Welcome to the Tech Girl Tourney!
With a whopping 64 gals who are cyborgs, robots, programs, and more this is shaping up to be a fierce and fun competition!
Here are some rules and such before I give you a written list of contenders and their schedules.
RULES.
Play nice with each other. No harassment or bullying of any kind will be tolerated. It’s a silly little competition! Stay silly! Stay kind!
Think to yourself: "is what I'm about to type about my opponent something I'd like to hear about my favorite blorbo or fandom?" If the answer is "no" don't type it. Hype up your blorbo rather than trash-talk the other gal.
Propaganda is welcome and encouraged (so long as you're following rules 1 & 2). If I miss your propaganda don't hesitate to hop in my inbox and point it out to me. I don't always get notifications on this tumblr account for some reason.
HERE BE SPOILERS (potentially). I don't know every fandom in this tournament but given the nature of these sort of characters, spoilers are highly likely for character reveals! By continuing to follow this blog and participate in this tournament you're consenting to seeing spoilers. I would tag them but I genuinely don't know which characters are spoilers and which aren't.
Play nice with me, your friendly neighborhood tournament runner. I am not a professional tournament runner. I am just another person on the internet with feelings. Don't come flying into my inbox to yell at me about things like seeding, or that your specific blorbo didn't get in, or that you think a certain character doesn't count. I will just delete and block messages that I feel are too hostile toward me. I've seen the kinda stuff other poll runners have had to put up with and I don't want to deal with it here. I just want to have fun!
All polls will go up at 12 pm EST and be up for 1 day each except the final poll which will be up for a week.
With that out of the way! Onto the contenders and schedule!

Broker (Final Rose)
"Why are we here?” Weiss asked. “This place seems... kind of shady.”
The nightclub, while full of enthusiastic patrons, nevertheless retained a certain shadiness to it. The building looked more like a repurposed warehouse, and the bouncers at the door seemed rather more grizzled than was strictly necessary.
“Because Blake wanted to know if the White Fang have been up to something, and the person who runs this place can tell us,” Yang replied.
“And you’re sure they’ll speak to us?” Blake asked. The Faunus’s brows furrowed as she took note of the Aura signature of the bar staff. They had enough power to actually fight off a team of decent hunters.
“Yeah. I know somebody who knows somebody who knows them. They’ll speak to us.”
“And is there a reason Ruby isn’t here?” Weiss asked.
“Because I don’t want my little sis anywhere near a place like this.” Yang led them toward the back, and a burly wolf Faunus with almost as much Aura as Yang stepped forward to bar their path.
“Where do you think you’re going?” he growled.
Yang slowly, very slowly, reached into her pocket and pulled something out. It was a charm of some kind. The wolf Faunus’s eyes narrowed.
“Where’d you get that?”
“A friend of mine gave it to me,” Yang replied. “And she said to tell you to tell your boss that there’ll be a discount on the next shipment if she gives us a hand.” Yang paused. “Authentication code Gary-Hamster-Snake-9000.”
The wolf Faunus tapped the communicator on his lapel. “Boss, we got guests here to see you. Yeah, they check out. They knew the phrase and the authentication code too. A blonde, a cat Faunus, and the Schnee heiress.”
There was a brief pause, and then the wolf Faunus motioned for them to go ahead. He fell into step behind them as a handful of other guards moved into position as well.
“Uh... Yang,” Weiss said. “This seems kind of...”
“Relax,” Yang said. “We’ll be fine. The people here know what the deal is. Just let me do the talking.”
“So... what can this humble Dia do for you?” The fox Faunus behind the luxurious oak desk asked. She had the same petite frame as Vanille, but her hair was the same pale white as Weiss’s, and her eyes were a piercing steel-grey. “After all, any friend of Vanille’s and Diana’s is a friend of mine.”
Yang sat down at the table. “We’re looking into the White Fang.”
“We are not involved with the White Fang,” the fox Faunus spat. “We are Yun and Dia. The only thing the White Fang can expect from us is a spear to the gut.”
“I know that, but we’ve been chasing leads. You have people in some of the other clubs and underground exchanges. The White Fang have been doing their best to cover their tracks, but we think they might have been trying to slip a few things into Vale.”
“Oh?” The woman folded her hands together, and her fox tail curled onto her lap. The wolf Faunus stood beside her, ready to attack at a moment’s notice. “What sort of things.”
“Nothing big,” Blake said. “But a lot of small things... innocuous things that aren’t threatening until they’re combined. Nothing would be flagged, but you would see an increase in overall smuggling volume.”
“Hmm...” The fox Faunus tapped her manicured fingers on her desk. A flick of her wrist called up a holographic display. She glanced at it for a moment before gesturing again. A map of Vale appeared with a handful of locations highlighted. “I have noticed a significant increase in smuggling requests from these locations. It’s beyond the usual seasonal change. While I don’t know exactly what was smuggled - that’s not my turf - I do know that the people there would not smuggle anything large and risky. It’s not their style.” Blake memorised the locations. “Can you introduce us to the people who run those places?”
“Well...” The fox Faunus smiled. “That might go beyond the scope of the courtesy I owe Vanille and Diana. It would, I think, require compensation.”
Thankfully, Yang had come prepared. “Diana gave me this.” She slid a data storage device across the table. “It contains the authentication codes for surveillance drones being used by the Mistral intelligence services to monitor your facilities in Mistral.”
The fox Faunus sat up. “Really?”
“In exchange,” Yang continued. “We expect your full cooperation in investigating the White Fang’s connection to any smugglers or other... individuals or organisations operating in Vale.”
The fox Faunus grinned. “We have been struggling in Mistral, haven't we, Lykos?”
The wolf Faunus nodded. “Indeed, we have, ma’am. With the authentication codes we would know what the Mistral intelligence services know... and we could show them what we wanted them to see.”
“Precisely.” The fox Faunus nodded. “Very well. I accept your proposal, Yang Xiao Long.” She extended a hand. “I am Oerba Dia Chione.”

Author’s Notes
Although Vanille’s business are all completely legal, she maintains a connection with the underworld, certain segments of which are operated by the Dia. Diana, likewise, also maintains such connections. Chione runs a range of clubs, restaurants, and other such venues throughout Vale and has other business, such as smuggling, bootlegging, and so on. Vanille knows her from her early days when sold bootleg booze to raise money. Chione helped her distribute it. Chione knows Diana since Diana’s drones are the most popular in the world. She has eyes and ears everywhere, and she is Vanille’s number one minion.
Although Yang doesn’t have strong connections to the underworld, she knows that Diana and Vanille do, and has asked Diana for a bit of help with chasing down leads on Blake’s behalf.
It helps that Diana and Vanille are exactly the kind of people you need to keep on your side. Vanille is probably the richest person on the planet and can drop a missile strike on you whenever she feels like it. Diana is one of the few people in Vanille’s intellectual timezone... and she is one of the most powerful people on the planet. Doing business with them and making friends out of them is way better than picking a fight.
Note that people like Chione don’t get into conflict with Roman since Roman is known to have powerful backers (although few are aware of his exact connection to Jihl). It’s enough that when Chione asked Vanille about it, Vanille said not to mess with Roman. As a courtesy, Roman also stay out of the way of people who are friendly with Vanille and the gang.

It isn't until Change of Mind that you really realize just how short staffed Minkowski's mission was.

I listened to Memoria this morning while getting ready for work which was a terrible decision cause it's difficult to put make up on while you're crying.
I just want to say the idea of Pryce inputting a core thought meant to tear Hera down, that runs every time she does anything, and the idea of "giving them my own voice" so the thought is indistinguishable from her own, really fuckin hits me in the mommy issues.
I think one of the coolest things they did with Hera as an A.I. was to create a computer metaphor for some aspects of human psychology; that a self-defeating thought is implanted in someone by another person that occurs at runtime every time.
That a small, single line of "code" recited subconsciously before every thing we do effects our whole systems.
That we need to know it's there to cope and work around it.
It's just very, very good. I like it a lot.

Wolf 359 is just so good I will never be over it. That whole sequence at the end of episode 28 when they've just pulled the Hephaestus station into a stable orbit, Eiffel is in Lovelace's shuttle detached from the station and drifting very slowly, and he convenes with Minkowski in the medical lab where he gets suddenly interrupted by Lovelace flatlining?
And after a moment of the drama of trying to get Lovelace's heart beating again, the last thing we hear from him is, "Diiiiiiiiid....... was thaaaaaaaaat......??" and then the shuttle explodes?
Just amazing.
I love the flow of the scene and the tension. I love the voice acting. I love that we're hit with two more crises while still exhausted from the cost of narrowly escaping the last one. It's a bunch of emotional beats all in a row.
I literally dream of being this good at writing.

I’m 25 episodes into Hello from the Hallowoods and I have decided I really like it. Here are some reasons why:
Lots of queer characters at lots of different ages and lots of different stages.
Some of the older characters are just beginning to engage with their queerness and it’s so sweet.
An asexual character!
I appreciate that the writer just threw in anything that seemed fun to them. Eldritch deities? Demons? Spirits? Doll zombies? Punk rock stars? Elemental mages? Capitalism trying to persevere after the apocalypse? Evangelism? All yes, and that’s goals tbh. I wish I could capture that energy.
Consistently the best openers I’ve ever heard.
Fuck, even the eldritch narrator is queer.
The particular way that death shows up as a theme here is really interesting. Death as a lingering consciousness, or a continuation, rather than an emptiness or an end.
Even though they’re mostly all the same voice actor and it’s basically the narrator reading a story to you, there are distinct enough voices for most of the characters that you can tell who is who even without the cues.
My fave audio drama villain archetype, the creepy evil boss, literally thinks she can take on an eldritch god and win. I’m so, so into it.
Water as giving life... especially after death.
Ahhh I recommend giving it a try if you like audio dramas.

My #1 post of 2022
Cutter's "recruitment" of Eiffel is such an interesting interaction because until this point, with the exception of Hera, everyone else's sign on has not been so deeply resisted.
Hera AND Eiffel are not thrilled to take Cutter's deal, in fact they really have no other choice.
But Eiffel's scene is the first time we've ever heard Cutter struggle to control someone. He doesn't have the same tools he had with Hera.
It's the first time we hear someone laugh at Cutter, set a hard boundary with him, and literally call him a motherfucker to his face!
I'm also trying to think if anyone else aside from Hera ever really caught on to Cutter. Eiffel literally likens him to Patrick Bateman (American Psycho).
And I really feel like Cutter's agitation is palpable in his silence before he cuts Eiffel off with, "okay, okay! before you say any more things I'm going to make you regret..."
Like, Cutter still successfully lands the hook by making promises about what Goddard can do about supporting his daughter, but THAT MOMENT OF PEAK TENSION!!!!!! And only after Eiffel has been bought into it does he fall in line with the hierarchy and switch to calling Cutter, "sir."

Queer headcanons in LGBT+ Fiction Podcasts
Disclaimer: I am still learning and I am human so I apologize in advance for the mistakes I make.
When the pandemic arrived I realize I was non-binary and that there wasn't that many representation in mainstream media to explore this part of my identity in a fiction realm. This led me to podcasts like "Welcome to Night Vale", "The Strange Case of Starship Iris" and "The Penumbra Podcast".
Though I know not all fiction podcasts feature queer main charaters, Wolf 359 being an example of this (we only meet Jacobi in S3 and in S4 he's still what I'll consider a secondary recurrent character). We listeners had began to see queer representation in the fiction podcast medium as the norm instead of the exception.
And that is amazing!
However with this little bubble of queer representation being the norm we need to think about how we interact with media. To be more straight -gasps- I am mainly talking about headcanons in relation to fan content and the discussions around characters' romantic, sexual and gender identity.
As queer people we have been condition by the media to project our identity in chararters with complete disregard for the canon. Which considering the amount of queer bating, coding and erasure, "What else were we meant to do?" For some this meant creating fiction podcasts with explicit queer representation, for others it meant listening to this podcasts.
However we sometimes make the mistake of taking the ways we interact with mainstream straight media and using them when interacting with queer media. Like "changing" the sexuality of our favorite characters when writing fanfiction about them.
There is a difference between a straight character and a queer charater when it comes to changing their sexual, romantic or gender identities. What is the difference? Mainly power imbalance. If you take lets say a "quote-on-quote" straight character and say "Nop, he's bisexual now". Go ahead, we got you. BUT if you have a gay character and someone says "That man is straight", all will be in outrage. Same with characters that are cis but the fandom declares are trans.
Everything good till this point.
BUT, what if a character is gay and someone says "No, I'm gonna headcanon them as bisexual". In my opinion, meanwhile you aren't making content about it, you do you. However if you are, here are some things to consider.
It puts the community against each other.
If the character is canonically gay and you make xem pansexual you could argue "Well gays get more rep than pan people," which is a truth but isn't the gays fault (most of the time). This puts the community against each other and in some ways can make a person's identity feel unvalid. Until we live in a world like where the queer agenda has been realize to its fullest, we got to stay mindfull of how we treat people's identities.
Miscommunication (misleading publicity)
Most of these podcasts are independent, made by sleep-deprived artists which are relying on YOU to promote their work, especially folks who do fanart (y'all have my heart for keeping this bubble expanding).
If you make a post of let's say Adam Hayes [gay character from the bright sessions] with a bisexual flag it might make people think Adam is bi when that is not the case, so if someone goes into the podcast looking for that bi rep and realized he isn't bisexual, it would be a downer at least. Is not queer bating of course but it is misinformation.
And yeah I know that bright sessions is one of the most popular podcasts with published books and spin-off shows however, I wrote this at night and is a character most people know, unlike Shinji [gay character from Desperado].
It might erase representation
I once read a fic in which one of my favorite non-binary characters was written as a binary trans woman even though there was trans women representation in the show. It was well written and told a very interesting take on the character but, it wasn't the character since being non-binary is part of who he was.
As I say at the begginig of this opinion article, I started listening to podcast because of my quest for non-binary representation and the fic made me feel like I had lose something. Even if the character is still banging the gender binary in canon, it make me wonder how feable are non-binary identities in the eyes of the public.
HOWEVER YOU CAN STILL PLAY WITH THE RAINBOW COLORS
What is straight? For me is someone who is this 3: cisgender, heterosexual and heteroromantic.
So in this case if you got a character who hasn't been told explicitly that is non-cis but more importantly that being cis does not inform their experience and how they interact with their other queer identities or doesn't misgender them [like with the case above] then I believe there is no harm in writing/drawing them as trans in fancontent.
-Valles Vicky : Non-binary Lesbian.
I personally think of Valles Vicky as a she/her non-binary sapphic. Which considering she is a dad like Juno is a lady I say that I got some argument here.
-Sapphic Demons
Another example is Belzagor [she/her character from Brimstone Valley Mall] . She's a very cool tech demon that lives in a queerphobic-free mall. There is a beautiful collection of fics where she is romantically paired with her other she/her counterpart Xaphan [demon of being exicted for everything]. Which makes sense in my book because all we know about her is that she uses she/her pronouns and is a god [sorta].
Pd. Misroch use your "Mom friend" powers and protect Belzagor from Hornblass in the next season. Yes? Thank you.
Now to the allo v.z. the ace part IS COMPLICATED [This whole section is to be fair].
-Caleb Michels is demisexual (and I die in this hill)
I am probably demisexual and so is Caleb [mlm character from the Bright Sessions]. He might also be demiromantic.
Why do I think I can say this?
Because it literally doesn't go against his queerness or identity. He likes boys and he still likes boys if he is demi. It doesn't detract from his identity, if anything I think it helps infrom it, and in the show there are so many instances that may me go you're demi. Or that how I justified it.
-Riley and Evelyn.
Another case is my favorite ghoul Riley [Non-binary and asexual character from Less is Morgue]. The only fics from this podcast (that I know of) is a trilogy about Riley being in a romantic relationship with their co-star Evelyn [Lesbian], which after hearing the frankestein episode I can understand the chemistry. I personally believe this characters to be in a QPR.
Riley is asexual but not aromantic (I think) so this two realities can coexist perfectly in a nice pizza delivery man. However there is an argument to be made about Evelyn being a lesbian and being portray in a relationship with a non-binary person, as I read the fic there was no misgendering of Riley thank Todd and Satan, so I take it as Evelyn's sexuality being somewhat misrepresented.
I am not a lesbian, so I don't actually get all the intersicracities of the identity. In my understanding is someone whose gender is woman or femme-aligned who feels atracction to woman or femme-aligned people. However Riley is agender, so in my limited knowdlege this is contradictory with the lesbian identity.
-Walt Pensive: Ace of Spades
Now lets talk about Walt Pensive, he is "uhhsexual" (asexual) and heteromantic.
Giving my previous cis/trans case someone could say "I declare him panromantic", but I don't think that is right. Walt being hetero informs his identity, he had a partner (girlfriend or wife? I can't remember) that die, and that of course has left him with some trauma. However, he also is ready to move on, he flirts with a woman and considers going on a date with her.
Personally I belive this can be a nice character for those who are heteromantic but queer in other ways can relate too. And adds another shade to the rainbow representation.
THIS IS AMAZINGLY COMPLICATED
To conclude, I love audio-dramas and have a tendency to over analyze everything.
Not joking though, there is a DIFFERENCE between changing the identity of a straight character and a queer one. Even more when we add the conversation between indie media v.z. mainstream and their access to marketing and how their story is presented to the general public.
That being said the rainbow has many colors and some identities (queer and less so) can coexist with one another, and in the best case inform them and make the character even more nuanced.
I belive giving this rise in queer representation, mainly in podcasts but other media too, this is a conversation we got to have to get all the nuances and the best answer there is.
Pd. Heteroromanitc aces and heterosexual aros are cool and valid. And Walt Pensive 😢, why Mx. William?

🤖 - Any non-human alters? (I know you told me that but I forgot sorry) 🌸 - Does anyone have a particular aesthetic?
🌻 - Any special interests?
OOPS JUST SAW THIS.
🤖 Yes! I can list them too.
Mike- Realistic humanoid robot fueled by a spirit
Cricket- Insomnia demon
Balek- Demon (formerly human)
Roxanne- Animatronic wolf
Ace- Shapeshifter
Michael- Fallen Angel
Cecil- Half Angel
Code- Literal computer code
Eef- We have no fucking idea what he is
🌸Yes, some of us share aesthetics but there are a few standouts. Roxanne prefers very bright saturated colors and both vintage and neon aesthetics. Foxy prefers old-timey pirate aesthetics. Burner is like. Steampunk/Cyberpunk mad scientist. Code likes specifically bright saturated greens and anything with that color. Honestly if someone wanted me to I could probably make aesthetic posts for each of them on my system sideblog. So I guess lmk if you want to see that.
🌻 The current list of long-standing special interests is: Markiplier Cinematic Universe, JSE Egos, Call of Duty Zombies, Twin Peaks, Unus Annus, Welcome to Night Vale, Phasmophobia, The Adventure Zone: Balance, Analog Horror, MFP National Park, FNAF, The Band Ghost, Twenty One Pilots, witchcraft, the paranormal, UrbEx, cryptids, space, dinosaurs, and Marble Hornets.

lyanna stark, a drop of the wolf-blood, & the pragmatism underneath
the youngest we see lyanna (in my estimation), is this vision from bran
Now two children danced across the godswood, hooting at one another as they dueled with broken branches. The girl was the older and taller of the two. Arya! Bran thought eagerly, as he watched her leap up onto a rock and cut at the boy. But that couldn't be right. If the girl was Arya, the boy was Bran himself, and he had never worn his hair so long. And Arya never beat me playing swords, the way that girl is beating him. She slashed the boy across his thigh, so hard that his leg went out from under him and he fell into the pool and began to splash and shout. "You be quiet, stupid," the girl said, tossing her own branch aside. "It's just water. Do you want Old Nan to hear and run tell Father?" She knelt and pulled her brother from the pool
- Bran III, ADWD
but four books earlier, we see this quote from ned:
Lyanna might have carried a sword, if my lord father had allowed it
- Arya II, AGOT
so we know that that ned was close enough to lyanna to know that she enjoyed swordplay, close enough to know her desires and to know that rickard would never accept this (for whatever reason).
...but not close enough to be the one she practiced sworldplay with in secret. the picture this paints is telling. lyanna was explicitly banned from something, and chose to pursue it in a secret and harmless way, with someone she trusted.
but ned isn't privy to that information. whether because he wasn't around, or because lyanna thought he would disapprove, or because he just thought it was childish - either way, we see that lyanna is picky about who she trusts, bred out of having to be sneaky in achieving her goals under her strict father's nose. she even identifies old nan as a snitch (et tu brute?). clever kid.
lyanna has other hobbies, too. she loves flowers. she loves riding horses.
"You ride like a northman, milady," Harwin said when he'd drawn them to a halt. "Your aunt was the same. Lady Lyanna. But my father was master of horse, remember."
- Arya III, ASOS
[Brandon] loved to ride. His little sister took after him in that. A pair of centaurs, those two.
- The Turncloak, ADWD
Horses … [Domeric] was mad for horses, Lady Dustin will tell you. Not even Lord Rickard's daughter could outrace him, and that one was half a horse herself.
- Reek III, ADWD
worth mentioning, imo, that even though lyanna was an excellent rider, she couldn't beat domeric. this is paralelled with arya, who is great on horseback, but not faster than harwin the son of winterfell's master of horse. this isn't a case of 'not like other girls' syndrome, of mary sues who are magically the best there ever was. conversely, adversity doesn't scare either of them off - lyanna was clearly competitive, with domeric and likely with brandon before him, and it all added up to her being remembered as a fantastic horserider despite effectively leaving the north at 14.
so lyanna is determined. she's willful, to hear ned say it.
then, of course, we have this
"Robert will never keep to one bed," Lyanna had told him at Winterfell, on the night long ago when their father had promised her hand to the young Lord of Storm's End. "I hear he has gotten a child on some girl in the Vale." Ned had held the babe in his arms; he could scarcely deny her, nor would he lie to his sister, but he had assured her that what Robert did before their betrothal was of no matter, that he was a good man and true who would love her with all his heart.
Lyanna had only smiled. "Love is sweet, dearest Ned, but it cannot change a man's nature."
- Eddard IX, AGOT
this seems fairly clear cut, but let's break down this conversation:
lyanna (told the news by the authoritative father; being approached by ned, the sibling who is best friends with the guy in question; thirteen years old): he will never keep to one bed. he has a bastard already, on a common girl he cannot marry which speaks to his character
ned: it isn't robert's actions that matter, it's his feelings. *crickets on lyanna's feelings*
now lyanna is thirteen. but she already recognizes that this is a losing battle. why? because she can't change robert?
no. because she cannot change the minds of rickard, or of ned.
there is no doubt in my mind that both these men loved her. but do they listen to her? clearly not.
lyanna doesn't bother to fight this fight she cannot win. she just smiles, realizing that rickard/ned are not going to hear her out on this, and gets the last word with "love does not change a man's nature."
this isn't the divide between lyanna and robert - this is the moment of divide between lyanna and ned. they're siblings who love each other, and love is sweet, but none of that changes that ned is on rickard and robert's side. it's a rough moment for a teenage girl. she was right earlier, she must realize - benjen is the brother she can trust.
so lyanna is determined, but she is pragmatic.
the next time we see lyanna, she's kicking ass at harrenhal.
[...]they heard a roar. “That’s my father’s man you’re kicking!” howled the she-wolf…
The she-wolf laid into the squires with a tourney sword, scattering them all. The crannogman was bruised and bloodied, so she took him back to her lair to clean his cuts and bind them up with linen.
- Bran II, ASOS
here is where lyanna really shines.
she has a moral code all her own, we already know this from her assessment of robert's child that differed from how catelyn views bastards disconnected from the home.
she dislikes bullies, which is fairly common (jaime hated bullies growing up, for example) but for some reason at this very moment, she also has a tourney sword in hand - why? well, because lyanna stark takes her opportunities when she has them. barred from swordplay? that's fine, dad, but when you're not looking is another story.
she doesn't go rushing in, nor does she ignore the scene. she watches long enough to see if howland can fight them off (he can't), giving her time to identify him as a crannogman - possibly even as a highborn crannogman. and then what does she do? she weighs her options, decides that she can probably beat the bullies, and does so. then she takes care of howland reed, picking him up like she picked benjen out of the water in bran's vision.
[T]here was to be a feast in Harrenhal, to mark the opening of the tourney, and the she-wolf insisted that the lad attend. He was of high birth, with as much right to a place on the bench as any other man.
- Bran II, ASOS
she claims his rights as a highborn lord to attend. he doesn't have clothes, nor does howland insist that he can go, but lyanna makes a reasoned argument that howland has every right to attend and that surely benjen can find him some clothes!
so lyanna is determined, pragmatic, and a problem-solver.
[T]he Knight of the Laughing Tree spoke in a booming voice through his helm, saying “Teach your squires honour, and that shall be ransom enough.” Once the defeated knights chastised their squires sharply, their horses and armour were returned.
- Bran II, ASOS
here, lyanna displays a trait that sets her apart. howland memorizes the face of his bullies. he wants to "revenge" himself on them. but lyanna does not go directly for the bullies, she challenges the lords to whom the bullies squire, and commands them to chastise their squires.
lyanna understands the chivalric system she lives in, and that she will not be listened to (how? her own father and brother don't listen to her!), so she figures out another way to get justice that plays on the very ideas of might & honor that exclude the weak. she is confident in her abilities (being experienced riding at rings), gathers up all the material she needs, and takes a calculated risk.
she manipulates the system, plainly. she plays the players at their own game and wins.
and she does it for a guy she met a few days ago.
lyanna is determined, pragmatic, a problem-solver, and ascribes to a moral code that is all her own, one that rejects societal hypocrisy.
You have a wildness in you, child. 'The wolf blood,' my father used to call it. Lyanna had a touch of it, and my brother Brandon more than a touch.
- Arya II, AGOT
so how do we square this away? lyanna was wolf-blooded. she was wild. she was untameable.
or was she?
any girl/woman with half a personality gets described as "spirited" or "willful" or "stubborn" in asoiaf. it's a polite of saying "hard to control." we see several times that lyanna takes a measured approach to matters. she is brave, yes, but she is also thoughtful and chooses her battles with the information she has. when she is denied something for no reason beyond her gender and status, she finds a way to pursue her interests regardless.
but robert is something lyanna can't avoid. and that had to rankle her, the betrothal she is determined to avoid, but pragmatically cannot due to her family's insistence. the marriage that goes against her moral code (i'm sure lyanna noted that robert gladly volunteered to capture the KOTLT, regardless of what punishment might be given down by a deranged aerys).
[i'm going to skip over her relationship with rhaegar, because there isn't enough/any text to analyze that explicitly deals with their dynamic post-harrenhal. speculation isn't the point of this post. suffice to say she saw in him something she did not in her family or robert.]
then aerys burns her father and brother.
could rhaegar have stopped aerys once he made up his mind? we as readers know the answer is no. grrm says so much himself, that it was aerys who kicked off the war in this interview:
The Mad King was mad. He was paranoid and violent and he was abusing his power... [Robert's Rebellion] was triggered by[...]the execution of Ned’s father and brother, it was the thing that radicalized, as we would have said in the 60s, Ned and it put him in opposition to it. Robert was just rolling for a fight and it might affect that he’d lost his girlfriend.
the absolute power of kings is continuously critiqued in the series.
so how did lyanna react? of course she grieved deeply. even if she knew that she would likely not see her family again for several years at least, for them to die in such a terrible manner is horrifying.
but lyanna has been forged into pragmatism. she looked at the squires beating up howland and saw that the issue was not the bullies, but the corrupt, lazy lords they squired for.
why would she not be able to see that aerys's abuse of power was what had killed her own family? she's realistic and she's a moral actor and she understands the social system around her. whatever her opinion on feudal lordship before, abuse of power has now killed two people she loved. only extrapolation can say how she would react, but given that we see her in similar situations - it is safe to say that the she understands the removal of aerys from power is a necessity, and that a king who is ruled by his urges is unfit.
[lyanna doesn't have the highest opinion of robert, does she? would she think him fit to be a king? doubtful.]
however, she also wants her family to be safe - a family which is now going to include her unborn baby.
[Ned] could hear her still at times. Promise me, she had cried, in a room that smelled of blood and roses. Promise me, Ned. The fever had taken her strength and her voice had been faint as a whisper, but when he gave her his word, the fear had gone out of his sister's eyes. Ned remembered the way she had smiled then, how tightly her fingers had clutched his as she gave up her hold on life, the rose petals spilling from her palm, dead and black
- Eddard I, AGOT
the promise she solicited from ned is to care for baby jon, presumably.
more importantly, in this final conversation, lyanna is putting all her trust in ned.
this moment is a tragic one, but it is also a cathartic one. whatever has happened, and there is plenty of difficulty between ned and lya at this point, they are putting that to the side and affirming what matters most: their love and loyalty to one another, not in service to house stark, or to any king or cause, but to each other as lyanna and ned.
ned didn't listen before, but he promises her now. lyanna didn't confide in him before, but she does now. yes she's on her deathbed, but this is powerful anyway. it's a healing moment for them both, one lyanna held on for even though by all means she could have trusted the kingsguard to whisk baby jon away earlier and succumbed to the pain.
lyanna doesn't spend her last moments begging for forgiveness or explaining herself. she spends her last moments trying to solve the problem of jon's safety, of her son's life. even at the end, she is determined that he will live.
she dies fearless. she smiles, maybe the same way she smiled in winterfell when ned told her robert would be a good husband and she saw the love in ned's words but not the respect. a bittersweet smile, because jon will survive but she won't see it.
"She should be on a hill somewhere, under a fruit tree, with the sun and clouds above her and the rain to wash her clean."
"I was with her when she died," Ned reminded the king. "She wanted to come home, to rest beside Brandon and Father."
- Eddard I, AGOT
this is our actual introduction to lyanna, when robert and ned initially visit her in the crypts. given everything we know, it's so fitting - robert is displeased with her gravesite. he never got what he wanted (his manic pixie dream girl </3), and even in death he doesn't like her grave.
lyanna was never the person robert projected her to be. in her crypt, she's still defiant against him/what he symbolizes. her determination, her wishes, her home, they all shine through.
But there were others with faces he had never known in life, faces he had seen only in stone. The slim, sad girl who wore a crown of pale blue roses and a white gown spattered with gore could only be Lyanna. Her brother Brandon stood beside her, and their father Lord Rickard just behind.
- Theon V, ACOK
in the end, lyanna's close to her family (even by their side in theon's dreams). she's close to brandon, rickard, ned, old nan, everyone she ever knew growing up, and most importantly: to jon. it's a romantic ending for a minor character, a character grrm clearly cherished when he wrote.
the point of this post is that i want to leave behind the idea of lyanna stark as this harbinger of tragedy. the woman who ruined every man who looked into her eyes (robert, ned, rhaegar) and is now turned to stone. lyanna stark isn't written as a cautionary tale, as a romanticized medusa - instead, her memory lives on in a son who doesn't know her but still loves her, in how the people she knew remember her for what she actually loved, and even in lyanna mormont (a fitting namesake). there's defiance and meaning in that.
i could never say it better, so have hélène cixous's banger to round out my thoughts on lyanna:
You only have to look at the Medusa straight on to see her. And she’s not deadly. She’s beautiful and she’s laughing.

targaryen’s seven | a Jonerys drabble
Tumblr media
A/N: I could not help myself and just threw down this Drabble. I  don’t want to post it on Ao3 just yet because is not a full one-shot nor is it going to be multi-chapter (in the near future, maybe one day I will come back to it) but thought you guys might like it.  Enjoy!
The wind bit at her exposed skin, cheeks pinking without any aide of blush or tint.  It whipped over her silver curls and braids, already pulled back taut from her face.  It would have chilled anyone’s bones, except hers.  Her bones were heated from the heavy thud of her heart against her breastbone, the rush of blood in her veins, and the fire raging inside her soul.  The fire which rose to sparkle in her lavender eyes, redden her plump and pursed lips, and thirsted for revenge.
In the dark winter in the North, far beyond the everlasting lights and skyscrapers of King’s Landing, the craggy peaks of the Vale, and the marshy flats of the Riverlands, no one walking by on the quaint lantern-lit light posted street with its cozy restaurants, pubs, boutique hotels, and little shops devoted to preserving the heritage of the Realm’s largest, sparsest, and remotest kingdom.
The woman standing against one of these lightposts, her hands in the pockets of her designer black trenchcoat, hardly paying attention to the bustle of people.  There were locals intermixed with tourists—it was the Dawn Festival soon—going from building to building, stopping to take photos in front of silly little cardboard cutouts of ice zombies and Northmen.
Only a few stopped in their tracks to glance at her, for she stood out among the darkness and the cold snow, her silver hair a moonlit beacon, her entire demeanor that of someone who should not be trifled with nor confronted.  One glance of her purple eyes and they were on their way, bewitched almost to forget she was even there to begin with.
She lifted her left wrist up to peer at the heavy silver men’s wristwatch, ticking softly under the wail of the wind.  Daenerys Targaryen tsked under her breath.  “He’s late,” she murmured.  She supposed it was silly to think he would actually honor her summons.  He would not be coming then.
Well I suppose I will have to go looking for him.
Her heavy black combat boots crunched under the fresh snows, hands returning to her pockets, walking slowly down the sidewalk.  The last time she was here had not been pleasant.  The Northern History Museum had been far more difficult to crack than she’d originally planned.  She had barely made it out of there with the silver wolf circlet she’d broken in to steal.  Retrieve, she preferred, even if the authorities had different views on the matter.
The silver wolf circlet allegedly belonged to a Northern queen, who rebelled against the kingdoms and ultimately died of starvation when all her allies abandoned her. It was exceptionally expensive and the funds of which now had been siphoned into a series of orphanages the Northern government had been sorely neglecting.
Her walk took her from the local streets a bit farther off the beaten track, the lamps extinguished or nonexistent, the people fewer and fewer, until she was the only one on a darkened street.
Dany paused in front of a pub, glancing down at her phone.  A message from her hacker—Missandei—informed her his cell phone had been pinging from that location an hour ago.  She glanced up, smirked at the worn sign-- The Wildling -- hanging on one hinge.  It was not for charm, but because the owner no doubt didn’t care about it.  Perfect.
She entered the pub, which suddenly went quiet.  Everyone stared at her.  Dany reached up to pull at one of the buttons on her coat, her smile amused, gaze sweeping from one end to the other of the less than desirable establishment.  She was not a local, she should not be there, but she did not care, purposefully striding towards the ancient bar, where a gigantic man with thick red beard and wild eyebrows surveyed her with bright blue eyes.
“Ale please,” she ordered, sweet.
The man chuckled.  “You’re not from around here.”
“Nope.”
“You lost?”
Dany smiled, taking another look over her shoulder at the clientele, all of whom were still staring at her. She met the man’s gaze again, shaking her head.  “Nope.”
They looked at each other, unblinking, for what seemed like several minutes, but was only a couple.  A boom of laughter finally broke their silent pissing contest, the man slapping his dustbin lid sized hand on the bar, pointing at her, grinning darkly.  “I like you.”  He reached under the bar for a pint.  “Attitude like that, first one’s on me.”
“I was hoping you could pass something along for me to one of your regulars.”
“Can’t say anyone you know would be in my pub,” the man said.  He set her pint glass full of darkened ale.  He grinned again.  “But try me.”
Dany slipped her fingers into one of the inner pockets of her coat, removing a slim black box.  She set it down on the bar, pushing it with one red manicured finger towards him.  Another enigmatic smile did the trick. “This is for Jon Snow.”
The entire pub might as well have gone on mute.
The jovial bartender immediately hardened, those twinkling blue eyes now chips of ice.  He was gruff.  “Don’t know a Jon Snow.”
“I think you do Tormund Giantsbane.”  Dany climbed off her stool, took a long pull from the ale glass, and wiped the foam from her upper lip.  The gruffness of the bartender dropped like a mask at her sudden use of his full name.  She liked to stun them.  It was fun that way. She turned, calling over her shoulder.  “Put it on his tab.”
The heavy oak door swung closed behind her with a deafening thud.  Dany liked the taste of that ale, making a note she would have to return if she was ever in the mood for it again.  She tugged her phone out, now a message from her ghost, warning her that this was a bad idea and they should try some other way.
Barristan had said the same thing.  So had Daario.  Grey and Gendry might have also agreed, if Missy and Arya hadn’t been as forceful as they had with their displeasure.  Sometimes it was bothersome to have members of a team fucking, but Dany accepted the two couples because they worked well together and did not usually let their personal issues bleed into the world.
Plus they all had reason for this job.  Well, not Daario, but he would do anything she asked because he was in love with her.
They all tried to convince her to get someone else.  There were plenty who would kill to be a part of her team.  To join them in this endeavor.  No one else would do, she told them, calm and quiet.
It had to be him.
She returned to her car, parked in a community lot near the main square, and paid the exorbitant parking fee, even if it probably would have been easier to just use one of Missandei’s contraptions to hack her way out of the 15 stags.  She drove off, humming along to a silly pop song playing from whatever radio station had been on when she picked up the car at the Winterfell International Airport.
Ah Winterfell, so many memories.  The castle loomed large over the city that bore its name.  It was a museum now, even if the Stark family still retained some ownership of it.  Somewhere on the other side in more modest accommodations a few of the Stark family still lived.
The Starks weren’t as big as they once were.  They were desperate for cash.  All they had were their titles, such as they were.  Dany thought about Arya Stark, her ghost, who technically bore the honorific Lady, but if you thought of calling her that you would get a knife in the gut.  It was part of her reason for taking this job.
They all had reasons and now she just needed the final player in the game.
In lieu of a hotel, as much as she would like someone to pull back her linens and prepare a fire for her when she turned in for the evening, she rented out a luxury cabin several miles away.  It afforded her privacy, stunning views, and a large sunken tub.  Dany liked a sunken tub.
She parked, walked up to the front door, and smiled to herself at the threshold.  So obvious. She slipped in the key and entered, turning to plug in the code for the alarm panel.  When she turned back, she slipped off her coat, and walked into the large stone paneled living room, with its great fireplace—already crackling—and mountain filled wall of windows.
“Hello Jon.”
The chair before the fire turned, revealing its occupant, who sat rather bored, legs crossed and fingers tapped against his temple.  He looked the same as ever, she thought, if not better.  Dark raven curls, wild around his face, which had been chiseled from marble.  Dark beard dusting over his jaw and upper lip, his gray eyes black in the shadow of the fire.  All black ensemble, which she knew hid a body that was as chiseled as his face.  Smooth planes and sharp edges, he was a masterpiece.
And he was deadly.
The gray eyes glinted, just a hint of red.  Could have been from the fire, or it could have been something else.
Her smile peeled over her teeth.  “My white wolf,” she purred.
Jon Snow smiled in return, although it did not meet his eyes, rather cold, as cold as the storm that began outside, the faintest hints of howling wind sounding.  “Daenerys Targaryen,” he said, in his rumbling Northern burr.  He kept smiling, until he wasn’t.
And then he was at her throat, his fingers digging into the slim column, tilting up her jaw, his breath mingling with hers, warm and raspy.  Her eyes threatened to roll back into her head and her body ignited, fire consuming her.  He barely touched his mouth to hers, barely breathing.  “I thought I said I would kill you the next time I saw you.”
Now it was her turn to smile.  She lifted her hand, his eyes rolling down to it.  The cold steel of her dragonhead knife was against his jugular.  Even if his thumb was pressing down on her carotid, threatening to cut off her oxygen, she knew he wouldn’t.  Just like he knew she wouldn’t kill him.  Draw blood maybe, but she could never kill him.  “Darling, I think you forgot, it was I who said that.”
“Hmm.”  He drew in her scent, nostrils flaring, and eyes going red again.  The wolf, she noted, her skin prickling, and her body straining towards him.  Not to break free, but to join him. There would be time for that later. His thumb dragged over her bottom lip and she darted her tongue out to touch it.  He groaned, his nose pushing to hers, laugh deep in his chest.  “You came looking for me.”
“I will always come looking for you.”
“I don’t want it.”  His dark brows arched, the feral wolf flickering over his features again, hiding his obvious desire for her.  She bucked her hips against him, reminding him.  He laughed.  “Peace offering, huh?”  He immediately let her go and flicked the box towards her.  He growled.  “You stole that from me.”
“And I’m giving it back.”  She opened the box, revealing the white wolf head pommel from the ancient Valyrian sword he kept in one of his many safehouses.  She sighed.  “I realized that it really belongs with you.”
“No, you realized no one would buy it.”
She shrugged, flicking the box towards him and he caught it one-handed, setting it down on a table behind him.  “Po-tay-toe, Po-tah-toh.”
“I’m not joining you again.”
Ire flared, her eyes darkening to indigo.  “I am no longer asking you nicely.”
“Funny was that what it was when you tried to kill me?”
Of course he would bring that up.  She waved her hand dismissively.  “It was an accident.”
Jon dragged the collar of his shirt down, pointing at a knife scar on his collarbone.  “That is not an accident!”
“Oh yeah, well you stole from me!”
Now it was his turn to shrug it off.  “That money needed to go to the Night’s Watch,” he mumbled, arms crossing over his chest.
They squared off against each other.  This was not how she planned it to go, but nevertheless.  She narrowed her eyes on him, staring.  He stared back.  No one blinked.  Until they were at each other, grappling, tugging, and tearing at each other, mouths a frenzied clash of tongues and teeth.  She drew his tongue in between her lips to slide along hers, moaning into his mouth when his large hands slipped from her shoulders to cup the sides of her breasts, straining in their cashmere sweater cage.  She lifted herself against him, remembering every feel of him, every dent and ridge of muscle, every nervous quiver, and every bump and drag of scars.
He tore from her first, a hand tangled in her immaculate braids, fingers digging into the ridge of her skull, and another on her hip, holding her to him.  “The answer is still no,” he whispered.
Dany shook her head, whispering.  “You haven’t heard my proposition.”
“I’m out.”
“Even when I tell you the mark?”
He shook his head again, although she knew him.  She’d known him since they were teenagers, misfits and unwanted, trying to scrap by on their wits and wiles.  They had bled together, fought together, fucked and almost died together.  They’d gone to jail together.  She nibbled his lower lip again and he flinched, barely, but she felt it. He still wants to know. “No,” he repeated.
“Yes.”
“I don’t want it.”
She cocked her head, her fingers smoothing over his cheek, dropping to cover his heart with her palm.  Eyes steady, breath even, she smiled again.  “I need my second Jon.  I need my partner.”
They all wanted her to bring in someone else.  Even someone she might have worked with in the past, none of them matched to the trust she had with Jon Snow.  He was her equal, the one she could trust above all else, the one who knew her deepest and darkest fears and desires.  Jon Snow came from nothing like she had and built himself up.  He was the only one she would ever feel comfortable doing this job with.
There was also the fact that she was still in love with him.
Trivial thing really, she lied to herself.
Whatever they said about him, she didn’t believe it.  He was out, he was done, he’d gone straight…all lies.  He was just like her.  They were wild, they could not be tamed, and he could never settle for a boring law-abiding life.
The irony of Jon Snow was he was the most honorable criminal she had ever met.
“No.”
Now it was time for the final play.  Her other hand cupped his head and fingers twirled with his hair at the base of his neck.  “Even if I tell you that we’re going for the Targaryen crown and dragons?”
His dark eyes lifted to hers, his breath stilled.  He said nothing.
Her tongue dabbed her upper lip, her pupils dilating wide, smile curving again.  “The crown and the eggs will all be in a single location, for the Conquering Day Celebration, and Tywin Lannister himself will be there, to give a speech, to commemorate the day.  Robert Baratheon, Cersei Lannister, and that little fucker Tyrion will all be in attendance.”  She brushed her nose over his, whispering.  “Can’t you feel it Jon?  That wolf inside your heart?  The one howling?  What does he want?”
She knew what it wanted, just like he did.  All she needed was for him to say it.
Jon closed his eyes, shivering, and his arms tightened around her.  “Revenge,” he murmured.  He didn’t need to say it but draining the Lannisters of their stolen riches would also be a bonus.
“Exactly.”
He gazed down at her, lips dropping to hers again, and she knew it.  She knew before he even whispered the words to her, before he kissed her and before they decided to start talking terms.
“When do we start?”

So to recap briefly, the heroes made it Atlas! But they are now going to jail! Is that the fastest that everything has gone wrong in a volume? Anyways! We’re now going from the grimy city of Mantle, to the so-called utopia in the sky. What will happen now? Will our heroes become jailbirds and we get the RWBY rendition of Jailhouse Rock? Or will ironwood be able to bail them out… although if he does, I still would love a RWBY version of Jailhouse Rock. Someone tell Jeff Williams to get on that! But I guess we better answer the question, so to the review!
Overview
Tumblr media
Atlas personnel are airlifting RWBYJNRQO to Atlas along with some random guy. As Nora tries to chew her way out like I do when I can’t get a bag of chips open, Jaune complains about how easily they got taken down with Weiss confirming that the Ace-Ops are Ironwood’s specialized forces. This catches random guy’s, who the credits reveal is named Forest, attention. He’s surprised since, in his own words, they are Ironwoods personal attack dogs so them going after anyone is kind of a big deal. He himself got arrested for protesting about the mistreatment of Mantle… well okay, it was because he threw a brick at a ship, but same deal! But from him, we learn of a woman named Robyn Hill and the Happy Huntresses, who are graduates of Atlas who stayed in Mantle to defend the people and try to make those people’s lives better. Robyn’s fighting for a seat on the council to end Ironwood’s ‘tyranny’. Weiss questions that last bit as dramatic, with Forest calling her out for living a cushiony life due to being a Schnee. To which Weiss can only reply that she isn’t anymore.
Things take a turn, however, as the gang isn’t taken to jail. Instead, they are taken to Atlas Academy. As they’re taken inside, Ruby isn’t sure what to do but says that they should be careful with that they say and Blake says that they’ll all follow her lead. Everyone is led to Ironwood and, to the surprise of Weiss, Winter. Oh, and Penny’s there too! Yay!!!  Winter has the guards free them, or she will start hurting them. Ironwood apologizes as he leads everyone into his office, having assumed that the ship was stolen… and Ruby confirms that’s the case. Winter gets angry due to how dangerous and irresponsible that was… but she’s stopped when Weiss hugs her. Weiss explains that they had to, to which Winter calms down and hugs back. Aww~ That being said, she’s not happy that Qrow allowed it, which leads us to the topic at hand. Qrow says that they have confidential intel to give… but to his and everyone’s surprise, both Penny and Winter are fully aware of the Relics and Maidens. Yep, Ironwood told them as well as Ace-Ops, but he does have a reason.
Tumblr media
He explains that when Oz died, he had to formulate his own plans in order to ensure Atlas’ safety against Salem. Ace-Ops gave him the Relic of Knowledge after the arrest, with the Staff of Creation safely sealed in the Vault and the Winter Maiden is in stable condition. But now we get to the topic of Atlas’ current image due to the Embargo, the troop recall, the closed-off borders, and as the teens point out, the discourse and poor treatment of Mantle. This makes Ironwood look… well, bad, and he knows it. But again, he explains the reason why. Remember Amity Colosseum? The location for the Vytal Festival? Well, the plan is to turn it into essentially a satellite and with its launch, they can re-establish global communications and as such, even if another CCT were to fall then they can avoid that issue again. Which… is a good thing! It is a huge handicap for everyone across Remnant that locks them from the rest of the world, and fixing that is a very good idea. The problem? Well…
The second part of the plan is to go public about Salem. Let me repeat: the plan is to GO PUBLIC about SALEM. You see the problem with that, right?! Well, this is why Ironwood has his troops on high alert. He knows that this will cause mass panic and thus mass Grimm attacks. So he has all of his forces on standby to be ready when all Hell breaks loose. After everything is secure, then he’ll go global with the reveal. Essentially, Ironwood thinks that keeping the fight secret is now outdated, especially after the Fall, and as the title suggests, it’s time for a new approach. With Ozpin not there to guide them, Ironwood is doing what he feels is best despite knowing how many lives that Oz spent keeping the secret.  It’s at this point, however, that they reveal that Oscar is the new Ozpin. He’s happy to hear this and begins to express this to Oz… until Oscar breaks it to him that Oz is currently gone. Which naturally gets Ironwood to question how that is.
Tumblr media
Before Oscar can say anything, Ruby steps in and answers the question… by saying that after the train crash, he was just gone. Nothing about Jinn. Nothing about Salem and Oz’s history. Nothing about Salem’s immortality. Oz was just gone, and they don’t know the reason why. When pushed about what Oz said about the Relics, she says what Oz originally told them; that the questions had all been used up, which she fully well knows is not the case. Ironwood seems to accept this and assures Oscar that he’s safe in Atlas. He then gives Ruby back the Relic of Knowledge as a sign of trust before offering the resources of the Atlas Military to help get the gang upgraded and ready for the fight ahead.
Everyone is free to go, and they briefly encounter the Ace-Ops. Clover apologizes for what happened earlier and that he and the others are looking forward to fighting alongside them. We also get to see and hear the other four and the credits reveal their names as Elm Ederne, Marrow Amin, Harriet Bree, and Vine Zeki. Harriet seems to be clearly based on The Hare from Tortoise and the Hare and Marrow could be one of many things since Aesop had a lot of wolf-inspired stories. But due to his brief fib about not looking forward to working with the team, I’ll say The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Not 100% sure about Elm and Vine, though there is a fable called The Elm and the Vine so that could be the inspiration, but we’ll see when we learn more about them. As Penny goes to give the gang a tour, despite their exhaustion and just wanting to go to bed… and not being pleased that they have to stay in dorms like the Beacon days, Ironwood stops Qrow. Why? Just to tell him that he is genuinely happy to see him again. He even hugs him! Aww~ Hopefully, THAT won’t lead to anything horrible later!
Speaking of horrible, remember in V6 when Tyrian revealed that he and Watts were being sent to Atlas? Weeeeellllll…
Tumblr media
We cut to Watts, a suitcase with who knows what in hand, walking through Mantle during a rainy evening. He and Tyrian are using mobile communications since being in one location makes it easier for them to be found out. He seems to have full control over the security tech of Mantle since unlike Atlas, the coding is never updated and we learn that he helped write said coding. He demonstrates this by knocking out the cameras and we end with Tyrian (with his fancy V4 coat back!) exiting a building. He walks away, a pool of blood spilling out from the cracks, and the cameras fail to see the man who caused it. A dark sign of what’s to come…
Review
HO BOY, do we have a LOOOT to talk about. So, we’re not gonna waste any time. Let's talk about Ironwood and his current plan.
Tumblr media
Let's weigh both sides here. On the one hand, Ironwood’s plan… makes sense. At least logically. The plan to use Amity Colosseum to reestablish global communications is a sound one, and is something that should be done. Doing so could also help clean up Atlas’ tarnished image after all the recent decisions and after being painted as the bad guys at the Fall of Beacon. His plan about going public also does have a legitimately good point. What has keeping the fight secret solved? All they’ve ever been able to do is push Salem back, never stop her. The people deserve to know what’s actually happening, especially after the Fall where many got killed because of it. Ironwood is keeping it secluded to Atlas first and needs his forces ready for the fallout as well as all the ammo and safety precautions needed. It explains the Embargo. It explains the police state. It explains the closed borders. You can look at all of Ironwood’s actions, and it makes sense when you look at his plan. Chaos is going to break out, and he has to be ready for it.
But, of course, we have the other hand. For one, he’s depriving other kingdoms of safety and resources due to his actions, making it harder for them to protect themselves. And even then, Mantle is being treated like garbage, even though Ironwood should also be keeping them safe instead of acting like a dictator. Even if he accepts that as a necessary evil, there are better ways to help Mantle without making them terrified or feel like lower class. We saw last chapter that even children are fighting back against the drones and hanging up political posters. Children. That… is not a state that any city should be in. As Qrow said, they don't need the whole military for the Amity Colosseum, and there are better ways to prep troops without causing panic. Ironwood did this at the Fall when the Vale Council gave him control, and he had a huge army set out. The result? Well… I don’t think I need to recap that. He is doing the exact same as before, but without anyone there either capable or willing to talk back against him.
Tumblr media
But now we get to the public plan. This is a horrible plan. As they said in V3, this breaks pretty much everything that the world ever knew and is going to cause mass panic. IDC if the army is ready for it, they are severely underestimating the results of this decision. Ones that are going to cost the kingdom. Badly. Like… brink of destruction levels of badly. Plus again, Ironwood is doing exactly what he did the last time. He’s opening the floor up for the exact same results. Even if they updated their coding, Watts will likely find a way through it. Look at how easily he did it in V3 with the virus he supplied Cinder. The same thing is bound to happen again, only this time I highly doubt that they’re going to get things under control until… well, there’s nothing left to take back.
This is insanely risky. Too risky. Now, could there be a way to break the news to the world without the same risks? I don’t know. But I do know that this is the wrong way to do it. It has too much room for error and doesn’t take into account any of the things that went wrong so badly last time. Then again, with Ironwood’s paranoia, who knows what else is going on that he just hasn’t said yet? Trust seems to be the theme of this volume, and Ironwood seem willing to give the gang his. But… IDK. Something feels off. There are some theories going around about him using the hug to bug Qrow, or bugging the Relic. IDK if I belive that, but I’m not ruling it out either. Maybe he does trust them, but the ‘what-ifs’ are too much in his mind and he can’t help himself. After all, as he said in V4, Oz didn’t listen to him. What’s going to stop anyone else from doing the same?
Tumblr media
This is why I don’t blame Ruby for lying. Anyone can tell that Ironwood is on edge. How dangerous and reckless his current plans are. Ruby’s in no real position to argue, nor does she likely have an argument. So the best thing to do, until she can think of something better, is to go along with it and try to help the people. Yes, she is lying as Ozpin did. Some have argued how she didn’t technically lie since the train crash did happen and she did tell Ironwood what Ozpin told them, just as he asked. But it’s STILL not being truthful. She’s telling half-truths. She’s giving answers that she knows are false. Now I will say that this isn’t exactly like with Oz. Ruby is only lying to Ironwood and has a valid reason to do so, along with having very little time to think of much else. As she said before going in, they had to be careful with what they said, and she was. Oz lied and it wasn’t without reason, but he did so even without reason and to the people risking their lives for his quest that he didn’t explain the full extent of. Plus unlike Ruby, Oz had years to master the facade. Ruby had to make a split-second choice, and she was clearly uncertain about it in her body movement and in Lindsay’s performance. There is a big difference in this instance and in Ozpin’s instances.
But it’s a slippery slope, isn’t it?
Tumblr media
No matter how much you justify it, it’s still lying. It’s doing the same thing that they called Oz out for in V6. I’m not calling Ruby a hypocrite though. Why? Because them doing this? This is a good thing. This is what I wanted to happen. Ruby is now the leader. She has to make difficult choices and face the consequences due to said choices. Previously, she only lead Team RWBY and she didn’t have to make many hard choices then. With Team RNJR, it was more or less the same except not as much since it wasn’t her team technically and when Qrow and Oz came into the picture, she didn’t have to make choices at all. She did as she was told because those who supposedly knew what they were doing were there, But then they were either gone or incapable of doing the job, so she stepped up and despite the setbacks, got them to Atlas with minimal consequence. I mean we just saw here that Ironwood let them free, so that solves that issue.
That’s not going to be so easy now. These choices are going to cause problems. Maybe Ironwood will find out on his own or if he did infact bug them. Maybe Ruby or someone else like Oscar will tell him the truth and he takes it badly. Maybe Ruby says nothing, and it leads to a disaster that she could have prevented if she had spoken up. No matter what route the show goes down, Ruby is about to get another harsh reality lesson, and that is how difficult leadership can be. This isn’t like at Beacon where if she messed up, they could solve it easily. No, this time she’s part of something much more complicated. She has to make the choices that Oz has had to make for centuries. I think that this will help her see where Oz is coming from and allow them to reconcile, but also allow Ruby to see where Oz went wrong and better herself. She’s not just going to understand Oz, but she’s going to become better than Oz. But that’s going to come with a lot of hardship, and it is something that she will have to deal with. Not just with herself, but chances are, with her team as well…
Tumblr media
Okay, that’s enough on harsh and complicated topics. This is our general set-up episode, and it does a very good job! We have the plan for the arc established, setting up Amity Colosseum for launch and in the meantime doing work around Atlas and Mantle with Ace-Ops. We get to see Atlas Academy, and it looks gorgeous. We get to properly see Winter again, and Weiss hugging her just melted my heart. Makes me worry about later considering Winter’s loyalty to Ironwood and Weiss clearly not liking what’s happening, but still, I’ll take the happy for now. Penny was a delight, especially with the tour, which excellent animation there! Man, it’s just a joy to have her back~! Forest was fun and we learn about Robyn Hill and her group from him, which will likely come into play later. Especially since we can confirm that she’s going up against Jaques for council. That’s… gonna be interesting, to put it lightly.
This was Kiersi Buckhart’s first episode as a writer, and she nailed it! The exposition wasn’t boring and the characters felt very strong here, Ironwood especially. You know that he’s making bad choices, but the writing makes you understand why and that and Jason Rose’s’ performance as Ironwood was genuine with his views. I could understand all of these decisions, even if I don’t agree, and that’s what makes for good and compelling drama. It was strong in the character department and the pacing, os good job Kiersi! Connor Pickens directed the episode, and it looks excellent! Especially for all the camera angles as Watts walks through Mantle. Like when he steps into a puddle with the reflection of Ironwood on screen? Excellence!. Great job Connor~!
Tumblr media
Speaking of that scene though… yeah, that was dark. No idea who Tyrian killed, maybe some kind of informant or something that's no longer needed. But man, what a grim (no pun intended) scene to end on. But it establishes the threat very well. Tyrian we all know is not a force to be taken lightly. But neither is Watts. He did his job in Mistral perfectly, and that only failed because of Cinder taking control and keeping Watts out of it after the new plan was made. But he’s the one in charge now and he is in his wheelhouse now. He has control over Mantle’s security, and if he could break Atlas’ before, he can probably do it again. And remember the Election Map that he had in the opening. IDK what the plan is, but with Watts heading it, it's gonna be bad. Add that with Tyrian, and we indeed have a lethal combination. Will our heroes be able to stop it? Only time will tell…
Chapter Three Predictions
Tumblr media
It’s all but guaranteed that this is when we’ll get the new outfits, the haircuts, ad the new gear. It’ll probably be a bit of a lighter episode and maybe allow some nice character stuff and maybe even see the Ace-Ops more or see more around the Academy. But I do think that Ruby may have a bit of conflict as a follow-up to here. Remember the line in the trailer about her being uncertain about if the best thing is right? Well… IDK who she was talking to. Could be Oscar. Could be her team. Could be Qrow. IDK, but I imagine that it may very well bein this episode. Either someone confronts her (which judging by his expressions might be Oscar) or someone sees that something is wrong and get her to talk. Maybe it’s even part of some talk where Ruby expresses her uncertainty but tries to get spirits lifted and ignore her own conflicts as she normally does. Either scenario is possible.
Still, I imagine that it will be a lighter episode with some fun hijinks and maybe some emotional like Blake getting her haircut… or hilarious if they play up Jaune’s horrible haircut. Maybe we could get a bit of a glimpse into stuff with Robyn and the election or we see the Schnees again or something else. I think that it might end with the scenes in the trailer of the girls jumping out of the plane, ready for a mission, and it will lead to the scenes of everyone fighting in the mines that’ll cross into Chapter 4. Either way, as I said, we’re at least guaranteed the upgrades next volume and those are gonna be fun~! I can’t wait~!!!
Episode Stats
Tumblr media
Favorite Character: Ruby Rose  Favorite Scene: Penny’s Tour Least Favorite Scene: The airlift to Atlas, the lighting looked kinda off to me… Forest was a delight though. Favorite Voice Actor: Jason Rose (James Ironwood) Favorite Animation: Final scene in Mantle. The camera angle when Watts is walking through Mantle in the rain were amazingly done, especially with Ironwood's reflection in the puddle. Final Ranking: 9/10
Final Thoughts
This chapter was fantastic! It’s a setup episode done very well. We learn all that we need to know for now, and it works with strong character personalities. It was funny, it was heartwarming, but most of all it was intense. THere’s a lot of good, compelling drama here and sets up so much for later on with Ruby, Ironwood, the villains, and the plans for Atlas. There’s a lot that’s coming, and if it’s already this intense then I can’t imagine how the remaining 11 chapters are gonna be. But I’m ready for it… I hope… still, great chapter!

Look! A multi-purpose long-form post!
I’ve been thinking that, in this new decade, it might be interesting to try some new things. One thing that I thought might be interesting was trying out the whole collaborative writing thing. I don’t really know anyone in the writing sphere so even if I don’t end up finding a fun writing partner for whatever reason it might be nice to meet a few people regardless.
The other thing is that I have a ton of fic ideas, but you all know I’m not a very prolific writer, so there’re all just stagnating in my docs. I don’t really have the patience to weed out the ones with substance and make some sort of prompt list on AO3 or whatever, so I’m just going to throw out all the categories and if anyone is curious just hit me up. (That goes for collab and prompts.) Two stories are better than one, and one story written by someone else is better than an idea rotting on my laptop because I’m lazy.
I have a bad history with Discord, but if anyone manages to successfully add me on there then feel free to do that as well if you want to talk about anything at all. My username is darkakumahunter#8032
Harry Potter Crossover Fandoms:

And then obviously there are some Harry Potter fics that aren’t crossovers (that’s the real shocker let’s be honest here).
A lot of the ideas veer more towards one or two line throwaway thoughts, but some of them have more substance. And people with more creativity than me might be able to take those one-liners and find inspiration for something. Who knows. I just feel bad whenever I look at my ideas document because I know I’m never going to write them all.

You know, I have seen people just equate Aegon the Conqueror with William the Conqueror and leave it at that.  But really besides “the Conqueror” there’s nothing that much in common with them.  The Targs changed some things, but culture wise not really (nobody was embracing incest as a proper practice…), but the Normans did.  Of course there’s similarities, but nothing personal.  Like looks, animal motifs, and values etc.  William the Conqueror actually has more in common with Jon Snow (whose real name is Aegon in the show).  There’s might be something about this on here, but I haven’t seen it.  So sorry if it’s been said before.  Also this isn’t directed at you.  I just like reading your blog and wanted to share my musings with you.  XD  I really couldn’t get it out of my head…
William was the Duke of Normandy.  Normandy meaning Northman Land.  Because it was created (as a gift from the French king) by Rollo and his group of Vikings who were also known as Northmen.  They married French women and with their children created the Normans.
Jon is of the Northmen only because of his mother and his uncle raising him.  There is no Northern association of any kind for the Targs.  The Targs don’t even look like what little has been recorded about the Normans.  William’s son Henry I was said to have had black hair.  The only thing I can really think of that is similar is the Normans were clean shaven and didn’t have beards.  But Vikings are famous for them and Normans were descended for them.
William the Conqueror was also called William the Bastard.  And it bothered him.  He could act rather impulsive when that got flung at him.
Jon was also bothered by his bastard status.  We all know about that.
Much is talked about how William the Conqueror conquered England, but he also had to fight for his own home, Normandy.  He became the duke at a young age due to his father (who ruled after his elder brother’s death) having died abroad.  Needless to say there were other people whose eyes were on Normandy.  3 of William’s guardians were killed and there is stories of how William had to be hidden.  A rebellion broke out and William had to flee and he took refuge with the French king, Henry I, his future uncle-in-law.  The French king then helped William reclaim his home.
Jon, of course, along with Sansa, had to fight for Winterfell.  They had help from the Wildlings and the Mormonts, but they would have lost without the Knights of the Vale.  And yeah, Danii is trying to reclaim the Iron Throne, but it’s not the same.  Unlike Danii, William was raised in Normandy and was made the duke.  The Norman nobles acknowledged the ducal authority and he was always supported and despite wars he was not overthrown with another replacing him as the Duke of Normandy (never officially).  Yeah, the Boltons did replace the Starks for a time, but they were never truly accepted by the Northmen.
William was described as being a fighter and a horseman without equal.  He was strong enough to draw bows that others were unable to and he had great stamina.
Well, everyone knows Jon’s ability as a fighter.  And of course being a great horseman makes one think of his mother, Lyanna.
And now I come to one of the reasons William the Conqueror is one of my fave historical figures.  He LOVED his wife Maud(or Matilda) of Flanders and she loved him (they were also cousins).  They had a successful and affectionate marriage with 9 or 10 children.  William was faithful to her and didn’t have any bastards.  There’s a legend (probably not true) that when William proposed marriage to her via a messenger (naturally it started as a political alliance) Maud was said to have refused by saying she was too highborn to marry a bastard.  Insulted, William rode over (the destination depends on the version and one is her own home) and threw her to the ground by her braids and then rode off.  Maud’s father, was of course outraged and for the insult he was going to war against William.  But before swords could be drawn Maud stopped it by refusing to marry anyone, but William.
Of course us Jonsas believe that Jon and Sansa will have a loving marriage that is also a political alliance.  A lot of us believe that when the North finds out Jon is a Targ they won’t be happy and will probably want Jon’s head.  And we believe the matter will be settled by Jon and Sansa’s marriage.  How that will go down is what we’re guessing at.  So bloodshed (mainly Jon’s) could be avoided by Sansa marrying Jon.
Henry I of France was not happy with William marrying his niece, his sister’s daughter. Maud was the daughter of the Count of Flanders one of the most powerful noblemen in France.  She was also descended from Charlemagne and Wessex royalty (that helped William in England).  Henry viewed that as a threat and then supported the barons against William, his nephew-in-law.  He invaded Normandy twice which failed both times.  It only ended with Henry I’s death.
A lot of us Jonsas believe Danii will not be happy with Jon’s true parentage.  She will see him as a threat and then move to eliminate him.  So the once allies, will then be enemies.  And it’ll probably end with Danii’s death.
Rollo, the one who founded Normandy, ruled with strict laws and hanged murderers and thieves making Normandy one of the safest places in Europe.  Also he was a Viking and they valued courage, truth, honor, fidelity, discipline, hospitality, industriousness, self-reliance, and perseverance and family was important to them.  And there’s all kinds of legends that are not true about them (i.e. the horned helmets).
It reminds me of the North and their code of justice and honor and their values.  The Stark children were sheltered and didn’t face all the danger and intrigue that happened constantly in the south.  Of course that changed thanks to Theon’s betrayal with the Ironborn and the Boltons, but they are unpopular.  Also the North, which was really seen with Robb, got all kinds of exaggerated legends about them like the Vikings did.
And mentioning Rollo…  His Scandinavian name was Hrolfr which literally means “fame and glory for the wolf”.  And William means “determined protector”.
The only Targ that has any connection to wolves is of course, Jon Snow.  And Jon is of course determined to protect the realm of men.  It was all in the Night Watch’s oath.  Also the Normans introduced chivalry (so I assume making oaths as well) to England.
That got longer than I thought. XD  Well, of course William the Conqueror and Jon Snow aren’t exactly alike (as no character in GoT is exactly like any one historical figure), but there are a lot of similarities, I believe.

Children of RWBY character sheets 3
Name: Amber Belladonna Wukong
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Height: 5′8″
Eye Color: Amber
Hair Color: Black
Family: Sun Wukong (father), Blake Belladonna (mother), Gheira and Kali Belladonna (grandparents), Illia Amitola (adopted aunt)
Semblance: Doppelgänger (able to create up to ten perfect copies of herself that are able to physically act. Easily destroyed, unfortunately)
Weapons: Gambol Shroud (passed down from her mother)
Relationship Status: In a relationship (currently dating Crimson Arc. Well aware of his intentions to propose to her after graduation despite his attempts to keep it secret)
Personality: Stern, stubborn, has a strict moral code. Despises bullies or anyone who harasses those weaker than themselves. Especially dislikes people who mistreat or discriminate against Faunus. Has a kinder, shy, tender side not often seen by others (typically comes out when around her boyfriend).
Profile:
Amber Belladonna Wukong was born to Sun and Blake not long after the birth of Crimson Arc to their friends Jaune and Yang. Having two Faunus parents of different species it came as little surprise to the couple that she would be born of a random species herself. Thus it came as a bit of a shock to Blake when her daughter was handed to her, sporting a wolf’s tail. Blake, who had a great dislike towards dogs in general, did not miss the irony in finding that her daughter had been born a wolf Faunus. Needless to say, her girlfriend Yang would never let her live it down.
Amber’s birth came as quite a surprise to the young couple. Though they’d tried for several years to have a child, circumstances often led them to being apart from one another either due to a mission or Blake’s responsibilities as part of the new Faunus peace movement. Needless to say, Gheira and Kali Belladonna were overjoyed to have a grandchild and wasted little effort in spoiling her whenever they came to visit, much to Amber’s parent’s annoyance as they attempted to raise her in a modest environment.
Amber’s early years as a child led to her gaining a greater sense of the scope of her world and the people in it at a very young age. While her family lived in Vale, they would often visit her grandparents in Menagerie or follow Blake as she acted as a representative for the Faunus peace movement. Several times she found herself in Atlas, the guests of Weiss Schnee and her family, an old teammate of her mother’s, listening in and learning from them as they worked tirelessly to improve the human-faunus relations. By the time she was five she had learned that, having been born a Faunus, the world automatically looked down on her. Despite this she felt proud of her heritage and would have it no other way.
Growing up in Vale she often had play dates and sparing matches with the children of Jaune and Yang Arc. With their parents being old friends it was only natural that their own children would come to know one another. Amber and Yin hit it off immediately, the two becoming fast friends, almost as close as sisters. As for Crimson, however, Amber would have missed him completely had Yin not introduced him to her. Though they were the same age, Amber didn’t take a great deal of interest in the boy. She didn’t dislike, he had done nothing to provoke her, but he wasn’t exactly social like his sister. More often than not she would see him quietly reading a book, nestled underneath a nearby tree while she and Yin played or sparred with one another.
Things would change drastically when Amber entered Signal academy. Much like the official Huntsman academies, Signal encouraged their students to learn about their limits, strengths and weaknesses, while mostly taking a backseat to any bullying that went on. Thought still a school, those who had come their to train had to learn the harsh rule of learning to fend for yourself or banding together in teams for strength. This applied in all areas, with the teachers only stepping in when they felt things were getting out of hand.
Unsurprisingly, many of the Faunus students were the targets of bullying. While not uncommon it was still frowned up by most. Unfortunately, very few were willing to step up and confront the bullies. Few, that is, aside from Amber. Being the daughter of Blake Wukong an Gheira Belladonna, Amber felt a great responsibility when it came to her fellow Faunus. Whenever one of them was being picked on, bullied, or being taken advantage of, she was quick to intervene. Her actions, while noble, earned her several enemies, all of whom learned to band to together.
It came as little surprise to her when, on a particularly bad day, Amber found herself surrounded on all sides by enemies. Despite their numbers she was anything but helpless, having learned how to expertly wield Gambol Shroud from her mother and gaining a great deal of mastery through the tutelage of both parents. She managed to fend off several of them but was eventually overwhelmed. She took hit after hit, each one knocking her aura down lower, until it failed her and one of them drew blood. Bruised and bleeding, Amber attempted to escape but to no avail. Pressed against the wall, she did the one thing she thought she’d never sink down to; she cried out for help.
Two things occurred that Amber will never forget. The first was the vicious smirk her assailant wore on his face as he heard he plea for help, raising his weapon to land the final blow. The second was the of a gunshot followed by her opponent being thrown across the school grounds. Any others who might have thought they had a chance quickly lost their confidence as they saw who had come to her aid. Much like her bullies, Amber couldn’t believe who it was either.
Crimson Arc, a normally quiet individual, now loomed over everyone as he came to stand at Amber’s side. His lilac eyes were a deep red and waves of hostility rolled off of him like a thick miasma. Whatever confidence the bullies might have had quickly evaporated as they took flight, preferring to incur the wrath of the teachers than him. Amber, now left alone with Crimson, found herself oddly terrified of him. She had always known him to be calm and quiet, a veritable shadow. Now, however, he seemed almost like a giant. Yet, when he bent down to look at her and check her wounds, all his hostility was gone and his eyes had reverted back to their natural lilac coloring.
Before she had any time to register what was happening, Crimson had her in his arms, carrying her bridal style towards the nurses’ office. She might have protested. She couldn’t recall. All she could remember was realizing just how strong he was, carrying her with ease, and how gentle he felt. She somehow felt safe in his arms, something she hadn’t been used to since her father would carry her in his arms as a chil- well, when she was younger. After taking her to the nurse and informing her of what happened, Amber was left to contemplate exactly what had just occurred. She couldn’t quite explain it. She didn’t know how. Later, Crimson would receive a weeks worth of detentions for his actions. The bullies, in the other hand, were suspended for two.
Things changed drastically for Amber after that. Her views of Crimson shifted as  she paid more and more attention to him, learning fairly quickly that he had grown from the quiet little bookworm into a competent young man. He showed no favor to either human or Faunus, treating every student with respect. He was quite skilled in combat and did well academically and even took time to help other students who were struggling with their own studies when asked. The more she learned about him the more she came to realize something, something that scarred her; she was developing a crush on Crimson Arc.
Amber was forced to confront the nature of her feelings sooner than she’d have anticipated. That summer, Amber answered the front door only to come face to face with the warm smile of Crimson Arc. She was shocked, to say the least, to find him standing outside her door and even more confused when he asked to speak with her mother. She stood by as he requested that Blake train him in stealth tactics, siting that she herself had earned the moocher “Ninja” during her time at Beacon. When asked why he wanted this specific type of training, Crimson answered by demonstrating his semblance, disappearing before their eyes before reappearing at Amber’s side, startling her. Amber then had to deal with the fact that the man she was quickly developing feelings for would be around her throughout the summer.
Things finally came to a head once they entered Beacon. Once both had passed their initiation and been separated into their teams, Amber couldn’t help but laugh at the irony that her team was his sister team situated just across the hall. She decided something had to be done and soon, otherwise things would only continue to become awkward for her.
Finding an opportunity where they could be alone, Amber admitted her feelings towards him. Crimson was silent, as he usually was, and waited patiently for her to finish. Once she had she was surprised to find him smiling warmly. He admitted to her that he had developed feelings for her when they were still children, a small crush which only grew over time. He had simply been too shy to admit it. Their relationship from there developed, both becoming more and more as they grew closer, something that will become important with recent developments.
Another long one. Honestly, some of these seem less like bios and more like a synopsis of the character. Some of the other characters will have shorter bios so it’ll be easier to read but Jack Brisbane will have a long one for sure. I also plan on having some villain bios as well. Let me know your thoughts.

she could not have drawn a more admirable portrait
He had three rather grubby but not badly furnished rooms. There was even the appearance of some prosperity, at the same time an extreme slovenliness. The flagon shattered underneath him as the floor came up to smack him in the head. Then the lugosis carhartt girl was on him once again. At last eleven o’clock struck. It was with difficulty I persuaded him to go. “Qyburn will know. Trust him in this. Redfort said he showed great novolux 60 led promise in the lists. A great jouster must be a great horseman first.”. For the first four days of her illness, we, the doctor and I, were in fekete női bakancs great alarm about her, but on the fifth day the doctor took me aside and told me that there was no reason for anxiety and she would certainly recover. This doctor was the one I had known so long, a good-natured and eccentric old bachelor whom I had called in in Nellie’s first illness, and who had so impressed her by the huge Stanislav Cross on his breast.. No one was paying any mind to Bran. He crawled a little higher, dragging his useless legs behind him. 'Bats,' answered Bruce, and he told Ducard about the bats in the well. 'My father told me something important about the bats in the well.' He said, "The bats flew at you because they were frightened of you. Richard Dillingham was the son of a respectable Quaker family in Morrow County, Ohio. His pious mother brought him up in the full belief of the doctrine of St. Mr. George A. Had she changed the picture of Legree, on Red river, for —— ——, on —— Island, South Carolina, she could not have drawn a more admirable portrait. I am led to question whether she had not some knowledge of this beast, as he is known to be, and made the transposition for effect.. She spoke rudely and crossly. She was evidently out of humour and angry with Natasha. This is what slavery is,—this is what it is to puma red bull racing evo cat ii be a slave! I hope we may not break off all relations. I hope, too, that you may learn to appreciate me better. I have watched you for a long time, watched you with a thousand eyes and one. I saw your birth, and that of your lord father before you. ghete galbene piele You know nothing, Jon Snow. “They come from a hidden vale at the north end of the Frostfangs, surrounded by high peaks, and for thousands of years they’ve had more truck with the giants than with other men. The woman staggered, lost her apple, and fell. The other foodstuffs in her arms went flying. Theon slipped his hand through hers. The stumps of his lost fingers tingled as he drew the girl to her feet. “I know. I do.” Dany did not know how to make him see. The first was short and very fat, with a round red face and three chins wobbling beneath a sable hood. “My new wife,” Roose Bolton said. No. That is not just. You may be right, ser. Safer to return the way you came.” Prince Doran smiled pleasantly. The next day the king’s scouts chanced upon an abandoned crofters’ village between two lakes—a mean and meagre place, no more than a few huts, a longhall, and bocanci grisport 480 a watchtower. Richard Horpe commanded a halt, though the army had advanced no more than a half-mile that day and they were hours shy of dark. The editor of the New York Observer says that the Southern Free Press has been an able and earnest defender of Southern institutions; but that he now advocates the passage of a law to prohibit the separation of families, and recommends instruction to a portion of slaves that are most honest and faithful. The Observer further adds: “It was such language as this that was becoming common, before Northern fanaticism ruined the prospects of emancipation.” It is not so! Northern fanaticism, as he calls it, has done everything that has been done for bettering the condition of the slave. “That’s too idealistic,” I answered, “and therefore cruel. You’re demanding of her a strength which perhaps you did not give her at her birth. Not far from Fishermonger’s Square and the Merchant’s House, shouts erupted from a cross street, and a dozen Unsullied spearmen in ornate armor and tiger-skin cloaks appeared as if from nowhere, waving everyone aside so the triarch could pass through atop his elephant. The triarch’s elephant was a grey-skinned behemoth clad in elaborate enameled armor that clattered softly as he moved, the castle on its back so tall that it scraped the top of the ornamental stone arch he was passing underneath. “Mother!” they cried instead; in the old dead tongue of Ghis, the word was Mhysa! They stamped their feet and slapped their bellies and shouted, “Mhysa, Mhysa, Mhysa,” until the whole pit seemed to tremble. Dany let the sound wash over her. Many a younger son of the King in the North had made his seat there, many a brother, many an uncle, many a cousin. Some passed the castle to their own sons and grandsons, and offshoot branches of House Stark had arisen; the Greystarks had lasted the longest, holding the Wolf’s Den for five centuries, until they presumed to join the Dreadfort in rebellion against the Starks of Winterfell..
