Ayumi is my OC who is the daughter of Kuchiki Byakuya (Bleach) and Tomoyo-hime (TRC).

Here is the sketch version of this artwork.

I'm extremely pleased with how this artwork turned out, as I struggled with the background's perspective. The colors also turned out well as I was a bit unsure what colors I should use with the background and Ayumi's dress to make everything feel harmonious. Not to mention, I feel like my drawing skills have improved.

I handcrafted this with love over the last couple of weeks, feverishly trying to finish in time. You may be surprised to hear that there’s no readily available amigurumi pattern for a blob of seaweed, so I had to make it up as I went 🤣

Only a man who appreciates beauty in the simplicity of form while also promoting health benefits could have come up with this. I love him for it. What a dweeb.

requested by anon: I saw you were taking requests! Can you please write headcanons for Byakuya with a nerdy s/o who loves astrology and flowers, and studies them a lot?

☕ I actually haven’t written headcanons in a while so I hope this is OK nonnie! Thank you for your request and enjoy!

Kuchiki Byakuya loves you for who you are. That means regardless of what you do or what you enjoy, he’ll always be fond of you. With that being said, if you happen to have similar interests as he does, he’ll simply have one more thing to love about you!

Etiquette and intelligence are important to him. He enjoys anything that invokes thought or inspiration. When he learns of your fondness for astrology and flowers, he’s quite intrigued.

Byakuya is into calligraphy as well as the more traditional arts and hobbies like tea ceremonies or martial arts. He’s not as well-versed in the more artistic, abstract side of things — no disrespect to Wakame Ambassador, of course — which is why he appreciates that you’re there to give insight. He always looks for your input on things.

He does have some basic knowledge of astrology, namely what zodiac signs there are and the months they cover. He doesn’t really believe it makes up one’s character, though.

Regardless of his scepticism, he always indulges you whenever you bring it up. ‘Hitsugaya is such a Sagittarius!’ He doesn’t quite understand what that means, but he trusts your opinion.

As for flowers, the moment he finds out you’re interested in them and the language, he’s ready to have the servants rearrange the garden to your liking.

He likes spending time with you. You could sit in silence and read books over some tea, or you could take flower arrangement classes together on your days off.

The halls of the Kuchiki manor are decorated with his calligraphy banners and your floral arrangements. He likes how they make the manor feel like a home.

All in all, he’s very supportive of your interests. If you want to take a class for something, he’ll endorse it without hesitation. Nothing makes him feel more fulfilled like seeing you happy and he’ll do whatever he can to keep it that way.

Belach has so many incredible characters, that it is hard to choose just 3 but here they are:

Byakuya Kuchiki: Fun fact my first-ever Anime crush 💕 (childhood crushes don't count...this was my very first conscious crush and the one that made me go into the fandom and begin reading fanfics for the first time) I just love my kuuderes . Everything about him makes me go crazy, I love his personality, his design, his sword ( specially since I am obsessed with cherry blossoms) but more importantly I love his character development and growth.

Yoruichi Shihouin: MY QUEEN, MY GODDESS, MY UNIVERSEEE!!! another of my powerful, independent, badass, sexy girls that made me question many things about myself 🌈. + She is also a cat and I loveee cats!!! Love everything about her, her playfulness, strength, and reliability.

Urahara Kisuke: Gotta love a shady questionable mentor with ulterior but noble motives. the brownest flag I've ever met (the perfect mixture between being a red flag and a green one 😂) So goofy, so childish yet such a genius and a reliable key player in the entire story.

11.- Favorite Opening theme?

Eassssyyyyyy!!! Op. 13 I've been obsessed ever since that December day in 2010 :') so this song has been on my top ten Anime op and songs in general for 14 years!!!

12.- Favorite ending theme?

This one I had to think for a few minutes but after listening to all of them again, I must say "Haruka Kanata" by Unlimits ending 28.

21.- If you could be in the bleach universe would you be a soul reaper, visored, human, Quincy, Espada, or Arrancar?

Ooooohhhh PLEASEEEEEEE let me be a soul reaper and put me in squad 6 just so I can serve and see my beloved Byakuya all day, every day, bake him Wakame Ambassador cookies, do or deliver paperwork, work extra hours, so he can see how committed I am to the squad to him you can bet I will try my hardest to rise in the ranks and be as close to him and Renji as possible 🥰

help this is so cute!! you have no idea how happy i am when i was writing this 🥹 i hope you don't mind me writing this in a freeform (like not in a real fic format. just my thoughts and rambles.)

✨ long rambles under the cut ✨

okay so if ichigo and reader are getting married he'd definitely insist on moving out! it's his only chance to escape isshin's morning kick and his insane fatherly love. also, ichigo absolutely don't want his old man gawk at his s/o and stupidly stick around them the whole day. it's annoying as hell. (ichigo and karin are gonna protect reader at all cost)

isshin will 100% ugly cry on the first time he met reader, shaking their hands frantically, thanking them from the bottom of his heart that they'd even spared a glance on his rebellious, unlovable orange haired son. (he's getting a getsuga tensho from said son.)

after all banters and jokes, isshin might get a little serious (his highest record is 11 seconds flat) and talk about what it is like to walk down a lifelong journey with a shinigami. he has his worries but isshin knows they both are strong together, which reminds him of the day he come the decision of marrying his wife. (cue, isshin rush to that huge ass poster of his very beautiful wife and starts crying all over again)

oh, and isshin is giving them the protection amulet too bc he can't really trust his son on anything. (getsuga tensho on his ass this time)

now, ichigo was surprised to find that his sweetest, cutest little yuzu is not happy about his marriage. (ngl his heart died a little inside) i mean, she isn't exactly opposed to it. in fact, she couldn't be more happy to know his brother found his true love. it's just a teensy bit of jealousy that every younger sibs have for their onii-chan. not to mention, ichigo is rarely at home ever since he started his substitute shinigami job. their family bonding time is only limited to dinner, (sometimes ichigo skip that too) and now you're telling her she's getting none of them??!! just imagine she couldn't cook sunny side up and omurice for him anymore. 😭💔

but fret not, guess who's gonna come save the day!?? it's kon-sama!! okay no he's gonna be bostov for a couple of days, let her dress him up in pink dresses and frills to cheer her up a bit. bc kon self-proclaimed he's ichigo best buddy and would do anything for him.

in exchange, kon wants to be the host on his wedding day. (he ended up being the mascot…yk those that are attached at the front of the car) and, the karakura rangers all got the memo and are here to support yuzu and help her navigate through her emotions. (ichigo is deeply moved, not realizing how many good friends he actually has)

eventually, yuzu understands and feels slightly embarrassed that she threw a tantrum over something small like this. (she's so precious okay everyone give her a hug 🥺) but she's a little stubborn though. like she feels sorry but she's not apologizing this time. ichigo and reader will be invited to dinner, where she cooks up a feast with all her onii-chan's favorite food. “they say lock a man's heart with good food so you still have a long way to go, hmph!” she proudly declares with a smug grin, prompting ichigo to ruffle her hair, just like how he always does.

bonus:

ishida makes the best wedding attire for them. he may have accidentally added too much frills on ichigo's though.

i know we said kon will be the mascot but rukia is offering her building-sized chappy too. and she's drawing all the invitation cards by hand! be grateful ichigo!

“nii-sama! how about thank you gift of chocolates in the design of wakame ambassador!”

“hm…splendid suggestion, rukia.”

“kurosaki-kun! did you know chocolate goes well with mayonnaise!”

chad and renji may be all cool on the outside but they're secretly competing to be the best man. if they were to give a speech or something on that day, don't be surprised to find them rehearsing at urahara's training ground.

renji would come up with the corniest speech ever that he can't read it without getting his face as red as his hair.

chad is naturally a man with few words so he'd probably write a song instead. best man award goes to him pls 👏🏻

Today my students were working on a group project and got to talking about Naruto (the natural landing point when doing an activity about the carceral state... though HONESTLY, YEAH--)

So, my children were challenging me to name Pokemon today and as I was doing my best (their standards are very high!!), my husband blurts out "Ambassador Seaweed." After I got done laughing so hard that I fell over, he then hits me with "So...when he says his own name, is it Byakuya doing a funny voice, or does he just say it in Byakuya's regular voice?" I replied that of course it's in Byakuya's regular voice, Byakuya would never do a funny voice.

Now, in the Halloween episode, Wakame Ambassador is very much played by Byakuya's voice actor, but they're also Doing A Bit based on the Renji-Byakuya fight. Then I remembered that the Ambassador also appears in BBS, and based on this video, he does very much just seem to just have Byakuya's voice.

🤡 - What’s something dumb they’re embarrassed about?: Byakuya too likes Chappy the Rabbit, but no one, and I mean no one, will ever know. He's embarrassed by it because he believes someone of his standing in the Kuchiki household shouldn't be interested in such things...doesn't stop him from using the Chappy plushies to play with his niece though (albeit in his stilted, Byakuya way and also including a plushie of the Wakame Ambassador).

💓 - What are some signs they’ve fallen for someone? How do they show their affection?: when she first realises she's fallen for someone, Isane will get a bit stuttery around them and trip over her words. She gets shy, looks at them when they're not looking only to look away when they turn to her. As time goes on though, these gradually fade away and she become comfortable with the fact she has feelings for this person and may smile at them more than she does with other people.

🎢 - Do they like amusement parks? What’s their favorite ride?: Omaeda will tell you he loves all the daring rides, one's with a huge height and a steep drop. In reality though, he's on the spinning teacups with the excuse that he needs to take his little sister on some of the rides...just looking at that one rollercoaster everyone else is going on makes him feel queasy and he doesn't ruin his nice threads and show how scared he is of the ride, so....

🍪 - How well can they bake?: Komamura has tried his hand at baking a several times with varying degrees of success. He has to be weary of when he's shedding, so me makes she to wear clothes and gear that cover up most of his body (including his head...so yes, he uses the helmet even then). He mainly bakes cookies and biscuits for his pet dog, but also tried his hand at baking for his division. Everyone agrees he probably better at baking for his dog. Iba isn't sure how to feel about his captain's baking - it's not exactly his definition of 'manliness' - but he sees it makes him happy and encourages him, even willing to taste test the baked goods he made for the division (though one time he did accidentally eat one of the dog biscuits thinking it was for the division).

🌱 - Do they have a green thumb or are they a plant killer?: Kenpachi is a plant killer, though it may have not been entirely his fault. Yachiru once tried to keep a plant in the office, a cactus to be precise. Yachiru was certain you had to water it often, which Kenpachi took to me 'water it every day'. Knowing she liked the plant, he watered it, and it died pretty quickly. Even before this he didn't have an interest in gardening, and what potential the cactus had to him realising maybe he actually likes plants died with said plant.

Ohhhh, you've done it now. I'm going to answer this twice. Once for Shinigami Byakuya, and again for The Green Faery's Speciality: AU Byakuya.

Shinigami Byakuya:

Kuchiki Byakuya has Official Hobbies, and then he has those things that he does when he thinks no one will notice.

Official Hobbies include those things that we already know about (calligraphy, glaring at people, poetry, creating unnecessary paperwork for others, koi, acquiring Inuzuri street urchins and initiating them into the family, orchids...).

The Other Things

I know most people ascribe to this notion that Kuchiki Byakuya has difficulty understanding emotions, particularly in other people. I'm not entirely sure that I agree with this. He just chooses not to acknowledge them. (Emotions or people? Both.)

I do, however, believe that he has spent an awful lot of his time learning to school his face into perfect stillness in the name of trolling people for his own amusement. He got into a lot of trouble as a teenager for speaking his mind (others would call it a 'tantrum'), but now he just messes with people’s marbles. Is he being serious? Is he completely out of touch? Is he just a cold, unfeeling machine? Yes, it makes him seem unapproachable, maybe even cruel, but it also saves him the hassle of having to deal with annoying people and their histrionics. And the bewilderment on their faces is always worth it. (See also: Byakuya’s artwork, and Byakuya’s Comedy Act. He knows.)

He enjoys music and dance, predominantly because this was something he shared with Hisana, and because it was something she did extraordinarily well. For those who are interested, this is one of my key “Hisana Reference” videos.

However, whilst Byakuya may have this wonderful speaking voice, I have long fostered this sneaking suspicion that he is actually tone deaf. Imagine how I felt when I saw This Scene in Rock Musical Bleach. I nearly died. (Did I just sit through Rock Musical Bleach Live Bankai Shows on double speed just to find this precise moment? For you? Yes. Yes, I did. You’re welcome.)

I should point out that Byakuya enjoys music as a spectator. He was forced into music lessons as a child. More to the point, he was forced into music theory lessons as a child, and hated it. He can play the flute, though, but not without putting on a show of annoyance, mostly for effect.

Horror Movies

Shinigami Byakuya is aware of the existence of horror movies. That is it. That right there is the extent of his feelings towards them.

His Favourite Animal.

Does the Wakame Ambassador count?

Shinigami Byakuya likes animals. Provided they are far away and not leaving any evidence of their existence in his home. Koi are his one exception. Living World Byakuya is not nearly so lucky (see below).

The Green Faery’s Speciality: AU Byakuya

Hobbies

Byakuya is something of a whisky connoisseur. This is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, it’s done wonders for his love life. On the other, he lost Ginrei’s brand new Ferrari F40.

Orchids. These are both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, they’ve done wonders for his love life. On the other, Ginrei knows exactly who what his Grandson was doing during that wedding party, and has seen the evidence hanging off of the Paphiopedilum fairrieanum.

Golf. This is both a curse and a curse. On the one hand, it has done nothing for his love life. On the other, it’s nearly as boring as the government ministers who drag him along for ‘business meetings’.

Horror Movies

They exist.

Truthfully, he enjoys a classic horror noir, or a slow-build psychological thriller. He finds the teenagers that feature in the 70s/80s slashers to be unbelievably annoying, and frankly they deserve whatever happens to them.

Now, he’d never openly admit this, but he does find Hisana’s reactions to horror films highly entertaining (nervous wreck that she is). Plus, she always snuggles up that little bit closer in bed afterwards. You may ask why on earth she’d be watching something that makes her so jumpy. Answer: her “horrid, little goblin” sister.

His Favourite Animal

You come to me at a time when I am writing about how Hisana acquires a very particular nickname, Kitten.

You need to understand that Byakuya has a very complicated love-hate relationship with cats. Mostly he loves to hate them, but then Hisana comes in to his life, and that means that he has to make peace with Emperor Māu, the most cantankerous and hideously judgemental Persian to have ever graced the face of the planet.

In Ring Out, Wild Bells, Byakuya has to contend with Gary. Readers haven’t met Gary yet, but if Dave the dog is worthy of praise, Gary is an absolute legend. Byakuya ultimately bequeaths him his precious scarf.

ROWB sees Hisana adopting all manner of previously rejected pets and rescues. As Renji puts it:

“That’s Hisana. She loves to love the unlovable.”

Ginrei half-turned to his grandson, who was still staring disdainfully at the cage of rats, clapped him on the shoulder and said, “There’s hope for you yet, Boy.”

It took a couple of moments for his words to sink, by which time Ginrei had already left. “Well, that was unnecessary.”

Of course, Byakuya would never admit to this publicly, but Gary... Gary may just be his favourite.

▹ headcanons of our sweet noble being a dad. tw: well, pregnancy of course. careful a little spoiler, if you don't know who Ichika is, then just ignore this, please. sfw. these are simple headcanons, the way I imagine Byakuya be with a baby and based on how Kubo addressed he acts with and towards Ichika ▹ wc: 800

Byakuya would like to have just one child. Is not he is not interested in having a million with you, but, he knows that he wants to give that baby all the love and attention as possible, and sharing isn’t an option. At least during the first years of the baby’s life.

He would, for the love of God we all know he would, ask for his servants to craft the exact replicas of his own attire in baby size. From kenseikan (which you will have to remind him that babies have no long hair), a mini gimpaku (mint green, of course) to tiny, tiny white gloves embroidered with the Kuchiki clan symbol.

Speaking of the Kuchiki clan emblem, everything in the baby’s trousseau will have it on. White, pure cotton, hypoallergenic, as expensive as ten manors. You told him it isn’t necessary, but you know it’s futile. Nobody deserves the best than his own family, and he will give you even more.

You will wake up one day, and you will see your son/daughter dressed in some kind of green blorb attire; yes, Byakuya design an onesie with Wakame Ambassador for his baby. No, you aren’t taking it away. Yes, he will hire a photographer to make a special photography session with his descendant dressed in that. A photo he will put in his own office next to an Ichika one he took one day when they were training with their Zanpakuto. Cause proud uncle, always.

And Wakame Ambassador will be present everywhere too. From plushies, the first one personally sewed and embroidered by him. The baby, carrying the Kuchiki blood, will obviously cling to it for dear life. And you couldn’t ask for more, seeing baby and dad sleeping on your bed with the plushie in between them? Yes please, someone draw it.

He won’t be an absent nor cold father. Contrary to what many people might think, Byakuya is a person who really takes time to be with his family. Same as he attends the many events and reunions when his sister isn’t able to attend, he will be there for his baby. Since the Quincy invasion, he has changed for the better, and the moment his dark sky eyes meet his newborn’s he will melt, to the point of showing the sweetest smile you’ve ever seen drawn in his lips.

Byakuya will lift his baby in arms, with utmost care and pure delicacy. He would look, inspect every corner of his own blood, and then snuggle the baby in his arms. The moment he feels the chubby cheeks of his newborn against his chest, it will mark the start of the most pure bond nobody will dare to break nor even threat. He will swear -in silence- that will protect his descendant with everything it takes.

The noble will try to train his kid since baby, but he won’t be able to be really strict. Same as happened with Ichika, his child will become his weakness. Some times you will have to scold him for letting the kid do whatever he wants with him. Byakuya looks like a cold one, but in reality he would count the hours all throughout the working day to go back to you and his baby. He wants to play, to laugh with you two… he might not tell you, and probably he will never do, but with him words aren’t necessary.

Then, when the baby becomes old enough to attend the academy (cause of course the next head of the Kuchiki clan is not only strong as hell, but also has inherited dad’s sense of service, responsibility and novelty) there will be some weeks of pure chaos. “NO, HE WILL BE HOME-SCHOOLED!” Byakuya will shout. “Honey, he needs to make friends. I know you’ve been home-schooled, but, don’t you think he/she/they deserves to experience the academy, make new friends and perhaps even found a lover?” the last part was just to tease him, but, after so many nights discussing (and perhaps so many kisses to convince him) he gives up. His baby is gonna attend the Shinigami academy, and he wouldn’t be more proud of everything his son/daughter does.

Oh, and speaking of which… he will pick up, personally, his little bundle of joy. Some people will feel a little intimidated that the sixth captain of the Gotei 13 is there with his cold stare and his golden noble things, but he is gonna become an active member of the organization just to make the academy an even better place for his child. (And also, because he has met the joy of gossiping with other parents while waiting for his child to get out of class)

Byakuya will be the happiest man in the world. The proudest father. His baby, his weakness and also his strength. His genes will run stronger in the kid, and, some afternoons you will be happy to see through the window at both battling with wooden swords, with smiles on their faces and a happy ending with no end for a soul who suffered so much… 💖
