You were an odd thing, curious, maybe a little strange, but like learning anything, everyone had grown accustomed to your weird little habits. Everyone except for Neteyam, the clan leader’s son. And the weird habit in question was poorly-expressed words of adoration that seemed to meld into unconventional confessions as you got older.
It started when you two were eight, perhaps nine. The two of you were in a village elder’s tent, learning the best ways to debone fish to prepare for meals when she’d ducked out for a moment and left the two of you in a cloud of uncomfortable silence.
Neteyam’s fingers were nimble, swift, while you lagged behind, eyes fluttering to the way he seemed to grasp the elder’s instruction with more ease than you.
“We should always be together,” you’d said absently, still fiddling with the same fish while Neteyam moved onto the next. “I will be useless to our family without you.”
Neteyam’s spine had gone rigid, gaze wide as he side-eyed you from his seat.
“Huh?” He’d clearly been caught off guard, ministrations on the catch frozen as his eyebrows furrowed.
“When we are married,” you’d said, holding the bone structure of your first fish triumphantly.
“Married?” he parroted shrilly, fully turning to face you.
You looked up from your task, nodding like it was the most common of knowledge.
“Yes, Neteyam,” you affirmed, chuffing a small laugh. “In the future, when we are married.”
Tumblr media
Neteyam wouldn’t have been so off put had the comment been a one time thing, but they were frequent, spoken both in the quiet of much-dreaded time alone with you and hushed whispers in the midst of the other villagers your age.
It wasn’t any help that his parents seemed to always set the two of you up in many endeavors over the course of your adolescence. And he’d tried, tried so hard to shake you over the years, but you were glued to his hip.
You look handsome today, you’d say often, regardless. Training is paying off, whispered in his ear as your fingertips smoothe over the skin of his biceps. I hope the little ones grow to be as mighty as you are, spoken after sessions in the archery circle. The comments are all fleeting, mentioned in passing like a casual word, but they make Neteyam warm, make his cheeks heat when he searches your face for any betrayal of emotion.
But all he’s met with is an expression that borders smug, one that makes him wonder why, out of all of the boys growing into fine young men over the course of your adolescence, had you picked him to be the object of your affections.
Try as he might, to be short-tempered, callous, you were always there. He sought the attention of other women, tried to put as many bodies between the two of you, but you were relentless, smiled gently when you’d catch his wandering hands against the skin of another, would turn a blind eye when his lips brushed too intimately over eager ears.
At first he figured that maybe it was because he was the first boy you’d encountered and it’d just been the way the cards were dealt. At times he thought you were messing with him, a long-running joke between you and some unknown entities to fuck around with his feelings. His current theory, however, is one that he sits more confidently on when he begins observing you.
You spend an awful amount of time not only tailing him, but tailing his family, pestering Kiri and Lo’ak about god knows what, spending many afternoons schmoozing with his parents, seeking guidance from Mo’at.
He comes to the conclusion, after some time, that you’re trying to solidify your place within his family, trying to secure your role next to him as the future leader of the clan. This much is confirmed when his parents bring up the sore topic of you one night once everyone has turned in after the evening meal.
“The time for your selection feast is arriving,” Neytiri says hesitantly, like she’s treading on thin ice.
Neteyam has an inkling where this conversation will go when Jake shifts to sit next to his partner, the perfect picture of what a love that transcends all should look like. But he doesn’t know love, just knows preparing for his future and what ruling the clan will look like.
“Yeah,” Neteyam agrees.
“Do you have someone in mind?” Jake prods, busying himself by toying with his songchord.
To his dismay, you briefly eclipse his mind, the annoyingly beautiful girl he’d grown up with but, even a decade later, still can’t seem to get a good read on.
“No,” he answers slowly.
His parents seem to chew on this for a moment, glancing at each other momentarily before Neytiri draws in a deep breath and focuses her attention on her oldest son all over again.
“Well…your father and I believe that perhaps ________ could be a good choice.”
It’s like a bomb detonates, but the aftershocks are only seen in the way Neteyam’s lips purse and his brows furrow.
He’s not one to go against his parents, but he’ll be damned if he has to spend forever with you.
“No,” he repeats, but with time with vindication.
Jake looks stunned, back straightening as he takes his son in with wary eyes.
“No?”
“No,” Neteyam reiterates. “I would rather spend my life alone than spend it with her.”
“Neteyam,” Neytiri sighs.
“I’m sorry, Mom, I won’t,” he says firmly, swallowing down the lump in his throat as he glances between both of his parents, hoping, wishing that maybe they’ll see that this isn’t a good idea.
“Maitan, you don’t understand,” Neytiri says softly. “When you and ________ were born, Ewya gave us a sign.”
Neteyam’s blood runs cold.
“So this has already been decided?” he asks, voice eerily steady.
“Not necessarily,” Jake interjects. “We didn’t want you two to feel like you were being forced to be together so we hoped that encouraging you both to spend time together would allow something to develop…”
“But they haven’t, so now it’s a not-so-silent push,” he says shortly.
His parents share another look and he feels annoyance beginning to form in his gut.
“We wouldn’t say that there aren’t any feelings there,” Neytiri says.
Neteyam breathes a humorless laugh as he shakes his head in disbelief.
“I don’t feel anything for her,” he says with finality. “Nothing about a union with her piques my interest. We’ve been in close proximity since birth but my heart feels more for the trees in the forest than it ever will for ________.”
Jake squeezes his eyes shut.
“Have you thought about giving her a chance?” he pushes. “She’s a lovely girl, really likes you.”
That draws another huff of humorless laughter from Neteyam.
“The only thing she’s interested in is status and being tsahik,” Neteyam scoffs. “There is nothing there.”
Neytiri opens her mouth to say something, but Neteyam has mustered up as polite an excuse as he can as he stands to his feet and bows his head to his parents.
When he ducks from the tent, he doesn’t expect to see you lingering outside of the exit.
His face morphs as the quiet words leave your lips.
“You doubt my affections for you.” It’s a statement and a question wrapped in one, but you’re resigned, like always, and Neteyam can’t seem to grasp what you’re trying to get at clinging to him, to whatever this dynamic is.
“What’s this game you’re playing?” he accuses, eyes narrowed.
“What game?” you ask, gaze unfaltering as you stare up at him with those round golden eyes.
He lets out a frustrated sigh.
“Our entire lives, from being kids to now, you’ve toyed with me,” he says fiercely. “With this idea of us. Why? I’ve given you no reasons to be fond of me, yet you’re always here, there, everywhere.”
“I have much to be fond of,” is your simple answer and Neteyam could groan in frustration.
“Like what? Being the olo’eyktan’s son? Holding the future of this clan in my hands?” he asks sharply.
“I would love you, circumstances withstanding,” you respond. “You don’t have to be afraid.”
Love.
What an odd concept, weird. One that Neteyam can’t seem to wrap his mind around when it comes to you. Doesn’t think he ever will.
“Afraid of what?” he bites.
“Of loving me back,” you say.
He grimaces like the very thought disgusts him, like you’re an aversion he desperately wants to rid of. And perhaps you are, you realize, seeing years of pent up frustration and anger culminating into one big wound ready to rupture.
“You think I love you?” he asks incredulously.
He doesn’t miss the way you shrink, blinking quickly.
“If you gave us a chance, maybe,” you whisper.
It sounds like the conversation with his parents all over again and realization seems to shutter across his features as he looks down at you.
“How long have you known?”
“Known what?” you ask quietly.
“How long have you known that they’re trying to force us to be together?” he asks.
You’re silent for a moment before muttering something under your breath.
“What?” he snaps.
“They aren’t forcing us,” you clear your throat. “Not me, at least.”
He scoffs.
“Of course,” he mocks. “Because it only matters what you want out of this. Not that for the last decade I’ve been trying to get you to back off, trying to get you to understand that I don’t want this. I don’t want us, and if it means forfeiting my responsibilities, then so be it.”
It’s a lofty statement, one that seals the last nail on your coffin.
You’d loved Neteyam for as long as you can remember, have probably liked him for longer. When your parents told you early on that Eywa had given both of your families a sign that you and Neteyam were meant for one another, you’d embraced the idea wholeheartedly. Loved the idea of loving him even through moments when he’d try to drive a wedge between the two of you.
Give him time, your parents had said to you. Jake and Neytiri want his feelings to develop naturally.
And you waited. God, you waited, for so long. Waited for him to come around, to realize the things he did to you. Perhaps you had been too presumptuous, thinking that he’d be able to read you behind such a stoic facade, afraid that if you revealed too much of your wanting, you’d turn him off from the idea of being with you.
But as you stand here before him, small under such a burning gaze, you realize that it’d been wishful thinking. Choosing him meant nothing if he didn’t choose you back.
“I see…” you trail off quietly.
“Do you?” he asks, tone facetious.
You nod once, unable to meet his gaze. Unable to see that his expression twitches the tiniest amount when he clocks the way your body seems to deflate.
“Yeah,” you whisper. “I do.”
Tumblr media
His following days are quiet, filled with personal duties and commitments to the clan. He’d expected you to sleep off the night’s confrontation, he certainly had, a twinge of guilt searing his gut.
But you’re good at hiding, good at masking your feelings, good at disappearing. It doesn’t bother him at the beginning, figuring that you need your space, but then it’s a dull ache that ebbs into a grating gnaw as his every other thought flits to you and what you could be doing now that you’ve settled such a wide distance between himself and his family.
“You are injured a lot more these days,” Mo’at observes, slathering the viscous mixture over a cut between his shoulder blades.
He remains silent, doesn’t know how to admit that he’d been far more reckless these past few days in the hopes that he’d run into you in his grandmother’s quarters. A silent yearn to feel your skilled fingers work over his wounds, tender as you try to pry your way into his heart.
Mo’at had been the one you spent the most time with, diligently training in the chance that Neteyam would finally see you, would make you his. But right now, you’re nowhere to be found and all he’s rewarded with is his grandmother’s rough hands and inquisitive gaze.
“She made this salve,” Mo’at says, filling the silence with idle talk. “Found a recipe that speeds healing and softens the skin.”
“Did she?” Neteyam responds absently, imagining you picking and pruning the herbs yourself, frame languid as you move through the brush.
“Said she didn’t want her lover to have such tough skin.”
There’s laughter in his grandmother’s voice, but he can’t find it in himself to see the humor in the situation. Not when he’s beginning to see that maybe he’s not just another rung in the ladder for you, that duty is the most miniscule drop in your bucket.
“Where’s ________?” he asks after a moment, hissing through his teeth when his grandmother’s fingers prod the wound.
“Taking a break from her studies to assist Ama with the children,” she answers, and he misses the knowing look in her eyes. She pats his shoulder when she’s done patching him up. “She’s a fine young woman, Neteyam. Many of the villagers do not turn a blind eye to that fact. If she is not the one that your heart desires, give her the opportunity to align with one that does.”
It makes something ugly, green, roil in the pit of his stomach at the idea of you being the subject of houndish eyes. You’re too reserved, too sweet, too devoted to be anyone else’s.
And the thought floors him, makes the knot growing obnoxiously in his throat choke the air from his lungs.
“Yeah,” he agrees in a whisper.
And he knows that his grandmother is right. Knows that he shouldn’t be asking about you, doesn’t have the right to hold you hostage if the union is something that truly unsettles him. But the thought of letting go of whatever the two of you have is surprisingly indigestible.
Neteyam is frustrated, thoroughly disoriented now that all he can think of is you. He’d tried everything under the sun to shake you, to get you to throw your cards in first, but now that you have, it’s like you tug on a string tethered to his hellish heart.
He stands to his feet and turns to face Mo’at, giving a respectful nod before exiting the tent.
It’s wrong, he knows it, seeking you out after burning every bridge between the two of you, but he can’t help it. Can’t help but enter the clearing in the forest carved through with a stream that the little ones play in.
You’re exactly where his grandmother had said you were, sitting near the edge of the bubbling waters with Ama, a girl a few years your senior. The children are giggling, laughing as they splash each other, splash you. The expression on your face falters a little, stern as you adjust the netting strapped to your chest.
The air is trapped in his lungs as he realizes. Sees the little head that peeks from the top of the fabric, ear pressed to your heart as you cover the baby’s head from the children’s gleeful laughter.
“That’s not very nice,” you say gently. “Your little sister is trying to sleep.”
Your voice makes the hairs on the back of his neck prick, a soft rasp that’s haunted him for the last few sleepless nights. It’s odd, seeing you in this light, relaxed from your lack of duties. You’re in your element like this, smiling and coddling the children of the clan as they climb over you and poke and prod.
“Teyam!” One of them clocks him before he can retreat and his spine is going stiff, stomach turning when he sees the way your expression melts.
“Hi,” he greets simply, unable to form anything more solid in the fears that he’ll spook you.
The kids start emerging from the stream one by one, surrounding him as he takes a few tentative steps into the clearing.
“Neteyam,” Ama greets cordially, eyes flitting between the two of you as you busy yourself with the little one strapped to your chest.
Neteyam, on the other hand, can’t keep his eyes off of you. He’s silently pleading with Eywa, with whatever other force lies out of reach that you’ll just look at him. But you’re locked up tighter than a vault, obviously still reeling from the confrontation all those days ago.
He hums your name, gentle like a prayer. Your eyes are hesitant, watching the snoozing baby in your arms before glancing at the remaining children in the stream before finally meeting his longing gaze.
“Can we talk?” he asks you, flashing one of the curious kids a brief smile when they tug on the hem of his loincloth.
Your response is far more blunt than he’d expected, taken aback when you murmur a firm, “No.”
He supposes that he deserves that, has earned the warmth that eclipses over his cheeks as the children watch the exchange with inquisitive eyes. And the way you stand to your feet to wrangle the village’s little ones is merited, telling them that playtime is over.
But as Ama helps you gather their things, sensing the obvious tension between you and the olo’eyktan’s son, he realizes that he can’t just let this go. He won’t. Not without making things right, without telling you that loving you isn’t the hard part, it could never be.
But agency is something his parents have withheld from him his entire life, molded him into being the perfect son that bends to the clan’s every beck and call. Loving you was just another thing to add to the list of things he did for everyone else’s sake but his own.
He sees now, though, sees that loving you, being in love with you isn’t a difficult feat. Not when he’s been given the smallest glance into what having a future could be like with you. Especially not when he’s learned so many things about you in the moments where you’re a fleeting plume of smoke that surrounds and chokes him all the same.
He calls your name again, firm this time around. There’s a stutter in your step, he sees the way your shoulders draw taut with a labored sigh.
You murmur something to Ama, undoing the ties to the netting that carries the dozing infant. Neteyam watches as you shush the kids, reminding them to be good to their tsmuke on their journey through the forest.
Your fingers are gentle as you tie the last knot, brushing Ama’s shoulders lightly as you tell her you’ll catch up with her shortly.
When they’re out of earshot, clambering back into the village circle, you turn on your heel, standing on the opposite side of the embankment. The glittering waters gurgle between the two of you as you wait patiently for Neteyam to muster his courage.
“About our union,” he starts. “I–”
“I’ve told my parents to forgo the preparations,” you say softly, seemingly unbothered as you pay more attention to the blades of grass that tickle your ankles.
Neteyam’s spine stiffens.
“Why would you…”
“You don’t want this,” you repeat his words from the fall out. “You don’t want us. We’ll both be unhappy.”
It makes his heart squeeze.
“You would be so unhappy in our union?” he scoffs, like he’s cracked the code.
He doesn’t expect the humorless laugh that spills past your lips, obviously laden with tears when he focuses hard enough.
“Of course I would, Neteyam,” you say fiercely, quietly. “I have spent so much of my life being so disgustingly in love with you when all you’ve wanted was me gone. Do you really think I’d let myself suffer at the expense of someone who would rather be alone than be forced to spend time with the likes of me.”
You make it sound horrible. And perhaps it was, being so taken by someone who’s life mission was to sever every carefully stitched tie.
He doesn’t know what to say, doesn’t know how to tell you that he’s coming to terms with the fact that maybe he’s been gravely mistaken this entire time.
“So have your freedom,” you say chillingly. “I surrender.”
He’s closing the distance between the two of you, splashing through the shallow river to root you to place, fingers wrapped tightly around your elbow.
You snatch away from his grasp, turning so sharply, he stumbles back. The pad of your finger pokes harshly into his chest, tear-filled eyes brimming as your gaze searches his face.
“Don’t be heartless,” you hiss. “If there is one thing I will ask of you it is to leave me alone.”
The distance between the two of you widens as you pluck your bow and quiver nearby and rush off into the brush, leaving Neteyam in the quieting clearing to allow the weight of your words sink to his bones.
Tumblr media
He doesn’t know how long he stands there, watching the same spot you’d disappeared past, but the forest is beginning to glow and he should be home soon.
The entire encounter puts him on edge as he climbs through the foliage, moving over fallen logs and blooming flora. His muscles are taut, shoulders tight as he maps the long route back home.
It’s only when a sudden crack in the distance sounds that he becomes aware of how still the forest seems around him, like there are eyes and ears watching his every move.
A look in the sky reveals a darkening swathe of midnight, leaves gleaming from outstretched branches. As he surveys his surroundings, his ears prick, picking up the most minute of sounds, rhythmic against the dense grass.
His hand is on his dagger in an instant, eyes wild as he holds his breath. The pulse is nearing, almost insignificant against the backdrop of nature’s call, but something isn’t right and it makes nausea stir in his stomach.
He blinks once, twice, before something closes over his mouth and a body seems to fuse against his back.
“It’s me.” Your voice is ragged, hushed against the shell of his ear, and he nearly melts, fingers loosening from around the hilt of his knife.
“I–”
“Don’t speak,” you warn. “They are near.”
He tenses again as you move your bodies behind a curtain of green, off the trodden path.
“There are five of them,” you whisper and he shivers something fierce. “Two down, three on foot.”
After years of training from his father, he knows who they are.
“How did you…why do you–”
“You didn’t return to the village,” you hiss.
His heart skips a beat, thrumming because even if you’d been angry at him, you’d noticed his absence. Had gone looking for him, even. He turns to face you, wants to tell you that he’d do anything to make things right, but he realizes that now’s not a good time.
You’re pale, gravely so, a feral look in your eyes as you grasp at your left side.
Blood. You’re bleeding.
“What the fuck?”
“Stop,” you breathe shakily. “Not now.”
“________, you’re wounded!” he protests.
You slap a hand over his mouth, golden eyes widening as you press closer to him.
He takes the opportunity to peer over your shoulder in pursuit of an exit wound and sighs when he finds the skin still intact.
“You’re hurt,” he tries again, grabbing the wrist clutching your side.
You shake your head vehemently.
“Stop it, Neteyam,” you plead hoarsely. “We need to get rid of them before they find the village.”
You’re right, he realizes, swallowing down the lump in his throat as he notes the tremble of your lip and the furrow between your brows.
“Okay,” he swallows, nodding hesitantly. “Okay.”
“Near the Tree of Souls,” you tell him, knees shaky as you draw an arrow and load your bow.
You creep forward slowly, willowy frame shielding Neteyam as you move through the forest.
He barely notices, only sees it when you pause a moment too long, body twitching as the bow quivers in your loosening grasp.
“________?” Neteyam’s voice is testing, closing the berth.
Your bow lowers, fingers brushing over the wound once again. When you assess the wetness of the pads of your fingers, Neteyam’s able to get a good look at the damage.
His eyes widen, grabbing your shoulders tightly when he sees that your eyes are drooping.
“Wait,” he says sharply. “Don’t—”
Your bloody hand brushes his chin.
“Make sure…make sure they are…”
Tumblr media
“She must rest.”
“It will only be for a moment.”
The words slur together, distant and muddy as your eyes flicker open to assess your surroundings.
“Maite, you are awake.” Your mother kneels next to you, expression a picture of harrowing concern. “Oh, Eywa, I’m glad you are awake.”
It returns in waves, like the ebb and flow of water dousing you. The enemy, in bodies like your own, ruthless to creatures both gentle and roaring. Clothed like humans with gear so imposing, you nearly shrunk with such a small bow and only enough arrows to make each shot count.
You’d taken out two of them with shaky hands before their hailing bullets pierced the trunks of trees and left gaping holes in the leaves. One had landed, lodged its way right above the left side of your pelvis.
It aches as you sit up, seeing the aftermath of what must have been a grisly extraction.
“Stop, stop,” your mother says quickly, hands on your shoulders to guide you back. “You will disturb Mo’at’s work.”
“There are more of them,” you rush. “They are–”
“Shh, my child,” she coaxes. “They are gone.”
It had been a horrific sight, seeing Neteyam carrying you back to the village, limp and listless, covered in the blood of multiple parties with a nearly animalistic look in his eye.
“Where is Neteyam?” you whisper, lashes wet.
The look on your mother’s face softens with pity, knowing, as she sees it written all over your face.
She’d known it before and she’d known it after you approached her and your father with the request to call off the union.
I don’t love him, you’d said, unable to meet their eyes as you confessed. Eywa’s made a mistake with us. I want to be with someone that I love.
You’d been embarrassed, wanted to save face. You didn’t want them to know that the only man you’d ever known from adolescence to young adulthood hadn’t wanted a thing to do with you.
“I’m here.”
Neteyam’s entering the tent with your father hot on his heels, obviously defying his wishes to leave you be.
His forearm is wrapped in medicinal leaves, tied off with thin vine. A cut slices his brow bone, the wound still red and raw.
“I told you–”
Your mother shoots your father a contemptuous look before turning to you to smooth some of the hair away from your face.
“Eywa makes no mistakes, Maite,” she whispers, gaze pleading.
She’s on her feet, crossing the tent to meet Neteyam half way. With a comforting squeeze to his shoulder, she pushes your protesting father through the hide and suddenly the air is shrouded in silence save for your labored breathing and the weight of the eldest Sully’s gaze.
“I thought I lost you,” Neteyam says, the tiniest inflection of trembling pricking your ears.
You blink, watching as he stands at the end of the mat. He’s fidgeting but his eyes are searing, shaking with tears as he stares at you unblinking—like you’ll disappear between the shutter of his heavy eyelids.
You don’t know what to say, the lump lodged in your throat far too thick for you to form coherent words around.
Neteyam continues for the both of you.
“I thought that I wouldn’t…that I…”
You watch as he crumbles.
“Wouldn’t what?” you finally ask, voice dry.
“I thought that I wouldn’t be able to give us a chance.”
Your jaw tenses, breaking eye contact first as you shake your head in defeat.
“There isn’t an us,” you sigh shakily. “Said so yourself.”
“Oh, come on,” Neteyam scoffs, voice thick with tears. “Don’t do that.”
“Do what?” you argue, clutching your injured side as it pulses with every beat of your thundering heart.
“Don’t—don’t give up on me yet,” he whispers. “Please.”
Your expression crumples and his face falls as you knuckle your tears away angrily.
“You’re cruel, Neteyam. So so cruel,” you murmur. “I am ashamed that you have my heart.”
The words are spoken with a quiet vindication that makes Neteyam feel like his nerve endings are fraying. A singular tear arcs over the swell of your cheek and an ache roots in his gut.
“Don’t say that,” he says, throat bobbing as he swallows the emotion threatening to bubble over. “I–”
“Neteyam.” Your father’s voice is stern, the flap of the tent flipping as he reenters.
Neteyam bites the inside of his lip as he spares you one last glance and your resolve dissipates when the broad expanse of his back faces you.
Tumblr media
You’d expected Neteyam taking his leave to be some semblance of closure for the two of you, as clean of a break as you could come to terms with now that any precarious ties that bound the two of you were severed. But you hadn’t anticipated the singular ember inside of Neteyam fanning to be engulfing and all-consuming.
“I know you’re there,” you say simply, plucking the petals and leaves from the flora to tuck into the small pouch strung across your chest.
He’d been following you all afternoon, lingering a safe distance away, but his eyes haven’t left your healing frame and what had initially been confusion began to bleed into annoyance.
“Pay me no mind,” he says simply, emerging from the brush with a bow and quiver.
It’s been over a week since the sky people had infiltrated your corner of the forest and Neteyam hasn’t let you leave his sight once.
From the morning eclipse to the evening’s, Neteyam’s doted on you; shearing chunks of fruit, grinding down your herbs for your treatments, rewrapping your wound under Mo’at’s careful supervision.
You’d asked him to give you a moment of peace in the forest alone, but it wasn’t long before you scented him, heard his labored breathing as he tried to keep up with you.
You heed his word, stonewalling his presence like he’s nothing but another leaf stretching from the trees. And for a while, a long stretch of silence surrounds the two of you as you venture deeper and deeper into the forest.
But before you know it, each one of your steps is exchanged like for like, his looming and muscular frame eclipsing you like a shadow as you try to ignore the fact that he’s drawing nearer.
You turn on your heel to face him just as he settles a pace away, eyes clear and golden.
“What?” you snip, taking a step back.
He takes a step forward.
“You should not overexert yourself,” he replies simply.
“And what happened to paying you no mind?”
His fingers brush your sore wound and your gaze flits to the way his fingertips ghost over the dressing wrapped around the expanse of your lower abdomen.
The grin he gives you has many layers. You immediately decipher something sly, coy, as he searches your face.
“I’ve changed my mind,” he says quietly. “I want you to pay me all the mind.”
Your expression is dry, eyes rolling as you step away from him. You’re swatting his palm away and shaking your head like a final warning.
“You don’t get to flirt with me after all this time,” you say, blanketing the semi-tense air with a cover of finality. “And you shouldn’t. There is no longer an obligation for us to be within vicinity of each other.”
You sound so cold, like you hadn’t spent the past decade pining after him in your own weird way. Like you hadn’t turned a blind eye when he found comfort in hopeful women despite wearing your heart on your oddly-stitched sleeve. Hadn’t been so willing to spend forever with him.
“You cannot dictate the turn of my heart,” Neteyam argues.
The look you give him could instill fear in even the most intimidating predators.
“You’d go to great lengths to quell a guilty conscience?” you ask. “Do not forget that forever is a long time. If nothing about our union piques your interest now, do not count on anything in the future.”
You’re feeling for buttons to push, tender spots that will make him let up, but Neteyam isn’t easily swayed. He doesn’t know if he loves you now, but the last few weeks make certain that he will. He isn’t ashamed to admit that he’s falling fast and hard.
“You’re not gonna get rid of me that easily, yawne.”
The nickname makes you freeze, makes your eyes narrow as you glare up at the future olo’eyktan.
“Don’t be insufferable, Neteyam.”
“Duties be damned, I’ll spend every remaining moment doing right by you,” he says, fingers threading through yours so that he can bring your knuckles to his lips.
Your heart wavers and he sees the way the curtain falls, eyes a fraction softer.
He grins, tugging you closer. Moves your hair over your shoulder then skims his fingers along the sharpness of your jaw.
It draws a shiver from you as you shift nervously, gaze fluttering from his eyes to the plush of his mouth.
“Stop,” you whisper meekly. “We–”
“You’re mine, you hear me?” His voice is raw, edge melting away. “Union or no union. It’s always going to be you and me.”

Thoughts on Bonney and her situation? I feel so bad for her… :[
oda has always been really good at introducing information about characters through their backstories that recontextualizes a lot of their behavior in hindsight, and i think bonney is maybe one of the most skillfully done examples of this in the whole comic.
i started suspecting some time before reaching her backstory that she might be younger than she generally appears, because it struck me as consistently odd how everyone on egghead seemed to mention knowing her as a child and how fast she’d grown up, but having that information confirmed in her flashback completely changes her as a character in a way i find really compelling and fun.
like, throughout egghead i have been mentally comparing bonney a lot to law. from the start she’s playing a similar role as he does in the dressrosa saga, as the arc’s supernova ally-of-circumstance, and the similarities between them only grow deeper as we learn more about her history and motivations. bonney is really similar to law in a lot of ways; she aligns herself with the strawhats while on a revenge quest for the death of her adoptive father, who sacrificed himself in order to cure her of her childhood terminal illness.
the main difference, of course, is that bonney is twelve.
she’s twelve! and she was ten before the timeskip. which means she’s about as old in the present of the story (10-12) as law was in his flashback (10-13), or as ace and sabo were in the post-marineford flashback (10); that’s the age and maturity level she’s at. she’s twelve years old and she misses her dad. her tragedy is fresh and recent and she hasn’t quite grown around it yet, and she still has her whole future ahead of her.
i really liked the reveal that her devil fruit basically relies on her being a kid with a big imagination full of infinite possibilities. it’s very thematically resonant with her role as the emotional and narrative core of the arc set on egghead, the island of the future. any future she envisions for herself she can make real!
related to this, she also relates to religion and myth like a child does, where it all may as well be real because anything still could be. when kuma tells her about nika, she envisions someone who’s really somewhere out there in the world who she could find. the sun’s in the sky- maybe they’ll find him up on the sky islands?
and the thing is that she’s right!
bonney is a kid and the futures she dreams become real, because her ability to imagine the impossible hasn’t yet been beaten into submission by the horrible weight of reality. saturn tries to break her spirit and depower her before he kills her by crushing her ability to picture any future for herself, and it almost works.
and then there’s nika, and everything becomes possible again.

Hii! I wanted to request reader x zoro where he sees you wearing his clothes one day and how he would react!
You can also just do it with the monster trio like the other imagines if you like! :]
forgetful - zoro x gn reader!
zoro forgets his clothes at your place, and loves you see you in them. 500< words.
warnings: a bit suggestive oopsie
Tumblr media
You collapsed on your bed after a long day of classes, the sun making the whole day miserably hot. After a moment sinking in the silence, you rolled off your bed and hopped in the shower, eager to be rid of the day. Feeling refreshed, you stepped out of the shower and ran the towel through your damp hair. Still warm from the shower, you wanted to opt for some comfier, loose clothing to spend the rest of your day inside in.
Scanning your room, your eyes caught on a t-shirt laying haphazardly on the edge of your bed.
“Huh, he must’ve forgotten it,” you mumbled, putting the big t-shirt on over your lounge shorts. You yawned, walking to the kitchen to make some lunch before the inevitable post-class nap. Over the sounds of the stove, you nearly didn’t hear the knock at the door. Setting down the spoon, you turned to grab the door.
“Hello!” you sang, throwing the door open playfully.
“He--” Zoro’s voice caught in his throat for a moment before clearing his throat, “Hey.”
Your head tilted at his weird reaction. “What?”
He walked in, setting his bag down on a kitchen chair, “Hm? Nothing.”
You didn’t miss the way he was ducking his face down, eyes rhythmically taking quick glances at you while you cooked. Leaning against the counter, stirring the pot, you eyed him skeptically. Shrugging it off, you grabbed bowls and utensils for the two of you as you plated your lunches. Sitting across from him, it really was getting possible to ignore the way his eyes were studying you, slow and purposeful in their intention.
“What is it, Zo, is there something on my face or what?” He looked down again, attention laser focused on his lunch.
“This is really good,” he muttered into the bowl, shoving his mouth full. You propped your elbow on the table, shrugging, causing the shirt to slip down your shoulder, exposing more of your skin. You honestly didn’t notice, but it was clear that Zoro did when he slammed the table, standing up abruptly, face completely flushed.
“Dammit,” he cursed, quickly making his way to you. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, but before you could get a word out, Zoro had slung you over his shoulder and was making his way quickly down the hallway.
“What the fuck? If you wanted to take a nap you could’ve just said so,” you protested.
“We’re not sleepin,” he said, a smile evident in his voice as he gently closed your bedroom door.
You weren’t sure exactly what had gotten into him that day, and maybe it was all coincidence, but in the days and weeks following, your closet had grown considerably as Zoro continuously forgot his clothes at your place.
a/n: sorry this was so short anon!! i loved this prompt and i will definitely be posting for the rest of the monster trio and probably ace with this idea in the future. i got so lazy but i was itching to post. thank you so much for your replies and EVERYONE please send me a billion requests i love to see them and stir them around in my brain like smut stew.
note for future requests! i will not write NSFW unless specified! (i wanna write nsfw so give me prompts mwahahaha)
okay guys meow (ciao) •*.

do stars return?
itoshi sae x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: your childhood friend leaves, and you question if he’ll ever come back.
notes: [1.2k words.] i like to think this man has super angst potential but that won’t be unearthed today LOL no beta we die like men <3
disclaimers: childhood friends trope, angst (if u squint) to fluff, making out for a lil bit, poetic dialogue, forgiveness theme.
masterlist.
Tumblr media
Itoshi Sae shines.
It's a truth you've come to realise at the budding age of seven. He, with his tepid stature and equally cold attitude, is destined for greatness.
A star, you whisper, once upon a time. A time where he lived without a million eyes watching his every move. You will become a star, I just know it.
And back in the day, it wasn't just you who believed it. Everyone did. From his teachers to his classmates, to his parents and his brother. It was an indisputable fact that the boy who dedicated himself wholly to soccer, a prodigy who made the sport look like an art form, had his future set out for stardom.
So it is no surprise to anyone when your naive declaration comes into fruition.
His face is plastered on every billboard - as far as the eye can see. Japan's pride, he is known as. The Ice Prince; he who dominates the field; a force to be reckoned with.
Itoshi Sae: the star.
You are proud. No doubt. Though, it’s false to say that you aren’t envious. Sae is a trailblazer: one that surpasses all of his enemies with a nonchalant stare, and transcends into the sky with the other geniuses. He is a part of the lucky few who are destined to be gazed upon with awe. Everything and anything you have achieved pales in comparison.
(You’d surely hear reprimands if you voice those thoughts out loud, though. In your time, you have made a name for yourself. An expert in your passion at the mere age of seventeen; a trailblazer in your own right.
…It’ll just never compare to the name Sae built for himself, you think with finality.)
But above the awe and envy you feel whenever Sae’s name comes up, is love.
Love: a trap that is inevitable for a childhood friend of his. A pitfall that you have fell into. Your love for him is a bittersweet fact, one which tugs at your heartstrings whenever his face shows up on your phone. Sweet, because childhood love is a beautiful, rare thing - you’re glad that it has happened, in all honesty - though bitter all the same, because he is a star.
And stars shoot past. They never go back.
(He, will never go back.)
So for the years that Sae is gone, you float by on that knowledge. Merely acknowledging him as the one who crashed into your life, and left as turbulently as he came. You work diligently to mute the love that festered in your heart, knowing it will never be.
You wholeheartedly believe that your life will continue in this fashion.
Then, the impossible happens.
The star returns, seven years later. On your doorstep, nonetheless.
Tumblr media
"Itoshi?"
Somehow, even in the ungodly hour of 12:56AM, Sae manages to look as beautiful as the day he left. It's unfair. Unfair for him to show up at your doorstep unannounced; unfair for him to have grown into his boyish looks as gracefully as he did.
It’s unfair for him to still make your heart race, even after all this time.
"Who else would it be?" He scoffs, the bite of his words not quite reaching his eyes. "And, Itoshi, seriously?"
His voice makes your heart leap. It's like you are ten again. "Well… You haven't been Sae for a while now," you say. "Not since you ghosted me, anyways."
Sae's eyes flicker with an emotion you thought he is incapable of feeling. "I didn't mean to." Regret. The Ice Prince is feeling regret, all for you. And if you were ten again, maybe that alone would shake you. But you aren't. You are several years wiser. You know better.
"It's fine if you want to be the best in the world. I don't blame you for that - not at all. But you can be number one and not neglect the ones that love you, y'know?" You slowly retreat back into the comfort of your apartment, hand creeping onto the back of the door. "Goodnight, Itoshi. You should go home; it's late."
You push the door, preparing to end the conversation then and there.
It’s not supposed to be like this, you realise. He, your first love, is supposed to stay in the past. Itoshi Sae should not be at your doorstep past midnight, suitcase in tow, as if he came straight from the airport to your house. The feelings you hold for him should be locked up within the depths of your heart - not surging in full force from just the sight of him.
But alas, fate plays its mischievous tricks once again. And Sae is not the type of person who lets blunders get away scot-free.
"…You love me?” He says, barely above a whisper, foot wedged between the door and the entrance. An impenetrable silence follows from your end.
Seven years older, but still a fool in the face of love, it seems.
“I did,” I still do, your mind yells. “But you’re a star now, Sae. Just like I said you would be.” Your breath hitches, nails forming crescent-shaped indents within your palm. “…And stars don’t fall in love with the big, black sea of nothingness, do they?”
A beat of silence ensues from his end. You cringe at your own word choice. Maybe he left, you think. Great. Itoshi Sae was at your door, and you scared him away with your stupid love and even stupider confession. How stupid can you even get—
The door hinge creaks as you topple over, shattering your inner turmoil. Sae announces his intrusion with a loud sigh.
“Hey! What are you?— This is considered trespassing—“ You begin. Sae shuts you up with a forceful kiss, pinning you against the door that you were hiding behind minutes before. It’s messy, tantalising, addicting. The smell of his aquatic cologne fills your senses, and he cups your face in between his hands. He feels so warm. He feels like home.
Sae’s whole body screams of need. The need for you; the need to make up for the lost time.
You hate how you are so weak for him.
“Idiot.” He deadpans as the two of you part. “If you’re going to get all poetic on me, fine. Stars don’t fall in love with the galaxy.”
You remove yourself from his arms, eyes scrunching in offence. Bold thing for him to say, especially after he just kissed your lips raw. “So… You’re not in love with me?”
“Let me finish.” Sae is quick to pull you back into his embrace, voice impossibly soft for the otherwise stone-faced boy. “Stars don’t fall in love with the sky. They live in it; I live with you.”
Sae hopes that the implication is clear.
You, alone, are his hope; you are the reason he sparkles as much as he does. Even while you were miles apart, his childhood friend was the sole thing on his mind. A star cannot shine without its galaxy, after all.
“You’re not off the hook, by the way.” You breathe lightly, laying your head against his chest. “Seven years is still a long time. I don’t think you can cuddle your way out of this one, Itoshi.”
A small smile elicits from his face, “I can try, can’t I?”
…And this star is willing to wait for his galaxy to forgive him, no matter how long it takes.

I feel like there is so much missed potential in this fandom when it comes to Jimmy's part in EVO.
Like yeah, Grian constantly pissed off the watchers by being too greedy and taking more than he should, and we all know it was Grian who was taken by the watchers after the ender dragon fight and made into one of them.
And we know that in the Life series, Martyn's character is spoken to and told to do various things for the Watchers and saved by the Listeners.
And Jimmy has some kind of Canary Curse that causes him to die first every time.
But, there is a lot more to this that people don't use simply because they haven't seen Jimmy's Evo series.
Most of my headcanon ideas are after my little recap of all the listener moments from Evo and you can skip to that, but if you have never seen Evo or never watched past Grian's POV it is pretty interesting and I think I summed it up pretty well.
----start of very long Evo Recap----
Back in Evo, the Watchers never really liked Jimmy or at points Martyn. This is seen when they get gifts from them representing the Watchers' opinions. Jimmy gets one of the worst ones (a chest with some gold and saplings, likely meaning 'room for growth') matched only by Grian's (a chest of coal with one diamond meaning 'diamond in the rough').
Martyn is shown to be disliked when later on he declares himself mayor due to Taurtis having left, his and Jimmy's Property Police station gets a meteor sent through it by the watchers.
In Jimmy's episode 75 he and Martyn follow a strange noise underneath their destroyed station. They find the listener symbol in bedrock and signs reading 'There are some who watch, we are those who listen. Heed our melody, and await your first mission. Tell nobody." This is the first time we hear about the Listeners and we don't see anything about them again until Jimmy's episode 98.
They had just defeated the ender dragon and had been told the news that "10 will become 9" and that they were taking Grian. In the end credits when they were told this, multiple members were mentioned by name for various things they had done, all except Jimmy.
In Jimmy's episode he spawns in alone. The spawn is destroyed and grown over and in front of him is the Listeners symbol. He finds a book in a chest simply titled "your mission" and 9 enderchests.
The book reads: "there are some who watch, we are those who listen. It is finally time for your first mission. Dragged forwards through time, your spawn old and rotten. Even in the end credits, your name was forgotten. Cruel are the Watchers who think they know best. For us please deliver each player a chest. SHhhh...."
He goes on to do as they ask,  one ender chest in each player's base. He is never told what these chests are for. Later the rest of Evo spawns in thousands of blocks away at the new spawn, they make their way back and find the Listener's symbol Jimmy had found is now a Watchers symbol.
The books titled "the future" read: "Our meeting was short and your victory grand, now 10 become 9 and you must leave this land. Our reasons are just, though you won't understand. Your actions have caused this, accidental or planned. Tread now to your homes, carry only what you can. Anymore will be drowned on and the sentence, a ban. We The Watchers Have Spoken."
They find the chests Jimmy had left them and inside is a note from the Listeners labeled "Greetings": "There are some who watch, we are those who listen, and we do not agree with their most recent decisions. 'Carry only what you can', what you deem best, We grant you more space by making use of this chest. SHHhhh....."
Later Jimmy finds signs from Martyn telling him what's going on and where to go. Jimmy shows caution and distrust towards the Watchers but follows all the same.
They set up everything at the new spawn, but in Jimmy's episode 112, he noticed an odd musical ticking sound beneath spawn. He goes around to everyone's base to leave them a sign asking what it is to make sure they know about it. They all gather at spawn and find that it was the Listeners who did it.
Under spawn they find a book titled "Freedom" by the Listeners. It reads: "There are some who watch, we are those who listen, if you flee you'll be free and complete your recission. Single versions are slow, new adventures in store, come with us and we'll give you lots more to explore. Make haste through this maze as a portal awaits, make the choice quick and take control of your fates. SHHhhh...."
They make their way through the maze and eventually find the last portal. They all get ready to make the jump for the last time, and go through the portal. For most this is the end of Evo (Jimmy, Pearl, and Netty do Christmas specials but those are only 2 episodes) meaning that this portal was really some kind of escape.
----end of very long Evo Recap----
This means that not only had the Watchers always had a dislike for Jimmy, but the Listener always had an interest in him and Martyn.
There is also the fact that Jimmy was the one the Listeners chose to deliver the enderchests. Bringing him to the original spawn under the Watcher's nose for this task, giving out something that will later help get around the Watcher's decision. And the fact that he was the one to first notice the strange sound at spawn and then go and warn the others? or at least inform them of this allowing them all to eventually find their escape?
It seems to me like Jimmy had long ago gotten a target painted on his back by the Watchers. With everything from
 1) going against them
2) working for the listeners
3) influencing others to go with him
4) they just generally didn't even like him beforehand.
By the time everyone escaped Evo it's a fair assumption that Jimmy is probably at the top of their list of problems.
So, when they make a new experiment with the death games and they have him there? Well, they can't have him staying around long enough to start figuring things out and influencing people, now can they.
And speaking of warning others, he seemed to be so intent on warning the other Evolutionists against the Watchers. What would be a better punishment for going against them, for being one of the main catalyst in it all, then to be cursed to always be the warning. Cursed to always be the first to die, always gone before something big goes down, the Canary in the coalmine.  But no matter what his death warns of, there is no escape this time. The coalmine's entrance is sealed and no matter how long you last, soon everything inside will suffocate.
And maybe this feeds into Secret life where he mentions how the Secret keepers symbol looks familiar, or how he decides to team up with Martyn just like in Evo.
Maybe him surviving a little longer in the games and coming back after death as a guardian angel is a testament to how the listeners are stronger in this season. An apology/gift to their first chosen for everything their actions had put him through.
But that's probably just me making far fetched connections and reading too far into things. Could be cool though.

#24: RIGHT BETWEEN YOUR THIGHS
"i'm not sure what this is between us, but i am sure that i don't want it to stop, whatever it is." -j.a. redmerski
What does one wear on a date where combat was the plan? It wasn’t a question you thought you’d ever be asking yourself, yet here you were. After staring at your options for another beat, you grabbed something you’d be able to move in. The more athletic clothing you owned weren’t really the cutest, but your goal with them was focused on utility. You could always save the cute outfit for your part of the date tonight. The idea of impressing Din by being competent on his date and then pretty on yours was appealing to you.
Din was dropping Grogu off with Peli until tomorrow morning. With every second he was gone, you found yourself more nervous. Being with Din was always so easy. That was part of the reason why you fell for him so fast. Having him as a cemented part of your day was natural. So, it made no sense that you would be nervous at all, but it seemed the butterflies in your belly didn’t give a damn about logic.
You wandered back out into the main room of the house and let your eyes glance over the decor you had already set up. The second Din had left the house you had tossed up the decorations. In preparation for tonight, you had food prepped in the fridge for dinner and you had hung string lights all over the kitchen and living room. A blanket was laid out on the floor with a few pillows just for comfort. It was a simple set up and initially it had excited you, but in the time it took for you to get dressed for your combat date your anxiety had grown. What if it were too simple? What if you didn’t know Din as well as you thought you did?
Before you could second guess yourself any further, you hurried out of the house. Din had told you to meet him at the tarmac which caught you off guard. You assumed this would be taking place at least on world. It made you curious as to what he had planned exactly. On your way to the tarmac, you returned the greetings to those who waved to you. A few even tried to stop you to ask about something medical and you had to politely point them toward the clinic where they’d find Aayla. Any other day and you’d linger to help, but you had a Mandalorian waiting for you.
You had only stepped a few feet onto the tarmac when a hand was suddenly in yours and dragging you through rows of parked ships. “Din?” You questioned the shiny, beskar covered man. “Hi to you too, honey.”
“I’ve had three different people try and stop me to ask about one problem or another.” Din grunted.
“Aw,” You chuckled, “I had people try to stop me for medical advice! Look at us. Staples of the community.”
“Today, they need to make do without two staples.”
Tumblr media
It had been a surprise when Din pulled you onto the little starship, but you were completely caught off guard when said ship broke through the atmosphere of a small, green world. You gazed out through the glass at the greenery that formed the large jungle you now flew over. He said he was taking you to a nearby, abandoned and uninhabited moon.
“Din…” You breathed in shock. Maker, this no named moon was gorgeous.
“You said you missed seeing the color green.” Din replied simply. Your eyes snapped to him in awe. It had been a toss away comment made quite some time ago. Growing up on Naboo, you had raised with forests and bodies of water. Then you bounced from Coruscant to Tatooine to Nevarro where the ground was non-existent or dry.
Din steered the ship toward a clearing in the jungle that sat on the edge of a cliff side where you had a view of the never ending trees. It was just shades of green and blue as far as your eyes could see. As soon as the ship was safely parked, you leapt out of your seat and rushed down the now lowering ramp.
The air was cool and humid. You took in a deep breath and marveled at how the smell of earth and vegetation filled your lungs. Din’s heavy steps came up behind you, and you glanced over your shoulder to give him a broad grin. You were beaming in the reflection of his visor.
“So, this is okay?” He asked with an almost nervous tinge to his voice.
“Okay?” You laughed. “Din, this is…” You shook your head and threw your arms around his neck. Din didn’t hesitate to wrap his own arms around your midsection and hold you close. “Thank you for this.”
“You may want to hold off on thanking me.” Din chuckled in your ear. “We haven’t even gotten to the rest of the date.”
You pulled back with a smirk and held a finger up at him. “I think you mean ‘courting session’.” Din let out a soft laugh before letting his hands fall from your side. You watched curiously as he began to unlatch portions of his armor. Your eyes widened and you glanced around outside the ship as if there would suddenly be a crowd where there hadn’t been one before. “What’re you doing?”
“We’re going to spar.” Din replied simply. “I want to make sure you can defend yourself.”
“And you need to strip down… why?”
Din huffed, “I’m not stripping down. I’m just removing my beskar.” He shook his head. “I don’t want to hurt you.”
You crossed your arms with a quirk of your eyebrow, “Who says you’re not the one who is gonna get hurt here?” Din laughed while pulling off his chest piece. The laugh was accurate. There was no way in hell you were going to even land a hit on him unless he wanted you to, but you feigned shock and disbelief. “Wow. How smug of you, Mandalorian.”
Din tilted his helmet at you in a ‘really?’ manner while pulling his cloak off. It left him in just his dark brown flight suit and you shouldn’t have found the plain outfit as attractive as you did. You continued to stand there and stare with a smile as he pulled off his gloves and kicked off his boots. Din set his hands on his hips, and you motioned toward his clothes. “Feel free to keep going. I won’t mind.”
“Alright, enough.” Din chuckled and set his hands on your shoulder. He turned you around and lightly pushed you out of the ship. You laughed under your breath and once you stood where he wanted in the field by the ship, he let his hands drag down to your hips. You expected him to spin you to face him, but instead he just took a step closer. You sucked in a sharp breath through your nose at the feel of his chest against your back. In a softer voice, he leaned his head closer to the side of yours. “How much self-defense do you know?”
“Oh, you know, the basics.” You mumbled with a little shrug. If you had to quantify the self defense you knew it would probably add up to less than the basics. Suddenly, before you could even blink, Din’s right arm wrapped around your neck in a choke hold. Your eyes widened and your hands lifted to grip the crook of his elbow to try and pull him away. “Dank farrik!”
Din flexed his arm enough for you to feel it but it wasn’t cutting off your air flow. You felt nervous for a whole other reason. His helmet was pressed against the side of your face in this hold, and he was so close that you could hear the slight static hum of his modulator. “Escape me, ner kar’ta.” You swallowed nervously and tried uselessly to tug Din’s arm away from your throat. He chuckled and you tried to kick his legs but even when you did make contact he didn’t budge. “You can do better than that.”
You thrashed your shoulders with a grunt, but he locked his grip. Din lifted you up so your toes only barely brushed the ground and began to drag you backwards. You yelped in surprise and rapidly tapped against his arm⏤ the universal sign for giving in.
Din set you back down and loosened his arm to hold you by the arms, “You alright?”
“Yeah, I am.” You replied. “I just didn’t see myself getting out of that anytime soon.”
He chuckled and slipped his arm back where it had been. Din nudged you and your hands went back to the crook of his elbow. “Step one foot forward.” You stepped out with your left foot. “And use your other foot to slip to the side and turn around. You wanna⏤”
Without waiting for the rest of his sentence, you tried to slip to his right side, but the second you tried to turn you found his hold around your neck tighter as he pinned you to his side. Din let out a soft laugh, and you beat on his back a bit to try and pull out.
“You slipped out the wrong way.” Din said.
“I noticed, thanks.” You muttered.
Din loosened his hold enough that you could straighten back up. “Try the other way.” You did the same thing, but this time you spun toward the left. Now, you were facing Din’s chest with his arm resting on the back of your neck and shoulders. “Good. Now push me away.” With all your strength, you shoved against Din’s midsection and you stumbled apart. “Very good, ner kar’ta. Again.”
He made you do it a few more times with his arm tighter each pass, and it got easier and more smooth every time you did it. You did it one more time, grinning triumphantly when you pushed him away, but this time Din lunged to grab you. His leg hit the back of yours and you went sprawling back. A cry of surprise left your lips and you braced for the blow of hitting the ground. However, at last minute Din caught you and carefully laid you against the grass the two of you were practicing on.
You opened your mouth to complain, but found your voice missing. Din was straddling you with his knees pressed to the ground on either side of your hip. He held himself up so he was carrying his weight on his knees and not crushing you. The sight of Din towering over you like this made you ache with need. He was right there. You could drag your hands up his thick thighs and to his belt with such ease. If this was affecting him the same way it was you, he didn't show it.
The sound of overhead thunder from distant storm clouds made Din look up as he searched for the source. Seeing your opportunity, you sat up and threw yourself forward to push Din backwards. Caught off guard, he fell back and you threw yourself on top of him. “Ha! I⏤” You didn't register what Din did, his movements were a quick blur of color, and suddenly you were on your back again, “Hey!”
Din grabbed your wrists to pin on the ground by your head. Rather than straddling you, this time he was situated between your legs. Oh, Maker. This was worse in the best kind of way. Din tilted his head, “That was cheating.”
“Whoops?” You gave him a sheepish smile. Din shifted so his weight was pinning your arms down rather than resting on the back of his calves. You swallowed the lump in your throat. “You know, I thought combat meant I was gonna get to punch and kick you more.”
“Should I be worried about how eager you are to punch me?”
You laughed, “Really though.”
“The chances of you being in an actual fist fight is lower than you being placed in a hold.”
“I mean, I’m planning to avoid both of those options.”
“I like that plan, but it’ll help me sleep at night knowing you at least know how to free yourself.” Din replied with a low chuckle. His hands lifted off your wrists to place a light hold on your throat. Your chin tilted up, making room for his large hands, and your reflection in his visor showed you that you were not hiding how badly you wanted him. Din didn’t apply any more pressure than the light hold he already had on you, but he did lower his face closer to yours, “You think you can focus and get out of this hold before we get rained out?”
You squirmed under him, hips shifting against his, and you felt his body stiffen. A slow smile crossed your face as you moved your hips more deliberately this time. Din let out a soft grunt, and you chuckled, “Guess that depends. You think you can teach me how without getting distracted?”
“Wayii, ner kar’ta.” Din murmured. He lifted a hand off your neck to grab your right hand and set it on the wrist of the hand still pretending to choke you. “Hold here and…” Din set your other hand on his left shoulder. “With this hold, you’re gonna pivot out from under me and put me in an arm bar.”
“Um, sure.” You said skeptically.
Din nodded to your left leg, “Put that foot against my hip so you can lift your other. You need it across my shoulder blades.” You tried to do as he said and it forced your hips up from the ground in a position that felt unnatural. “Good, good. Now that foot on my hip? Lift it and throw it over my head so both your legs are resting on my same shoulder.” With a grunt you did just that and it left the arm you had been holding trapped between your arms. Naturally, the hand that was on his shoulder fell to hold his wrist and you pushed your hip back down to the ground and it forced Din onto his back as you straightened your body. “Good, that’s⏤ah!” He tapped the thigh laying on his throat. “Good.”
You let go of him, but the moment you did he was on top of you once more. You cried out, startled, but Din had his hands at your throats. “Again. Faster.”
He squeezed just enough to get you moving. You followed his instructions, trying to remember each step, and you successfully got him into another arm bar. You let go of his arm so you weren’t accidentally hurting him, but you kept your legs where they were. One rested over his neck, right under his helmet, and the other on his lower chest. His arm bent so he could rest his hand on your thigh and he gave it a playful squeeze.
Din began to laugh and the sound was so relaxed, so boyish, that it brought a warm smile to your face. You sat up, leaning back on your hands, and stared down at him. His entire body was relaxed as he lazily dragged his hand back and forth on your thigh.
“This position can’t possibly be comfortable.” You teased.
Din’s helmet turned to look back at you. “Ner kar’ta, I could spend the rest of my life right here.” He squeezed your thigh again and chuckled. “Right between your thighs.” Your face grew warm at his words and Din rubbed your leg. “You’re doing so good. Making me proud.”
You bit down on your bottom lip and watched as a drop of water plinked against Din’s helmet. Then there was a second, then a third, and then you and Din were in a downpour. You pulled your legs off him and the two of you scrambled off the ground and back to the cover of the ship.
“Just… Just give it a minute or two.” Din stood at the edge of the cover so he could peer up at the now dark sky. “It’ll pass.” The clouds had rolled in quick and sudden, but they lingered. A full ten minutes passed and Din stood in his frustrated dad pose at the end of the ramp. You wandered down to stand beside him. He sighed, “I'm so sorry. If I had known it was going to rain I would’ve taken us somewhere else.”
“Din, this place is perfect.”
“It’s storming.”
“Yeah, but,” You set your hand on his arm, “We’re together.” Din turned his head to glance at you. “That’s all that matters.” The tension in his shoulders seemed to melt. You held your hand out to feel the rain against your skin. A thought occurred to you. “When’s the last time you felt the rain on your face?”
Din shrugged, “I fell into the Living Waters.”
“That’s called drowning,” You shook your head, “And it doesn’t count.”
“I took a shower last night.”
“Still not the same.”
He shrugged in response.
You squeezed his arm, “Well, this moon is uninhabited according to you. I can sit in the ship with the ramp up, and give you a second.” He tilted his head in what you assumed was confusion. “Everyone deserves to feel the rain on their face. Just to⏤ to feel alive, and we’re not getting any rain storms in Nevarro anytime soon.”
Din nodded once. You turned to walk back into the ship, but his hand slipped into yours. He squeezed your hand and pulled you out into the rain. You flinched at the first few drops, the cold water startling even knowing it was coming, and on instinct you lifted your head up so the rain splattered across your face. Din’s hand left yours but it was quick to find your skin once more. He cupped your jawline and you tore your gaze from the sky to his visor. His thumb dragged against your cheekbone.
“Close your eyes.” Din whispered.
Without hesitation, you let your eyes fall shut. Din’s hand fell away from your face. You heard the hiss of his helmet followed by the soft thud of heavy beskar landing on soft grass. More than anything in the worlds, you wished you could watch him experience this. Din let out a quiet sigh, close to a soft moan, and your lips twitched up into a smile. A pair of hands cupped your face and your own hands rose to rest on top of his. Din was close⏤ his body radiated heat. The tip of his thumb traced your bottom lip.
“Gar're bid mesh'la.” Din murmured and he was close enough that you felt his warm breath fan across your mouth. “So beautiful, ner kar’ta.” Warm lips slotted against yours and you breathed Din in. As always, Din kissed you with every part of who he was⏤ every single time was its own unique experience. His hands roamed down your body, never leaving contact, until they found your hips. Din’s lips broke from yours but continued to brush against yours as he sucked in a breath, “I… You’re so important to me.” The hands on your hips slipped up and under your shirt. His touch hot against your cold, damp skin. “Everything, ner kar’ta.”
You wrapped your arms around his neck to pull his lips back against yours. The kiss was bruising. A desperate tangle of teeth and tongue in a attempt to get closer⏤ as if he wasn’t already pinning the two of you chest to chest with his strong arms. The kiss began to simmer in desperation, but the passion remained. Even when it seemed slow as you caught your breath, he continued to lightly press his lips against yours in soft, chaste kisses. As if he couldn’t stand being apart.
“Din…” You murmured softly. Thunder rumbled overhead. The power of the sound competed with the pounding of your heart. Din nipped at your lower lip before dragging the tip of his tongue against the spot. You let out a soft sigh, and he pulled your lower lips between his own. His hands had slipped out of your shirt so they could instead cup your face and tilt your face at the ideal angle to allow him to continue his onslaught. He dragged his lips across your cheek until they pressed against the skin right under your ear. An involuntary shiver rocketed down your spine and you trembled enough that Din must have felt it.
“I need to get you out of the rain before you catch a cold.” Din mumbled against your skin.
You sighed and when he tried to pull back you trapped him by wrapping your arms around his torso, “That’s an old wives’ tale. Being in the rain doesn’t make you sick.”
“Fine, doc. I need to get you out of the rain before we get struck by lightning.”
“If you want I can make up some statistics about lightning strikes.”
Din chuckled, his chest rumbling with the sound, and you felt him kneel down. You stayed in place until the cool metal of his helmet pressed against your forehead. At the reassuring touch, you let your eyes flutter open. In his visor’s reflection, you saw what a mess you were. Soaked to the bone with swollen lips. You groaned, “Maker, I look like a drowned porg.”
“A very cute, drowned porg.”
You shoved at his chest with a laugh and Din chuckled and began to drag you back toward the ship. The two of you left puddles in the ship and you helped Din get his armor back on. It couldn’t possibly be comfortable with how wet his flight suit was, but he’d be parking in a populated area of Nevarro and couldn’t go without it.
“I’m sorry we couldn’t do more.” Din said as you sat down in the co-pilot seat.
You narrowed your eyes at him. “Don’t you dare apologize for the best first ‘courting session’ ever.”
Din let out a soft laugh and brought the ship up into the air. His hand reached over to rest on your thigh⏤ fingers curling into your skin as his thumb rubbed back and forth. You leaned back in your seat and despite the gorgeous scenery right outside the window, you couldn’t tear your eyes away from his form.

There was never a lull in the conversation with Din. Talking to him always came naturally. It made you silly for ever being nervous about your portion of the date in the first place. After getting back to Nevarro, the two of you had gone back home and when Din saw the decor you babbled through an anxious explanation of your plans. He had been delighted at the sound of it. It took no time for the two of you to clean up after the courting session episode. Din traded his armor for a t-shirt and sweatpants, and you had tosses aside the wet work out clothes to put on a simple dress that made you feel cute with buttons down the torso.
Din hovered over you while you made food and helped despite you telling him he didn’t need to. Then, the two of you just enjoyed one another’s company. Back to back, eating dinner, and basking in the glow of the string lights you had hung up.
“This really is so incredible. Thank you.” Din said.
You set aside your bowl with a chuckle, “You don’t have to thank me for that, Din.”
“No, I do. I know this isn’t…” Din paused and there was a tension in his voice you couldn’t quite place. He sighed, “This isn’t typical. I’m sorry I can’t take you to a restaurant in town and sit across from you for a normal meal.”
“Din, you don’t have to apologize for that.”
“But⏤”
“I don’t care about any of that.” You shook your head. “I’d have every single meal, for the rest of my life, hidden away or in private as long as it meant I got to have them with you. That’s all that matters.”
You felt him begin to turn and immediately shut your eyes with a mumble that he was safe. Din’s fingers found the side of your face and you allowed your body to follow his movements as he pulled you to face him. His lips were on yours again with no preamble or hesitation. It only lasted a brief moment, pure and chaste, before he separated to lean his forehead against yours.
“You’re too good to me.” Din’s voice sounded hoarse as his hand traced the side of your face. “I don’t deserve you.”
“You deserve to be cared about⏤ you deserve to be…” The word ‘loved’ sat on the ip of your tongue, and you only barely caught it in your mouth before it tumbled out. You were confident of how you felt, and you were highly suspicious that Din was on the same page as you, but it was still terrifying to consider saying it out loud. “You deserve this and more, honey.”
“Have I told you how much I enjoy hearing you call me honey?” Din leaned back in and began to pepper kisses across your lower face.
“It’s come up a time or two.” You teased in response. He ghosted up your jawline, his breath hot on your skin, until they wrapped around your earlobe⏤ teeth nipping at it lightly. You couldn’t hold back a soft moan. “Maker, Din.” You felt his chuckle as he wrapped a hand around the back of your neck. Din carefully tilted your chin up and to the side so he could finish his line of kiss down your neck. “Keep this up and I’m… I’m not gonna want to get up, and I have dessert in the fridge for us.”
Din shook his head and dragged his nose up against the column of your neck to find your ear once more, “I have dessert right here, ner kar’ta.” His words, in that deep, honeyed voice, sent shivers down your spine. Want pooled in your belly as you melted into his hands. “Do you trust me?”
“Always.” You murmured. Din pulled away from you and you groaned at the loss. “Wait, no,” Din laughed at your whine and the sound was distant, “Come back.”
“Be patient!”
You heard his approach and felt him as he settled in front of you again. Din was wrapping something around your eyes and tied it behind your head. “That feel, alright?” You nodded in response and adjusted the blindfold to sit comfortably on your face. “Just want you to relax and not worry about accidentally opening your eyes or not. This okay?”
“Only if you start touching me again.” You grinned and tilted your chin up a hair.
“Oh, mesh’la,” Din was quick to cup your face once more and he pushed you back to settle on the blanket softly, “I’m more than happy to.” You had never been happier in your choice of clothing than now with Din unbuttoning the front of your dress. One large hand cupped your breast while the other stayed wrapped around the back of your neck. Din let out a breathless whisper of Mando’a before adding in Basic, “Tell me if you want me to stop.”
You shook your head, “I swear to the Maker if you stop I’ll kick your ass.” Din chuckled and shifted so he could rest between your thighs. You accommodated him by letting your legs fall open to rest on either side of his hips. “I know how to do that now since you taught me.”
“Teaching you how to get out of two holds is a little different from kicking ass.” Din replied amused. His hand left your breast and you felt the tips of his fingers brush against the scar along your collarbone. You stiffened slightly⏤ more out of self consciousness rather than discomfort or fear. Din leaned down until his lips pressed against the skin there. “Do you know how beautiful you are, ner kar’ta? Absolutely gorgeous.” You buried your hand in his soft hair, letting out a sigh, and Din kissed your scar twice more before letting his lips taste the skin of your chest. “Breathtaking.”
His mouth found the curve of upper breast. Din was careful as he pulled your bra down and when the cold air met your now bare nipples you gasped. More breathless Mando’a filled the air and only ended when Din’s lips wrapped around your right nipple as his hand held the underside of your other so his thumb could trace lazy circles around that nipple. Din’s tongue circled your sensitive skin and you groaned⏤ hand tightening in his hair.
The Mandalorian was new to using his mouth, but just like with kissing he was quick to pick it up and passionate about exploring with his tongue. All of his movements were focused and completed with the discipline of a bounty hunter. Even in a situation that was new to him, he used his body with confidence by dedicating to the action. Din’s mouth spent ample time tasting the skin of both your breasts, sucking and licking, and your entire being felt like it was on fire. Every inch of you craved his touch, you were drunk on him and were left a squirming mess under his strong hands. Pinned to the ground under his broad body and blind to everything but the sound, feel, and smell of him.
“Maker.” You gasped and tugged on his hair. “You’re killing me, honey. It’s…” He let his teeth lightly graze your overly sensitive nipple and your back arched in an attempt to follow his mouth as he pulled up. “Fuck. It’s so much. Too much.”
Din squeezed the breast his mouth wasn’t on and then crawled up just enough to press a soft kiss to your lips, “Sorry.” He hummed and you could hear the smile he was wearing. “Just can’t help myself.” Suddenly, you felt Din’s hand brush against the outside of your leg. It trailed back and forth from your knee to where the edge of your dress laid. You were already an absolute mess but having his warm touch against your thigh was making the need for him a hundred times worse. “Can I taste you, ner mesh’la kar’ta?”
You sucked in a sharp breath nervously. Your teeth bit down on your lower lip briefly. It had been a little while since you had anyone go down on you, and with the way you felt about Din you wanted things to be perfect. The thought of Din not enjoying himself or just feeling obligated haunted your mind and the anxiety dulled the pleasure. “You know you don’t have to do that, right? It’s not⏤”
“Have to?” Din’s fingers squeezed into the meat of your thigh and your hips involuntarily rolled up marginally to find a source of friction to ease the ache in your core. “There is literally nothing I could want more. I cannot even begin to describe how often I’ve thought of this moment right here.” You gave a small, weak nod. He squeezed your thigh once more. “Wanna hear you say it, ner kar’ta.”
“Yes, Din. Want that⏤ want you now.” Your desire beat out any anxiety you may have felt.
Din crawled down until he could press a kiss to the inside of your knee. His strong arm wrapped around your thigh, settling on his left shoulder, and you found comfort in that hold. You let out a relaxed breath. Din was safe. There was no reason to feel any anxiety in the arms of this man. With that, the anxiety began to ebb away and with every kiss Din laid on the inside of your thigh gradually traveling up the ache worsened.
The edge of your dress was pushed up with his left hand and it splayed across your abdomen. “This is my first time doing this with my mouth, mesh’la. Tell me if I’m hurting you.” Goosebumps formed across your skin at the cool air that now washed over you, but the weight of his hand seemed to burn straight through you. Din’s mouth pressed against your clothed heat. He kissed through your sinfully soaked underwear.
“Din,” You gasped, your hand refinding his hair, “Fuck. Din.”
His right hand slipped under the side of your underwear to tug them down your thigh. Din kept your right leg on his left shoulder, unmoving, and he hummed, “Knee to your chest, mesh’la.” You did as he asked and he used the movement to slip your left leg out of your underwear. The second you were uncovered, Din groaned, “Good girl.”
He buried his face into your wet folds in desperation. What Din lacked in precision he made up for with eagerness. He mumbled words of Mando’a straight into your pussy between licking long stripes through your lips. Din worked in broad strokes of his tongue, and every few seconds his nose would find your clit. It’d either brush too lightly for you to fully enjoy or press firmly against it and send jolting strikes of pleasure straight up your spine.
“Din, Din.” You moaned and he pressed in deeper, his tongue circling your hole. He hadn’t come up for air in a bit and you wondered how he managed to keep this up. Regardless, it was driving you wild. “Baby, please.” Din lifted his head and the sound of him panting was unbelievably attractive to you. “Shit, Din.”
“You alright?”
“Yes. Maker, yes, but…” You groaned. “I know you’re probably not meaning to do this, but you’re teasing me and it’s got me right on the edge.” Din shifted, you heard him chuckle, and before you could try to explain to him what you meant specifically when it came to his mouth, his thumb dragged through your folds up and straight to your clit. He circled it with insane precision and your mouth fell open in a silent cry as the arousal pooling in your lower belly grew and the ache almost sent you over the edge. “Maker! Din!”
Din pulled his thumb away and you were breathless. He placed a chaste kiss to your thigh where he could reach, “I’m not that unfamiliar with it, ner kar’ta. I told you I've used my hands.”
“Gotcha. So you were teasing me on purpose?” You scoffed and Din chuckled. You tugged on his hair and his breathy laugh grew louder. You grinned and shook your head. “You ass.”
“How about I make it up to you?” Din’s lips were back on you and this time he wasn’t just broadly tasting you. His precision had turned deadly and it was devastating how fast he drove you right back to that edge. “Taste so fucking sweet, mesh’la.” His tongue circled your clit before he began to apply enough suction that stars filled your vision. Your body began to tense as you spiraled into your quickly approaching orgasm. Din hummed and spoke against your clit, teeth and tongue brushing against it as the vibrations of his words buzzed against you, “Gonna come, ner kar’ta? Fall apart for me. Let me devour you.”
His lips wrapped around your clit again and the onslaught of his mouth had your orgasm washing over you. You let out a loud cry, his name garbled on your tongue, and as you came down from your high it felt like you were falling into a soft cloud. It was only then that you realized Din hadn’t stopped for a second. The slurping sound of him devouring you was downright filthy and you moaned again.
“Just like I said before, ner kar’ta.” Din dragged his wet lips up to kiss your abdomen in any random spot he could reach. “Could spend eternity between these gorgeous legs.”
You sat up on one elbow and blindly reached out to grab the collar of his shirt. “My turn, honey.” You gave his shirt a few tugs. “Want to taste you too.”
“Who said I was done here?” Din teased. He crawled up your body, still between your legs, and his hips pressed against yours firmly. You felt his hard cock straining against his sweatpants and he let it grind against your messy pussy. You reached down for the waistband of his sweatpants and Din’s hand rested by your neck to hold himself up while his other caressed the column of your neck and along your jaw. “I’m not done eating dessert.”
Your lips curled into a broad smile as you recognized the similar position you were in to what had been going on earlier today. Quickly, your right hand grabbed his left, the one holding him up, and before you could second guess yourself you let your legs kick up just like in the courting session until you were able to push him off you into an arm bar. This was the exact position he had been in last time, but this time you were unable to see him. Still, you felt your legs across his chest as you held his arm between your thighs.
For a beat it was silent, and you were worried you had upset him in some way, but then he began to laugh. Without the modulator of his helmet, the sound was clear and downright musical. You’d trade your soul if it meant getting to see the way his face looked right now. You wanted to see his smile, wanted to see the lines that formed on his face when he laughed like this.
“Maker, you’re so perfect, ner kar’ta.” Din breathed as his free hand came up to caress your legs. “I can’t begin to… You’re… I…” He let out one more laugh. “Ni kar'tayli gar darasuum.”
“What does that mean?” You didn’t recognize those words.
“I’ll tell you one day. I promise.”
You chuckled, “Bold of you to deny someone who has you in an arm bar right now, honey.”
The hand you were holding between your legs suddenly tightened around your wrist and he pulled you toward him while pushing your legs off of him. With a yelp of surprise, he had you flipped so your arms and head were laying on his chest while your legs were sprawled out behind you. Din grasped the side of your face to pull you to his lips. His hand raked through your hair lovingly, and you sighed against his kiss. Din swallowed the sound of your content.
You felt so warm and comfortable against Din, and as if you hadn’t been aware of it before, it was startling how much you loved Din Djarin.

SIX YEARS BEFORE
University has a funny way of making you feel like you might never cross the finish line. Y/n like everyone else had multiple days where she would just sob and scream from the stress of it all. Exams were totally a torture device.
When Y/n graduated with her first degree before deciding to write her thesis Harry surprised her.
He’d been touring the world with One Direction for months now and she hadn’t seen him since Paris the year before, when he’d surprised her by flying her to join them in their Paris show and they’d had a wild few drunken nights that she felt blurred the lines of friendship into something more.
But after their few days, when the champagne ran out, and she came back home, she sobered and realised that nothing would ever happen between them. And if you spent a few nights with Harry in a limo drinking champagne and dealing with his wandering hands you too would fall for him. Just a bit. It's only natural.
She missed him, though, loads. He was one of her best friends after all.
Around a month ago they phoned each other, it was late for her and the morning for him, she’d been studying and they talked for hours catching up till the sky turned bright for her and her eyes drooped shut. The time between their phone calls had grown longer and longer now, and she missed him. She’d mentioned that she was graduating soon and that they were both supposed to be graduating if he’d stayed in Uni. She remembers them staying up late at parties discussing their futures and how post-graduation Harry was insistent that they’d still be roommates. She realised now that their dream definitely wasn’t a possibility anymore.
He’d told her that instead of being there graduating like they’d suspected he was going to be, he was in Rome at some fashion show gala thing, and his date was this sexy model named Rosalie who had her sex tape leaked a couple of months ago. She was happy for him, but a part of her couldn’t help but be disappointed. She felt like he was drifting away from her every day, but she couldn’t find in herself to be cross with him. He was swept up by the fame of it all, and how on earth could she be mad that he was literally a rockstar? She knew that he was still Harry and she was still Y/n but they weren’t Harry and Y/n anymore. Not like before.
And honestly, she’d probably leave everything and everyone behind, party all night, and sleep with sexy models too if she had the chance to be famous. But she couldn’t sing for shit. So instead she did what she was doing, and shoved her nose in a book rather than in lines off a bathroom sink, and she was rather content with the peacefulness of it all.
All thoughts of Harry were swept away from her mind when she walked across the stage in the grande hall. She was finally graduating! Thank god! She thought. She had a sash that showed she was an honours student, and she was blooming with pride, when they called her name her list of achievements was longer than the four painful years she’d spent studying in their grande libraries. She was so glad to shake the hand of one of her favourite professors and leave, the next year ahead she planned to travel and work overseas, she was excited about that.
But honestly, she was even more excited to get absolutely shit-faced at the graduation after-ball party. She found herself a few pints down, sitting by the edge of one of the fountains, when she nearly fell in at the absolutely shocking sight in front of her.
There was just no way it could be true. I mean he was in Rome, and she was drunk in London. She’d seen photos on her Twitter of him wrapping his tattooed arms around that Rosalie model girl, so how could he be here in London just like that? It was not real, surely. She must be hallucinating and the second-hand smoke of all the spliffs had finally got to her brain. But suddenly the man turned around and Jesus Christ it was him. It was Harry. His eyes were pinched as he searched the crowd and when he finally saw her they lit up, all green like a forest, and his mouth kicked up into that devilish grin of his.
He saw her dumb-struck expression and laughed softly walking toward his best friend. He was dressed in a suit jacket like everyone else, and since they were all drunk none of them noticed it was the Harry Styles of the One Direction AKA the biggest band in the world. To them, he was just some random twat who just graduated too.
His hair had grown all long and curly, and he just looked so much more like a man than when he’d left. Had he gotten taller? More strong? The arms of his jacket strained and Y/n sighed at the sight of him.
She didn't think she'd changed much, but Harry thought she looked even more beautiful than before, if possible.
When he stood right in front of her, her mouth was still wide in utter shock. “What the fuck are you doing here?”
He laughed. “Is that all you hafta’ say? Come on, hug your best friend!”
She sprang up from her seat and the silky long dress, which was a teal blue colour. All smooth and tight on her skin was hiked up slightly. Her gown and cap were long gone, as she wrapped her arms around his neck and shoulders. He lifted her up off the floor and spun them around.
She smelt like peaches and sweetness, and God, he could've stayed holding her for weeks.
She giggled and felt her face hurt from smiling so big. “Oh my God, I can’t believe you!”
When he placed her down, his hands did not leave the curve of her waist. “Surprise, babe.”
“What the- shit- I thought you were in Rome! How’d you even get here?” She asked
He smiled. “I was, got a flight this afternoon. It was the only one coming home, sorry for missing the graduation part.”
She just smiled up at him. “You’re crazy.”
He shook his head landing a hand on her shoulder. “I knew how important it was to you, and I missed you. Sue me.”
She laughed, eyes welling with slight tears. Maybe he wasn’t drifting too far from her after all. “Oh, god, don’t make me cry, you know how I get after a few pints, H.”
He laughed, arms outstretched for her to cuddle him. “Aw, pet, c’mere.”
She smacked his chest playfully but cuddled him nonetheless. “Let’s go get royally fucked, mate,” She whispered and they pulled apart, hands interlocking as she lead him off to one of the pubs where everyone was buying drinks.
It was called The Ducks Nuts.
A few of her mates were inside. Ones Harry didn’t know, but she’d already spent a good portion of the night with them. So she told them her old friend had surprised her and they’d be here and there.
Harry ordered them some shots and eventually the night was just a blur of hands touching each other, as they got so drunk Y/n felt her world spinning. They’d hopped around multiple different pubs and bars and Y/n was so tired. Her heels itched her feet with pain and she ripped them off, along with her bag. As they walked with little purpose she threw her things at him and began to dance in the middle of the road.
Harry was holding her things as she danced in the street showing her best Elton John impression, and he silently decided that was what made her so perfect. She was just herself. And he loved that about her, he loved everything about her.
He laughed and told her what a realistic impression it was, and how they’d met at some award show to back up that comment. She was infinitely jealous, she loved Elton.
On her way back toward him she landed in his arms after losing her footing he shook his head at her.
“You are very drunk, Lovie. Aren't ya'?" He said, in a soft tone one that made her tummy turn in flips.
She sighed as they walked in a direction with no destination in mind. “You aren’t drunk enough, you need to get on my level.”
He noticed her shiver under his arm and quickly ripped his coat off. It swallowed her form and she smiled gratefully hugging the coat around herself. It felt like a warm embrace, and that smell filled her nose and suddenly she was home in her old flat with him, home in Holmes Chapel, home with him. Just home.
“Smells good.” She giggled as she sniffed the shoulder pad, her cheek brushing against the soft material all dog-like. “N’ soft too.”
“Why thanks, it’s Gucci.” He replied.
She rolled her eyes. “Come on then, money-bags, let’s get you as drunk as me.”
They strolled into a tavern near her flat and drank so much tequila that they had to practically carry each other home.
As Harry looked up at the stars and moon, feeling the cool air nip her skin he sighed. He hadn’t gotten this drunk, and been this happy in such a long time. He was giggling contently, as she leaned into him and he silently wished that the night would never end.
He never wanted his time with her to end either. He loved spending time with her, whether they were on an adventure or doing nothing at all. Y/n made it worthwhile.
When they reached the shitbox of a flat she lived in Harry followed calmly behind her, and when one of her neighbours spat a comment about drunken youths he sighed, “I wish you would’ve taken up my offer,”
She looked up at him as she played with the jammy door that never seemed to open on the first try. Shoving her shoulder into it as she managed to finally wedge it open, stumbling inside ungracefully.
And with a roll of her eyes, she ushered him inside. “There is zero chance I’d let my all-of-sudden bazillionaire rockstar friend buy me a flat, just cause he can afford shoes worth more than my entire life savings. Anyway, how could I ever pay it back? I have two p to my name and a packet of noodles in my possessions, Harry.”
He laughed. “Think of it as a graduation present then,”
She sighed. “Just shut up and sit down, and I’ll get some wine.”
It was almost 4AM now, and neither cared. They were beyond drunk, but Y/n missed him and if force-feeding him wine would get him to spend a whole 24 hours with her, she totally would.
When she sat down with two mugs spilling with a cherry red wine, that was the cheapest shit she’d ever bought, Harry laughed. Her wobbly legs forced her to land awkwardly on one thigh practically on top of his. He smiled, one that showed his kind eyes.
Green pools of emerald she wished to swim in for eternity. She laughed at the thought, she really got poetic when she was drunk, huh?
“God, remind me to get you drunk more often.” He whispered.
She sighed. “Oh shut up, and fill me in on life then. Who are you shagging?”
He looked at her pointedly. “Who are you shagging?”
A blush crept up her neck, and suddenly the only secret she had kept from him was threatening to slip past her drunken red-stained lips.
“None of your business, but there’s this hot guy in my physics who I would totally shag,”
He laughed, but underneath it, he felt a jealousy creep up his spine, he knew he had no right since he’d been balls deep in two Italian models this morning, turns out threesomes are a really good cure for hangovers by the way. But despite that, he felt an itch he couldn’t scratch that resembled something pretty close to jealousy.
“What’s he like?” Harry asked.
She shrugged. “Dunno, tall, glasses, got that whole nerdy silent thing going for him.”
“That’s what you like then, silent types?” He asked, running a hand through his long curls, and she reached out to play with one.
She shook her head, and said distractedly, “I don’t know.”
“Makes sense why you never dated me then.”
During primary school, Harry dated every girl in their class including Daisy and Penny, except Y/n who told him she didn’t fancy him. It was an ongoing topic of discussion between them. Why wasn't he good enough? He always asked.
She laughed at that comment. “I know you too well for that, and I get the unfiltered you, and I lived with you which was basically like being married to you. We bickered too much to ever date, Haz.”
He looked at her with hooded eyes, and for some reason that stung, but trying to be light-hearted he said. “Never say never, what if we needed to repopulate the earth?”
She looked over at him and placed a hand on his and kissed his cheek, all soft and slow, and for a moment he thought she might actually kiss him for real but instead, she said. “There’ll be no hope for humanity then.”
He sighed, fake pouting before a couple of minutes of silence passed and he turned to her and said. “Come with me to Brazil.”
Her eyes widened, “What?"
“I leave tomorrow night, come with me.” He said.
She frowned. “What? Come with you? You can't be serious.”
He nodded. “Please? I miss you! And we can party for a whole week together, or sleep, or do whatever the fuck you want! Just come, pack a bikini and something sparkly, and I’ll take care of the rest.”
Y/n and Harry did end up going to Brazil but that’s a story for another time.
She stood up from the couch holding her hand out to him, and he slid his into hers. Cool rings grazing the soft skin of her palm.
“Let’s just go to sleep, you're talking like a crazy person.” She said, softly pushing a lock of his hair away from his eyes.
He sighed at her, “But m’ serious, Love.”
“Alright, ask me again tomorrow. That is if you even remember...now come on, let’s listen to Fleetwood Mac and sleep until tomorrow evening.”
Y/n's room was cosy and welcoming. Harry felt his eyes droop at the sight. A tiny lamp shining over them in an orange glow, her cot-like bed covered in blankets and the scent of her likely covering those sheets.
That night they slept in Y/n’s twin bed, cuddling, with Stevie Nicks serenading them to sleep. Cheeks plump and pink from too much alcohol, hands wandering scandalously, and the love in air was thick and obvious.
Before Y/n fell asleep she pecked his lips, in a quick kiss, one that it barely even touched him and said, “Night, mate,”
His lips burned like wildfire, and from that night on, he did think humanity had a chance if it was up to them. Whether or not she believed that.
“Night, Love.”
i have been a bit slack with updates lately...second year of uni is crazy and im already soooo busy, but i missed them and i wanted to write a lil sum for y'all until my next proper update :) BIG LOVEEEE

Gift from Eywa Pt. 1 - Neteyam
Main Masterlist ~ Avatar Masterlist
Spoilers, if you have not seen Avatar The Way Of Water!!!!
Tumblr media
1912 words
Part 2
Warnings: anxiety attack, mentions of Neteyam's Death.
+ Losing Neteyam was hard on everyone. Especially his family and soon to be mate, you. Near the anniversary of his death, you start to see things. Like hallucinations of Neteyam being there. You think you're going crazy but in reality, it is something very different.
Tumblr media
It had been about a year since the battle at Three Brothers Rock. Nearly a year since I lost Neteyam. It still hurts and I still cry every now and then but I've grown to accept his absence. I had followed him here when his family fled and I stayed even after his death. He was my mate to be and they were my family, I would never abandon them.
I rolled my eyes as Lo'ak tripped over the edge of the walkway, falling into the water. Tsireya and I kept walking, laughing as he sputtered in the water. I could hear Ao'nung teasing him before another splash turned our attention.
"How?" I asked Upon seeing both boys in the water with a net over their heads.
"Gotcha!" I jumped and saw Tuk jump out doing a happy dance. I laughed and looked at Tsireya.
"Your brother and future mate." I teased.
"Oh you!" She lightly hit my shoulder. She went to help the boys.
"I'd help but I really need to get these meals out to the fisherman out past the East shores. I'll see you later!" I called.
"Bye!" She waved. I nearly made it to the sand when Tuk came running up.
"Can I go with you?" She asked, holding her hands together with a pout.
"Oh, I guess. Here carry this one for me." I motioned to the small basket on top of the other one I was carrying.
"Yay!" She cheered before grabbing the basket. She skipped ahead while singing some tune. It was a bit of a walk to where the fishermen were at.
We were just about there and Tuk ran ahead. I chuckled and called out for her to be careful. Movement in the corner of my eye pulled my attention. On a sandbar, just a little ways off shore was a Navi male. I shielded my eyes from the sun to get a closer look at who it could be. I stilled, not believing my eyes. If I didn't know any better, I would say it was for sure Neteyam.
"Nete..." I whispered. The Navi turned toward me as if he heard me. A heat wave distorted his appearance for a second and then my heart fluttered at the familiar sight.
"Hey, sweetheart!" I quickly looked to see Jake atop a sand dune with Tuk, waving me over. "Come on."
"Coming!" I called. I looked back to the sand bar and saw no one. I looked around confused. The water wasn't disturbed around the area and the sand itself was smooth as if no one had been standing there. I jogged over to Jake and he took the basket from me.
"You alright, sweetheart?" He set a hand on my shoulder, looking at me worried.
"Yes. Just a bit hot." I assured him.
"Okay. If you're sure?" He asked. I nodded. "Alright. Go sit in the shade before heading back, both of you. Cool off for a bit."
"Okay." I agreed. He kissed Tuk's head before walking off. I sent one last toward the sand bar before heading towards the shade.
~
The Sully's decided to have a family day and invited Tonowari and his family as well. We were all at a small private cove after a leisurely fly. My ikran was playing with the others and the ilus a little farther offshore. The adults were lounging in the shallow water while the rest of us were out in deeper water.
"Catch me if you can!" Lo'ak yelled before splashing us. He drove down and swam away. We chased after Him for a bit. I veered off after a little bit to venture through the reef. I giggled as I was visited and nuzzled by some small fish.
Ahead of me just a bit, a small school of fish were scared off by something. A hand reached out from behind some plants and pulled themselves forward slightly. Before me was Neteyam again. I was in disbelief as he cocked his head to the side and smiled at me.
Neteyam? I signed and he nodded. He waved me over before backing out of sight. I quickly swam forward and rounded the corner... there was nothing there. I swam around a bit and found no sign of him. A hand was placed on my shoulder and jumped back into the reef. I flinched as I was cut up a bit. I turned to see Kiri.
Are you okay? She signed. I looked around and nodded. She came over and inspected my shoulder and pointed toward the shore. I went reluctantly.
~
A feast was being held for the anniversary of the defeat of the Sky people and a memorial for the lost in the battle. I was sitting in a hammock off to the side and just watching the festivities. I was nibbling on a sweet treat that Tseriya insisted I have when Neytiri came over to pull me to dance.
"Neytiri!" I whined but followed nonetheless. After a long, tiring dance I retreated to the side again.
It was late and I decided to turn in. After saying my goodbyes and goodnights I slipped away. I headed towards my marui but as I got there, there was someone standing in the entrance. I paused midstep, squinted at the figure.
"Who's there?" I called out and moved forward slowly. I thought about going back to get Jake or Lo'ak when the person responded back.
"Welcome home, Yawne." They said, The familiar voice struck a chord in my heart. Neteyam looked over his shoulder with a smirk before walking further in. I ran in after him only to find the space empty, There was a subtle trace of his scent in the air.
"No... why... I don't under..." I was so confused at what was happening. Why was I seeing Neteyam everywhere? So many emotions hit me all at once and a sob escaped my throat. Wails and sobs forced their way out as I cried and let out the frustration from all this.
I dropped to my knees as I cried. I doubled over on myself and wrapped my arms tightly around myself. I began to cry so hard that my breathing became irregular. I began to hyperventilate when I heard someone yelling behind me.
"Hey! Hey! Breath. What's wrong, sweetheart?" Jake appeared in my vision. He looked scared. I couldn't answer him as I began to choke. He helped me sit up. "Shit. Come on. I need you to breathe. Please!"
"Cc-can't." I was able to force out as the corners of my vision blurred. He said something else but it was muffled. Before anything else, I promptly passed out.
A cold sensation on my forehead woke me up from my dreamless slumber. I reached up and batted at the cold sensation.
"Yawne She's awake!" Someone called softly. I pried my eyes open and saw the ceiling of the tsahik's marui above me. I looked off to my left and saw Tonowari kneeling next to me. Ronal came in quickly and took his spot.
"How are you feeling?" She asks, brushing a hand over my head.
"Alright. A bit groggy but okay." I answered honestly. She nodded and began to check me over. Not long after, Jake & Kiri came running in.
"How are you feeling sweetheart?" Jake asked, kneeling on the other side of me. Kiri sat at my feet.
"Okay. What happened?"
"You passed out. Dad found you crying hysterically and you began to hyperventilate before passing out." She ran a comforting hand over my ankle.
"Sit up child." Ronal instructed. Jake helped me up and Ronal began to check my head. "Has anything strange happened recently?"
"Well actually..." I sighed.
"What is going on?" Kiri asked.
"Well, lately I've been having I don't know how to describe it... hallucinations maybe? Visions?"
"Of what?" Ronal set a hand on my shoulder. I didn't answer right away.
"Of Neteyam." I said softly. "It's like I'm seeing him everywhere. On the beach, on the reef, in my home... but everytime I see him he disappears just as quickly. It feels like he's actually there. I even could smell his scent this last time and and... I feel like I'm going crazy."
"No, child. There has to be an explanation. It could be due to the anniversary of his death and stress of the memory that comes with it. Grief has been known to play many tricks on the mind."
"I don't know..." I sniffled and leant into Kiri's side as she moved up next to me. She began to run her hands through my hair.
"We'll figure it out. Don't worry." Jake said. He squeezed my hand in comfort with a smile. I nodded my head and closed my eyes.
Later that day, I was walking down the beach with Ao'noug and Tsireya. I held my wrap around my shoulders as they argued about something. I hardly paid attention to them. I let the sea air calm me as I walked along wading in the shallow water.
"Shit..." I heard a voice speak faintly from somewhere followed by faint coughing. I looked back at the siblings to see if it was them or if they noticed but they were still arguing. I continued on until the sound of the cough happened again. I looked around and found nothing. Afraid someone may be hurt, I walked out of the water to look more. I paused when a figure entered my vision.
"Oh no. Not again." I saw Neteyam on his hands and knees across a bit of foliage on another piece of shore. I sighed, letting my shoulders fall. This was getting ridiculous.
"What is wrong? Do you see something?" Tsireya called out to me.
"No" I turned to look at her. "Nothing. I..." I turned back fully expecting the specter to be gone but he was still there, only trying to stand now. He coughed loudly.
"What was that? Was that someone coughing?" I looked at Ao'noug in disbelief. He had heard him. That must mean...
"Impossible." I turned back yet again to see him still there. "Neteyam... Neteyam!" I took off running for the boy. I ignored the calls from Tsireya and Ao'nong. He looked up when he heard me.
"Yawne..." He said before coughing again. He began to collapse just as I reached him. I caught him before he hit the ground, laying him in my lap.
"Nete... Oh my... you're here." Tears clouded my vision as I brushed my hand across his forehead. The two came running up but skidded to a halt when they saw Neteyam.
"Oh my Eywa. Neteyam?" Tsireya knelt next to us. Neteyam's eyes never left mine. I traced my fingers across his face, taking in the markings I missed so much and down to his chest to where the bullet wound should be but there was nothing.
"Go. Go get your father, mother, Jake, Neytiri. Someone! Quickly." They both took off and dove in the water towards the village.
"Yawne... I'm so tired. What happened? Where were you?" Neteyam asked.
"All in due time, love. For now, just rest. Yes?" I adjusted him to be leaning with his head against my shoulder. He reached up and held my bicep tightly.
"Yeah, yeah. Rest." He mumbled before closing his eyes. I refused to take my eyes off him even as everyone arrived, afraid he would disappear from me again.

Reformed Sinner! Reader ; 'Died' with Sir Pentious ~ Fox-Demon
🎸 Adam, despite what many in Heaven think, doesn't bother memorizing all of his descendants and what they do. He only sees them after they die during the Extermination
🎸 You were one of Sir Pentious' helpers when it came to making his creations, such as the Egg Boiz for example. And, when he had begun his charge up his ship to take on Adam head-first, you were one of the people inside of the ship, holding his hand as he said his so-called final words; Fire.
🎸 When you both awoke after falling onto a ground, you couldn't lie, you were horrified. After all, who just dies from being blasted by an angel and suddenly appears in a new land?
🎸 It took you a little more processing than your college, but, when you did finally come to terms that you were in Heaven, due to your actions in Hell against Adam, you were quite pleased
🎸 This action just allowed Heaven to realize their faults in judgement; Reformation was possible!
🎸 You and Pentious were taken to the main judgement room where Charlie and Vaggie were months prior and that was where you met your unknowing future spouse
🎸 Adam had just barely dodged the attack from Niffty and escaped back to Heaven with Lute on his tail as he swore revenge on the residents of the Hotel
🎸 He had then healed up and was required to go to the meeting where their Father, God, had set up to discuss the day's events and whatnot. And anyone could tell that he was both pissed and pleased
" And Adam. What in the name of Earth were you thinking?! I only allowed Extermination on the one condition that is happened when I decided it to be necessary, not for you to do it six months prior! Without my knowledge nonetheless! And, who are these two?! " " They're the first reformed sinners! My Father, meet Sir Pentious and Y/N L/N. "
🎸 Adam glared at you two, remembering how you stood beside Charlie as they declared war upon one another. And he remembered how determined you stared him in the eyes as he blasted you two nothing alongside your friend
🎸 Once God had calmed down and motioned for you, Pentious, and Adam to step forward and announced for everyone else to exit the room, the first man and grown more nervous than before
🎸 When the creator of life had placed you three at a table and told you guys to speak to one another without any malice or hatred, and, in turn, basically apologize, Adam straight-up asked why
" Because Adam. They are new members to our home, and that means we must treat them with the same amount of respect that we treat the natural Winners. Now, apologize. " " But- I- Ugh... fine... I'm sorry... " " Apology- " " Forgiven. And we apologize for attempting to kill you in return. We just- felt the need to protect our friends more than we had any value for each other's lives. "
🎸 He was shocked, you were apologizing for trying to kill him?! He had tried killing you! You must have been trying to deceive him, that is what foxes were known for; deceit.
🎸 Forcing a smile despite his confusion and wish to throw out colorfully decorated questions at you, Adam just pushed through the meeting second by second. But, he'd have to ask you questions later on. He just had too.

Reformed Sinner! Reader ; 'Died' fighting along Alastor ~ Chickadee-Demon
🗡️ She did not want to be here in the slightest.
🗡️ Why was she needing to tell her side of the story?! You and your little friend, Alastor, had attacked Adam, nearly killing him in the process, much to everyone's shock
🗡️ Lute was not amused with how you kept a small smile when mentioning your fight against Adam and how you had stood your ground during, smiling with full teeth- ones matching the Radio Demon's, though yours were more white
🗡️ The Father of Humanity just looked at you and your snake friend before smiling gently and motioning you and him to come closer so he could look into your eyes
🗡️ He could tell when someone was lying by looking deep into their eyes, it was something about their soul being based off of a piece of him that made it work
🗡️ Lute watched with narrowed eyes and your wings come flying backwards with force as your eyes turned white with black spots littering, oh how she hoped you and Pentious were banished back to Hell
" They pass. Their seems to be no amount of sin left within them, well, there is a hint, but a hint I can forgive. " " WHAT?! "
🗡️ Smacking her hands to her mouth, Lute slammed her head into the stand's top, making a loud thump echo throughout the room signalling her shock if the word was not enough
🗡️ The exorcist looked at you and Pentious and gritted her teeth as he began to tear up with joy as God summoned his little Egg Boiz back into existence, though they took on a more heavenly-egg form than an demonic-egg one
🗡️ Looking at you especially as a small bird landed on your large piece of feather-like hairs that stood up from your head, her heart began to pound heavily as her mind screamed at herself for the interior action
🗡️ Why in the name of Heaven was her heart pounding at your smile and gentle nature with the Egg Boiz and your little bird friend?!
🗡️ Whatever the reason was, she didn't want to think about it anymore. After all, such an action could be perceived as unholy, resulting in her demise to Hell
🗡️ Holding her spear closer, Lute nodded as God dismissed everyone and Emily hugged you and pet your bird as she spoke to Sir Pentious, asking you guys some stuff about the Hotel and who you guys believed could be redeemed next
🗡️ Lute almost bumped into you, but she stopped herself, allowing one question to burn in her mind as she began to walk away to where a certain female demon was;
🗡️ Why did you seem so cute?

Reformed Sinner! Reader ; 'Died' protecting Charlie from Adam ~ Hyena-Demon
💞 You were known to be very aggressive around those you deemed not worthy of your presence, and as one of the most dangerous demons in Hell when angry, even those in Heaven saw this come out
💞 This happened when Adam had tried to lay his hands on Charlie during the meeting, though you were far faster and more dangerous than Vaggie when it came to this time
💞 You had jumped the gun and kicked the first man away, shocking everyone. And when you barked for the two females to be sent back with you to your home, Sera just nodded and made a portal for you guys to leave, much to Adam's annoyance
💞 Emily had barely even met you, and it saddened her. But, seeing you defend Charlie from such a powerful heavenly figure made her heart skip a couple beats
💞 Wait- why was she thinking you looked amazing protecting the Princess of Hell?! Was this unholy?!
💞 She hadn't heard about or from you until Extermination Day, which was when Adam and his exorcists had descended to attack and kill as many sinners as they could
💞 And in Adam-ly fashion, they had went to attack the Hazbin Hotel first, much to everyone else's annoyance
💞 You had noticed that Adam was about to kill Charlie, so, you threw yourself in front of her, making his large attack hit you and in-turn kill you, and that action prompted the angry outburst of your closest friends, Alastor and Charlie
💞 Surprisingly though, you and Sir Pentious, who had also died protecting the Hotel and your friends, had appeared in Heaven before Sera and Emily
💞 Emily had looked at you both in awe, adoring your new look; your fur and tail was more well-kept and your ears were fluffier with the skin inside being shaped like tiny pink-tinted hearts to match your hand's markings
" Y/N! Oh my goodness, you got reformed! How awesome is this?! "
💞 The angel squealed and hugged you as you chuckled nervously, still adjusting to the bright surroundings. To be honest, you expected to close your eyes and never open them again
💞 Sir Pentious held onto you from behind as you led him throughout the building and during the meeting with your Creator and the rest of his heavenly council, and you had to admit, watching Emily gleefully talk about you and your friend was nice
💞 Maybe you could get used to your new afterlife here?
💞 Maybe Emily could hang out with you even more!
💞 Maybe this could be the start of a whole new relationship? Oh no she's going full on romantic, isn't she?

After an early morning phone call, your mother insists on coming to town for lunch. You couldn't bear to tell her everything over the phone and frankly, you don't know how much you should tell her. You remember in high school when you were sent home after Kelly Harris dumped mud in your lap, your mother was more irritated to have you home than empathetic.
You watch through the peephole before you sneak out. You haven't slept but you can't be sure Colin hasn't returned. There's enough noise in the building that it's hard to discern who's coming or going.
When you do emerge, you flit quickly to the first floor and dip out, looking over your shoulder for either Colin or his vengeful girlfriend. You get through the lobby without trouble but you're not in the clear. Surely the day holds nothing but trouble, regardless of where it comes from.
You check the time as you wait for the cab. You refer to the text your mother sent before she set out and give the driver the name of the restaurant. You've never been there before and you're certain it's well out of your price range. Another debt for the tally.
This is the last thing you ever wanted. It makes all this drama seem all the more ridiculous. You’re a grown woman and this is what you’ve come to. Back to square one.
You approach the restaurant doors and enter with a sheepish grin. You don’t know that you own anything that wouldn’t be underdressed for this bougie brunch locale. Once more, you look at your phone. Crap, she’s there first. That means you're late even if you agreed on nine.
The hostess shows you to the table where your mother waits. She has her compact out as she touches up her mauve lipstick. She doesn’t acknowledge you or the hostess as you sit. She snaps shut the mirror and sips from her stemmed glass of orange juice.
“About time,” she drawls, “oh, and nice to hear from you after all these months.”
Her eyes finally deign to land on you. You gulp. You should’ve taken the chance of talking to your father but ultimately you know it’s not up to him.
“You’ve been so busy with Geri’s wedding–”
“Don’t try to guilt me for your neglect,” she warns, “you should be happy for your sister. Her fiance is a charming man. You’ve met Colton, haven’t you?”
“Once or twice,” you grumble. Family get togethers weren’t exactly your favourite memories. “I’ve been waiting on my invite–”
“Invite? You’re a bridesmaid. Geri sent out that email months ago. Is this why you weren’t at the fitting?”
“I didn’t… I didn’t get an email.”
“You’re wrong. Certainly, you must be. You and the rest of the girls are bridesmaids. You have to be. And it might be good for you to be involved in a wedding at least once,” she tuts. You don’t miss the jibe. Yeah, not like you have much hope of walking down the aisle.
“I’ll… I’ll call Geri and clear things up,” you say, “how are the others?”
“Well, Maeve is graduating this year. Always exciting. She’s thinking of joining Audrey at her alma mater. And Livia is somewhere in Spain again.”
“Ah, yeah, she sent me some pictures,” you say.
“And you? What are you up to?” She challenges. She’s not genuinely curious.
“Well,” you take a breath, pausing as a server comes to ask what you’d like to drink. You get the same as your mother and peruse the menu.
“Well…” your mother prompts.
“Yeah, um, I…” you shake your head, you can’t even look at her, “I am on leave from work so… not much.”
“Leave? What does that mean?” She hisses.
You feel your eyes tinge. You look at her. Why is she so different to you? Your other sisters can spill all their worries and whims but you, it’s always judgment. You can never do anything right.
“Uh, I thought maybe it might be a good time to–”
“Ah, pardon,” you’re interrupted before you can sputter out the revelation of another failure. You cringe as you recognise Jonathan’s silky lilt. Why? How? Do you even dare questioning fate anymore? “I just, I had to say hello.”
You force a smile and look at him, trying not to falter in front of your mother’s all-seeing gaze. She sits up, and lets out a hum of surprise as she sees Johnathan. Her lashes give a telling flick.
“Hello?” She utters quizzically.
“This must be one of your sisters,” he says as he runs his hand up the sleek lapel of his blue jacket, “very pleased to finally meet you.”
“Sister? Oh, do not flatter me. I am her mother, Eugenia,” she introduces herself with a smug smirk, “and how do you know each other?”
“Uh, oh,” you stutter and send Jonathan a desperate look. Do you tell her you’re his disgraced former employee? Or maybe just business acquaintance. She’s going to know eventually, that’s why you’re here. “Jonathan is–”
“Jonathan Pine,” he introduces himself, “honoured to finally meet you.” He looks at you, arching a brow before turning his attention back to his mother, “you both must be so excited for your elder daughter’s upcoming nuptials?”
“British?” She intones with intrigue.
“You’ve caught me out,” he grins, “your daughter’s been rather helpful in getting me acquainted with this country. Very lovely…” he peeks at you again, “hardly as lovely as her. You’ve raised a rather endearing daughter.”
“You…” she blinks in confusion, sending you another flabbergasted peek, “you and my daughter…” she lets the suggestion hang. Jonathan does too as he gives you an option; come clean or take the bait.
“I was waiting to introduce you at the wedding,” you blurt out, “I… it’s new.” You say, each word jarring as the lies piece themselves together on your tongue, “and I thought,” you look at Jonathan pointedly, “he was out of town.”
“Business trip was canceled, rescheduled to a business breakfast,” he slithers, “I’m meeting Gerry soon,” he checks his watch, “but I will be sure to tell the hostess to put your bill with mine.”
“Oh–” you squeak.
“Oh my,” your mother trills, “you are too kind. That is…” she gapes at you openly, “you… you’re with my daughter. Her?”
He chuckles lightly, “why wouldn’t I be with such a beautiful woman?”
“I didn’t mean– I don’t– I’m very surprised,” she exclaims shrilly, “she never mentioned, but then again, she’s always been so private. So shy. And you seem like such a lovely man.”
“I like to think so, but please, she is not the lucky one,” he preens and steps towards you. He places his hand on your shoulder and bends, grazing his lips across your cheek, “go with it,” he whispers.
You turn your head just as his lips aim for yours. He kisses you and the air leaves the room. Your chest ties tight and your entire body tingles. Oh, wow. You’re too swept up in the sensation of his unexpected kiss that you can’t remember why you were so off-kilter a moment ago.
“Now let me not interrupt further. A mother-daughter reunion,” he puts his hand to his chest, “how sweet.”
He backs away and dips his chin. He turns on his heel and crosses the restaurant as you stare after him. The server approaches and sets your drink in front of you. You drink it in the silence of your mother’s disbelief.
“Well, you’ve done finely,” she says in a stunted cadence, “I… he’s so handsome. And tall. And blond!”
“Mom,” you plead as you nearly choke on the orange juice.
“Well. Even you must realise he’s very… dashing as they’d say in his home country,” she flutters her lashes dreamily, “oh, yes, you must bring him to the wedding. He’ll look wonderful in the photos.”
You wet your lips with your tongue and nod. You look down at the table, still buzzing as your lips warm up. You can’t stop thinking about that kiss. It nips away at the anger that kept you up all night, but hardly solves your anxiety.
You can’t tell your mother you expect to be evicted in the next month or that you lost your job. So what now? How do you untangle the knot that only grows bigger and bigger?
💗
For once, your time with your mom is less than torturous. She keeps her barbs dull enough to leave you only bruised. Her mood is a touch above neutral, which for you, is an accomplishment. You’re content but not entirely at ease. You have a lot to figure out.
You bid her goodbye just outside the patio seating and wave to her as she unlocks her luxury car. You watch until you see her get in and let out a sigh. Shit. Not only do you have Jonathan to worry about, but you don’t expect Colin to be AWOL much longer.
So what do you do? Go home and face the music or call Jonathan and try not to melt into a puddle of embarrassment. It was a nice favour of him to pretend but you don’t want to assume anything. High hopes and stupid girlish fantasies got you into all this.
As you walk along the curb, a short toot draws you to a stop. You turn as the whir of a car window steals your attention and you face the familiar car. Jonathan leans over the passenger seat to see you.
“You’re not going to run away again, are you?” He asks.
You twist your heel into the pavement and bend down. You furrow your brows as that big question needles between them. You can’t lie anymore, you can’t just wait for the truth to come out, you just have to ask.
“How did you know I was here?”
His brows lift and his eyes roll to the side. He gives a guilty grin, “I hope you don’t… misinterpret it but I… staked out your building.”
“What?” You puff out.
“Yes, I know, it sounds very bad. And I won’t claim it was entirely sane but I wanted to see the police take him away after I filed the report. To be sure you were safe and then… I sat stuck in my own head. Wanting to run up those stairs and knock on your door but also terrified you wouldn’t answer,” he shrugs, “and I followed you because I worried you might run into him, but that’s only half the reason…”
You swallow and step closer, “Jonathan, what are you doing?”
“Being crazy,” he lowers his eyes bashfully, “I know, you don’t need two madmen after you.”
You shake your head and reach for the handle. You open the door and get in. He sits back, watching you as you move your purse into your lap. You stare at the dashboard.
“What is going on?” You turn your head and look into his beautiful blue eyes, “what is this?”
“I don’t…” he begins.
“You’re my boss.”
“I was.”
“I never should’ve dragged you into this–”
“I’m so happy you did,” he murmurs.
“Jonathan, please,” you beg, “it’s not right–”
“You quit,” he insists, “so what isn’t right?”
You pout and sit back, turning straight and looking up at the upholstered ceiling of the car. You don’t know what to say. No, you don’t know how to say it. Except…
“I’m stupid.”
“What?” He scoffs.
“I’m stupid because… I’m scared and lost. And I can’t make you follow me through that.”
“What do you mean?”
“Feelings don’t just go, they just get complicated,” you explain, parsing through the stirring in your gut, “I hate Colin, I’m scared to hell of him, but I still… feel some of those things I felt.”
“Oh, but darling,” he reaches over and rests his hand above your shoulder, “I know feelings don’t just go. Mine certainly won’t.”
“Feelings? For me? Are you sure it’s not pity?”
“I only pity myself for how deeply I’ve fallen,” he breathes as you sense him leaning in, “the first day I saw you, I knew. I’ve never been much of a romantic but I have to confess something.”
“What?” You shy away, sensing how close he is.
“I knew how to use the coffee machine,” he admits, “I just needed an excuse.”
“You… did?” You look at him. He’s so much closer than you thought.
“Oh yes, if you hadn’t helped with the machine, I would’ve failed miserably in front of you at making copies. And if that didn’t work, well, I suppose I’d just have to make a mistake in my numbers,” he purrs, “you would’ve helped me, wouldn’t you?”
You quiver out a breath. You want to collapse into him, you want to let him make you forget everything but him, and yet, you’re so afraid. You’re afraid to believe that this could ever be real for you.
He doesn’t let your fear win. His lips are on yours again and that’s all you need. Nothing is left but that moment, the feeling of his mouth on yours, how his hand comes up to frame your jaw and cradle your cheek, his other creeping behind your head as he clings to you desperately. You can’t help by latching onto his collar, diving into his need.
You don’t stop until you're dizzy and breathless. He pulls back, hovering before you, thumb tracing your cheek bone as his other hand tickles your neck. His eyes search you, admire you, you’ve never been looked at like that.
“May I drive you home?” He asks softly, nuzzling your nose with his.

"You're soft, you know," Joel stiffened at the sound of Ellie's comment. He had a feeling he knew where this was going, but decided not to indulge her. Not yet anyway, "for her."
"Ellie," his voice was careful, collected. So much for being any sort of subtle.
"I'm just saying," she holds up her hands innocently, playing as best as she could into her innocent child role, "and everybody knows."
“Nobody knows anything,” he insisted with a gentle, playful little tap to the side of her cheek, “y’all are always so nosey with everyone else’s business, makes me wonder what any of you ever get done.”
“Hey, I’m a kid, I’m not supposed to do anything,” she stuck her tongue but Joel’s hands settled on his hips as he gave her that look, “fine, I do some things.”
“Some things,” he twanged back at her, “like your chores, right? Which you should be doing right now, not harassing me, so get going.”
“You’re so stubborn,” she groaned, throwing her arms up in the arm, “and blind! Dude, just tell her!”
“Ain’t nothing to tell!” he called after her as she threw up her middle finger. If she would have looked back she would have seen the wicked, rosy blush that was covering his cheeks. His face felt warm enough to fry an egg on.
He wondered if people were really that perceptive or if just she was. He hated the idea that he was being so obvious. It wasn’t that he wasn’t into you, oh no. Joel Miller was into you; the whole picturing a future together, picturing you in his bed when he was alone at night, growing old(er) with you, type of into you.
He just had no clue if you felt the same. Even remotely so. And he wasn’t about to make a fuckin’ fool out of myself by making a move and potentially being wrong. The thing he hated most of all was the idea of a life without you. He’d rather keep you as a friend than lose you altogether.
Joel huffed at him, feeling pathetic with how lovesick he sounded. He wasn’t some sort of teenage boy, he was a grown ass man.
“Hey cowboy,” okay. He was a pathetic lovesick grown ass man, “whatcha up to?”
“Nothing,” fucking hell. Joel’s voice pitched up about three octaves as he glanced over at you, standing in the backyard like a vision. He never knew he loved sundresses so much; not until the weather grew warm and you started wearing them. You and those pretty little dresses were going to be the death of him, “just working on a few things around the house.”
“Hmm,” you mused as you walked over, ghosting your fingers along the flowers that had started growing, “need a hand? I’m done with the things I needed to do today. The rest are a problem for future me.”
“I like your thinking,” he agreed, setting down the hammer he’d absentmindedly picked up to look like he was doing something, “let’s call it a day.”
“Want to head to the river?” Your suggestion was followed by a sugary sweet smile that made him want to take you in his arms and kiss you, “we can bring some lunch and have a little picnic.”
He wanted to have a little more than lunch. But that was a conversation for a different day.
“Sure,” he agreed, a vain attempt at nonchalance, but if you noticed, you didn’t give it away, “let me just get out of these dirty clothes first.”
“Need a hand with that?” you teased, feeling emboldened for whatever reason. The surprised look on his face as he opened and closed his mouth like a fish out of water was worth it, “I’m just teasing, Joel. No need to look so panicked. You change and I’ll get some lunch together. Do you think Ellie would like to come?”
“No!” he insisted quickly before realizing his gaff. You raised an eyebrow but remained silent, “she’s busy with her chores this afternoon. Kid’s gotta earn her keep, you know?”
“Mhmm,” you reached over and put a hand on his shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze, “well, just meet me at mine when you’re done. Door will be unlocked as always.”
Joel watched wordlessly as you flounced away, skirt swishing and hips swaying. He was pretty sure he was almost drooling, but caught himself before anyone around seemed to notice. You were trouble; you were absolutely going to cause him to lose it.
And god, he was so here for it.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
You looked nervously around the kitchen, trying to figure out what you could throw together for a little picnic. You hadn’t really thought this far ahead - you hadn’t really expected him to say yes. Not that Joel had ever said no to you but still…one never knew. Maybe the dress was helping; you’d worn it purposely after all. Men practically became putty when they saw a woman in a sundress.
“Fuck,” you sighed to yourself, already mentally prepping the food as you grabbed the picnic basket out of the cupboard. You sang to yourself, “don’t fuck it up, don’t fuck this upppppp.”
You kept singing that mantra to yourself as you bounced around the kitchen and managed to whip up a lunch that wasn’t too shabby at all. By the time Joel made his way over to yours, you were flushed and breathless. His handsome face and lovely smile were almost too much for you. You felt like a victorian maiden in the presence of a man alone for the time.
Yikes. You really needed to get laid. Preferably by Joel, but that was a worry for another day.
“What’s got you smilin’ like that?” you could have sworn there was a knowing little smile on his face.
“Nothing,”you. You weren’t about to just freely admit that yet, “just excited to get to spend some time in the sunshine with my best guy.”
You couldn’t bring yourself to look at him. You knew you wouldn’t be able to take his reaction, be it good or bad.
“Come on,” he reached for the basket before you could even think about reaching for it, “let’s get going then, sweetheart.”
You warmed up under his saccharine gaze but let him take the basket nonetheless and followed after him.
As the two of you walked towards the lake, on the outskirts of the ever expanding Jackson, a few people here and there stopped to say hello and, you know, do the whole chit-chat thing. You loved talking to people and totally soaked it up…meanwhile Joel was a totally different story. He didn’t dislike people, not unless they gave him a reason to, but he wasn’t a big talker or mingler.
You wouldn’t say he was cold to others (Ellie totally would), but he was absolutely soft for you. Even if you didn’t know it, you had that man wrapped around your finger.
While he vehemently tried to avoid being stopped by anyone else, you looped your arm through his…and almost killed him in the process. You smelled sweet, not cloying so, but just right and your skin was dangerously soft. He should have gotten an award or something for how much self control he managed to exercise around you.
Meanwhile, you were oblivious to the internal struggle he was currently experiencing, instead talking his ear off about something Gemma had said to Ben but then did with Kerrie. He wasn’t sure, he was only half listening, way too distracted by you.
When you got to the lake, you slipped your hand into the basket and pulled out the soft blanket that you’d had enough forethrough to bring. You tossed it under the shade from one of the trees so neither of you would get too hot from the direct sunlight. You sat down and patted the space next to you, watching as he set the basket down, his brows knitted together in what appeared to be deep thought.
It wasn’t all that deep; he was trying not to stare at your breasts or how good they looked in that dress, or how your legs looked particularly enticing. If you were to sum it all up, he was basically trying not to be a pubescent boy and pop a boner at the sight of you.
Grown man he repeated to himself, you are a grown man.
“I don’t bite,” was it on purpose? Maybe, maybe not. But you liked the look of pure panic that his face morphed into, “unless you want me to.”
“Sweetheart-”
“C’mon,” you cut him off, enjoying this a little too much, “pull out some sandwiches because I’m starving!”
So was he. Just not for food. Well - you and food if he was being honest.
When he froze, you reached over him and pulled out the freshly cut fruit and sandwiches for each of you, handing it to him with an air of innocence. He gratefully accepted your offering, stuffing his face full before he could make too much of a fool of himself.
And from there, as always, the two of you feel into easy conversation, about life, this, that, and everything in between. You liked that about him - things were always so easy, so right with Joel. In the time since he and Ellie had arrived in Jackson the winter before, Joel Miller had easily become your best friend…and all around favorite person.
You wanted to tell him, really, but you were terrified of messing things up and losing him. It wasn’t worth the risk. Not yet anyway…and maybe never but yeah. Joel was it for you in so many ways.
"Berries," his smile lit up his entire face, effectively pulling you out of your little fantasy. You nodded as you watched him grab a ripe strawberry and pop into his mouth, "my favorites!"
"I know," ugh. How was this man adorable and dorky on top of everything else? It was unfair, "you told me."
"When? Like once in passing," he raised his eyebrows as you tried to play it off, "you remembered?"
"I remember a lot of things," you whispered, "especially about the people that mean most to me."
Joel was stunned, unable to think of the words to properly convey what he was feeling. He opted for a nod as he leaned against the tree, casting him in a golden, sunny light.
You grabbed a few berries from the bowl and gave him a wink before lying down on the back, staring at the fluffy white clouds.
The two of you settled into a comfortable silence as you ate the lunch you had packed, growing full and warm.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
After a while, you came up with a brilliant plan. You sat up and looked around to make sure no one was nearby before standing back up.
"Swim with me," you said suddenly as you grinned at Joel. He remained silent as you started to push up your dress, brown eyes wide and his throat feeling thick. You shucked the dress off and tossed it by him, "Joel?"
"O-okay," he was trying not to lose his control as you stood there in front of him, only a bra and panties. You were so carefree, uninhibited, and wild that it was infectious. You tied up your hair before walking over to the water and motioned for him to hurry up, "are you sure you want to-"
You jumped into the water before he could say anything else, remaining below the water for a few moments to let your body adjust the temperature difference. When your lungs started to burn, you floated back up and broke through the surface. Joel was standing at the edge of the lake, hands on his lips as he watched, a lazy little smile on his face.
“Water’s perfect,” you drew back your hand and splashed them gently, “come on in!”
You could see his hesitation and shook your head. You swam to the edge and held out your hand to him. He was weighing something in his mind, mulling over his decision before he eventually tugged off his boots and pants, kicked them to the side. It was a moment until he gathered up the courage to pull off his shirt - silly, he would say but you would argue otherwise - but he tossed into the pile of your clothing.
“Handsome,” you cooed softly as his shoulders relaxed. And he was, you weren’t just trying to make him feel better. You could see the scars and marks littering his body along with the freckles you already planned on connected with your lips, and the muscle under the softness. You loved him - all of him, “alright?”
“Alright,” he agreed before sitting down and dangling his legs in and eventually slipping all the way into the water. You could tell he was up to something but your musing was quickly put to an end when you felt his hands on your hips, causing you to shriek in surprise. You heard him laughing as you pouted at him, “what’s wrong, sweetheart?”
“You are a menace,” you turned around so you were facing him, settling your hands on his shoulders, “you, Joel Miller, are trouble.”
“Yeah?” he was practically vibrating under your touch as you tried to give him a somewhat serious expression. It fell flat, more of a sweet, innocent look, which made his heart even softer than he thought possible, “what about you then? What does that make you?”
“Sweet and innocent,” you grinned softly, “I’m a good girl.”
Fuck, fuck, fuck. Were you trying to kill him?
“Oh sweetheart,” he tried to keep it from sounding too much like a groan, “you are something else.”
You hummed in content as you closed your eyes and tilted your head towards the sun. You couldn’t have imagined a better day - but there was still one more thing you wanted to know that could make the day even better than anything else, “So, I was talking to Ellie…and she told me something interesting.”
“Ellie says a lot of things.” oh no. His heart was racing so quickly that he was afraid that he was going to pass out, “mostly nonsense.”
“I’m not so sure on that one,” you snorted in amusement, “do you wanna know what she told me?”
“I suppose you’re going to tell me regardless of what I say…”
“Of course,” you reached over and stroked his cheek, watching as a boyish grin grew on his face, “she told me that you like me. You know, like me like me.”
“And she said it just like that?” he asked, trying to his cool as you tried to read his expression.
“She did actually,” you stuck your tongue out at him, “are you gonna tell me if its true or not? Or are ya gonna leave me guessing?”
“Do you really need me to tell you or do you already know the answer?” he was deflecting, trying to make sure he hadn’t read anything wrong.
“I’m pretty sure that you’re hopelessly and madly in love with me,” you were teasing - but only just. You both knew that much, “but a little bit of reassurance doesn’t hurt either.”
“I am,” he confirmed after a few moments of tranquil quietness passed between the two of you. Inside you were practically screaming and bursting with joy. When you didn’t didn’t say anything, he grew worried, “is that…are you…okay? You’re makin’ me nervous sweetheart.”
“Yes,” you gave him the most dazzling smile. You paused for a moment before quietly exhaling, “oh! I’m in love with you too. If that wasn’t obvious….I thought it was, but I figured you’d want to hear it too.”
“I did, he relaxed; every fiber of his being was humming with positive energy. Holy shit. You loved him. You were in love with him, “were you ever going to say anything?”
“Eventually,” you confessed, “but I kind of liked watching you squirm too. You look real cute when you blush, you know.”
“I do not,” he huffed indignantly, “I do not blush.”
“Whatever you say, love,” oh. He liked that sound of that, “are you going to kiss me or?”
“Do you want me to?” his eyes widened, “you want me to kiss you?”
“Very much so,” you agreed, “I would love it if you kissed me…finally.”
“Finally?” he asked, wondering if you’d wanted this for as long and as much as he had. The look on your face said it all.
“Finally.”

Midnight meeting

Astarion x Reader/Tav (GN)
Spoilers for the end of the game
It's done. The tadpoles are gone and all that's left is the future waiting for you to start a new chapter of your life. There's one person you're not going to leave behind, however.
Warnings: None really. Fluff. Astarion being Astarion. Not ascended. My game glitches at the end and I couldn't see the scene with Astarion, just Gale and Shadowheart T-posing while the dialogue popped up. So I wrote this.
♡♡♡
The sun had set on, what you could only describe as, a terribly busy day. The fate of everyone and everything relied on you and your friends taking down an Elderbrain.
If someone had told you a few years prior this is what your life would become, you wouldn't have believed them. Yet, you wouldn't change a single thing about it. Any of it.
There have been good times and bad times. It had been a struggle. There were nights where you lay there wondering if that night would be your last. There was also Astarion.
Your darling Astarion.
When the time came for him to make a difficult decision, you had been there to help make the choice. You had grown so close to the vampire, he opened his heart to you. A relationship blossomed unexpectedly. At first you were his entertainment, his guarantee of safety. Then he fell for you for real and he wasn't sure what to do about it.
One night he made up his mind. He liked you. A lot. You were sticking by his side through everything and he wanted more of that. You were so patient. So understanding. So kind. He didn't think he deserved any of it, but he was certainly glad to recieve it all.
You had become his person.
However, now that everything is right in the world again, the tadpole gone and people can go back to living their lives, Astarion can't help feeling guilty.
You had talked him down from ascension, which he was glad for, but also sad about because he could.no longer walk in the sun. He missed the days of waking up and seeing the sun shining on your beautiful face. He missed how it's warmth felt on his skin. He missed how happy you looked during the day.
Here you were, just past midnight, sitting by a fire keeping him company. He is watching you quietly. The glow of the moon filters in from a window. You look beautiful. Yet, his heart his heavy. He feels guilty.
You can feel his eyes on you. You lift your gaze. Those stunning red eyes are gazing at you, but you can tell he is lost in thought. You frown softly.
"Astarion?"
He doesn't move. Whatever is on his mind has really taking him away. Slowly, you reach out. Your hand finds his and your fingers curl around his pale skin. A slight jolt rocks through his body and he blinks. His gaze is on you and he is seeing you again.
"Apologies." His voice is soft. Distant.
"Are you alright?" You ask softly.
"Fine." Astarion turns his head back to the fire, but you can see the way he sulks. You move closer to him, shuffling into his side. Your arms wrap around him in a gentle embrace. You feel the way he craves your touch.
"Talk to me, Astarion. What's on your mind?"
He is silent for a few moments, but when he speaks his voice is soft and sad. "Are you happy?"
You look at him in disbelief. "Is that a real question?"
He nods.
You can't believe he ever felt the need to ask something life that. You lift a hand to his cheek and caress his cold skin. "I'm happier than I have ever been."
"What I mean is... are you happy with me? Staying with me is... is to be stuck in the shadows with me. You have no reason to deprive yourself of the joys of life to stay by my side. I... won't ask that of you."
"Astarion, you're not depriving me of anything. I love you. I will stand by your side because that's what I want. I won't ever leave you by yourself in the shadows."
Astarion's eyes glisten. He looks like he wants to cry. You stroke his cheek with your thumb softly.
"Do you hear me?" You ask softly. "I'm her because I want to be here. I love you more than anything. I am not about to abandon you after everything."
Astarion can't help himself. His arms wrap around you and he pulls you into his chest. He holds you tight and buries his face into your shoulder.
"Gods, I don't deserve you."
You smile.
"I'm exactly what you deserve."
The two of you sit like that for a while. Astarion has never been more grateful for anything. Meeting you, letting you talk him down from ultimate power, and for you chasing him into the shadows when it was all over.
You're his most precious gift, and he will never forget that.

ayoo... mayhaps we get a moment when Kaeya finally realizes he's ready for kids??
i have been hoarding this ask for way too long and i know in my heart of hearts that kaeya would want to adopt a child
Tumblr media
every saturday afternoon, on what’s meant to be your day off, you and kaeya teach a swordsmanship seminar.
when kaeya had first been given the responsibility by the acting grand master, you’d only tagged along to watch. you handed out water and pretended not to swoon whenever the sun reached its peak and your husband undid a few more buttons of his shirt.
you’d only started helping out after the incident where bennett had somehow cut mika’s finger off. the seminar had grown so popular that it was hard for him to keep track of all the attendees and all their limbs, apparently. not just amongst the knights and the members of the adventurer’s guild.
“captain kaeya!” the kids shout, almost trampling over bennett as they rush over to their favourite knight. he greets each one of them by name, patting their heads and ruffling their hair as they gaze up at him, excited for today’s lesson.
he outfits each of them with a wooden training sword, making sure they’re all arms-length apart before beginning. like always, he starts with leading them in a battle cry.
“knights use battle cries to rally their spirits and remind themselves what they’re fighting for before a battle,” he explains, pointing his sword up high, prompting the children to do the same. “what are you guys passionate about? what are we fighting for today?”
“for sticky honey roast!” a girl with twin pigtails cries out with a passion you think might rival jean’s.
“alright,” he laughs, flashing you a smile when you giggle from the sidelines. “today we learn to fight in the name of sticky honey roast.”
each stance and swing of his sword, the children copy. their footwork is a little wobbly and their sword swings a touch hesitant, but it’s nothing that kaeya can’t fix, squatting down to adjust their footing or their grip. he always seems to know what each child needs, offering gentle words of encouragement and always praising them for a job well done.
the children look at him like he hung the moon and stars, and kaeya, of course, preens at their attention. they crowd him when they’re done with their lesson, when he rewards them with candies and little trinkets.
“thank you, papa!” the girl with the pigtails exclaims, throwing herself into his arms. the look on kaeya’s face is priceless.
the sun is setting by the time he’s finished, his arm slung around your shoulder as you walk to angel’s share.
you glance up at him, nothing the soft remnants of a smile still gracing his face. “you’re in a good mood.”
“of course i am. i have a good life,” he answers, pulling you closer. “and i had a good day, hanging out with those kids.”
“you’re really good with them,” you nod. “they really love you.”
you’re not surprised, because kaeya is good with everyone. all of mondstadt adores the calvary captain.
“after i walked them back to the orphanage the headmaster said—” he pauses, seeming uncharacteristically hesitant. “she said i’d be a good father someday.”
“you’d be a great dad,” you murmur, reaching up to pat his hand.
“do you think about stuff like that? with me, i mean.”
“no, with huffman,” you tease, causing him to scoff and turn away. you simply laugh, resting your head on his shoulder. “kaeya, of course i’ve thought about starting a family with you someday.”
he perks up a little, pausing mid-stride in front of the tavern. “why don’t we start now, then?”
you gaze flicks toward the door. “is diluc’s future niece or nephew about to be conceived in the back room of his tavern?”
he rubs the back of his neck a little sheepishly. “i mean they could be…but - only if it’s alright with you - i’d actually like to go back to the orphanage. there are a lot of kids here who need parents. and when i think about what crep— about what my father did for me, i want to do that.”
_____
on sundays, everyone gathers at the alberich household for dinner (where the main course is always a sticky honey roast, as per a special someone’s request.)
kaeya’s gaze is pulled in your direction when he hears you laugh, conversing with diluc as you weave twin plaits into your daughter’s hair.
the little boy in his arms (with your eyes and his nose) is restless, eager to be let down to play. so kaeya sets him on the floor, pressing a kiss atop the crown of his head and making sure he’s steady before letting him toddle towards his sister. you coo when she pulls him into her lap, hugging him tightly.
kaeya leans back in his chair, watching the scene before him unfold with a quiet smile on his face. he’s always felt a little split on the inside, unsure of his place in the world.
but now he knows that it’s most certainly right here.

Pairings/Relationships: Older!Eddie Munson/Reader
Warnings/Themes: Established Relationship, Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Fluff, Difficult Family Relationships, Found Family, Set around Christmas but not explicitly Holiday-related.
Note: As we go into this holiday season and I'm reminded of some difficult things in my own past, I decided to write this for all of us who sometimes desperately wish that we were simply from nothing. It would certainly be easier that way.
You can find my masterlist here.
Please do not interact if you are not 18+.
Enjoy!
---
You don't know where you're going unless you know where you've been.
That's what everyone seemed to tell you when they found out about your "don't dwell on the past" mentality.
You moved forward. Worked on yourself. Always striving to be more, to be better. Reflection was for learning, not for obsessing. You were a product of your past, yes, but you would not be haunted by it.
It was one of the things you and Eddie agreed on when you first met.
It had been less of a meet cute and more of the hands of fate smashing the two of you together like a child making their toys kiss. But you were stuck together from that moment on. Embracing one another wholeheartedly and not entirely whole without each other. But if you were going to do this--take steps into the future together--you couldn't keep looking over your shoulders for the ghosts of your past to sneak up on you.
And that meant trust.
It was difficult early on, as you got to learn things about each other. You needed to constantly practice patience. The questions that usually came with getting to know someone new--getting to love someone new--were sometimes left unanswered. Sometimes it was simple things like why you didn't want to listen to that one Roxette cassette tape that had a permanent home in your glovebox. Other times it was something serious, like where he got those scars.
"I can't talk about it," one of you would say, insist.
Not won't, not don't-want-to. Can't.
And then it was behind you.
Buried beneath the seconds, minutes, hours of the nows and togethers and tomorrows that you could think about instead.
One day, the fractioned parts of yourself that remained in the shadows suddenly and unexpectedly came to light. Both of your secrets that weren't really secrets tangible and in your newly-shared living space.
Mail.
Nothing good ever came in the mail. Bills and notices from the government and chain letters.
And postcards.
Well, holiday cards in the form of postcards.
Two of them.
They were similar but so very different and you and Eddie both looked on in horror as groups of smiling faces stared up at you. Each of you recognizing one and not the other.
Yours. A family stared back at you. A father and mother and grown up children with their own partners and children. All standing in a wintry landscape in matching sweaters with arms slung around each other. One particular set of eyes stared into the camera, into your soul, burning you.
His. A different kind of family. A group of young adults, graduation caps all on their heads, a girl with short brown curls in the middle looking extremely proud of herself, and a boy whose laughter was so visibly boisterous you could practically hear it through the postcard. They all stood in front of a Christmas tree decorated with diplomas that rested on the branches, instead of ornaments.
"I didn't kn--" You and Eddie both speak the same words over one another, as in sync as you are.
"Who are th--" It happens again and this time you hold a hand over your mouth, emotion getting the better of you.
It's a moment you know you've both dreaded for a while, the willful ignorance of the past in favor of a blissful present. But it's here.
Nothing came from nothing.
"I didn't know that they had the new address," Eddie shrugged and crossed his arms over his torso. "My, uh...uncle must have told them."
His uncle who you know of but heard very little about. Had some kind of insurance or lawsuit payout and lived in a quiet little cabin by a lake so he could fish. Eddie had gone to see him...for his birthday maybe? He didn't really specify and you didn't ask.
You could now...
"Who are they?" you asked instead.
"Old friends." His smile is strained and almost looks like a grimace. "They were freshmen when I...well I mean, they're not anymore. Been through a lot of shit together though."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
He's tense, almost like any other words you ask will inflict stinging battle damage and he's preparing himself for it. His one hand scratches at his side--at his scars--like he does when he gets nervous.
You didn't want him to be nervous around you. That's not what you're here for.
"Eddie Munson, babysitting service," you said instead and flipped the postcard over. It says Merry Christmas from The Hoppers. No return address. Your eyes turned back to the kids' faces. No similarity. To Eddie or each other. Adopted? Didn't really matter. You didn't need to speculate, he would tell you if he wanted.
But he didn't want to. At least not now.
Instead he scoffed and shook his head with his crooked grin.
"No that's our other friend," he grabbed the card from you and inspected their faces a little closer, nose practically touching the cardstock. "Steve. Always the babysitter, he said."
"Uh huh."
Something in your chest opens up then, like your ribs snapping off to reveal a wide and ominous cavern, as he hesitantly points each of the kids out to you. A name, a quick fact, and a fond smile.
Nothing more, but it's still a lot...and it still feels like...
An obligation.
One you never felt with Eddie before.
You refuse to take your eyes off of his postcard, even though yours sits on the counter, right in your peripherals. You hesitate even when he finishes his introduction...explanation.
Finally you pick it up, holding it delicately at the corners, as though putting your fingerprints on the picture will somehow bond you to the people contained within.
The words are lodged in your throat. Things you...really...
You don't want to say them but they're there.
This kind of thing will show up from time to time.
That's Michael and that's Simon. I didn't even know Simon got married, wow.
The last time I saw them was...5 years ago? 10?
And that's...
You cleared your throat and the words flew out, violently like you were given some pseudo-Heimlich maneuver. A piece of your life, a piece of your identity, choked and spat into the room. It smacked against Eddie's chest and fell wetly, disgustingly to the floor.
"That's my family."
He sensed your discomfort immediately.
"You don't have to--"
"No," you stopped him. "I want to."
"No you don't."
"No I don't. But I want you...to know. At least a little."
He huddled close to you, closer than you already were when he showed you his own postcard. You don't take the lead though and he awkwardly pointed out where this person has your eyes and that's your smile.
You're not sure if he did it so you could just focus on you and not them but it does help. It helps to see a younger version of yourself in your niece and the same crinkles of your eyes in your brothers.
"And who's this asshole?" he asked, pointing to...
"Uhm..." you're hesitant. "That's Mark."
You haven't called him dad in a while. Not even in your head.
"Her?"
"Mary."
And she's been his wife for years but you've never called your step-mother anything other than her name since you met her.
Eddie remained silent for a moment and you wondered if he knew. Maybe when you guys combined your rolodexes in the first week of living together and you stood by the phone trying to figure out whether it should be alphabetized by first name (his) or last name (yours), he noticed the stack of contacts that shared the same last name as you. Phone numbers that, again, hadn't been dialed in years.
Keep them, your mom had told you way back when. In case of emergencies. Better safe than sorry.
She, like Eddie's uncle, probably shared your new address as well.
You don't know whether to thank her or curse her now, as you hold your breath and wait for Eddie to say something.
Your mind raced and you wondered whether or not to speak first instead. If he wanted some kind of story from your family, from your past, you could run to the closet and pull out a picture of your grandma, tell him about her instead. Or maybe he'd want to know about the great grandfather whose name you found in a book at Ellis Island some time ago, who worked on the railroad and had eight siblings who all died before they turned 18. Some strange family curse he avoided.
Anything, anything, anything but them.
He inhaled.
"They look like they're boring," he chuckled. "Matching sweaters? Seriously?"
"Mary picks them out," you explained. "And yeah. She is pretty boring."
"I don't want them on the fridge with my magnets." You smacked your hand against his chest weakly. "What?"
"Your magnets?"
"You know how many garage sales I had to go to so I could find all of the Campbell's soup cans? Michael and Scottie and Mork's lovely Sears Catalog sweaters are gonna make the Cream of Mushroom look like trash. Pass."
He yoinked the postcard from your hand and tossed it over his shoulder, and you felt a weight lift off your chest.
Out of sight out of mind.
Eddie turned you to face him and cupped your cheeks in his hands, whispered words of thanks and praise and reassurance as he pecked kisses around your face. And when he was done, you returned the favor.
Neither you or Eddie liked to dwell on the past, but you could acknowledge it when it decided to pop up from time to time.
Because nothing came from nothing.
If it did, the two of you wouldn't have ended up here.
Together.

Hi!! Can I request Gepard, Jing Yuan and Luocha (separately) yandere dad's hcs?
I'll add that your mother passed away at childbirth for this, hope thats okay with you.
Trigger Warning: Yandere, Obsessive behaviour, Possessive behaviour
Gepard: He is probably the most overprotective father you could ever have, you are always followed by atleast 3 silvermane guards that he himself has picked out. And you have a set time where you have to be home at, if he ever let's you go out the door.
Why can't you just stay at home where it is safe, why must you yearn for the outside, Gepard swore an oath to his late wife, he would let no harm ever befall you, and he intends to keep that promise.
"I have already told you, you must not leave, the world is full of dangers"
Jing Yuan: He had never felt so sad as when his wife died, but he never blamed you for her death. He's scared that you will die as well, so you get homeschooled by him and you never leave home, the only outside contact is Yanqing.
Jing Yuan gives you anything you want, and lets you eat whatever you desire. He also plants the idea that the outside world is scary, that everyone will take advantage of you, so isn't it easier to just stay home and let him spoil you.
"I can't let what happened to her happen to you, please understand"
Luocha: He can't really lock you up since he is traveling, so you just have to bear traveling with your father. He will hide you whenever someone appears and shield your eyes during battles, he even heals you even though nothing has even touched you, just for his peace of mind.
Luocha will make sure that you like him, letting you do and get anything you want. In the future when you're all grown up and ready to leave him and start your own life, he will use the fact that he has always treated you so nicely, to guilt trip you. He treated you like a princess, won't you stay a couple more years with him.
"Your dear dad will feel so lonely if you leave, wont you please just stay with me"

In Black Silk
Blade/Reader NSFW
Minors DO NOT interact
MASTERLIST
Living with the Stellaron hunters isn't such a bad life, even if one of them basically refuses to speak to you. After a trip to the Luofu has you bringing home a new set of silky lingerie, you find yourself in a promiscuous situation with mister tall, dark, and sexy. How were you supposed to know Blade liked silk?
Night time was a little hard to determine when you basically lived in space. It was an endless expanse of possible adventures hidden in each star you could see. Terrifying, exciting, and beautiful. The mystery was the best part of living with the Stellaron Hunters. Sure their motives were questionable, but you believed in Elio’s plan. It led to a path of new adventures while shaping the future for the universe. Not to mention how fond you had grown of the company.
You smiled at yourself in the mirror, stretching and yawning while adjusting the cute outfit you wore for tonight. It was a new pair of lingerie, made of silk straight from the Loufu. A rare find and expensive, but you loved it. Comfy and lovely all in one while not being overly revealing, it hugged your body in a way that made you more confident than you’d been in a while.
The moment was short-lived, however, when you heard something next door fall and shatter, a loud gasp followed it like someone was scared or in trouble. You didn’t waste a second, throwing on the thin silk robe that came with the little outfit as you ran out of your room, staring at the door next to you where you swore the noise came from. Blade’s room.
Your heart felt like there was a vice grip on it, your stomach twisting into knots. Blade was dangerous, to say the least. He seemed to hate when people approached him, quick to draw his weapon, never one for conversation and…he was dashingly mysterious and beautiful. It seemed that only Kafka really knew what was going on in his mind and life, he kept away from everyone else. Yet, you still found yourself intrigued by him.
Slowly, you stepped up to the door, resting your ear to it in hopes that maybe he was okay and you didn’t have to intrude on him. Because if you were wrong, there was probably a high chance your head would not be connected to your shoulders once you opened the door. But you heard another gasp for breath accompanied by a groan of pain, and your worry skyrocketed.
You opened the door slowly, inching your way into the dark room and shutting the door behind you, looking around despite barely any light.
“Blade?” You kept your voice low, worried that this was a mistake and this would only serve to anger the dangerous man. You heard another groan and walked forward into the darkness, following the sound.
“Blade, are you alright?”
One moment you’re standing upright, the next you feel yourself falling, your foot colliding with something on the ground, your body losing its balance. Your hands shot out to catch yourself and your face planted into something stiff and hard and breathing.
Everything happened so fast, no time to catch your bearings before you felt a hand pull you up and the sting of something sharp pressed against your throat. You whimpered in fear, your hands moving up in a form of surrender despite the darkness making it basically impossible to see anything.
Then the lights were on, and you blinked to stop the blurring from the change of lighting. Blade had his hand on your shoulder, keeping you still, his other brandishing a large black sword marbled with gold against your throat. His eyes were void of emotion and life, glaring into your own which were most likely filled with fear and worry.
“What do you want?” Similar to his eyes, his words were bland and emotionless, like he was a robot pretending to be a human. His eyes narrowed again, pulling you from your curious mind.
“I–I heard noises…I thought you were in trouble?”
“Hmph.” He pulled the weapon away, still glaring at you as if you were a nuisance in his life.
A sigh of relief left your mouth as you relaxed a bit, taking the time to quickly look around you. His room was fairly clean, aside from some shattered glass on the floor from what seemed to have been some fancy pot that didn’t really belong. Probably a gift from Kafka, she enjoyed giving things to the rest of the crew that didn’t really make sense. You looked back at Blade, he was sitting up still, looking down on you with little emotion. Only now did you realize how…close you were to him.
A quick glance down told you why. You were basically riding him, completely in his lap, your legs straddling him. Your heartbeat raced, a warmth spreading from your face to the rest of your body.
“I…” No words could leave your mouth, your eyes looked back up at him. Blade simply looked down to where you were staring then back up at you, his emotion not changing, he simply raised one eyebrow.
“I’m sorry, I’ll leave you to–”
His hand moved up to touch the silk of your thin robe, the only thing keeping your lingerie from being on full display.
“You bought this from the Loufu.” He didn’t need to ask, his eyes now examining your entire outfit. Blade moved the robe to the side, looking at the lingerie itself, eyes slowly drinking in every detail of the skillfully crafted outfit. “A useless thing to buy.”
“It’s not useless!” The words were out before you could stop yourself and you found his eyes staring sharply at you, his hand still holding the robe open.
“How is this useful?” Blade scoffed at you.
“It makes me feel good about myself.” You straightened your back with pride, lifting your head up to look as confident as the lingerie made you feel. “It makes me feel attractive.”
“Hmm…” Blade looks back down at the outfit then slowly slides his gaze back up, his hand releasing the robe and moving to touch the lingerie itself, fingers sliding down the sides of your chest. “It’s all expensive silk.”
You could see his breath hitch as he touched it, his eyes now focused on the outfit—your body—entirely.
“Yes, it was very expensive.” Your voice filled with pride, despite the heat that swarmed your body from his fingers being so gentle, gliding so close to your bare skin.
“It’s made with an ancient technique. Rare material from…” Blade shut his eyes then, his jaw tightening as he grunted in pain. Slowly he laid down, his hands sliding away from your body as he pressed his palm into his temples. Your eyes went wide seeing him in pain, you leaned down to look closer at him, eyebrows strewn with worry.
“What’s wrong? Are you–”
A loud squeak left your mouth when you felt his hands squeeze your thighs. He looked in pain, the grabbing was probably just a reaction to how bad it was but it made your stomach flip and you could feel a throbbing heat between your thighs from all the touching.
“The more I remember the worse the affliction is,” Blade murmurs mostly to himself, his thumbs now rubbing circles into your skin. You could see his breathing get heavier, his eyes still shut tight. “Your skin…is like silk.”
His deep red eyes open slowly, his hair a messy halo upon his small bed. You could now see a bit of a flush upon his cheeks while he looked up at you, still straddling his lap. You feel a growing hardness beneath you, rubbing between your legs, Blade’s hands pulling you down against him as he groans out a breathy moan. You gasp out in unison, your mind flooding with a mixture of questions and desires.
“What was that–” His eyes catch your own, stopping you from saying anything else. They weren’t desperate or full of lust, they were commanding and stern, maybe even a bit of blood lust and hate hidden beneath the calm, but they spoke volumes.
Once more he pulled you down against his clothed cock, now straining against his pants that seemed a little too tight for comfort. He was guiding you, almost encouraging you to move. Another suppressed groan seethed from between his teeth, his chest rising and falling quickly. And once more you moaned out, the noise a little high pitched from the way his straining cock rubbed against your barely clothed cunt.
“Will this help me forget?” Blade seemed to be talking to himself, now rolling his own hips upward, moaning out loud this time, his breathing coming out as soft panting. “Yes…yes this will do.”
“Blade?”
He ignored you, his hands moving up your thighs, fingers dancing over the lingerie, surprisingly gentle despite the course calluses that decorated his palms. He kept moving them up your body until they slipped beneath the thin robe, pulling it back, urging you to help him take it off. It was hypnotizing to say the least, you were entranced by his eyes, by the way he touched you. There was no need to think this through, you knew you wanted this. Guided by his hands, you helped him slide the robe off, discarding it to the floor. You moved your hands to begin undoing the lingerie when he gripped your wrists and pulled them away,
“No. You will keep it on.” You stared down at him with wide eyes when he guided your hands down and moved his palms to rest onto your chest, the thin material feeling smooth against your now perked nipples, a shiver sliding up your spine.
Blade hummed to himself, looking you over as if you were something to examine carefully for hidden details. His fingers slid down your breasts, gliding against your chest and stomach until they were holding your hips again, his thumbs hooked beneath the thin panties of your lingerie.
“Hmm.” His eyes found your own before flicking down towards his pants then back to you, commanding you without a single word. And it worked, your fingers reached down and undid his pants. You lifted up slightly to pull them down, your mouth nearly drooling from the sight of his cock straining against his thin boxers.
He cocked his head to the side, using one of his thumbs to move your underwear to the side, his index finger sliding between your lips without a single thought.
“Wet,” he murmured, observing each moan and twitch that came from your body, switching between rolling your clit with his finger to slowly pushing two large fingers inside of you, moving slowly to stretch you out. “Good. Good.”
You were caught up in the feeling of his fingers, your body moving against them and your mouth open to let the small moans out, you didn’t notice him use his free hand to pull his boxers down, letting his cock spring free. That was until he was pulling his fingers from you and guiding you down. You felt the head poke at your entrance and squealed loudly as he pulled you down slowly, guiding himself into you.
Blade threw his head back, a loud guttural moan leaving his throat when he sheathed himself inside of you, the tightness of your body squeezing his large, soft cock. Fingers dug into your thighs near your ass, his breath ragged. This was the most emotion you had seen from him and it was lovely.
“Move.” The words came from him as a growl, like he was trying to keep himself under control. If he was trying to stop himself from going crazy or from making any needy noises, you didn’t know. But you did hear his command, and you followed.
Slowly, you lifted yourself up before plopping back down, finding a steady rhythm of bouncing up and down upon his cock and rolling your hips to grind against him. Blade was having difficulty keeping himself under control, his eyes shut tight as he met your bounding with little thrusts of his own. Your moans were a combined melody, both of you loud in your need. However, where his moans were deep and almost like animalistic growls, yours were high pitched whimpers.
“Mmm, pathetic,” he groaned out, thrusting up harshly to make you squeal again. He chuckled darkly at that, his fingers digging into your thighs. There would definitely be bruises there tomorrow. “Pathetic. Weak. Ha–” A long moan fell from his lips as you lifted yourself fully off of him and dropped down with a loud and wet bounce. He met the move with a harsh thrust, causing you to make a louder gasp as well. It was as if the two of you were fighting over who could make the other moan the loudest. So far it seemed like you were winning as you rolled your hips with mischievous smirks and reached up to play with his nipples while bouncing up and down on him. He was so sensitive everywhere.
“Mmm yes…good…good,” he helped you bounce on him, using his grip on your thighs to help lift you and pull you down. Then he held you in place, rolling his hips deeply into you, finding that sweet little spot inside of you that made your body quiver for a moment.
“Oh, Blade, right there!” Your voice was wanton as he kept hitting that spot, a smirk on his face while he panted like a dog, fucking up into you with desperation. His fingers reached up to grab your shoulders, pushing you back a bit so he could stare at your body, still snug in that silky lingerie.
“Mmm, yes…good, all mine.” He gasped loudly then, his eyes transfixed on your body, the hand that was on your shoulder now gripping your throat, his thrusts speeding up. No longer were you controlling the pace, now you bounced on him from his own force. “You’re going to cum for me.”
The statement made you shiver completely, your legs beginning to tremble while he destroyed your body with his cock. His hand tightened a bit around your throat, cutting off your air for a moment.
“Go on. Cum. Now.” With each word he spoke with conviction, he added a powerful, sharp and calculated thrust paired with another squeeze of your throat. Your body obeyed his command, your entire being filled with pure warmth and flooding with desire. You couldn’t hear the noises you made, but you knew them to be loud as you came down to see Blade closing his eyes and moaning with equal fervor, another sort of warmth entering your body as he gasped and writhed, his hands once more on your thighs, keeping you planted upon his cock.
“Yes…good…good.” His breathing steadied out, head still back as you felt his body relax slowly.
You panted while sitting on him, leaning forward, the only thing keeping you from collapsing was his hands holding you up barely. His thumbs rubbed slow circles into your skin, a small hum of satisfaction leaving his mouth. Blade eyed you slowly, looking down to where your bodies were still joined. You swore you saw a flash of a dark smile on his face before he lifted you off of him and moved your panties back into place.
He pushed himself to sit up, now gripping your chin while he examined you.
“You will come back tomorrow night, wear the silk.” Then he patted your cheek and sent you on your way, laying back down and staring up at the ceiling, much more relaxed than before.
