Zhongli notices one day that a man tells his lover that two puppies cuddling on the stone bridge there reminds him of them. "They're us," the man says, and his lover, giggling, agrees.
That's an adorable way of seeing things - so now Zhongli finds himself and you in every comforting thing he sees:
He espies two sunflowers standing tall in the garden and thinks of you and him, dancing in the breeze.
Cor lapis and noctilucous jade shine together in a jeweller's display stand, and he tells you, "They are us."
Two toddlers are huddled in a stroller, napping peacefully, and Zhongli immediately tells you this reminds him of you both.
He sees two swans together in the lake, their necks forming a heart and smiles. "Look, darling, these swans are us."
The main couple performing an intricate song and dance in the latest opera makes him turn and tell you, "They are much like us." (He quickly retracts that statement when one of them plunges a sword into the other's heart towards the end.)

Brushing Zhongli’s silky smooth hair, braiding it, maybe even putting flowers on it and he’s just enjoying the feeling of his lover’s fingers in his hair. jsjdsjhdjsjs and then it’s his turn to brush her hair doing the same to her (bonus points if she’s curly)
Zhongli playing with her curls, twirling his fingers in them and slightly tugging on them to watch them bounce (≧∀≦)
Oh how divine~!
Zhongli is the type to purr as your brush his hair, closing his eyes and just reveling in how soothing your touch is. He'd take a look at himself in the mirror, his lovely hair all braided and adorned with flowers, and smile at your own face aglow with pride at what you've done.
And then when it's his turn, first off is a delicate scalp massage, gently massaging in circles. Then, he would whisper how beautiful your hair is as he carefully brushes it, how he loves how the shiny curls cascade and bounce playfully with every movement. Perhaps it's your turn to purr once he twirls it in his fingers!
One thing he likes to do with your curls is gently fluff them. You're so cute when your hair is carefully tousled, and your giggles only serve as proof.
And don't forget the flowers he'll add - roses for passion, lilies for devotion, gardenias for love and refinement and cherry blossoms for beauty.
"You look radiant, my dearest," he'd whisper, drawing you close and meeting your eyes in the mirror. "There is none who can compare."

do you somewhat see zhongli joining randomly on a public zumba workout (yk with those grannies with bright outfits and all that) and would insist for his lover and friends to join? but they're alr running away pretending not to know him HAHAHAHAH
Yes I do see it!! We love our fitness-conscious king!!
He'd look so out-of-place among all the grannies, his young and smooth features a tender juxtaposition, so nobody's surprised when his moves are the cleanest and most flexible.
You're walking the hell away from the scene, but even you need to admit that the warrior god, god-king of the yakshas, god of history, god of gold and god of Geo also turns out to be a god of zumba. His body can move!
Graciously Zhongli would accept the headpats from the grannies when they're all done, himself hardly having broken a sweat. "What a nice young lad! You'll stay fit well into your old age!"
"As long as I have your blessing, that is all I require," he would answer smoothly, this ancient grandpa of a god, and the ladies would all coo and comment that the future of Liyue is bright indeed.
...meanwhile you're waiting for him from behind a store so nobody can associate you with him.

SINI! I have a thot, that’s also somewhat sad!
Ok I’ve been thinking about the dragon reader ask you had earlier and I thought about something that’s been in my brain since 7am this morning.
What if Zhongli met this female nature eastern dragon (who had antler shaped horns because she symbolizes the wildlife) that he met before the archon war and slowly fell in love after her almost tearing him a new one after invading her sacred pool in the forest. She then fights by his side only to die while taking a shot meant for the geo archon. He held her as she passed, whispering to him “Do not cry my beloved, our lives will always intertwine. I will see you again.” Before giving him one last smile as she took her last breath.
He waited centuries for her soul to reappear, he would scout the entire region just to feel a sliver of her soul. However over the years he never found her, until one day he finally returned where they had first met. To be greeted by a woman who resembled his love from so long ago.
At first he was skeptical, until the woman finally turned and as the light became a halo and a glimpse of antlers ghosted her crest. With a gentle smile she took in a breath before speaking.
“Oh my beloved, how I’ve missed you~”

And when the fated moment of reunion arrives at the brink of an innocent dawn, she's there to continue her place in the story of his heart, as if the pages hadn't been left blank for millennia.
He remembers everything about her like it was only yesterday they were frolicking in the fields of Dihua, only yesterday they were glazing jade pendants for prosperity...only yesterday she had sacrificed herself for him.
This time, though, wrapped in serenity against the backdrop of a more peaceful Liyue, history would not dare to repeat itself.
(She'll have to get used to calling him Zhongli, because his other names and titles would raise eyebrows in this day and age, but trifling matters am I right?)

Xianyun brings one of her favorite bubble-blowing contraptions. Ganyu coyly snacks on a whole bouquet of sweet flower petals. Marchosius polishes his favorite cooking pot as he listens. Guizhong cheekily plays her lute during bouts of silence. Xiao caresses a finch while he holds on to his god's every word.
It works; everyone's more relaxed and less on-edge when convening like this.
So anyway, that's how you end up on the Geo Lord's lap while he talks about infrastructure improvements and defensive training.

your writing is what i want to be—your writing style is simply better than what i had first thought! the way you write zhongli is utterly fantastic and beautiful! it’s so cute and i actually cannot get enough of it!
do you have any writing tips? even if it’s one small thing because i’m also trying to write better and definitely want to hear some ideas. i’m not a fandom writer but understanding a character’s personality is somewhat difficult although interesting to understand. i usually write about my own characters so basically long story short, how do you perceive a character’s personality and characteristics overall?
i genuinely cannot wait for what you have in store but all in all, you’re amazing and don’t stop what you’re doing for a second!

That’s such a sweet compliment awww I’m so glad you like my writing style for Zhongli!! I’ve been writing since I was 8 and experimenting with numerous styles, and I find this one best for Zhongli! I’ll write lots more, don’t worry~
Hmm, as for writing tips…I’d say keep reading, try a variety of authors and understand how whimsical or creative they are in dialogues, descriptions, and such. As for characters in particular, observe the way they speak, their mannerisms, and also how their past shapes them, especially for history-rich characters like Zhongli. I’d also recommend to pay closer attention to canon than fanon since characters are prone to being mischaracterised a LOT >_<
And for original characters, I’d suggest trying to have conversations with them, in your mind? Picture how they’d react to certain things, the kind of wording they’d use, and so on. As someone who’s made many OCs for stories on another website, that’s what I did!

I just want to say thank you for creating this blog and also sharing your writing for other Zhongli appreciators (such as myself) to indulge. Please keep it up! I’ll probably send in some Zhongli scenarios that I daydream from time to time for you to consider. ❤️

residing in a teapot with zhongli 🥹 wanting to get away from the world and reality only for him to remind you that "well isn't it convenient that we've created our own little world, darling?" and he conjures your teapot and you gleefully enter it together and he'd be happy to stay with you in there for as long as you want 🥹🥹🥹
Oh how lovely it would be! Sitting under a glimmering tree, sipping tea while chatting about anything and everything...time does not pass here, so leisure is welcome.
You run across the golden bridges connecting each island, inviting Zhongli to chase you - the thrill casts all worries away into the wind. He’d catch you in a field of glittering starlit flowers, laughing as you two roll around in the grass, seeing crystalflies flutter off startled.
And of course the mansion is big and furnished with all your favorite things, making it as homely as the real world. You two would sit on the bed or on the couch by the fireplace, reading the enthralling books and poetry this realm has to offer and quoting your favourite parts.
You'd tell Zhongli all about your travels and the stories behind some of the special furnishings; Zhongli would listen intently even if this is his tenth time hearing it, asking you questions you're more than happy to answer, and praising you when praise is due - which in his opinion is all the time.
Oh and here are some pictures from my own teapot that I think would be nice to spend time with Zhongli at~

I saw the cuteness aggression ask and I'd like to add something. I don't get cuteness aggression, I get cuteness devastation. I see a human baby and I want to break down crying. My cat starts making biscuits on my thigh and I start wailing.
I imagine Morax just sees Reader off in the distance being cute and just falls to his knees. Head in hands, shaking, tears in eyes, unable to handle it.
Some of the other adepti are probably freaking out the first time this happens, he literally collapsed. Like, the tail holding thing, he just needs to excuse himself and then goes and cries in a corner for a couple minutes.
Ahh this is cute and I totally see it!
He just sits on a rock, head in hands, tears welling up in his eyes because you're just so freaking cute and he has no clue what to do about it-
And imagine he's upset one day because it seems like a policy he had set in place for his people doesn't work out as nicely as he'd expected it to, so you go and try to cheer him up...your soft smile and earnest embrace are just too much for him to handle, so he excuses himself, looking even more upset than he was a minute ago..? And you're left standing there like, did you say something wrong?

Zhongli with a lover who is getting annoying heretics demanding she paint better and grander portraits of Rex Lapis. The ones she's previously painted just aren't perfect enough and, to them, is solid proof she doesn't love the archon as much as they do. Even though she's spent hours, maybe days, painting each portrait, they're still not satisfied. How would the almighty God of Geo handle this?
Zhongli knows a lot of his people can be overbearing or even gatekeepy in the sense that they want everyone to see Rex Lapis their way.
But Zhongli was so many things during his reign, so why should only one perspective, one depiction, one narrative fit him? He'd calmly explain this to those heretics, stating that there's no right way to depict the Geo Lord.
"My partner pours her heart and soul into her work," he'd tell them earnestly, "and when such dedication is given to her paintings, is that not true devotion? True love for her god? Irrespective of whether Rex Lapis is painted as a regular fisherman or a deity with eight arms, if there is passion in the craft, then Rex Lapis shall smile upon a person. And judging by the work my partner has done already," he adds, gesturing at all the lovely canvases decorated with expert strokes for love of golden divinity, "it seems He already has."
Most would back off after this, but some would press the matter still - shouldn't he be painted in a way that captures all his grandeur? Why paint him as an aforementioned fisherman?
Zhongli would only laugh airily. "What matters most is not how Rex Lapis appears - rather, his character is also an important element in understanding him, is it not? He was a god who actively took on many forms to get closer to the people he so cherished. A modest fisherman does well to convey his desire to understand the hard work his people put in to put food on the table each night. Remember, it is not just the divine that the Geo Lord is entwined with; it is the beauty of mundaneness as well that makes him much beloved."
And if people are still adamant on their stances - well, Zhongli would not like to escalate the situation, but to protect you from further harassment he can get a teeny bit physical, if need be.

An oblivious reader actually makes so so much sense- Zhongli is a very kind man who does sweet things for the people around him every now and then, so it's only natural you see his gestures as nice and friendly.
Gestures such as, oh, writing a poem about you and reciting it aloud to you. He tells you your radiance had inspired him to be rather romantic in his rhymes - and you'd taken it as the other kind of romantic.
Walking you home when you leave work late, to make sure you're safe. His close proximity to you and the way he holds your hand so assuredly is to keep creeps away, of course, and totally means nothing else.
Buying you little trinkets from the market, because "This reminded me of you, so I simply had to purchase it," or "I remembered you mentioning you liked this color so here you go," or "I saw these matching items on sale and thought each of us could keep one." Wow, what a great friend!
You tell him one day that you're yearning for romantic companionship, to which he tenderly responds, "So am I," so you look up at him, your eyes twinkling, and say -
"Well, being single has its perks, so we should be happy!"
