-His phone is either pristine condition, like new 24/7 or a cracked monstrosity that barely can turn on. There's so in between; fight me on this.

-if you are Mexican and at one of your family's parties, he gobbles anything in his sight, he doesn't have much spice tolerance but he'd drown himself in salchichas a la diabla or would add too much sauce to his tacos al pastor. Literally; keep soda or Agua de jamaica READY for when he gets spiced. (He'd act like he isn't and would try to drink his drinks casually, as if his tongue weren't on fire.)
-He makes playlists for you, with songs he knows you'd like and would smile to himself if you hum the tune, he'd recognize the song and would play it in the car or something.
-Miles occasionally takes your phone and uploads himself on your Instagram story just as a 'reminder' to the guys that follow you on there.
-He is an amazing kisser, you can't prove me wrong istg.
-Miles will keep him being the prowler away from you completely, wouldn't even go with you once he was done as prowler just in case.
-He has so much respect for you, him having a single working mother and all? he is so respectful of woman.
-He can unhook a bra w one hand.
-Makes hickeys on your lower neck, stomach, thighs a lil on chest. (He's a lil mindful at the fact that you may not want visible hickeys everywhere so when he does any on your chest he does it where its at least covered by a bra.. sometimes.)
-He barely has a small idea of how periods work but barely, he knows to at least keep his mouth shut and to give chocolates. (And to decline some of your advances 'cause nobody is risking having kids.)

Bro omfg Betty and Simon are so fucking cute episode 8 was everything for that ship it was so nice to finally see their relationship because in the main series we only got dialogue about it but nothing shown
The callback to meeting in the library and touching the same book and Simon letting Betty taking them Betty leaving a note in it because she knew Simon would be the first to take it and learning BETTY WAS IN THE CAR when Simon found the enchiridion (which was a callback to the newspaper clipping Marcy picked up in “I remember you”
OMG THEY WERE SO CUTE the way they went on the jungle adventure together and were so dorky AND CHEERS BEING THEIR THING
What destroyed me was that line in the song “it ain’t called love without a little tragedy” EXPLANATION OF THEIR WHOLE RELATIONSHIP knowing that they were soulmate they loved other greatly were going to get married but then Simon found the crown the mushroom war bombs destroyed the world then Simon goes insane is free and uses his daughter’s plushie to get Betty back 1000 years later but is cursed again so Betty gets cursed to save Simon (which means in them both suffering from the immortality= sadness and madness curse as well) and worked so hard but fails so she makes a deal with the most powerful god to save him but has to sacrifice herself but she does anyways because she loves him AND IDBSKMAJDJWVAJBBDJS THEY GOT BE IN A CHOKEHOLD RIGHT NOW

Got tagged by @skinnedcorpse to share 10 songs I’ve been listening to recently! So uhh here are some of mine. :)
Geneva Jacuzzi — Cannibal Babies. Omfg I saw Geneva Jacuzzi perform last night and she was INCREDIBLE. Genuinely like absolutely mindblowing, one of my favorite live shows I’ve seen in a bit. This song in particular has been really sticking out for me.
HEALTH — L.A. Looks. Been on a little bit of a HEALTH kick and this song in particular just fucks so hard. It’s so euphoric and bright. Also I love living in LA.
ACTORS — In Real Life. One of my favorite darkwave bands put out a new single!! I’ve been really hype for new music from them and this track is really good. Been listening to it a bunch.
Clan of Xymox — Louise. I’m about to throw some real classic obvious stuff at y’all cuz I’ve been spending some time with some old faves recently. Been having a Xymox moment. They’re so good.
Siouxsie and the Banshees — Monitor. Man the other day I just threw on Juju for the first time in a bit and was like damn. I can’t believe she did all that. 1981 dropping like legendary iconic classic after classic back to back like that. It’s a cold take I know but god I love this song.
New Order — Age of Consent. This song came on at the club for the first time in ages recently and it went offffffff it was so nice to hear it.
Virgin Prunes — Bau-Dachöng. Sorry for being goth. Was reminded of this album awhile back so I’ve been revisiting it a bunch. I swear it was before St Patrick’s Day I’m not one of those guys I promise.
Male Tears — Creep Distance. This album just screams summertime for me, especially summer 2022 for me. As the weather clears up a little here and the sun is finally coming out I’ve been super nostalgic. Sounds like rum and cherry cola with lime.
Choir Boy — Two Lips. Polar opposite of Male Tears, Choir Boy just screams the nostalgia of cold winter nights, especially their first album.
Beborn Beton — Another World. Goth club staple from the past couple of decades, I’ve heard it in clubs for YEARS but never actually went out of my way to look it up and listen to it recreationally and damn. It goes off actually.

After the encounter with your ex, Ellie, you try your best to avoid anything to do with her. But with your luck...
You hum along to the song playing through your speaker as you scroll instagram. You've basically put yourself in house arrest other than going to work ever since seeing Ellie. You couldn't trust yourself not to get into a situation where you needed saving again.
Your breath hitches when you see Dina's post. It's her and Ellie sitting on Ellie's couch with cards against humanity spread out on her coffee table. JJ, Dina's son, is sleeping in Ellie's arm. You study the way Ellie's eyes squint as she smiles at the camera. The caption says, "mommy material"
"Fucking mommy material? She isn't even girlfriend material." (I love salty y/n) you grumble and like the picture before turning your phone off. Maybe it's time to finally go out again.. You didn't have work tomorrow..
About a half an hour later, your looking at your ass in the mirror. Making sure that your black dress covers enough but not too much, maybe you'll even meet someone tonight. You've decided on going to a new bar tonight, their website says they have musicians that come in on Fridays so it'll be a chill place to relax.
You pick up your bag and lace your new converse before leaving your apartment.
Your sitting on one of the leather couches that face the stage drinking a (drink of choice) when you hear a familiar voice saying hi to the bartender. You turn you head around and see the one and only Dina!! She must of felt your eyes on her because she turn her head and her eyes immediately lit up. "Y/n!!! Baby!"
You smile as she runs over and sits next to you, giving you a side hug. "I haven't seen you in fucking forever! How are you?"
After you and Ellie broke up, you stopped hanging out with a lot of your friends too. It was too awkward for you. But they never stopped caring about you, it was hard for you to come to terms with that.
"I'm okay! I've just been working a lot recently.. I haven't had a chance to check this place out yet." Dina nods and rests her head on your shoulder. "It's really nice here. I come here every Friday to see-" she stops mid sentence and slowly turns her head up to look at you with wide eyes. You hear someone else on the stage setting up but you keep your eyes on Dina's thinking face.
You tilt your head as she puts her hand over her mouth, "wait.. do you know that-"
She's cut off by another familiar sound. The song Ellie wrote for you on your one year anniversary, you guys stayed up all night writing lyrics for it. You whip your head back to the stage and your face drops, "oh my fucking god."
Dina starts to laugh uncomfortably st the situation, "um- we can leave and I can take you to another really good place, they have burgers! Ellie will understand if I leave-"
You can barely hear what Dina's saying. It's just you and Ellie now. The song you've heard so many times and Ellie's soft voice coming through the speakers, you might even be singing the song quietly too. She opens her eyes and immediately meets yours. You hear her voice falter but she keeps eye contact as she sings.
Ellie goes back stage after a few more songs and you are finally snapped back into reality. In reality, you're sobbing. Dina's rubbing your back comfortingly and is holding your head as you lean it against her shoulder.
You look up at her and take a deep breath, "I should get out of here- I'm sorry Dina. It was nice seeing you." She let's you go but holds your wrist so you turn back to her. She sighs, "let's not be strangers anymore, mkay? I want you to meet JJ." You smile sadly at her and nod, "yeah, um.. text me?"
She smiles and let's you go as you try to RACE OUTTA THERE!! YOU GOTTA GO BEFORE ELLIE COMES OUT!!
You're out the door and halfway to your car before you hear your name being called. Fuck. "Y/n! Can we talk please, I hate the way I reacted-"
You turn around, giving Ellie a view of your tear stained face. "What the fuck are you doing singing that fucking song?" Ellie furrows her brows, "what the fuck do you mean?"
"That's our song Ellie. Why are you still playing it?" You see Ellie scoff a little before taking a deep breath. "Can we talk? I can explain things better than we aren't standing in the middle of the fucking sidewalk." She kicks a rock.
You have to think very hard about this. It'll be embarrassing if you start to fight in a restaurant or park, going to each other's apartments is too intimate, but you'd be lying if you said you didn't miss talking to Ellie (even if she doesn't know that ha..ha.ha..).
"Okay."
"Okay?!"
You sigh, "We'll meet at the river. tomorrow at 6?"
She smiles and almost chuckles a little bit, "yeah that's great.."
What the hell did you get yourself into?
You and Ellie had a special spot near the river since your first date. It was a rundown, abandoned shed type thing that you made your own. Ellie added a loveseat and a coffee table, you added battery powered fairy lights and some tapestries.
Ellie's already sitting on the loveseat when you get there. Her hair is pull up into that half up half down style that she always does, you can see her white tank top under her brown flannel, her sleeves are rolled up to show off her tattoo, and she's MAN SPREADING. She definitely knew what she was doing.
"Hi." You say, awkwardly sitting as far away from her as you can and putting down the cut up fruit your brought as a peace offering. She smiles and wipes her hands of her pants, "hey.."
You notice the two drinks on the coffee table, she grabs one and hands it to you, "this still your favorite?" You nod and smile slightly at her.
After a few seconds of silence she speaks, "I started therapy about a month ago. I'm going once a week." You look at her and smile, "that's great Ellie. I'm happy for you."
She nods and looks down at her hands, "um, I'm sorry about what I said. It isn't true, I just let my frustration speak for me. And I'm sorry for literally making your life a living hell for the last year we were together. I had a lot of shit I needed to deal with and you didn't deserve that."
The truth is, you'd forgiven her a long time ago. All you wanted for her was happiness and seeing her apologizing is proof that she is getting better.
You take a sip of your drink and meet her eyes, "thank you for apologizing. That means a lot. I'm sorry too, I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions when you literally picked me up off the side of the road and let me sleep in your bed."
"Truce?"
".. Truce."
She smiles at you and leans back on the couch. "Soo, what've you been up too?"
You shrug, "nothing really.. I got hired full-time by the high school. I've been teaching a bunch of 10th graders literature and getting piss drunk."
Ellie's eyes light up, "seriously?? Y/n that's fucking amazing!! Not the getting piss drunk part but you've been waiting so long for an opening." You laugh and nod, "it's fun, the kids really like me."
In all seriousness the excitement on Ellie's face makes you want to grab her and kiss her. Buuut, you know you shouldn't...
"What about you?"
"I got promoted at work, I got a really good raise. Joel wants me to start learning how to run the place so he can retire soon." You grin at her, "ooh, little Ellie's gonna run a whole auto shop by herself" you wiggle your eyebrows and she playfully hits your arm.
"Shut up!!" Her cheeks are tinted red as you laugh. "And what if I don't?"
Ellie pauses and looks at you, you watch as her eyes travel down your lips but quickly make their way back up. "I'll give you discounts on repairs." You're lips are ZIPPED because that shit is expensive.
Ellie snorts and gets a grape from your container. You both just sit in silence for a little bit as you watch her. You're both studying each other's faces, thinking of all the times your lips have connected and your hands have touched her cheeks.
You take another sip of your drink and spill it all over your white long sleeve shirt. "Fuck!"
Ellie grabs the drink and sets it back down, looking around for some way to dry your shirt. "Um, fuck we don't have any napkins here"
You shake your head, "it's fine, it'll just air dry, this shirt was like 5 dollars anyway." Ellie furrows her eyebrows and starts to take off her flannel, "it's too cold, you can change into this." She hands it to you and turns around to give you privacy.
"Are you sure? You're gonna be cold just in a tank top."
Ellie shakes her head, "don't worry about me, I want you to be warm."
About an hour and a half later you're sleeping. Your head in Ellie's lap so comfortably as she traces circles on your arm. She huffs and looks at the time,

Ellie didn't want to wake you but she also was freezing her ass off as it get colder. She carefully gets up, picks you up bridal style, and carries you to her car. You'd taken an uber here so you didn't have to worry about your car being left here.
She sets you down in the passenger seat and you slowly open your eyes, "what're you doing?"
Ellie smiles and buckles your seat belt, "I'm gonna take you home, I don't want you taking an Uber when your this tired. Can I have your apartment building?"
You blink a few times before smiling and nodding, "thank you els. My building is the one by Nico's bar." She nods and closes your door before getting in her side and starting the car.
Even though she kept herself calm, Ellie was over the moon. You called her els. A nickname she hadn't been called ever since you broke up.
Ellie didn't care if she was your girlfriend or not. All she cared about was getting you back into her life, I think she succeeded?
You turn in your seat and look at her, "can we be friends?"
She glaces at you and smiles, "fuck yeah."
Not for long HaHaHaHa... 😈
Waaaa I hope this is good... I feel like the ending was a little bit rushed!! There will be a part 3, hopefully they kiss! I wnat to see them kiss!!

Thoughts on the Hazbin Hotel series so far? Episodes 1 - 3 were fine, but 4 - 6, goddamn. Great character dynamics, compelling themes, and music that BANGS harder than Disney can deliver atm. I’m so happy this show is approaching greatness cause Viv is talented when she wants to be.
I've kept this ask in the back burner until I've watched all of the episodes from 1-6, so I have done so and here are my takes!!!
This show is great! Really great! Some of the songs have made it in my head and remained there to this day (I'm looking at you, Stayed Gone), and ngl the 1-3 episodes had great character dynamics from the start, though I feel genuinely like there shoulda been a much better intro to HH in e1. It feels like you just spawned in this world and are expected to know everything. I guess it's made with the pilot in mind but that should be clarified at least.

Episode 4 was great, loved the insight into Angel Dust, though I'm not as severely attached to him but it was great regardless. Good shit! The song was pretty good.
Episode 5... what to say about it... I FUCKING LOVED IT OMFG HBISABIEBIBVBWVICSJBEBVWIFOI
I don't know why but lucifer is in my brain. he is in my soul. i cried at More Than Anything, I am in the process of making a lucifer video comp because of him. The blorbo ever. Instantly fits all the slots to the "silly traumatized men" category of characters that I love so much. The deisgn, his silliness. His voice. Unmatched. I AM NOT NORMAL ABOUT HIM AND HIS ARC YOU SEE!!!! I CANT CONTAIN THE SILLY BECAUSE HE IS SILLY!!! HE FUCKIN ROCKS! I LOVE THE SILLY FALLEN ANGEL!!!

Eddie hears Gareth’s drums hit the concrete floor and brown eyes pop open. Glaring. Gareth’s snickering, doubled over and laughing so goddamn hard he’s totally red in the face. “The fuck is so funny, Emerson?”
“Why the hell are we playing this shit?”
Eddie’s mouth opens and closes and he scowls when words won’t come. Truth is, he heard you humming along to this song as you roamed the aisles in the gas station when he bumped into you earlier in town.
And he wants to impress you even though he knows him and you are a dream concept and it’ll never actually happen.But the overwhelming urge to impress you somehow is there and he’s being tortured fully by it, so.. He’s learning the song of a band he doesn’t particularly care about one way or another.
And he’s trying real hard not to make a music video in his head starring you and featuring the more suggestive lyrics in the song.

Gareth laughs even harder and Gareth doesn’t think that’s possible because he was almost wheezing not even three seconds before. “This has nothing at all t’ do with the bartender..”
“Fuck you.” Eddie flips him off as he digs out a partially crushed soft pack of Camels and presses one between his lips to light. “Fuck you, man.” and he’s laughing because the whole thing in itself is hilarious to him. Because he’s making himself embrace and be okay with the fact that guys like him never get the girl.
Because why would it be any different this time?
“I gotta get going. Work, dudes. We’ll pick this up later, right?” Eddie asks his friends as he pockets his keys and begins to unplug his guitar and the amp he bought himself at the end of May. Gareth nods and Ethan gives him a thumbs up, grinning. Jeff speaks up casually.. “Later, man.. Maybe while you’re out and about, you could stop in that store your little bartender works in and actually talk to her instead of staring at her every time she bends down or over, dude? Just a thought.”
“I was not staring. I was appreciating a piece of art, Jeff.”

“Gonna go hide in the bathroom and cry now, Jane? Go ahead. Go cry. Loser.”
Jane’s fists clench at her sides. Max tenses up and she nudges Jane. “Say the word and I’ll punch her in the throat.”
Jane shakes her head. “If we ignore her, she’ll leave.”
“She hasn’t actually done that yet, Jane, c’mon. I need to punch her in the throat.” Max mumbles back.
Jane’s eyes dart around the crowded roller rink.
You’re standing over by the barricade with Robin, Nancy and Barb. The four of you are passing a soda around.
The last time Jane mentioned the situation with Angela, you made her swear she’d tell you the second something else happened. And you’re her sister now. She doesn’t want to break that promise. She also doesn’t want to look weak and pathetic or become known as the tattletale because according to her friends and her brother Will, that’s not a good thing.
Max follows Jane’s gaze and spots you. She grabs Jane’s hand and she’s practically dragging her across the wood floor as one of the people working the skate counter calls out to the two to get their street shoes off the skate floor. Max raises her middle finger and yelps out over Van Halen, “Calm your tits, idiot. We’ll put the damn skates on soon.”
You’ve just taken a sip of the extra large cherry Coke you’re sharing with Barb, Robin and Nancy as your eyes dart around the skate floor.
You spot Carol Perkins and Tommy Hagan sitting at a table on the outside of the barricade and you laugh. “They look so miserable.” you shake your head as you say it and Nancy takes the drink from you, raising the straw to her own lips. “They are. They fight non-stop. Or that’s what Steve was telling me, Jonathan, Barb and Robin the last time we did movie night. They’re not sleeping at all because a toddler and a five month old are apparently not a fun combination to have. Tommy didn’t get some promotion at that new car dealership so they were fighting about that too.. It’s awful, I feel bad for them..”
You cringe. Shrug mildly. “I mean, to be fair, they’re both selfish and childish, how’d they think having kids together was going to work… I said what I said. They weren’t adult enough to play house. I feel bad for those poor kids because their whole little story reminds me of a case I got to sit in on before I dropped pre law… It sucks when the kids suffer their parents obvious stupidity. It really sucks..” and you take the drink back from Nancy, taking another sip. You spot Carol and Tommy looking your way and when it gets to a point where it’s not only obvious but annoying, you give them a sarcastic little wave before turning your attention back to your friends.
“When is Steve gonna let me meet his future ex wife anyway?” you’re only half joking. Truth is, between what your brother and Nance have told you and what Barb and Robin have also told you, you’re kind of worried about the guy. He just doesn’t seem to be in the headspace to be moving in with this new girl he’s been seeing and she’s just.. Immature from what you’ve heard all your friends say.
“He says they’re not serious enough. I’m telling you, she’s a full on airhead.” Robin laughs. “It’s got disaster written all over it and I.. I mean we.” she gives Barb a soft little smile as she says it, “We keep telling him to just hang on, there is someone out there for everybody, even him.. But he’s determined, like.. He wants all these things and he wants them right away.”
“Oh yeah, that’s gonna go horrible for him.” you agree with Barb and Robin. Barb is the one who mentions your most recent relationship. “Why’d you break up with Daniel anyway? You were all about him before Christmas.”
You shrug. Blow at your bangs as they fall into your eyes and sigh. “He’s a douchebag. And get this.. Would you believe he expected me to like.. Give up anything I wanted to do just because we were going to get married? Like… I’m sorry, what? I’m the one out of both of us who even came close to getting that stupid internship before I quit. If anybody’s gonna be the trophy here, man, it ain’t me.”
Barb, Robin and Nancy all share a laugh. “That’s not all though, is it?” Nancy’s staring at you intently. Concerned. Because she’s overheard some of the messages that Daniel’s left on your mom’s machine begging you to at least think about coming back. He claims to love you, he claims that he’ll do whatever it takes to fix things. And you were always such a hopeless romantic, you were always the kind of girl who would try and try and try to make things work until you just couldn’t make it work a minute longer.
“Nope.”
“There’s more?” Barb’s cringing. Robin’s gaping a little. “He didn’t like.. Hit you or anything? Right?”
You laugh and shake your head. “If he’d been brave enough to try he would not have liked the way it ended for him, I promise you that. Nope, if he’d laid a hand on me this would’ve been over way before I finally ended things.” you go quiet. “I caught him throwing away my pills, man. And I found out he was screwing the secretary at his father’s firm? In our apartment?” you cringe a little. “I burned the sheets, took everything that I actually gave a shit about and left him in the middle of the night while he was out of town with his family. He’s called my moms house a million times since he got home on Monday.”
“He did what now?” Nancy nearly chokes on the sip she’s just taken and she’s looking at you with stunned eyes. “He threw away your pills?”
“Yeah. And he kept hinting at rushing the wedding. Having kids. Like… I want those things, I really do. You guys know this..” you rub your forehead. “This just felt all wrong, man. From the word go, I shouldn’t have gotten in that deep with him.”
“That’s crazy.”
“It’s entrapment, that’s what it is.” Nancy’s passing the soda to Barb and you feel a tap to your shoulder. You turn to find yourself face to face with your younger step sister Jane and her best friend Max Mayfield.
Jane is shaking her head, Max is trying to coax Jane into talking.
“What’s wrong, J? C’mon, talk to me.”
“Angela.”
Your eyes flit around the crowded skate floor and settle on the bottle blonde baby sister to Carol Perkins. The one that’s been making your sweet little stepsister cry and hide in the bathroom at lunch some days since at least Christmas.
Because she has a crush on Mike and Mike rejected her.
“Oh. Right.” you remember what you made her promise. And you rub your forehead. Your eyes darting around again just in time to see Carol huddled with her little sister and all her little sister’s snotty little friends and they’re all staring right over at the way you and your little group are gathered on your end of the open rink.
Carol’s visibly shocked when she realizes who you actually are. And when you hear Angela and her stupid little friends laughing it slams you all the way back to middle school.
Nancy sees your jaw tighten. “Hey, whoa.”
“This is not a good idea, __.”
“Sit down. Calm down.”
“Guys, this is not happening to her too, alright? It’s just not. It ends now.” you’re determined as you slip an arm around your stepsister and her best friend Max and the three of you make your way over to the other group of girls.
“Shit.”
“We better get over there, Nance. Remember second, sixth and ninth grade when she got it in her head that she was going to make Carol stop bullying us?”
You clear your throat and Carol looks up from lacing the skate shoes of a little girl with gapped front teeth and a heavily freckled face. Practically Tommy Hagan’s mini.
“Oh hey, ___.”
“We have a serious problem, Carol.” you’re calm when you say it. She’s got a brow raised. “Oh? You think so?”
“I know so. Stop playing dumb. You know what your sister’s doing to mine. You’re probably encouraging it for all I know.” you step closer to Carol as she stands to full height. But the heels on your boots and your teased hair make you just a little taller. You smirk down at her. “Your sister is going to apologize to mine and she’s going to do it right now, Carol.”
“And if she doesn’t?” Carol laughs. Shakes her head at your obvious audacity. You clench your fist. You smirk and it’s calm and cold. You’re not showing an ounce of the fear you did every single other time you tried to stand up to her for yourself in the past this time and Carol doesn’t know what to do with that.
“Oh she’s going to. One way or another.”
“Wait a second.” Carol laughs. “Is this you threatening me?”
You step even closer. Laugh and shake your head. “Oh it’s not a threat. It’s a promise.”
Angela skates up.
“Apologize to Jane.” Carol tells her sister and it’s so dismissive that instantly, it rubs you all sorts of wrong.
“Sincerely, Angela. If you pull one of those fake ones, I’ll know.. And maybe I’ll help my sister and her friends find clever little ways to make your tenth grade life a living hell.” your hand settles on your hip as you glare at the blonde.
“She won’t do anything, Angela. Just apologize. Because unlike ___ and her sister Jane, we were raised with class.”
As soon as Barb and Nancy hear that and see you going for the huge leopard print hoop in your ear, Nancy steps up. So does Barb and so does Robin. All four of you have your arms folded. Carol gulps as her eyes flit from one of you to the other. “You wanna say anything else, Carol?”
“Everybody knows it, __. You’re trash. Going away to college didn’t change it magically.”
“Really? That’s all you got?” you tsk at her and shake your head laughing. “She’s really losing her touch, I guess.” you say it and share a laugh with your best friends. The laughter dies and you tap your wrist. “Times ticking, kid.. Apologize now. Sincerely.”
“I’m sorry, Jane.”
“It’s..” Jane goes to tell her that it’s okay, a reflex you also used to have, but you elbow her gently and shake your head. “Do not tell her it’s okay. It’s not okay. She doesn’t get to treat you like crap.”
Jane nods. Max smirks at you and nods in agreement and she stands taller. “And the next time she even looks at either of you, you have my permission to give her whatever you think she deserves.”
“But Hopper..” Jane starts to point out that Hopper’s always told her not to fight.
“But Hopper will be fine with it. I’ll take the blame, alright?” you reassure her. Jane nods and takes a shaky breath.
“Apologize again, Angela.” you turn your gaze back to the blonde teen. “Now. With a little more conviction this time because I’m not sure you meant it.”
“I said I was sorry!”
“And you’re going to say it again.. I mean unless you just want me to make sure Chief Hopper knows what a bullying little brat you really are.” you threaten. Carol’s jaw clenches and she glares at you. “Is this really necessary?”
“It’s more than necessary, Carol.” Nancy asserts, giving her a calm smirk. “I mean.. Unless you want every single thing I know about your personal life to magically make the gossip pages in my newspaper?”
Barb and Robin grin and both high five Nancy.
You laugh. “What’s she know, Carol?” and when Carol tenses again, you shrug. “It’s just a question.”
“That’s none of your business. Or hers. If Tommy doesn’t stop telling Steve everything!” Carol’s loud when she says it and several parents watching their kids skate are all looking at her. The four of you burst into laughter.
“C’mon girls. We’ve tortured her enough tonight. It’s actually gotten boring. Let’s go, Max. C’mon Jane.” you call out as you start to walk away with your friends, “There’s a really killer sale on swimsuits down at JCPenney. And I think we could all use a little stop at the makeup counter, maybe?”
“Your stepsister is awesome.” Max laughs and Jane smiles, nodding in agreement as the two of them shove through a crowd to catch up to you and your friends.
And as you walk past the record store, Eddie Munson chuckles to himself and shakes his head. “Give ‘em hell, sweetheart.” he mumbles, having heard the entire confrontation.
Watching you defend your little sister and her best friend has done nothing but made his crush on you get even worse somehow.
But he doesn’t really mind.
Maybe you’re not like everyone else in Hawkins. And friends are always good to have, even if he knows in his heart of hearts that he wants so much more than that.

this is such a great statement for the theme of the album as well as who stray kids are
the bass is really good and the key is wonderful
the pre hook is absolutely amazing and it gets you hyped
minho’s parts are one of my favorites tbh he has such good energy and it makes it feel like his lines are a punch to the gut
i love the whole hook!!!!!!!!!
and the sci-fi vibe sfx are really good wow

this is an amazing title track imo!
honestly this is a great statement about who stray kids is and how far they’ve come. now hear me out.
they kind of show a little bit of everything that makes up their genre so to speak. noise music, hard bass, charming little quirky parts, not even mentioning the fun choreo and footwork that they’re known for.
it showed that they’re here and that they aren’t changing their brand any time soon.
the whistle to start it off is so iconic honestly
the pre hook yet again is my favorite and the ending section of the chorus with all the footwork :D
the pre hook is both gentle and hype-building
also that endless bass in the hook is so nice it’s low and tickles my ear just right

honestly i’m not always for big flashy mvs but i know that’s kind the era of kpop mvs rn but skz never really bothers me with their mvs even if there’s a lot going on LOL (like the soldiers, the octo monster, the horse, the fire, just for examples) oh and i won with all the chris shots LOL anyways
i really like the choreo it’s really playful and like they said it’s like a “playful annoying” HAHA it really comes off as these annoying kids having fun without a care. my favorite part of the choreo is the hook and the start of verse 2 i love the switch up so much it’s not even funny.
also the part where minho and chris get to be center with the footwork that’s such a nice moment!
i loved all the scenes on the boat fr fr that’s so cool! i also loved the camera work yet again their mvs always have such nice camerawork and editing <3333333 i love how they yet again did everything that tends to “bother” people. adding a lot of things to their videos and making them wild just like making their music noisy HAHA
i also really liked the minchanjeong shot for the bridge it’s so good. that and seungmin’s shot at the end of the bridge too! hyun showing up in the fire for hook 2 was also so nice! ugh i could talk about the whole mv tbh LOL
final thoughts ;
wow overall this comeback is hard-hitting and there’s so much to take in!! there’s literally way too much to deal with you can’t process it all on one listen or watch. you need like ten LOL i’m in love with this cb tbh after listening to the album and the songs and seeing the mv like 4-5 times (this will go up later lol) i’m really happy and pleased with this cb!! overall it’s quite literally 5 stars HAHA <3333 thanks for reading if you made it this far *bows* i’m out to vibe to the album and watch the fan chant (we got 4 parts of chris in s-class can i get an amen)

OMG WE'RE RANKING HAZBIN SONGS!?!?!?!? MY TURN MY TURN MY TURN!!!
Respectless: Carmilla and Velvette both have such satisfying voices omfg. Also the beat goes sO HARD- it catches your attention and DOESN'T LET IT GO! Also it moves the plot forward very effectively which is actually really important for songs in musicals to do so. That's nice. Tbh it's only flaw is being too short-
Stayed Gone: VOX MY BELOVED- this song is so fucking catchy. It also kinda gives me Will Wood vibes, and I love Will Wood so ofc I'm gonna love the Will Wood ass song. Love how petty Al and Vox are, like it's so fucking funny. The lore drops are also really interesting. Aaaaaaaand Alastor's bit at the end reminded me of the Nowhere King and I love Centaurworld so :)
Loser, Baby: Pretty obvious why this one's so high up; Huskerdust, Keith David, cute bonding, has a message I needed to hear tbh, and its catchy as FUCK
Hell Is Forever: God I love all the different genres they play around with in this show- like I was NOT expecting a straight up ROCK BALLAD in the FIRST FUCKIN EPISODE but god Im so happy we got it. This song goes so fucking hard. Alex Brightman should be allowed to sing more Rock n' Roll.
Poison: Once again, this song is catchy as hell! Blake Roman's vocal preformance is also phenomenal, like that man can fuckin SING!!! Of course he can he's been on broadway and releases his own music bUt you get it. Also that final verse... man. In the context of the episode this song is emotionally devastating, out of context it's uh. Still really sad tbh but it's easier to bop along to it cause you don't have the visuals- Idk it's just a fuckin banger man. Though speaking of the visuals VOX WHAT WAS THAT FUCKING LOOK WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO CONVEY HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT ANGE- *gets shot dead*
Happy Day In Hell: Honestly? Pretty neutral on this song. Love Erika Henningsen's voice, I think it's catchy(no duh), and the Disney Princess vibes are IMMACULATE. Not a huge fan of the random shift in the music I wanna say half way through? But otherwise it's a good song I think, conveys Charlie's motives really well.
Whatever It Takes: Okay okay look. It's a good song. Does it's job in the episode. It's just not for me. I think it goes on a little too long, and I think that, while Daphne Ruben-Vega's voice fits the song PERFECTLY, Stephanie Beatriz was singing too high in her range to a distracting degree. Like I think there was something wonky going on because that shit gave me the same whiplash I got when Marinette started singing in the Miraculous movie, and it just. Doesn't fit the style of the song. Like Vaggie's part should've been more belty or something. Idk man I might be too out of my lane w/ this for my critique to be valid, because I have literally never written a song before, and music is VERY subjective so I don't think I can even be objectively right here, but still. Oppinions.
It Starts With Sorry: Look, I know this song is supposed to be a joke, but the first time I saw the episode that did n o t click with me, and without the understanding that it isn't entirely serious this song just feels so fucking out of place and really falls flat. Like it feels like somebody took a song from My Little Pony: FiM, made an AMV with Hazbin characters, and then threw it in the episode, y'know? And like don't get me wrong MLP has some FUCKIN bangers(Say Goodbye to the Holiday, This Day Aria, etc), but a lot of the musical numbers are still really bland and samey, y'know? So uh yeah it's a decent song and a funny joke but def my least favorite so far.

1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?
I saw a TikTok about Steve getting Vecna’d and his song being Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears For Fears > I started thinking about Vecna songs > what the fuck would Robin’s be? > oh Robin would be such a good candidate to be Vecna’d actually > looking for Robin gets Vecna’d fics and not finding many > “fine I’ll do it myself” > spontaneously writing my first fanfic fucking ever and proceeding to dive face first into the worst case of brainrot I’ve ever had to date. Hallelujah
3: What’s your favorite line of narration?
Cheating again, this is technically in an unfinished chapter so sneak peek ig hehe
Nancy had revenge tattooed on her heart, black ink that sank deep into the muscle, turning it hard and blackened and cold. Her wrath was all encompassing. A bullet, chilled lead, sat heavy in her pocket, carved with one, singular name: Vecna. She would kill him for what he had done to her hometown, but especially for hurting Robin. And she would survive the encounter on ice cold rage and spite alone.

6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics?
Well for one, this is legitimately the first fic I’ve ever written. I spontaneously hopped on the fic writing train late late late July this year with this fic, and it’s still ongoing. I think it’s messy and the pacing is weird and it’s unbeta’d but it’s kind of charming like that I guess, and I like to think you can kind of see how I fell into the characters and developed my writing style as the story goes on? Idk, it has the same energy as ugly-cute animals, like pugs.
11: What do you like most about this fic?

But in all seriousness, like I said, I think you can track my development as a fic writer over the past several months, and I really enjoy the dynamic between Robin and Nancy through this whole thing. I also think my music choices are very Big Brain and Correct.
13: What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didn’t listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to to accompany us while reading?
I have an unofficial fic playlist that I used just for writing vibes, as well as the mixtape Nancy made for Robin in one of the later chapters! Basically a lot of 80’s music and Maya Hawke with a couple other songs sprinkled in because they were favorites at the time or just the vibes were fitting. Specific shoutout to “Smalltown Boy” by Bronski Beat as Robin’s Vecna song, and “Seventeen” by Janis Ian being runner up. I did a bit of research in queer music artists of the 80’s because it was important to me that, whether or not she knew it, Robin’s Vecna song was by a queer person/band! Also special shoutouts to this playlist and this playlist, which are just favorite songs and work really well for me to write to. (I have the best music taste, actually, btw, and I don’t have an ego about it—)

On dressing up, getting through life, and doing “the work” in an unjust world
Being the desi queer that I am, I woke up early on menstruation-day-4 and put on a classic ‘90s Bollywood song, “Woh Ladki Jo” (I find that the eponymous lyric that says that this girl is different from everyone ("Woh ladki jo sabse alag hai") very hilarious because I’m all like “I really am not like other girls because I’m not actually a girl. I just love makeup and dressing up regardless of all that”), on repeat, and did my makeup. Put on my girlfriend’s dress. Rolled my eyes at my cramps (and fatigue and breakouts and omfg all the pain). I did a lot of spoon recovery and self-care yesterday: was able to take off work because the schedule was sparse, got a much-needed haircut (the last one was before my defense in April 2021), and basically was horizontal for the rest of the day. Today, I’m much more active - I can feel myself being more genuinely upbeat even though I’m still grieving.
And I’m so upset at the state of the world. I always am.
As Angela Davis says: “Sometimes we have to do the work even though we don't yet see a glimmer on the horizon that it's actually going to be possible.”
I think we should all do something. Anything. Within our limits, sure, but something.
But what work should we be doing?? How do we measure or even justify if we are doing what we can or if it is even going to make a difference? When things are so systematically unjust at so many scales and levels of entrenchment, it’s hard not to get jaded even when you’re outraged at the senseless violence that not only happens in this country but all over the fucking world.
I used to be a part of the DEI group at my old department at Pitt (where I did my Ph.D.). DEI stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion. We were a group of four: two professor-types, one student (me!), and one staff person. We banded together after the murder of George Floyd - many organizations all over the country formed DEI groups. Our department head was SO enthusiastic about it (you know how it goes (paraphrased): “we gotta do something about this!!”) but … only four people signed up. And we were powerless. We came up with ideas and drafted a couple of plans/documents: a proposal, a mission statement, a budget, a failed book club idea (my idea, no surprise), and a contentiously received presentation…. We were largely ignored. There were some programs in place and efforts made to increase diversity but it all was strained. Other people in our department mentioned that the work was hard with little payoff. Others had grand ideas that could not be done without more staffing. No one had the allotted time or energy. Morale was low. And we didn’t have the resources to really conduct investigations into the state of equity or even have the requisite knowledge to educate or bring about change.
Many activists say that DEI groups don’t work. They’re performative, at best.
Performative DEI is perpetuating the problems we face. It is not “the work.” Posting a blackout picture (even though you can! And there is utility and validity in raising awareness and sharing your pain/concern!!) or simply sharing a hashtag without any real follow-through is… not furthering the cause. Having an organization that is isolated from everything else just to have it… is laughably not “the work.” Throwing money at the problem (even though you should donate and support as much as you can) is not just enough.
These are my suggestions (I come from a place of privilege as I type this, and I am open to feedback, criticism, and suggestions):
1. Make a fuss. Call people out: your colleagues and even yourself. Say uncomfortable things. Say “I don’t like it when you comment on my colleague’s hair” or point out the lack of diversity on your team “There are 5 white-passing folks and only one brown person. Hmm, why?” Use your words as best you can and then be humble when corrected on your language. Clearly state that you think your organization is racist or gendered or not inclusive. Call out ableism. Say it in front of your boss. Be emotional. Make it socially uncomfortable. Do it over and over again. Everyday. Risk your job even if you’ll lose it and you’ll be left with nothing - sacrifice is necessary. Make it obvious. Because we are all too complacent and… keeping the peace keeps the oppressive structures in place.
2. Actually make DEI a priority by funding it, hiring more staff, encouraging it at EVERY event, and making it a part of day-to-day operations (how you ask? Idk… why don’t you take the time to figure that out? Cancel meetings and meet about this instead. Scratch your heads and figure it out - it’s not an extracurricular, and it’s not easy. Do it for years! It should be a part of your job, no matter what your job is.).
3. Make real progress on DEI goals. DEI goals should be part of the business plan. Mandate it. Make the goals small and realistic so that they can actually get done. Follow whatever paradigm that will help (e.g., SMART goals).
4. Pay everyone involved. Fairly according to industry standards or whatever. More than just a livable wage, whatever that looks like in your area. This goes along with funding. Require DEI training, regularly. Make it mandatory. Make it so annoyingly part of the training and maintenance of your organization that people talk about it all the time.
5. Have a DEI presence at every level of your organization. Connect the presences. Clearly define any form of accountability metric. Then publicly and obnoxiously showcase those metrics, even if they don’t look good. Especially if they don’t look good. Awareness and “the work” requires us to acknowledge our failures and not just our successes.
6. Keep creating accountability metrics and then redefine them… constantly. Have people relearn what they need to keep track of.
7. Don’t sensationalize DEI. It’s not just an event. It just doesn’t happen when someone gets murdered. Integrate it within your work and your life. Some of us don’t have a choice but to be affected by the inequities of the world… then why do you or your organization have that choice?
8. Don’t be discouraged by a lack of progress. Don’t give up (I did give up because I was fatigued but there were no structures in place to help motivate me. And the people who cared enough to encourage me didn’t have the support either). Don’t give up like me, even if you’re a fatigued POC. And if you feel like you’re drowning and no one is listening, SCREAM. Protest. Figure out a way to get your voice heard.
That’s my call to action. What’s yours?

that's all!!! this was genuinely the Worst year of my life but there was so much music across many genres to comfort me, so i’m happy now. kpop releases always have a place in my heart and there was so much good stuff this year.
