People giving even $1 on my patreon can read this exclusive early site article, my detailed review of the creatures, world and wacky true premise of the overlooked anime, Deca Dence. ($1 patrons also see uploads of sketched creature designs and stuff, too) Deca-dence was seriously overlooked by Western anime fans when it was running, and multiple anime websites even gave it negative reviews based on their *misinterpretation* of what's going on in its world. BOOOOO!!!! Anyway, these are all from the same show:

One day I really ought to stream this whole series on my discord.

_________________________
Author's Notes: I think about Whirl Cyclonus and Tailgate EVERY DAY. They deserve the world, and so I'm going to give it to them.
Tumblr media
“So! As we enter our new universe, and plunge into a world of endless possibility, there’s some important things we’d like to take the time to discuss!”
With a world of infinite possibility and endless promise stretching out before them, one would think- rather one would hope, pray even- that it would be impossible to be bored.
But apparently, once the lost light ripped a hole from one universe to the next, anything was possible. And Whirl was truly, deeply, madly bored. It had only been a deca-cycle and a half since the big jump, and for him, the promise and possibility was waning. It seemed like the crew was set on ‘taking a beat’(ugh) before jumping into anything too risky. Something about healing and resting up after such a climactic series of battles (snore) before running headfirst into more danger. In all honesty, during Rodimus’s disjointed address informing the crew of that matter, Whirl had found it more interesting to do literally anything else.
Like people watching. If there was anything good about the break, it at least gave him the time to take stock of the new energy in the place. There was a denta rotting saccharine cloud of hope and joy in the air. For the first few cycles Whirl had taken part in it as well, the partying, the smiling, the laughing, the dancing, et cetera. But now it was getting a bit old. A bit old was an understatement even.
It seemed like every other bot was hand in hand with someone, or standing a bit too close. Hell even the captain’s balcony reeked of love and joy. Whirl wasn’t a stick in the mud, but it felt like the ~positive and loving vibes~ were pinging off his plating like a constant series of annoying flicks and pokes.
He shuffled a ways back deeper into the crowd, offlining his optic for a brief moment to let the mumbles of the crew wash over him. When he onlined it again, it was in response to a familiar voice-
“Whirl! Hey- Whirl!” Tailgate chirped, waving at the taller bot from his spot sitting next to Cyclonus. They’d been attached at the hip recently, disgustingly cute, a set of words Whirl never thought he’d use in reference to Cyclonus.
Whirl raised his servo, letting him know he was heard as he shuffled on over towards the loverbots. “What’s up?” He asked, cocking his helm and leaning against the wall next to them.
“Isn’t that super exciting- what Rodimus said?” Tailgate whispered, craning up to him. Whirl leaned down a  bit to close the distance. Frag it was kinda hard to have a politely hushed conversation with this height difference.
“Huh? The break? That's the opposite of exciting- sitting on our skidplates for ages? Gimme a break.” Whirl snorted, crossing his arms.
Tailgate gave him a confused look. “What- No! He said we could do renovations since there are some empty hab suites- were you paying attention?”
Whirl squinted at him.
Tailgate continued to look confused.
Cyclonus cycled his vocalizer. “I don’t think anyone but you expects Whirl to listen to a speech longer than a klik.” He said quietly, placing a gentle servo on Tailgate’s shoulder pad.
“OH- yeah-” Tailgate nodded quickly, a bit embarrassed. “Right- So you know how there’s less people onboard now than there were at the start-”
“That’s an understatement.” Whirl muttered.
“-There’s like a ton of uninhabited hab suites now, so he said after the whole announcement meeting we could go claim some to make a whole hab UNIT out of if there are any empty ones around us!” He was giving Whirl a look like it was the most exciting thing in the whole universe. Tailgate was. Tailgate who had stuck his finger in the forehead of a tyrannical dictator. Whirl glanced at Cyclonus. Cyclonus gave whirl a meaningful look. The kind that said something like ‘Humour him?’
Whirl nodded slowly. “... And thats… Exciting.” He said.
“SUPER exciting. It’ll be nice to stretch our legs, maybe do some decorating- OH! Hey, aren’t you lonely?” Tailgate cut himself off.
Whirl, taken aback by such an abrupt observation, glanced around. Cyclonus, too, was blinking a bit incredulously at his conjunx. “E-Excuse me??” Whirl asked.
“NO- I mean- y’know- because you don’t have a suitemate-”
“OH! I mean- I wouldn’t put it that way, flying solo suits me just fine.” Whirl shrugged.
Tailgate cycled his optics.
“I’m fine with being on my own, Tailgate, I like having the space.” He said, turning his helm away to scan the crowd.
Out of the corner of his optic, Whirl could see Tailgate turning his gaze to Cyclonus, grabbing his hand. Cyclonus shook his head sagely. He could hear the near silent whirr of them conversing in their heads, trading thoughts so he wouldn’t eavesdrop.
Whirl turned his attention back to the speech.
“-Next on the docket, we turn to Ultra Magnus with some important morale building updates!” Rodimus announced, sweeping a servo out to the larger mech. Whirl sunk back against the wall. Primus, just when I start pretending to care again.
Polite applause filled the room as Magnus took his place at the front of the group. He cycled his vocalizer, lifting up a datapad and beginning to read. “Hello everyone. As you all are well aware, during the past deca-cycle we conducted a survey regarding your thoughts on the brief ‘adventuring hiatus’ as our co-captain has decided to call it.” He began, briefly glancing at Rodimus, who offered a prideful nod at his expert naming strategy. “The results have been published, and your resounding, collective answer was, unsurprisingly, a pervasive feeling of boredom.”
There was a rumble of agreement that rippled through the crowd.
Ultra Magnus nodded, not looking up from his datapad. “As a means of quelling discontentment, we have come to a decision. In the halls and communal spaces within the ship you will now find holoboards which are available for advertisement as part of our new…” He paused for effect. “Communal Bonding and Engagement Initiative.” He paused again, looking out over the confused crowd for an excited reaction. Rodimus threw his servos in the air, giving a big enthusiastic double thumbs up to gesture for more of a response. After a few kliks of murmuring, Rodimus stepped forwards.
“We’re now actively encouraging you to form clubs and/or recreational sports teams! With the new unused space from our uh… lessened crew, we encourage you to begin construction on whatever spaces you might need-” Rodimus explained over a growing, more enthusiastic din.
Whirl glanced around, noting the reaction. Bots glanced around at one another, growing smiles on their faceplates and loudening chatter filling the room as they traded excitement about the idea.
“WITH- Proper clearance and permits-!” Ultra Magnus thundered over the growing noise. Soon enough the room was filled with excitement and chatter.
Whirl rolled his optic. If this was their idea of fun he might just start making problems on purpose. He turned his gaze to the two bots beside him. He had no doubt that Tailgate would be pinging off the walls at this concept- and he was correct, what with the way he was vibrating violently and gripping Cyclonus’s hand so hard it might as well have crumpled like foil. What he wasn’t expecting was the quiet, approving nod that Cyclonus was giving the idea. He wasn’t even doing it for Tailgate’s benefit! Tailgate wasn’t even looking at him for approval!
Magnus had resumed chattering, something about proper procedure for requesting space, and holding a workshop on how to properly take down walls for renovation purposes and Whirl was already bored of it. He was… preoccupied. It was hard to focus on most things for Whirl. But somehow, there was something about Cyclonus and Tailgate’s stupid relationship that held his attention. Maybe it helped that he’d kind of encouraged the two of them together, maybe it was all the gazing at Cyclonus’s constant pining that got him invested. But it was something he couldn’t help but watch.
They were chatting with one another again, meaning Tailgate was babbling faster than Blurr and Cyclonus was gazing lovingly into his optics with an expression like normal energon, rather than the spoiled version he usually looked like.
Whirl vaguely heard the doors of the hall open, and Rodimus eke out another ‘Til all are one!’ over Ultra Magnus’s continued reading of the CBEI rulebook that he had no doubt Ultra Magnus had relished in writing. The room was already starting to empty. It felt like Whirl’s audials were a million miles away, the whole room a little muffled.
Finally, as the room was almost completely empty, Tailgate popped back up onto his pedes, still chatting with Cyclonus.
“-ly if we’re going to grab the rooms around us before someone else gets their servos on them.” Tailgate’s voice came back into focus as he helped Cyclonus up off the bench. Cyclonus chuckled, which might have just sounded like an apathetic grunt to anyone else.
“Aw, slag, everyone’s already got a head start!!” Tailgate wailed, grabbing his own helm with both servos as his optics flashed with despair. He began to jog out the door, rolling into his alt mode clumsily and speeding off down the hall, swerving between bot’s legs and around a corner.
Whirl laughed to himself as he watched Tailgate’s tiny frame disappear off into the ship. “He’s a bit of a servo-full, huh?” He quipped, turning to face Cyclonus.
Cyclonus nodded with a quiet hum. “You’d be too, in his place.” He said.
“What, like I’m not a servo-full now?” Whirl grinned- in his own way. “I could be a bigger pain in your plate than he ever could.” He prodded a claw into Cyclonus’s chest.
Cyclonus raised a brow ridge, folding his arms and cocking his head. “I don’t know, Whirl. You’ve mellowed out from my perspective.” He said in that infuriating tone, humor dry as a desert.
“Mellow? I’d better up my game then.” He sneered, leaning his optic right up to Cyclonus’s head to leer at him. As usual he gave little reaction, gazing off down the hallway Tailgate had escaped to.
“You spend too much time in your hab suite.” Cyclonus didn’t turn his optics to face him. “Even if you had upped your game I’d never have noticed.”
Whirl was quiet for a long moment, turning his helm back down the hall. “... I like the privacy, what can I say?”
“Tailgate was planning on asking you to join us in our ‘soon to be luxury habitation unit’.” Cyclonus stated bluntly. “He said you seemed lonely.”
Whirl’s optic twitched.
“And sad.”
Whirl’s optic narrowed, flicking down to glance at Cyclonus. He was glancing back at him.
“And it was making him feel lonely and sad-”
“I get the picture, Cyclonus.” Whirl snapped.
The two held each other’s sideways glance for another long beat.
“I don’t need Tailgate’s pity, I’m doing just fine. Cool as an ice crystal. Never been better.” Whirl added.
Cyclonus let out a quiet ex-vent, taking a step down the hall. “Think about it. The door’s open to you. You know it is.” He tossed one last look over his shoulder. “And I’m not only saying that on Tailgate’s behalf. I can feel it too.” He opened his intake to continue, but shut it, turning back down the hallway. “It doesn’t suit you.”
Whirl watched the ex-con walk away. That quiet feeling washed in again- Envy? Annoyance?... Longing?- dulling the constant whirr of the ship. Whirl looked down at his servos, clicking his claws together for a moment before glancing around the room.
Yep. Alone again.
He waited until Cyclonus was out of sight before beginning to walk through the ship back towards his hab suite. He noted the new holoboards, currently empty save for the advertisement for Ultra Magnus’s upcoming CBEI workshop. He figured they wouldn’t stay empty for long, there were far too many bots chomping at the bit in that room. They all loved that kind of community, leave it to a bunch of veterans to jump at the opportunity to get back on a team. Whirl liked it just fine on his side of the fence, thank you VERY much. Teams had a habit of… collapsing on him.
He tapped at the buttons of his hab suite, the door sliding open with a quiet whoosh. The lights flickered on over his usual mess. He swiped some junk off his slab and laid down.
After a while of relative stillness the lights flicked off, plunging him back into darkness. He tossed, shifting a bit in an attempt to get comfortable.
He waited.
And waited.
And waited.
It was always a struggle to recharge. His frame felt restless and wrong. He squished himself into a comfortable enough position and focused on trying to pass out. Counted backwards, counted forwards, replayed the most boring parts of Ultra Magnus’s speeches.
Finally, as he started to power down, he was snapped awake by a tiny bit of text appearing in his comms frequency channel.
A message from someone. Someone who’d signed their words, even knowing that the receiver would know whoever sent it.
TG: Don’t be a stranger! -Tailgate
… Maybe just visiting some time wouldn’t hurt.

Did you know the BBC wanted a young Doctor spin-off, but the Doctor Who production office shut it down, so all the ideas for it became the CBBC show Leonardo?
or,
You want a Deca spinoff? We’ve had one all along!!
It’s well-known that CBBC had planned a young Doctor spin-off before they commissioned The Sarah Jane Adventures. As RTD put it in The Inside Story (2006), “Children’s BBC approached us. They wanted to do a drama based around the idea of a young Doctor Who, but I said no to that. Somehow the idea of a fourteen-year-old Doctor, on Gallifrey inventing sonic screwdrivers, takes away from the mystery and intrigue of who he is and where he came from. So instead I suggested doing a series with Sarah Jane Smith, because she'd been so popular in School Reunion.”
But is it possible that CBBC didn’t throw out the idea, and “a fourteen-year-old Doctor on Gallifrey inventing sonic screwdrivers” became “a fourteen-year-old Leondardo da Vinci in 15th century Florence inventing new futuristic technologies”? Many thanks to my friend Poseidome for pointing me to this connection, which came from the same rumorhound who told me about the Dalek rights situation and abortive BritBox reshoot plans:
Leonardo is what the young Doctor spin off was going to be. “Fantastico!” as his catchphrase. The series would follow the Doctor, Master, Rani, and friends uncovering a conspiracy within the Academy and Time Lord society. The Doctor and the eventual renegades at the heart of it all. The Doctor’s ideas being stolen, his future has been foreseen, Time Lords trying to stop it, etc. All that kind of stuff. There’s even a Borusa stand-in played by Alistair McGowan!
(More under the cut…)
The cast I believe would have been the same, along with the budget, filming locations and costumes. Just adapted to be more sci-fi. CGI shots of Gallifrey, actual futuristic technology, classic monster cameos, that kind of thing.
Most if not all the ideas for the young Doctor series are in the Leonardo trailer still, as they kept 99% of the concept. The independent company tasked with adapting it had already done all the development before the idea got canned. Storylines, scripts, characters, costume ideas, locations, sets. If you watch the first series, the story arc and scripts should still be clear what they originally were, so it sort of still is, in a weird way, a bit of Doctor Who media.
I think it would have been really popular. I believe it would have broadcast in a gap year, or between split seasons. Similar to what they later did with Class, but instead of late teens, it was for the Sarah Jane Adventures demographic.
I’ve not seen the second series, but my understanding is its a lot more it’s own thing, as by then they’d had time to redevelop it outside of being a reworked young Doctor show. Hence why series 1 is the way it is, and series 2 tonally different.
I’ve done some digging to try to verify this rumour, including reaching out to one of the series 1 writers, but I haven’t found anything definitive yet. I rather doubt that development had gone as far as costumes, sets, etc., given how early in the process RTD seems to have shot it down, but it’s certainly true that the cast list matches perfectly. Plagiarising freely from the Leonardo Wiki:
Jonathan Bailey (Psi from “Time Heist”!) as Leonardo da Vinci, a young apprentice who loves painting, inventing, and creating new things. As the BBC Press Office put it, “He’s not just a genius; he’s an unstoppable, free-thinking creative force who’s always ten steps ahead of the rest.” Obviously the Doctor.
Flora Spencer-Longhurst as Tomaso/Lisa (of “Mona” fame), a girl who lives disguised as a male apprentice at Verrocchio’s workshop in Florence. According to the rumorhound, this would have been the Rani – although she also sounds a bit like Alanir …
Akemnji Ndifornyen as Niccolò Machiavelli or “Mac”, the number one man when it come to fraud or theft. He has a network of urchin spies and cut-purses throughout the city, and he likes money-making schemes and mingling with the rich and famous. Leo sometimes has to get him out of trouble. Obviously the Master.
Colin Ryan as Lorenzo de’ Medici, a wealthy boy largely bored of his life of luxury who enjoys sneaking away to join his friends. He is anxious to please his father, whom he greatly admires. The Monk, perhaps?
Alistair McGowan as Piero de’ Medici, an ambitious man and cousin to the Duke of Florence. He keeps a close eye on all happenings in Florence, and he heads a mysterious secret society. Borusa.
James Cunningham as Andrea del Verrocchio, Leo and Tom’s strict maestro. Leonardo is very loyal to him. The Doctor’s mentor Azmael, or an original character?
In light of this, I could totally believe that the blueprint of the young Doctor series was reused for Leonardo. If true, the transposition of the characters from Gallifrey to late 15th century Florence was frankly inspired. TIL Machiavelli and da Vinci were actually contemporaries!
(Incidentally, one of the script editors of Leonardo, Nina Métivier, also played a role in some of my favorite stories from the Chibnall era: she edited “The Woman Who Fell to Earth” and “It Takes You Away” in Doctor Who series 11, and of course she wrote “Nikola Tesla’s Night of Terror” in series 12.)
This wouldn’t be the first time that planned Doctor Who stories have been repurposed for other series: Wizards vs. Aliens (2012–2014) was made by the same creative team and played in the same timeslot as The Sarah Jane Adventures, and at least one episode was based on a SJA script that had gone unproduced after Elisabeth Sladen’s untimely death; some Dirk Gently and Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy stories had their roots in Douglas Adams’ rejected or unproduced Fourth Doctor pitches; and quite a few rejected Wilderness Era book and audio proposals eventually found homes outside Who, such as the Sixth Doctor pitch Smoking Mirror, which ultimately became into the Faction Paradox novel Against Nature.
But unlike those cases, where we know the character dynamics of the Doctor and their companion or Sarah Jane’s friends so we can spot their analogues in the new contexts, this young Doctor series is an attempt to do something new. Maybe we can spot the young Doctor and Master [edit: or can we?!], but we’ve never seen their friendship anything like this before – and as for the Monk being an impressionable kid trying to impress his father? It’s completely new.
We don’t have anything to compare Leonardo against: its existence is literally the only surviving hint of CBBC’s vision for the young Doctor and friends. And what a compelling hint it is!

This one is based off of yeti crabs - IONIS-DECA
Title - Luminescent crab Monster class - Carapaceon Known locales - Subterranean acidic reservoirs, though known to migrate to cold regions Element/Ailment - Thunder + Sleep Elemental weakness - Ice (3), Water (2), Thunder (1), Fire (1), Dragon (1) Ailment weakness - Sleep (2), Paralysis (2), Poison (2), Blast (1), Stun (1) Ionis-Deca is a carapaceon native to subterranean environments where acidic water reservoirs are common, though ecological circumstances occasionally see individuals travelling to cold regions. Ionis-Deca is easily identified by the golden-green lustre of its carapace and the myriad fleshy tendrils protruding from sections of its body. These act as conductors for electrical charges built inside the carapaceon and expelled primarily through its long antennae and fifth pair of limbs. Its third and four pair of limbs are stocky and grip rocky walls and ceilings, whilst the second pair are slender and used for handling. Herbivores who specialise in harvesting algae, flora and phytoplankton from acid pools by extending a long net-like proboscis, Ionis-Deca are usually seen clinging to walls above the reservoirs. This allows them to syphon their favoured food whilst having the opportunity to crawl up to the ceiling should danger present itself. Regarding humans, Ionis-Deca are not known to fear them, simply ignoring field researchers. While close contact isn't advised, the carapaceon is relatively easy for humans to approach. Using special flares mimics the electric signals Ionis-Deca uses to communicate, helping to keep the monster calm. Electricity is the principle defence of Ionis-Deca. Thunder sacs under its carapace transfer energy through the various tendrils on its body. Through its antennae and fifth limbs, it expels it in powerful bolts, or focuses the electricity in its chelae for area of effect strikes and increased physical effectiveness. Ionis-Deca is slow but defensively orientated, often manoeuvring itself with surprising speed to counter and block attacks. Interestingly, it can control the charge of its electrical attacks to such an extent that it disrupts nervous signals in its target, which causes an induced Sleep effect to occur. Known to gather in groups, Ionis-Deca are sociable with one another, communicating through electrical luminescent signals. While the smaller males never leave their home, the larger females will eventually feel an urge to migrate following the mating season. En-masse, the females venture out into the surface world, travelling to cold regions. There, the chilled seas provide a vast environment for the females to release their young, who spend their juvenile years feeding out at sea before eventually migrating back to the subterranean caverns as adults. These migrations are perilous; whether mothers or juveniles, not many survive the trip. Only by travelling in groups do their chances increase, and so the species is notably altruistic, coming to each other's aid against predators. Ionis-Deca is not a particularly powerful monster (Low Rank - 1, High/Master Rank - 1) but it serves as useful practice for those wishing to handle more defensively orientated monsters. Hunters should avoid using shock traps, as the carapaceon easily dispels the charge, and instead focus on disabling its limbs by targeting the joints. Ionis-Deca avoids the attention of most predators by sticking close to acidic pools, in which it can briefly submerge if need be. However, this leaves it vulnerable to its nemesis Caustasioth, who specialises in hunting carapaceons. Ionis-Deca's only hope is to distract the piscine wyvern with a series of quick shocks and then retreating up the walls out of Caustasioth's reach. Those who travel to cold regions have no such luxury of environmental advantage, and many fall prey to myriad predators, especially the arthropod-hunting Frezarion. - Thank you for reading and take care.

Why does no one ask, Master Who?: (#1 - Koschei)
Tumblr media
Why does no one ask, Master Who?: A Character Study Series
This was one subject I was excited to cover, especially after just recently getting into Russian folklore. And of course since this is technically the first master (as according to the fandom, EU content, and The Sound of Drums ), this had to be the one to cover first (especially because of the symbolism present here that I feel is so important to beginning our journey exploring who the Master is.)
Though the young first Master’s name is never revealed to us in the show, how did we get the name Koschei? Let me direct you to the way of the Extended Universe.
May I introduce you to a series of wonderful books?
Let’s start with the one that introduced the name Koschei for the Master:
Tumblr media
1. The Dark Path by David A. McIntee (published March 1997)
A wonderful novel that features one of the earliest encounters with the Master and the Doctor, greatly expanding on their personal histories on Gallifrey. This story in particular is iconic because it’s one of the many origin stories explaining how/why he became the Master. I honestly don’t wanna spoil it for those who have yet to read it, but I did leave a spoiler review on my main blog awhile back.
This book is important, however, because this is where the Koschei name began. As the book states, this is the name he was going by before he decided to take the title; The Master, by the end of the book.
Tumblr media
2. Divided Loyalties by Gary Russell (published October 1999)
2 years later, this book was released. It’s another fantastic novel which is iconic for showing the begins of the Deca and giving us a glimpse into the childhood’s of the Doctor, the Master, the Rani, and so on. I also don’t want to spoil this for those who havent read it. Honestly, it’s an experience, and I’ve posted about it a lot on my main.
However, it also features the Master using the name ‘Koschei’, but in the Academy! And when alluding to the characters fates at the end, it even mentions what happens in McIntee’s ‘The Dark Path’.
Bonus: It is also the book that gives us the Master’s house as being Oakdown, hence most of the fandom calling the young Master; Koschei Oakdown.
So, still....Why the name, Koschei?
What is the significance of it? Where did it even come from?
The answers lie in a character from Russian Folklore...
Tumblr media
Koschei the Deathless (aka the Immortal)
As the wiki describes: “He is an archetypal male antagonist in Russian folklore. The most common feature of tales involving Koschei is a spell which prevents him from being killed. He hides his soul inside nested objects to protect it. For example, the soul (or in the tales, it is usually called "death") may be hidden in a needle that is hidden inside an egg, the egg is in a duck, the duck is in a hare, the hare is in a chest, the chest is buried or chained up on a far island. Usually he takes the role of a malevolent rival father figure, who competes for (or entraps) a male hero's love interest.”
Sounds kind of familiar, right?
It’s very symbolic to who the Master becomes:
Someone always managing to cheat death, and never being really killed off.
Being the constant rival of the Doctor, sometimes abducting his companions.
In some tales, Koschei can cast a sleep spell, almost like how the Master hypnotizes others.
Not to mention, having a fascination with the Russian culture as shown especially in Dhawan’s era.

SO UHHH HEYYY GUYS GUESS WHAT I GOT
so yesterday my dad found some DVDs in a store, which just so happened to be one of the 2 existing(that i know of)DVDs with the galactik football serbian dub on it, and the other which was my sister's holy grail, naruto in serbian number 3. She's been looking for that thing forever. I dunno what kind of stroke of insane luck this was,but it happened.
I never expected to run into galactik football merch in the wild, i expected to have to order it from another country! Unfortunately, this one's cover is badly damaged because of all the selling stickers that have been on and off of it, but at least the DVD looks good!
This dvd contains the first 4 episodes. I believe this is the only official serbian dub DVD that features exclusively the GF series. There's another one that we already own that only had the first episode of GF along with some other series (it was a series of DVDs that featured 1 Episode from multiple different cartoons dubbed into Serbian). The tv channel that aired GF and basically all other cartoons stopped airing GF a while back and then died in 2019 (RIP UltraTV) so we were basically stuck with that 1 episode until some good soul uploaded the entire dub to YouTube and we rewatched it. My sister is actually so sick of that first episode that she refuses to watch it anymore 💀

This is the inside. Multiple things are misspelled....seriously guys, you had the title RIGHT THERE and yet you still misspelled it as "Gallactik Football". Also, the wambas had their names misspelled as well,i think. I believe it's supposed to say "vambasi" instead of "vambi" but whatever, I'm no grammar expert. The Snow Kids are also named differently in this text than in the dub: here it says "snežna deca" while in the series it's"snežni klinci"...while deca and klinci mean basically the same thing, it would be like the difference between saying"Snow Children" and "Snow Kids" lol. It's just meant to be "kids", saying "children" sounds weird because it's too formal and standard. Kids/klinci just sounds more slang-like and casual and it's meant to be that way.
I thought about translating the text but it's just a general summary of what the series is about. Feel free to ask if you're interested in me translating tho.
I still have Galactik Football merch i want to buy and i still can't order it because of my parents ARARARARARR but I'll get it eventually!!! I hope

Tell us about your current project(s)  – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?
jkdhkjhsdklfjas my current project is an academy era doctor who fic where the doctor and the rest of the deca play eighth man bound! progress was rly good for a bit but i'm starting to stall out because i don't really know how to start or finish it. i'm considering combining it with another ficlet i wrote and making a sort of series of vignettes about what the deca get up to in the middle of the night!
what i love most about it is playing with the characters like my little barbie dolls and exercising my tyrannical will over doctor who canon <3
10. answered on the last one!
20. Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble to people about (symbolism you’ve included, character or relationship development that you love, hidden references, callbacks or clues for future scenes?)
there's this quote in Cat's Cradle: Time's Crucible by Marc Platt that i'm very enchanted by:
The Ancient Gallifreyans had excelled in entrelacement. Motives interwoven under and above, back and forth, until the start of the design was lost. Patterns and threads, ornate stone ridges on the great Houses, intricate lines of coloured plants and soil in the knot gardens, polyphonic voices in the thought pool, repeated steps in the lordly dances. A net in which they were all entangled. The strings stretched across all Time like a web.
i'm in love with the idea of the web of time, the "anchoring of the thread", looms, and any other concept in the dw universe that equates time or time lords with string, thread, weaving, etc. i could go on for hours, but basically i think it's beautiful and interesting symbolism, and i like how the analogy stretches between the physical (e.g. loomed bodies) and less physical (time, history, etc.). i especially like it as a gallifreyan cultural motif!
anyway. there's a scene in this fic ^ where the deca make telepathic contact, and i describe it in terms of weaving and entrelacement as marc platt put it. as a nod to this motif! ^_^
thank u for the ask!!! <3

Heyyyy- went through and fixed a couple Deca member's galleries and character templates, plus uploading a few more pieces of art from the wonderful people who have allowed their work to be uploaded to the wiki (:
I thought it would be a good idea if I list the tasks that I want to get to next on the wiki:
Still got a lot of art to upload- the reason it's taking a while is because writing the alt IDs is quite tiring, so I can only do a couple of them at a time, but I promise I will get through all of them! Plus upload a few from the show that will be needed for the Doctor Who character pages on the Deca members
I'd like to figure out the best way to show that certain images are linked- maybe using prevnext? Because sometimes I have broken up a piece of art with multiple figures into each separate figure, because one of those characters had no solo art and needed something, but I think it would be good to show that they're all one piece of art.
Obviously if The Big Poll on Coverage concludes options 1 or 2 should be done, it'll be a lot more work, so priorities may change
I have been messing around with infoboxes- we'll see. If i can figure it out, it may be worth creating a couple template infoboxes, but also with the way we're doing everything right now I don't really see the need. If people are finding the layout of a specific type of page busy or confusing, maybe pop a note on one of those page's discussion pages?
Got a lot of category work to do. Luckily I can mass-add pages to categories, so I just need to sit down and do it, but there's also the issue of having overarching categories that other things are sub-categories of. Shouldn't be too hard, just something I have to sit down and figure out, you know?
If 1/2 is voted in, I will give each wiki artist their own page, rather than just a category. Didn't do that originally because I was a bit shaky on what pages should and shouldn't be mainspace, but I think if 1/2 is voted in they definitely should be, and would be under the 'fandom' section. Doesn't mean if 1/2 isn't voted in this won't be done, just that I'll probably put up a separate poll to see if people think it should work like that. If the artists come forward and say they would prefer that, that should override the poll though, because it's about them.
In terms of content, I've been working my way through insignificant memories, and then I'll go through decaeological findings- I'm going slow as I'm doing the plot summaries at the same time. Once all that's done, obviously the main series should be the main priority- I'll at the very least create stubs for the non-revised pages. I would've made Only Dead Fish when it came out, but honestly I didn't think I'd enjoy it if I had to type out a plot summary while reading for the first time. We've also got a lot of other major characters who need pages- Borusa, Ensilden (btw I think we should have a conversation about what name to use lol), Ummins... And, something I really think I need to make is the page on Doctor Who. Kinda embarassing that it doesn't exist, actually- it has 40 links to it!
But, I have exams next month, so though I'll be able to do some of the more low effort/quick ones of these, the bulk of this will be after May.

I've been currently hyperfixating on Academy Era Doctor Who and thought hey you know what's coming up? SATs and Finals! You know what you can't have to read fanfics after those? Your phone! You know what else you've been hyperfixating on? Bookbinding!
So I present to you in it's dubious quality (in terms of binding): a bound version of The Deca (Series 1) by @sugarskies !

Pluralistic: Portraits of Queen West (13 Sept 2023) Today's links Portraits of Queen West: Kevin Steele's "sequential art" book of the glory days of Queen Street West. Hey look at this: Delights to delectate. This day in history: 2008, 2013, 2018, 2022 Colophon: Recent publications, upcoming/recent appearances, current writing projects, current reading Portraits of Queen West (permalink) Portraits of Queen West is Kevin Steele's extraordinary photo-book, a work of "sequential art" featuring time- and space-series of a single – rather glorious – stretch of Toronto's Queen Street West: https://crowdfundr.com/queenwest Steele himself is as extraordinary as his book. I first ran into him through Mackerel Multimedia, the pioneering Canadian multimedia shop that he co-founded in the early 1990s – one of those art-school kids who discovered the Mac, fell in love with the radical possibilities of digital art, and changed the world: https://craphound.com/nonfic/mackerel.html Steele's pioneering work – in Hypercard, then CDROMs, then Flash – helped define the look-and-feel of the old, good internet; an urbanist feel that owed a debt to Toronto's most beloved adopted urbanist, Jane Jacobs. Steele and Mackerel made things that were beautiful and human-centered, human-scaled and human-adaptable. Not for nothing, Hypercard presaged the web's critical "view source" affordance, which allowed people to copy, modify, customize and improve on the things that they found delightful or useful; this affordance was later adapted by other human-centered projects like Scratch, and is a powerful tonic against enshittification. Mackerel didn't survive the first great multimedia mass-extinction, but it launched the careers of a whole generation of talented web-writers and builders, and not just its former employees, but also the millions who were touched by its work. I haven't seen Steele in person in decades, but I follow his work – not as a multimedia artist, but as an urban photographer. Kevin and I follow each other on Flickr – the once great and great again photo-sharing site that survived decades of abuse from Yahoo and Verizon before being taken indie and rescued by the Smugmug folks. Back in November 2010, Kevin started posting photos of individual storefronts on Queen Street West to Flickr. They were painstakingly labeled and dated, and they multiplied. By the end of the year, there were a couple dozen of them: https://www.flickr.com/search/?sort=date-posted-desc&safe_search=1&tags=queenstreetwest&user_id=92518741%40N00&view_all=1&min_upload_date=1073368800&max_upload_date=1294552799 A year later, there were hundreds: https://www.flickr.com/search/?sort=date-posted-desc&safe_search=1&tags=queenstreetwest&user_id=92518741%40N00&view_all=1&min_upload_date=1073368800&max_upload_date=1326088799 Today, there are over 1,200 of these: https://www.flickr.com/search/?sort=date-taken-desc&safe_search=1&tags=queenstreetwest&user_id=92518741%40N00&view_all=1 Now, I know Queen Street West very well. It was once one of Toronto's most bohemian neighborhoods, where my paternal grandfather's fellow refugee Benny Yacht has his schmata shop and where my maternal grandfather took my mother and her siblings to trade in their comics for credit at cramped, crammed used bookstores. I discovered Queen West as a pre-teen, thanks to Bakka Books – now Bakka Phoenix – the oldest science fiction bookstore in the world. I haunted Bakka, and, on the way, found myself drawn into the other stores around it: https://www.flickr.com/photos/doctorow/48476314831/in/photolist-2gRFMvz-2oJJDCY There was Silver Snail, a massive comics shop, but a bounty of used bookstores, vintage clothing stores, thrift shops, the indescribably great electronics store Active Surplus and, later, nightclubs like the Rivoli, the Diamond, the Bovine Sex Club and the Zoo Bar. For a critical decade of my life and more, the stretch of Queen Street that Steele obsessively documented in his Flickr feed had been the center of my life. I watched it thrive and grow – and then collapse into a kind of self-parody, as the original landlords (like Bakka's landlord) died, and their failsons and faildaughters kicked out longstanding tenants and replaced them with multinational "brands" that turned Queen West into a less-convenient, open-air version of the sterile Eaton Centre mall. Steele, it turns out, was having similar feelings of dismay as the organic, grown, chaotic delight became groomed, sterile and homogenized. After a 2008 fire wiped out an entire block of Queen West – including Duke's Cycle, a city institution that eventually shuttered after more than a century of service – Steele began his documentation project. Steele had started documenting the street in 2001, but that fire turned a hobby into a project. Over and over again, Steele returned to the street, meticulously photographing the same storefronts, capturing a time-series that eventually spanned 16 years, from 2001-2017. Steele gradually stitched these photos together into panoramic collages, reproducing whole blocks: https://www.flickr.com/search/?sort=date-taken-desc&safe_search=1&tags=linearpanorama&user_id=92518741%40N00&view_all=1 It is these "linear panoramas" that form the backbone of Portraits of Queen West. The book runs 162 pages, and it meant to be read forwards and backwards – start from the front cover and turn the pages to see the north side of the street, along with insets showing details (like the storied Graffiti Alley), and then flip the book over and start again, seeing the south side. For more than a decade, I've thrilled to my unexpected trips through Steele's time-machine, as he posted his space-and-time-series images of a vanished urbanism, an old, good city that paralleled the old, good web. I got a peek at a PDF of the new book that collects these extraordinary image and immediately pre-ordered a copy. Steele and his publisher Black Eye Books are crowdfunding presales of the book on Crowdfundr; the hardcover is CAD40 with shipping (there's also a deluxe edition at CAD55, which comes with a signed bookplate and six postcards): https://crowdfundr.com/queenwest After a string of ghastly mayors – each finding new depths of depravity, selfishness and mismanagement to plumb – Toronto just elected its first progressive mayor in a generation, the wonderful Olivia Chow, for whom I used to ring doorbells support of her city council campaigns: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/jun/27/olivia-chow-wins-election-as-torontos-first-chinese-canadian-mayor Anything that can't go on forever eventually stops. The enshittification of the old, good web continues apace, but there has never been more energy to build a new, good internet – and banish the enshitternet of Big Tech to the scrapheap of history. In the same way, Toronto's much eroded urbanism, pluralism and liveability are both at their lowest ebb in my lifetime – and also at their most hopeful moment of the century. In 1998, the dead-eyed Romneyoid Premier of Ontario Mike Harris "amalgamated" Toronto with its suburbs, putting it at the mercy of car-addled out-of-towners in an act of gerrymandering that all-but-guaranteed that city residents' political choices would be swamped by suburbanites who could be convinced to vote for laughable Tory bumblefucks like Rob Ford. Overcoming the gerrymander required a massive turnout – not merely a supermajority, but an ultramajority of politically motivated, organized, committed, pissed off Torontonians; Chow's election is a minor miracle that part of the wave of other historic reversals, like the DoJ awakening from its coma to drag Google into court on antitrust charges. We are a long way away from making a new, good internet that's a worthy successor to the old, good internet, and at least as far from a new, good Toronto that the people of the old, good Toronto would have built but for Tory wreckers and the Christmas-voting turkeys who elevated them to office. But both are possible – and both demand that we fight for them. Steele's beautiful photodocumentary of one slice of that old, good city doesn't just memorialize the world we lost – it is inspiration for a world that is ours to win.

Blades & Guns
by PC_Clicker
Long ago, two races ruled over two planets: Altea and Galra.
One day, two meteorites fell from the skies of the two planets.
They put on experiments on the meteorites, and thus, Voltron was created.
As deca-phoebs passed by, the two kings are starting to lose their sanity.
Then suddenly, a war broke out between the two races.
After a long battle, the kings decided to make a deal to reunite the alliance once more.
They plan to hand each other their children in marriage.
However, a princess had gone missing and Voltron has vanished from existence.
By the end, the two races abandoned their homeworlds to create new colonies.
Many deca-phoebs later...
