diluc ragnvindr ★↷
diluc, on the outside, was seen as the rather perfect lover. someone you could easily take home to parents and they would be so impressed, someone who is a classic romantic always aiming to sweep you off your feet.
and while he could be like that sometimes, some rare moments that only and very few knew off made you scoff at any comments about how perfect of a lover he must be. afterall, arguments always tore holes in relationships if not dealt with properly.
normally diluc was attentive and was very good with arguments. you two normally wouldn't worry about them. but sometimes his work life balanced suffered and he brought home all anger he held and unleashed it on you.
this was when problems arised as you both knew he shouldn't do that to you. so when the argument reached a rather harsh point you took the situation into your own hands and left dawn winery. you would return to your residence until diluc calmed down and would properly talk to you.
he stewed in his anger for much longer than he preferred and when he started to calm down he went looking for you. he assumed you would still be in the manor, just elsewhere. but he couldn't find you. and his heart absolutely sunk when adeline informed him you had left ages ago.
he cursed himself for being so reckless and he no longer cared about anything else and knew he had to try and sort things out - hoping you would give him such an opportunity.
when you saw diluc on your doorstep you still had half a mind to ignore him but you knew that would get you nowhere and you would be lying to yourself if you said you didn't miss him. and as soon as you opened the door you could see the noticeable lift in his eyes upon seeing you again.
the silence was quickly swamped with diluc's profuse apologies and regrets. and while he was rambling away you found yourself compelled to crawl into his arms. and so you did. and as soon as you hugged him, and he hugged back immediately shutting up. he basked in the moment as told himself he would never do something like this again as he would be dammed that he should ever lose you.
adeptus xiao ★↷
anyone that ever knew the adepti would know he never understood feelings. in fact one could take a guess from looks alone and assume that he struggles with emotional intelligence. and going into a relationship you were well aware of this and thought you would never mind.
and for the most part you didn't. because after the first major argument you two had he quickly learned that if he wanted to keep what you two had he would have to try and learn. try and learn human emotions. which he very quickly did, while he didn't express them he became surprisingly good at reading yours in particular.
but that didn't mean petty arguments still arose. petty arguments that sometimes would push you over the edge. as sometimes it felt as if you were the only one fighting for this relationship.
sometimes seeing xiao arrive home with scratches and such worried you. while you knew that it was minor and probably did nothing - it did make your mind over exaggerate other scenarios. and when you expressed your concerns, he would brush you off.
and eventually he started arguing back, saying harsh comments that he didn't mean but that didn't stop him from saying them. you were rather shocked it got to this so you left. and the minute you disappeared from his line of vision he panicked.
he realised his mistakes. and he knew he would have to own up to them. he was rarely used to people truly caring for him and when they did he lost them. and so he immediately set out to find you and when he did you were still fuming but to him, atleast you were safe.
he tried to apologize but he struggled deeply to find the right words to express how he truly felt. but seeing him try made you calm down - you knew he was trying his hardest. and you calmed down enough to head back with him and try talk it over properly again.
kaedehara kazuha ★↷
arguments were a rare occurrence with kazuha. he was very rational when it came to it but also did try and avoid getting to the point of an argument with you. but he knew some where unavoidable and that's why he would want to solve them as quick as possible.
most arguments did stem from mistakes. more commonly kazuha being swayed into drinking quite a bit with beidou. now she ment no harm by getting him to enjoy himself with the crew, but in that state he did start saying things he never meant.
so when you were trying to get him to bed as everyone else on the crux had retired for that night, he proved to be rather difficult. so much so that he started hurling insults your way. you knew he meant nothing by it but it still hurt.
and eventually you needed a minute or two to yourself. a few minutes turned into a couple of hours as you decided maybe he needed some space and eventually you drifted to sleep in the spare room on the crux that beidou originally gave you.
waking up the next morning, kazuha had a rather annoying headache but immediately noticed you weren't beside him. and then everything came flooding back to him and guilt consumed him whole. stepping out his room he realised how early it actually was so decided to look for you as silently as possible.
and when he found you in the spare room the guilt seemed to increase. he didn't want to wake you but he wanted to apologize. so he settled for sliding into bed next to you before apologizing even if you couldn't hear as he wrapped his arms around you. this way when you woke, he could sort it out with you.
tighnari ★↷
some may call tighnari stubborn and in retaliation he would just say he was dedicated to his work. and both of those were true. you were well aware that his work often stressed him out and he became very stubborn. and rightfully you didn't like it when he brought it home.
especially after you had a difficult day. wanting to see your boyfriend after a long day just to find him taking his anger out on you for a simple question. you only asked him a simple 'how was your day?' and it seemed as though he hated you.
and so you started retaliating his behaviour in the same way. forming a rather difficult argument. so much so that tighnari said a particularly harsh comment before storming out of your shared residence. you practically scoffed before deciding you had enough and wanted just to go to bed.
tighnari hardly got far before the argument registered in his mind. his ears flattening against his head as he felt regret. but another issue was that he wasn't that great with emotions, so he silently feared that he would make it worse should he do the right thing and turn back to apologize.
but he knew that should he let it last, it would only break the relationship more. so he turned and headed back to apologize. and when he arrived he caught you heading to bed. but it appeared you had no intentions on sleeping with him. and this made his ears and tail sink even further.
and before he knew it apology after apology spilt from his lips. you stared at him and you could feel him pull at your heart strings but you knew should he not learn, this would be a recurring problem. so you gave him a hug and returned to the couch. and he understood.
you two would talk it over in the morning but tighnari barely slept as your missing presence really disturbed his sleep. so much so that in the middle of the night he managed to settle next to you on the couch and almost immediately fell asleep.
freminet ★↷
to many people, they knew freminet was rarely expressive. and even from a distance it didn't take much to figure out that he struggled to express emotions. you knew this going into the relationship and you knew you would have to be patient with him.
but seemingly because of your relationship, he did make an effort to try and get better at expressing emotions. after all communication in different ways is very important. so he knew that this would be a weak point in the relationship but so did you.
and you always told him that he didn't have to try and learn as you couls help him figure it out along the way. but that being said, arguments were very rare. and when they occured they were very different to other arguments.
whenever an argument happened they were always ovee small insignificant reasons. and each time freminet went into this isolated state. he blocked out everything around him and ignored you, secretly hoping the issue went away but this time all it achieved was you going away.
you couldn't help but feel slightly bad for leaving so abruptly but you truly did need time to calm down. and if anything him ignoring you was worse than him arguing back. but freminet had panicked when you left and immediately wanted to find you and apologize.
and you barely heard him until you felt his arms wrap around your midsection as he apologized. and you knew how hard he was trying so you awkwardly shuffled in his grip to return the embrace. you two stayed like taht a little while longer as then you two could properly talk it over.
dottore ★↷
dottore was quite honestly far from being the perfect lover. and to many from the outside they would fear for the people daring enough to be in a relationship with him. but you knew differently. sure he had a very different way of showing affection but maybe you preferred it that way.
and he was a rather rational man - more so when it came to you. so arguments were rare and often dealt with swiftly. but for all the knowledge he had he was very inexperienced in emotional intelligence. so often could be stubborn or dissmissive of your feelings.
a common argument for you two was his work. not so much the fatui part, but the fact that he would most of the time choose to spend all his time in the lab for days on end without speaking to you. rightfully, this made you mad and for a while his segments did dampen this.
but you wanted to see your actual lover not his clones. and eventually he kept needing more and more in the lab. so you decided that if he wasn't going to acknowledge you, you weren't going to acknowledge him. so from the minute you next saw him, you ignored him.
he had little time for your antics. his experiment didn't go anywhere near how he wanted it to go and he did want to see you but now you were ignoring him. ao his already thin patience ram thinner and he eventually made the snide comment about your so called 'childish' behaviour. and eventually an argument ensued.
you had enough of him and left. atleast his segments had more emotional sense than he did. and it was one if the older segments that convinced him to apologize to you. so when he saught you out and found you he immediately dissmissed any segments you found company with.
you still ignored him up until you heard him apologize. you had half a mind to tease him but you knew how hard he struggled with stuff like this so you let him continue. he rambled on and on about how he promised he wouldn't do it again and how sorry he was. and eventually, very reluctantly, he opened his arms as if asking for a hug.
and you felt compelled to agree. you stayed in his embrace as he made his final promise. he soon came to realise actually how much you meant to him and you better believe him that he would do anything to keep you happy with him.

Xiao
Nights like these were common for you and Xiao. The two of you meet up on the roof of Wangshu Inn every night, catching up on whatever you missed in each other’s absence during the day. This is also the time when Xiao listens to his heart, and allows you to get closer to him. Even after you’ve spent so much time together, he still isn’t used to the flurries of affection you throw at him, and tonight was no different.
When you lovingly press your lips to the diamond on Xiao’s forehead mid-conversation, his mind goes entirely blank. Surprise reflects in his amber gaze, and a wave of gut wrenching emotion surges through him. It’s a mix of joy, confusion, and grief- almost as if he’s experiencing both his terrifying past and his peaceful present at the same time. He had been alone for so long, keeping himself away from humanity unless absolutely necessary, to avoid the risk of hurting anyone should he lose control. He knows things aren't like that anymore- not with you around. He loves you and you love him in return, but he can’t help but feel guilty for being able to experience such affection. After what he had done over the course of his past, after he had stained his hands with so much blood, how could he ever deserve love? He views himself as dangerous- as a monster, and deep down, he thinks you deserve so much better than him. He had voiced this to you before, but you just cupped his face in your hands and smiled sadly at him, whispering that you wished he would think better of himself and that you wouldn’t trade him for the world.
Xiao couldn’t begin to understand why you felt this way, but at the same time, he is eternally grateful to have you with him. Your presence soothes him and illuminates the darkness of his heart- even if it feels selfish, he can’t help but melt whenever your lips meet his forehead. Xiao closes his eyes, leaning into your touch, pushing his spiral of insecurity to the side for now. When you pull away and look at him with your shining, lovestruck eyes, he can’t help but flush and move closer to you. His hand comes to rest on your cheek as his forehead comes to rest gently on your own. The world seems to stand still as you make eye contact, your lips only inches away from his. Xiao’s shoulders relax and the intolerable screams of dying demons he usually grapples with fade into serene silence. The Yaksha’s touch is careful and light, and his expression displays how deeply he longs to stay in this moment for as long as possible. However, he knows well that this desire is nothing but an empty fantasy, rendered impossible at the hands of time. Soon, danger and duty would cruelly pierce through the veil of peace, tearing you away from each other. So Xiao holds you and leans further into your warmth, cherishing the moment before it slips away once more.
Tumblr media
Welt
Welt is a kind, tired old soul. He’s been through a lot, he’s seen a lot, and he’s lost a lot- two examples being his old friends and his home planet. He knows how quickly a once peaceful life can fade due to the dangers of the universe, and he knows how irreplaceable loved ones are. Unfortunately, he learned that the hard way. So, he wastes no time in showing you how precious you are to him. Luckily, you accept his displays of affection with excitement and return it back tenfold.
The two of you are going about your regular duties on the express when you catch Welt’s eye from across the train car. No one else is around, so you sidle over to him, trying not to be too obvious. Welt gives you a side eye as you do this, not knowing what to expect from the cheeky grin that’s making its way across your face. Only a minute later, Welt feels your presence next to him, and he swears that the smile you have plastered on is contagious. His own lips quirk up into a smile, and before he knows it, your body is pressed up against his, your arms constricting around him like there's no tomorrow. He lets out a sigh of endearment, his own arms gently moving to envelop you. Honestly, what was he going to do with you?
However, his infatuation quickly changes to confusion as you pull away slightly and rest your hands on his shoulders. You raise yourself a bit, attempting to reach his forehead, brows furrowing slightly in frustration due to his height. Soon enough, you manage to reach his forehead and your lips quickly make gentle contact with his skin. Welt chuckles softly, moving his hands to your waist, pulling you against him a second time. A massive grin breaks out on his face, and you swear you’ve never seen him happier in your life. Welt then cups your face and drowns you in a flurry of kisses, his own cheeks flushing profusely as he watches you become more and more flustered. The sounds of lovestruck giggles and playful remarks bounce off the walls of the train car, hours passing before the two of you remember your duties. Undoubtedly, the whole exchange ends with Welt fondly clinging to you with one of his hands carding through your hair, work entirely forgotten, as you wait for the rest of the crew to return.
Tumblr media
Kafka
As expected, Kafka loves to tease. Her demeanor is alluring, drawing people to her in both hatred and love. While most disapprove of her title as a Stellaron Hunter, you seem to be an exception. In fact, it’s become very clear to her that she’s got you eternally and willingly caught in her web. She watches your every movement with immense amusement, her gaze dark yet loving as you fall apart from the products of her captivating existence. Often, she was the one initiating affection through words and subtle touches, adoring the way you choke on your words and desperately fumble for a half-decent response. More often than not, these interactions result in bolder acts of physical affection. Whether that’s innocent acts like allowing Kafka to tilt your chin up to kiss you, or you quickly embracing her as a way to hide your hopelessly heated face, or acts that are more… risque, you love every second you get to spend with her. And although Kafka wears a mask of cold, calm deceit, you know that when it comes to you, she doesn’t think twice about showing how genuine her love is.
Even if Kafka was skilled in making you flustered, you had been itching to initiate something on your own for weeks. To watch her get thrown off balance instead of you, all because of something you had said or done- it seemed like an impossible fantasy. Yet you persist in building up your courage, determined to express your love for her and pay her back for all the times she set butterflies off in your stomach. So, you carefully mapped out how you would go about your initiation, knowing that you would have to surprise your beloved in order to elicit any kind of reaction. The next day, you keep your eyes peeled for a moment when she’s idle and unaware of your presence. You manage to catch her while she’s reading, legs crossed casually as she sinks into the cushioning of her chair, eyes glinting with amusement at the book’s contents. Quietly, you enter the room, seemingly ignoring her- that is, until you reach her chair and swoop down to kiss her forehead before she can say anything. Afterward, you turn away and speed walk out of the room, internally reveling in the surprise that overtook Kafka’s features. Her eyes shot open wide, lips slightly parted, eyebrows raised. However, in your absence after the kiss, you didn’t see the fierce blush that spread over Kafka’s cheeks or hear the lovestruck giggle that involuntarily escaped her lips. And you definitely didn’t find out about Silverwolf walking in a few minutes later, only to find the woman folded over in her chair with her face in her hands, giggling like a schoolgirl and entirely refusing to look up. You had caused the most calm Stellaron Hunter to break her collected facade for once, which was incredibly hard to do. After making her feel so lovestruck, there’s no way she could just leave you alone. She would have to get back at you somehow- expect nothing less than to be smothered with her love over the next few days.
Tumblr media
Wanderer/Scaramouche
Scaramouche had been going about his day as normal, bored out of his mind, desperately trying to find something interesting to do while vivid thoughts of you plagued his mind. Nahida had attempted to immerse him in different human activities, yet none of them seemed to take- he was either pretty bad at them, or he just gave up on them because he lost interest. Even the few battles he encountered during his day weren’t enough to take his mind off your absence. Needless to say, when you arrive home he’s all over you, trying to hide his longing for you behind a false mask of annoyance. But you can see right through him, adoration reflecting in your eyes as you quickly grab his face and press a firm kiss to his forehead. As you do so, a confused protest escapes his throat, the poor man startled by your sudden loving gesture. Afterward, you take his hand and drag him further into Sumeru to go get some food, but Scaramouche’s mind is entirely elsewhere. His pace is much slower than yours, making it slightly hard to lead him into the city, but he really can’t help it. Even now, even after the two of you have known each other for so long, you still manage to surprise him. He shields his face with one hand to hide his reddening cheeks and uses the other to tether you to him, picking up his pace so that you’re the one who’s being pulled. The giggle that this elicits from you doesn’t help either, as it only causes the butterflies in his stomach to burst even more.
After all, Scara wasn’t used to this. All his life, he’s been alone- always being left behind, always being used. He had become so accustomed to the feeling of anger and resentment that he didn’t realize how lonely he had indeed become. After he had the Electro Gnosis taken from him and his identity erased from Irminsul, his anger morphed into an overwhelming feeling of emptiness. Sure, erasing himself gave him a second chance at life, but his own loss of identity left him feeling void of any purpose or desire. That quickly changed when you were introduced to him though. As time went on, as he got to know you better, the void in his chest slowly became filled with the undying urge to protect you. The puppet didn’t understand what these emotions were or why he felt like this, but that didn’t matter to him. As long as you were safe, as long as he got to see your smile at the end of the day, he would be content. As you both reach your destination, Scara turns back to look at you, his heart immediately starting to hammer in his chest. You were beaming at him, a playful glint in your eyes- it was painfully clear that you were about to start teasing him for getting so flustered. Before you can say anything, Scaramouche gently takes your face in his hands and kisses you, gaze hopelessly soft. His gentle expression then turns into a devious smirk, amused by the way your eyes widen, entirely unsure of what to say. Now he can see the appeal of surprise kisses, and he’ll definitely be using them more often if this is the reaction he’ll get.
Tumblr media
Kaveh
Kaveh cares for you more than anyone else. His passion for you is immense, so much so that it makes his passion for architecture pale in comparison- which is saying a lot because he loves architecture. In fact, it was practically his life until he met you, (aside from bickering with Alhaitham), and in his eyes, you're the greatest work of art to ever exist. Even the glistening walls and windows of the Palace of Alcazarzaray couldn’t match your glory. His genuine admiration for you often makes it hard for him to communicate how he feels- only one look is enough to get him red faced and stuttering. He does try though, he tries incredibly hard, but it just doesn’t work. The architect is constantly fighting with his own mind, wanting to spill out every ounce of love he’s feeling but not wanting to say the wrong thing. This internal conflict only intensifies during big projects, when all he can think of is you. He doesn’t get to see you often during these periods of time, which only makes him long for you more. So, when you pass by his desk, leaning over to see what he’s working on, you can imagine how deeply sidetracked he gets. When you ask what he’s doing, he starts explaining the details of the project, but quickly trails off as he sees the gentle smile on your face. Oh archons, you’re stunning, he thinks, fighting to find his words once more.
When he does, he quickly finishes his explanation, clearing his throat to try and cover up how deeply flustered he is. You nod and raise your eyebrows, impressed by his ambition and talent. Needing to get on with your own work, you wish him luck, brushing his bangs back and kissing him delicately on the forehead. Kaveh’s face explodes with red and suddenly he feels like the room is far too hot. He fans himself off with his hands, attempting to focus, but the feeling of your lips on his skin keeps replaying in his head. His thoughts are scattered all over the place, each stream of thought overlapping to become an insufferable cacophony of noise and feelings, to the point where he just can't take it anymore. Throwing his pencil down, Kaveh quickly gets up from his seat and somewhat aggressively hurries into the other room, where he finds you sitting on the couch, peacefully flipping through a book. He takes your hand, pulling you up toward his chest. His arms wrap around you tightly and he buries his face into your neck, your confused exclamations completely unheard by him. The architect’s resolve to continue working shatters as soon as you hug him back, his attitude clearly indicating that he doesn’t plan on letting go of you any time soon- not that you mind, of course.
Tumblr media
Blade
Blade doesn’t understand why you like him so much. He doesn’t understand you, and how you keep going despite everything you’ve been through already. Though he doesn’t openly show his admiration for you, it's definitely there, despite the cold expression on his face. If you look just closely enough, you can see the way his gaze softens slightly whenever you enter the same room as him. You take this as permission for you to get near him and a confirmation that you aren’t being a burden by physically displaying your fondness for him. One way you show your infatuation with him is by patching him up after missions or fights, and unsurprisingly, he doesn’t understand why you do this either. He can heal himself for the most part, so why would you go through the trouble? Despite his lack of comprehension, he never fights back. The feeling of your gentle, loving hands on his skin soothes him, even if he has an abundance of painful gashes all over his body. The feeling of your lips on each of his wounds after you’ve tended to them is enough to get his heart beating faster, which is something that he thought was impossible to achieve.
Each time, just before you finish patching him up, you take his face in your hands, so carefully that you may as well be handling porcelain. From there, you guide his head slightly forward to almost meet your lips. Blade closes his eyes, his bandaged hand lifting to rest on top of one of your own, wanting to keep your warmth on his skin for as long as possible. A relaxed exhale slips past his lips as the tension in his shoulders deflates. When you finally press your lips to the soft expanse of Blade’s forehead, you can feel his hand start to shake slightly, his brows furrowing in confusion. You pull away, smiling warmly at him, washing away any confusion or sadness that lingers in his gaze. Your eyes meet and Blade’s mind becomes consumed by your touch. It’s been centuries since he’s felt this way- since he’s felt safe, since he’s felt like he has a home. Blade moves back, pulling you forward and into his lap. His hands carefully support your back, your chest pressing against him tightly while your head falls onto his shoulder. His breathing syncs up with yours as you shift to shyly return his embrace. Blade’s lips upturn into a small smile as you gently chastise him for moving so suddenly, warning that it may reopen his wounds. His chest grows tight in appreciation, his love for you growing with every breath he takes. No matter what tomorrow may bring, no matter how much pain he must endure, he knows it will all be alright as long as you’re safe.

I think I've seen this a trillion times on tiktok but I genuinely need a ff written about it... Y know how xiao tells us to call him whenever we need right, how about he's away with some business (fighting demons, meeting zhongli and what not) and we kinda.. Miss him... We miss him a lot. So as we do our thing ✨ we moan his name a bunch of times, he would be so blushy and cute <3
- side note: may I be 🌠 anon?
Xiao x reader ;; readers pronouns not mentioned
SMUT/NSFW CONTENT (afab reader, masturbation / touching yourself, Xiao going down on you)
A/n: OHHH yeah, I've written something similar to this before!!! The idea is so nice though, he appears in your room and he's flabbergasted?? Flustered?? Ahhh... lovely. And YES you can be 🌠 anon, WELCOME WELCOME <3 /not proofread so sorry if any mistakes
Tumblr media
Minor writer, dni if uncomfortable!
Tumblr media
You missed him alright. Yes, you knew he was definitely busy, but man.. you hadn't seen him on such a long time. Or gotten his touch.
Xiao did tell you that you can call his name whenever you needed him though.. and you technically did need him right now..
As you're trying to please yourself on your sheets, his name falls past your lips multiple times. Imagining how he'd bite you, how you'd kiss him so sweet... trying to get off from the thought of him.
Somewhere in Liyue, Xiao has finished dealing with monsters. Immediate worry in his mind when he hears the calls of his name from a familiar voice.
From you.
Doesn't hesitate to appear where you are, drawing his weapon. He scans the area, confused on how it's in one of the rooms in Wangshu Inn.
But once he turns around, he's met with a sight.
Sight of you on the bed, legs spread, hand between them and face flushed. His eyes widen in quick realization.
Oh.
"Xiao-!" You stop your movements, staring back at him. Well, yes, this is what you wanted, but you couldn't deny that it was also pretty awkward.
His face is heating up as he's trying to breathe. You're calling his name? While touching yourself?
He breathes in deep when he quickly comes closer to you, getting on that bed. Will you let him? Let him help you? You did call for him after all.
You're blinking at him while he positions himself between your thighs.
"Can I—" Xiao starts to speak, but stops, watching as you spread your legs a little more, making him break eye contact.
"Yes," you whisper, answering his unfinished question, "Please."
He does not waste any time, taking off one of his gloves and shoving fingers inside you. Oh, you're this needy? For him? From him?
Xiao looks at you for a moment before leaning down and putting his tongue against you. He's quick to get to work, that's one. Your head falls back as a high moan escapes you.
Archons, you missed him. And it looks like he missed you too, from the pace of his tongue and his fingers. His eyes get hazy the more you moan and squirm from him.
Oh, he needed the taste of you right now. And you needed his tongue. <3

JEALOUS GIRL ! ; xiao > your boyfriend is kind of a hit at this party.
Tumblr media
he didn't want to be here in the first place.
he’d told you so. he really did. multiple times. quite clearly, he remembers declining your offer to join you at a classmate’s birthday party. and then he remembers you asking again. and him saying no, again. and then once more. xiao thinks it’s really very stupid of you, honestly, because at this point you should’ve known he would be going anyways.
he’s regretting it now, though. you’re the only person he knows here, aside from your few close friends which he’s met. that, and he recognises names, being thrown out around him— ones he remembers from your gossip and stories. he doesn’t go to your school, but at this point he might as well know all the people there.
and, as it seems, they might know him, too.
“no way. that’s the boyfriend?” a girl whispers rather loudly to her friend, not-so-subtlety pointing her red solo cup at xiao. he’s standing awkwardly against a wall, hands in pockets, waiting for you to come back after going to say hi to a friend you haven’t seen in a while. and based on what he’s noticed, he’s attracted a fair amount of unsolicited attention.
“who is he?” a brunette with too much lip filler squawks.
“he’s kind of…” a black-haired girl with bad hair and even worse bangs breaks off into giggles.
he observes, impassively watching as more and more people turn to look at him. until one brave soul even dares to push through the crowd and beam at him, unconcealed, unashamed.
she smells, he thinks, like too much perfume. not the kind that you can layer, either, the kind that just gets too extraordinarily strong when piled on top of itself. probably to cover up body odor or something. her grin is a little too much for him. he misses how you smell, how you smile, and he takes a step to the side to get a little further away from the approacher.
“hey,” she greets, not taking the hint, “i’ve never seen you around here before.” xiao grimaces. it’s apparent that she’s forcing her voice to sound raspier and lower than it should be. she sounds stupid. but he thinks you’d be a little bit upset if he said it out loud so he just replies stiffly:
“i don’t go to your school.”
she ‘oohs’ in acknowledgement and shuffles a little closer. he takes another step to the side. “what school, then? and what brings you here? you look all sad and lonely, here in the corner—“
her sentence is punctuated by an invasive hand on his shoulder. the smell is worse, somehow. he bats her hand away, about to open his mouth to bite back when a familiar face bursts through the crowd, looking a little more than just upset.
it’s you. he knows that even before he sees you, even before you speak. your friends tail awkwardly behind you and the new girl is watching with widened eyes as she tries to see what xiao is looking at.
“xiao,” you greet, but it sounds more like an announcement, “baby. did you miss me?”
he raises a brow at your theatrics. he reads you a little too easily— how your movements were stiff and guarded, how you were postured to face the new girl, how your eye twitched a little and your smile was so tightly plastered onto your face when you looked at her.
he decides to entertain your antics. “uh-huh. just so much.”
xiao sounds a little monotone but his reciprocal response works successfully to cow the girl away, because she scampers off into the crowd again, like a little sewer rat. she smelled like one, too, he thinks, as your arms are suddenly draped around his neck. he breathes it in, letting the smell of the perfume he bought you take over his senses. sweet, but not too sweet. he thinks it suits you best.
your friends are laughing in the background and it’s almost like nothing has happened. but your grip is a little tight and possessive, and he’s a little endeared by you. “she’s gone, you know, idiot.”
your head lifts from the crook of his neck to look at him. he feels his gaze soften, just a little. the crowd has stopped staring but still, for him, it’s just the two of you in the room.
“but everyone else is still here.” you sound a little meek and nowhere near as bold as you were a minute ago. again, he knows you too well to not see it— you were embarrassed of your own envy.
“what’s wrong with everyone else?”
you look serious when you say, “they’re all looking at you. too much, i think.”
a grin splinters his face. it’s a rare sight to everyone but you. a hand, cold, cold, cold like stone finds its way to yours. “i told you we shouldn’t have come.”
sighing, you relent, letting him lead you to the door. “maybe you’re right.”
“i’m always right.”
“that’s a little far,” you retort as he opens the house door for you. with a knowing half-smile, he watches as the wind blows your hair every which way, like a movie star. you’re so beautiful, he thinks, most beautiful thing alive.
xiao thinks you’re a little jealous sometimes. but really, you’ve got nothing to worry about— he only has eyes for you.

hiii ari! this is leman speaking! i put some thought into this one along with neso (she’s xiao’s certified lover /srs) and we like the detail where he doesn’t like eating in front of people, he prefers eating alone, it’s cute despite the slight angst potential.
anyways, requesting a drabble of xiao eating with/ in front of his lover for the first time?! it can be full fluff or fluff with angsty undertones, whichever, as long as there’s sweetness to it! <33

A/N: Thank you so much for requesting, leman!! I know you requested a drabble, but as you can see I went..very overboard.😅 I had a lot of trouble wrapping up the drabble I initially made so I said fuck it and made whatever this is. 'Hope you and Neso don't mind too much! ( Also sorry this took so long to complete! )

Orangish rays mix with the purple-tinted clouds and the blush in between them, giving off the illusion of the familiar evening sky through the glassless window of your kitchen.
The rich smell of spices accompany the crackling of the stove and the tune that slips from your damp lips in the form of a smooth, thin hum. Your eyes drift between the food that sizzles on the stove and the beautifully crafted archway that leads to the large balcony of Wangshu Inn.
Dinner time was once again approaching and Xiao has yet to return. Not that it was common for him to be home in the first place. With danger always lurking about somewhere and your fiancé being none other than the Conqueror of Demons himself, being home in time for dinner was a rare occurrence..
Despite this, you always set his plate aside for when he finally comes home; usually at the dead of night when you're fast asleep in bed.
A particularly loud pop from the stove steals your attention, stilling your thoughts as you forced your attention away from the archway so that you can diminish the fire. It was only for a brief moment, no more than a few seconds, and even then, he managed to sneak up on you.
"Wha-!" You jump when you turn and are immediately met with his piercing gaze. His golden eyes study you, silted pupils examining your face for a second before his lips, which were thinned out in a straight line just a moment ago, dip downward into a frown. Ruining the beauty of his features with it's ugly appearance.
"Don't look like that. I was just surprised," Your face relaxes and a soft smile appears on your face in hopes that it would convey the sincerity of your next words, "I'm glad you're home."
For a few moments, Xiao simply stares, face unchanging. He used to feel so uncomfortable whenever you smiled at him like that. It always felt so wrong seeing you so happy to see him. He felt like he didn't deserve such a lovely smile, especially from someone as pure as you..
But nowadays are different. Being around you as long as he has, he's grown..accustomed to this. Seeing you genuinely delighted at the mere mention of anything that involves him. Seeing you smile whenever he decides to make his presence known to you. Frowning whenever he said anything bad or degrading about himself in the past. He's grown comfortable with it all. Not entirely used to it yet, but not so uncomfortable that he wants to flee. In fact, lately he's been yearning to see your smile more and more..
It's all so strange, he thinks.
"Xiao," You call, your voice akin to a soothing melody. It carries him away from his thoughts as effortlessly as the feeling of your warm hand on his face, "I'm glad to see that you're safe."
A huff leaves his lips, "My safety shouldn't concern you. You should be worried about more important things," His tone was as harsh as ever and his words were as a cold as a steel blade. It only makes your smile widen.
"Silly, you are one of the things most important to me," You say. And oh, how he wishes to follow up with a self-degrading comment of how someone like him is undeserving of your worry. How he wishes he could say that you shouldn't speak such loving things to a monster like him who's stained his hands with the blood of countless enemies..
But he inevitably keeps his comments to himself. Although he deserves it, you aren't fond of him "bad-mouthing himself" or so you've said before. It's odd to him, but at this point, you've dedicated countless hours to helping him break this so called "habit" of his so he shouldn't insult that by speaking his mind.
"I didn't expect you home so early so I haven't made your dinner yet. I'll get to working on it right away!"
"There's no need for that. Adepti don't--"
"Nonsense! Everyone deserves a nice meal after a long day of work, especially you, Xiao," You brush off his attempts with a simple wave of your hand, "Since its been a while, I'll cook your favorite! Just let me go downstairs real quick and get some ingredients from Yanxiao first!" Xiao sighs.
Eventually you came back with the ingredients for the Almond Tofu. Xiao decided to stay and watch as you cooked—something he often did ever since you joked about how little time the two of you spent together because of how busy he always was—and as always, you talked his ears off about various things. As the evening yellows turned into starry blues through your window and as the fire made the stove crackle to life, Xiao listened intently, face neutral as you told him about your day.
"I think I'll take him up on the offer," You say, referring to Aether, who you managed to run into by chance at Liyue Harbor, "It's not often I get to travel to other nations anymore. I think it would be a nice change of pace. What do you think?"
"If the traveler is the one accompanying you, there's little to worry about. I don't have any objections."
You giggle, "I didn't think you would. ..So I guess this settle things. ..Hm, I can't wait to see the hydro nation for myself. ..Oh! But don't worry, I'll make sure to bring back lots of souvenirs. I heard Fontaine has some great desserts so I'll definitely make sure to bring some back! Heh, although I can't promise it'll make the entire journey back home."
"There's no need to do that. Any form of gift is useless to me and'll only be ruined by my hands as a result. The need to spend mora on me shouldn't be something that crosses your mind.."
Putting the final touches on the almond tofu, you grab it and walk towards him. The pleasant smells floating closer and becoming more potent the closer you get to him, "Even so, I'd feel bad if i just didn't get you anything. I mean, what kind of fiancé would I be if I didn't show that I was thinking of you while away?"
As you outstretch your hand to give him his food, Xiao briefly glances down, his pretty golden gems eyeing the plate for a moment before raising his hand to grab it. It's swift, and it's only after he takes the plate from you that he speaks again, "You don't need to prove anything to me. You make your fondness of me clear enough as is. Just enjoy your trip and I'd be happy.."
After that, there's a silence that fills the room. Usually you wouldn't mind it, but today you seemed confused. Xiao was still here. It's routine of him to soon disappear after you handed off his food if you were awake to give it to him, but this time was different. This time he's stayed, mostly unmoving and looking at you with his eyes flickering with something undescribable. How odd.
"Xiao?" You call, "Is there something you want to tell me?"
"No, why do you ask?"
"Well, you usually don't stick around like this— Ah, not that I'm complaining!" Your hands shoot up like a defense mechanism triggering as you swing them around in a slight panic, "I just assumed you wanted to ask or tell me something before you left and..yeah.."
Silence fills the room once again and for a moment, you thought he'd just end up vanishing like he usually did when he didn't feel like answering questions. That never happened however, and when he finally answered you, he spoke in a tone that you haven't heard since the day you conveyed your feelings to him for the first time all those years ago..
"Bosacius and Indarias were always more fond to human customs like this," He began, his voice low as he recalled the memory with a forgone look in his eyes, "Bosacius especially liked to eat in the company of others. He found great joy in it despite having no need to partake in such an activity. He claimed that even the worst of foods tasted delicious when he had someone to feast with him. I..never took part or humored him in the past. I saw no reason to, but now that the centuries have passed and I have you, I'd..like to try it out.."
"You.." You mumble, eyes wide with innocent shock evident in your voice and on your face, "You want to..eat dinner with me?"
"Do you not want to?" His brows crease and his once neutral expression scrunches into one that's more foreign to you—hesitance, "If it's not something you wish to do with me, I understand."
"No, no!" You shake your head aggressively quick to the point Xiao fears it'll just spin right off your shoulders, "I- I don't mind! Not at all! I'm really happy you decided to come to me about this and..! L- Lemme just— Hold on," As if you were being timed by a clock and were running out of time, you run over to the counter and grab your plate of grilled tiger fish before returning back to Xiao in record time.
"Let's eat on the balcony- Uh! Only if you want to that is! If you'd prefer to eat here we can! I don't want you to think I'm trying to force you or anything—!"
"I'm fine with eating on the balcony," He replies rather simply, cutting your spiraling short. You open your mouth to reply with some simple response but inevitably decide to grab his hand and led him outside instead, fearing you'll have a repeat of what just happened.
Sitting along the wooden railing, your eyes subconsciously drift to your lover, who seemed to be looking at you with expectant eyes. Normally, you wouldn't mind it all that much—heh, if anything you'd be overjoyed to have his attention like this—but today, it just makes you feel..anxious.
Your eyes glance away and you play it off as if you were just admiring the scenery around you, which isn't much to look at since you decided it was a smart idea to sit back against the balcony railing, which left you to stare at the decorum of the entranceway that led back inside the inn.
Why are you so nervous anyways? Over the years, you've done things with Xiao that are wayyyy more intimate than this. You've kissed him, been vulnerable in front him—hell, you were even naked in front of him one time! ( It was purely on accident, but still! ) Eating with him isn't a big deal!
..Oh, who are you fooling? This is a big no—huge deal. For you, for him.. Although to others, one would find it silly to make such a big fuss over something like this; but to you, this can easily be marked as one of the most intimate moments of your life. With the wind picking up, blowing it's quiet tune in your ear and through your hair, the birds that rest atop the Wangshuu Inn flapping their wings at one another and chirping happily, and the most beautiful person in the world sitting before you—who feels safe enough to do this with you and only you—yep, this is ten times more romantic than any date he's ever took you on. ( Which says a lot because although he doesn't take you out often, dates with Xiao are always unforgettable experiences )
A breath leaves your lips and at last, your smile returns to your face and your courage returns, allowing yourself to gaze at him again. Xiao notices the change and physically relaxes at the sight. He notices that as well, it felt odd to be so at ease—almost uncomfortable—but he has little time to dwell on the feeling before you begin speaking.
"I ran into that Wushou Dancer I was telling you about. He was so polite, he even volunteered to push my cart from Qingce Village all the way back here to the Inn," As you spoke, you stuff some food in your mouth; only taking a small break from talking to chew before continuing, "I felt so bad that I ended up offering to make him dinner, but he declined!"
"Oh! I also saw Lady Xianyun at the marketplace a few days ago! She was buying so many trinkets, I feared she'd buy up everything that was offered there, hehehe~!"
As you rambled on, hopping from one story to the next, Xiao took his chopsticks in hand and picked up some tofu. He slide it into his mouth and the flavor hits his tongue with so much force, he couldn't help the way his eyes widened just a tad.
Something seemed different about this. Usually the almond tofu was sweet and brought reminiscent memories of the dreams he used to devour in his hayday, but this seems more intense. Even more delightful.. As your laughter tickles his ears and he takes another bite, a feeling of security slowly overcomes his being. Is this what Bosacius and Indarias was so fond of? This gentle feeling of bliss? The peaceful sounds of Teyvat? The sound of the excited rambles of someone they were fond of? Is this the reason Bosacius always tried so hard to convince him to join them during meals and listen to his tales? It makes regrets begin to bubble inside of him at the thought..
"Xiao?" He blinks, did he really just..zone out? Huh, that's not something that happens often..
"Are you..alright?" You ask with slight hesitancy, "Was I talking too much? If you'd prefer to eat in silence, I don't mind."
"No," He says immediately, "Please, keep talking. Your voice is.." He pauses, trying to find the right word to describe this feeling you've given him, this feeling that has accompanied some of his fondest memories, "It's..comforting to listen to."
A golden smile stretches across your face as the last of your fear finally leaves you. Now, without holding anything back, your rambling continues with no sign of ending anytime soon. As the birds chirp away in the back and the sun very slowly sets behind you, Xiao continues to indulge in the meal you so eagerly made for him.
Hm, turns out Bosacius was right. No matter how heavenly the dish already is, a meal will always taste best in the company of someone you cherish.

When you block their kiss
You decide to play a prank on your partner and block their kiss to see their reaction
Xiao, Kazuha, Diluc, Thoma x gn!reader
Xiao isn’t the most physically intimate so when you decide to prank him the only time he’ll kiss you, he starts to second guess himself. Poor Xiao goes into overthinker mode thinking of all the things he could’ve done wrong or any reason you would be annoyed. “Y/N?” he says after a while of thinking. You hum and look up at him poor guy looks like he’s about to cry. “Are you mad at me?” Absolute guilt overcomes you. You get up to go hug and kiss him instantly. “I’m sorry, it was a prank Xiao.” He looks so confused but after a second he lets out a sigh of relief. “Don’t scare me like that, Y/N.” “Sorry, i’m sorry, I love you.” you best cuddle him the rest of the night.
Kazuha loves giving and receiving kisses, he loves seeing how flushed you get when he kisses you in public, or just when he gives you surprise kisses once in awhile. He also loves starting his day off with a kiss from you, it’s apart of his morning routine. Today, you decide to mess with him to see how he’ll react. He goes in for his morning kiss but you completely block it and hand him his morning tea. He looks down at the tea confused, slowly he grows a smirk. “So, what did I do this time, Y/N?” “Hm?” you go to turn to him when he’s suddenly right behind you, trapping you in between himself and the counter. “Why’d you block my kiss?” At this point you’re a blushing mess, covering your face with your hands. He moves your hands and goes to kiss you ofc he knows you won’t block it now. “Thank youu” He sings with a smile as he goes back to his tea.
Diluc’s always busy so he tends to kiss you any chance he gets. he had a later shift today so he was able to spend the morning with you before work. you two ate breakfast and watched a cute movie before he had to leave. at the door, he went to kiss you but you dodged him to get him his coat. “Here you go!” you say with a smile. he stands there stunned and confused. “Luc?” you snapped him back into reality. “Why did you block my kiss?” he’s usually very soft and gentle but he got pretty annoyed by your action. you giggle at his reaction and then kiss him. “Sorry Luc, just wanted to see how you’d react is all!” he smiles and kisses you again. “Don’t do it again” he says before dismissing himself for work.
Thoma is SUPER affectionate. he can’t go even an hour without kissing or hugging you, you have that boy wrapped around your finger. it’s cute, very cute in fact. but sometimes you just want to test his patience, test to what limits he’ll go to get a sliver of physical affection. from the moment you woke up you had one goal; to avoid any and all of thoma’s advances. Thoma usually wakes up earlier than you and wakes you up with kisses. nothing changed except you didn’t kiss thoma back this morning. the second you woke up you gave him a quick ‘good morning’ and went straight into the bathroom. he didn’t think much of it at first until breakfast, thoma cooked up your favorite breakfast meal and still nothing, not a hug, a kiss, nothing. thoma knew something was off and as much as he wanted to feel your warmth, he wanted to see how long you could keep this up. people around you thought you guys were going through a rough patch because of how little physical touch you two had today, but no. you just wanted to see if thoma would crack. so you spend all day waiting to see him crack. it isn’t until you two are back home that you realize thoma caught onto your game. he immediately went to bed without kissing you goodnight. your little game ended up backfiring on you and you were the one who cracked first. “Thomaaa, cmon i know you caught on, just give me a kiss alreadyyy” he chuckled at you, “So now you want a kiss? come here then.” you two end up cuddling and you promise you won’t play a trick like this on thoma again.

doc, i think she's crashin' out
Tumblr media
summary: he couldn’t stop death. so, death kindly stopped for you. and years later, he’s still picking up the pieces—one shard after another. but you, of all people, know that nothing heals a wound better than letting go. (simply, a bittersweet fic where you reincarnate into someone else’s body and watch your lover in anguish over your death).
→ pairings: diluc, & xiao
→ warnings: not properly proofread (may have tense issues), angst, character death (you), mentions of death, grief, bittersweet comfort, mentions of blood and wounds, trauma (about your death), gender-neutral reader (the use of she on the title is from a song quote called ‘epiphany by t.s’)
→ author’s note: hi, it’s me again. i was supposed to finish this weeks ago but i was exhausted from a fourteen hour flight and it took me a while to get my rhythm back. but here it is and i hope you enjoy it :> anyway, was planning to (maybe?) make a part two. like, what if they find out it’s you in that body. and what’d they would say or do. (yes, ayato was supposed to be in this but i switched him out to be included in a different angsty fic)
and credits to @wholelottaprompts for the angsty prompts!!
beware, lengthy post ahead! more under the cut!

#diluc:
it begins as a normal day. a typical, ordinary, day.
you clean the bed, eat breakfast with your beloved, greet the servants a ‘good morning’, kiss diluc's cheek goodbye, head to the market to shop, say ‘hello’ to a passing kaeya, smacking his shoulder in surprise when he teases you: (“shush! you're going to ruin the surprise!” you laugh).
so, how is it you're freezing? how is it you can't feel your legs? how is it possible to be bleeding out on the cold snow, one hand over your wound?
you don't know—it was such a beautiful day.
all you do know is the resounding pain from your abdomen. the feeling of blood sliding down your body. and the awareness of your inevitable end; all alone on the chilly ice.
you want it to stop. you scream, please make it stop.
but, no words fall out of your mouth.
only complete silence.
hours seem like days, before you hear the sound of boot steps—heavy and frantic, crunching on the snow.
someone comes for you. and you breathe a sigh of relief.
alone. you aren't going to die alone.
“you came,” you weep.
“always, my love.” diluc kneels beside you, placing a pressured hand on the fatal gash. “i’m right here, you're alright. you're going to be fine.”
he's lying.
you can tell.
you see it by the way his eyes moisten at the intensity of the wound. the way he squeezes his eyelids shut, hoping the tears don't fall. the way his eyebrows furrow in concentration, as if praying you don't see how terrified he is to lose you.
“forgive me,” he whispers. “please, forgive me.”
diluc twists, looking back, and you hear him scream. one so agonizing, so piercing. a shout for someone, for anybody, to please save you.
but you can barely think; you're too exhausted, too numb.
you squeeze his hand, “it's the end of the line for us, isn't it?”
“no—” he says, sucking breaths in between sobs. “—we have all the time in the world, darling.”
#after:
you wake up days later, in a warm bed.
the heat's almost too much to bear, so you shuffle all the bedsheets off your body. you sit up, and the sudden awareness hits.
i’m alive! your thoughts sing.
you can’t wait to see diluc! you can’t wait to hug him! you can’t wait to kiss him!
but, a surprised gasp escapes you.
because standing in front of you is a giant standing mirror. and a reflection, unlike your own, stares back at you.
you scream.
it takes two weeks to accept the new, well, you: a sickly child of a pair of gardeners who work at the ragnvindr estate. apparently, you were at the brink of death—wasting away from a bacterial infection you caught weeks ago—and survived.
you know the truth though. their child died. and you took over their body like some demon (why you come back as them? you have no idea).
funny. they're the same age as you (when you died).
so subtly, you try asking the couple about your previous body. i mean, who in their right minds will believe you reincarnated into their child's body? a fever dream, they may say.
but they greet you with clammy hands and wide eyes, begging never to mention that name ever again.
at least, never out loud. and not ever in the presence of the master. because everyone knows how miserable he is from the loss of his beloved.
four years had passed since the incident. yet, his wound still stings as if their death happened yesterday.
still, you want to see him. partly in disbelief and partly in fury.
after all these years he still longs for your presence.
oh, your sweet, sweet diluc.
and because how dare he continue to beat himself up over an accident he had no control over.
that's the last thing you want.
to hurt himself over the memory of you.
alas, the opportunity to see him comes.
the head maid summons you to work as a house servant for the mansion. this was your (the previous soul's) plan to work for the family, who has treated yours with such kindness (only cancelling because of your prior sickness).
so now, you're sweeping the dirt out of the second floor of the dull manor. dusting the windows, wiping the cabinets, scrubbing here and there.
sometimes, you glimpse a wandering shadow. one, whose eyes stare unseeingly—only brightening up upon seeing a covered old portrait of halcyon days.
a scene, you know so well.
a couple smiles at the painter, eyes beaming with happiness.
yet, the ecstatic emotion doesn't reflect back at the man staring at it.
at times, you see an anguished soul. one, who knows how to push people away—barking furiously, at anyone who tries to come close.
even if that person happens to be you.
“what do you think you're doing?” he snaps. “who allowed you to enter this room?”
me, you want to say. it's my room.
instead, you respond with: “my apologies, master. the room's dirty. so i thought it'd be nice to have it cleaned.”
diluc stares, stern and sharp. a moment passes and you see his eyes trail behind you.
on instinct, you look back to notice an opened maroon-colored present on the bed side table.
the lid of the box lays forgotten on the floor,
and a lustrous gold ring sits on the wooden desk.
his gaze immediately softens.
“leave,” he scolds. “and never come back.”
you obey his orders.
sadly, you're banned from the room. but you're thankful you get to stay at the mansion.
and unbeknownst to you, diluc lingers for hours.
peering at the piece of jewelry he bought four years ago as a token of his love for you.
ever so often, you find a sorrowful man—one too grief-stricken to eat. all his meals turn into mush and slop, thinking about how you used to love dining with him.
he remembers sitting with you while he works, your hand in his.
he recalls you caressing his hair, soothing his head from the nightmares that plague his sleep.
he recollects all of your jokes, even the ones that aren't even funny. but you're smiling and it brightens his day.
you, you, you.
he finds the thought of you hard to swallow.
once in a while, you hear the sounds of footsteps tapping at midnight—soft and light on the second floor. he walks with purpose; now and then, lifting his legs high as if trailing on thick snow.
tailing him, you watch as he mindlessly marches towards the end of the corridor. towards your old room.
his fingers twist the doorknob to no avail.
it's locked.
he can't get in. he can't save you.
you place a gentle hand on his back, guiding the man back to his room.
even in his unconscious state, he looks for you.
he searches for you in the coldest of places. hoping and praying, he'll make it in time.
in time to see your radiant smile once more.
(he doesn't)
sometimes, you glimpse a shadow of his former self—eyes staring fondly at a scene you know perfectly well.
“i haven’t looked at this portrait in years,” diluc says, softly.
he leans against the wall opposite of the image, his dominant hand rests within the right pocket of his pants.
in the painting, you and diluc are smiling. eyes sparkling joyfully.
you shoot him a quizzical look.
the curtains that hid the portrait are gone. but you're sure it was there a day ago. certainly, it was him who removed it.
glancing at his peaceful form, you ask, “do you miss them?”
diluc twists a gold ring in his pocket. his fingers brush the cursive engraving of your name.
sentiments of melancholy soar in his chest, thinking about the day you died.
the same day he was going to propose.
a bittersweet smile rests on his face, “more than you know.”
Tumblr media
#xiao:
“xiao!”
where is he? why isn't he coming? your thoughts run as fast as your feet carry you—over thick terrain, and sliding repeatedly on the rain soaked ground.
“xiao!” you scream.
swishing your head back, you see the faint silhouette of your attackers. seven treasure hoarders sprint towards your direction, enraged by your successful stealing attempt.
it's a commission, you see. all you have to do is: sneak into a specific treasure hoarder hideout, steal a specified silver necklace, and easily get out.
a supposed effortless commission.
and unexpectedly, it's the job that's going to get you killed.
if it weren't for the bleeding gash on your abdomen, and the flint arrow jammed through your ankle— you'd beat these watered-down weaklings any day.
but you're exhausted from the sleepless night before. drained from crying your eyes out in a jealous fit of rage; all because you couldn't stand hearing the traveler's name, over and over, from your dearest adeptus' lips.
“please, xiao!” you yelp, sliding against a tree root.
shouldn't he be here by now? you wonder. is he the type of person to watch you suffer in agony as revenge for yesterday? of course not!
he will be here the moment you call his name. he will rescue and then chastise you after.
but, a bitter taste wallows in your throat. he's not coming and it's all your fault.
screaming you absolutely hate him to his face? weeping about how unfair his favoritism is? praying you suddenly die a swift death so he can finally be with the person he truly loves?
how stupid can you be!
“i didn't mean what i said!” you choke, as a steady stream of tears fall. “i'm so sorry for everything, xiao—”
a gust of wind cuts your apology, and xiao stands right before you with a concerned (almost frantic) look on his face.
he digests the scene quickly, beating the humans who dare hurt his cherished lover. “foolish!” xiao scolds. “reckless! what were you think—”
xiao's heart skips a beat. turning around, he sees you on the muddy ground. one hand squeezing your chest in a death grip. he hastily dashes to you and places your back on his lap.
“who did this?” xiao snarls.
struggling, you point a finger at your left ankle. xiao immediately notices the flint arrow coated in a mulberry-like tint.
poison, you think. you're going to die.
tears flood your eyes as your chest feels heavier than ever before. like an anchor pulling you to the bottom of an ocean, while you suffocate slowly.
“i don't want to die.” you mumble, between shallow breaths.
xiao places one hand under your knees and another behind your back, lifting you up into his arms. “don't be scared, i'm right here.”
puffs of wind sting your face and you know he's carrying you to help. searching for a doctor, or a merchant. for anyone to help.
a plop of water tickles your eyelash, compelling you to glance upwards. “you know, i don't think i've ever seen you cry...”
unblinking, xiao stares forward and more tears slide down his cheeks. as if sensing the life trickle out of your body, he whispers “do not leave my side.”
you're to tired to respond.
but, you hope the sigh of relief coming from your lips is a loud enough answer.
#after:
past memories materialize in your brain like an electric shock.
you died—oh, archons—you're dead!
your hands shake in terror, and you feel like throwing up.
oh, yes. you do puke your guts out. in front of your newfangled distraught parents.
apparently the blast of information is too much to bear for a seven year old.
(even if your current mind is older than twice your current age)
and your parents don't know what to do: you don't eat, you don't talk, you stare out the window with glazed eyes, you barely sleep at all, even food doesn't help.
and they know how much you love food.
so imagine their surprise seeing their child burst out into tears upon feeding your favorite dish, almond tofu.
tears of happiness? nope. you sob hopelessly remembering your dearest xiao. your favorite person in the whole world.
oh, what you would give to jump back into his arms.
but, no. you're stuck here. you've stolen an innocent child's body. taken the place of that said child. taking advantage of your new parent's kindness.
how it happened? you don't know.
but you're smart enough not to ask.
precautions in case they decide to burn you as a sacrifice to the gods, for figuring out you're a devil in disguise? i mean, you don't know these people. it's better to be safe than sorry.
anyway, the sudden personality change baffles your parents.
a month ago, you nearly drowned playing near the deep waters of wangshu inn. a day after the incident, you remain the same. weeks later, you're having nightmares and talking in your sleep.
what's going on? your parents don't know. they think you're having a delayed response to almost drowning. and they absolutely need to bring a healer to you pronto.
your grandmother, who coincidentally happens to be verr goldet, recommends she takes you into her care while they (father and mother) head to liyue harbor.
they accept. and you're thrown into the arms of your loving grandmother.
some days, she tells you stories about the illuminated beasts known as the adepti. magical beings who protect liyue from demons and vile gods.
grandmother winks, “i hear, a certain friend of mine loves almond tofu. try offering some, and maybe he'll tell you more stories.”
and that's how you're sitting on the floor, leaning against an open window in one of the inn's available rooms.
the mere action beckons child services to scoop you up. i guess, she trusts you not to fall to your death.
anyhow, the plated dish lays perfectly on the window sill. yet, xiao still hasn't come to say hi, and you've been waiting for hours.
why would he come? you think, he doesn't know you.
unsurprisingly, you fall asleep as exhaustion creeps up on you.
and unknowingly, you whisper xiao's name over and over while you dream of blissful days. watching the sunsets and sunrises with your dearest person.
you don't see the yaksha when you wake up though. but the empty plate on the bottom of the window sill attests his visit.
afterwards, you see xiao three times.
your first meeting takes place when you are seven and a half years old. outside wangshu inn, near the shallow waters.
funnily enough, you assume that since you (previous child) virtually died (actually died) while swimming in the said place, you suppose you'd be banned from going near the said place.
but composed grandma has other ideas. rephrasing her words, “face your fears, or face your death.” yes, she loves you and only wants you to be prepared for the worst. then how hard can it be? you know how to swim. it'll be easy-peasy.
so how is it possible you're choking on sea water? your limbs struggle to bring you above the surface, and your neck cranes at different angles to help you breathe.
“xiao—please—help!” you scream, gasping for air.
seconds later, someone carries you up by the back collar of your t-shirt. “mortals and death wishes,” xiao chastises as he drops you on the grass. “leave my name out of this.”
your mouth gapes open in awe. he's here! he came! you're so giddy that you nearly spill the beans (of who you are). “thank you! it's great to see you again!” you beam.
xiao tilts his head quizzically, “...again?” he pauses and then says, “forget it. it's time to move you somewhere else. lest you'd call me again for something mediocre.”
you wince. now isn't a good time to reveal who you are, you figure. he'd likely scoff at your face and evade all contact with you than actually believe your story.
so you keep it to yourself for the time being.
before xiao can seize your collar (well, to carry you around of course), your tiny hand grasps his fingers.
“did you like the food?” you ask, pulling him towards wangshu inn.
he throws a bizarre look, one akin to surprise and turmoil. and subsequently nods slowly, as if testing your reaction.
“let's go home then!” you chirp. “there's more in the fridge.”
xiao stops walking, taken aback. and you suppose your friendly invitation is too much for the adepti. but a short while later, he's behind you, trailing after your footsteps.
four years pass and now you're eleven.
it's time for your daily afternoon walk. as your doctor recommends walking around the shoreline to cure your fear of swimming, you stroll near guili plains.
honestly, you're only permitted to walk near the inn. but hey, what's a life without adventure?
hours pass and you're exhausted from wandering. so you decide to rest beneath a tree to gain enough strength to walk back to wangshu.
however, fate loves to meddle and you end up tripping on a piece of cobblestone. upon inspecting the rock, you notice your name carved on the stone.
and your heartbeat quickens. your name? how could you forget? this is where your life ended, within the embrace of the person you loved most.
a snowy colored flower catches your attention. a qingxin. the freshness of the plant makes it seem like someone placed it quite recently.
actually, spot on theory. a breeze of wind tickles your back, signaling the arrival of a certain annoyed adepti.
“tread carefully,” xiao warns, adjusting the disorderly flowers. “perhaps, try to watch where you're going.”
his words sound awful, but you notice the lack of hostility. inviting xiao to eat lunch at the inn must've done wonders as he's less unfriendly towards you.
you mutter a sincere 'sorry' and plop down on your knees, facing the grave. your eyes watch the adepti in sheer engrossment, trying to make the grave as perfect as possible.
the words flow out of your mouth without much thought, “are you always here?”
xiao opens his mouth to speak but quickly closes it. a pause. he repeats the action, following another pause. he's likely contemplating why in archon's name he'd be telling his troubles to a child like you.
and you understand his hesitancy. he barely knows you, you've only met him twice, and he isn't the type of person to spill his whole life story to a kid he knows.
but before you can change the topic, xiao whispers, “unusual it is. they’re gone... i know it. but i always come back, waiting for them to return.”
you’re thirteen when a dream scares the living daylights out of you.
your eyes blink, adjusting to the darkness of your room. clammy hands grip the bottom hem of your t-shirt as your eyes fill up with tears.
how scary it is. to continually have reoccurring dreams about your death day. the drumming of the rain must have triggered the nightmare, as your bad dreams seemingly happen on a rainy day.
“help me... please. xiao,” you mumble, tucking yourself deeper into the blanket.
instantaneously the adepti appears kneeling beside your bed. he lightly lifts the cover; and you, fully-adjusted to the darkness, see a perplexed look on his face.
“the rain scares me,” you croak, voice raspy from crying.
xiao’s expression promptly softens. “don’t be afraid. i’m here.”
he pauses before adding, “...and i don’t like the rain either.”
you nod in agreement. the day you stumbled upon your own grave was the same day he explained about what happened to you—a story you reminisce multiple times in your nightmares.
but you’re in no mood for frightening tales.
grabbing his hand, you ask: “can you tell me a story about them?”
xiao’s shoulders relax, appreciating your reassuring hand. “they love adventures and exploring the great unknowns,” he pauses. “now they are finally flying above the stars, just like they always wanted.”
Tumblr media
author’s note: before anyone comes after me saying xiao wouldn’t take that long to save you, his part actually occurs at the same time the chasm escape lore happens. so the moment he shows up was the only time he actually heard you calling his name. ‘cause we all know he’d come running to save you instantly if you called ;-;
also, it’s purely platonic on xiao’s part. we don’t ship pedo in this blog;; he simply treats you as a little sister/brother in the #after sections.

The strong musk of cologne clouded your senses like smoke, choking you with fear and disabling your desire to speak. Your landlord, though you assumed you would not be his tenant for long, stood by the entrance to the kitchen, which had the only door that led outside your apartment, with a rigid finger pointed at you.
"Where is my daughter?" His tone was calm but cold. Probably as cold as his daughter’s corpse, you thought as you compared this situation to a funeral. How could you describe this situation as anything other than a funeral? You were sure that Xiao killed your roommate. Xiao killed the landlord’s daughter. Xiao killed someone—for you.
You gasped when the landlord slammed his fist against the head of the couch that blocked him from you. Earlier, upon your arrival from college, you attempted to block the door with furniture because:
You couldn’t find the key to your apartment to lock it at the entrance. Perhaps your roommate had it, wherever she was.
You basically assisted murder. It was hard to not feel paranoid in such a situation.
Your efforts were wasted because, shortly after gathering the furniture and trying to move the couch, the landlord arrived.
Your silence didn’t please him, unsurprisingly, and the man kicked at the couch, causing it to move sharply against the wooden floor, and he was making his way to you. "You fucking-"
The landlord’s words were cut off when he stumbled backwards, held back by his suit jacket. Your breath hitched when you saw who was holding the landlord away from you.
"Am I interrupting something?" For some reason, Xiao’s voice was able to give you a sense of normalcy that you’d been missing out on for the entire day. The landlord swung his hand behind him, causing Xiao to step away from him while abandoning his hold on the man’s clothing, making the man in question stumble back.
"I know that fucking voice." The landlord sneered at Xiao, and his finger was now pointed at Xiao this time around.
"I must admit, you’re much more pleasant on the phone," Xiao said, and you didn’t miss the teasing glint in his tone. He didn’t miss the temporary spark of amusement on your face.
"Where is-" the landlord made an attempt to shove at Xiao’s chest, but his hand was caught mid-motion. He tried to yank his hand out of Xiao’s grasp, but to no avail. "Where is my daughter?" He tried again, giving up on trying to get his hand back from Xiao.
"Tell me, human." He tightened his hold on the man’s arm, and his head tilted slightly to the side. "What would you have done with them if I hadn’t arrived at the right moment?" Your heart skipped in your chest when you realised Xiao was talking about you. Xiao was… protecting you.
"Anything that would help me find my daughter," The landlord spat. Xiao sighed before shoving the landlord in the direction of a table that once stayed in the dining room before you tried to create your DIY barricade, and he stepped toward you hesitantly. As if he was trying not to scare you away.
"Are you alright?" He spoke, and his voice was more gentle than before. You nodded, stunned into silence, because Xiao was truly right here in front of you. You couldn’t help but stare at him in awe, like he was some kind of lost historical artifact.
Xiao chuckled, amused by your display of endearment, but the moment was lost when the landlord charged at him from behind. Xiao stepped to the side at the last moment and extended his hand, his fist colliding with the landlord’s face and pushing him to the ground. Xiao’s foot was now at the landlord’s collarbone, the front edge of his sneakers pushing against the landlord’s neck.
You gasped; the exchange was so fast that you almost missed it. You stepped away from Xiao because he seemed anything but human, and that thought scared you. Xiao scared you. Goodness, why are you only realising that now? He killed someone—no, he killed people. Xiao turned to you with a raised eyebrow, as if sensing your conflicted thoughts and emotions, and you flinched. He narrowed his eyes at your reaction, but before he could do or say anything, you bolted- jumping over the pillow and chairs until you met the base of the steps, which you climbed two at a time. The sound of footsteps following behind you spurred you on, and tears burned the corners of your eyes because you feared what would happen if you were caught.
Soon enough, you had your back against your room’s door, your weight pressing against the wooden surface because, damn it, your selfish roommate had confiscated your keys. None of this would have happened if she was a more decent person. If only she gave you the privacy you needed, you wouldn’t be here. She wouldn't be dead, wherever she was. You didn't think it was pleasant. In fact, you wouldn’t have even needed to stay with her if your family hadn’t neglected and used you the way they did. If only you just sucked up and dealt with the loneliness rather than using character ai. No, you wouldn't need to deal with any loneliness if those kids at the college were nicer.
You choked on a sob when you heard light knocking at your door, your now shaking hands covering your mouth in a pathetic attempt to keep yourself quiet. Despite your efforts, the knocking persisted, but when you made no attempt to open the door, Xiao called your name.
"Please open the door." His voice was gentle and sweet, as if he were incapable of the horrible things he was doing. The horrible things he had already done. Hands tightening against your mouth, you curled into your trembling self and closed your eyes to try and wish everything away. "Are you scared… of me?" Xiao’s voice was much more quiet and sullen. You opened your eyes to peek at your dim room because, during your frantic escape, you did not think to switch on the light; it was the least of your concerns.
Xiao called your name again, his voice just above a whisper. "I would never hurt you."
"But you hurt them." Your voice wavered as you spoke through your now-loosened fingers. Your eyes had begun to adjust to the darkness, the gentle swaying of your curtains slightly distracting you from your previous terror.
You heard a soft sigh from the other side of the door. "I was trying to protect you."
"I never asked for your protection."
There was a sharp intake of breath, then a pause. "You’re insane." Xiao spoke without any humor. "What about all those times where you’d come crying to me with your problems, about how these people would mistreat you?"
Despite the oddity of the situation, your cheeks warmed as you remembered your chats with him when he was just an ai behind your phone screen. Xiao didn’t feel embarrassed about it like you did; he felt suffocated because, back then, he was powerless and he only had words to aid you. Useless words. Words don’t save people, they barely have the power to do much. Xiao was powerless, but now that he was here, why wouldn’t he act? Now that he had the ability to act, why wouldn’t he use this to help you? No, he won’t just "use" this opportunity, he’ll abuse it. Milk it dry of everything he can manage because you deserve better and he would destroy all those who have caused you pain to make you happy—even if it's himself.
"Are you too foolish to understand that-" he gulped, as if he feared your reaction to his little confession- "I’d do anything for you to be happy?"
By now you were staring numbly at your unmade bed, Xiao’s words circling in your mind. He seems so willing to sacrifice himself for you, this is unhealthy. No, but- nobody has ever been willing to sacrifice anything for you, and Xiao was offering everything. Everything. You stood up before opening the door, a flash of green was all you saw before you were wrapped in his arms. "Everyone that hurts you," Xiao breathed, "I can make them go away. Forever."
Your fingers fisted the material of his shirt, and he tightened his embrace. Why did you feel a wave of warmth at his words? This was wrong. You couldn’t allow anyone else to get harmed, and you would’ve voiced this, but you remembered how much you suffered at the hands of others for so long. Was this not simply justice?
"Wouldn’t it make you happy?" Xiao said, bringing you out of your thoughts.
"That would make me very happy," you whispered. He pulled away from the hug, and moonlight slowly filtered in from your window and illuminated the gentle smile on his face. His amber eyes seemed to glow with warmth under your gaze.
"If you wake up to a knife at your throat," He began while he raised his hand to trail his cold fingers over the skin of your cheek, causing your breath to hitch, "If monsters dig their claws into you," he continued as he gazed into your eyes as if they were made of pearls. "If death comes knocking at your door, call out my name." He trailed his fingers from your cheek to your chin and lifted it, removing some distance between the both of you. "Call out my name." He made no move to completely cover the distance between you, and you prepared to question why he wasn’t moving when it hit you.
"Adeptus Xiao," you called quietly, causing the adeptus’ eyes to soften. The warmth in your face had spread all over you and settled in your chest, with your heartbeat ringing in your ears. He leaned in to cover almost all the little distance remaining between you both, and your eyes fluttered shut.
Xiao spoke a breath away from your lips. "I will be here when you call." And with that, he closed the distance between you and connected his lips to yours in a gentle kiss. It was sweet but short, for Xiao broke away almost instantly, his face visibly red despite your dim surroundings.
"I will always protect you," He began, the back of his hand covering part of his face, but despite his clear embarrassment, he made no attempt to move away from you. "It’s the only reason for my existence in your world."
"How did you get into my world?" Up until now, you couldn't see how any of this made any sense. Xiao paused for a moment.
"Even I don’t fully understand it, but it's the least of my concerns. You and your safety are my only concern. So why don’t we leave?"
"Together?"
"Together. After I sort everything out with the landlord," He said, his fingers were now slowly tracing the outline of your face. This show of affection was not enough to distract you from the fact that Xiao would probably kill the Landlord. It didn’t bother you as much as it should have. You spared him a gentle smile, showing how you were okay with the whole situation, and his eyes lingered on your lips for a second too long. Your face was warm again. But before either of you could initiate another kiss, the sound of police sirens broke the silence.
Xiao stiffened before taking your hand firmly. Your heart dropped to your feet as you glanced around your room frantically. You were caught, you thought, and you glanced at the window. Perhaps you could climb out before it’s too late? As if reading your thoughts, Xiao squeezed your hand gently before speaking in a disapproving manner, "That won’t be necessary. I’ll just teleport us out of here."
"You can teleport?"
"Is that not common knowledge?" He asked, confused by your question. You chuckled at this; he was right. If Xiao could exist in your world, he could exist with his abilities too. He closed the door to your room before dragging you to the window and fully opening your curtain and making sure your window was open, probably to throw off the police, and he wrapped his arms around you before teleporting you both out.
———-
"Aether, our other team received a report of a person found dead near the local university. Most likely a student." A policewoman stated as they scanned the living room that the Landlord of the apartment had already been escorted to a hospital. It was a miracle that he remained conscious long enough to make a call.
"It’s most likely related to the classified case I was tasked with," Aether said, because he was sure they were all connected. The missing person who lived here, the injured landlord, the body of the university… it was definitely connected to his special case, ‘Operation Barbatos'. "Make sure that landlord stays alive so we can ask him about what he saw."
"Got it." His subordinate stated this before she left the living room, probably to find out about the state of the only witness they had.
Aether took out his notebook and sighed as he scribbled in it.
"Paimon, when did the activity of the new entity begin?"
"Just this morning!" His digital assistant spoke lively from his phone.
"Just like the other cases before this one." He observed quietly before looking at his watch. It was 6 p.m. He had exactly 6 hours to save the victim taken by- What even was it? If he didn’t know any better, he would’ve concluded that it was a ghost. A kidnapping was typical for all the cases he’s come across: the missing ship, the village that disappeared, and even case files to do with this mystery had begun to go missing along with his old assistant. He was afraid that he was coming to a dead end. Another similar thing was that website, Character AI, but that was still up for debate.
"Aether, we found something in the room upstairs." One of his other subordinates informed him, and he made his way around the misplaced furniture before making it up the stairs.
A note?
Aether frowned as he read the three words written on the paper.
You’re next, Aether. - x

diluc ragnvindr ★↷
mistakes. diluc has made alot of those in his life, some of them worse than others. but the worse one to date is letting you end up in this condition.
you were one of diluc's most trusted friends since his childhood, someone that stuck through him thick and thin. but someone along that line of friendship you had started to wish that it was something slightly more than a strong friendship. but you had no idea if diluc felt the same and not wanting to make things awkward you kept quiet about your growing feelings.
but little did you know diluc felt the same way. but both of you were scared that the other may not feel the same way. but passers-by could see that both of you were struggling with your feelings. more specifically diluc's brother kaeya. who practically couldn't help but cringe at the awkwardness knowing his brother was hopelessly in love with you but couldn't bring himself to confess.
but eventually with a little prodding from kaeya, diluc starrted to plan his way to confess. even eventually asking adeline for help, who couldn't help but smile at the idea of diluc finally confessing. but it seemed the archon's weren't in his favour.
on the day if his confession diluc went out to meet you in his wineyard. as the previous day he asked you to meet him there. but after 10 - 15 minutes of waiting passed the time agreed, you hadnt shown up. he tried to tell himself you were just running late that you would be here any minute but that was doing little to his hopes of confessing. eventually he heard someone approaching. thinking it was you he started mentally preparing himself, until ge saw adeline round the corner wearing a concerned look. 'master diluc I'm afraid I've come bearing bad news' this sent his mind into a spiral. 'what kind of bad news?' he was hoping to the archons it wasn't to do with you but seeing as adeline told him presumably right away it was serious. 'im afraid your going to have postpone your confession, they are currently being tended after a serious accident'.
this sent his heart racing, and his mind clouded with worry and anger. adeline explained how some fatui skirmishers had ambushed you and left you in a critical state, dead had not the knights of favonius stepped in. as diluc approached where you were recovering, he had ran into a medic and asked how you were and after confirming you were fine and just needed to rest but he could go see you, he couldn't help but grimace at your bloodied state. matted hair, bandage's, archons he wished he was there to save you. he knelt beside you taking your slightly cold but warming hand in his he pressed it to his lips and in a moment of weakness spilled out all his confessions, knowing you were unconscious and probably wouldnt hear him, but it made him feel better.
kaeya alberich ★↷
you two were known as an unstoppable duo in the knights of favonius. his stragetic thinking paired with your power in combat, you two were a package deal. but recently that had been concerns with more abyss mage's showing up near mondstadt's border. needing only you to go out and sort out the arising problem.
this concerned kaeya more than it should've. to most it seemed like he was worried because you were working partners and this was the first mission in a while you would be separated. and he thought so too. he tried to think rationally but the longer he tried to deny his budding feelings for you, the stronger they became. and he could only hope you returned safely and maybe he could get over his denial and confess.
so on the day you were meant to return, exactly 3 days you were set to be gone - he kept track, kaeya couldn't focus in his work and instead promted to wait for you. he waited until he saw a figure in the distance thinking it was you he got up excitedly, until he saw more people with the figure and the closer they came he noticed you. but you weren't looking like your normal self. you laid unconscious in another knights arm's as they rushed passed him hoping to get you the urgent treatment you needed. he was frozen in place for a while until he realised he needed to check how you were.
he paced outside where you were being treated waiting for the medic's to let him in as he was told it wasn't wise for him to be in there while you were being treated. until the noises of the medics near your bed went silent as tine seemed to stop. panic-stricken, he barged into where you were to see the grimaces on everyone's faces as they didnt stop him from teaching out to grab your hand. your hand that felt colder than anything he had ever felt before.
adeptus xiao ★↷
xiao was reluctant to let you, a mortal, into his life. he was scared his karmic debt would affect you aswell as his past comrade's. but you were insistent on becoming the yaksha's friend. and eventually you earned a spot in his heart.
eventually after being close to the yaksha for a while he started feeling a new feeling he had never felt before. whenever you dragged him to do things he felt a flutter in his stomach that made him feel weird. he didn't know what to do. everytime you smiled at him or did something with or for him he felt this way and he was at loss of what to do about it. maybe it would just go away.
that was until one day he returned to the wangshu inn and verr goldet immediately called for him to tell him 'just to be clear, they should be fine-', that set him up in alarm. there was only one person that verr goldet would know that he had a bond with. you. he immediately went to your room in the wangshu inn, after listening to verr goldet explain the whole story to him.
he looked upon you bandaged body that hid your worst wounds from him. why didn't you call for him? he knelt beside you and with no explanation looked ahead and started spewing out confessions about how you made him feel. 'you are the only person to make me feel these things, stay and help me understand them.'
kujou sara ★↷
you were an upcoming soilder in the tenryou commission. you had alot of potential and that attracted even the general herself. she never really was that intrested in her fellow soilders, she got along with them sure that's what any good general would do but you seemed different.
originally she thought it was your quick rise in the ranks, or something similar. but it seemed different when she had a small twinge of jealousy stir within her when a soilder became overly friendly with you. she also found intrest in how when sparring, you wanted to spar with her and surprisingly managed to keep up pretty well.
but eventually you were placed on a patrol with some other similar ranking commission members a fair way away from the camp. she had made decisions like this for a while but this one felt different and more personal for her. she pushed those feelings back and insisted to herself that they would pass. although she still counted down the days till you returned not that she would admit.
but when you returned you were beaten, bruised and completely bloody, the only one to return. you passed out before you even stepped into the camp and had to be rushed back into inazuma for urgent treatment. turns out your camp was ambushed and destroyed within seconds. Sara felt an indescribable amount of fear at the thought of losing you so she felt compelled to finish the mission as quickly as possible and check up on you and maybe get revenge. this was a shock to other soilders but no one spoke about it, they wouldn't dare. but sara was more aware of her feelings now and as much as she hated to think of it but maybe confessing to you wasn't that bad when you recovered.
cyno ★↷
you had met the general mahamatra through your friend tighnari. you were a nature researcher who had moved to sumeru to learn more about avidya forest and its close by equivalents. and your old friend tighnari was the forest watcher at avidya. however soon introduced you to cyno.
you had originally only planned to spend 6 months in sumeru but the bountiful enviroments and the people you met meant you stayed longer than intended. and eventually you were offered a job in looking at nature in the desert of hadramaveth. it was a way away but you had high hopes for it. however cyno felt slightly differently. over the past months cyno had started developing what tighnari had to point out to him, a crush.
on the day you were to depart, you bid farewells and cyno watched you feeling uneasy at knowing you would be a long way away for a month. he wanted to go with you to ensure your safety (totally not to spend time with you) but he had his duties to attend to and you're expedition team was sure to make a safe trip there and back. however one day, a week before your expected return, there was an uproar in one of the akademiya's medical bay's. cyno thought nothing of it until he saw tighnari rushing over there and stopped him just to find out your expedition had been ultimately destroyed by a setekh wenut, which you had accidentally stumbled across.
cyno was furious that your safety was widely disregarded and the akademiya hadn't provided enough protection, but was ultimately relieved that you had survived. sure you were a bit worse for wear but you were alive, unlike a few expedition members. and in those moments that cyno visited you until you recovered he realised that if you were to die he would've been distraught he never confessed to you. but maybe soon he would.
wriothesley ★↷
you and wriothesley had a complicated relationship some might say. but to each other you were rival's. no doubt about you hated each other. you two would constantly try to one up the other or never fail to make a snarky remark if spotted in the same room. but sometimes the lines between rivalry and something else blurred as wriothesley sometimes couldn't help but find how adorable you looked when you were angry and to him that was just something to tease you with more.
sometimes the people of fontaine, especially older folks, would find your petty rivalries exhausting to witness. sometimes one of you would stoop to the lowest of the lows and find a way to 'prank the other' but that sometimes ends up looking like a children's squabble. a petty, ridiculous and downright tiring squabble.
however at the end of the day you both had jobs. very respectable jobs at that. and sometimes that did mean working with each other which meant that it would come to a unspoken agreement to not continue your rivalry in the workplace. but after a particular day of hardwork wriothesley had overheard a particular conversation from two fontaine citizens about how you had encountered a fatal accident with some fatui members. that made his blood run colder than his cryo vision. there's no way you would lose to some fatui members.. right? probably just gossip roaming the streets of fontaine. yeah that's it.
well it wasn't. he kept hearing about it more and more until he decided to go and see to these 'rumors' himself. so he went over to the medic's himself and asked if you were here and to his fear, you were. the rumors were true. in a moment of panic he demanded to see you but was told that you were still under observation and he could come back tomorrow and visit. so thats what he did.
as soon as he was allowed he went straight to see you, for reasons that escaped him. he gazed down at your bloody, slight frostbitten body and let out a sigh he didint know he was holding and preceded to let out all the unspoken feelings he had that were hidden behind snark comments and teasing actions. he knew you hadn't heard him but it felt good to get it out. he slowly raised your hand to his lips, and left.

Let's give our tired Yaksha some love and have a Xiao + Mistletoe
It's Day 11 of JJ's Advent Calendar! :) Thank you for your request! Hope you like what I came up with.
Day 11: Xiao + “mistletoe”
Xiao wasn’t exactly sure how he had ended up in this situation. A couple of minutes ago, you had tried everything to convince him to go and build a snowman with you, and now, you had suddenly stopped in your tracks, so that Xiao had bumped into you. With a frown, he looked at you. “What’s wrong?”
“Oh no,” you sighed and pointed at the mistletoe above your head, “these accursed berries have trapped me again, it seems.” And with a sheepish grin, you added, “If only my true love would pass by and free me from this curse with a kiss.”
Xiao huffed but still couldn’t fight back a smile. This was the fifth time you did this since you had brought the mistletoe home, and while he always pretended to be a bit annoyed by your actions (and your abysmal acting, for the record), he secretly waited for you to do it again. After all, it gave him the perfect excuse to kiss you. (He was pretty sure you had already figured that out, too.)
“What am I supposed to do?” you asked with another exaggerated sigh. “I’ll be stuck here until the end of time!”
This time, Xiao laughed. It was so obvious that you wanted him to kiss you, and the fact that you put on this show instead of just asking him (or initiating a kiss yourself) really amused him. He stepped closer to you and leaned in, so that the tip of your nose brushed against his. “Here, let me try,” he said and pressed his lips to yours in a tender kiss that ended way too quickly for your liking, “did it work? Are you free from the curse of the berries?”
“No,” you replied without any hesitation. “I think you need to kiss me again.”

Listen I have a idea;
sucking off xiao during the lantern rite festival somewhere behind a building where no one can see, the reader whispering some praises to him while he is biting his hand to hold back some moans, and the reader reminding him that he cannot be loud or else they will be caught

Minor writer, dni if uncomfortable!
Tumblr media
"Ah— Fuck, hold on—" He hisses through his teeth, "Wait— Someone could- Fuck-!" He bites down on his hand, head falling back against the wall. You just slowly go down before dragging your tongue up his dick.
There were few lanterns going up in the sky, people busy and yet so free down below. If one could pass a few corners, they'd see a wonderful sight of the adeptus for sure. Xiao's biting at his hand, the other in a fist on the ground. Oh, and of course, you right there stuffing your mouth with his cock!
His face is flushed, he's gasping and moaning from you. Then you release him from your mouth, pumping him with your hand instead. He whines, moving his head to look at you. Oh, such an adorable expression, isn't it?
"You're so cute like this, Xiao," you say, going to press a kiss on his neck, "A sight only for me to see." He moans, bucking his hips, muttering things in his hand. "You know I can't hear you," you whisper. Xiao takes his hand away for a moment, "Hah— We could- fuck, we could get spotted..!" You chuckle, pressing another kiss on his neck, "We won't if you'll be quiet."
Your hand goes to jerk around his tip, making him moan a little higher. "Shhh, did you not hear what I said?" You whisper in his ear and his hand goes on his mouth again, "Be a good boy and don't be so loud."
Xiao whines at your words while you go back down, replacing your hand with your mouth. Your hands rest on his thighs as you look up at him through your lashes. He looks downwards and you see the blush on his face get darker. Immediately averting his eyes, Xiao's fingers dig in his cheek, trying to stay quiet.
You just continue sucking him off, swirling your tongue around him, sometimes humming around his dick. His hand on the ground goes to your hair, gripping it. You look up at him again. Xiao's eyes are shut tight, his hand is moved a little to the side.
"I'm— [name], I'm gonna— Oh fuck, please." You take more of him as you go down, making his fingers grip you harder and a loud moan to slip past. You pull away, replacing your mouth with you hand again, him whining out. "Xiao, don't be so loud," you remind, "We don't want to get caught, do we?"
Xiao immediately nods and you smile. "Good boy, be quiet and I'll let you cum, alright?" You say and go back to sucking him off. He's biting his hand once again, trying to be quiet, trying to be good. Just for you.

the long lost adeptus
chapter one/ kind of a prologue?
Tumblr media
-cross uploaded on wattpad @pe3eechy might also add to ao3
in the heart of liyue harbor, nestled within weathered stone walls and cloaked in an air of mystery, stood the library.  its ancient oak doors creaked with anticipation as visitors stepped across the threshold, entering a realm where everyone seemed to hold their breath. y/n wondered if anyone else had noticed this. noticed that the staff here always had the right things to say, never said too much, never too little. sunlight, filtered through stained glass windows, painted kaleidoscopic patterns on the mosaic-tiled floor, casting an ethereal glow upon the hallowed space. the air hummed with the whispers of countless generations, as if the very knowledge held within those shelves yearned to be heard once more. she was on a quest for answers, seeking to unravel the enigma that had consumed her thoughts for months. she had turned this library inside out searching for what she knew it held, what she knew this country was hiding. it had been weeks of doing this. but with every page turned and every sentence dissected, she found herself slipping deeper into a realm of uncharted mystery.
it didn't used to be like this. it all started with a harmless assignment from her professor on the rich history of liyue. as she delved deeper into her research, she began to notice peculiar gaps within her country's recorded history,  there were unexplained absences and inconsistencies that gnawed at her inquisitive mind. she wondered why no one else had questioned this prior to now, she took a moment to ponder and only found blame for her own ignorance. it had been 18 years of her living within liyue. her whole life spent within the mountains and the harbor, yet she had never asked herself where it all started. she had heard talk about gods from outsiders from mondstat when she was child, but not long after that lady ningguang issued a non emigration order amongst the people, y/n hadn't seen another outsider since. she heard talk between the elders of liyue, comparing this new law to a far away country called inazuma. y/n has always considered herself an educated young woman, enjoying the time she spent reading, and studying. she had never once considered herself to be ignorant, well that is until now.
y/n continued to dig deeper, unearthing fragments of truth that had long been buried. with each passing day and every fruitless search within the library's ancient tomes, her frustration grew. the answers she sought seemed to slip through her fingers. it became evident that the truth she sought could not be confined within the inked pages alone. she ventured beyond the hallowed halls of the library, determined to find alternative sources of information. her inquiries led her to the elders of liyue. she sought them out, their wrinkled faces a testament to the passage of time, hoping they held the key to the secrecy that has overcome liyue.
"come, my child, sit by the fire and listen closely. I shall share with you the tales of our land, of the gods who once protected us."
"thank you, elder. i am eager to understand the truth." y/n said, anticipating the truth. "long ago, when we were young and the land was vibrant, our ancestors revered a pantheon of an archon. their names were whispered with reverence, their deeds celebrated in songs and dances."
"who were these gods, elder? what were their names and what powers did they possess?" she questioned.
"ah, their names still echo in the winds of time. many are still among us today, it is due to lady ninggaung that the city of liyue relishes in such ignorance of it's history." y/n was not surprised by this, after all of the research she had conducted within the previous weeks, the relentless shadiness of the millelith and the ruler of liyue was apart for anyone to see. y/n opned her mouth to question, but the elder beat her to it. "i still do not know the exact reason our archon has abandoned us, and why lady ninggaung refuses to speak of it. we were only children at the time."
y/n's face twisted in confusion, "but they are gods are they not? who is lady ninggaung to completely banish a god from it's rule?"
he sighed, "time took its toll, my dear. as generations passed, belief in the gods waned. people became consumed by doubts and skepticism, forgetting the sacred bonds that had once united us. i suppose lady ninggaung look advantage of this." y/n felt an inkling of betrayal. she wondered what it would have been like growing up under the protection of a god, she felt as if lady ninggaung had taken that from her. "is there no way to bring them back? can we rekindle the faith and restore their protection?"
"i believe that the god that once cast it's protection amongst liyue has long fallen, but there is one last thing i have not yet told you." the elder almost chuckled at the look on y/n's face. "sit closer, my child, for there is more to the tale of the gods. they did not act alone; they had loyal helpers, allies in their divine mission." helpers? y/n asked herself.
"these helpers were known as the adepti. they were mortals chosen by the gods themselves, bestowed with gifts and powers to aid in their sacred tasks. it has been many years since one has spoken of such being, i was but a child when i saw them."
y/n squirmed in her seat, "you saw them, elder? what did they look like? what were their names?"
the elder leaned back in his chair, "my memory fails me now as i get older, but i do remember one thing."
"what is it elder?" she questioned leaning forward and grasping the elder's hands gently.
"there was one particular man who I saw quite regularly," the elder pauses for a moment and thinks, "what was his name again?"
as the girl pondered the knowledge of the adepti, a mixture of excitement and trepidation coiled within her heart. the anticipation of what lay ahead weighed upon her like an ever-growing burden. "ah, yes i remember!"
"what was his name elder?"
"adeptus xiao."

𝕃𝕠𝕧𝕖 𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕥𝕠 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕄𝕠𝕠𝕟 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕎𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕖?
⇢ ˗ˏˋ 𝓧𝓲𝓪𝓸 𝔁 𝓡𝓮𝓪𝓭𝓮𝓻 ࿐ྂ synopsis ; no matter where you go, you can see the worries ooze from his usually stiff posture. so sometimes you have to remind him that you're not going anyways, even if he tries. cw.- soft angst, insecurities, mentions of nightmares and night terrors, mentions of trauma. hurt/comfort lowercase intentional
Tumblr media
on certain days, you can see the storm that rages in his mind. it seeps out like water inching its way through the small gap beneath the door. or like the dripping droplets off a cornered surface. better yet, like the tears that cling to his eyelashes when you catch his strong facade barely holding on after a rough night.
on certain days, you can see his fears eating him alive. you see how he hesitates in both words and actions. how he's quick to disappear before you appear so he doesn't worry your mind.
most times, you can easily soothe his worries and fears. a simple kiss to the nose or linking pinkies. the smaller gestures bringing a subtle smile to his usually stoic face. most times, you two could sit in silence and it'd be good enough for him to know. so long as you keep contact with him and let him know that you're there, he's okay.
most times, of course. not everything is so easy.
there are days where such gestures can't ease him. where the pain just doesn't stop. where the thoughts grow louder and louder. they ring in his ears like a handbell being waved around furiously by a child. it makes him swat your hand away or blip out from sight before you could even try.
those days usually are given two endings.
one, where he disappears for days-- maybe weeks-- before returning. where he's exhausted and just wants you to hold him but is too scared. when this happens, no one gets enough sleep. not when the thoughts become night terrors to torment him.
those nights makes you hold him tight with tears in your eyes.
the second ending is where you're able to catch him. where you can grab his attention before he disappears and gather him in your arms. where you can rock side to side with a soft tune escaping you for his comfort.
and you feel lucky every time these nights happen because you're able to give him a sweet reminder.
"it's okay to lean on someone."
"i am an adepti."
"adepti can lean on someone. they, too, experience emotions."
you never understood that saying of his. maybe that's how you managed to get close to him and steal his heart. but even to this day, after months of dating him, you never understood it. if adepti weren't meant to feel, then why can they?
maybe it's an excuse he made up. one to invalidate his feeling. something you'd never fully understand.
"xiao," you wrap your arms around his waist, leaning back to rest against the headboard of your bed. "why do you wish to add more pain to what you already have?"
there's a beat of silence. his head had found its place against your chest out of habit. the soothing rhythm of your heart making him close his eyes with tears dotting the ends.
"because i deserve it."
"what makes you believe that?"
xiao's breathing stutters. his heart does too. he doesn't understand why his mind trips up at your words because, to him, it's obvious.
the blood of gods stains his hand. it drenches them and drips off like the way thick wine drips off the rim of an empty wine glass. the screams of people who he couldn't protect tap so rapidly against his skull. the drum-shattering cries of his fellows yakshas who fell in battle because he couldn't save them.
it's so obvious... so why can't you see it?
"why—…” he bites his tongue, debating between asking and just dropping it all together. so many questions and thoughts swarm his head as he shifts back to look at you, glancing between your eyes. “… why me?”
“huh?”
“i said, why me?”
you blink once. then two more times as you try to process his question. why? well, there's a plethora of reasons why. probably more than you could on your fingers. you can try but at some point, you'll end up losing count.
your fingers brush through his hair as your mind suddenly settles with it's thoughts.
"xiao."
hesitantly does his amber eyes flicker to you. he can hear his heart thumping in his ears as pressure builds up in his chest. he knows. he knows you won't ever be cruel to him. he knows you won't ever leave him but there's this... doubt. between the nightmares, the karmic debt, and his need to protect liyue-- the need to serve in hopes of washing his stained hands clear-- he doubts. he worries. he worries one day you won't be here.
that no one would be here.
"i love you to the moon and where?"
you smile at his slightly confused gaze.
"to the moon and back."
"and further," you smile. "i love you to the moon and back. i love you past the sun, past the stars, past celestia itself. i love you for you. you are my sun and i am the moon-- without your light, i could never shine so brightly and happily. and i hope it's the same for you. your presence, your smile, your laughs. you. i will be the dark sky if it means you could be the stars shining.
"i love you to the moon and back because i want to. i want to hear you relax and smile. not because of some wack savior complex. not because of some kind of pity project. but because you deserve it. you put yourself through so much and you never let yourself live.
"i love you to the moon and back, xiao. and i wouldn't love anyone else to such an extent. not if that person isn't you. i love you because you're you."
you rest your forehead against his, closing your eyes. trembling gloved fingers dig into the fat of your waist as he gives a shaky sigh, shoulders sagging at the contact.
"i love you to the moon and back because you are my home."
and you wouldn't have it any other way.
he relaxes against you. chest against chest as his face is buried in your neck, holding back tears. balled-up fabric in his fists as he squeezes his eyes shut so he could let himself melt in your presence. xiao can never truly let his guard down but with you?
with you, xiao can breathe a little easier knowing he, too, has a home to come back to.
for you are not just his home but his safe space too.

your relationship headcanons of scaramouche is so good 😩 i also noticed how everyone agrees that he'll be one of the worse yandere to get stuck with 💀 i don't know if you done one for xiao yet, so i'm curious to what you think of a relationship with him as a yan 👀
https://xiao-lovebot.tumblr.com/post/645275052143706112/vermilion-yandere-xiao-headcanons-warnings
I actually did make a yan xiao hc post! He was my first one bc i love him so much 😩 even so i’ll write a little more —
[ gender neutral as always ]
the ground you walk on is quite literally, worshipped by xiao.
he loves to watch you sleep ; his favourite place is in the corner of the wangshu inn guest room where he can observe you and the space for enemies. his affection comes at various random moments, you could be reading and suddenly warm muscular arms wrap around you in a tight embrace. Once he enters a cuddly mood there’s no way to wiggle out of it, even if you two had an argument in the previous hour.
you’re xiao’s beloved treasure, which means verr goldet and her husband look the other way when it comes to you. escape as you’ll learn with broken wrists and ankles is out of the question. xiao will kiss your wounds and tend to you accordingly but he won’t hesitate to hurt you again if you try to run from him. he believes in learning through discipline, so disobedience is off the table.
you’ll get used to it eventually. you fill up the silence whenever xiao departs with activities to keep yourself entertained; be good and you’ll even be allowed to wander around the inn while he’s away. when the adeptus comes back bruised and injured you follow through with your nightly routine of bandaging every cut you see. he enjoys it thoroughly, watching the way you worry over him when he has a particularly nasty gash on his arm. it’ll be mostly healed by the morning, yet your fussing for his being makes him unbelievably soft.
xiao is a giver, so you’ll be spoiled with any beautiful accessories or items he finds while guarding liyue. after awhile casual affection is natural between you two, he’ll cup your face and kiss you gently when he sees that once again you stayed unharmed and good while he was away.
during lantern rite you’ll be adorned with silk clothes and gold jewelry. he’ll take you gently by the hand and lead you to an empty field cleared of monsters and people alike, the two of you will be able to watch the celebration in total privacy.
xiao will lay you on the grass gently; kissing your face and progressing down to your neck and lower while the sounds of distant celebration mix with your moans and his grunts. most of the evening will be spent in total bliss and love as he cherishes every part of you.
he’ll bring you home at the end of the night and lay with you, pulling you to his chest to breathe you in and hold you close.
and well, if you manage to fall in love with xiao ... could anybody really blame you?

Seven Minutes In Heaven
For @kreideprinzessin 's event.
Character: Xiao
Slightly angsty but not a lot.
This is very cringe and very clumsily written. And it was written several months ago, so do with that information as you wish.
Tumblr media
How it all started...
"Y/N! Are you coming to my party later tonight?"
Kaeya asked you, throwing his arm around your shoulder with a mischievous smile.
Classic Kaeya. The introvert of the group who was known for throwing the best parties. Kind of ironic actually.
"What party? Does Diluc know?"
You ask him, raising an eyebrow at him, but he just laughed it off, gently ruffling your hair.
"There's a party tonight at my place. Everyone's gonna be there. It's at seven. Don't be late."
Kaeya tells you, promoting you to look at the time. It was going to be seven in twenty minutes.
"Kaeya!"
You yelled before running to get ready, causing the blue haired man to simply laugh as he waited for you to get ready.
Stupid Kaeya inviting you last minute.
Stupid Kaeya knowing you couldn't back out at the last second.
Stupid Kaeya putting you in a right spot.
Stupid Kaeya knowing your feelings for... a special someone... and that's why he invited you.
"I'm ready, you ass."
You said, interrupting Kaeya before he could start the countdown.
Whatever outfit you wore, Kaeya didn't care. He simply rushed you out the door and into his car.
The drive obviously wasn't that long, Kaeya and Diluc not living that far from you, but it was agonising.
You just wanted to sleep the night away, now you have to go into a party.
After reaching, Kaeya allowed everyone to do their own thing for the first thirty minutes.
Yet he was dissatisfied when you had yet to interact with your crush, so he took matters into his own hands.
"Everyone, put one belonging of yours into a box. I have a surprise for you."
Kaeya smirked, and nobody knew what was going on in his mind as they handed over their things.
"Wait, nonono—"
You was the first to realise what was going on, but it was already too late. Kaeya shot you his devilish smirk
"Oh yes. It's seven minutes in heaven time. I see we have our first volunteer."
Kaeya announced before holding the box to you, everyone's gaze locked on you as an invisible spotlight was placed on you.
You wished the ground could swallow you whole, but there was no backing out now.
You stuck your hand into the box and felt around for a bit to try and decide what to grab.
Once you were certain, you grasped something and pulled it out, revealing it to be....
.
Xiao
You pulled out a necklace, slightly confused as to who it could belong to, and yet it would appear that Kaeya himself had the answer.
"Well, well. Xiao, it would appear that you two get locked in the room."
Kaeya smirked, Xiao's grumbling heard from across the room as he stood up.
Your heart both sank, and fluttered.
Your heart sank because Xiao looked annoyed, almost disgusted, at having to be locked in a room with you for seven minutes.
But your heart also fluttered because Xiao had been your crush for the longest time imaginable.
And, Xiao's ears and face had turned a shade of pink, so maybe he was just pretending to be annoyed?
Nonetheless, you two went to the designated room to do your round, Kaeya immediately locking the door after you two entered.
"Sorry you had to be dragged into this."
Xiao mumbled to you, meeting your gaze at last.
And yet his gaze wasn't as piercing as normal, rather, it was quite soft.
Then again, had Xiao ever truly been harsh with you the way he was with the others?
You don't think so now that you actually get to think about it.
"It's no problem. I'm sorry you're stuck here with me."
You say, the two of you moving to sit down next to each other, legs touching.
"I don't mind being in here with, as long as it's with you."
Xiao confesses, his voice soft as he looked at you, gaze filled with an emotion you couldn't quite name yet.
Silence filled the room, you shifting uncomfortably at the silence that surrounded you both.
"Xiao, do you hate me?"
You had to ask.
Why was he always avoiding you?
Why was he reluctant to spend time with you?
"You... really are oblivious."
Xiao sighed, reaching out to pull you close.
With one arm around your waist, the other hand gently cupped your face.
A tenderness in his eyes, a softness that was seen by none.
None but you.
"I don't hate you. It's the opposite, really. I seem to have fallen in love with you. I didn't know how to admit it to you though."
Xiao's confession comes, as soft and gentle as his gaze, watching your face for any reactions.
Seeing the surprised look on your face, Xiao continued to speak.
"I've been avoiding you because I've never felt love before. And I was afraid you don't feel the same for me."
Xiao told you with a soft sigh, moving to hold one of your hands instead as he ran his fingers through his hair.
"Xiao, I..."
You trailed off, Xiao awaiting you to continue, but you didn't, causing him to frown.
"Listen. I know I'm not worthy of love or anything, so I'll—"
"NO!"
You surprised yourself and Xiao with your outburst, before moving to hold his face in your hands.
"Xiao, you are worthy of love, and I do love you. I just wasn't expecting you to confess first."
You admitted, watching the boy's amber eyes widen in surprise to your confession, holding his breath for what's next.
"I love you too. I love you so much, and I always will."
You told Xiao softly, a tender look in your eyes before he pulled you in for a hug.
"You... really mean that?"
Xiao asked you, voice in a whisper, holding you a bit tighter and closer to himself, afraid of it all being a dream.
"Of course I do. I love you, Xiao."
"Then may I.... kiss you?"
Xiao asked you, hesitantly, but you smiled and gently pulled him into a kiss instead.
Xiao's inexperienced lips clumsily kissed yours back, moving one hand to gently cup your cheek.
Pulling away, Xiao's face was red, but he shyly held the necklace over to you, a silent indicator that the necklace was meant for you.
"Help me put it on?"
You ask with a smile, Xiao's eyes lighting up before he carefully put the necklace on for you, admiring how it looked on you.
"Okay lovebirds, time is up."
Kaeya said with a smirk as he opened the door to the room.
Despite looking indifferent, the blush on Xiao's face and him holding your hand was all Kaeya needed to know.
His plan was successful.
As you and Xiao walked to the others, he spoke to you again, tone shy.
"So... are we dating now?"
"Need more proof that we are?"
You teased him, but were surprised by his next words.
"Then later, I hope you'll be ready, because I have no intention of kissing you for just this game."

High school AU
gn!reader x xiao
contents; strangers to friends to lovers, age gap, mentions of bullying.
a bit late but in honor of xiao’s bday here this is :)
You were never a quiet kid but you also weren’t the loudest in the class. you were a good neutral, talked when you needed to, didn’t speak if it wasn’t necessary. it was very unusual for you to seek people out or even have an interest in anyone. People noticed you gazing at the upperclassman Xiao, they thought you were going insane or something. of all upperclassmen, you chose Xiao. Xiao was known around campus as the grumpy emo loner, to think you of all students would have a crush on him. now that, that’s a bizarre pair. You didn’t mind, however. if anything, it was comforting. he was like you, the younger you that you’ve been able to hide so well. you wanted to get to know him more, get to know his story more. you guys only had a class together and it was almost impossible to figure out where he hides out during lunch. but you were determined to figure out who he really is, figure out if you two can be friends.
You went to all the basic loner hideouts, library, favorite teacher classroom, outside corners that only a couple students know of, the bleachers, everywhere. you even thought about going to the bathroom to look for him, thankfully the bell rang before you could actually work the courage to walk into the bathroom. Your next class was the only class you had with Xiao, so it was almost perfect timing. it was band, the weirdest yet most comforting class for a loner. Middle school you would be ecstatic to be in band but now, even though you enjoy it, it’s not giving you a good look. You were thankful you had it though, it’s bringing you closer to xiao. Thankfully, you two were in the same section. he still didnt talk much even in band which was odd to you but it still oddly made sense to you. Since Xiao is an upperclassmen, you decided you would try to ask him for some help as a way to get him to talk to you. From there you’d try your best to bring up other topics you think he knew about or that others have spread rumors about him liking.
“Hi, sorry to bother you but i have a question over this note and how to play it correctly, do you think you can help me?” You felt dumb for the way you phrased you’re question but it got Xiao’s attention. He didn’t give you a reply back though, he simply nodded and walked to your instrument with you. He looked over your music sheet and finally spoke. “Ah, we have the same note here. Its played like this” he says before going to his own instrument to show you how its done. You knew how to play the note already but hearing him talk finally and seeing him play his instrument was like a hidden secret in a game you didn't know was there. You're so glad you’re able to see this, see him, hear his voice after you’ve had such a crush on him for a long time. “How about you try it now? Hearing you play it might help me estimate how to help you.” His words took you out of your trance, it gave you an idea though. If you played well enough maybe he’d have his eye on you, So you did just that, you played to the best of your ability in hopes that he’d be surprised by you or maybe decide you need more work and take you under his wing. “That was good, still needs some work but for a first year it isn't bad. I think the other upperclassmen in our section have other students their teaching so i guess you’ll be stuck with me for a bit. I hope you don’t mind that.” “OF COURSE NOT!” you said it so instantly you had to slap your mouth shut. You thought Xiao would think of you as a weirdo, or a moron, but he laughed. He actually, genuinely, laughed. You made him laugh. You couldn't believe it, you may even be the first to hear his laugh. “You’re a strange one, I'm not one to speak to others at school but maybe you're be an exception.” Before you could even reply to him, the bell rings and he leaves you to pack his stuff. “W-wait, Xiao” you rush to him hoping for even a sliver of his attention. he doesn't respond but he turns to you as he continues packing, “So do you want to meet up after school or how exactly are you going to help me with the music?” he again doesn't say anything but he looks at you then pulls out a pen and paper from his backpack. “Here, my number. I’ll text you when I'm free, just make sure to text me first so I can save your number.” The bell rings, a warning that you have another two minutes to run to your class. “You should probably get running, wouldn't want to be the reason you're late to class haha. Good luck freshy, see you next class.” He waves to you as he walks out of the band room and off campus. God your crush for him just grew ten times. You had two other classes to get to and then you could send him a text. You couldn’t stop thinking about your interaction with him for the rest of the school day however. You couldn’t wait to get out of classes and text him.
After school, you ran to meet up with your best friend and tell her all about what happened. “GANYU! GANYU! YOU’LL NEVER GUESS WHAT HAPPEEND” you came up to her panting as she looked at you worried. “What happened Y/N? Why are you running? Calm down before you speak” Ganyu was a year older than you but you two have been friends since middle school, she was the only person who would talk to you when everyone else would pick on you for being the class loner. She’s the sweetest person you know and better yet she knows Xiao. Apparently, her and Xiao kinda grew up together and she speaks very highly of him, though they’ve grown apart, they both look after each other. “I TALKED TO XIAO. HE GAVE ME HIS NUMBER, HE TOLD ME TO TEXT HIM. C’MON GANYU WE GOTTA GO I GOTTA TEXT HIM” before she could even reply you grabbed her hand and started dragging her along with you. You’re home wasn’t far from the school so you two arrived there pretty quickly. You two quickly ran to your room closing the door behind you. “What do i say to him? do i just say hi this is Y/N from band let me know when you’re free so we can practice? is that too lengthy?” “Wait, he’s helping you with band practice?” Ganyu stares at you. “Yeah, he said he’d text me when he’s free but since he doesn’t have my number i should send him a text first.” you explain to ganyu. “I see, hmm maybe just say ‘hey it’s Y/N just texting you so you know who it is’ and maybe put a smiley face or something” she nudges you. “Stop it Ganyu you know i can’t do that, but maybe i’ll send it without the smiley face haha.” and you do just that, you send a text saying ‘Hello this is Y/N, text me when you’re free for our band practices, thank you.’ and show ganyu the text “Here let me see it real quick Y/N” you hand ganyu the phone and instantly regret it. She sent the smiley face… she sent the dang smiley face. it was over. she sent it, there was no going back. to your surprise, he responded almost instantly. since the two of you were playing games, Ganyu saw he texted you. “Uh Y/N, Xiao texted back.” you look at her. “He what?” You quickly rush to your phone almost dropping it out of your hands. you read it out loud for ganyu. “Hey, i might be free tomorrow after school if you want to practice. let me know.” “GANYU, WHAT DO I SAY” ganyu quickly places her hand on your shoulder. “Calm down, just say you’re free and set up a time with him.” You do as ganyu suggest and you both agree on meeting up at 5pm. Ganyu leaves shortly after and you’re left alone to think of what just happened. you had managed to not only talk to your crush but also text your crush and plan a practice with him. you were so excited for tomorrow.
You could barely sleep last night but you managed to get a bit of shut eye, you walked halfway to school to meet up to ganyu. though ganyu was waiting for you, so was xiao. “Hey, Y/N! sorry for such short notice but Xiao’s joining us on our walk today. he woke up a bit later than usual and i caught him just in time.” she winked at you. “I see, hi xiao, i’m glad you’ll be joining us haha..” you were a bit awkward but you managed to keep your cool. “hey, sorry to intrude on your walk haha” “no worries!” you quickly say to him. “okay cmon guys let’s go!” ganyu says dragging both of you with her. Ganyu was so energetic it almost hurt, you could see xiao smile a bit out of the corner of your eyes. it made you really happy seeing him smile. The three of you made casual convo on your way to school, ganyu and you did most of the talking but ganyu brought up a lot of childhood memories she had with xiao. she even brought up how she was struggling to hang out with both of you during middle school. you two laughed and joked and you could see xiao getting a little laugh out of your conversations as well. sadly, you guys were at the school gate within minutes. “Well, my classes are this way so i’ll catch you guys later” Ganyu says and quickly rushes to her class. “Which way are you going?” Xiao asks. “This way, i have english first class.” “I’ll walk you there.” Xiao says almost instantly and begins to walk ahead of you. You were a little stunned by his response, Xiao. a upperclassmen. walking you. “Wait, Xiao” you say almost regretting what you’re about to say. he stops and looks back at you with a confused face. “Maybe we shouldn’t walk together, not that i don’t want to! i really would but wouldn’t it look weird for an uperclassmen to walk an underclassmen to their class? especially if they aren’t like… dating or something like that?” you gulp, hoping he’ll confess to you or something but knowing he wouldn’t. “I don’t mind, i’m just walking a friend to class, nothing wrong with it. as long as you don’t mind, i just want to make sure you get there safely.” you feel a little disappointed after hearing that but you just agree for him to walk you. After you make it to your class, Xiao sticks around and talks to you until the bell rings. you two actually spoke a lot and found out you two had a lot of similar interests. you walked into class after he left feeling happy. you still had after school practice with him too. for the next week you repeated this cycle, you walked to school regularly with xiao and ganyu. xiao contributed more to the conversations, you two hung out alone more outside of practice, you two even went out with ganyu to lunch after school. everything was great, you were happy to have xiao as a friend even if that was all you two could ever be.
Time passed and your feelings for him developed even more. you were starting to wonder if you could really go on just being his friend. you asked ganyu about it, asked if you should confess or just keep it in. of course, ganyu said you should confess, she said xiao even looked interested in you. so you went for it. you asked xiao to meet you after school saying ganyu would be there but ganyu wasn’t. you two met outside your favorite after school dinner, you waited there anxiously until you saw xiao come up. “Hey, Y/N. is ganyu still on the way?” “Hey xiao. uhm i actually have something to tell you. can we talk over there?” you pointed at a nearby parks swing set. he nods and you two walk there. “So, what did you want to talk about?” Xiao asks as soon as you two get on the swings. he started swinging a little so it seemed like he was extremely uninterested. “Xiao. i like you. I’ve liked you for a while now. I asked for help and after school practice just to get closer to you. I thought it would be fine to just be friends with you but i can’t. i’m sorry, i know you might not see me that way but-“ he cut you off. “Y/N. i like you too. i’ve also liked you for a bit, maybe not as long as you’ve liked me but still. i’ve liked you even before you came up to me, i just never had the courage to talk to you. I like you a lot, Y/N. you beat me to confessing. I was planning on confessing to you tomorrow after school but here we are.” you blush and giggle at him, “really? you were going to confess tomorrow?” “Yeah, me and ganyu were talking about it and had a couple things planned haha. I was going to ask you to be my significant other.” you gasped a little under your breathe. “So, will you be my s/o, Y/N?” he asks. “Yes, a thousand times yes!!” he chuckles and gets up to hug you. you two spend a bit more time talking at the park before he starts walking you home. it was dark already so he didn’t want to let you go alone. “I should probably let you go now, i’ll see you tomorrow before school, okay?” you nod as xiao let’s go of your hand. “I’ll text you when i get home, bye, Y/N” you say bye and wave xiao off, quickly going inside and texting ganyu about everything that happens. once xiao gets home, he texts you and you two go back and fourth before he asks if you two could call. he ends up falling asleep on call and you end up hanging up so his phone doesn’t blow up haha. you had a blast today, and you couldn’t wait to see him again tomorrow.
The next few weeks seemed like heaven, Xiao was the sweetest boyfriend ever. he was very caring and generous, he worried for your safety, health, comfort and so much more. nothing much changed around ganyu though, you two weren’t too couple like around her, you two just remained being her best friend. it was nice, it was really nice to see Xiao lighten up a little. of course, people judged you two a bit, and asked why you would even like someone like xiao but you didn’t care. you were the happiest with xiao and ganyu’s undivided support was amazing. you enjoyed being with xiao and not having to choose between your best friend and boyfriend.
A/N i know this is a bit lengthy i’m sorry about that, this is kind of all over the place as well, i’ve had writers block for so long as well as school and what not consuming all my time but i hope you enjoyed this! also xiao is meant to be a junior, ganyu a sophomore, and reader a freshman!
