#the logical argument. is there
"you had one job" okay but like I cackled so much when Gran Torino said "project his legs" to Manual and Rock Lock like LITERALLY were given one job.
I'm loving the season and the episodes and I have NO real complaints but FOR REAL. I feel like. If I were a minor pro with a quirk that was more for support than anything and I was charged with keeping Aizawa and ERASURE safe I would've sacrificed my quirk. They all literally had the same amount of time as Aizawa and Deku were shown to have to register what Ryukyu called out and yet no one could get themselves in front of Aizawa in time. Like. Guys. I love you both. Just. Move over 1 foot. You're already RIGHT THERE

Hot take: I actually think men and women are meant to work together and complement each other and not like,,, dislike each other and be divisive.

Every so often I remember Lirin was a doctor while Dalinar was Blackthorn, and his entire worldview makes a shit ton of sense. I can go on and acknowledge that he was a subject of Sadeas but really... nah. That man absolutely witnessed first-hand the casualties of that war.

Captain America: Civil War pisses me off so much. (I know i just said i love this movie and i do but man it pisses me off)
Like what do you mean you want to hand over control to the people who’s *in the words of the great Nick Fury* stupid ass decision was to NUKE NEW YORK in response to Loki’s attack

I am still baffled by the american line of reasoning that "USA has commited many war crimes in Vietnam/Afganistan/Iraq etc., therefore it would be hypocritical for us to get involved in stopping ukrainian genocide". So you admit that USA has its collective hands covered in blood, and yet your conclusion out of this is not "USA has an opportunity to redeem itself in fighiting in a just war", but "we should allow russia commit war crimes consequence-free" 🤯🤯🤯🤯

its so funny that all minute—the guy who once upon a time hoped to redeem zam—'s team has accomplished is getting him to consider giving up his remaining honor in order to match the level they're playing on ?

Why does no one take advantage of the fact that the sides can literally dress one another? Gimme Remus and Roman arguing about something, Roman getting heated and swearing to chop off Remus’ limbs and keep them from regrowing when Remus suddenly smirks, and points behind them.
Roman just hears a “WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK” before he turns around and sees Virgil there, in a very.. revealing and jaw dropping outfit that makes his brain make dial up noises for the next ten minutes while Remus just laughs at him and Logan sighs in exasperation wondering if he should just make a bet with Patton to get them together at this point.

The number of times I've seen people argue that Bruce is a decent father and that he is not abusive absolutely blows my absolute mind.
Yes, you can hc whatever version of Bruce you want. You can even blame it all on bad writers or reject canon. You can claim comic!Bruce isn't your Bruce and main a different version of him. Those are all valid.
However, you can NOT say that he has ever been justified for hitting his kids. There is no excuse for him willingly laying his hands on his kids. It doesn't matter if the person is drunk, drowning in grief, lost in emotions, whatever. Hitting kids is not okay.
Continually, the physical abuse is a very obvious sign of Bruce being a shit dad in the comics. On top of that, there is so much emotional abuse and manipulation as well. He's shitty as fuck to his kids and there's no reason this is okay. He may love those kids, but that doesn't excuse his behaviors.
Anyways, reject canon Bruce all you want. There's certain aspects of other characters I reject, and DC stands for Disregard Canon. Feel free to have whatever version of Bruce you desire.
What is NOT okay is excusing or accepting canon Bruce's actions/behaviors as acceptable.

To an extent I understand it's because this fandom has overlap with people interested in cat genetics and breeding and the science behind it all, but tbh... I feel Not Great about people calculating exact inbreeding coefficients for Moonpaw.

In order to argue, it is indeed necessary to have a common ground; in other words, to agree about the rules of the game. But in our day dialectic tournaments, like all other bouts of contention, no longer attract people. Thus logic may be relegated to the background.

for real WHERE does the idea that [utdr humans] are nongendered so that "you can project on them" come from. their literal character arcs are about NOT being a blank slate to be filled in by the audience
i think i understand the assumption on some level for undertale, because there is a very intentional effort to make you identify with the "player character" in order to make your choices feel like your own (the beating heart of undertale's metanarrative lies in giving you an alternative path to violence against its enemies after all, and whether you're still willing to persue it for your own selfish reasons. YOUR agency is crucial).
of course, the cardinal plot twist of the main ending sweeps the rug from under your feet on that in every way, and frisk's individuality becomes, in turn, a tool to further UT's OTHER main theme: completionism as a form of diegetic violence within the story. replaying the game would steal frisk's life and happy ending from them for our own perverse sentimentality, emotionally forcing our hand away from the reset button.
i think their neutrality absolutely aids in that immersion. but also, there's this weird attitude by (mostly) cis fans where it being functional within the story makes it... somehow "editable" and "up to the player" as well? which is gross and shows their ass on how they approach gender neutrality in general lol.
but also like. there's plenty of neutral, non PCharacters in undertale and deltarune. even when undertale was just an earthbound fangame and the player immersion metanarrative was completely absent, toby still described frisk as a "young, androgynous person". sometimes characters are just neutral by design. it's not that hard to understand lol.
anyone who makes this argument for kris deltarune is braindead. nothing else to say about it.
