One thing about coming from a tiny conservative town and becoming transgender at university is how quickly you find out that the “crazy liberal ideas” that you heard about at home are Not Enough. The “gender-neutral washrooms” that your parents were so up in arms about are so rare you might just end up using the one that aligns with your AGAB anyways. The “share your pronouns with the class” discussions that your family scoffed at back home are equally mocked here, and only make you uncomfortable. Somehow conservative media told you that everyone at university is gay and transgender, that it’s some kind of pandemic seizing the youth of today, but thats not what you find when you get here. You were told to be afraid of sharing your room with a trans person before you came to university, but now it seems more likely that your roommate is going to be a transphobe. You still haven’t changed your gender marker on the school website, although it’s technically easy - you have to worry if it will affect your housing, the resources available to you, the way that your seemingly-friendly RAs and RCs look at you.

NOTE - This is the final product of my previous WIP post.
↠ Recently, I've been dealing with... a lot. Incredibly tough, confusing, and heavy emotions. I've been running around mentally, wondering if I'm handling things properly, if I'm doing the right thing. The painful reality is, I don't know. But this final portrait has served as a really cathartic way to process all that internal turmoil.
Throughout Re4, Leon’s emotions don’t follow much of an outward-displaying narrative, minus his openly hostile distrust of Ada. He aggressively hides his pain, masterfully masking it with a blend of sarcasm and humor. (He’s actually a hell of a lot like DMC5’s interpretation of Dante, come to think of it.)
Because it’s so rare for him, I wanted to try and capture a fleeting moment of emotional release- I’d imagine that even with everything he’s endured, there’s still solitary moments where all those emotional barriers collapse.

leon s kennedy would definitely be the kind of guy to physically overexert himself and take on as much of the labor he can because he feels bad if he doesn't. even if it's fair share, he's gotta jump in and help out.

jfc my "buy ice cream for your persecutors" post was about treating them as someone who has every right to exist in this world with you. it wasn't about being so very niceys to the mean hurtful persecutors who hurt everyone around them.
so in your personal experience being nice to the persecutors didn't do jack shit to help with their healing? cool! a) your experience isn't universal and b) my post wasn't even necessarily about "healing".
seriously people get all fucking up in arms about not treating their persecutors, a literal part of their own brain, with fucking respect. or if you ascribe to the idea that alters are their own separate people, then that is a whole-ass person you're saying deserves to be mistreated and shit. and I don't know about you but I simply do not believe in treating anyone as if they have less of a right to simply exist as I do.
so get that persecutor some fucking ice cream. and start treating all parts of you the respect each and every one of you deserve.
