the fucking KIDS at welton. the CHILDREN. maybe its just me but i always find myself forgetting that welton isnt a highschool + there are in fact a lot more students than the ones we're focusing on. thats what makes welton so like. evil? to me? they start pushing these kids into a box EARLY.

related, i wouldve LOVED to see how(/if?) keating taught these kids, or rly any other class! he has other classes!!! i think!

ok. of course. neil is a smoker, we've touched on that. but charlie is too?? and he's the one who provides the cigs???? obviously the easy explanation is that he does it to be rebellious and stuff but also Is There Something Else. much to think abt. also wondering where he gets his cigs but thats not rly anything i dont think.

this ones just funny but when mr perry tells the boys they can take a seat and todd simply does not. i KNOW he wasnt sitting before and he needs to unpack and stuff but ITS STILL FUNNY.

also!!! neil calling his dad sir. obviously its something so glaringly obvious that we dont need to have a discussion abt how theres a disconnect between them. like wow rly thanks mona i didnt know. but come on!!! it makes me sad!!! also they shake hands later in this scene and its the most affectionate/ friendly we see these two get. and its a handshake. and i think what makes it worse is that neil is a SUPER physically affectionate person with his friends. if u watch the movie and pay attention to how often he's touching someone else then ur gonna be like man. he rly was jumping at every opportunity huh.

something about the way neil and the boys act around mr perry makes me view him as more of a drill sargent than anything. everyone immediately stands upon him entering the room. they dont sit until given permission. it rly puts the whole military school thing into perspective but NOT ENOUGH TO SATISFY ME. as much as i hate mr perry, i wanna know what his life was like growing up. this man lived thru the great depression AND wwii, theres stories.

cam's stupid fucking face when keatings behind him larping ghosts. i will never stop talking about how sassy this kid is. the dps redheads go criminally unacknowledged in terms of comedy because OH MY GOD. CAM AND MEEKS WERE SO FUCKING FUNNY??? they both pulled the most dastardly judgemental looks and they make me cackle. a bit earlier in this scene meeks goes full 🙄🤨 on sniffles (tissue kid. i call him sniffles) and it is, without exaggeration, my fav part of the movie.

the fact that i totally thought knox was gonna fall off his bike and eat shit in this scene. it would be so out of place since dps isn't exactly full of physical comedy but GOD i still fully anticipated it. either that or him getting attacked by a bird. theres totally symbolism surrounding birds in this movie btw and idk what to make of it. if any of u lovely ppl have a theory then lmk immediately.

keating so accurately calling cam out being like "is this right is this right. am i walking right." BC YESSS. i will eventually make a fully fledged cam post but to briefly touch on it, i find cam to be very confused on what is right, usually in terms of morals. a whole situation of confusing your personal values with the rules, thinking theyre one in the same, and completely abandoning what u actually believe. unfortunately i think neils death rly amplified that nd is what led him to tattle. cuz cam is still willing to break the rules in the beginning of the movie!! he's outwardly judgemental but he still does it!! much to discuss, i promise i will eventually.

u guys know im an avid knox hater but this made me giggle. rip knox overstreet u wouldve loved twitch streaming.

THE SPECIFICS OF THIS SHOT. i was gonna make a post a while ago being like "idk i find it funny that the main focus of this shot isnt even one of the poets" and then i realised that WAITTTTTTT THATS THE POINT!!!! keating reached kids besides the poets!!! u didnt have to be in the dead poets society to be affected by the way he taught his classes!!! u just had to be his student!!!!! also i love the fact that the kids who stayed seated r ASHAMED. EMBARRASSED.

the ending shot. oihghgghgg. it was SUCH a choice to set it up this way and honestly i adore peter for making it. this shot is SOOOO UNCOMFORTABLE TO LOOK AT and i love it. when i first watched this i was like "uhm ok interesting choice putting todd between this kids legs but I GET IT. one of the biggest things i remember from the film classes i took is that the way u set up shots is sooo important narratively, and one way to rly push the narrative is the space around a character in a shot. for example! if u have a character on screen surrounded by a TON of negative space then it rly emphasises how alone/ isolated they are. on the other end of the spectrum (the todd spectrum), if you surround a character in a shot with other objects or obstructions, like todd and this kids legs, then it rly emphasises how trapped and confined they are. looking at this makes me feel like. claustrophobic almost, like it's genuinely a bit harder to breathe looking at it. TODD IS STILL TRAPPED IN THAT SCHOOL. YES HE STOOD ON THE DESK AND YES HE NOW HAS THE MOTIVATION TO BE MORE CONFIDENT BC OF NEIL BUT HE! IS STILL! TRAPPED THERE!

i was also gonna add that we dont rly talk about todd personality wise outside of poetry and anxiety but then i realised, what else is there? we dont really see much about him as a person outside of that, and i think thats the point! todd is constantly overshadowed by his brother, we know that, but i dont think we realise HOW MUCH that ties in with his entire character. quite honestly, outside of poetry and anxiety, ALL we have surrounding todd is his brother and his achievements. and of course! that makes sense! his parents want him to be just like his brother, they dont care about who he is as a person. UGH.

the desk set scene rly is the most insight we'll get into todds actual personality and desires imo, and thats what kills me. he wants a car!!!! get this boy a car!!!!!!!!! we rly see him start to open up before neils death and i wouldve LOVED to get to know todd when he's actually in a place to be himself!! but of course we never got that! sobs.

this is gonna be kinda messy and disorganized but i got it HANDLED

again, THIS IS ALL MY AU!!! there is a streamline, detailed plot that intertwines, so these characters mingle and grow in ways they probably wouldnt in canon, since different events follow them here O/S Syndrome = Operator/Slender Syndrome, aka slender sickness

Toby: He thinks of Brian and Tim kinda like shitty uncles who only come around every now and again . they used to taunt him a lot cuz toby was always like. annoying, selfish, sarcastic - so it would piss them off, and they'd piss toby off, and then it would be pretty bad. but as toby gets older and calms the fuck down, it gets better between them . he gets pretty sad when they eventually cut him(and everyone) off to move to like, canada or oregon or something.

he likes kate. theyre both outcasts even in a group of creeps and killers and literal monsters.... so toby's always been nice to her. when she refused to come to the cabin, he ended up dragging a mattress over to the mines for her. brings her food, gallons of water, t shirts. she owns random band t shirts that she doesnt even listen to cuz toby gave it to her LMFAOOO . he's the reason kate starts coming and staying at the cabin

Kate: she hates tim. completely cannot stand him. she hates when slendy makes them work together. he's been a dick to her since he met her, because their first time meeting was um. her dragging tim through the forest while he was unconscious. and she was generally part of what tormented him during the events of marble hornets (IN MY AU OBVIOUSLY). he's also uncomfortable because when she kills people she does it with her bare hands. will lick the blood and dirt and grime off her fingers. generally freaky.

she's better with brian. he doesn't remember her tormenting him so much during MH, but he still knows - but he's better at empathizing with her situation. he kinda pieced together what happened to her, while tims just blinded by like. anger and trauma. dont get me wrong, brian is still uncomfortable around her (again, she acts really scary when working), but when she's not working and she just sits there. she looks so tired, and she's so quiet, and its sad. he feels for her.

she likes toby, too. first person to treat her fully like a person after becoming a proxy without her having to like, beg for it (directly or indirectly). again, he brings her things, he's kind to her, laughs with her. he'll tease her and make fun of her but she can tell it's not with ill intent so she'll do it back - she considers him her best friend for a while.

Tim:

HE'S A HATER HE'S A HATER HE'S A HATER ok i know i call him an asshole and say he's mean a lot but i legit am not mad at him and i think he is within reason (like 60% of the time) since like. kates dragged his unconscious body through the forest and left him covered in scratches/bruises, toby's almost always throwing the first punch, he's had his entire life derailed for so fucking long, and these kids don't make it any easier- he could've been in kates position, which is the one thing that makes him kinda hesitate when he wants to say smth mean. he usually isnt an asshole unprompted, but he'll always take it the second step.

a lot different for brian. he wanted him dead for a while too. blamed him for a lot of stuff, but at this point he........... has nobody else. brian is his friend. i feel like writing too much about the complication of their relationship kinda takes away from it. theyre roommates, they leave together, they'd fight tooth and nail to stay in eachothers lives. despite everything

Brian:

i feel like i dont have a lot to say about brian since I already described everyone else's relationship...

just to sum it all up with him, he cares more about all three of them then he lets on. but he's also a lot better at showing he cares. he brings some basic groceries and beer and shit over to the cabin pretty frequently, he'll hang around toby and if kates there, ask if she needs anything. she usually just shakes her head, but on the off chance she says she wants like. a specific drink. he kinda feels like he got +1 friendship points with her LMFAOOO . and obviously he jokes around and messes with toby when they're not fighting

and again, same thing with tim. that's his friend. he's missing a LOT of memories from the events of MH, but tim hasn't hesitated in telling him how he feels about it... and he feels bad. it all sucks. even now, he says things he doesnt mean, just because all of the guilt and anger and trauma gets him and tim both riled up. then they go get a drink together and move on

overall, the proxies are pretty messy. brian and tim arent very present anymore, toby and kate are sort of taking on their 'in charge' roles. their relationship slowly mends itself over time, since my AU largely focuses on improvement and recovery and redemption (HOWEVER MUCH THEY CAN ALL THINGS CONSIDERED...), but its still pretty bad

a dom but in possibly the worst - best way ever

he’s the type to brag to everyone that he is the dom but no one believes him, everyone thinks youre the dom but he gets his way every single time.

hes a bit stubborn so he takes things like this almost like a competition, he has to prove to you, and the world, that he is in fact a dom. it gets tiring at times but you laugh at it.

its an interesting dynamic, no one believes he’s the dom but as some would say “he has you wrapped around his fingers” and you honestly dont mind. hes sweet and compassionate when he needs to be, serious and stern when he needs to be as well.

hes moody and a lot of times has mood swings every five seconds, he really is like a kid. he’s fussy and whiny but you know at the end of the day you love him and he loves you, you two would never want your dynamic to be shared with someone else nor lose this dynamic.

venti is a bit of a wild card! he’s definitely a switch

i feel like venti is confident in certain aspects of the relationship and with other aspects he just lets you take control if youre more confident.

i feel like a relationship with venti would for sure be 50/50, probably the most balanced relationship but a bit of a hectic and chaotic one to be sure.

venti wouldnt necessarily know how to answer someone if they asked who wears the pants, hed probably say you just to throw them for a loop but you both know youre equals in this relationship.

he’s definitely the type to have acted like a “badass” or a “bully” in highschool but in reality he just wanted a hug and for someone to tell him theyre proud of him.

he has absolutely no mercy for anyone who even attempts to hurt you, however. youre the only one who has and is able to see his soft side.

he shows you off to his friends and worships the ground you walk on, it doesnt bother you one bit that he pretends to wear the pants in the relationship to his friends and fellow acquaintances.

juts a fair warning this is a very long ramble so like. people reading this be careful you might be stuck here forever because you cant put read more in asks for some reason

I don't have any updated references for Six Silver Stars (the one who's very mad at one guy) so she won't. have any images.

She was created with the idea of mapping stars and planets and stuff so her puppet chamber was built outside of the can and made out of glass with her puppet arm attached to the roof of it. im sure this creates no issues at all whatsoever. anyways the main ancients that monitored her and talked to her did not like them. which im sure doesnt create any issues whatsoever. ive fallen in love with the idea of schools organising trips to visit the puppets of iterators so she made friends with this one kiddo who wasnt super social with the group. kid was often granted permission to visit her chamber and they'd often talk and just bond. kid was part of a fancy-ish family who was very devoted to the void. bring in Unnamed Iterator because i cannot think of a name

art and design not by me by a friend btw.

anyway they were made to bless people and prepare them for the void. like the people felt that they were ready and they pretty much just said 'yeah good luck' and gave them offerings and fancy robes and masks to hopefully make the void favour them slightly. Kids family went 'yeah lets all dip in the void and take our like. 15 year old kid with us this is so cool of us' which then left Stars pretty alone as her ancients often just. blocked communications for her because they were soo amazing(sarcasm) Stars immediately turned all blame onto the guy because its all she really had to blame. she didnt know the parents of the kid and she obviously wouldnt blame the kid so yeah. this guy was the blame.

this guy also worked very closely with Swirling Blossoms, Fading Fast

(again art and design not by me i saw this adopt and my brain went yesss) as they both had similar but different jobs. They made to be a god directly to the ancients, a place of worship, offerings and confessions. she was built with taboos SUPER SUPER SUPER enforced into her code like to an ungodly amount. also was given a lot of 'ancients need help you must help them they dont mean to do anything wrong ever they need help.' again i am sure that this didnt give them any issues surrounding themselves and their ancients at all. both them and unnamed guy communicated a lot and slowly started to date in secret which was Really Weighing on Blossoms because ''dont grow attached to anything thats a sin thats a no no ''

this continued to weigh in on her and like. a little while after the mass accession somehow messages between them got leaked. like not anything gross just typical couple stuff. not sure how this happened yet . but yeah, she was Very Stressed OUt About This despite like no once giving a shit. panic lead to her making dumb desicions and she ended the relationship and isolated herself. a lot 👍

so during this unnamed guy is like acticly trying to fix two relationships, one with someone they barely knew but felt very very bad for and one with their ex.

starts continued to do not very good and was exceedingly pissed at unnamed guy because before the mass ascension her communications were blocked and no one is able to break them or undo them. so like. they were sending scugs back and forth to Stars who was just like "Dude FUCK OFF you fucking killed my kid " and his ex was just sending them back with no response. theyre so fucking fucked over and a sopping beast and theyre not okay.

yes, like you said, it's a school talent show! you love stuff like this, watching the kids enjoying themselves and doing something they're passionate about, so when Ross suggests going over dinner one evening, you jump at the idea.

you're sat next to each other, a few rows from the back so the parents could get the best view, the room dark as a few of the year 10 boys perform on stage. they've made a little band, and Ross had been giving them a hand with showing them how to play certain instruments and stuff. obviously, their music teacher had a lot to do with it, but Ross is just so approachable and patient with them that they found themselves asking him for help. you're beaming as you watch him watch them, the biggest smile on his face! when they've finished, everyone's applauding and cheering, Ross stood up at the back so they can see him. their faces are priceless, spotting him giving them a standing ovation. when he sits back down, he turns to you - 'god, it was like watching me and my mates when we were 15.'. you lean into him a bit, pressing a kiss to his cheek like 'yeah, and look at you now', him turning to you a bit emotional. like you said, you just wish you could have told little Ross how loved he is and how successful he is and how many people he's going to make happy. I think as the evening progresses, your arm is linked through his and your head is resting against his sleeve, watching all of the acts. there's some younger girls from the primary school that's joined to the secondary, maybe 7 or 8, and they're doing a dance act, and they're just so bloody cute. you find yourself wondering what your own kids will be like, picturing you and Ross sat exactly like this but watching your own girls. he's thinking the exact same thing, pressing a kiss to the top of your head - i think you've been together a while at this point, not engaged yet though. when you get home, you're taking off your coat and stuff, and he's just suddenly turns to you with 'do you ever wonder what our kids will be like?'. it takes you by surprise - 'our kids?', and he's like 'yeah, of course i mean our kids.'. it makes you all sappy, and you answer him with 'yes, all of the time.'. he brings it up again when you're laid in bed that night, and i think that's the first time you've ever really had the baby talk.

She does also find the subway lair too but by then she's become aware enough to know she needs to step back or risk alienating the kids too much. It was a lot easier to find the lair now that she knows what to look and since Donnie didn't have enough time to put up proper cloaking and defenses after being uprooted so suddenly. It take a hot minutes before the turtles even realize she knows, she's just been having her people watching over them from afar with he expectation they would eventually have to come to her and they'd find a bunch of really expensive and personalized gifts randomly shoved in their hands by yokai whenever they were in the Hidden City. She also cases Run of the Mill out, determining its an important place to her babies.

Oh definitely! She probably finds out about the subway almost as soon as they do lol. But after the whole "Battle Nexus NYC" fiasco (which she set up as a way of showing affection but it backfired pretty bad(i went over it a little more here), she realizes she has to step back and give them some space. especially since even though they her intentions were good (ish?), it doesn't change the fact that battle nexus nyc happened and directly lead to their fight(s) with the shredder. A lot of trust was lost to that (especially in Leo's case. Who was at the "maybe we can trust her" point, and immediately shoots back to "not a chance in hell")

But, like you pointed out, just because she's giving them space, doesn't mean she doesn't want to at least make sure they're safe.

The idea of Mama sending out curriers with gifts for them is both hilarious and adorable. Like theyre just chilling in the hidden city and a random dude runs up like

"Mama sends her regards"

Shoves a package into Mikey's arms, and disappears.

It's the expensive paint set that he had been staring at last week.

Mikey loves it.

Leo thinks he should get rid of it (b/c it's from Mama and she's obviously trying to bribe them)

Mikey threatens to web him to the ceiling if he so much as looks at his new paints. (and he very much doesn't mind being bribed by their mom. At least she's showing that she's paying attention to their interests.)

They'd warm back up to her eventually (Mikey makes sure of it. He refuses to let his family stay angry with one another over, what was essentially, a misunderstanding. Redemption arc starts in earnest about then.) and it's not the gifts that do it, not really. It's that she's showing she cares for them, taking their interests into account, the fact she actively wants to learn who her boys are, that does it. Also the fact she apologies (something Mikey coaxes her through since i doubt apologizing is her strong suit) certainly helps matters.

oh definitely not. Id imagine she'd keep that a secret for just such an occasion.

I SPENT LIKE AN HOUR THINKING ABOUT A LN NIGHTMARES X MAGNUS ARCHIVES CROSSOVER 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 AND THEN ANOTHER HOUR WRITING IT DOWN 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥

specifically like, what entities would each character be part of

first off: in my brain this is like, a world in which the powers succeeded at coming into reality, and the different places we see are kind of like.... different domains? but overall less separate than they are in the tma canon, its all sort of a mess. also obv since its a crossover au its quite different from my interpretation of how the ln world works.

PALE CITY

mono/the thin man: obviously my first thought was immediately "EYE" but if you think about it he's WAY more spiral than eye. he can mess with reality, with perception. quite literally he distorts things. he is glitches and time fuckery. 100% spiral

the signal tower is a SpiralxEye mix, with the physical location of the tower itself being a manifestation of the Spiral, while the weird eye flesh thing is an obvious mix of Beholding with a touch of Flesh.

the tower fucks up reality, time and space, its full of impossible geometry and distorted things and time not working right. it wants to confuse and trap you, and unless you know what youre looking for (mono following the music box), ur gonna be running in circles in there forever (like how michael and helen managed to overcome the distortion bc they had maps).

the flesh walls does surveillance, it can watch the whole city through the televisions, it gets people by Knowing what they want most and showing it to them, and eventually pulling them through the TVs and into itself (the Flesh part). it watches the entire city and no one is safe from it.

the city is then mixed Spiral-Beholding domain, the signal tower spread fear through the city with the transmission, distorting it, and then the flesh wall came in and hijacked it a bit, starting the surveillance.

the doctor: 100% stranger. its mannequins come to life cmon. the people that went to him tho were mostly affected by the flesh, unhappy w their bodies and wanting the doctor to "fix" them (the part of the flesh that deals with body dysmorphia).

hunter: the hunt. obviously

the teacher/school: this one im not sure, but i think Eye? not so much for six and mono who just kind of passed through there, but for the porcelain kids living there. like think about it, theyre all terrified of the teacher bc they know shes watching them and could get them doing something wrong. irl too, the fear of school comes from the paranoia that youre gonna be judged by other students, or Found Out by the teachers. so i like that as my final answer

the viewers: i have no clue tbh. they could be so much. they have both the eye and the spiral hypnotizing them, they fit the stranger cuz well theyre fucking weird, the whole hive mind thing they appear to have going on and the lack of free will reminds me of the web, and the mindless violence is very slaughter? i actually rlly liked the slaughter answer bc the tvs, the things hypnotizing them, are often playing music which is a common way the slaughter manifests? but that would mean tvs are slaughter ON TOP of everything else so idk

THE MAW

obviously its the flesh. theres not much going on in here besides cannibalism. Six, the chefs and the guests are also flesh.

shadow six could be a manifestation of the spiral, it Was created in the signal tower after all. its there to make six question her sanity. six's hunger exists for the same reason as it does in game (surviving the tower when people Definitely are not supposed to made her lose part of herself, like her spirit or soul or whatever, and so her physical body not being able to process something metaphysical like that, seeks to fill that empty space somehow. hm losing a part of your Self after surviving an encounter with an avatar is a thing that happens in the podcast actually, georgie and her fear. its kind of like that)

the lady tho, initially id say shes flesh too since she runs the place, but idk how much she actually... does? the maw seems to have its own force going on, shes just kind of there. strolled in one day and said Hey I Rule This Now and everyone just went Sure. and she herself doesnt seem to have much interest in the whole cannibalism thing going on? she doesnt Partake she just oversees it. I think the lady fits the dark very well, she can disappears into shadows or even kind manipulate them. she also fits the end since she literally has the power so suck life force out of ppl. which is probably how she survives, like that one statement giver who kept dying and stealing ppl lives. WAIT I JUST READ HER WIKI PAGE AGAIN AND SHES DESCRIBED AS "CASTING A HYPNOTIC SPELL THAT KEEPS [THE MAW] RUNNING" THATS SO WEB. theres so many possibilities aaaaaa. wait i have an idea.

"The Lady has been in The Maw for a long time. She’s learned all sorts of unpleasant things during her residence. It’s best that we don’t scratch the surface.". what if she's like mary or leitner? she has a huge fuck off library, which might be where she learned so many things from. she could be someone (maybe an avatar of the web) that learned how to use abilities of all the fears without falling into them. which is why she can sap out people's life like The End, manipulate shadows like The Dark, rule a domain of the Flesh, watch over people with the Eye (the cameras and overall eye imagery) etc. i really like that actually.

the janitor: idk stranger? he works at the maw but he also doesnt seem part of the whole cannibalism thing. hes mostly portrayed as a creepy guy (not in a great way bc the game is just like. wow look how weird blind people are with the way they. are blind. but it does end up being all he does in the game). plus he has dolls

runaway kid wasnt part any fears; he was just a victim.

more random stuff:in general, the way the game makes the kids really small and everything else really really huge to show just how powerless they are is like, capital v Vast. the nest is a domain of the stranger but idk enough about the lore of that place to ascribe fears to indiviual characters. also i havent read the comics in a while but i might do that at some point and then ill give fears for those characters too. thats all i thought of i think

its actually incredible to me that i was completely neutral on barbara and dick as a couple before the current romance arc involving them written by TOM TAYLOR (<-enemy) in the current nightwing run. The thing is that i think theyre cute as a couple but only when theyre batgirl and robin. I think it was like a cute kid crush thing that they grow out of. and even though thats my ideal dick and barbara in birds of prey were pretty cute too (especially with the added comedy of dick gnawing off his arm with jealousy because he thinks ted kord is stealing his girl when in actuality. Um. hes not.)

dickbabs vs dickory is such a stupid ass team jacob vs team edward argument but its becoming increasingly harder not to want to shoot them both with missiles whenever i see them now. and that has to do both with what dc is doing to my girl barbara and also tom taylors writing right now is obviously him trying to own the haters and its so embarrassing and cringe. which is sad bcuz oracle and nightwing are two of my absolute favorite gotham heroes (well bludhaven for dick. yknow what i mean)

i resent bea being reduced to boosters sassy third wheel to his and teds relationship especially since its like my favorite thing that booster and bea are like funhouse mirrors of eachothers mental illness. like why does booster get all the fun in being fucked up and crazy. beas crazy too! did you see what she was doing with sigrid nansen! beatora has so little fancontent in comparison to boostle but both relationships have a lot of parallels with eachother...(listen i know my tags ratios are uneven as well but i promise i have more in the back)

hmm well on the topic of barbara gordon, and i need to preface this with saying that i dont hate this about her i actually think its awesome and interesting. I dont hate any of my faves worst traits its what i love hte most about them....

I love that shes straight up not very good with kids. Shes good buddies with tim because hes a super genius little boy so he can hang with her on her intellectual level. but barabara gets frustrated easily and impatient when people arent as smart or as capable as her. and i think thats awesome and really interesting. shes not cruel by any means and im thinking specifically of her mentorship of cassandra cain in batgirl 2000. throughout the whole comic they have a very close sisterly bond as barbara, as oracle, mentors her in being batgirl. For anyone who doesnt know cassandra, she cant read and is non verbal most of the time. when she does speak its in short or one word responses and a lot of times she copies what she hears on tv or mixes up words in her inner monologue. Here she needed to read a kill switch phrase to stop a robot from fucking shit up, but she cant read what it says and barbara snaps at her.

this causes a rift in their relationship for a long time and they dont speak for a lot of it. to be fair barbara here was uunder a ton of stress and was operating on like 1 hr of sleep and she did apologize but this really hurt cassandra and she didnt accept her apology (right away)

while reading this does hurt its one of my favorite barbara moments because its like. shes multifaceted bitch. her snapping at her in this way makes sense and is believable for her as a character. barbara has her strengths and her weaknesses and I just think putting herself at the level of teenagers is one of her weaknesses that i think is really interesting

🗣️Talk about your favourite WIP

i am so excited to talk about this FSHLFSG so i always find multi-chaptered fics super intimidating and i have this thing planned out from start to finish and written about 20k words for it but im too scared to post it unless im at least halfway done bc i dont want to risk abandoning it 〒▽〒

i dont even know if anyone in this fandom knows about these books, its a beyblade x all for the game crossover, you dont need to know anything about aftg, its just the setting but then with the mfb characters and beyblade instead of exy. kyoya is neil (obviously, its me duh) and on the run from his dad and gets recruited for the metal state spirits, a pretty decent college beyblade team. it has its two star players gingka (kind of a mix of kevin/matt) and ryuga (andrew; yup this is ryukyo) who convince kyoya to accept the offer despite him knowing it will put him at risk.

so theyre all in college, and the spirits are gingka as the team captain, then ryuga, kenta, hikaru, benkei, yu and kyoya. ryo is the coach. hyoma the team's physician. hokuto is their psychiatrist lmao.

i dont want to reveal everything yet bc there is some mystery there especially if you dont know the books (and even if you do cos i did make a lot of changes to the original plot); but ill put a short scene at the bottom under the cut if that interests anyone

👻Is there a scene that you find intimidating that you have yet to write?

tbh anything that is very introspective is intimidating to me and i am in particular talking about the dark trio and the dark power right now because thats a thing i promised and desperately wanted to do for mayblade but i am struggling so hard with how exactly to go about this. i have a whole word document dedicated to how the dark power affected each one of the dark trio but the how and why of the conversation(s) they would have about that completely eludes me at the moment bc i need it to be at least kind of in character and it has so many references in canon which is exhausting and intimidating both. i am honestly just writing all the other prompts i still have for mayblade first and probably will be leaving this one for last or until i have a sudden flash of inspiration. you never know.

the worst thing about this is that i have several ideas for several short fics talking about the dark power and the dark trio or just tsubasa or just hikaru (kyoya just wasnt as affected lol) but obv still have the same problem for these. i am so fascinated by what you could do with these kids and their trauma i just wish i knew how to go about it haha ha... ughhh

okay heres the snippet for the aftg crossover:

Kyoya only realizes his mistake once it's already too late. He's too engrossed in teaching Gingka a lesson that he doesn't notice another person appear behind Gingka until they grab his T-shirt and violently yank him around. Kyoya’s back slams against the row of lockers next to the door to the locker room. Ryo angrily shouts, "Ryuga!" but gets no response.

Internally, Kyoya sighs in exasperation. Gingka Hagane and Ryuga Himoto. He is in a room with the two people he has vowed to keep as far away from as possible. In his mind he sends a quick prayer heavenward and apologizes to his mother for all the stupid decisions that have brought him into this situation.

Ryuga fixes him with an unreadable stare of golden eyes. His hands are still clutching Kyoya's shirt, but he looks composed, almost bored. Kyoya returns his gaze with hostility, but knows he wouldn't win a fight against Ryuga because he is taller and in a decidedly more advantageous position than Kyoya.

However, when nothing happens after a few moments, he realizes that this is just Ryuga's intimidation tactic and forcefully tears himself away, taking a few steps back from Ryuga.

He looks at Ryo, whose attention is on Ryuga, a disapproving twist at the corners of his mouth. "Is that your usual tactic for recruiting new bladers?" Ryo turns his attention back to Kyoya. "Because the tactic sucks."

Gingka laughs briefly and Ryo sighs, running a hand over his face, exhausted. "No," he says, rolling his eyes. "It's not our normal tactic. But we usually don't have such a hard time convincing new bladers to join us."

"That surprises me," Kyoya replies dryly which elicits a resigned smile from Ryo.

The problem I think is not with him, because there are millions of 'him' s, and not just "mysogynist"s, "violent", but millions of very intelligent, very hard working, crazy people who also feel the way he does, if Anything we should thank him for both being so succesful and also so weak in his peronality that his ego must feed on attention whilst accomplishing his goals.

If Andrew can so easily infiltrate the mind's of boys, well if boys had role models, had real guidance, were listened to more, and talked to more, then the problem would not be so insanely acute as it is today, it even caught me by surprised cos I don't use tiktok, I'm living outside of that realm.

(but obviously all children in the u.k especially in school are being neglected, girls and boys, so probably a female andrew tate could swoop in too, cos theyre all neglected)

And by banning Andrew, there will just be someone else who will fill in the void, but it's not that simple because first of all what's done is done, but second of all, if someone doesn't fill it, or does, the reasons why boys, and men quite frankly, fall for this, the reasons are still there. They are real reasons, they make us uncomfortable, but they are here.

Furthermore, Andrew has been wealthy for a while, but he became rich only when he blew up, before that he was very wealthy, and then he became rich, and perhaps now very rich, but he lies, and pretends like he was already very rich , and now he is super rich. He is a scammer, he is not a psychopath.

He also has exposed the delusions of certain people as well, which is always interesting, for example to draw a comprable comparision, with milo yanakulas or howver you spell his name, people called him a racist, homophobic blabla whilst at that time he was flaming gay with a black boyfriend, and is half jewish... very strange

tate got the same treatment, he is half black.. and definitely he is not homophobic or any of these fabrications. but these people who fall into that category of delusion, it's set of things, not one thing and another maybe, it's all of them applied to any of the people who hit a nerve with them, a nerve in their brain that ought to be addressed.

China, lastly, Andrew Tate got the Alex Jones/Milo treatment he was banned from everything, twitter got him back, but tiktok banned him too, yet he is still everywhere apparently, especially on tiktok which is where he got famous from, an app used mostly by kids, alot of kids, and owned by a chinese company under the wings of the CCP, now I have nothing against CHina, or even the CCP in many ways, so I am not actually making any political points at all in this whole thing, this is completely apolitical, I think they are loving the fact that Tate is doing this, I'm sure it would never work over there even if you removed the ccp and gave all of the chinese the freedom to surf the web uncontrolled (which i know it is debatable what we have), so they probably are still pushing the algorithms to promote his stuff.

Im convinced of it, but it's just a strong suspicion I have, facebook does similar stuff, and twitter did similar stuff, so again not making a case of it being deifferent, only that China is literaly our only competitor in the world who wants to one day be what america is today.

like i said in one my previous posts

i dont like kids

but i love my friend n i love her 3 kids. ive known her since i was 15 (we worked together) n i known her first daughter since she was 7yo (13yo now), her 2nd daughter since she was a few months old (5yo now), her son since he was a few months old (1yo now)

i HATE my friends boyfriend

her last ex and the father of her 2nd daughter (5yo) recently ODd n passed away

he was a bum of a father but he was still like family and he was her first love. like theyd known eachother their whole lives n been together since hs n only recently broke up like 4 years ago (shes 32)

she only got with her current bf 2 years ago

he is the most ARROGANT pos ive ever met

jealous of anybody and everybody

controlling

narcissistic

verbally and mentally abusive

when my friend found out her ex died, obviously she was upset. not only cause he was still like family, but hell never have a chance to get to know his daughter. it sucks even more cause he WAS trying to get better. hed been clean for about 6-7 months, had a job. but ended up relapsing n it was his last time (he wasnt allowed to see his daughter unless he was at l e a s t 1 year clean n had a job n he only relapsed cause his recent ex got out of jail and started shit with him)

and instead of COMFORTING my friend, he starts screaming at her and talking shit about her ex and telling her shes not allowed to be sad about it and that shes not allowed to go to the funeral and accusing her of still having feeling for him and saying she loves her ex more than him (EVEN THO HES FUCKING DEAD NOW SO WHY TF WOULD THAT MATTER)

and during all this, her 5 YEAR OLD daughter comes in to see whats happening

and he turns his anger onto HER

and starts screaming at her "YOUR DADS DEAD. YOUR DAD FINALLY DID THE WORLD A FAVOR AND KILLED HIMSELF LIKE THE COWARD HE IS"

TO A FUCKING 5 YO LITTLE GIRL

SHE DOESNT EVEN KNOW HER DAD CAUSE SHE HASNT SEEN HIM SINCE SHE WAS A YEAR OLD

so she starts crying cause she doesnt even know whats going on or what that even means cause shes fucking 5

AND ALL THIS W H I L E MY FRIEND WAS STILL ON THE PHONE WITH HER OWN FATHER WHO WAS THE ONE WHO CALLED TO TELL HER THAT HED PASSED AWAY

i hate him

the only reason she hasnt left him is because of the son they have together n she doesnt want him to get custody of their son

theyre trying to buy a house together

but shes tryin to figure out a way to get the house put in her name so that as soon as they get it, shes able to leave him and having a house of her own will give her a better chance of keeping custody of her son

i wish i could help her

cause i would

like i aint good with babies so i dont think i could watch her son

but id be happy to watch her daughters if she ever needed me to

im not great with kids in general but id do my best if she ever needed it

theyre p much like family to me

my friends like n older sister to me n her kids are like my nieces n nephew

i dont want any of them to be stuck in such a toxic ass environment

my friend n i both had to deal with that growing up n those kids deserve better than that

#feel free to ignore! i just wanna put this down somewhere before i forget it #ive been messing with the idea of an au the story of the two games is pretty much untouched (aside from it including my s/i n ocs)#so everyone dies excluding heat he just has a near death experience thats why hes still around druing the last area of the second game #my s/i n maybe spike too end up in the *real* world tho they never find the others but theyre taken in by what remains of r/olands people #either during the last area of the game or a little while after my s/i still has a gaping hole in her chest so her n spike are in the #medical area when heats brought in hes in a critical condition n the medical staff dont know if hell make it or not #spike n my s/i stay with him since hes theyre only remaining comrade thered probably be some kind of friction between heat n fred i think #fred would blame heat for the others dying n even tho heat does say he didnt regret anything i think that it does eventually build up n he #feels guilty that his comrades arent here anymore fred does grow out of hating heat n blaming him but heat doesnt get passed it #obviously at some point heat n my s/i get together still have to figure out how #still unsure if heat n spike get to keep their demon forms #at some point a few years later they find the reincarnated versions of their tribe theyre all orphans at the orphanage fred ends up working #heat feels both relief n guilt towards them but ends up adopting the lot of them so him n my s/i end up with 8 kids lol #i need a tag so i can find this again later #real world au #maybe?#heat #my cannibal husband #shut up rattie no one gives a shit lol
