Don’t go to sleep, he thinks. Don’t. Something is wrong.

Across the rooftop, the light’s gotten brighter. Bigger. It’s almost like someone’s opened the door, and the stairwell light is flooding out. It’s hard for Tommy to focus on it, though. His gaze keeps slipping back to the growing pool of red on the ground in front of him.

“Gold?”

Wilbur? What is he doing here?

It’s the last thing Tommy thinks before his mind spins, and his eyes slip closed.

so this one is actually a different interactive fic than the other one that's only on discord at the minute

premise is that Tommy has the powers of murphy's law where everything just perpetually goes wrong around him, and sleepybois are a villain group that take notice of this and use these powers to their advantage since making things go wrong for other people works out great for them

idk it's explained better in the discord, and it's interactive in the sense that you can literally just say "yo what if this happened" and if i or one of the negotiators likes it [ again explained on there ] it'll happen at some point

maybe this is too hot of a take and maybe im not 100% correct on this but. while the role of misogyny cannot and should not go unstated in this phenomenon. one of the main reasons cnikis or really any of the less popular characters was widely not understood and reduced to one-dimensional archetypes was because engagement from people getting into the character was often met with hostility. if you talk too much about her friendship with cwilbur you're reducing her to an accessory. if you talk too much about her destructive moments you're reducing her to a girlboss. if you talk too much about her sweet moments you're reducing her to a caretaker role. if you write a fic or draw art that centers these things, you run the risk of people attacking you for poor characterization when you're only beginning to get into the character. duos, cool moments, and endearing traits are the kinds of things that propelled characters like tommy, tubbo, ranboo, wilbur, etc into having large fanbases, but talk about these things with niki or other less popular characters and suddenly there's a problem.

and moreover, while a good portion of the content from fans who did main her character and were knowledgeable about her was positive engagement about her design, funny moments, art and fanfics, etc. a lot of it was negative engagement fixated on stamping out all of these "bad tropes" from newer fans of the character, hellbent on making sure that cniki is always completely understood all the time. this made engaging with her character and fans very intimidating, because there was always this feeling that you have to be a fan of her "correctly." and most people seemed to not bother, say as little about her as possible (thus reducing her to a one-dimensional character), and go on posting about characters for whom content was more positive.

so before hating on people for posting in excitement about qniki interacting with qwilbur/tallulah, or joking about yuri, or taking down the federation/codes, or anything else youve decided is problematic, ask yourself if the best way to encourage people to be fans of female streamers is to police their every anticipatory thought and headcanon, or if it would be more productive to share clips, fanart, or hell. join in on the speculation.

as an aside, dsmp and adjacent mcyt communities have a long history of participating in creating a brand for creators. its helpful for bringing new people into the community to share cwilbur's villain monologues, or ctommy antagonizing cdream for fun, or ophil being a good dad to a character, etc. note that within these communities these characters are not thought of in these ways, but are expanded to three-dimensional people. getting upset at people for flanderizing your fav is often shooting yourself in the foot. "shes more than xyz" we know. but we cant post about every single aspect of her at all times. of course theres always fics where characterization suffers, but this happens no matter what. its better to share fics you like, so that people have a positive example to emulate, than to hate on a popular mischaracterization, which just makes authors scared to engage with that character.

please dont take anything i said out of context, im talking about a specific thing that happens with niki and countless other characters. and again, i dont doubt that misogyny contributes to a lot of this. literally all im saying is to let people have fun in slightly incorrect ways sometimes for the good of the ecosystem.

Phil has black suit with class on his fingers, green dress, black bird-like mask, head cover with green and white stripes and black/grey cape. Techno has pig mask, red eyes, tan skin and and long pink hair. He is wearing white suit wizh red shods and belt, golden stripes around the edges and fur/fluff around the neck. I really like kind of reverse hero-villain thing. So the idea with this is basaicaly that you have this world where everyone has superpowers, some stronger than others (the maximum level being 20- that level is extremly rare). Those powers can 'wake up' at any point of life but most comonly between the ages 0 and 25. Now if you have power above the level 12, you are legally obliged to join the hero force. They serve as sort of police/army. They have to live outside of the rest of society which helps to make them into a legends of sorts, they live in often terrible conditions and have to follow strict rules. They go on missions and for every successful mission, they get a reward but for a failed one they are punished. The villains on the other hand are not a unified group. Villain is basically anyone who is not hero but possesses enought power (doesn't have to be magical) to be a threat. They mostly work as individuals or form smaller groups (thought there are some exceptions from that). All of sbi have high level of power. Wilbur's power is placebo power which means you have the power other people believe you have. I believe the other powers don't need explaining Phil is Will's father and Techno and Tommy are niot related to them (age wise Techno is between Philza and Wilbur and Tommy is little bit youger than will) Phil got his powers around the age of 23 but didn't won't to join the heros so he hid them. Wilbur got his power around the age of 19. He told Philza he has the same powers as him as they are often hereditary so he would believe him easily. later he also got fire and low persuassion powers (all from the placebo power). He decided to join the heros but promised Phil to not speak of his powers. From that moment on, his contact with phil (or anyone else) was cut. Phil tried to contact him multiple times but unsuccessfully and after some time he decided that he needs to know what's going on and broke into the place Will was at (turning himself into a villain) Shortly before that, Will caussed failure of some mission and also broke some of the important rules of the heros and was beaten up and tortured as a punishment. When Phil found him he was dying, but he managed to heal him. After that they both became villains. Wilbur knew techno (a villain) from his time as a hero and they joined with him. Tommy is a young hero who is sent to capture the trio. They immediately take liking in him and are curently trying to convince him to join them.
