Not Allowed To Die
[read on ao3][masterlist]Febuwhump prompt: Not allowed to die
The bacta bandage itches. It takes all of his self control to not rip it off, dig his fingers into the fresh incision and rip open his own skull so he can spray the insides with bleach. "You should have just killed me," Rex says, hollow. He stares down at Cody's medical contraption and the rotten biochip that it pulled from his brain, and curls his shaking hands into fists.

"Been a rough year, eh?" Cody asks mildly. He's never been funny. Today isn't different. "What can you remember?"
"All of it." Rex presses his palms against his eyes until he sees stars. "It… Everything I did…"
"Don't blame yourself, Rex, that was the chip—"
"And everything she's done…"
"It makes it so that every order given is completely sound, logical. It starts degrading after a few months. Things start becoming more clear." Cody rubs his back. "You noticed that suddenly things felt wrong, didn't you? You couldn't just go along with it as easily. It's not your fault. Ahsoka is the one who Fell—"
"That's not Ahsoka!" Rex turns on his brother, spitting with rage. "That's not my fucking Ahsoka! Korrē isn't Ahsoka, no matter what she looks like… her eyes…" He weeps like a damn tubie, gulping, heaving big, ugly sobs like he hasn't since he was a cadet and saw his first brother die on the practice range. Cody can blame it on the chip all he wants, but in the end he did what he did because he loved her. "He did something to her. Skywalker… no, Vader, he did something when he brought her back."
"What do you mean?" Cody asks.
"She was dead." Cody's eyes go wide. "Palpatine murdered her with Sith lightning, then Skywalker…" A surge of vomit rises in Rex's throat. He's finding it harder and harder to tell them apart in his mind, even though he knows that the Skywalker he had followed into battle would have killed all three of them before letting them become what they have. The clarity of the chip is gone. He almost hates Cody for taking it away. "Vader. He used his own lightning to restart her heart."
Cody goes pale. "General Kenobi used to say that Sith lightning could corrupt, turn and deform—"
Rex vomits on the hand-woven Nubian rug and collapses next to the puddle, sobbing hysterically. He can't look at Cody—You're devouring him too quickly—can't even think of looking him in the eyes after—I've just been so hungry lately— what was done to Kenobi's body—
"Alright, alright, easy." Cody pulls Rex back to a sitting position and wipes the vomit off his face. "They're on their way back, brother. We don't have much time."
"You have to get them away from here," Rex forces out in between hiccups. "Senator Amidala—and her children. Get them out—get them out before he can hurt them any—any more than he already has." I want us to be a big, happy family. Padmé's doing her part. "She's pregnant again, Codes. You can't let him—let him get his hands on another—"
"I didn't come here for them," Cody says. His mouth tightens to a thin line. "They're too heavily guarded, and even if I got through I don't have an astromech to slice into a ship."
Rex lunges for the wardrobe. He tosses all of the expensive banthashit that they've bought to dress him up in over his shoulder in search of it, and he finally finds it at the bottom of a suitcase. "I didn't know why I kept it," Rex says, sinking back on his rump. "It's Artoo's memory chip. I know there's astromechs in the hangar garage, just plug it into one. He can slice into anything."
"Skywalker's old mech?" Cody takes it with a look of trepidation. "What about you?"
Rex tastes stomach acid again. Whatever she brings forth won't be right. It'll be as corrupted as she is, feral, vile. That doesn't mean he'll abandon them. "She's pregnant."
"I heard you."
Rex shakes his head. "No. Korrē is pregnant."
Cody's face falls. "Rex." He puts a careful hand on his shoulder. "Are you sure that…"
"That it's mine?" Rex laughs bitterly. "That's the only thing I am sure of. He hasn't fucked her." Cody doesn't look convinced. Rex can't blame him. "It's the only thing he won't do to her." He wants to cover his eyes again, but he knows he'll only see Ah—Korrē, Korrē's mouth hanging open in pleasure as the man who helped raise her crudely masturbates her lek, sitting entwined with him on his throne like a pair of serpents. "He likes to… to rile her up, and then turn her on me." And he watches them, too, though Rex doesn't tell Cody that. Every time he felt a tickle on the back of his neck, every time the hair on his arms sprang up with the feeling of eyes on them, it was because there were; Vader's jealous eyes were the ones Rex felt when he made love to her.
"I'm sorry, Rex." Cody sinks down next to him. "I know how you felt about her. I'm so sorry, but I don't… You said it. That's not Ahsoka anymore."
She responded to her name. Now that Rex has control of his mind again, the desire to try and wake Ahsoka up—to drag her out of Korrē—is getting stronger. But even if he did, would Ahsoka want to live with what Korrē had done? "What was your plan? If you don't have a ship, how the hell were we getting out of here?"
"On foot."
Rex barks out a hysterical laugh. "Top tier plan, ol' boy."
"We only need to get outside the blast radius." Cody snorts at his surprised gasp. "Obi-Wan had me waiting here since Order 66 as a contingency, in case they had to flee Tatooine. But he couldn't smuggle them off world in time, then it was all locked down with a dozen sodding Venators in orbit. I didn't… I didn't realize you were alive until Skywalker announced the engagement to Ah—Korrē," he quickly amends at the face Rex must be making.
"You've got a bomb?"
Cody shrugs. "It's a bit ironic, I admit." He pulls a small capped syringe out of a pouch on his belt and shows him. "Nano-droids. Voice activated, just need to say the trigger phrase."
Rex takes the syringe, caught between laughter and tears. "This is how Offee bombed the hangar. What Ahsoka was accused of doing. Why she almost walked away." Until Skywalker talked her into staying. He almost starts crying again.
"I figured it was my best shot. I was going to lace the food with it. I don't trust a bomb to take them out unless it's inside of them." Cody reaches for the syringe. Rex keeps it out of reach. "Rex…" he warns.
"I'll do it." Rex curls his fist around the syringe.
Cody huffs, frustrated. "Brother, I love you, but I don't believe that you're going to shoot up your pregnant betrothed with nano-droids."
Rex isn't formulating a plan, it's coming to him fully formed with the strangest assurance that it'll work. He stopped putting much stock in the Force when he marched up the stairs to the Jedi Temple at Vader's side. Maybe he was wrong. "I'm not shooting her up."
"Then give it back."
Rex uncaps the syringe and jabs it into his neck before Cody can stop him.
"The fuck are you doing?" Cody hisses, yanking the syringe away too late.
"Lacing her food." Rex laughs at his own joke and ignores the horrified look on Cody's face. "Ahsoka wasn't allowed to die when she should have. Vader denied her that peace. I love her enough to give it back."
Cody's face crumbles. "Even though she's—"
"Especially because she's pregnant." In his mind's eye, he sees the sleeping Padawans twitching in their bacta tanks as they suffocate. "Take my armor. I'm the only one with the authority to move the royal family, no one will question you. Get that chip into an astromech, and get Amidala and her babies out."
"You're sure?" Cody's voice cracks.
Rex nods, smiling genuinely for the first time in over a year. It'll be over soon. "I'm sure."
Cody yanks him into an embrace. "I'll see you on the march, Rex," he whispers.
Rex grasps the back of his brother's head and presses their foreheads together hard enough to bruise. "I'll keep a spot open for you."
A housekeeping droid cleans the bedroom while Rex showers and programs the nano-droids. Once he's done, he rips the bacta patch off his head. The wound is barely closed, but a patch will draw more attention than a cut. Especially to a predator with a nose for blood.
The smell of fresh blood will make what he needs to do easier, anyway.
Rex watches Cody lead Padmé, dressed in a dark cloak with her babies tied securely to her chest, down the long beach until they're out of sight. An orange R3 follows them. Rex imagines that he can hear the droid complaining, the cadence of offended honks and beeps as familiar to him as his Commander's voice. He briefly wonders if Padmé knows it's not him who's leading them to safety.
The air turns thick and oppressive when they return. The birds stop singing, even the insects go quiet. Everything alive in the villa can sense the predators that have returned.
Rex waits for them in the sitting room with a paring knife slicing thin lines up his forearms, tenderizing himself for her. He needs as much of his blood out of him as he can stand. He feels her excitement tingling in his spine as she catches the scent from outside.
"Rex?" Korrē hurries through the vestibule, closely followed by Vader. He looks like he's in a good mood. "What are you doing?"
Rex's heart pounds like a hammer in his chest. He drops the knife with a clang and holds up his arms to show her.
She goes to her knees in front of him. "What's wrong, my love?" she coos, kissing him. "Why are you hurting yourself?"
He pulls her into his bloody embrace and kisses her hard. Her mouth tastes like fresh blood and saltwater. "Missed you," he whispers once they come up for air.
Korrē's face splits in a sharp smile and she puts Rex's bloody hand to her lips. "You missed me that much?" She sucks the blood off his fingers, closing her eyes in rapture. "I missed you too." She hums happily as she laps at the stinging cuts on his arms like a cat.
He feels a hollow satisfaction at knowing the nano-droids are now in her too. Whatever happens, they'll go together. He puts his hand on her belly and silently says goodbye.
She moves it lower, down the front of her pants. Her sex is already dripping. "I missed you so much," she says into his neck.
"I suppose I'll see to my other children, since you're preoccupied." Vader leans down, yanks her backwards by her rear lek until her head is craned all the way back, and stares at her. There's something close to hate in his golden eyes that softens to love after a few moments.
Rex finally has the clarity in those heartbeats to realize why Vader won't cross that final line—Kill your Padawan—why he touches her lek and nowhere else—kill the last, weak piece of Anakin Skywalker—why he kisses her cheeks and her montrals and her forehead and everything except her lips. It's because Anakin Skywalker won't let him. The hedonistic, possessive, egotistical, power-hungry demon of an alter ego that he created hasn't managed to kill off every bit of the man who cried and begged Palpatine to spare Ahsoka's life.
Rex is saving Anakin as much as he's saving Ahsoka.
Vader lets her lek go with a scowl, and turns to leave. "Stay," Rex blurts out, his heart racing a million beats per minute.
"What?" Vader turns slowly, glaring at him.
Rex can see the front of his robes are tented. His eyes trail up and meet Vader's for the first time since Mustafar. "Stay," he says again.
Vader's face distorts, deforms into a mask of pure rage. Rex flies up, is flung across the room with the Force so hard that he sees stars when he slams into the marble wall. "Are you inviting me to watch you fuck my daughter, Rex?" he growls, squeezing his fist. The air is squeezed from Rex's lungs like an invisible vice tightening around his chest. He gulps helplessly. He can't say the trigger word without air. He can't say it without air.
"Father?" Korrē's orange arms wrap around Vader from the back. Rex can just barely hear her purring over the throbbing rush of blood in his ears. "I'm sorry he said that. You can punish me. I can take it."
"You can take it?" He reels on her, puts his hand around her already bruised throat and holds her up against the wall. Rex drops to the marble floor, falls hard onto his knees. "Do you hear that, Rex? Your pregnant betrothed wants me to punish her in your place. Is that what you want?"
"No!" Rex struggles to his feet, hisses at the popping of his knees. He bit his tongue when he hit the wall and now his mouth is flooded with blood. "Please, my Lord, don't hurt her. I'm sorry." He goes down to one knee, contrite, and ignores the way his kneecaps feel like they're about to burst.
Rex doesn't look up until he can see Vader's boots. The Sith yanks Rex to his feet with one hand around his throat. "And how should I punish you?" Vader whispers, tightening his hand. He leans in until his lips are barely a centimeter away.
Rex closes the distance, shoves his tongue into Vader's mouth. After a moment of shocked stillness, Vader returns the kiss hungrily and walks them forward, shoving Rex against the wall with a knee between his thighs. His tongue is brutal, invasive, sweeping around his mouth with unexpected eagerness. When he pulls away, blood that's rich with nano-droids drips from the corner of his mouth.
Rex looks into Korrē's confused eyes from over Vader's shoulder. They almost look blue in the dim twilight of the Nubian dawn creeping through the stained glass windows. As best he can manage with Vader's hand around his throat, he takes one last, deep breath for the trigger phrase and smiles at her. "I love you, Ahsoka—"

"It doesn't have to be like this." Korrē sinks down on her haunches, perches her chin on a closed fist. "All the Emperor wants is to reunite with His family. He would never hurt them. Padmé has nothing to be afraid of."
Sabé's face shifts and her fire returns. "He almost killed her!" she snarls. "He strangled her nearly to death while she was eight months pregnant with his children!"
"He apologized," Korrē says, rolling her golden eyes. The Captain remembers when they used to be blue. "You must understand how betrayed He felt when He saw that she had brought Obi-Wan. He didn't realize that he'd stowed away. He admits He was wrong."

Here's our fill for the square "Arranged Marriage". :)
To settle the dispute between the Empire and the Rebellion, both sides finally decide that an arranged marriage should be a way of brokering peace. Except, neither side knows who the other person involved in the marriage will be. Neither Fulcrum nor Darth Vader are very impressed that they've been chosen for this... marriage. At all. NOT VADERSOKA!

I do not ship Clone Wars era Anisoka. Not even a little bit.
But Rebels/OT-era Vadersoka? When they're both grown-ass adults and haven't seen each other for 16 years? It's honestly my main Star Wars ship after Obikin and Anidala. And it's about tied with Kalluzeb.
(Wolfwren has the potential to make the list too. Just need to see how it develops over the last two Ahsoka episodes.)

character asks ➡ @spookymatthias asked: anakin skywalker (i’m answering it on my sideblog for my sanity--thanks for the ask jess lol)
do I like them: YESSSSS anakin is my husband, the love of my life, my darling, we stan even though he’s not a good person!!!
5 good qualities: chivalrous, cunning, playful, passionate, heart is in the right place
5 bad qualities: overprotective, lets emotion cloud judgement, easily influenced, acts before thinking, only escalates a conflict
favourite episode/etc: revenge of the sith & the mortis arc both showcase him really well. i also love the way that anakin is portrayed in the wrong jedi arc because we get a glimpse at how vulnerable he is when it comes to losing those he loves without him going all out lmao
otp: anidala<333333333 (also anakin x me:P)
brotp: platonic!obikin (though i do ship them romantically) & platonic!anisoka (i do not ship them romantically)
ot3: obianidala. i LOVE obianidala
notp: anisoka. i just see them as siblings. same with vadersoka. just not for me.
best quote:  “And now that I'm with you again...I'm in agony. The closer I get to you, the worse it gets. The thought of not being with you—I can't breathe. I'm haunted by the kiss that you should never have given me. My heart is beating...hoping that kiss will not become a scar. You are in my very soul, tormenting me...” I’m sorry i just LOVE how much this quote exemplifies his dramatic ass
headcanon: anakin likes to mark padme sometimes. with his teeth. in very visible places. and it makes padme annoyed because she has to wear high necked stuff to cover it up but she also secretly loves it? it’s like anakin’s way of having some semblance of control over his life and emotions, and padme understands that. obi wan does too, when anakin becomes controlling, he gets it, even if he knows that it will only lead down the path to ruin...

I Love You
[read on ao3][masterlist]Febuwhump prompt: "I Love You"
It is Emperor Vader that has returned to free the slaves of Tatooine, and He has decided that they deserve not only justice, but vengeance. He strides powerfully back and forth as He speaks to the crowd in a language that the Captain doesn't have a translation module for. The entire population of Mos Espa is crammed into the Grand Arena. The slaves are the ones who fill the stands today, and they love their new Emperor.
Tumblr media
Characters: CT-7567|Rex/Ahsoka Tano, Darth Vader Wordcount: 1931
Tumblr media
The Captain stands in the very arena where Anakin Skywalker had won his freedom so long ago. He remembers once, when his General was feeling nostalgic—and maybe a little tipsy—he admitted that he still dreamed about returning to Tatooine to free all the slaves. He thought for sure that the Jedi would someday bring justice to his planet.
They didn't, nor did Anakin Skywalker. They roar His name into the cold night air, stomping their feet in cadence.
On the track is every slave owner in Mos Espa over the age of sixteen, bound and forced to kneel.
"It's the slave's tongue," Korrē whispers to the Captain. "They know He's one of them. He's telling them that they are all free. Their chips are deactivated and they have inherited the wealth of their owners. The Empire will not tolerate the barbaric practice of slavery anywhere in the galaxy."
The Captain's eye flickers to the remnants of the 501st that make up Vader's Fist, standing shoulder-to-shoulder behind the chained masters; a wall of black plastoid three-hundred strong, ready to fire on any who loosen their bonds.  Behind them stand the children of the slave owners, graciously pardoned by the Emperor as too young to pay for their parents' sins. They will be reeducated in the Core, raised by Vader's most loyal supporters, but first they will watch their parents face His justice.
Lord Vader finishes His speech, raises His arm, and ignites His newest symbol of power; if not for the blade's flickering, void-white edge and the Imperial destroyers blocking out Tatooine's stars, the Darksaber would be invisible against the night sky. The Captain's audio momentarily shorts out from the cheers of the liberated slaves splitting the night air, loud as a thunderclap. The ground shakes under their stomping feet, a heartbeat of—Va-der! Va-der! Va-der!—displacing the sand beneath them.
The sand trawler starts up and slowly advances upon the neatly chained line of immobilized masters. "Ani!" A Toydarian at the very end of the line flaps his wings pitifully and sobs. "Ani please, I treat you and your mother good, yes? Sell her to nice husband? Ani? Ani!"
Korrē drops to one knee and kisses the Emperor's hand. "I've received word from Captain Jesse, Master. Jabba is in custody, as is his staff." She sags. "There was no sign of our quarry."
Vader shrugs, surprisingly unbothered. "I know they're here. I can sense… him." His voice darkens, and His eyes flicker with molten gold.
"We did acquire a rancor," Korrē adds, biting her lip nervously.
The screaming is getting louder as the trawler lurches ever closer. Vader's eyebrows arch in surprise. "A rancor? Trained, or wild?"
"Well trained." Korrē smiles, visibly relieved. "And at your service for whatever purpose you desire."
Vader pulls her to her feet and embraces her. "Very good, my apprentice." His hand trails down her rear lek, stopping to squeeze the fatty flare.
The Captain stares straight ahead. A drunk civilian in a crowd on Coruscant once stroked Ahsoka Tano's rear lek like that. Anakin Skywalker broke his orbital socket.
Korrē shudders in His arms. "Thank you, Master." She rests her montrals against her Lord's heart, purring. The sand trawler is only meters away from the first bound, screaming man.
"I will deal with Jabba. Return to the homestead and collect Owen and Beru, then bring them to the palace. I'll give them one last chance to tell us where they went."
"And if they don't?"
Vader smiles, slow and thickly venomous. "Then we'll see how well-trained my new rancor is."
The cheering of the bloodthirsty crowd behind them muffles the crunching bone and screaming coming from the track.
"Your Highness." The Seventh Sister of Vader's Inquisitorious stands in the back-lit archway of the Lars homestead and goes down to one knee. "Beloved Abassa of Emperor Vader. I regret to inform you—"
Korrē's eyes narrow. "What did you do?" she interrupts.
The Mirialan glares at her. "I was continuing my interrogation as you instructed, your Highness, when the male—"
"I gave no such order." Korrē lifts her hand. The Seventh Sister flies up into the air, clawing at her throat. "What did you do?"
"Pl…please, Highness," she wheezes. "You told me to—"
"I told you to wait for my return!" Korrē throws her with a snarl against the stone wall of the Lars homestead. "You idiot! What have you done!"
"Mercy, Highness!"
Korrē tilts her head and growls in a subsonic rumble that makes the Captain's stomach clench. She clenches her fist. The Seventh Sister screams as her eyes pop from her skull with twin geysers of blood and dangle pitifully by their optic nerves. Korrē drops her hand, letting the Seventh Sister collapse onto the sand. "Stun her and load her onto the skiff. I have no desire to listen to her hysterics." Korrē stomps inside after kicking the sobbing Mirialan in the stomach.
The Captain has barely secured the Inquisitor on the skiff when Korrē hops aboard, dragging the bloodied, blonde Beru hop behind her. She jerks her head at Vaughn to take off. "This can all end now," she says to Beru, her voice dripping with poison honey. "The Emperor never wanted to hurt anyone. Look." She points at the unconscious Seventh Sister. "I did that for what she did to Owen. Lord Vader will do worse. He wants his children, as is His right."
"I don't know a damn thing about his children," Beru whispers. There are tear tracks running through the blood on her face.
Korrē's eyes tighten. She grabs the woman by the chin. "Then why did we find two cradles buried below your water tank?" she hisses. Beru closes her eyes, shuddering with a silent sob.  Korrē licks a clean stripe through the blood and tears on her cheek before letting her go. "What happens next is entirely up to you, Auntie."
The Captain glances back down at the unconscious Seventh Sister and discretely pokes her eyes back in her fractured skull before Korrē becomes too tempted.
The Emperor is reclining on Jabba's throne when they arrive, covered head-to-toe in green viscera. His Grand Inquisitor looms behind him in a darkly ironic echo of Jabba and his larval majordomo. He grins at His heir, golden eyes shining in the dark stone chamber. "Do you know what happens when lightning hits a Hutt?" His tone is light, merry; clearly the toppling of Jabba's empire has Him in a joyous mood.
Korrē shoves Beru aside and throws herself into a contrite bow at His feet, already in tears. He leans forward, smile fading. He almost looks concerned. "What happened?"
"My Lord, the Seventh Sister defied my orders and continued interrogating Owen Lars while we were at the arena. She killed him." Korrē squeezes her teary eyes shut. "I take full responsibility for her defiance. I accept whatever punishment you believe I deserve."
The Grand Inquisitor's lip curls up, clearly enjoying Korrē's submissive display. Vader's eyes darken and flick over to the keening Seventh Sister, dragged in on her knees by Ridge. Her right eye dangles pitifully from the nerve. It won't stay, no matter how many times the Captain pushes it back in.
Korrē is too ashamed to even look at her Lord. "I'm so sorry."
Vader leans down and places a sticky hand on her montrals. "Rise, Korrē." She does, shaking and teary-eyed. He pulls her onto His gory lap.
Korrē leans into the hand He presses against her cheek. "Please forgive me, Master," she whispers.
Vader presses a soft kiss against her montral. The Grand Inquisitor's satisfied smirk falters. "I love you, Korrē." His hand slides down her cheek, rests around her throat. "You are my daughter, my apprentice, my heir." Her eyes widen and tear up with His praise. "But if my Inquisitors disobey you, it is because they believe you are weak. My daughter is not weak." He tightens His hand.
Korrē's eyes go wide and her mouth gapes open, but she doesn't struggle. She accepts her punishment, not even kicking as He chokes the life out of her. Her hands come up and wrap around His wrist; she clings to her Master even as He kills her.
The Grand Inquisitor's smirk returns. He—like all of the selfish, ambitious Inquisitorious—believes that he will become the Emperor's new apprentice if she fails.
The Captain's hand tightens on his sidearm. He knows he can't stop the Emperor from taking her life if her life is what He desires, but He won't be fast enough to stop him from taking his own.
Vader waits until Korrē's eyes roll back in her head and she goes limp, then loosens His grip. Five long seconds pass in which the Captain doesn't feel his own heart beating; Korrē finally comes to with a gasp. "You are forgiven." Vader removes His hand from her throat with a sadistic smile. The Captain lets out the breath he has been holding.
"Thank you, Master," Korrē says faintly. She rests her head against His chest and closes her eyes.
"Bring Beru forward," Vader orders, pointing to a spot in front of the throne. "Don't cry, little one. I said you're forgiven." One hand slips up Korrē's back and strokes her rear lek.
The Tatooinian woman rips her arm away from Vaughn. "I can walk by myself," she snaps. She lifts her chin and meets His golden eyes fearlessly.
"My wife and children are missing, Beru." Vader gives her a friendly smile, and in the smoky darkness He almost looks like Anakin. "You know where they are. The desert is a dangerous place. Even now, they are in danger from Tuskens, Jawas, krayt dragons. Help me protect them."
Beru shakes her head. "Your mother would be ashamed of you."
The room falls vacuum-silent except for the vicious growl that erupts from Korrē's chest. Vader shushes her with a soft touch between her montrals. "My mother died in agony because your husband and his father—her owners—were too weak to protect her. I was the one who retrieved her."
"She died free, Anakin." Beru doesn't shy from his golden gaze. "No matter how it started, she loved him at the end."
A muscle works in Vader's cheek. He slaps a button on Jabba's throne with the hand not fondling Korrē's lek. The floor beneath Beru—and Vaughn—opens. "Whoops," Vader says casually as His throne slides forward. He peers down into the grate. "Try to stay alive down there, Vaughn!" He calls down over their screaming. His eyes flick up to the Captain, then to the back stairs.
The Captain immediately elbows Jesse. He nods and heads for the stairs with a handful of men.
"Now, Korrē." Vader reclines in His throne, petting her head fondly, and gestures at Ridge to bring the Seventh Sister forward. His gloved, bloody finger slips inside Korrē's mouth and tugs on her upper fang. "The eyes were a nice touch, but I think you can do better."
The Captain glances up at the Grand Inquisitor. His smirk is long gone.

i thought about this all day and have no defense. i do make happy gifsets don’t I? Do I?
(my shit gifsets are happy(er)!? Do Echo and Fives count? do they? LINEAGE counts! in my poor attempt to increase happy content i made TWO whole simple-gifs posts! (among 20 definite ‘sad’ gifsets): the poncho one and the jabba one!
do i personally take responsibility for unleashing extra sadness in the Clone Wars fandom?

there’re so many people said they’re crying! I hope you’re exaggerating and it didn’t actually made you cry? I’m almost as sorry as I was for the Hesitation set. (even though this was totally expected and that one wasn’t). Sometimes I’m really sorry for sad posts, especially when I didn’t mean to (Echo + Fives) or when it wasn’t that sad for me (e.g. memories twin set, because i shouted about it during the finale), and I’m thankful for EVERY comment in the tags. But well, it’s a form of self-expression and that’s why I love posting about Anakin and Ahsoka so much, and I get to drag all of you down with me (☞゚ヮ゚)☞ !
it’s been sooooo long i made a gifset designed for pain, wow i forgot how... fulfillingly devilish it made me 😈) and it’s really more Dave’s credit than mine (even though i stuck around after the first draft to brush-select ahsoka’s shadow)
I always thought those two are separate artworks and Vader’s is a variant comic cover. but Mags’s tags reminded me and I clicked on the source of that post. It was a kriffin’ TRANSITION. I immediately knew that I have to make a show version of the that. I could see it in my head even transition gifsets is something I’ve never done before. It’s fairly easy skill-wise but when I opened Shadow of Malevolence to gif the very last scene, I was in tears before I knew it. It’s been more than a month, and Some Time since I broke into tears for them. While that frame has always been my favourite, I’ve not revisited it in its pure form since Twilight of the Apprentice. and to think of that frame in the context of the finale, knowing now we are awarded the exact shot needed to make it... the culmination of our loss with Anakin and Ahsoka.... it’s weighs on my lips... clasped them silent in mourning.
I think I cried a second time finishing that gif. I don’t remember because I have to look at it over and over again to troubleshoot. I had an extra two days to stare at it in my drafts before finally publishing it. so... know that I feel your pain, and I’m enjoying your pain. ☜(゚ヮ゚☜)

Listen up, I don’t believe in destiny, but these ships were meant to be. It was written in the stars. Or something.
