Danny raises Superman au

So we all know that Superman touched down in Kansas and was adopted by the Kents and bla bla bla. But you know what state also has farms and is only like 600 miles away? Illinois.

So Danny is chilling in the countryside, enjoying his sweet, peaceful early retirement when an alien pod, that's a little a lot off course, suddenly crashes near his house. When he checks it out, there's a baby inside. Welp looks like he's a father now. No way is he risking the government getting their greedy little mits on this precious ray of sunshine.

Clark grows up with a father who teaches him early on how to control his powers and use them for good (They may or may not stop a robbery or two occasionally). He also gets two cool aunts. One is free spirited and always bringing him souvenirs from her travels. The other is very grounded and teaches him many techniques to deal with his conflicting emotions (his father is not happy when he uses said techniques on him).

Danny for his part is happy we his son develops a support system like he did. They can even actively help him beat up the villains! He's overjoyed at the man Clark becomes and even happier when he brings home an ace reporter who knows how shifty the government can be. He might be already saving up for their wedding but who can say?

One of my favorite things in superhero stories is when the hero has given all they can. They're trapped and surrounded. Whether it be a corrupt government or some other villain, they're trapped and can't escape. Their powers aren't enough, especially not with the civilians in the area.

And the civilians see this and step in. They surround the hero. Those with no powers see all the hero has done and they protect them. They surround them and they protect the heroes from the villains.

Here is my vision for the final battle in season 5 of stranger things:

First thing that is important to address - in my vision of this season, something that is established and near and dear to me is MORE KIDS WITH POWERS.

Why on earth did we bring in this character to mentor El for one episode and why oh why did we mention her again in season 4 if not to bring her back in the fight against Vecna? (important to note - i do not really want her whole crew back, just Kali)

Now here comes the new part.

If we’re bringing Max back, I want her to come back with like a baby version of El’s powers (a la Harlan season 2 of umbrella academy). Let her push stuff or mind hop or something. I want to see Max as both herself and something new after everything that went down in season 4.

And finally, the one I’ve been waiting seasons for… GIVE ME WILL WITH UPSIDE DOWN POWERS. I want to see this man Layla from Sky High it up with those vines.

Let these ‘different’, broken, and heroic kids take on Vecna and let Eleven work with a team of super powered kids rather than the entire burden falling to her like it has for seasons (i’m bored of it this is an ensemble show) Like she can have the final blow but why not use a team of super kids?

Now for the final battle.

I don’t have it all outlined but here’s the lineup:

On the one side we have Vecna and the full power of the upside down behind him, now up in Hawkins. I’m talking demodogs, demogorgons, the Mind Flayer, and more. (Think Endgame team Thanos)

On the other we have waves of people.

The first being Eleven. This girl is at the peak of her powers at this point. I want her basically flying. She’s ready to fight.

Behind her are the super kids that I just described. Will is taking control of the vines on the ground and feeling out exact where the enemy is. Max is skating pushing herself and upside down monsters around. Kali is using her powers of illusion and projection doing cool shit

Behind these baddies are our Hawkins gang armed to the teeth with weapons and armor (sort of like every season has ended but peak) This is our last team up and I want to see the adults, teens, and kids ready to defend their town one last time, one last plan.

The fight goes on and while they get in a good few licks, it seems like they are about to lose. That’s when we see…

The rest of Hawkins. I want to see these people that stayed. That claimed Hawkins as their home and would not let serial killers, gas leaks, government secrets, or supernatural earthquakes and chasms displace them.

I want to see Dustin’s mom killing monsters to defend him. I want to see Karen Wheeler single handedly take down like 50 monsters. I want to see Holly running with her light brite, leading monsters to where Nancy and Mike wait and as she runs behind them they go apeshit killing monsters like a iconic sibling team (please acknowledge that these two are siblings I’m tired of them just being like randos to each other). I want to see Scott Clarke using science to take down elements of the upside down, helping the boys one more time.

In conclusion

Eleven will land the final blow, she will probably be the ending hero. But I want to see a battle full of humanity. To show how this little town can fight. I want to see the bravery, stupidity, and heart of people within this narrative from the kids with powers feeling different but fighting for a difference, to the Hawkins gang that have been through the wringer but refuse to stop fighting this evil, to the people of Hawkins who have been lied to and manipulated but now will fight for their town, their people, their home.

( another self-indulgent picrew edit i did for akira! ngl, for this one, i didn’t actually have to do much to his hair; in fact, the only thing i MAJORLY adjusted was his shirt and the rest, which includes his collar + necklaces, were drawn by me. ofc, i know that canonically speaking, akira’s a beanpole despite being an underground brawler, but at the same time, seiji also spoke of him having muscles, so i always just thought it was more realistic for him to have a more broader build as shown here.

like, for someone who is supposedly muscular, you would expect him to look a bit more built as opposed to skinny, right? i mean, i guess it’s possible his hoodie could be hiding his muscles, but still, akira being slender doesn’t make sense to me, because him being tall and beefy seems much more plausible. )

We do NOT give Jackie Tyler and Mickey Smith their props for their character growth in the Parting of the Ways. Rose is absolutely amazing, an absolute ferocious beacon of hope and stubbornness and bravery in the finale, the absolute reason why the Doctor lives and the world is saved and an equal hero to Nine, but she has a moment of doubt. A moment of hesitancy.

And Mickey Smith and Jackie Tyler step in and help her save the day. Both Mickey and Jackie give up on their idea of Rose and their hatred of the Doctor and help her pull open the TARDIS. Even within this one episode we see them struggle with their feelings and decide to put them aside and help do this because Rose is right- this is a better way of living your life.

Doctor Who is about ordinary people making extraordinary decisions and making themselves extraordinary and this doesn't just apply to official companions (who I love with all my might)- it applies to the people they love, too. We see it over and over again in Davies' era, with Jackie and Mickey and Sylvia and Tish and Wilfred and Francine and Harriet Jones and every one-off character as well, from Lynda-with-a-Y to Jabe to Gwyneth to Novice Hame to McDonnell to Sally to Chantho to Nancy to all the rest.

Doctor Who is at its strongest when the story is focused on the strength of the bleeding, beating heart of humanity (and character in general, in its non-humans), when the characters drive the story, when at the end of the day you understand why, for all of the world's flaws, the Doctor comes back over and over again because of people like this- not just his companions, but the Jackies and Mickeys and all the rest of the world.

Mina and Jonathan Harker are such good examples of the fact evil can never really know who it is up against.

Jonathan Harker is a mild mannered junior solicitor. Mina Harker is a former etiquette teacher turned housewife. There is nothing to distinguish them from anybody else but they're this great nobleman-turned- monster's greatest foes. They're ordinary people living ordinary lives, until when confronted with great evil their strength of character becomes all that stands between him and victory. You can't target them in preparation because you'd have to target the whole world. They don't stand out. They're not seeking greatness. They simply stand for love, and they don't stop.

In contrast to the gloomy and mysterious world of Heather, Pticenoga and Vaughn’s AU is pretty cheerful and full of nonsense. This is the world of Borderlands, and therefore it is reckless, sometimes dark, but nevertheless very alive. The tone of the art with them, respectively, differs from the tone of the art with Heather. And, since this is an AU (means alternative universe), some moments from the canonical Borderlands were changed. For example, the third Borderlands game and everything related to it doesn’t exist here. Also I should remind you that Pticenoga is my OC way from 2011 and she had nothing to do with the game originally, and I created the Borderlands AU for her several years later.

In this universe, Pticenoga (or Hedwig, or Yadwiga - that's her name; Pticenoga is more like a nickname) is a "messed up" siren who, even before her birth, was influenced by natural Eridium, and as a result her "siren power" went out of control. Normal sirens sometimes have "magical wings" - Hedwig was born straight up looking like a bird, with all the accompanying pros and cons. Shade, her adoptive father, found it pretty amusing and liked it a lot, but most of the other people weren��t that impressed. And, given the fact that the closest bird to her would be a vulture, her behavior did not contribute to her popularity in society. But time passed, she grew up - and Hedwig learned to more or less control her siren powers and she could transform into an ordinary woman. But in this form she loses all the advantages of Pticenoga: she cannot fly, loses her strength and endurance, loses resistance to fire damage, and so on. But she can merge with the crowd now, if it’s necessary. All in all, Hedwig is a woman with a bit of bells and whistles... After all, this is the world of Borderlands. For example, she can smear herself with rotten corpses to use the stench as a weapon. Or in the heat of a battle, she can bite off an enemy's finger, devour it, and ask for more. But in a sense, this craziness is partially the reason why her relationship with Vaughn was developed.

A portion of passion, a portion of humor and a pinch of trash with raw meat - it’s pretty much the recipe for the pairing between Pticenoga and Vaughn. He is a former corporate accountant learning to survive on the wild planet of Pandora; she is a bit of a deranged, "wild" siren, ready to protect her loved ones and punch enemies in the face (not always successful, but nonetheless). After arriving on Pandora, Vaughn discovered his love for crazy stuff and was happy to occasionally let loose his suppressed aggressive side - and Pticenoga is happy to help him with this. But sometimes she is also happy to "calm down" and feel normal, and Vaughn doesn't mind showing her that side of life. Of course, their shenanigans do not always end well, and the "loser" side of Vaughn didn't go anywhere, just like Hedwig's instability. But they are ready to support each other, no matter what. Even if this support sometimes takes strange forms (for example, Vaughn can gather corpses for her if necessary...). Or, as a bonus, Pticenoga can sometimes troll Vaughn a little. But he does not mind; he answers her the same way… when he can. --- Also, I was messing around with GBA sims thing and you can see the result in the end xD --- Almost all interactions are based on me & my husband’s shenanigans The engagement ring was also Borderlands themed

summary: your housemate ghost fell asleep on the sofa with paint on his face and you help.

You went home to silent snoring coming from the sofa. It was your 6’3 housemate Simon Riley, curled up against his duffel bag, recently arrived home from whatever job he has.

Sometimes he’d be missing for weeks, sometimes months, and one time it was a year and a half. Three months into that year and a half absence, an extremely handsome man came knocking on your front door and hands you an envelope full of cash, saying “He said this is for rent.” before just walking away.

The man was full of mysteries, telling you funny stories about his unnamed friends when he got tipsy, having random knives on him when you needed something to be cut, scoffing at the TV when they have bad trigger discipline in movies and tv shows.

But at this very moment, he looks like an ordinary man. An ordinary man with ordinary black paint around his eyes. You know, normal people stuff.

You went upstairs and quickly grabbed your makeup remover, cottonballs, and a couple cotton swabs. You debated whether micellar water would be better, but whatever it is around his eyes seemed industrial strength.

It was a miracle that he didn’t wake up at all. Only swatting your hands away once or twice, muttering “Fuck off, Soap.”

Admiring your clean and stealthy work, you smiled to yourself and wonder what else you can get away with while he’s knocked the fuck out on the couch.

You brought down your whole tray of face products. It’s a sin to skip washing his face entirely, but you feel this is the micellar water’s turn to shine. So you start there.

You got startled awake the next day, someone had shoved you in your sleep. The first thing you saw was Simon Riley looming over your bed, his large body preventing sunlight from hitting your face and your whole upperbody.

“Why the fuck does my face feel nice.”

What.

Blinking sleep away from your eyes for a couple seconds as you stared at his face, you can tell he was miffed. But there’s also something else there that you can’t place.

“If it feels nice then why did you wake me up?” You squinted at him.

“Because I want it to keep feeling nice.”

Part 2

Your mother had described meeting her soulmate, your father, as the most influential moment of her entire life, despite the fact it had been so ordinary.

They had simply been passing each other in a busy marketplace, and happened to brush hands. The static and pull they both felt only meant one thing, and the rest was history.

Your siblings met their soulmates before you, your older brother even having met his as a young child. Maybe that’s why you were chosen, and not them. Maybe that’s why they didn’t fight for you, after all.

The village you live in had a harsh winter, with no crops being able to grow and people starting to freeze to death in their own homes. You had known the village leaders were the superstitious type, but you almost scoffed aloud when they declared the hardships faced must’ve been the work of a vengeful spirit or yokai.

You had been woken up when some of them dragged you out of bed, still in your flimsy old nightgown that did nothing to protect you from the frosty bite to the wind. Your father didn’t intervene, didn’t cry, didn’t do anything as he watched them carry you away. Your mother had broken into sobs when you screamed at her to save you, but still did nothing. Your siblings didn’t even bother to leave their rooms to watch you be hauled off like some livestock on route to a chopping block.

The woods were long and hard to traverse, but it wasn’t long before they had taken you to the centre, using old and frayed rope to tie you by the waist to a thick tree trunk. They didn’t turn back when leaving, didn’t so much as spare you a glance while you screamed and screamed and screamed.

You stopped after ten minutes, instead allowing yourself to cry silently, hoping that you would wake up soon with your parents ready to comfort you, your siblings waiting to laugh off your silly nightmare. No such thing happened.

It’s been about half an hour now. Maybe less. Maybe more. You’re certain at this point that no hungry spirit is going to find you, and instead you’re going to die a slow, cold death, all alone. Well, maybe not slow.

You don’t hear the soft crunches of snow in front of you, too busy staring at your own feet that are starting to go blue.

“Hm, what do we have here?”

Your eyes glance up. For a second you believe that you’re hallucinating, taking note of the clearly wealthy man in a large hat before you, as well as the men in armour situated behind him.

The man raises an eyebrow. “Well?”

Mouth opening and closing, you attempt to splutter out something, but what comes out is a shaky, unsure breath.

He scoffs, moving closer, “Speak up, will you? Or is your throat frozen?”

A cough leaves you, your throat feeling scratchy and dry, but you spit something out nonetheless.

“Th-They l-l-left me h-here,” you stammer, your voice shaking and teeth chattering wildly. Every breath you take feels as though the ropes around your torso are tightening and tightening.

“Who left you here?” He asks, despite the fact that he sounds rather uninterested.

“Th-The village. M-My fa-family. They left me h-here to die,” you whisper, and you’re surprised by the bitterness you somehow have the strength left to conjure. You look up at him, tears still streaming down your face, “H-How cou-could they throw me a-away like that?”

Something in his expression shifts, and he takes another step towards you, head tilting to the side as he considers something.

“Why did they leave you here, then?”

“Sa-Sacrifice to a yokai. T-They thought it w-would s-stop the wi-winter and help the cr-crops grow.”

He chuckles, but there seems to be little amusement in his tone. “How ridiculous.”

You cough again, your body shivering all the more. You’re going to die soon, you know it.

“What would you offer me if I were to save you?”

Hope doesn’t crawl into your veins at his words, instead a dry sob leaves you, “I have n-nothing left to give. Nothing.”

“Not even your gratitude?”

His eyes meet yours once again, and you can’t help but note how very pretty they are, despite the fact you’re on the verge of death.

“I-If you save m-me, I’ll forever be indebted to you.”

“Hm. It’ll have to do.”

The ropes holding you up fall before you can even realise what’s happened, and in turn so do you, landing on your hands and knees, your body quaking violently.

“Up. Otherwise you’ll freeze to death here. Stand up.”

But you can’t. Any apologies you have die on your tongue when he tuts, kneeling in front of you.

He reaches a hand out to roughly pull you up by the wrist, “Archons, I have to do everything aroun-“

His grip on you leaves as fast as it came, and he stumbles back on his feet a little, watching as you peer up at him, eyes wide.

You don’t have much time to consider the consequences of what has just happened, as your body finally gives way, and you collapse into the snow in front of your soulmate.

The tension is palpable and certainly not what you were hoping to land yourself in when you accepted Zhongli's request to be his plus-one aboard the Pearl Galley.

"Forgive me, Mr. Changying, but that's where I'll have to correct you," you tell the stocky man before you. The food and drinks on the table are long-untouched. "Rex Lapis didn't take on such a grand ten-headed and eight-armed form to exterminate those sea creatures. In fact, he personally went door to door to trap them in little Geo contraptions, even having a bit of trouble with the.... particularly wrigglier ones."

Changying's eyes practically roll into the back of his head. "Do you truly believe that rubbish just because that is what's commonly peddled? That the Geo archon, who could raise the mountains and calm the tides without breaking a sweat, found the task of getting rid of tiny sea creatures tedious and challenging?"

Sighing, you say, "Even the gods are subject to being less-than-perfect in their methods. And besides, the damn things were inside people's houses - brute strength would not have been handy at all. Rex Lapis needed to be careful and meticulous so that none of his people were harmed. Hence the Geo cages."

Despite how neatly you'd presented your counterpoint, Changying merely scoffs as he adjusts his glasses. He jabs a finger at you accusingly. "You're lying, just like everyone else," he growls, "and you clearly have no respect for our late archon! Do you even like him?"

Your breath nearly hitches in your throat as you gaze up at him in shock. "Ex...excuse me?"

The man pulls no punches as he continues his rant against you. "How can you so blindly believe what the masses think? Maybe if you were a real Rex Lapis follower like me, you would learn some critical thinking skills and draw more accurate conclusions!"

"I'm afraid I am on the side of my partner here, Mr. Changying," cuts in Zhongli, placing an arm on your shoulder. Relief floods your veins as you let out the breath you'd been holding. "They are correct in explaining that Rex Lapis had to go the simplistic route when dealing with Liyue's sea creature infestation."

Changying's eyes grow wide. "Forgive me, Mr. Zhongli," he murmurs, and you're not ignorant to the way his tone mellows out and becomes more respectful as he continues to speak. "I didn't know you were also in agreement of that story. But let me explain why he likely-"

"It is alright for you to have your own interpretations of events, especially for a being with an expansive history that is always being debated over," says Zhongli calmly, poised as always, "but when these interpretations are unrealistic and you still try to present them as fact...while belittling other people, no less...the line must be drawn somewhere, yes?"

Changying blanches, stammering, "Er, but don't you think Rex Lapis would appreciate deviating thought processes more, especially when..."

Zhongli's eyes narrow ever so slightly, his visage still calm as a pond. "Perhaps so, but what he would not appreciate is his people trying to one-up others in an attempt to prove they are his most loyal followers." Your husband glances at you. "I know my partner well, and they love Rex Lapis dearly. Not only do you accuse them of lying, you also undermine the love they hold for the deity."

His hand brushes against yours and he interlaces his fingers with you, giving a gentle, reassuring squeeze. You smile softly.

Changying scrambles for words, useless excuses and explanations that hardly justify him being on his high horse.

Zhongli, unamused, fires his parting shot. "Far be it for an ordinary man like myself to tell you what to do, but here is some advice: gather reliable citations for your claims, provide succinct evidence, and be respectful of those with opposing views, and perhaps then Rex Lapis would consider you a favorite of his."

With that, Zhongli escorts you away from the scene, knowing full well you will always be his favorite by far - the approving smile he gives you conveys that perfectly.
