i promised to post some thoughts from both of the concert days at kulttuuritalo so i'm gonna be putting them under a read more :)

saturday 2.3.

i arrived at the venue some time before 9 am

i feel like i always say this but the people that i hang out with at concerts and while queueing are always super nice. i got to know new people, meet mutuals and hang out with so many people i'd gotten to know at previous gigs i'd been to

just remembered that i think i forgot to thank @king-krisu for letting me tag along to their apartment to warm up my pizza that tasted like cardboard so i'm doing it now, kiitos!

buying hand and foot warmers for the queueing was the best purchase ever

when we were let inside, the staff was apparently not informed on where the cloakroom was actually open and if people who were over 18 but didn't have the ticket could go to the +18 side and everything was just a mess and ppl were running around and didn't know where to go

i did get front row on kris' side and it was actually my first time there, i'd always been on jan and nace's side before that

i've listened to pilvet pilvet for a while now and i was so happy to actually see them live, couldn't ask for a better opener

jc stewart was also very good! i'd never heard of him or his songs before but i tried to learn some of them before the gig lol

i feel like we've all seen so much from the soundcheck and gigs from videos and photos that i don't really have that much to add

when kiki came to put the setlist right in front of us we were like no it can't be this short they're definitely gonna play more songs. and they didn't 🥲

it was so nice to see them all actually move around a lot more now that they could

kris kicked straight towards me multiple times during the show and i kept thinking what have i done to deserve this

i completely fell in love with šta bih ja and bluza was so good too!!!

as the first gig on tour i kinda felt like they were still warming up after not performing for a while but still it was so good and i loved this concert so much

after the concert i went out with some friends i first met at the gig in tampere on the nordic tour :)

sunday 3.3.

i was supposed to go hang out in the queue for the day but i slept so bad and i was honestly in a bad mood because of that so i just stayed in bed for the whole day until it was time to leave to the venue with my friend and we were there just before the doors opened

i already posted my friend's thoughts from the show as a non-fan and you can find it here

i have a lot of thoughts that i wrote down on monday about going to a concert as a fan with a non-fan vs. alone but i'm not gonna be yapping about it in this post

i was kinda far back and i'm short so i didn't really see that well and i made the mistake of wearing a hoodie instead of what i was planning to wear so it was also extremely hot

this setlist was more to my taste with barve oceana and padam

the new song took me straight on a cruise ship to sweden

when they announced ruisrock the response of the audience was so loud!

i had a fan with me and i was fanning myself during vse kar vem and i just saw bojan looking at me kinda worried but when he saw me singing along he smiled and i almost started crying

i feel like they were more relaxed during this concert and that's understandable with the first concert being more of a rehearsal as the first concert of the whole tour

when we got out literally everyone was freaking out about everything that happened and saying how much better it was than yesterday

i was so tired and felt kinda sick that we just went to get some food after sitting down for a while and then i went back to my hotel room and that was it

overall i had a such a fun weekend! thanks to everyone who i spent time with <3 would've loved to talk to even more of you guys! next up is london and of course ruisrock in the summer :)

Oh Ortho would love to visit, but he doesn’t usually get to go with the Octavinelle trio and stays by Idia’s side; and Idia probably hates the idea of visiting Scalding Sands, because it’s way too hot, and Kalim and Jamil are there, and Kalim is annoying and Jamil is scary, and the whole thing is going to be awkward, what is this really, a college reuinon? Yada-yada, mumbling Idia noises.

But still, they’ll visit them at least once. Even if Azul isn’t persuasive enough, Ortho’s puppy eyes are going to break Idia’s will for sure.

Anon THIS! I COMPLETELY AGREE lol Especially with Rollo and Malleus; I don’t know if Rollo expected anything from Malleus (he was being a tsundere, that’s for sure), but Malleus clearly read the room in… his own way…

We like to joke that this happens because Malleus learned the art of flirting from Lilia.

Now I can’t stop imagining Malleus’ confused blinks when he learns about the dom/sub positioning of some of the couples.

Anon, he fits the role of an Ace Attorney Prosecutor PERFECTLY, and he would be SUCH AN ANNOYING BITCH TO PLAY AGAISNT LOL We love Ace Attorney very much, so we also joke about Riddle being a prosecutor from time to time. I have at least one sketch related to this topic but we posted it on ko-fi.

Our go-to is usually to give Ace the Attorney role, not only because of his name, but also because him being confrontational with Riddle is always a fun thing to imagine.

Imagine Riddle’s angry sprites as a prosecutor… he’s even worse than some of the Von Karmas… at least he doesn’t use a whip I guess lol

They’re intriguing! It’s always interesting when someone who isn’t Malleus gets Sebek’s kind-of-sort-of-approval (a very important achievement I know), and Jamil somehow managed to do it. Maybe it’s because he managed to sit through Sebek’s hours-long rant about Malleus’ grateness in that one vignette, but it honestly shows just how interestingly their personalities play based off each other. Jamil is constantly done with everyone’s bs, but he’s unfrotunately tolerant enough to take a passive role and listen. But he is also enough of a tease to enjoy Sebek’s “cute” and silly moments, like when he watched him almost fight a goat during the Glorious Masquerade event. So I feel like to him Sebek would be a massive pain in the ass (and let’s be honest, with Jamil – who isn’t?), but also have his surprisingly endearing moments.

But this is based on their interactions in the Glorious Masquerade event + that one vignette in which Jamil promised to listen to Sebek’s odes for Malleus lol

The thought has never occurred to me because to be honest, just like Silver, I never question anything that Lilia does lol

But I can picture some people from the NRC being confused about Lilia and Malleus’ relationship, because they’re definitely closer than just being friends… so while I’m not sure if they would think about them as a married couple(or who should get married), some people definitely think they’re banging lol

And Silver is very chill about it… if only these people knew the whole truth about Lilia’s relationship with both Silver and Malleus… marriage is the last thing that would come to their mind lol

Daily Dragon #88 - Velocidunce

These dumb dinos are known for their obnoxious laugh you can hear while they're hunting. Because of this seemingly uncontrollable laughter, a lot of smaller prey animals are startled and run away when Velocidunce tries to hunt them

A lot of fanart the last couple days so I figured I should make something new again! Originally this was gonna be a wise dragon but I decided to change the design completely and made it an idiot instead :) anyway, I think I need more non-reptile dragons. Maybe tomorrow!

Daily Dragon #90 - Molluscreep

This might seem just like a clam... And, it is. But it's also a powerful dragon! They store massive amounts of energy in their mouths to blast out, which can sometimes form beautiful crystals in their mouth! The mouth muscle is a famous delicacy!

I really wanted to do a non reptilian dragon today, and for some reason a clam is what kept coming to mind! I think it's pretty neat looking!

Ok so for context yesterday I refound this post :

And I was like "hey guys in my happy AU Gehrman could totally get or make something like this for Maria!" And then it spiralled into "oh I completely forgot to explain my bloodborne "happy ending AU" so there it is finally I guess. I think I only share to a couple of persons so far XD (I have a few others many different AU and darker but it isn't for today).

I already did a few drawings in link with it : here, here, here and there. Yeah with the gehrmaria ship involve so pass your way if that isn't your thing.

I did end up making the cottage house of the AU in Minecraft since a few months ago by the way XD I even have a tanner, hunter and a freaking cleric villager who now took possession of the house 😂😭 even Laurence decided to live here now I can't. I would need to redo it I kinda screw up proportions I think. Sadly Minecraft bedrock doesn't offer to put many details. I guess it would be better in the sims? If someone knows a good game to built house (and 19th century one) I'm taking it!

So now about the AU it's kinda an AU of my fic verse who can be consider like an AU as well I suppose (even if I tried to stay as canon complaint as possible in this one). Like you can guess from the name Yharnam doesn't became hell on earth and most people don't end up dying horribly. I will copy paste below the summary so you I can explain it better.

Bloodborne happy/good ending AU Summary :

Basically after bloodborne game event (in my fic verse interpretation) our dear baby squid good hunter decided it was rewind time and give everyone a 2nd chance. Don't ask me how

Then it's not clear but either the souls of everyone were taken and yet back in their old self, decades earlier of if people from the past dreamed of the future or a weird mixt of both. But it's what happened. Decades before the game invent (Byrgenwerth era) people started wake up and remember events that haven't happen yet + message from the new great one that they were giving a 2nd chance to make things right etc. It feels like a very strange dream but they knew it was real. Some people remember more than other and they especially remember their own future and they lived/are gonna live+ a couple of other things in game event for exemple.

Now it's up to them to not make the same mistakes and make things right.

So imagine it’s like 2-3am at Byrgenwerth, everyone wake up from well this dream/ nightmare and they basically remember everything that happened to them. So you haven hundreds of people outside in their pyjama. Crying, hugging, and some almost throwing hands with others 💀 quite emotional. I know it’s pretty crazy (i don’t have everything settle yet)

*Yeah you have people who were basically bestie at the time almost punching each other because one betrayed the other years later lol and people who didn’t like each other at Byrgen but become friends way later are hugging and crying. Some people were really confused xD like the one who die earlier on the timeline or weren't very important or just leave this mess early.

So of course you have Laurence & Gehrman crying and holding each other in pyjama in the middle of the dark campus. Then Maria show up in the distance 👁️👁️ it’s even more of an emotional reunion.

So you have this 2 idiots then Maria show up in the distance, they’re stunned and then Laurence tells him « what the hell you’re waiting for just go!!!» so he runs extremely fast (maria too) and they stop a few meters away from each other just staring. Then he tried to apologize says he’s sorry for everything. « YOU’RE SORRY?! » she’s kinda mad and sad about everything that happened she kinda hit him but he is surprise it’s not that hard then she hugs him and they hug each other and cry. (Yeah the Doll is discuss a bit later it's all good)

At some point Laurence try to eclipse himself and Maria’s like « you fucking stay here! » because she have things to say to this dumbass too.

So everyone reunite and all. With Caryll/ Rom/ Ludwig etc.They are hugging and all and then you have like Damian trying to kick Mico’s ass and nobody stopping him XD

Also Charles and Laurence threw hands 💀it’s a mess.

*People who’re not suppose to be very friends at this era are in each other arms and some bff are like throwing hands.

Then Willem show up and tell everyone to shut up and calm down 😂

Charles and Maria later go to Cainhurst to hug all their family who slightly remember all the shit too. And so it don’t cause a war again as well 😂 because they're kinda salty about their nightmares were the church + executioners killed them.

Anyway they all kinda calm down and some times later they’re all reuniting by Willem & Laurence because we need to talk about what the hell happened. « Yep that was real » now time to change it.

After this mess and discussing what the hell happened and « we need to changed things! » they need to make a big plan how to avoid the fishing hamlet pb and save the orphan. they also can't just not use blood because it does save lives so it's quite complex.

So years later (because the beginning of it during like Maria, Ludwig, Caryll & Rom's hm 3rd of 4th years of university) they manage to make sure the hamlet don't became fishmen, and help Kos give birth (she isn't dead yet but her physical body do die afterwards). And baby orphan is fine and taking care off 👍

Then it's party time 😎 Well they still have things to take care of but I didn't thought of all the details yet. So Maria & Gehrman officially get together 🎉 (never really happened in my main interpret, it's complicated) and some times later travel between Yharnam and other places to help people around (to put it shortly).

THEN they buy a house next to a forest and a small village and live there for some time, maybe start a family etc (see the drawing with the baby!! I won't get into all the family detail today through). So they got the cottage/country house ✨

How they found it? Well funny story one day old hunters were on the mission (not the happy au but fic verse) and the mayor leave the house to them so they could sleep for a few nights and Gehrman really liked the house and even made a deposit for it for a few years if one day he wanted to buy it XD

Then after some time they accidentally adopt a lil dog too (before the huge white wolfhound years later) XD

Something like this. Need to find a name for this lil guy.

And recently I've been thinking a cat could be cool too. A really fluffy one

I made those 2 other sketches last year in link with the AU as well. I never share those so there it is.

And I have a fic planned (1-2 chap max for now), an entire summary, a chapter plan and even a few sentences written for this AU in particular. But idk when I could write it. And I could even have 2 versions depending the rating @_@ so maybe one day...

So yeah it's a bit messy but it's all the fluff & some other things I need. And that's it for now!

Ok so now I’m gonna post a fic lol. I wrote this a while ago and reread it yesterday and I actually think it’s good enough to post! So uh, here!

Miss Vai Battle Pageant

Based after a battle from Age of Calamity with a lot of creative liberties added in! In Zelda’s pov! Enjoy!

Zelda was admittedly concerned when she got a message from Lady Urbosa, telling her to arrive in the Gerudo Desert as soon as possible. She didn’t know why Urbosa needed her so quickly, but too many possible scenarios plagued her mind. Was there something wrong with the Divine Beast? Were there too many monsters for the Gerudo to handle alone? If either of these things were to be true, then why did Urbosa specifically tell Zelda to not bring Link, and only to bring Impa? That made her think that Urbosa was planning something, which scared her even more. Urbosa was a wise and focused Gerudo chief, but she gave herself moments of mischief when she desired it. Either way, Zelda didn’t know what to expect.

When they arrived at the desert, Urbosa led them to their rooms where they would be staying, and Zelda immediately noticed that it wasn't just her and Impa that were invited, but Mipha and Riju were here as well. Oh dear… it was something mischievous wasn’t it?

“Get some rest girls,” Urbosa told them before she left, “You’re gonna need it for tomorrow.” and with that, Urbosa left with a little skip to her step.

The first thing everyone did was interrogating Riju, she was the one always near Urbosa, she should know what she was up to. But alas, not even the young chief from the future knew what was happening.

“I guess we should get some rest as Urbosa suggested then,” Zelda sighed. Whatever was happening, they’ll have it figured out tomorrow.

When tomorrow came, Urbosa gathered the ladies into an empty Gerudo town, and the girls anxiously awaited whatever was coming their way.

“Hang on, where is everyone?” Impa asked, after noticing the empty town.

Urbosa smiled and tilted her head, “why, they’re all hunting for molduga guts of course.”

“All of them?” Riju asked with concern in her voice.

“Yes. You see, I brought all you vai here together because I wish to uncover something.”

“Uncover what?” It was Mipha’s turn to question the Gerudo chief. Urbosa smiled at her in response.

“I wish to uncover who is the mightiest vai. You will all fight each other, and I will watch and see who is the strongest. If you get knocked off your feet out of the area, you are to stand by me, if you come out on top, well…” Urbosa gave a slight giggle, Zelda knew what that giggle meant. “I guess we’ll see what happens after.”

Zelda sighed. Just great, if there was one thing that she wasn’t, it was a fighter. She’s gotten better at defending herself but she wasn’t raised as a gerudo warrior like Riju, she wasn’t a Sheikah guard like Impa, and she wasn’t raised to fight with a spear like Mipha. She wasn’t gonna win this.

The others stared at each other awkwardly, they certainly didn’t know how to begin to fight each other, which gave Zelda some hope. She knew that Urbosa wasn’t going to stop this, but the other girl’s reluctance could be used in her favor. She didn’t know about Riju, but she knew that Mipha was too gentle with her friends to make the first move on them, and she knew that Impa wouldn’t do any harm to her. She was too protective, so if Zelda were to use the reluctance that Impa and Mipha had against them, she could easily come out on t–

A sudden gust of air blew at her sides and she almost fell over. She stood up and gave Impa a shocked expression. Oh yeah. She forgot that Impa was very competitive, and would do anything to come out on top if it meant winning, no matter what they were doing. So, With that, Impa attacked Mipha, who responded in an annoyed cry.

“Impa!” She shouted, and Impa shrugged.

“I want to win! Sorry Mipha!”

With the first move made, the four girls fought each other with Urbosa watching. It was difficult for Zelda to keep up with what was happening, she landed a few good hits on everyone, but there was only so much she could do with her Sheikah slate. She simply wasn’t strong enough against the three warriors in front of her, and she finally was hit out of the boundary.

“Zelda! You’re out! Come over here!”

She stood up with a huff and went to where Urbosa was. Just as she expected, she lost.

“Nice work little bird,” Urbosa said gently.

“I lost, Urbosa. How did I do good? I’m not strong enough against them.”

“You’re strong in more ways than one. And besides, you haven’t lost. Not yet.”

Zelda looked up at Urbosa confused, and the Gerudo chief gave her a mischievous grin. She looked down after a moment and watched the rest of the battle. What else was Urbosa planning?

It didn’t take long for Riju to get knocked out of bounds as well, and she glumly walked over to where Urbosa and Zelda sat. It was now just Impa and Mipha. Zelda knew who would win, Impa was far too competitive for her own good, and Mipha was too gentle, Impa would easily take her out.

And as the battle commenced, it was as Zelda expected. Though Mipha fought back well, she didn’t want to hurt Impa, so in a moment of weakness, Impa was able to kick Mipha and push her straight out of bounds.

“WOO-HOO! I did it!” She cheered, with all the others watching her glumly. “I won!”

“Not yet.”

The girls looked at Urbosa confused as she stood there with a big smile on her face. “That battle wasn’t the only test. NOW!”

Urbosa leapt out of the way only for a girl they’ve never seen before to appear and begin attacking them. Zelda yelped as her shield hit against her, and she fell backwards.

“Oh come on!” Riju yelled angrily.

Impa went straight to Zelda and pulled her out of the way before the girl could do anything else. She wore blue Gerudo clothes with a veil over her face, though she clearly wasn’t Gerudo. She had fair skin, blond hair and bright blue eyes. Who was she? Have they seen her before?

Impa helped Zelda to her feet and the four of them stood before the strange girl. Riju in particular looked angry at her.

The Mystery Vai looked around, as if looking for someone, uncertainty in her eyes, which slightly confused Zelda. Why did she look so unsure of herself?

“That veil that she is wearing belongs to a dear friend of mine,” they heard Urbosa say from Din knows where. “Try to take it from her.”

They looked back at the Mystery Vai, and Zelda almost saw a hint of fear in her eyes. Impa yelled a battle cry and started charging towards the girl, and the Mystery Vai fled. Riju yelled as well and followed after them, leaving behind a baffled Zelda and Mipha.

“This is getting out of hand!” Mipha sputtered, and Zelda laughed in response.

“We might as well play along! I haven’t seen Urbosa this happy in a long while!” And with that, the two princesses ran after the other three.

The Mystery Vai led them all throughout Gerudo town. She was fast, and when Impa would get her hands on her, she was somehow able to get her off, and she would continue to outrun the group.

“We won’t get anything done if we keep chasing her like this!” Zelda yelled. They all slowed down and looked at her for guidance. “We need to corner her, me and Mipha will go one way, while Impa and Riju will lead her to us!”

“Where will we corner her?” Riju asked.

Zelda thought for a moment. “How about the sand seal station? Not a lot of places to run.”

The others nodded, and Riju and Impa ran to find the Mystery Vai, while the two princesses ran to the station. The plan worked perfectly, it didn’t take long for Impa and Riju to herd the girl into the sand seal station. Impa chased after her, and when she tried to dart out of the way of the station where Zelda and Mipha waited, Riju came by to hit her with Patricia. The vai gave a (surprisingly deep) yelp and landed into the sand seal station, fumbling to her feet, only to run right into Zelda and Mipha. She was cornered.

“GRAB HER!” Riju shouted, and Impa jumped in and wrapped her arms around the girl, holding her down. The mystery Vai lurched forward, and Impa almost lost her grip, but Mipha and Riju were able to help Impa hold the girl down. She struggled for a bit, but gave up when she realized it was no use.

“Let’s see who this mysterious Vai is, shall we?” Zelda asked the girls. They all cheered in response except for Riju.

“It’s Link, guys,” She simply said.

The other three froze.

“What?”

“It can’t be!”

Zelda grabbed the veil off the girl only to reveal a very annoyed looking Link.

“I don’t believe it!” Mipha cried, and immediately let go, looking embarrassed.

“Told you guys.” Riju let go as well, crossing her arms with a playful smirk.

Impa let out a loud laugh and gave him a little squeeze. “No wonder he was so hard to catch!”

Link let out an oomf as he was squished by Impa, “You lot are terrifying when you’re chasing after something, you know that?”

The girls all laughed.

“I guess we were a little intense…” Mipha said softly, looking down.

“Say Link,” Zelda started, stepping closer, “Why are you here? I didn’t think you’d agree to do something like this!”

“I didn’t agree to do anything! I was just walking around when I got bagged and carried all the way here!”

Zelda sighed. Oh Urbosa. “I’m sorry Link, but it’s done now.”

“Heh, thank Hylia, I wanna go home.” He let out another noise as Impa gave him one last squeeze before letting go. They all laughed again before walking to the main plaza.

“You’re not hurt anywhere, are you Link?” Mipha asked, almost bashfully.

“My pride is a little bruised, but other than that, I’m perfectly fine.”

Mipha smiled and Impa patted his head. They were glad that they didn’t seriously injure Link.

“Wonderful!”

The girls stopped at the loud voice of Urbosa, who was standing outside the throne room.

“You vai did the second challenge with ease! Good work.” Without warning, Urbosa sprinted towards them, grabbing Link before they could even react. She was standing at the entrance, her sword drawn in one hand and a shocked Link in the other. “Your last challenge to determine who’s the mightiest vai is to fight me, and rescue the hero.”

“Urbosa I didn’t agree to any of thi–”

“Silence Link, you’re my hostage now.” She gave a laugh and ran off with Link being dragged behind.

“Oh great,” Impa pouted, “We lost Link.”

“We must find him! A-and rescue him!” Mipha stuttered slightly, if she could blush, Zelda would assume that her face would be as red as her scales right now.

“Where would Urbosa even take him?” Zelda wondered out loud, she went out of Gerudo town, but it would be dangerous to venture out into the Gerudo desert with the Yiga out there, not to mention the moldugas that are being hunted by the rest of the Gerudo.

“I bet she’s taking him to the throne room, or to her bedroom…” Riju said, staring at where that would be.

“And why would she do that?”

“To throw us off. There’s an entrance to the side where she could enter through, without us seeing.”

They all stared at the throne room for a moment, Zelda nodded.

“I think Riju is right. I don’t think Urbosa would want to lead us out into the desert. Come on, let’s try to intercept her.”

The others nodded and ran towards the side of the throne room. It was empty, but they heard noises, so they ran up to where the bedroom was. Sitting on the bed was Link, he was slouched over with his head resting in his hand.

“Hey,” he greeted, and the girls smiled, until Urbosa ambushed them.

Impa, Riju, and Zelda jumped out while Mipha lunged straight for Link. Ok, Link was accounted for… good.

“Don’t let Urbosa grab him!” Zelda yelled after her, and Mipha nodded in response.

“Alright, let’s see how strong you vai really are!” Urbosa shouted, glee spread all over her face. It was a difficult battle being in such a small space, but they fought back hard. Urbosa swung her scimitar and Riju deflected it with her shield. They fought with each other for a moment, Urbosa pushing down on Riju.

“I cannot fail!” The Gerudo chieftain yelled.

With a loud cry, Riju pushed as hard as she could and ducked under the weapons, slamming into Urbosa as hard as she could. Urbosa nearly fell over but stopped herself, and in one swift motion, she charged after Zelda, and although she was tasked with keeping Link safe, Mipha jumped in the way, blocking the attack with her spear. She never could stand to let anyone get hurt.

“We need to get her out of this room, I think there’s a boundary drawn that we don’t know about!” Zelda yelled at the girls fighting.

“Leave it to me!” Impa yelled back, and used a gust of wind to push Urbosa back. She stumbled for a bit, and when she got her footing back, Impa vanished and reappeared suddenly above her. Impa kicked her in the shoulder,and was able to push her further.

“Everyone, push!” Zelda shouted, and they all ran towards Urbosa to shove her out of the room.

With enough force, Urbosa was pushed out of the room and down the stairs. When she stood back up, the four vai blocked the path, ready for her to fight back, but she didn’t. She laughed out loud and put her weapons away.

“Good work you four. I’m impressed.”

The girls relaxed and gave Urbosa room as she walked up the stairs. “Now follow me, I know now who the mightiest vai is.”

The girls were buzzing with excitement as they entered the room, sitting at the bed where Link stayed put. Though Zelda didn’t know who it could be, she knew deep down that it wasn’t her. She didn’t do much of the fighting. Sure, she came up with ideas, but that was nothing compared to the strength the rest of them had. Either one deserved the title of the “mightiest vai”. She smiled slightly, she would be happy for whoever got the title, regardless.

“So… Link… I’m curious about your opinion, who do you think was the mightiest of them all?” Urbosa leaned against the wall, eyeing the group on the bed.

Link’s head rose and he got a nervous look on his face. He fidgeted his hands and looked at each girl. “I-I’m not sure… they were all pretty strong.”

“Oh come on Link! You gotta pick one!” Impa blurted out. “It was me, wasn’t it? I was clearly the toughest wasn’t I?”

“No! I fought harder than you!” Riju protested and the other girls laughed.

“I won the first challenge!”

“That doesn’t mean anything!”

Urbosa raised a hand to quiet them all.

“Well his opinion doesn’t influence what I have determined…” She assured them.

Zelda looked down.

“And what I determined, the mightiest Vai… was all of you.”

Zelda’s head shot up.

“What?” Mipha exclaimed .

Urbosa smiled at all of them. “I watched each and every one of you during those challenges, and to simply put it, you are all mighty and strong in your own ways. Impa, your fighting was unlike anything I’ve ever seen, your physical prowess was admirable, even to a Gerudo warrior, and your undying loyalty makes you dependable. Mipha, your compassion and kindness towards others makes you fiercely protective, you help everyone however you can, that is a trait that I do not see often. Riju, your determination and unwavering spirit makes you a powerful leader when you are needed, you refuse to give up, which is an important mindset to be in. And Zelda,” Urbosa stared at the princess of Hyrule with the most warmth and love in her eyes. “Your wit and ability to see the world differently helps you find ways to win, ways that may seem hidden to others. It makes you a natural born leader.” Urbosa stared at her for a long moment, just to make sure the message was sent, before looking away, “You are all strong in your own ways, and you shouldn’t compete against each other or anyone just to see who is better. You’ll only focus on your weaknesses, instead, you should work together to win, to strengthen each other. Which is exactly what you did today. You girls used your strengths and made up for your weaknesses and won against me. That is the sign of a mighty vai. So that title does not belong to one, it belongs to all of you. I’m so proud of you all.”

Zelda couldn’t help but smile. It was nice hearing that from her. She tries so hard not to compare herself to everyone around her, but it is a difficult challenge that she can’t seem to overcome. Impa and Link would always fight so valiantly while she did nothing, Mipha was a beloved princess for her people while she felt like a failed and hated princess, and Riju was so young yet wise beyond her years. Zelda felt as if she couldn’t compete with anyone, since she was so below everyone else. But Urbosa was right, she must only compare herself to… well… herself. She looked at her hands, she truly has come a long way. Maybe, her power will awaken within her if she’s kinder to herself.

The room felt warm and comfy as the girls felt pride within them. Even Link had a small smile, though he wasn’t addressed directly.

“Come on vai, there is a prize for this, a great Gerudo feast. I’m sure you all will love it.” Urbosa said with a smile.

“Oh thank goodness, I am starving!” Impa huffed while leaning back.

“Link is invited to right?” Mipha asked, “I think he deserves it after what you put him through.”

Link scratched the back of his head bashfully. “It’s no big deal, really.”

“No, Link, you’re invited to feast too. Thanks for helping me with this.” Urbosa gave him a wink, and he smiled back. They talked for hours after that until the rest of the Gerudo returned, a stronger bond between the group forming. They all saw each other in a different light, strong and powerful women who could lift each other up with their own strengths. Even the princess of Hyrule saw herself a little differently. Maybe, she wasn’t a failure after all…. But until Calamity Ganon is sealed away for good, she’ll never be fully convinced otherwise.

a/n: heyy! just an fyi, this fic is not exactly following the timeline. and also, in case you didn’t see my poll, i’m going to be posting two chapters in one post as often as possible. i’m going start a weekly posting schedule for this fic if that makes sense lol. so the next time i will (try to) post will be next thursday! enjoy! xx

C H A P T E R T H R E E

“You want toast, Holly?” Nancy asked the tiny girl at the table. “No? Okay..” She smiled softly. It was the next morning. Everleigh still hadn’t heard from Melanie so she figured she wanted to be alone. She had already finished breakfast, now waiting for Tina to pick her up. Nancy was going in Steve’s car, since he invited her and why not go with Tina and Vicki? Hopefully Melanie will be there too, but she forgot to ask T. Everleigh had called her this morning, but no one answered. Mike left early on his bike to meet with his friends and Mr. Clarke. Then, there was a honk outside.

“Bye mom! Bye Holly. Bye Nance.” The girl waved, smiling. She walked out the door, her bag slung over one shoulder. Tina was outside with Vicki in the passenger seat and Melanie was sat in the back along with Carol. Now Everleigh didn’t have too much against Carol, but they just didn’t get along so well. It was weird being around her and they didn’t have similar interests. Everleigh looked over at Tina signaling to Carol who was chewing gum obnoxiously and picking at her nails. Tina mouthed “Sorry, V wanted her to come”. Everleigh nodded and opened the car door, while Melanie moved into the middle seat, smiling at her. Everleigh got in and took her backpack off.

“Morningg!” She smiled. “Hey, Ev!” Everyone cheered- Carol was a little less happy. Everleigh turned to look at Melanie while Tina began driving. She didn’t know if Mel told the other girls about being stood up (again) so she mouthed “Hey, you okay?” Melanie nodded. “They know, it’s alright Ev. But I’m okay. I think I’m going to break up with him today.” She announced sadly. Everleigh nodded along with the other girls. “I mean, what has he really done for you anyways?” Tina asked rhetorically. Vicki nodded, pointing her manicured finger at Tina. “True. He hasn’t even taken you out on a proper date. I mean, you are DATING. Not just friends with an extra smooch on the side.” Vicki rolled her eyes.

The girls continued chatting and cheering Melanie up until they arrived in the school parking lot. They all got out, grabbing their bags. “We still have a while until class starts.” Tina informed everyone, looking at the black and gold watch on her wrist. “We can just chill here for a bit.” The girls leaned against Tina’s car, gossiping. “I’m excited for your annual Halloween bash coming up, T. You always have the best parties.” Everleigh gushed. It was true. Tina always had the best parties with the most drama. Tina smiled back. “Me too! I think I’m gonna be Madonna this year.”

The girls began talking about what they wanted to be for Halloween while waiting to go inside. “V, you got gum? I finished mine yesterday.” Everleigh asked, pouting. Vicki was the type of girl who always had everything in her bag. Whether it be tissues, gum, lipgloss, and basically anything that wasn’t school related. She nodded, pulling a pack out of her bag. She handed one to each of the girls (besides Carol who was smacking hers away like a cow chewing grass), everyone saying “Thank you.”

While the girls were discussing cheer tryouts which was the following day, they perked up, hearing loud music blaring. A blue camaro pulled into the parking lot across from Tina’s spot. Which was… Everleigh’s normal spot. She scoffed, not being able to complain because she didn’t bring her car that day. A tall boy with a dirty blonde mullet and drop dead gorgeous blue eyes opened the front door of the car, stepping out. He was beautiful to say the least. Everyone’s eyes were on him. Now normally, as a fashion addict, Everleigh hated denim over denim and had never seen anyone look good in it. But this kid rocked it.

He looked around the parking lot with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. A small redhead girl, Everleigh noticed, got out of the backseat with a skateboard in hand and skated away. The boy shut the door and strutted confidently towards the school. The girls’ gaze were watching him like predators feasting on prey. He was attractive, Everleigh could admit. He looked full of himself too. Her clean brows raised in amusement and chuckled dryly. “Who is that?” Vicki asked, in a trance. “I have no idea..” Tina replied, twirling her curly dark hair. “But would you check out that ass?” She glanced at Everleigh who just rolled her eyes smiling playfully. “Look at it go!” Tina chuckled.

Melanie was the only one not staring. She couldn’t. She never did anyways when her friends pointed out attractive guys out of respect for Carl. This new kid didn’t look like her type anyways. Everleigh noticed this and placed a hand on her shoulder in understanding.

The bell rang and everyone was sat in first period. Everleigh was once again alone without her friend to talk to. She sighed as Mr. Mundy began taking attendance. “William Hargrove?” He called. So that was the new kid’s name. Just then, the door opened to reveal the star of the show. The girls in the room sat up straighter, including Tina who glanced over at Everleigh wiggling her eyebrows. She mouthed an “as if” and scoffed in response, smiling. “Here.” He spoke. “You’re late on your first day, Hargrove. Not a good look.” Mr. Mundy replied, his brows raised and making a “tch” noise with his mouth.

“Well, sir. I didn’t know where to go, since it’s my first day.” William said, his hands in his pockets. “Alright, fine, William. You may sit..” Mr. Mundy looked over the class, everyone hoping he would tell him to sit with them. “It’s Billy.” The boy responded, clearing his throat. “Okay.. Billy. You can sit over there next to Everleigh Wheeler. Raise your hand, Everleigh.”

Well. This is great. Everleigh raised her hand. Billy walked over and dropped into the desk, throwing his backpack on the floor, sending her a wink with a smirk. She’d never admit it, but she felt butterflies in her stomach swirling around. She turned around to the window resting chin on her hand, waiting for class to officially start.

Once Mr. Mundy explained what he was going to teach, Everleigh leaned over to her pink backpack and pulled out a spiral notebook with a large pencil case. She grabbed a black pen with a few highlighters and began taking notes. She was writing something from the board when she felt a light tap on her arm. “Do you have a pencil?” Billy whispered. “It’s your first day and you didn’t bring a pencil?” Everleigh asked. Billy shrugged. She sighed and grabbed a pink pencil. She offered it to him in which he declined, chuckling softly. “A normal pencil, if you have one.”

She turned back and grabbed a freshly sharpened No. 2 pencil and gave it to him which he took this time. “Thanks, doll.” He smiled. Huh. That’s odd. Why did her face feel hot all of a sudden? Was it hot in here or what? She nodded, turning away again. She continued her notes until she felt another tap on her shoulder again. She turned to face a waiting Billy. “What’s your name, sweetheart?”

“Everleigh.” She replied simply. Mr. Mundy just said her name a few minutes ago, but hey, who is she to judge? She forgets things all the time. He nodded, looking back to the board, deciding to leave her alone for now. She turned away as well, but thinking. She looked over at him again. “Can I see your schedule?” She asked, holding her hand out.

“Why, you wanna stalk me or somethin’?” He joked, smirking. She put her hand back where it was before. “Don’t be so full of yourself, Hargrove.” She smiled, turning away to listen to Mr. Mundy. He chuckled softly.

By the time she knew it, class was over and it was lunch time. Everleigh packed up her stuff and walked out with Tina, Billy following behind. And into the large cafeteria they went.

Like first period, but much worse, the cafeteria was horribly loud. Everleigh sat at the ‘popular’ table, so things were always interesting there. Tina and Everleigh walked to their normal seats and said hello to everyone. “Did you see the new boy? He’s hot!” A girl named Avery giggled. No one really liked Avery, she just sat with the cool kids because she was dating one of the boys on the soccer team and then made a big scene breaking up with him at one of Tina’s parties.

Everleigh looked around the table for Melanie, but she wasn’t there. She looked towards the entrance of the cafeteria and right when she was going to turn around, Billy walked in. He moved with such confidence, like Hawkins could never be good enough for him. Avery squealed which made the boys at the table groan. The girls on the other hand like Tina and Vicki watched closely. Carol looked too, but she couldn’t look too hard because she was still dating Tommy H who sat next to her.

Everleigh began to worry when there was no sign of Melanie. “I’m gonna go find Mel.” She announced, grabbing her stuff and leaving the table. Everyone nodded. She left the cafeteria and looked for Melanie. She checked the bathrooms first. No one. Which meant she was probably outside. Melanie never smoked a lot but she always did when she was upset. In the same spot as always. Everleigh walked outside behind the bleachers and just as she thought, Melanie was crying while smoking a cigarette.

“Oh, Mel..” Everleigh walked over to the girl pulling her into a hug and allowing her to cry into her shoulder. Ignoring the smell of smoke which she hates, Everleigh comforted her friend wordlessly. “I-I want to break up with him n-now but I just don’t know how..” Melanie choked out. “It’s okay, I’ll be there with you.” Melanie nodded. Melanie never let Everleigh go. And she was fine with that. “I think I want to do it now. But I don’t want to hurt his feelings.” Melanie pulled away, wiping her tears. Her mascara was ruined and her nose was red.

“Okay, we can do that. Let’s just fix you up first, mkay?” Everleigh consoled, rubbing her arm up and down. Melanie nodded again. Everleigh wrapped her arm around the girl to her shoulder, still rubbing as they walked to the bathrooms. They walked in and Everleigh pulled out a pink and white makeup pouch. She grabbed makeup wipes and wiped her face. She reapplied Melanie’s mascara and her blush. The makeup brushes felt comforting to Melanie which helped her tears stop forming. “Done. You wanna wait a bit or go now?” Everleigh questioned. Melanie straightened her shoulders “Now.”

Everleigh nodded, before she could say anything, Melanie grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the cafeteria. Everleigh stumbled, clutching her backpack in her hand. Melanie stomped to the table where Carl was seated, which Billy was at as well. Melanie let go of Everleigh’s hand, now shy all of a sudden. “We’re breaking up, Carl.” She told him quietly. Carl’s face scrunched up. “Excuse me?” He stood up, angry. His fists clenched into balls. Everleigh felt a rush over her. She stepped in front of her friend.

“You heard her. You treat her like she’s not worth your time. One second you’re telling her how much you love her and the next, you’re standing her up. Where were you last night, huh?” Everleigh folded her arms, scolding Carl like a small child. He deflated, not knowing how to respond. Everyone was looking now. Even Billy. His brows raised in amusement. Everleigh slung her bag over her shoulder. Tina stood up as well. “She’s too good for you. Melanie has always been too good but you’re just to blind to see it.” She spat. Carl stood, frozen. He slowly sat back down, speechless.

“I’m sorry.” Melanie apologized. Tina and Everleigh smacked their foreheads mentally. Why was she apologizing? Melanie never did anything wrong. It was all in her head. “You can leave now.” Everleigh sarcastically smiled, pointing behind her with her thumb. Carl cursed under his breath, but walked away with his stuff nonetheless. Melanie sat down, huffing out a breath of air she didn’t know she was holding in. Then the usual topics were discussed once again. Like nothing happened.

“I think I’m going to hand out my party flyers tomorrow.” Tina announced. “A party, you say?” Billy spoke out of nowhere. All heads turned to him. “Yeah. I host Halloween and Christmas parties every year. They’re pretty packed.” She explained, happily speaking to him. “So like, will there be booze?” He asked, smirking that stupid smirk. “Duh,” Tina laughed along with some other people there. “Hm.” He hummed.

Then Everleigh brought up cheer tryouts tomorrow. This was always the worst part of the year (besides tests). Cheer tryouts are always full and Everleigh always feels bad saying no to people. “I think I’m going to try out.” Vicki told Everleigh. “You should, V! You’d be a great cheerleader.” Everleigh complimented in which Vicki smiled. “Yo, Billy.” Tommy pat his hand on Billy’s shoulder. “Speaking of tryouts, basketball tryouts are after school tomorrow. You going?” He asked. “Yeah,” Billy dryly responded. The girls at the table all shared a look. Billy on the basketball team? They were head over heels already.

Billy was gossiping about everyone in his head. Every girl seated with him was stuck up and rich. Considering Everleigh’s popularity, which he could tell she definitely had from all the stares from the boys in first period, he would eventually want to mess around with her. These boys weren’t special.. Or really good enough to be his friends, in his opinion. But this was the best he could get for now.

“Oh my God. Justin wants to ask out Wendy.” Vicki said changed the subject. “Justin told his best friend Paul who told Randy who told his girlfriend Marge who told Riley who told me.” The girls gasped. “Wait, but I thought Wendy just got dumped?” Everleigh questioned, confused. The girls spoke about drama as they normally did and the boys discussed basketball tryouts.

C H A P T E R F O U R

Now it was sixth period. P.E could either be really fun or terribly hard. For example, dodgeball. Everleigh always thought she looked like a chicken whenever she ran without pom poms in her hands. And she had a horrible aim. But on the other hand, volleyball was the best. She loved teaming up with her friends and beating the other side. Today was basketball, which makes sense because tryouts were tomorrow and Coach probably wanted to see what he would be working with.

Everleigh walked into the girls locker room with Vicki and Tina. “E, I don’t think anyone hates the uniforms as much as you.” Vicki joked. Everleigh giggled in response. “They’re so ugly. It looks like something a 40-year old man would wear.” She made an ick expression. While the three of them were changing and chatting, Carol came into the room (late, of course) and grabbed onto Vicki’s arm. “Girl, mister hot stuff is in this class.” She boasted. ‘Hot stuff’ was probably referring to the new kid, Billy.

“You’re awfully excited for someone who’s been taken since the seventh grade.” Everleigh teased. But Carol ignored her comment and continued talking to Vicki. “He’s already out there playing against Harrington. He looks really good.” She smacked her gum as she spoke. Tina wiggled her eyebrows. Everleigh and Tina were more practical when it came to relationships, but they loved to talk about boys without full seriousness.

Once everyone was all finished changing, Everleigh walked with Tina to the bleachers until further instruction. “Ooh, Carol wasn’t wrong. He does look fabulous.” Tina gushed, passing her lipgloss to you. Everleigh nodded, reapplying her lipgloss, not knowing how to respond. He looked alright. “Did you see Mel after the breakup? I haven’t seen her since lunch.” Tina turned to ask. Everleigh shook her head. “I think she called her mom to pick her up. Ugh, Carl is such an idiot. He never deserved her in the first place. I told her that too, but she didn’t want to listen.” She explained.

“Yeah, I don’t really know what she saw in him. He’s such a momma’s boy also. He would probably marry her if he could.” Tina cringed, making the two of you laugh. Everleigh looked as Billy played against Steve. Speaking of Steve, she definitely wanted to know more about him and Nancy. “Is that a six pack?” Tina pointed out. “It’s getting hot in here.” She fanned herself with her hand. Everleigh grinned cheekily and fanned her with both hands. She giggled and raised her hand. “Coach!”

Coach J turned around from the boys and raised an eyebrow. “Yes, Tina?” He asked. “When can we play?” She questioned. “No!” She chuckled, hitting her arm. “T, I’m terrible at basketball.” She whined, pouting. Tina laughed evilly. “Whenever these guys finish.” Coach J replied in a loud tone. “Great, we don’t have to do anything till next week.” Everleigh joked.

Billy pushed Steve onto the gym floor, creating a loud thud. There was a collection of “ooh”’s in the room. “Uh, correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s considered a foul right?” Everleigh questioned. Tina nodded, speechless. But no one called anything. Steve just got back up to follow Billy and his team. “Guess not.” Tina shrugged. “Wanna skip? This is sooo boring.” She suggested. “Alright!” Everleigh grabbed her fluffy backpack and followed Tina down the bleachers. “Coach! Can we go to the bathroom?” Everleigh asked. “Uh, sure, but why are you bringing your stuff?” Coach J asked.

“Lady products.” Tina quipped. The coach asked no further questions and waved the girls off. The two walked through the halls chatting. “Oh, by the way,” Tina started. “You remember Susan the Slut?” She asked. “Ugh, yeah. She was the worst.” Everleigh rolled her eyes. Susan would date almost any boy she saw, tell them she was madly in love, bring them to her bed, and then accuse them of cheating. And as for the girls, she always had enemies and talked crap for no reason. “She’s moving back to Hawkins next week, I think.”
