I remember this poem being used in a couple artworks and gifs in some other fandoms a year ago. I've actually wanted to make this gifset for a while, but I genuinely didn't think they had enough screentime to make it properly. I considered making this about all the mentors towards Felix, but honestly, I think simplicity is best since finding suitable footage of other mentors would probably make this more challenging.

Apologies for the bad contrast with the type and it's background at times. As a member of the bad eyes club, I tried my best, but Felix's corpse was fighting me.

If I had a nickel for every for every time I saw a movie with a rose-obsessed villain character who holds a position of political power in a fictional universe in which said character has beef with a teenaged girl with a sister who literally just wants to go home and believes all is utter madness while also being perceived as a threat to the character's reign, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

Nightwing #100 was fun and a good celebration of Nightwing's history and progress. The Titans set up was really cool to see and I hope DC follows through with putting the Titans into the spotlight.

BUT

It can't be in the Nightwing series. I can't think of anything more damaging to The Titans as a team and to Nightwing himself than to have the entirety of the Titans crammed into a solo series.

This is why we have team series and solo series. People don't read Titan series for stories 98% focused on Grayson with every other Titans character relegated to a cameo support role. People don't read Nightwing for stories revolving around his Titans' leadership duties.

The best part about the Titans is that it's a diverse group of personalities and skillsets. Every character gets a chance to shine, every character has a distinct personality and goals. They aren't Dick Grayson's backup dancers or personal cheerleading squad. And Dick's book should be where he gets to just be himself doing stealth missions and clandestinely fighting assassins, without trying to be the perfect leader that's always got a plan.

I liked Nightwing #100 and I've liked the other times Titans characters have crossed over into the series. But this can't just be it. They have to have a Titans series. They have to.

#dicks stories are supposed to be more down to earth. his appeal is that he is the underdog without powers using skill and his smarts #im not going to lie. having an elit team of supersoldiers at his beck and call kinda ruins that aspect #dick being the leader is great and all but it isn't why people read Nightwing #in the Titans dick is the smart leader with a plan. they all have skillsets and that is his. its not all he is but in a team setting #thats what he has to do. they all play roles to function well as a team #i mean Wally (who is one of the only other ones with a solo series) mainly plays support on the Titans #transportation. scouting. evacuation. crowd control. damage control. ect #hes typically got a separate task while everyone else is taking down the big bad. and thats not because he wants to #or because thats all he does. he plays support because thats his job in a team setting.#his solo series is where he can actually fuck stuff up #so yeah the titans need a solo book. for everyone's sake. i mean Wally is fine cause hes got his own series #but think of Donna. won't anyone think of Donna #dc #dc comics #teen titans #titans

hey so do you think wtv keiko had to deal with growing up with yusuke could be considered a type of parentification

#god chapters where barely anything happens except a character's realization about things can be hard ...#im writing another keiko pov chapter and it's hard because well!!#keiko was never really a main focus in the series and as time goes on she gets even less of a focus so i have to fill in these spots #in her personality and views that aren't really explored. im taking a lot of liberties lets say #and idek if it's gonna read as in character cos of that #anyway im tryna say that like. pre series keiko was basically this presence in yusuke's life and he saw her as a pain but he cared #she was there to scold him and cajole him into going to his classes and she was his only friend #now we know atsuko was negligent and idk how involved the yukimuras were in his life but i feel like keiko #whether directly or indirectly was given this duty like you have to keep him outta trouble #you're smart you're mature he needs someone like you. this responsibility just kind of put on her before she can understand the weight of i #and she can't really comprehend that weight until it's abruptly taken from her. yusuke dies and there's no one to shepherd #i feel like keiko should get to be mad about this. this realization of the nature of their dynamic. keiko planning things around yusuke #who's never done that in his life. not because he's purposely being thoughtless but bc he was never the one to have to plan #to think about what their future looks like. he just kinda drifted along and keiko tried to do damage control. it wasn't fair #yusuke is keeping secrets from her she is scared of high school and that he'll die again without her knowing why and it's unfair #so she should get to be mad also because girls getting to be mad is one of my favorite things 👍🏼#the realization that yusuke won't be lost without her so she shouldn't hinge her life on the expectation that he will be #she worries about yusuke a lot i think. especially after he comes back from the dead. and i think kuwa's presence would help ease that #dread in her heart. it doesn't have to be just me. there's someone who can be there with him always and it doesn't have to be me #the guilty relief of not having to be the sacrifice. but kuwa doesn't mind so maybe it's okay this way #idk just rambles about my fic while i puzzle out how to word it #character analysis #yukimura keiko #yu yu hakusho

I want to write a Vanyel/Stefen modern-with-magic AU soooo bad but I don’t know Valdemar lore like at all. There are six books standing between me and feeling comfortable enough in the lore to imagine what Valdemar might look like with the internet and planes

#anyway I have unhinged ideas about what modern Valdemar #like. I’m imagining Valdemar as a prosperous #happy country with a high level of social development and technology #public transit everywhere. universal basic income/free high quality healthcare/etc #like. not utopian. not by a long shot.#but overall doing well (at least in comparison to some of the other countries on Velgarth)#HOWEVER they are having this really divisive cultural moment about Heralds and the King #bc they’re basically appointed by a completely unaccountable higher power? and they have so much direct influence and control over #the life of an average person??? why should that be allowed?#so there’s a movement for direct democracy which is very successful at a local level #and is slowly making its way into higher levels of the government #and there’s suddenly intense scrutiny on the heralds. so when Vanyel gets caught up in a series of scandals it does a LOT of damage to #the institution of the heralds. but Vanyel is very very important to the security of the world #bc he successfully prevented the detonation of a nuclear weapon a few years earlier so he’s sort of the only thing standing between #the world and nuclear war #anyway I think that setting is way too dramatic for a weird gay fanfiction. so I’m workshopping it #vanyel ashkevron #last herald mage #gay herald in a squirrel suit

not rlly a fan of people trying to blame the whole finale on ccdream or theorize that tommy didn’t actually write it. ik it feels good to find a reason but it’s a bit johnlockian conspiracy minded. tubbo said tommy worked on this himself and tommy has never been one to sacrifice content he cares abt bc of pressure, esp not something this important to him. even if dream did write it all himself tommy would never go through with an ending for ctommy that he didn’t like.

#if anything my best guess is the lack of scheduling and organization led to them shoving all four streams in one weekend which is why the #ending was fumbled. and that’s a deeply rooted issue only partly exacerbated by drm using lore as damage control. i know it would be #wonderful to have one person to blame but that’s rarely the case in situations like this #vees train of thought #discourse #series finale

Damage Control should definitely have won

I still cannot understand why they decided to let Damage Control lose. I mean, this was their first ppv match together after Kairi and Asuka decided to join, so the only rightful thing to do was to show us how strong and unstoppable they became, at the point of managing to defeat colossus like Bianca, Charlotte and Becky. What was the point of making the face team win? I mean, they are not even a real stable, Bianca put them together only to face Damage Control at War Games, so how could this help any of Bianca's team members, considering that - almost - all of them already have a high status? Instead, Damage Control still keep losing important matches as a stable, and I cannot understand why. Why Roman Reigns and the Bloodline can win every single match but Damage Control cannot? Yeah sure, Damage Control have a world champion among them but that's not enough if they keep losing every single match as a team. I hope they decided to make Damage Control lose only because of Bayley's imminent split, because otherwise the only explanation for this is just horrible booking.
