This week we said goodbye to HBO Max's DOOM PATROL, but we will have a tiny bit of the show left behind. In a roundabout manner by way of Netflix's upcoming supernatural series DEAD BOY DETECTIVES.
The Dead Boy Detectives - created by Neil Gaiman, and officially part of the Sandman universe - had their own title through DC Comics' imprint Vertigo -appeared in S3E03 of DOOM PATROL.
Sebastian Croft (Heartstoppers), Madalyn Horcher (Big Sky) and Ty Tennant (House of the Dragon) as Dead Boy Detective Agency's Charles Rowland, Crystal Palace and Edwin Paine.
It was Ty's first Gaiman gig, but not the last.
Shortly after their appearance it was announced that they will get their own series, but without the three leads.
Our new DEAD BOY DETECTIVES: George Rexstrew (Edwin Paine), Jayden Revri (Charles Rowland, THE LODGE) and Crystal (Kassius Nelson, Hollyoaks).
And while this version is supposed to be separate from the DOOM PATROL universe, Ruth Connell reprises her DOOM PATROL character, Night Nurse.
I wonder if they'll keep the DP storyline about Edwin having feelings for Charles?
i swear to god, every single mlm tv couple i can think of is between one black haired angsty boy and a brunette/blonde boy with mommy/daddy issues or who hasn't come to terms with their sexuality yet
like...it can't be a coincidence.
(for readers of the webtoon, y'all know that nick kind of has daddy issues cuz his dad is kind of never around so it counts)
they're literally all just different variations of the same character and im totally here for it.
