Machine a Habiter Set

During the beginning of the century, architecture sought to generate beauty as well as to have an impact on the lives of the inhabitants. Houses had to be efficient, practical and functional as artifices that serve the tasks for which they were invented.

Machine e Habiter is a particular set, which offers a wide variety of residential lots of different sizes and needs. All the plans are taken from real houses for sale during the 1940s in Argentina, which allow for a myriad of different styles with the same basic format.

People are determined to build and settle down in a quiet place with their future families, although due to lack of technical knowledge they cannot escape from doubts at the moment of building: "Shouldn't the kitchen be visible from the living room?" "Should the main bedrooms be far from the toilet?" "Do I want a lighted or safe space?"

I decided to publish a set of 22 base houses, built between 1890-1960 published in national property magazines, worker's housing plans, university analysis or inspired by well-known houses.

The houses are empty to allow for a custom design for each person, to help with the tricky part of wanting to design an old house without falling into modern ideas.

Each one has inside a JPG. FILE with how the spaces are distributed inside and photos of the house.

The lots use windows from @felixandresims, @harrie and @illogicalsims and one (House 19) from @peacemaker-ic, as they are the closest to the originals, but they can be replaced by other ones. The windows and doors are from the following sets:

Maybe it's slightly late for Autumn builds but not for me :D

This was inspired by small house I've seen on Youtube, I fell in love with this rounded sun room, and even bugs that we got with round walls didn't stop me this time... Even if placing windows was a huuuuuge pain in my a-- buns? Originally, this place in real life didn't have second floor, but original floorplan didn't work for me except for sun room that became entry/dining room. This place is perfect for gardeners or those who want to hide from city life in this cozy, brown-tones-filled cabin.

"A cozy hideaway nestled by nature and gifted with waterfront access."

@awingedllama added 10 years to my life with their new Nostalgia Living set, so I built a house for you all. It combines my favorite things: 90s nostalgia and Halloween decor (Yes I am ready for summer to end). It was built in Copperdale on the 20x20 lot "Little Falls Nook."

I chose 711 for the house numbers because the Nostalgia Living Set came out on July 11th; the street name is "Winged Llama Lane" for obvious reasons, but I felt clever about it nonetheless lmao. I hope you all enjoy!

my bff, @superfreshcreativejuices, posted a couple of algorithmically derived images (blegh!), noting that they would be great tiny houses in ts4. the above is obviously not a tiny house, but even being conservative about the collective footprint, the one I chose to render came in at 102. so I gave up on trying to make it tiny and just tried to make it make sense (a too careful look at the images hurt my brain, so just take a glance, if you look at all).

if it weren't for the arches, it would be a nocc build, but alas...

update: lot has now been playtested and uploaded to the gallery.

Sanditon Cottage is a Regency cottage in the Windenburg countryside. Set at the end of a country road and bordering picturesque Lake Windenburg, this rural idyll is perfect for society Sims looking for somewhere to retreat to after the hectic whirl of a busy Season, to soothe overwrought nerves or escape from any scandals that might have befallen them.

I imagine this as a country second home, as I can’t see a well-off Regency family having a house this small as their primary residence. A lot of buildings referred to by wealthy people as ‘cottages’ are about five times as big as this one. I only just got it down to the largest tiny home size through creative alcove usage (it’s exactly 100 tiles).

There are a few items that are anachronistic for the Regency period: a radiator on the landing which you can easily delete, the sink and bathtub (although not the toilet! Flushing toilets were invented in 1596), the fridge and arguably the lights. I didn’t feel like any of the candle lighting options fit this build, so I’m going to say that the lights I used have candles under the shades. You could also play this as a Regency-built cottage in a later time period.

Some recommended CC if you want to make it more historically accurate for Regency gameplay: this basin by @peebsplays, this ‘fridge’ by plasticbox, and this bathtub by @pandorasimbox.

*I realised after I had already uploaded this that the toilet didn’t work for some stupid reason. The Gallery wasn’t cooperating to let me re-upload it but all you have to do is move the toilet forward a tiny bit using the Alt key and it works just fine.

SAKURA HIDEAWAY

Well, it’s going to be my first build posted as it is small and I really love how it turned out. This build was inspired by this-one-picture-from-pinterest of a Japanese city house that I found a long time ago thinking that I would never be able to recreate the exterior but look, it’s possible. The interior isn’t though as I don’t have/the game doesn’t have any Japanese-style objects.

This build was made with simself and my gf in mind, so it has some rooms for our work and my spellwork and also includes our photos.

This modern mini-mantion is based on city houses from far-far country that is filled with Cherry trees. It's interesting on the outside and comfy on the inside. Also has a place for your spellcaster. Includes:

1 bedroom;

1 bathroom;

2 pet bowls and a 2 litter box so you can have some pets;

1 office with 2 pcs;

1 spellcaster corner on the top floor.

I’ve really been into beach and/or coastal homes lately. I had a lot of fun with this house. Even though the lot is pretty small (20×20) I think this is my favorite house so far that I’ve built. I love the water and this house is right on the beach. It’s and open floor plan with views of the ocean from each part of the living room, dining room, and kitchen. There are 3 bedrooms, the top floor is a mainly an artist studio/ guestroom. There’s a master en suite and a bedroom for a teen or maybe ever an older child like pre-teen age (even though that life stage doesn’t exists in TS4). There are two full and one half bath. Building this house made me so happy and especially looking at the pictures because of the design. This is my fourth house I’ve built in the Cavalier Cove area of Brindleton Bay. I own all the packs although not every pack was used and there are some packs that just use one or two items that are easily replaceable if you do not have all the packs. Enjoy and Happy Simming!
