Machine a Habiter Set

During the beginning of the century, architecture sought to generate beauty as well as to have an impact on the lives of the inhabitants. Houses had to be efficient, practical and functional as artifices that serve the tasks for which they were invented.

Machine e Habiter is a particular set, which offers a wide variety of residential lots of different sizes and needs. All the plans are taken from real houses for sale during the 1940s in Argentina, which allow for a myriad of different styles with the same basic format.

People are determined to build and settle down in a quiet place with their future families, although due to lack of technical knowledge they cannot escape from doubts at the moment of building: "Shouldn't the kitchen be visible from the living room?" "Should the main bedrooms be far from the toilet?" "Do I want a lighted or safe space?"

I decided to publish a set of 22 base houses, built between 1890-1960 published in national property magazines, worker's housing plans, university analysis or inspired by well-known houses.

The houses are empty to allow for a custom design for each person, to help with the tricky part of wanting to design an old house without falling into modern ideas.

Each one has inside a JPG. FILE with how the spaces are distributed inside and photos of the house.

The lots use windows from @felixandresims, @harrie and @illogicalsims and one (House 19) from @peacemaker-ic, as they are the closest to the originals, but they can be replaced by other ones. The windows and doors are from the following sets:

My medieval castle & surrounding village

ok.... one of my medieval villages, lol. ... I really do love that era of architecture.

This is my Knights Keep, on a hill surrounded by a small village. I actually built this for a D&D campaign, so it has all the necessary pieces: Castle & a Dungeon, potions shop, tavern & pub, church/temple, book shop, alchemist shop, and of course the quintessential "fence" for stolen (and highly questionable) goods...

Ida’s siblings irritated her. As they crowded around her to complain that their children were too young or innocent to be “conditioned” by their outlandish Aunt Ida, she found it almost hysterical that they stood beneath their mother’s portrait. She criticized them for sheltering their children just as their parents had before ridiculing her eldest brother and sister for keeping reality from her and Nettie and repeating their mistakes. Lastly, Ida was remorseful for her nieces and nephews. It was in a child’s nature to be curious and teaching them at home was a way to ensure they wouldn’t go out to try and seek such information themselves, as she did once.

None of her words appeared to resonate with her siblings, but she didn’t mind. They would learn the same lesson their mother did in due time.

270 Lake Front Drive

The Weiboldt-Rostone House (1933)

Built for the Century of Progress Chicago World's Fair to showcase new building materials and ideas, the Weiboldt-Rostone house was floated across Lake Michigan on a barge and placed in Beverly Shores Indiana at the Conclusion of the Fair, with the help of my great-grandfather.

The Weiboldt-Rostone house is architecturally significant for it's use of Rostone, a synthetic stone composed of shale and limestone waste, which was supposed to be maintenance-free (it was not, and only lasted until the 1950s).

Please enjoy my build of the Weiboldt-Rostone house which I have made as accurate as possible using surveys from the Library of Congress and post-restoration photos. The build uses many packs, but no custom content. It must be placed with moveobjects on.

When the survey was conducted, not much of the Rostone house remained. The bones of the main floors were easy enough to decipher, but many small rooms in the basement, which was added after the house came off the barge, refused to share their secrets. I've drawn conclusions for these rooms based on their location, windows, and what little we do know.

I hope you enjoy playing with this little piece of oft-forgotten history that has a special family connection for me.

Antiquated Brindleton

An 1890s Decades Challenge Save File

This save has been almost a year in the making, but it's finally here! It includes a completely rebuilt Brindleton Bay inspired by historic New England towns and set in the 1890s. This save uses a light amount of historical cc and most of the packs.

Includes:

Eight new residential lots

Seven new community lots

Six new households

Builds and households are all located in Brindleton Bay. The world is intended to be historically accurate to about 1890, though some liberties for functionality have been taken.

Builds in other worlds have been deleted. The necessary buildings, like dorms, active career lots, and the high school, have all been left in place.

Townies have been evicted, but not deleted, as I prefer EA townies to fully randomized townies.

If you’d like more period appropriate townies to add, the lovely @jewishsimming has some great historical ones to download and @cowplant-snacks has an amazing tutorial on how to manage your townies with MCCC.

REQUIREMENTS: I have all the packs except Batuu and some of the kits. I didn’t limit myself when building. I don’t have everything listed out here, but I will be uploading all the lots and households to my gallery, so if you’d like to know specific pack usage you’ll be able to check there. If you load in and things are replaced or missing and you think it looks obvious feel free to message me, I’m always happy to try to help you find something else that fits! This save includes historical CC, some is included in my download in folders and some you will need to download from the creators directly. The CC required is listed and linked below, you need to download these linked pieces in ADDITION to the included cc folders.

DOWNLOAD: There are five zipped folders to download, four of which contain included cc, and one which includes the save itself.

Download the "AB_SaveFile" folder, unzip it and simply move the file inside to your saves folder inside your Sims 4 folder (where your mods folder is located).

The included cc is in four folders (to allow for easier upload/download) for build, buy, clothing, and hair. Simply download the folders, unzip them, and place them in your mods folder.

After this you should be good to load up your game and get playing, let me know if you run into any issues, I'm happy to try to troubleshoot. Happy Halloween 🎃

Explore the corridors and wards of the abandoned Moonwood Mill Hospital, create your own stories, or simply populate this huge lot with your characters.

As always, I went wild with mods so you need to download near 2 GB of custom content (separated on interior and exterior, some is included). But I hope you will be interested in wandering around the dilapidated premises of the hospital.

You can see the same CC I used in my Academy of Lev I, so maybe you won't need to download much if you already have this building.

And don't forget to look into the basement

Knossian Board Game

This is modeled after an ancient bronze age artefact unearthed at Knossos, believed by archeologists to be an early board game.

The game is a chess clone and playing it will increase the logic skill.

Make sure when you are placing the object in build mode, you first attach chairs to the board game itself, and then place a table of your choosing underneath the game (using the commands testingcheats true and then bb.moveobjects on). If you do not follow these steps, the sims will not be able to sit and play!

Lilis Palace, quite literally

Hello everyone, I have been working on this Hungarian-inspired mansion for quite a while now, and although I have taken many liberties (especially the back area with the pool) I think it looks Hungarian enough, especially thanks to the amazing cc from @lilis-palace,

Not Marie Antoinette's Drawing Room

Happy Sunday my Darlins!!

For all of you who've been following my epic (hilariously ridiculous) #Help I Accidentally Built a Palace adventure, we now return to the scene of the almost-a-crime.

We left off last night with my tantrum about the horrific fashion crime of Marie Antoinette's taste in wallpaper. As my finger trembled in frustration, hovering over the bulldozer button, I finally closed down my Sims4 game before I did something I'd regret in the morning.

I'm happy to say that after an afternoon of spending a ludicrous amount of time picking out new wallpaper..... The Grand Formal Drawing Room is now complete!!!
