you must've gotten so many asks like this before, so i understand if you don't feel like answering. but ive been spiraling down so hard these days, i feel so powerless and that nothing will pay of at the end or that i'm wasting my time by trying to remain positive, and i know this feeling of powerlessness is prolly manifesting itself but i also have no energy left to keep doing the best i can. is there any solution to this? should i take a break or simply "abandon" the law?

ik this is probably not what u want to hear rn but… work on your self concept. i don’t mean like “i manifest so easy i am god of my reality etc” but instead affirmations like “i love my life, amazing things are coming to me, i know that something great is about to happen to me, i am happy, i feel in control, i am excited about life” etc. in the morning when u wake up and before bed just hype yourself up like this in the mirror. when brushing your teeth or washing your face is a perfect time! even if it feels silly or like you’re lying to yourself at first, push through and keep doing it.

also something i do when i’m feeling down/depressed is i listen to affirmation tapes. it helps me every single time. i recommend this one . within a day of listening to it i always feel better. and u don’t even have to pay attention to it! i would listen to it while reading (adhd tings) and instantly feel better. or just search dylan james on youtube and listen to any of his affirmation tapes they r all so good !

idk if u started school recently (ik it’s back to school season) but just spend ur free time doing things u enjoy!!! my favorite tip when manifesting is distract yourself. it helps so much i swearr

i’m also planning on making a post about this soon but something neville goddard suggested to a woman who was having a hard time was to just fall asleep every night affirming “isn’t it wonderful?” over and over again (lullaby method). within a week wonderful things were happening to her and her life was turned around

i hope this helps!!! we all have those days when we feel down and hopeless. i swear on my life that the law of assumption is real and that thinking positive thoughts is NOT a waste of time. just do some self care and work on your self concept for a little bit until you feel ready to jump back on the horse again. i hope u feel better soon!! <3

Do you think that Daroach has killed someone off-screen? He is referred as a ruthless thief in star allies even after his friendly meetings with Kirby and him stopping the villians has more so to do with pragmatism than him feeling actually helping.

Anyway, warning for brief talk of killing, stealing, and other immoral + gray morality stuff! And remember that regardless of what your favorite video game characters would do, everyone has someone who cares about them the same way you care about your most important people! (If you don't think YOU have that person in YOUR life yet, you will, someday! I promise!) </Dess positivity>

Now, Daroach gives me strong "phantom thief" vibes (The hat, the cape. Red is not exactly a stealthy color. It's clear Daroach cares more about style than being undetected. Plus, his JP description constantly throws around the word “calling card” - another staple of the phantom thief) and phantom thieves traditionally outsmart those they encounter rather than kill them but...

...If we're talking about a Kirby universe where everyone comes back to life in a week or so, then perhaps...?!? That is to say, at least as many as Kirby has "killed." (Aka, has "killed" no one that's gone forever :cough: ignoring Sectonia :cough:) But being ruthless (I did a quick wiki browse and couldn’t find a direct quote, but I trust that it’s mentioned somewhere) I'm SURE he and the Squeaks have gotten into violent confrontations before.

The question here is, who would a thief "need" to kill? Even in real life, a thief's focus is on stealing. Anything that gets in the way of that/complicates that process is something they DON'T want. That includes violence/violent confrontations. Killing someone and THEN taking their stuff is more liable to be associated with feelings of power/domination/control. Stealing CAN be about those things, but is usually more concerned with profit or survival. Or rebellion, if you're stealing from an institution.

(Btw, as for writing all that, I actually have zero experience with thievery - and I've never taken a psychology class, so treat the stuff up above with a grain of salt - but when you have ambitions of being a writer, you look a LOT of stuff up/think a lot about motivations.)

There's the possibility of Daroach having harmed or killed someone in self-defense, such as some yet unseen law-person or bounty hunter, but unless his reciprocation was particularly cruel or brutal, it doesn't exactly follow that such an act would lead him to be described as ruthless. And that level of violence doesn't line up with anything we know about the Squeaks anyway. They made Kirby apology cake!!

"Ruthless" does mean having no compassion or pity, but I imagine that is more in reference to the degrees they will go to get their treasure. Recall that Doc built at least two giant killer robots to stop Kirby!

...Oh....

...I just said "killer" robots, didn't I?

O-Okay. Let's just make a division here between cartoon violence and real world violence. I don't think the Squeaks have committed anything that could be comparable to the horror of real world violence. I DO think they have gotten up to their non-existent elbows in cartoon violence though!

But as much as I could imagine a growly Daroach threatening someone "to the pain" style in a dimly lit room, the tip of his cane pressed right up against their throat, I don't see him going through with it. He's got so many better methods of getting what he wants than serious violence! Plus, his dialogue in Mass Attack is a perfect mix of “Robin Hood” and “Noblesse Oblige.”

In fact, I went and checked the Japanese Star Allies description and while he mentions “taking” those “Dark Heart Gems” there’s no indication he plans on using them to do anything bad. Daroach speaks as if the thrill of the (treasure) hunt is what he’s in for more than anything. (And being able to lay back on a pile of gold and jewels like some kind of tiny, furry dragon.)

...He'd definitely make someone who hurt his crew regret it though!

Slightly related, I happen to love any HC in which the Squeaks are treated like space pirates, considering they have an airship AND are capable of inter-planetary travel! I feel like someone once mentioned that since Samus is (sort of) canon to the Kirby universe, she's probably seen Daroach's bounty on her radar, at least.

...Though I cannot say for certain what a Metroid-canon Daroach may or may not have done to earn that bounty!

your gifs are so pretty and I esp love your scenery gifs, can I ask how you get vids of scenery of some games like uncharted when your character and their big head is always in the way? I feel like I can only get it to work with first person games :( your blog is so beautiful btw <3

Hey! firstly thank you so much for the nice message! 💕

I'd be happy to explain to you what I do because you're absolutely right, nathan drake's (beloved) big head does love getting in the way, to not even mention the companion npcs who just love walking right into the shot you're trying to gif 🙃 i'll share some of my tricks under the cut!

One of the things I'd first like to show you, though, that in most of my scenery gifs, the full footage does include the playable character in the shot (in the case of third-person games). As an example, in this uncharted set i made recently, this is what the full shot of one of those gifs looks like:

I use the PS5's built in recording system to record video in 1080p, making the width 1920px which is a lot bigger than a dash-wide tumblr gif (540px); because of this, even if the character is in the shot, you can make a gif of the scenery without too much trouble. Like in this shot, i can crop out to only keep the lower right corner, and the final gif will still be big and sharp enough to work!

However, sometimes the character does indeed get in the way, and one of the tricks i use is showcased in the gif above: turning their back to whatever part of the scenery you want to gif. You get the least wide part of the character in the frame. Also, lot of games tend to use many idle animations, sometimes causing rogue arms to flail around in your desired scenery shot. this positioning usually negates all of that!

Also, some third-person games allow you to zoom in, I believe naughty dog games sometimes do by pressing the 'aim' button when you're not holding a weapon; this sometimes allows for a good wide shot without a character in it, too. but that takes a little experimenting based on the game you're playing!

One of my favorite tricks, that may or may not work based on the game you're playing and the environment your character is in, is basically backing your character up as close to a wall as possible, and then moving you camera up against the wall as well. This can make the character completely disappear, potentially leaving you with a beautiful wide scenery shot. is kind of hard to explain, i hope this video i conveniently have of me doing this in the last guardian explains it a bit (with me Struggling because this beloved game's controls are so wonky). there is a wall right behind me and i'm moving the character up against it:

hope that kind of gets across what i'm doing - of course this only works if you have something like a wall to back into.

I’ve recently seen an argument you’ve had with a black!girl x kpop writer, and even though I’ve never been too fond of slapping a race on that kind of content, as I also feel that it’s fetishizing, I found a lot of your responses to be very thought-provoking and worth looking into (which I did). As a black person who does enjoy K-pop out of my love for music of all cultures (including French music, and Middle-eastern music), I couldn’t help but feel guilty for supporting certain artists: Should I feel guilty? Is it okay if I listen to them at all? Another thing I wanted to point out is that I agree that anime is VERY UNSAFE for black viewers and I never understood why black people (or people in general) wanted to be associated with it. I find it to be very exploitive of black culture, BIGOTED, and perverted as a whole—not my cup of tea.

But back to K-pop and the associated content here on tumblr, do you think it’s harmful that I read NSFW kpop ff (even if it’s not race-specific, but just random ones) in general? Is consuming SFW kpop fiction wrong too, even if it isn’t race specific?

I admit that i find some of these men attractive and reading the stories people come up with are interesting, but I never want it to be perceived as a fetish when I just find it fun. Though, perhaps I should reframe my idea of fun and find healthier means of enjoyment if you recommend. ✅

I’m a black teen in a society where Asian people are glorified, and I just really don’t want to be apart of anything that contributes to racism, self hatred, anti black ideologies, or that could hurt me or my people. First, let me say that I appreciate the time you took to reach out to me. This is the dialogue I was seeking to have, before folks got defensive about it in that other thread. But, your response made it all the more worth it. I like public discussions, because even if the person I'm talking directly doesn't get it, then there's always people reading it that may gain something from what's been said.

You sent me 2 Asks on here, so I will answer both in this one ask, if that's okay.

I never want to be the person that tells people what they can and can't, or should and shouldn't do. My only intent is to inform people about the choices they make, while also leading by example and sharing why I don't indulge in certain things. That said, I have zero tolerance for cultures, religions, music, etc that disparages Black people globally. I don't know where you live, so for the sake of discussion, I'm going to assume you live in the US (feel free to correct me on that). As such, I don't even listen to Rap/Hip-Hop music, nor engage in the culture as much as I used to when I was much younger, for this same reason.

When I was your age, Hip-Hop was the voice of the people, that spoke to our issues of Oppression. Now, it's become a corporate-controlled, cultural catch-all for all the worst elements of our community: violence, crime, materialism, misogyny, substance abuse, sexual deviancy, gang/prison culture, use of harsh/ugly words, and an overall lack of intellectual growth. So, I take in very little Hip-Hop these days, and the little that I do take in, is usually from years past. Music for me should always be uplifting and inspiration for every listener, but very little music from contemporary Black America speaks of love, respect, etc. Its all depression music now.

So, instead of recommending what not to listen to, I much rather recommend some music genres that you could listen to, either instead of or in addition to your current listening choices. First, I think every one could benefit from listening to music that came long before them. I highly recommend listening to the music your parents, grandparents and great-grandparents listened to when they were your age and older. It was artful, soulful, and fulfilling in all the ways that current music is not.

Also, I personally do not listen to Middle Eastern and French music, because both these groups are highly oppressive to Black people. Nonetheless, it always amazes me, how Black people the world over will indulge in everyone else's genres, but not our own. As such, I would suggest dabbling in music from around the African Diaspora. Caribbean music (Reggae, Soca, etc), Afro-Latin Jazz, and Continental African (Afro-Beats, Amapiano, etc) are great places to find soulful, melodic, and rythmic music, directly from your own Ancestors. Tjere are a dozen different Caribbean music styles, & dozens of African styles. On my own page, I regularly post music under the tag "#Shango's Playlist". That could be a great point of reference for you with new music.

As someone who is a writer, and has collabed with other artists on things in the past, it's weird watching Black people try to convey the Black experience via a non-Black lens. I've seen artists and writers mimic the Anime style and aesthetic, to the point that some of them try to even go to Japan to get jobs as illustrators, only to get rejected as soon as they get off the plane. It's sad and embarrassing, just how disconnected we seem to be about how the world works. But I digress....

I would say to at least try to balance the non-Black content that you indulge in, with actual Black content as well. Non-Black people should not live rent-free in your head, when your own people don't live there as well. But ultimately, K-Poop is racist, whether NSFW, or SFW. And this is why I don't ever, and would never indulge or partake in it.

Furthermore, I also have no interest in K-Poop's watered down & exploitative take on the Black experience. If I wanna see people twerking with bandanas, gold teeth. & fake dreads, I can watch Black rap videos for that 🤷🏿‍♂️. Just like I don't wanna see non-Black women with fake butts & fake lips, when I can worship those natural traits on Black women.

Admittedly, I would always rather see Black people developing an attraction for their own first and foremost. And ultimately, it is in fact fetishizing those people. But it's good that you are at least willing to seek healthier (key word) means of enjoyment. I don't think in this society, Black people (especially the youth) are taught Black Love, as the media only portrays Black people with non-Black people on TV, marketing, etc. This is how misguided notions about beauty gets pushed on people, especially Black people, who suffer from self-esteem issues in this regard.

I don't understand the obsession with Asian people either, especially as a Black person. And that goes beyond their treatment of us as Blacks. The unparalleled Beauty of the Black Woman, and the raw power and strength of the Black Man is something that no other group can compare to. Personally to me, Asian women look like little boys to me; all small, frail, awkward, uncoordinated, etc, and that's not something that I personally find appealing. Not to say that every Black person is big and powerful, but there's a style and grace and charm to Black people that no other group has. Which is why I highly suggest tapping into that from your own people, be it in the form all of our creative expressions (music, dance, art, etc). Doing so will also help unlock all those wonderful qualities within yourself as well, because art imitates life (as I'm sure you know), and so Black expressions are reflections of all the wonderful qualities that are within you.

Honestly, I really don't focus on what non-Black people do or don't do. Most of these Non-Black People feel the exact same way about us that the K-Poop people do, so they already have that in common. As Black people, I believe that our primary focus should come from, and should be on ourselves. Every other group puts themselves first, and we should be doing the same.

hello this is my first ask!

i had an fp (im still trying to get over btw) i feel like shes not being understanding at all? she knows i have bpd and one time i got angry at her bc she was being salty with me for no reasons and i said a few things that were sort of unnecessary but the way she is treating me after that is a little too much compared to what i told her? this happened a few months ago btw and shes still acting like shit with me just bc of that

at this point she's literally punishing me oml😭

she is diagnosed with something i won't be mentioning and was always understanding of her case but whenever i overthink and talk to her ab it she gets upset she doesnt take my feelings in consideration at all knowing that she knows quite a lot ab bpd and i told her ab her being my fp

after that we took a break from talking to each other and went back to talking again but i'm starting to realize how much the friendship is becoming toxic??? yesterday i saw something she said and it made me overthink a lot to the point where i split so i ask her ab it and guess what? she was salty... again! like you know i cant control my overthinking

anyways, it feels like shes being forced to talk to me and not because she actually enjoys talking to me.

i was thinking ab cutting her off bc this "friendship" is causing more damage than good and i seriously dont need anymore things. do you have any tips on how i can cut her off?

It sounds like you’re in a really tough situation and I can empathize with friends being toxic. I think cutting it off with her is a great idea, and that was going to be my advice, but it looks like you already know that it’s toxic and you want to get out of it, which is great! I’m happy that you can see that it’s a toxic relationship and you want to look out for your own mental health and cut her off.

There are a few ways you can go about cutting off someone who’s toxic. One way is to approach her and straight-up tell her how you’re feeling, if you think it would help her understand where you’re coming from. But considering she hasn’t been very understanding so far, if it were me, I wouldn’t go this route.

What you could also do isn’t as nice, but if you feel like she’s talking to you only because you think she feels like she has to, then what if you stop reaching out to her, and let her come to you instead? Maybe she won’t text you first, and the relationship will fizzle out. However, if she does text you first, then at least you know that she’s trying to put in a little bit of effort, and she could be receptive if you were to talk to her about how it makes you feel when she gets salty at you all because you ask for clarification. And then at that point, you’d have an opportunity to explain that you don’t want to cause tension between the two of you, and ask if she thinks another break would be helpful.

That’s all I’ve really got (I’ve done both of these methods, and they do work, to a degree. It depends on you and it depends on the person you’re breaking it off with).

Recently your sad little bio was shared to me and thought you could use some help in editing it.

You missed some major details that lead to the development of your situation. Such as the time you tried to date rape a girl, or when you tried to abandon your daughter with your abusive ex... the daughter you also claimed was not yours. The time you tried to get one of your closest friends gfs to marry you behind there back. The files of pictures of underage highschool girls you have on flash drives. The many times where you ruined your own relationships by cheating with exs and other random girls on your social accounts. And those are just the tip of the iceberg. You weren't there for your friends when they needed you and ultimately it was your actions and lack of effort to ever do better that lead to one of your "oldest friends" removing you from the group chat.

And even though I may have severed my connection to you did not mean they did. Ultimately that rested on your shoulders again. But given the lies and gaslighting they witnessed I wouldn't blame them if they refused to listen to your stories. And just because I was the one to tell you I wanted nothing to do with you didn't make things my fault. No you have just yourself to blame, to blame for the lies, the betrayal and the several times you crossed there boundaries, the times you hurt them and for all the times they went out of there way for you to have you fuck everything up. You are a toxic narcissist who likes to be the victim, you blame women for all of your problems. You never own up to anything. But you don't need me to tell you your a narc. You wrote yourself a whole bio.

You lost your friends based on your actions. Btw they would have left you sooner had I not talked them into giving you another chance when you hurt Sam. And that was my mistake. I should have let them exile you then.. maybe it would have opened your eyes if you couldn't push a your blame off on just another woman messing up your life.

Hope one day you can hold yourself accountable for your problems and move on, for your new friends sake.. No one who knew you wants anything to do with you. And that's just the sad truth of what happens to a narcissist. You always want to blame your bad luck.. well maybe it's time to take responsibility for your actions and take a good look in the mirror. You were a bad friend and caused all of them trouble. You betrayed them and lied to them even when they tried to help you. There is a reason why they don't message you back when you try to reach out. And if you really think its because I have that much control on anyone elses messages and replies you again would be mistaken. But go ahead and blame me and every other female who has had the misfortune of ever dealing with you. If it helps you sleep and helps you hopefully become a better person I will just consider it my act of good will.

Hey Jude I’m really struggling with a situation that stresses me out. So in March I became friend and started to hang out with this guy at uni. I introduced him to my other uni-friends and we hang out all together. So I noticed that he was very flirtatious with me and at the beginning I just acted as if nothing was happening. I then slowly started to develop feelings for him but I didn’t realized yet so in meantime I was seeing other people (he was doing the same btw). We used to text every day and spend hours in phone calls but everything changed when one night I was hanging out this girl (I’m bi) and I met him. He knew that I was dating her but I think seeing me with her in person was different for him. He started to distance himself and would take hours to answer a text so I stopped contacting him. We barely texted during the summer and when September started we started seeing each other again for the lessons. My feelings for him were clear now and I wasn’t seeing anyone else and he began to talk to me as he used to do (even if at the start he was a bit cold). After some weeks I decided to make a move and one time when we were alone I kissed him. He was surprised but not in a bad way and we decided to go on a date the same night, but after few hours he texted me that he couldn’t go anymore. The next day he showed up at uni and acted like nothing happened. Since he wasn’t talking about that I decided to not talk about that either. Until some weeks later we were alone on the train to go home and for a specific motif (who would take too much space to explain) I called out his behavior and called him a coward and other things and I finished by saying I wasn’t sure to be friends anymore. He stopped coming to uni (it’s been three weeks) and I didn’t contact him since. I have to add that his mother is really conservative and made him very clear that she wouldn’t tolerate him dating a bi girl (he said this one time during a call before he distanced himself) and I think me being bi is a problem to him (even if he would never admit that). This stresses me out because he eventually will come back to uni and he will stay constantly with me because we are in the same group.

Friend group dynamics can be challenging, especially if there is someone in the group with whom you are no longer friends. I would recommend setting and enforcing boundaries in your relationship with him.
