I’m not seeing anyone talk about this, which is baffling. But. Do you guys understand what it means for MCR to come back to Mexico for the first time in 14 years? 14 years after several emo teens were injured in a series of homophobic hate crimes? And what it means for Gerard to perform in a floor-length chainmail gown, in a Joan of Arc costume to miles and miles of people, “an ocean” as he put it, who might have experienced that fear firsthand as queer teens? What it means to see a queer person be themself on stage after all that happened and still STILL say “fuck you I am here and I survived.” It means everything. There’s something about resilience here. Living on despite being burned. ‘For when you are burned for what you believe, you are not ash--you are embers. And I shall remain. Everlasting.’ Joan, Gerard, the teens in 2008, those of us who have been burned so many times but continue living despite it are all embers. They will never fucking put us out, no matter how hard they try.

I full-heartedly believe that love is our essence and that one should love whenever one can, even if it might destroy them.

Becoming a Better You

In my opinion being carefree is apart of self love and learning how to block out negative energy and focus on yourself is the key to being carefree, and here's how you can do it:

1. KNOW YOUR WORTH; being carefreerequires you to know what is worth yourenergy and what isn't

2. FOCUS ON SELF CARE; take care of yourbody cause if you look good, you'll feel good and that'll help you feel carefree

3. MINIMIZE ACTIVITY ON SOCIAL MEDIAsocial media causes stress about things that aren't necessary, so don't kill accountsbecause you'll be bored but try to keepactivity to a minimum

4. LIVE IN THE PRESENT; whatever happened yesterday can't be fixed so don't stress about it. and you can only prepare for the future

5. HAVE POSITIVE FRIENDS; if your friends sit and talk bad about people all the time, you're gaining nothing but negative energy. have friends that don't got tea, but got the juice
