Byakuya getting hugged by his daughter Ayumi. I imagine Byakuya would be a very doting father and his daughter would just be sweet. ^^
I tried to draw a shoujo background behind Ayumi for the sake of the sweet moment and otherwise draw a relaxed atmosphere. Hopefully, their love for each other can be seen in this pic.

Ayumi is my OC who is the daughter of Kuchiki Byakuya (Bleach) and Tomoyo-hime (TRC).
Here is the sketch version of this artwork.
I'm extremely pleased with how this artwork turned out, as I struggled with the background's perspective. The colors also turned out well as I was a bit unsure what colors I should use with the background and Ayumi's dress to make everything feel harmonious. Not to mention, I feel like my drawing skills have improved.

This is my Bleach x Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle fan character Kuchiki Ayumi who is the daughter of Kuchiki Byakuya and Tomoyo. Ironically, both Ayumi and her father (Byakuya) have a birthday in January~. So I think the Kuchiki household will hold a big birthday party during that week... (Ayumi's birthday is January 27 while Byakuya's is 31.)
I really like the fact I managed to put in this picture lot of symbolism. So, let me break you just what kind of symbolism this picture truly has;
Ayumi's kimono is cobalt blue colored (yes, I've actually a copic of that color) that is Sixth Division's color.
Ayumi is holding camellia which is insignia of the Sixth Division. (Yes, there are camellias of different colors. I chose one that is nearly pink.)
In her kimono, there are sakura petal patterns... (even those might look like camellias...) which of course symbolize Senbonzakura~!
Here and there in her kimono are half-moon patterns that are pale purple. If you look closely at Tomoyo's usual attire, you can see in it pale purple-colored half-moons as Ayumi's kimono has.
Her obi and the collar have dark purple in there, which Tomoyo usually uses in her robes (Plus there are some lighter ones). Purple usually symbolizes spiritualism, but it's also connected to those who have power. (Nobles, for example.)
Here and there in her kimono are mist/clouds that seem to hide some of those half-moons and flower petals. That symbolize's her mother's ability to see in the future, yet the things she sees aren't always the happiest ones...thus, covering partly all "good things".
She has her grandfather's kenseikan, to show her status as a future Kuchiki clan leader.
Those ropes in the background have some ornaments in those that all are connected to somehow Nihon, Tomoyo's original home.
The curtain and those silk strings are some things that I connect to Nihon's decoration, especially what nobles would have in their mansions.
The rest of the background is yellow because I wanted to show Ayumi sort of comes from 'light'. After all, she will be the future Amaterasu, 'sun goddess', and her powers will be connected to light.
So all in all, there is a lot of symbolism in this pic. It was really difficult to at first figure out what I should put into Ayumi's kimono because I wanted to make it look stylish yet I wanted to show with it just whose daughter she is. And you can only guess how much trouble it was to figure out the background and matching colors in it! But in the end, I think I managed in it. 🙂
