showing up in the Capitol.
The omission of the heartbreaking silence Katniss puts herself into and how they turned the sadness of the final breaking of her friendship with Gale into "Goodbye Gale." Ugh. I laugh at it, but it's not a good change. Like we can't allow a Strong Wo-Man Character to be sad or hurt about this, why not????
Burn. Scars. Burn. Scars. Burn. Scars. BURN! SCAAAAARRRRRRRSSSSSS!!!!!
Things I did like: The music. Odd pick I know, but even though the ending is not well done for me, I almost always start bawling the second Katniss starts singing the meadow lullaby as the credits roll. And that's just one weird instance of me liking the music for this film.
How they brought the hijacking to life. I can't even explain why this works so well, but it does. My only wish is that they'd given more time for the Real/Not Real game to develop on film and included more of Peeta's dialogue that shows both the struggle and him regaining parts of himself -- the cafeteria scene, his words to Pollux and Tigris for example.
And there you have it, @curiousnonny. My super long answer to your question. ;)

PLEASE i wanna know all your hcs about the largo siblings and their moms
YAYY OKAY LOTS OF STUFF UNDER THE CUT <3
so basically I've just made a bunch of shit up bc we don't get a lot in the movie and I like to have fun and be myself. none of it is based off like the weird semi-canon myspace stuff I've heard abt?? if there are similarities they are pure coincidence bc I'm not reading all that god bless.
so for the moms they unfortunately still don't have names so I'm just gonna call them by their colours love and light. I've talked abt them before here but the short version of the story is they, along with marni and mag, were in an opera troupe and caught rotti's interest. they sort of just formed a social circle which nathan was also part of bc like idk college besties or something idk. rotti married red and had luigi, after which red was like you know what I'm kinda craving some nathan and left him. during one of her visits luigi killed her not like with ill intent or whatever bc he was like 5 but still he did fully murder her. rotti, not knowing a warning when he saw one, married blue and they had amber, and then blue was like you know what red was absolutely right I also want some nathan in my life and also left rotti. blue was the least well off of the opera troupe, though, and had some unpaid geneco bill lying around so she got repoed. rotti was still determined to have an opera wife so he married ourple and they had pavi and once again one of rotti's wives left him for nathan at which point he was like you know what if this ever fucking happens again that is IT I am DONE. also ourple died badly from a parasite bc me and my friend had just watched venom when we came up with this. at this point rotti married marni and we all know the rest
AS FOR THE KIDS I think luigi would basically always have been pretty unstable so he wouldn't have been put in the spotlight as much as a kid. also if you've seen a lot of my repo art you might have noticed I draw him with this big scar over his forehead which is bc in my brainverse at some point rotti would have had him undergo some sort of brain surgery in an attempt to calm him down a bit tho I can't imagine it worked at all. also think that basically from that point rotti was basically set on at the very least not letting luigi inherit and probably a bit doubtful of his other kids already
I picture amber and pavi being closer in age and like somewhat closer at least for the first few years of their lives. also I feel so strongly that rotti would have given them like ALL the spotlight just to balance off how little the public would have gotten to see of luigi, so I always picture them as basically child stars. when the novelty of being talented kids started wearing off and the public got a little less interested in them I think amber took it the hardest which is why she's so insistent on returning to the opera when mag quits
also with the kids I wanna stress I don't imagine any of this in my head to make them more sympathetic I think in the present they are all horrid bitches and deserve the guillotine but I am also a fan of succession so I was kind of primed to make up a lot of rich person lore sorry :(

the 4.2 archon quest was so good, i loved it, the story unfolded so beautifully, the characters were created with so much love, it's left me feeling so wistful and even a bit melancholy, i know it's going to haunt me for a couple days but overall i really loved the direction they went with this, what an amazing end to this story ♡
(spoilers under the cut)
Tumblr media
I've defended furina ever since 4.0 against that whole 'neuvi is the real archon' crowd (who were SO annoying btw even after it was revealed he is the hydro sovereign) and my adoration of her has NEVER wavered because she is just a girl ! and she's doing her best ! && her character is BEAUTIFUL because she's just a girl, a human ! who has single handedly carried this burden (which wasn't even hers to begin with btw) alone for 500 years—putting on a mask everyday just to play the part of the archon, suffering in silence... & on the other hand, focalors, her divine counterpart, too worked tirelessly for the sake of justice, so she could sacrifice herself to fool the heavenly principles, and return neuvillette's authority
This whole arc had me in tears because it's so, "give me back my girlhood, it was mine first." I'm honestly so happy how it ended with furina leaving to live her own life, as she should ! she's free ! after working so hard for so long... like she did not waver once, not even when presented the chance, not even to the traveler in her own head. (& i loved this btw because i feel like all the other aqs we've kind of been 'the exception' with the archons) (also looking back, the whole plan to trap her and put her on trial was pretty cruel, though i dn't blame anyone cus no one knew at the time) but i was so so happy to read the other archons' new voicelines about furina, because even they recognized her dedication and perseverance and strength
&& a shoutout to navia who is so beautiful and strong and she's lost her father and now silver + melus... their love and devotion to her literally had me in tears within the first like 5 minutes of the aq. Like the two oceanids protecting her !!!! they were already in the collective consciousness but were still defending her literally til the end, literally in death. rare npcs that i care abt 'n cried for + i really thought they were gonna come back at the end but they didn't like they actually DIED ?? idk me personally i think mayb furina's second story quest will bring the dissolved ppl back mayb idk but i'm manifesting, ik we're def not done with fontaine yet so give navia her family back !
&& also i loved that for once, we are not against the fatui. for a while now i've been under the impression that the fatui might not be as bad as we're made to think they are at first, cus obviously everything is not black and white. im normally pretty whatevs abt childe but he's so silly for fighting the whale for like a month & then unintentionally saving the day whilst dissing neuvi with that thumbs down at the same time HAHAHA
ok i think that's it for now, i just really loved this archon quest. sumeru and fontaine really set the bar so high and i hope hoyo keeps this standard when we go to natlan as well. the overall story just keeps getting more 'n more interesting as we go and i'm honestly so excited cus we're learning sm yet there's also still so much we don't know ahhhhhhh !!!

Rushing things: Chapter one
(since the vast majority of you voted for it, here's the first + second episodes of my smut/domestic fluff papyton fanfic! the rest of it is on Ao3 if you wanna read ahead ^^)
The 3-part movie saga
A year... It has already been a year since Frisk freed the monsters from the underground.
It has been a year that Frisk has been going left and right (with the help of their friends), signing papers and going to meetings, so that a peace treaty could be put in place.
so that monsters could live with humans in harmony.
Of course, there's still some jackasses around that doesn't like the fact that times are changing, but a surprising amount of humans accepted monsters as their own.
Toriel and Undyne became teachers at the local elementary school, Toriel teaching science and Undyne being the PE coach. Meanwhile Grillby, Muffet, Temmie, and all the other merchants set up shop around the city, being more or less successful. Asgore and Alphys had time to reconnect and hang out. Sans, well, didn't changed much, still getting caught slacking all the time, but at least he's supposed to have a job at Grillby's. And Frisk, despite being the ambassador of monsters, still went to school, and was generally a normal kid.
So, here we are, in a warm beach city, in the middle of March, and a trying-to-be-silent hype was rumbling throughout the city: a three-part movie saga featuring loved human actors and the newest star from the underground, Mettaton, was rumoured to come out in a few weeks. Humans never heard of this man, but according to the few dozen monsters that had seen his movies, he was really good at it. And Papyrus, being his number 1 fan was stoked, having already pre-ordered tickets to all three movies and waiting impatiently for the release.
Well, the actor, meanwhile... WAS SHAKING IN HIS HIGH HEEL BOOTS. OMG, BEING A HUMAN STAR IS SO MUCH MORE STRESSFUL THAN HE HAD THOUGHT! Of course, he still had fun, y'know? He got to travel to wonderful places and meet renowned actors, but it wasn't done in an instant. He thought he was so shiny, but human stars shone 100 times as bright, so he had to fight for his career. And Well... it did pay off, with the whole 3-part saga and all that, but.... The part he was given was humiliating, the plot was based on an overused trope, and in the long run, said plot didn't even make sense anymore. And the "main character" was an asshole, who you were supposed to simply forgive because "TrAgIc BaCkStOrY". In the very few scenes where Mettaton actually showed up, it simply was the worst: because, of course, it happened in a fuCKING STRIP CLUB. THAT'S RIGHT, METTATON'S PART WAS BEING A ✨ROBOT STRIPPER✨ GREAT. AWESOME. AMAZING METTATON'S FIRST BIG ROLE IN A HUMAN MOVIE AND HE ALREADY RUINED HIS WHOLE IMAGE. So, here he was, watching the final cuts of the filming with the other actors before it was sent out to the editor, and he was on the verge of tears. THIS is how humans are gonna remember him: as the actor who played that stupid blocky robot exotic dancer that turns against the MC and gets killed off like nothing just to show how strong the MC was. At least, the good part of all this is that Napstablook worked on the soundtrack, and they fully agree with Mettaton: This whole saga is a trash heap.
He only stayed for filming for a few weeks but it felt like it was years since he last saw Alphys, so, as soon as he wasn't needed anymore, he immediately took the first train back to that little beach city on the western coast, to see his friend.
When Mettaton showed up to her door, Alphys nearly choked on her soda and apologised profusely for not wearing anything other that a loose t-shirt and pink boxers. When MTT came inside the apartment, she was now apologising for the mess, but he didn't mind in the slightest: after spending so much time cooped up in a 5 stars hotel on the other side of the country, Alphys and Undyne's place was a very welcome mess, and he knows she'll never judge him for unwinding.
So he did just that: he took off his heels and made himself comfy on the large couch in the main room. Seeing the robot sigh dramatically as he spread himself on the sofa, Alphys asked: 《- R-rough filming session, buddy? - It's not that, Alphys darling, it's just that I might as well quit the movie-making business right now after THAT FIASCO! - H-HUH? W-what happened?? - Oh I don't wanna bore you with it... (please insist on hearing it Alphy.) - *sigh* Mettaton, can you please tell me what happen- - IT WAS HORRIBLE, HONEY, HORRIBLE ! THAT MOVIE IS GARBAGE, AND I'M NOT EVEN ON THE COVER ART OR EVEN THE TRAILER ! yelled Mettaton while wildly shaking Alphys. - WhOoAAAH METTA CALM DOWN !! Pleaded the reptile as she felt the motion sickness kicking in. I'm sure it's not THAT bad!!》 All it needed was Mettaton showing her the early release version of the first movie (that the producer oh-so-kindly gifted him with a weird flirty wink) for Alphys to look at MTT with pity in her eyes. 《- damn. It IS that bad. - I KNOOOOW!!! He cried out, while dark oily tears were streaming down his midi-pad-shaped face. - I'm s-sorry man, i-i can't do anything about that, I don't have the power to just, delete a movie from existence (because if I did, I already would've done it the moment the main character stole that precious locket without feeling any kind of remorse, and not giving it back, and not having any kind of redemption for it.) - I know. Said Mettaton between two sobs. My career in the human has barely took off, and it's already going down in flames... - Metta, said Alphys, picking her words carefully, that movie may be absolute trash but not only is it your very first movie on the surface but just because you had one bad performance d-doesn't mean you're not gonna have more chances later.》 And she got up to fetch tissues for him.
While she was gone, Mettaton reflected on those words, but they didn't sooth his worries, because he KNOWS he will be disappointing his long-term fans AND painting a very ugly image of monsters for all humans to see.
Half an hour later, the floor was already littered in crumpled oily tissues as MTT was venting to Alphys. Seeing him like this, made Alphys think about the ghost inside the robot. A dissatisfied little ghost who's biggest dream was to be a star. "No, it WILL NOT end like that, Alphys thought to herself, I'll tell that producer to cancel that movie!.. or w-well ask someone to do it... it's so crazy it might just work!.. or it's just straight up crazy and it will end in a disaster- NO stop thinking like that Alphys!" 《-Metta! - hmm?! Yes? Asked MTT slightly startled by the sudden raise of volume. - I'll get that movie cancelled!! I-if you want it to be... - Alphys, darling, I appreciate the gesture but there's no way in hell that you have enough influence to pull this off. - Well, I'll try anyway! M-maybe if I show how bad this movie is to our friends, they would back us up! She added, trying her best to sound confident. - mmm... perhaps... Replied the robot. But I'm still sceptical about this plan, honey. - D-don't worry! I know exactly who to text! Your number 1 fan!》 And Alphys bolted to her room to get her phone.
"Huh, my number 1 fan? MTT said in the back of his mind. And Alphys knows them close enough to have their number? Who could that possibly be??" When Alphys came back, her phone texting app was open to a chat titled "Papyrus"
Papyrus... The name alone didn't mean anything to Mettaton. However, when he saw the profile picture of the person Alphys was texting ("pretty awkwardly and overly apologetic" he thought) it finally clicked: That wacky skeleton he saw a year prior, just before they exited the underground... He was his biggest fan..? Seriously?
《- Hey, Alphys dear, how do you know this guy? - O-oh, he's Undyne best friend. He sometimes comes here. They both like to "cook" together. And by "cook" I mean that they like to destroy ingredients with their fists and almost burn down the apartment complex. - Sounds like my kind of cooking~♡ - why do you think you've never been in the same room as them-
A-anyways, he's still a pretty cool dude, he has a heart of gold under all his goofiness... I actually think you two could be friends. - Yeah yeah yeah right, gimme that phone Alphys, you're taking ages. Stated Mettaton impatiently as he snatched the cute pink phone from her chubby clawed hands.》
Stood fully upright with his new legs, Mettaton was a good few feet taller than Alphys and he fully used that to keep the phone out of her reach as he texted Papyrus himself:
Mettaton here, hello darling, I have a problem with the upcoming movie saga, would you like to help me?
ALPHYS ARE PRANKING ME? =_=
...Well, it's true that in a situation like that, where you're chatting with your friend and all of a second, your favourite celebrity texts you via the same chat, it's understandable to think they're messing with you, but Mettaton was too impatient to care, and instead went into face-time.
Papyrus's reaction to seeing him face to face surely was something: He was whisper-screaming as quiet as he could while wildly shaking and waving the hand he wasn't using to hold his phone. His excitement was barely contained, and, honestly, that was the cutest reaction Mettaton had ever seen.
As soon as Papyrus managed to calm down a bit, the robot started to explain the situation to him. The skeleton was eagerly listening to Mettaton, until his face fell when MTT told him how awful the upcoming saga was. 《- WAIT, IS IT REALLY THAT BAD? - Yes, darling, so if I were you, I'd ask for a refund on my ticket preorder. - BUT I WANTED TO SEE HOW GREAT YOUR NEXT MOVIE WAS GONNA BE... said Papyrus sadly. For some reason, seeing this man sad was unbearable for MTT, so he quickly added - W-well how about, you get a refund, and I'll simply come to see you in person to cheer you up? His face instantly lit up again at the suggestion. -REALLY?? Papyrus said, his voice rising a few octaves. Y-YOU'D DO THAT? FOR ME?? - Of course, honey, I'm very generous! (Meanwhile in his mind, Mettaton was screaming and melting over this cutie before him.) - OK, SO IS TOMORROW AROUND 11:00 AM ALRIGHT? I HAVE TO DROP OFF FRISK TO SCHOOL AT 8:30, BUT AFTER THAT I'M COMPLETELY FREE! AND IF YOU WANT YOU COULD ALSO STICK AROUND FOR LUNCH! Suggested Papyrus without catching his breath. - Oh uhhh... T-that sounds perfect! And, since I don't have anything else to do, I'll gladly stay for lunch! - GREAT! I'LL BE EXPECTING YOU AT 11:00! OH BOY I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU IN PERSON! SEE YOU, METTATON! - oh, see you too darling!》 And he hung up.
Chapter two:
The first hangout.
Whu- What just happened?
They called Mettaton's biggest fan to tell him to back him up to get the movie saga cancelled... and then... he managed to plan to hang out with a guy he met only once..?
Mettaton had completely forgotten about the plan when talking to Papyrus, and only remembered it when Alphys pointed it out.
Welp, at least they could ask other fans and friends to help them get the movies cancelled, and that's what they did: the two friends spent the rest of the evening calling and texting friends and family to tell them about the issue. Of course it still wasn't nearly enough, and Mettaton was aware of that, but... he had trouble focusing on the task at hand when he had that meeting with that skeleton tomorrow. And then, tomorrow came.
Mettaton woke up to the official poster of the saga literally EVERYWHERE: on billboards, as paper posters glued on the street, as side ads on every websites he checked... it was a nightmare. But thankfully his friends responded to the texts saying that will be backing him up 100%! What a relief- wait.
What time is it? 10:47 AM, motherfucker~ <3 F u c k
Mettaton ran to his wardrobe to take the outfit he prepared, flipped his switch in a hurry and dressed up as quickly as he could (while also trying to not wrinkle the pretty red suit he picked)
Mmm... should he take the prerelease movie CD with him?... Probably... since he still needs to get Papyrus on board with the plan, and showing just how God awful this movie is would be a great way to convince him (in theory).
As soon as he was fully dressed, MTT took the CD case and ran to his car, when it hit him that he didn't know where Papyrus lived, so he had to call Alphys to ask her, which took longer than he wanted because Alphys refused to pick up, so he had to TEXT her, which got an answer much quicker but now Mettaton only had 6 minutes to get there on time. (When I tell you that MTT's car FLEW over the highway-)
At least he wasn't TOO late, only a few minutes but he still got there around the time he was asked to come. After parking his car not too far from the building Papyrus lived in, Mettaton walked toward the front door before noticing that the skeleton was standing there, waiting. When their eyes met, Papyrus's whole face lit up and he ran up to Mettaton.
Before he knew it, the robot was tackled in a tight hug, so earnest and warm, as if they've known each other since childhood, then Papyrus pulled back his head and looked up at Mettaton with his eyes sparkling with excitement, before letting go. That passionate welcome was unexpected (and it wrinkled Mettaton's suit a bit) but he didn't mind, it made his cheeks and chest feel so warm... Why was he here again?.. Oh right, the plan! The plan to ask the director to cancel the movie! MTT was about to bring it up, when Papyrus spoke up: 《- SO, METTATON, DO YOU WANNA COME IN? - Oh yes, we should probably get inside to... do whatever to pass the time I guess... - WELL I PREPARED A LITTLE SOMETHING, I HOPE YOU'LL LIKE IT!》
Papyrus and Sans's apartment was pretty humble, but it had a certain coziness to it, and, unlike Undyne and Alphys's, it was tidy. As soon as they entered, Papyrus dashed to his room, telling Mettaton to make himself at home. So he sat down on the couch and waited for the homeowner to come back, while using that time to fix his suit.
But when Papyrus came back, that nice red suit was clearly overkill, as he was in a comfy bunny onesie, carrying a few fluffy blankets and pillows over his shoulder, and holding dvd cases in his free hand.
....a sleepover??...
This man had the unique opportunity to spend time with his favourite celebrity... and he planed a SLEEPOVER??? IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY??
...Mettaton had to admit to himself that it was a pretty ballsy move, and Papyrus was clearly fully confident doing it, so he had to appreciate his boldness.
Anyway, Papyrus was setting down the blankets and pillows on the couch (that he deployed in bed mode) while his guest was watching, feeling overdressed for this whole charade. However, the skeleton did not appear to mind in the slightest that Mettaton was dressed so formal for such a casual occasion, instead he asked him to choose what movie he wanted to watch while he went in the kitchen to grab some snacks.
The movie selection was... original: "Peekaboo with a fluffy bunny: the movie", "little kitty discovers the world", "Dr funkenstein", "the upside-down river"... Yup, all of these were children's movies.
In the end, Mettaton chose the last one, as it seemed to be the least childish, and as Papyrus came back with multiple bags of chips and a bottle of unnaturally purple soda, he confessed that "THAT MOVIE ALWAYS MAKES ME CRY..."
Curtains were drawn and blinds were closed, the skeleton made himself comfy on the couch, and finally pressed "play" on the remote. Actually, that movie was much more enticing than MTT had first thought, and soon enough, he understood why it made Papyrus cry every time, as he was tearing up himself. During a particularly heartbreaking scene, Mettaton swore he felt the skeleton, who was also crying heavily, getting closer to him and resting his head on his shoulder.
"Oh. Oh my..." He thought, as he felt the heat rising to his cheeks and his mechanical heart pounding in his chest.
At first, Mettaton was unsure about it, but right at that moment, it was... nice. Watching this bittersweet children's movie, gorging on chips and soda, while laying on a comfy couch filled with pillows and blankets... and with such good company too... And the end of the movie came, and the curtains and blinds were opened once more, letting the blinding midday light in. (Now that they could see eachothers faces, both of them had puffy, red eyes and humid cheeks from crying so much.)
Well it was now 13:30, guess Mettaton did stay until lunch.
《- HEY METTATON, DO YOU WANT TO HELP ME COOK? Asked Papyrus while cleaning up the chips packets. - Gladly! Answered the robot, chipper.》
After Papyrus went in his room to change back to his main outfit, the two started cooking spaghetti, the skeleton's self-proclaimed specialty, however it quickly dawned on MTT that he wasn't... that great of a chef. Lots of rookie mistakes that made him cringe inside. Every time the host made a mistake, Mettaton tried his best to gently tell him he was messing up, to Papyrus's surprise.
After an hour of trial and error (and wasted spaghetti, r.i.p) they managed to make the best spaghetti both of them ever made, and, much to Mettaton's shock, the only spaghetti that Papyrus ACTUALLY ATE IN HIS LIFE.
Afterwards, Mettaton realised he stayed for over 3 hours, and didn't even bring up the plan, so, he mentioned it -more awkwardly than he would've wanted- and added that he brought the first movie of the saga.
《- WOWIE,BUT I THOUGHT YOU DIDN'T WANT ME TO WATCH IT? - W-well it is trash. But would you like to see just HOW TRASH that movie is? Asked Mettaton with a tone of challenge. - ...I'LL GO GET MY ONESIE. responded Papyrus with determined smirk.》
Back on the couch, back his bunny onesie, and this time, Mettaton also being in a onesie (a grey tabby cat one that Papyrus lended him), they started the film... and the skeleton immediately fell asleep once it was clear that Mettaton wouldn't appear in the rest of the movie, and, of course, he fell asleep on the robot himself, who's body temp rose like Jesus on the third day.
It was hard focusing on the movie when this lovable dork was snoozing so cutely in the crook of his armpit.
But Mettaton came to a realisation while watching this movie for the god-knows-what time: Maybe Alphys was right, this movie is pretty bad, and the other two are no better, but they are just that... bad, boring movies. Maybe Mettaton was overreacting...
He looked at his phone, and at all his friends, family and fans who are willing to back him up... And at the trailer ads for the saga on his socials...
Maybe he should just let this movie come out and let people see how bad it is... And before he knew it, he fell asleep as well, holding Papyrus close...
(what even is pacing lmao)
anyway, tell me if you want to see more, or simply if you liked it! seeing nice little things being said about my creations always makes me happy ^^
