Gay:

Crewel, Sam, and Chen'ya have only ever kissed boys and never considered anyone else.

Jade is gay and autistic af

Jack is freshly out of the closet because he never realized that being uncomfortable with a girl being "the one and only" was uncommon.

Idia is... well. a flaming homosexual

Bi:

Trein is a wifeguy through and through, but this man had a youth at some point.

Vargas - dating Crewel. source: just trust me bro

Trey has dated a LOT of people during his time in school. He is kissing Vil rn btw

bob - bisexual and cisgender-ish but also he's had this interaction with louise at least once

linda - she's a supportive cishet ally but she's had Lesbian experiences in her youth so who could say. she also dated gay men in high school to help them stay closeted so she's an unofficial member of the lgbtq community <3 she's like dolly parton yknow

gene - genderfluid and pansexual maybe?? or gay? I don't have a lot of thoughts on his sexuality tbh

darryl - he's cishet </3 but his lovely girlfriend is bisexual so he's that type of guy who would be at pride anyway (does not clarify who his girlfriend is. doesnt matter)

teddy - bisexual and asexual bcuz @koko-raccoon helped me see the vision. he does not know asexuality is a thing. could see him as transmasc too for sure. also polyamorous but in a casual way its not something he'd actively seek out but he wouldn't mind being in a relationship with multiple people either (same w/ bob and linda) he's got such a big heart

mort - he's never labelled himself but i think he wouldn't question it if he was in a relationship with a guy or found himself attracted to one. he's easy. maybe he'd just label himself as queer

mr frond - probably transfem and definitely bisexual. also asexual i think

Relationship Dynamics between the blorbos:

Aaron and Peter: Childhood best friends, often as children when Aaron pre-transition, he and Peter were often mistaken for liking each other which made a closeted aroace Aaron very uncomfortable which Peter always made sure to tell the other kids off for saying stuff like that. ( Couldn’t let the other kids know his ass was bi and had a crush on Harry ) Peter often found himself protecting Aaron as a child and about halfway through middle school just after Aaron came out as trans. But their roles flip flopped when Aaron started to gain his confidence and became Peter’s protector from big bullies like Flash Thompson and Harry Osborn. This got even more apparent when Aaron was bitten by a radioactive spider and became one of the biggest guys at school… people stopped messing with nerdy Peter Parker when his Clark Kent looking ass best friend was around. Peter, wanting to pay Aaron back in some way ( like he does with anything for anyone poor people tingz ) helped engineer his suit and became his “guy in the chair!” As the comic book loving Aaron put it, whichh Peter said sounded stupid. Peter is a shy sweet looking kid but once you get to know him he’s a bit of an ass, but in a funny friend way. Aaron on the other hand is a quiet gentle giant who jokes around with Peter the most. ( Also to add on some silly things about them: Aaron is way more massive partly because of a mix of genes and radioactive spider-ness mixing with his testosterone and making him huge. On a funnier note though when Peter walked in on Aaron injecting himself with man juice bro PASSED OUT. He is scared of like everything, needles, spiders, the ocean, heights. Speaking of his fear of heights. Aaron has definitely tried to exposure therapy him with swinging which made it worse and Aaron feels really bad and Peter will never let go of this grudge HAJJSJSS )

Peter and Harry: Oh boy. This is a sad one. Peter and Harry were the first people to make friends with Aaron and Harry was Peter’s first crush. As a child Peter was gifted and excelled in school, and when visiting Harry’s home Norman did the classic favoring everyone else over his own child, including Aaron who also was a “gifted kid”. However Harry did very poorly at school. ( all three of them are autistic just on vastly different levels on the spectrum, Aaron is sensory seeking and was gifted as a child but evened out as he got older, Peter gets overstimulated easily and has always done very well with remembering things and school, and Harry’s sensory issues lie in between the other two and he has always struggled in school. ) Andd because of this Harry began to resent his friends, especially Peter although Peter only wanted to be closer with Harry because of his crush which the two unintentionally left Aaron at the wayside for a bit. Around the time Aaron came our, Harry grew distant from the two and started to join Flash Thompson and that crowd of kids. Aaron wasn’t exactly a factor to Harry, as since he came out the one time he visited Norman he had lowkey transphobic vibes so Harry really only held resentment to Peter. At one point Harry even tried convincing Aaron to stay his friend and ditch Peter but he got chewed out. Peter had massive heartbreak after this and only began to move on in high school when he got a crush on Gwen Stacy. Harry however grew angry towards Aaron for constantly protecting Peter and still basically tries to one up Peter on everything and takes his anger out on the poor guy whenever Aaron isn’t around, which has become more frequent because of Spidey stuff.

Aaron and Harry: Kind of went over some of it above but they’ve always kinda been not very close. Aaron felt more upset about Harry betraying Peter than he did about Harry also betraying him. Harry on the other hand has always felt closer to Aaron than Aaron has to him which is why he attempted to get Aaron to ditch Pete but Aaron was like dude no. Ever since being bitten by the spider though, Harry has been incredibly jealous of Aaron’s strength and wishes he could have something like that to win his father’s approval. Also Aaron is kinda pissed at Harry all the time because Harry hates Spider-Man for fucking with Oscorp’s shady shit which makes Norman a scary father at home- so honestly I feel bad for Harry but also Aaron doesn’t know that and is rightfully angry as well…

Gwen and Peter: Gwen and Peter became friends in high school when Peter saw her and was like “OH SHIT SHES BEAUTIFUL” and Aaron went up and convinced her to sit at lunch with them. Aroace wingman is my favorite trope your honor. Peter can still remain normal friends with her but finds himself chickening out hanging out with her due to his self esteem issues. Gwen on the other hand thinks Pete is a pretty cool dude and admires his knowledge with electronics and engineering, Gwen is much more of a chemistry interested aspiring scientist but she and Pete still talk nerd shit!!! Gwen and Peter start getting real close and Aaron is even like “omg?? Go Peter! Sorry MJ-“ at one point but then Gwen’s father dies. Peter still has his flaws and after her dad’s funeral kinda unintentionally ghosts her because he doesn’t know how to help and doesn’t think he’s good enough which just leaves Gwen with MJ and Aaron who try their best but can’t stop Gwen’s descent into her obsession with finding Spider-Man and eventually Gwen starts hanging around Harry Osborn at school and starts dating him for a time when he gives her validation about hating Spider-Man. Peter is pretty devastated and kinda gets a reality check from MJ and tries reaching out more and more, until… the confrontation happens and beyond that is spoilers sorta. Kinda already spoiled Captain Stacy’s death already but it’s a Spidey story, what else would happen to the guy??

Gwen and Aaron: Gwen and Aaron quickly become the two jokesters of the friendgroup, they aren’t as close and brotherly as Aaron and Pete are but Gwen and Aaron work off each other really well. They aren’t the type of duo to get very serious about things, which is why Aaron has a difficult time comforting Gwen after the Captain Stacy thing happens. And Aaron only feels more guilty knowing it’s HIS fault Stacy died and made Gwen this grief-stricken, and then he’s even more guilty for not being good at comforting her which is really sad. And it kind of demoralizes Aaron during this period and also puts him on edge to not reveal his identity even more, knowing how Gwen would react…

Gwen and Harry: Toxic people who project hatred who get together only out of shared hatred which is totally a red flag. But Gwen even gets to much for Harry at a certain point and makes him introspective on his hate against Aaron and Peter. However Gwen.. well I’ll let you guys know later heheh…

MJ and Gwen: MJ and Gwen have been friends since childhood and MJ has had a crush on Gwen her whole life. And unfortunately the two don’t have the healthiest friendship. Gwen often does impulsive things and gets enabled by MJ who wouldn’t tell her any different. Which usually isn’t too much of a problem until you friend becomes crazy obsessed and your way of comforting is like “I’ll help you catch Spider-Man-“ and then realizing that you probably made things 10x worse because YOU know Aaron is Spider-Man and you know Pete knows but they don’t know you know and now you have to lie to the girl you’ve loved since you were FIVE. MJ has gotten herself into a bit of a pickle and after joining Gwen for a while, she finally gets the guts to help out Aaron and Peter to try and give Gwen a wake up call, but whether she does or not? Who knows…

MJ and Aaron: MJ met Aaron after following Gwen like a lost puppy to their lunch table and finding him and Pete to be pretty funny. Aaron and MJ don’t really talk much at first but after MJ is sad alone while Gwen and Pete are having alone time together Aaron cheers her up and let’s her infodump and MJ has a blast and is returned to her cheeky former self and develops of a friendly rivalry with Pete! Aaron wingmans them both but is secretly rooting for MJ more because the chilldhood best friend thing yknow?? Although Aaron would never tell Pete that. Where as Gwen’s humor is very dry and ironic with Aaron, Aaron and MJ are the two that do dumb shit together and tease each other. Gwen may have been the impulsive one in their childhood but now MJ is much more likely to be the one to ride a rollercoaster ahe knows she’s gonna puke on. Which kinda developed naturally after having other friends than Gwen, and while Gwen is being obsessive with catching Spider-Man, MJ starts to realize the flaws in their relationship and vows to help Gwen and then fix those flaws.

MJ and Peter: As stated before, they were kinda distant before but eventually developed a friendly rivalry along the lines of “as long as Gwen is happy? We both win!” And their dynamic is super adorable. They make jabs at eachother and MJ is at her most snarkiest with him. They’re almost like brother and sister and frequently try to one up each other on extravagant outings with Gwen until they both realize they are broke and live in Minneapolis. L. After Captain Stacy dies, their relationship is strained but when MJ comes back to Pete and Aaron, she and Peter promise to each other to always be there for Gwen and make sure she doesn’t go down the wrong path.

That is it for the main four + Harry. Will write up some dynamics with Aaron’s family dynamic, Peter’s family dynamic, MJ’s family dynamic, and all the family dynamics soon. Also Spider-Man’s dynamic with villains and allies because that’s fun too!!!

So buckle down for this.

Kwazii is trans (ftm), omnisexual (male pref) and catgender ! Also I hc he’s on the aroace spectrum as well (still can have attraction just rare basically). Since me too. And I kin this mf so. Self projection. Anyways goes by he/they/paw pronouns !

You’re gonna look at him and tell me he doesn’t have ADHD and dyslexia? /lh

I wanna say he’s like 5”5 and comes to shoulder height with Shellington and chest height with Barnacles.

Eye stuff:

He has heterochromea! The eye that’s always showing is a yellow and the one that’s covered up is a green :)

He has light sensitivity and sensory issues to his right eye (one that’s always covered) so he just keeps it covered and only takes it off when needed.

OH BUT ALSO. He sees this as somewhat of an advantage because in dark areas he’s able to see very well with that one eye and it doesn’t really hurt ! Actual pirates would wear eyepatches so they could see better at night so I hc he does this too (I stole this from my friend Miles, hi Miles if you’re seeing this)

Also cats cannot see very well. Like. At all. So I feel like he’d wear glasses or contacts.

I think he’s a medium fur haired cat. I don’t really think he’s a shorthair.

He is a tabby cat :)))

Broken humor.

He has insomnia and that’s why he falls asleep midst in missions so easily. Also he cannonically wakes up in the middle of the night to go do his thing while everyone’s sleeping. Like he sneaks out.

He smells like an ashy campfire with salt. Yeah.

I like to think his room smells like mint because mint scents actually help ward off spiders. Fun fact.

His uniform! I always draw him wearing an oversized one with the sleeves rolled up and there’s a reason for this and part of it is me self reflecting: he has sensory issues to tight fitting clothing, so he got a big shirt and he rolls up the sleeves just cause I feel like that fits him. Same goes for his pants.

He’s lost so much feeling in his tail. That tail has been smashed, stung, bitten, pulled, etc so many times. He’s just. Lost so much feeling in it.

Much like the barnacles headcannon: has a lot of scars but fur covers over a lot of it. Slightly different texture in areas though.

I like to think that the huge closet he has is also his de-stimulation room/area for when having overstimulation :)

He stims a lot. Like. A lot. Both verbal and physical.

Him and Tweak are best friends.

And Ik I said this in Barnacles one but him and Barnacles have a very much found brother relationship and have a little support system for mental health.

Actually has pretty low self esteem/confidence. He’s just loud. He reminds me of a very specific scene in LMK where wukong and MK are talking and Wukong goes “you need confidence” and MK just defends himself like “WHAT IVE GOT PLENTY CONFIDENCE!” And Wukong just goes “no you’re just loud.” And then MK just looks personally attacked and Wukong is trying to give him advice on how to get it and MK just replies with “fake it till I make it?” And Wukong just yells at him.

Anyways Kwazii reminds me of that scene in MK’s POV I don’t even know if that made sense but yeah.

So yk how earlier I talked abt eyes, ok so not exactly a Kwazii one but I like to think that the reason all the pirate stories are over exaggerated or close but off is cause once again: cats can’t see well. And all the pirates we’ve seen/have been referred to have been cats.

Is both a positive influence. And a chaotic one.

Mans would end up in the sick bay at like 4 AM.

They give me the vibes of someone who survives off of 2 hours of sleep, caffeine and pure chaos and the second he sits down he can and will crash.

Has really bad abandonment issues. Uh. Yeah.

Rejection dysphoria and anxiety. Cause me too.

Ok listen a lot of these are just me self projecting.

And now that I’m here I’m thinking I wanna add more to the barnacles one so. There should be more there if you guys wanna go see that. Yeah

He’s probably used very pirate-y terms to describe people and NO ONE on the crew know what he’s talking about so he has to translate. Like he’d say somethin like “He’s a Scrooge of the seven seas!” And the crew just looks confused and he just goes “he’s really violent.”

Speaking of pirate terms- I like to think he’s called inkling the quartermaster and Barnacles a coxswain :)

Very picky about how he looks so he is mildly aversive to cuddling with his jacket on. Loves gently holding u in the auditorium locker room when the jacket is off.

when I started shipping it if I did: I don't maybe three months ago when you brought it up in the Aang Server ajdfaskjfsalfs

my thoughts: I LOVE THEM. I had never thought about them until you mentioned it, but the second you shared your thoughts, I was like "I can *see* it!" And now this pairing is in my top for three for both of these characters (mostly because I just think Mai is the second most shippable character, after Aang). It's so unexpected, but I honestly think they would vibe, and

What makes me happy about them: I love to think Mai would find Sokka annoying at first, but his sense of humor, being either really dumb or at his own expense, would end up growing on her, and he would become one of the people that can actually make her laugh (other than Aang ofc!). I also have a headcanon that they are both foodies and would bond over that! Finally, their characters lend to some interesting post-canon concepts when it comes to their roles as politicians/leaders of their respective nation/tribe, Mai's status as Zuko's ex mixed with Sokka's status as one of Zuko's friends, the absolute POWER COUPLE they would be as two nonbending weapons specialists with Sokka being more melee specialized and Mai being more ranged. Just...so much potential!

What makes me sad about them: Realistically, I don't see a relationship working very long-term for them because I always imagined Sokka would want to stay in the South Pole or, at the very least, *really close* to the South Pole, but Mai would not be a fan of the cold. I almost always imagine them eventually breaking up (sad!) OR imagine them in some kind of AU. This is not to say the right kind of narrative finagling can't give them their happy ending; I just haven't played around with it a lot.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: There is not a whole lot of Maikka fanfic out there, and I honestly worked through pretty much the whole tag a couple months ago. My biggest grievance with Maikka fanfic is that most of the fics out there seem pretty shallow right now (short, modern au one shots where the characters have been flattened) or the writer has Mai just like...bullying Sokka...constantly, and not even in the fun, flirty way. Just in the..."you have convinced me they don't even like each other" kind of way. With their common interests but potential to meet any variety of relationship roadblocks, I just want something a little *more* for them, ya know!

things I look for in fanfic: Oop I already answered sorta above, but I love when Maikka fanfic has them confront the issues of their separate roles in their cultures/societies, their shared histories with Zuko, but also plays into their shared interests and compatible personalities. Just let them like each other, but also let them struggle to overcome challenges of circumstance!! It's more fun that way!

Who I’d be comfortable with them ending up with, if not each other: For Mai, either Zuko, Ty Lee, or Aang. For Sokka, either Suki, Aang, or Toph (this is where I out myself as a closet Tokka shipper >.<).

My happily ever after for them: One of the ways I imagine them getting a happily ever after is like...maybe if one of them has a more permanent ambassador position in either location or perhaps an au where they both end up in the same city in a university system as like professors or consultants. Or any number of modern aus have potential. I could be convinced of married Maikka with kids because I think Sokka is actually very family oriented and Mai would be a good mother, but I imagine they would have kids much later than their friends.

who is the big spoon/little spoon: We recently talked about "very tall water sibs" in the server, and now I love it, so I picture a very tall Sokka and a still pretty tall Mai (like Sokka's 6' to Mai's 5'11"), and I think they would mix it up and take turns being the different spoons OR they would be that couple that cuddles face to face, limbs all tangled.

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: EATING or practicing weapons. I love the idea of Sokka teaching Mai to sword fight and Mai teaching Sokka how to throw daggers. I imagine it's something they could both nerd out about.

Rayllum

when I started shipping it if I did: When I first watched the show! I was hoping they would get together and THEY DID, and I was very glad to see it.

my thoughts: They just got that best friends to lovers, mutual respect, learning and growing together, accommodating for each other's strengths and weaknesses goodness! I just them!

What makes me happy about them: I love that Rayla introduced Callum to a whole world full of magic, where he could really thrive with his talents! And I love that Callum believes in Rayla and knows her to be capable and brave and never lets her forget it! They just emulate the kind of relationship I would want with a partner!

What makes me sad about them: Can't think of much right now, but I suppose the xenphobia they have to deal with from their people on both sides. It must be so hard to grow a relationship with that kind of animosity coming from the people they love!

things done in fanfic that annoys me: I have not read much Rayllum fanfic (other than yours!), so I don't have an answer for this really. Stay tuned because I plan on reading more fic for them this summer!

things I look for in fanfic: I want them to deal with the challenges they face in that mature, emotionally intelligent way they always have! I just love when they team up to overcome the odds because they do make such a great team and respect each other's skills and ideas so much! Give me badass duo Rayllum any day!

Who I’d be comfortable with them ending up with, if not each other: Um...honestly I don't think there are many age appropriate characters that have been developed enough for me to have an opinion. I know I don't like Claudia with Callum. Maybe Soren with Callum? I get straight vibes off Soren, though...Oooooh maybe after they have grown up, I could get behind some Callum x Aanya? Just for fun. And I think Rayla would be happiest with another elf, if not with Callum OR I do like an aroace Rayla headcanon, so maybe even no one, and she has a plethora of queer platonic relationships with the whole gang!

My happily ever after for them: Callum moves to Xadia to grow his skills as a mage, and he and Rayla live happily ever after living and learning together and using their skills to help people! I love the idea of Callum finding a home with the Moonshadow Elf community.

who is the big spoon/little spoon: Rayla is the big spoon, no I do not take criticism.

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: Maybe a niche headcanon, but I love the idea of them really getting into their universe's equivalent of chess (I don't remember if they have one in canon, but if not, I headcanon there is a chess-like game). I think Rayla would get really competitive about it, and Callum would approach it very methodically.
