With the (I believe) return of Ink5oul everyone’s favourite ominous NB tattooist, I thought it was so neat how we got another instance of a tattoo that was imbued with power. The description of it reminded me a lot of how OG Mag uses the Leitners:

Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaeangliae)

Conservation Status- Least Concern

Habitat- Southern Ocean; Northern Pacific Ocean; Northern Atlantic Ocean

Size (Weight/Length)- 36 metric tonnes; 15 m

Diet- Krill; Small fish

Cool Facts- Humpbacks whales are easily identifiable by having the longest flipper in proportion to body length of any whale. Barnacles line the sides of their flippers, making them dangerous weapons that are used to fight off anything from orcas to overly dominant males. Humpbacks only group together during mass feedings and males competing for a female’s attention. During courting, males will show off their strength by breaching two-thirds of their body from the water and splashing back down. They also have a song that can last up to 30 minutes that can further convince a female to undergo an eleven month pregnancy. While humpbacks have multiple different hunting tactics, bubble-net fishing is certainly the most impressive in which a whale, or a group of whales, blows a curtain of bubbles to corral fish or krill for easy pickings. Almost hunted to extinction by the 1970s, mass protection and anti-whaling campaigns have caused their numbers to skyrocket. Today, humpback whales are still threatened by fishing, boat strikes, and human-caused noise.

this literally happens every week but i have a mini assignment due on tuesday mornings for my seminar, which means i stay up all night to do it last minute on monday nights (hence the ugly photos at 2 a.m.😁 i honestly have no idea how i made it this far in my academic career (graduating law school next spring) but.. yeah i got no words of wisdom....🏃‍♀️

How am I supposed to move on with my life knowing that Jon was doomed from the beginning? The second touched that goddamned Lietner he was done for. And Elias knew this. That's why he made Jon head Archivist. That's why he put Jon through all that bullshit. And that's why he told Jon in his little ritual-statement that it was all just rotten luck because he couldn’t let Jon believe that he had any chance of saving the world.

Another Tuesday, another live tape! It's still Tuesday in my timezone this still counts okay. This show is the oldest open tab I have on my phone of the Live Music Archive. Full honesty I don't actually remember listening to this show but I'm sure that I did. It's a really excellent show - a lot of All Eternals Deck songs, a really great Home Again Garden Grove, You Were Cool. I chose Seeing Daylight because it's a song from this set that I'm not very familiar with and I really loved this delivery of it.

Laughing because in World's Finest #11, Bruce wanted Dick to go with him but Dick was basically like, "Nah, I'm going with Clark, actually. Sorry, Dad #1, but Dad #2 has the traumatized kid, and I need to go with him to act as emotional support."

No but I love how Dick was such an adult one second and would ask about Clark's well-being in a very Batman-esque way ("Progress?") and then in the next second he kind of had that childish optimism and was all, "Superman never lies."

Not to mention that after Clark promised David that he would find him one day, and after David was forcefully ejected to another earth, Dick was the one who comforted Clark after David left by stating that they would see David again one day. When Clark asked how Dick was so sure about that, Dick's optimism kicked back in as he reiterated, "Superman never lies."

something about being created fully formed in the semblance of a human adult. something about never having a time to grow up, never being raised by anyone, and yet outliving everyone. only experiencing the fleeting nature of humanity through witnessing thousands of years of your friends funerals. something about crowley's love for children despite never having had a childhood of his own. something about an existence as a celestial being mirroring humanity in some ways and being entirely alien in others. something about crowley and aziraphale's deep love for humanity despite forever being a stranger to it. despite never quite being able to fully relate to anyone else around them but eachother.
