This tournament will be held to determine the very best overworked character of them all! Submit your burnout-bound blorbos to the Google form after reading the rules!

This is the second tournament of @deadguydeathmatch

Rules:

Characters must be overworked, whether it's due to an external or internal pressure doesn't matter.

Characters don't need to have a literal job to qualify, they can be overworked from a hobby, relationship or any other number of things

Fictional characters only, no real people

No Harry Potter, terfs and other bigots stay far away

BE CIVIL! Don't harass or attack me or your fellow voters.

Propaganda is both allowed and encouraged provided it's good natured.

You may submit as many characters as you like, but only submit one per form

Do not submit the same character multiple times

The closing date for submissions is Saturday 27th May

White Haired Anime Boy Submission Rules

This isn't restricted to just anime! Characters from other media are also allowed as long as they are drawn in an anime style or just have anime energy. (ex. Utatane Piko from Vocaloid, Guzma from Pokemon, etc.)

Character's hair must be predominantly white, but characters with streaks/highlights/etc that are different colors are allowed!

NO BLONDES!!! ONLY WHITE HAIR!!!

But if their hair is white in certain circumstances, they still count. (ex. characters with other forms, lighting looking weird, changes in adaptations, etc.)

White haired anime men qualify too!

Submit the character's name and game/anime/show/social experiment/etc that they're from in the same message if you're using the submission box.

Welcome to the Fictional Medic Showdown!

STATUS: queuing round 2 polls

hello! i am but a simple autistic with a special interest in medicine and a love for doctors in media that i want to share with the world. this tournament will feature all types of fictional medical professionals to see who ranks highest.

the size of this bracket will depend entirely on how many submissions i get. this is my first time running a tournament so pls go easy on me 🙏

any of the above as personas/online personalities that exist as a separate character to the human person behind it (see: I don't know anything about MCYT but if any of those people have doctor characters, those characters would qualify)

gray area, case-by-case basis

characters who have ‘doctor’ in the name but have never done any actual doctoring. i will be going off of Vibes

scientists who perform medical procedures as part of their research/experiments (whether legitimate or dubious in nature)

anything else i didn't account for here, there may be some exceptions

lastly, some general interaction guidelines

Intro Post

Well, I finally caved! After so long of not seeing these blorbos in any brackets, I’m taking matters into my own hands and giving them their own bracket! Welcome to... the A Rose of Ice in Summer character tournament!!

Okay so I figure I better explain, because even though I’m committed to the bit, I don’t want it to be incomprehensible.

Don’t know anything about the title I mentioned in the starting paragraph? That’s part of the plan! This is a bracket for a fake series, title given above as “A Rose of Ice in Summer”. The goal of this blog is to make up the lore of what this fake series is through improvised propaganda of the characters.

Mostly, we’re just here to have fun pretending a show exists! Like the Goncharov of poll blogs, if you will.

Here’s an Example Post of things you can add when the polls start, the example mostly focusing on small comments that can build a lot even if you don’t have a whole lot to add otherwise (understandably, not everyone can make full essays)

For most of the time I’ll stay “in character” pretending that A Rose of Ice in Summer is a real series that we’re really talking about, but when needed, I’ll do segments breaking character to explain things- like right here!

There’s not really a submissions phase given there’s. Not actually any characters to submit. But I want to wait maybe a week or two before starting, first of all to get a reasonable base of followers who are interested before jumping in, and second of all, because I plan on drawing the fake characters myself, I want to give myself a fair amount of time so I don’t feel like I’m rushing [EDIT!] So I was wrong. About pretty much all of that paragraph! Ahaha that’s okay. Submissions are closed, but here’s the link to the post so you can see the list of who made it in !

Hello! Welcome to this lil tournament I'm putting together, despite also running two others right now. Why am I like this.

Anyways!!! I'm schizospec. Sadly, I don't know a lot of characters from media who are also on the schizospectrum or have psychosis. So, I figured, why not make a tournament for it?

Guidelines:

No ableism will be tolerated, nor will any other kind of bigotry.

You do NOT have to be psychotic to interact with this tournament/blog. Everyone is welcome! Honestly, I'd be really happy if lots of different people got to have a good time and learn here. Anyone can submit a character!

No anti-propaganda, bullying, harassment, etc. This is for fun.

All submissions must be sent through the ask box to be considered. This tournament will have 32 participants, tops.

NO NSFW IN THE IMAGES SENT. Light blood is allowed but please no full-on gore. A good example is YTTD or Danganronpa; there's blood, but nothing too explicit.

Headcanons are allowed! Please indicate whether the character actually fits the DSM-5 criteria or if it's your headcanon.

Characters with any condition that would cause psychosis are welcome, as well as schizospec characters without psychosis.

You can submit multiple characters in SEPERATE asks. One character per ask. Please do not spam the same character over and over.

No ocs, I'm sorry. I'm sure they're wonderful :)

In regards to images, I will accept fanart ONLY if the artist has given explicit permission, the artist's name is submitted with the art, and if official art isn't submitted in other submissions.

Now, you may be asking, what should I include in my submission? I would appreciate if your submission went something like this:

Image of character (links work fine)

What criteria do they fit and what is/would be their diagnosis (schizophrenia, bpd, ptsd, etc)

Curious about what the criteria is? Here's a link to the DSM-5 criteria for schizophrenia, which is a good place to start. I may post links to other collections, idk!!! But this is what we'll be using mostly. If it's difficult to understand or read, I can make a separate post explaining the official criteria. However, if you're schizospec or deal with psychosis and have your own experience to add to it, please feel free to say that!

Welcome to Superheroes' Civilians Tournament

A place to appreciate the civilians in a superhero's life. I also run @girlygirltournament so I will wait until that is closer to ending before starting this one. Submissions will be open for a month or so.

Rules:

-The character has to be part of some sort of superhero media but not a superhero themselves. Magical Girl anime counts. (If there are people fighting crime and having a secret identity then it's a safe bet it counts)

-Can have powers but can't have a secret identity/do crime-fighting. (Ex. Inko Midoriya can pull objects towards her but she isn't a hero)

-It's fine if they had one appearance with a secret identity as long as it's not recurring or what the character is known for. (Ex Lois Lane has been Superwoman before but she is not known for it)

-Only one submission per character. Submit as many different characters as you want.

-Treat everyone with respect and be civil, it's only a Tumblr tournament.

The AUs in the running!

With the submission now closed, the time for the Tournament to begin is fast approaching! With that in mind it is time to reveal the AUs in the running:

Drifting stars AU by @the-subpar-ghost

During the events of not what he seems, Mabel ends up falling into the portal instead of Ford coming through it, and Mabel ends up stuck with Ford in the multiverse. The two of them travel the multiverse and get into many a shenanigan trying to find a way home. In most versions Stan and Dipper also work to bring their twins home

One of us AU by @ashidaii

During the events of Weirdmaggedon, Ford accepts Bill's offer to join him and is transformed into a demon. In some versions it is with the intent to betray Bill later while struggling with Demonic Corruption, in others it is genuine.

Reunion falls AU by @sailorleo (Now @hellspawnmotel)

Not long after Mabel and Dipper were born the two were separated, with Dipper being sent to live with Stan and Mabel remaining with their parents. After finding out about her twin years later, Mabel travels to Gravity falls to meet him.

Timestuck AU by @dodofiasco

In which one of the Pines twins (or both, in which case usually they get separated but sometimes they are together) end up stuck 30 years in past due to the time tape and meet the younger version of one (or both) of the Stan twins.The most Popular version of this AU has Mabel travelling with a younger Stan.

Blind Faith au by @gravity-what and @thesnadger

During the events of the Portal incident in the 1980s, Both Stan and Ford fall through the Portal. Due to McGucket being driven mad by what he saw when he entered the portal, Ford fears the same could happen to Stan and thus blindfolds him to prevent him from Seeing whatever lurks in the mysterious and insidious dimension where they have ended up, and the two travel to escape. However, while Ford cannot see fully due to losing his glasses, what little he can see is starting to take its toll. This mounting paranoia and fear eventually reaches a Boling point and leads to Ford attempting to blind Stan to keep him safe from the horrors (In some versions he succeeds, in others he only manages to do so for one eye) Eventually the two manage to leave this dimension and they begin travelling the multiverse.

Monster falls AU by various

The discovery of a magical stream results in the characters of gravity falls being transformed into various monsters. Dipper is turned it a Cervitaur(Deer centaur) Mabel is turned into a Mermaid or a Unicorn centaur, Stan is turned into a gargoyle, Ford is turned into a Greek sphynx, And the list goes on.

Mystery trio AU by various

Based on a popular theory prior to the release of Not what he seems and a tale of tale of two stans. The story of the Mystery trio au has many different variations, but the general premise is that in sometime in the past before the portal incident, Stan and Ford make and the two of them plus Fiddleford work together to help with Ford's research in Gravity falls, getting into all kinds of trouble.

Beauty and Beast AU by @artsycrapfromsai

A Familial love take on the Disney movie of the same name, in the Beauty and the Beast au the pines twins end up living in the castle of the Stan twins, who were cursed years ago by bill, with Ford being transformed into a Book and Stan into a beast

Reverse portal AU by @busket

During the events of the portal incident, Stan is the one to fall in the portal instead of Ford. Ford then spends the next 30 battling with himself over whether he should risk the universe and try and bring Stan back, Meanwhile Stan travels the multiverse, probably getting banned from numerous dimensions.

Relativity falls AU by Doidles and Gargunk

An age swap au where the stan twins are twelve years old and staying in gravity falls with their Grauntie Mabel, who is secretly working to bring back her brother.

Transcendence AU by Zoey Chu(Now @transcendence-au)

Due to a long series of events, Dipper gains Bill's powers, becoming known as "Alcor". Meanwhile in an event known as the "Transcendence" gravity falls weirdness spreads to the rest of the world.

One and a half stans AU by @disappeareddraws

After the events of a tale of two stans, Stan ends up being reverted back to a kid through some means or the other.

Ghost stan AU by @gryphsdeadbones

Some point after a tale of two stans, Stan dies and becomes a ghost, eventually becoming a category 10 ghost.

Never human AU by @notllorstel

Stanley pines was stillborn, replaced by a changeling at birth. In some versions Dipper is also a Fae and the story deals with the aftermath of these revelations

Pirate AU by @gobblewanker

During the 18th century, Orphan stowaways Mabel and Dipper find themselves on the mystery, A pirate ship manned by its notorious captain Stanley pines, who is fueled by a desire for revenge against the man who killed his brother.

Summer job AU by Various

After the events of Steven universe future, Steven gets a job working at the mystery shack (sometimes post-series sometimes pre-series)

Welcome to the Ultimate Squishmallow Tournament!

PLEASE DO NOT BUY SQUISHMALLOWS IRL. If you do want to still purchase Squishmallows, buying them secondhand should still be okay. I made this blog before the CEO of Squishmallows made it aware that he is financially supporting Israel. More information/resources will be provided under the cut.

I will begin posting resources at the bottom of each poll. Any additional posts related to this will be tagged with #SquishBoycott ; while this is an important matter to keep up to date on and I urge you to continue your research/keep up to date on the matter as a whole outside of Squishmallows, I understand muting this tag for the sake of mental health, as this blog was originally created for fun away from the cruelties of the world. As a note this is not a part of the official boycott.

As of right now, I am not postponing the tournament but am open to doing so as the matter progresses.

This is a tournament to determine Tumblr's favorite squishmallow, inspired by accounts such as @webkinztournament, including all 2,000+ Squishmallows as seen on the wikipedia (which can be viewed here).

Current Round

Round 2 will begin November 27 @ 12 A.M. EST and be posted every hour. Each poll will run for one week. Specific schedule for each matchup can be found here.

Exclusions

The only squishmallows that will not be considered for the tournament are licensed squads, unnamed squish, and any squish without a link on the wiki page. This last decision is due to the fact that I cannot find images or information on these squishes if they do not have a wiki page. A list will be provided here of all unincluded squish. If anyone would like to send a picture of said squish to be included, I will gladly do so! Otherwise, they basically don't exist anywhere I can find on the internet and will not be considered. Unnamed squishmallows and licensed squads will not be included regardless.

Pairings

For round 1, each squishmallow was randomly paired by spinning a wheel (this took actually forever). From there, winners will move on the face off the winner of the next pair, and then the winner of the next pair, and so on in a bracket. More information on each squish will be provided once there are less squish per round.

Ties

In the case of an even 50/50 tie, I (the host) will ask 3 irl friends that have not voted to break the tie.

Propaganda

You are welcome to send propaganda for your favorite squish via the ask box, by reblogging the poll, or @'ing this account. I will do my best to promote said propaganda on this page, tagged with #propaganda. Overall, please BE KIND. This is a tournament for fun and not meant to cause actual discourse.
