He fired the idiots who did stupid stuff #and they're working on doing things for the admins + Egg admins #which once again: was confirmed by the CCs #idk man I just see the whole thing and I'm like ''???'' about it #I think it's just a matter of misinformation + strong emotions + language barriers #plus a side of what I said earlier- ''you made a mistake once which means I get to be an ass to you even if you're trying to fix things''#and in this specific situation that just seems so stupid #advocating for workers rights while getting mad about the owner of the project working on workers rights.#idk man it's mostly Twitter people being stupid but I genuinely almost want to sit down with folks and talk things out #which I will not do because I value my sanity. but I do think a lot of things can be solved with communication #I; however; simply do not have the energy for that #anyhoo that's my two cents and will probably be the last I say on this matter #goodnight y'all I'm EXHAUSTED #For the record even though Q didn't know about what was going on it does suck that it happened #but we can't change the past #not every mistake is fixable or forgivable but this one can be. in my eyes anyways #We'll see how things resolve in the end but it's going in the right direction and that's enough for me to be content for now

How is amnesia lazy? I think it's interesting and fun to explore :(

Boy you're in for a ramble.

It's mostly because of the way it's used as an escape button when an issue doesn't have resolution. We saw it in the DSMP because, c'mon, we knew Dream wasn't going to die and neither was Tommy + they needed some sort of redemption arc for Dream so he can take part in season 2 of his own SMP, the thing is that felt pretty damn useless? Because that's no actual redemption, Dream never felt bad for torturing and killing Tommy, they just forgot and because they forgot it didn't happen ^^

And they're not the only ones that have pulled the amnesia plot for a dire situation like that. We know some characters can't die because Karmaland isn't over and if they eventually make Karmaland 6 and they want it to be a direct continuation to Karmaland 5 if someone dies it could be... Complicated... Right?

Except it's not! We had other ways for dealing with those issues. Want an example? REVIVAL, MAN!!!! Alexby did die once and came back to tell the tale. They could've given the war a violent resolution and have their characters revived later like Alexby did. Maybe even have the survivor party feel bad for what happened because it didn't have to end like this? Maybe, who knows.

But let's say that's off the table for x or y reason... At beginning of Karmaland there were many theories about the heroes coming from different universes, not from the same Karmaland, what does that mean? It means that they can kinda pull a GTA Roleplay move, aka killing a character and bringing in another one to replace them, example? Auron roleplayed Gustabo in GTA Roleplay, but he killed him in the beginning of London Eye Roleplay, and he continued roleplaying with Toni Gambino. An option there could've been having either Quackity or Luzu killed and replaced by another Quackity or Luzu from another universe, and considering the multiverse is canon in Karmaland it would've opened the doors for something pretty cool to explore.

Another way, and this one is pretty simple... Is to just stop the war. How so? Well we saw that Sapo Peta could make it so Quackity and Luzu couldn't harm each other, remember that Luzu tried to shoot Quackity and nothing happened? Well there you have it.

And yet another way was to leave the end of the war for Karmaland's finale so that they could really have one killed without affecting the season.

Now with all of this I don't want to say how ccs should do their stories, I just want to point out that there were many ways to work with what they had going.

Amnesia isn't necessary a bad plot, if it's worked with it can give us a lot of content, take for example Lolito! He pulled the amnesia card in Karmaland 4 and did pretty well, people were trying to take advantage of him, there was some comedic relief AND HE EVENTUALLY REMEMBERED! He worked with that one and it was good.

To finish this I just want to say that although I hate amnesia plots when they're used as an escape button, it's not necessarily bad, lots of people enjoy it and that's okay, but being overexposed to that sort of plots just turns you into some kind of Grinch for them and that's what I am right now, I've had to deal with at least 5 amnesia plots in this same year and it's getting awfully exhaustive.

Hello! I've been inactive due to the current events in the mcyt community, but I've been keeping up with the qsmp admin situation and I thought I'd share some opinions because the amount of doomposting I've seen the last few weeks has been more than I've seen in any fandom in a while and I feel like it's reached the point where people really need to chill the fuck out because they're not thinking straight and actively not helping. Everything I'm gonna say is based on stuff I've seen on both tumblr and twitter.

they should not promote/release merch! : one of the things that baffles me the most tbh; how do you expect any employee to be payed then? Merch is so far the only big source of income for the server besides q's own cc salary or whatever income they get through the official qsmp channel on twitch and youtube (which I don't think is a lot). "I get that they said they have no funds, but still it doesn't feel right"... sorry but at this point I don't know what to tell you, do you expect them to pull money out of their asses? You can't demand that they stop making merch and then complain that they can't afford the twitter admins at the same time. If you don't feel comfortable buying anything from them it's fine obviously, but if your reason for it is that you're helping the admins then I have bad news for you. I have seen people propose that quackity sets up a patreon, and while I think it would be a good idea, I understand why he's not doing it, since with the merch he can at least give something back to the people that choose to support his project instead of people just giving him money for free, especially with what's happening now. Also with how much hate he's been receiving simply for the merch I can't imagine that a patreon would be recieved well.

we don't know if the money is going to the admins/ they should not use pomme's likeness! : the money is definitely going to go to the employees and admins because otherwise the server would not last. And as much as I understand people feeling protective over pomme's admin, quackity studios is very much allowed to sell merch of the character because it is not the likeness of the admin, it's a minecraft model made by the people that work there. Would you have rathered they skip her character entirely? Do you really think that would have been okay?. Also correct me if I'm wrong, but I've seen posts and tweets saying that pomme's admin has been confirmed to come back with the other eggs whenever it happens by pierre, who talked with her admin.

the admins of the update accounts got fired, it means they want to fire everyone, they aren't making things better! : it sucks that the updates accounts had to end and I feel bad for every twitter admin that clearly cared a lot about the project, but unfortunately it had to happen if there simply isn't enough money to pay them adequately like they deserved and ultimately the update accounts were not essential to keep the project going, so it makes sense that they were let go unfortunately. This is not gonna be the case for the egg admins because if they got fired (which they didn't), the server would basically end. Just because a cc does not know when they will be back does not mean it's not gonna happen. Just because tubbo randomly said that he's not sure if they will be back does not mean they were fired; tubbo is normally not a reliable source of information, even less so when he's been live nonstop for the past 20 days, which is prior to everything happening. If you genuinely didn't expect a reduction in non essential staff considering everything, then you have unreasonable expectations on how this stuff goes. As I write this, I'm seeing people saying that "they would understand this decision if q had set up a patreon to pay the admins", and once again I don't understand how people don't realize why quackity might not be keen on the idea of having his fans pay his own employees for his own project instead of, you know, doing it himself; and, again, do not fool yourself into thinking it would be recieved well. That being said, it's fair to criticize how everything was communicated to the admins, but I'll get to this in more detail later.

quackity should not have uninstalled social media, he's trying to avoid everything! : he's not avoiding anything, he's been off social media for a while now, which is why it took him that long to remove wilbur from the server. He has every right to not want to look at social media, as his focus should be on restructuring his server instead of doomscrolling on twitter because people think he needs to see how much people dislike him. The only people that he should talk to are those that have important information to tell him, like josè with the document. He explicitly said on stream where to contact him if you have helpful information and I'm sure that despite multiple well liked posts saying not to spam his email, people are definitely doing it anyway, which is probably gonna slow the whole thing down even more. I hope josè's document is able to be seen with pierre's help as well.

quackity studios is not communicating with their employees and leaving them in the dark and that's not okay : I agree with this. i think a huge chunk of doomposting lately has been due the lack of communication not with the audience, but with the admins, and they deserve to know what is happening behind the scenes more then us since this is about their current or future job.... that being said, I do kind of understand why they're being so secretive and shutting everyone out, and that's due to all the "leaks" that have been spread online. I understand the anger but I really wish some people would realize that discussing leaked bts lore stuff in ccs discord servers does not help the situation at all and instead makes it seem like they're only doing this to rile up the fandom against quackity studios by using the lore of people's fav characters.

At the end of the day, I think people just aren't used to dealing with a situation that does not have a clear cut solution and someone to clearly hate, so the result is this doomposting and the over aggressiveness toward anything related to the project. Personally, I haven't witnessed anything that made me lose faith in the qsmp like some people have been saying, as every change that we've seen so far coincides with what quackity said on stream a while ago. I only wish things were communicated properly to the admins clearly, as they're the ones most affected, so I hope that's resolved soon. Ultimately quackity is singlehandedly restructuring the server from basically zero, has had to fire people that were misusing money and power and, depending on what josè's document said, is probably gonna have to fire some more. This is not an easy process, nor a quick one, you're not gonna hear about sunshine and rainbows for a while and doomposting about everything you hear because you expected quick change is useless. Think before you speak, have a clear head and most importantly have empathy.

Man everything with Dream coming out recently really has confirmed for me how much of DTeam is based around manipulating and downplaying any experience they cannot control. It's so very painfully obvious in the messages released by Dream between him and Sophie that the conversation was never about him and his friend being misogynistic, it's getting twisted into "Why do you hate me, specifically?" instead of any sort of reflection or self criticism to actually grow from the past behaviors.

Moreover it's also just covering for George's attempted assault. Make people get distracted from the assault by whining louder about other CC criticizing him. That way the focus gets shifted. I honestly cannot tell if that's intentional or if he's so unable to self reflect that he does this by habit, but it has the same exact effect anyway.

There is a lot of damning evidence of Dream's manipulation tactics coming out recently, between Punz's (now deleted) posts criticizing Dream's use of "let's talk privately," and now the Sophie messages, it's becoming clearer that that is a manipulation tactic so that he can control the narrative around him. Even the long messages directed at Quackity over ghosting him are pointing more toward him thinking he can bully and blackmail people into keeping in contact and keeping quiet. I do not doubt that there is more behind the scenes of people who are unable to sever ties because of this. Remember he does own a merch company. With other CC under it. I'd be real concerned about my income if a guy was threatening this kind of stuff all the time was the one in charge of it.

Doing a Summary of the French ccs' Lore (because we are forgotten)

(this last part is a joke don't take it too seriously)

Making a post with the lore we know about every French ccs for those who don't follow them religiously : (I might forget some things because I'm not an encyclopedia)

BAGHERA JONES :

Has said in the past she does see herself (her character) as human, like in the "Regret" animation but has also talked about "dying her feathers" instead of hair, and discussed with mike about not really having hair. Her species/lineage/anything you want to call it doesn't seem to be something set in stone.

When asked from where she comes from she answers Switzerland. It seems to have been accepted by Cucurucho. (also knows about The Shit Tower from the Team du Lundi server, though that might not be really lore accurate)

Doesn't seem to be interested in leaving the island itself, but is REALLY interested in freeing herself and the others from the Federation.

Considers BBH and Forever as her family alongside the rest of the french. Both Pomme and Dapper are her adopted kids.

Has both an underground Base and a Castle far north.

Dropped out of the election on her own accord, jumping from the top of her castle's highest tower.

(note : Please admins, cook something for her... She needs it... She tried for days to solve the book thingy, and Cellbit ended up having the last clues and doing it himself... Please I beg you...)

ETOILES :

Is a masked anthorpomorphic cucumber. No ambiguity about that.

When asked where he comes from, it alternates between France, and Far Away (if I remember well) (Was also part of the Team du Lundi server, but nothing confirms it is part of his canon lore).

What does seem to be conserved is his familiarity with all the french ccs : His close joke-flirting relationship with Antoine, his friendly banters with Baghera, his kind of disciple in redstone and create relationship with Aypierre, and his friendship with Kamet0.

Actually enjoying his time on the Island because of the challenges it offers him. Particularly enjoys showing the Federation and The Codes how they can do nothing against him. Considers himself a simple Warrior.

Has a cave a la BatCave but spends most of his time exploring and far away from it.

His favorite thing is bringing loot and stuff to the other residents.

Is freindly with everyone, and enjoys every egg, with particular admiration to Dapper.

AYPIERRE :

A simple human (note : a headcanon I like and that his community has kinda adopted is imagining him with Doc Ock style mechanical arms)

Comes from a random place in France he wrote kind of has a joke to Cucurucho. As for a potential server he could come from the guy is one of the oldest mc cc on the INTERNET. I could not tell you.

We don't really know his feelings on the island, but is portrayed as an opportunist and enjoyer of contracts. Absolutely willing to have deals with the Federation, though also interested in helping the others leave the island.

"n° 1 Gegg fan". Built a Gegg generator and is behind the Geggpocalypse of the election dinner.

Has a fun uncle/nephew relationship with Richarlyson, he revealed the Geggpocalypse to him before anyone else, and is building a winery to run with him.

Has a small house with multiple elevators and teleport pads leading to his huge Factory complex he will open to the public soon.

"I'm secretly building a machine.." before being cut off by Slime saying "WTF MAN THIS IS CRAZY".

(note : We don't know what that last part is about though most likely linked to the lore he's been brewing with the admins that is coming early August)

ANTOINE DANIEL :

We have no idea what he is, though might appears "human". "We all have multiple faces, Im just the only one showing them all". *about the face that was on his inside layer on his old skin* "I'd rather not talk about that, it's private."

Comes from France, though his reference to the Shit Tower into the new Shit Palace might mean he comes from the Team du Lundi server.

We don't know his feelings on the island, though distrustful of the Federation.

Lives in his Shit Palace that is currently unfinished, with the Moon and it's ring above. Has a secret room under called "La Fin du Monde (the end of the world)" with (old and not updated) thoughts about the residents of the island.

Is easily distrustful though trusts the french the most, and confides most of his secrets in Pomme.

Has a weird admiration/obession with Cucurucho.

(note : Come back antoine, I miss the kids...)

KAMET0 :

Etoiles did say he might come back at some point to do a cameo, tough not regularly.

Okay, I'm obsessed with the lore.... So here's some of me theories/stuff I've noticed. It's gonna be rambling in it's worst, cuz I'm way too excited.

Firstly, let's welcome Madagio! I don't know what's up with him, but here's some info we know:

- he's from some island who is connected to Quesadilla through some system.

- he can travel through servers.

- cats are his eyes and ears.

So with this out of the way, here's some of my thoughts.

- Body language -

Honestly, it's not something important, but I really love how cc! Fit uses body language to convey his character. q! Fit doesn't sprint much, cuz he knows one misjudged step, one unnoticed trap and he's dead. He looks around, afraid of every lighting, every strange noise. He looks at cats cuz how are they even here, if not every person can survive here?

Madagio himself very reserved. He doesn't move much, showing us a difference between him and Fit.

- Roses -

Boy oh boy, do I have something to say. Despite obvious connections to Pac, recently there was another moment with exactly this kind of roses. At Philza's stream on 29th of December, at one point Ramon came to Titan and started to give away these rose bushes to some eggs and Phil. It might be a stretch, but it was very strange. Ramon explained that he gave away the roses, cuz he saw one in Chayanne's arm. But with this added context, I think Ramon's admin kinda hinted at this rule. Like the rose bush is a symbol of connection and love/trust. Fit loves and trusts Pac, Ramon, Chay and Lullah, and Phil too. I might be insane, but I adore this kind of symbolism. The roses show us who he has connections to. And now we understand what's at stake for Fit.

It's not only Ramon, who's in danger. Phil, his kids and Pac (probs Tubbo and Sunny too, but they didn't get roses) are also in the middle of crossfire. Madagio knew that it's in human nature for us to connect and getting attached to others even if told otherwise. Contractor knew that Fit won't be able to cheat or escape the deal, cuz he knew the veteran will have a lot at stake. He made this contract unavoidable. I love it sm.

- Music -

Since my post about Fit and his tragedy, I believe that a lot of decisions made about videos/lore streams are intentional. Like, back in a day, when we saw first dream, we heard "Étranger au Paradise" ("Stranger in Paradise "). And this song like fits Fit (pun not intended) like a friggin glove. Cuz even still, Fit feels like a stranger, undeserving this the heaven that is Quesadilla island. For example literally today he said smt along the lines of "What did I do to deserve a son like him[Ramon]?". He loves people around him, yet he can't show it, when everyone does it quite easily. I think Stranger in Paradise can be seen also in light of relationships. Like Fit considers Pac better, he loves him, but doesn't deserve his love. Agh

So why am I saying this? Well, you see. Cc! Fit uses a few songs to use before cinematic. And today he used "We'll meet again". And there's no connection, right? But what if it's a hint to contractor? Fit'll have to meet Madagio. Veteran has no idea when or where. But he knows they'll meet again some sunny day. Like, mb it's a stretch, but I really enjoy finding this connections. To this point cc! Fit was very intentional, so mb I have something here.

- Mon Dieu éternel, je te prie -

(sorry for probably butchering it, but anyway)

Well, now I have the most unimpressive and obvious theory, that leads to more interesting one.

During this stream it wasn't confirmed that contractor is a god, but there are a lot of hints. His name being an anagram to "I am a God" (Thank you, Tumblr user, who noticed it), he can't be hury, but is able to travel through the servers, and his first words to Fit are literally a rephrased "be not afraid", that is usually connected to angels.

Now, Black Concrete is closely tied to Cucurevil and can have bad effect on a person. The only people, who interacted with it and weren't affected at all, were Fit and Philza. Why? What if it's because they're protected by Gods? Like, fitza have a lot parallels in their lore, and mb it also hints at devine nature of Madagio? Rose protects Phil and his close ones out of kindness (I guess) and sends birds to cheer up her protège or show her support. Madagio literally does the same thing. But he sends cats not to show support, but to remind that he is always there, he sees and hears everything. Does it prove my theory? No, I guess. But it gives smt to think about.

At the end we see Fit waking up (smt that we've never seen before) and sees a cat. They look each other in the eyes and veteran convulsively shakes his head, refusing to something implied. Now, I'll be honest, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, and I didn't really understand what he refused to? Was he saying he didn't need contractor's help? Idk. And this whole montage of moon, cat, and Madagio is very interesting, but I can't put my finger on it.

After browsing for a literal second, I have some ideas. Moon typically represents the rhythm of time, as it symbolizes the cycle. So maybe Contractor reminds Fit how little time he has. Like, time's running out. Cats, though, have a lot of different meanings, but I guess the most important to this case are freedom and mystery. Madagio is free and mysterious, so ig it fits.

God, i loved it so much. Fit's lore is subtle yet very important and interesting. It shows a character and builds on it so much, while explaining the world itself. Guuugh I love it so much.

And here's just some screens that shows how much Fit has grown.

He is no longer doing everything for himself only. Now he cares for others, breaking a simple rule made by contractor.

The "ITS ME CASSIDY" is revealed through.... manipulated text. The clues are in........ manipulated text. "It's Me" is CC calling out to Michael. The other spirit says "My name is..." a couple times BUT they also ask CC if he remembers his name just a few pages before. Granted this might just be us not understanding something but also if Cassidy is CC's name then who the fuck is Golden Freddy Kid. is Michael Brooks still canon

The nightmare gas didn't "ruin the lore" it's just kinda funny – look guys literally all of this lore is fucked, the fact they just threw in "also William Afton was doing nightmare gas experiments on kidnapped kids and then abandoned it for shits and giggles" in the eighth book of their second anthology series and then moving on like nothing happened while the fanbase collapses in on itself is like THE funniest thing they could've done

however this may result in me obsessively writing to avoid the reality that is the current lore/canon, so like, good for you guys who follow that stuff but rip to me

HOWEVER (spoiler warning, stop here if you don’t want to know what went down in the purgatory finale)

i don’t think Cellbit would end his character’s arc like that. This man (the cc) is WAY too invested in storytelling and lore for that (see: Ordem Paranormal) and it would frankly be, imo, a kinda lame end to such an intricate and lore-involved character. Not to mention he’d be leaving Roier completely hanging, and I don’t think he’d do that especially since they said the two of them had some serious lore ideas for their characters. Talking behind-the-scenes-ish, Cellbit is taking a three-week (?) break from QSMP/minecraft to do some other stuff, and this is his canonical reasoning for that. But i honestly don’t think they’ll completely kill off his character, especially since he has such a draw to fans, all of us love that man and would actively cry if he actually canonically died. I would say the same for Baghera, due to her in-depth lore as a Federation child I don’t think they’d just completely end her character by her staying in purgatory. We also never got confirmation that Quackity is canonically dead, im pretty sure, so that could be interesting

Also if they don’t give us back our eggs at some point I will have a breakdown

Ok holy Sweet Honey Iced Tea a LOT has happened today and is not even over yet i think.

First the waystones around spaw where missing, that weird forniture apeard, than the eggs come back all dirty and aperantly more cracked even Pomme and probably Richas. So lets go i have a lot to say about that

At first i again though it was Q!BBH messing with Q!Forever's goverment, but as the day when on i just started to have the felling it wasn't that, because more stuff started to happen and it can't be a coinsidance. So quick recap:

Q!Fit and Q!Tubbo went to take care of Chayanne and notice that he was diferent, all dirty, more cracked and if u notice his duck floatie was kinda messed up too, beside the fact that he was tired and scared and couldn't remember how was his night. Then they found some furniture around Q!Fit's base that have being placed as numbers and in a patter of white and black. At the same time Quackity Studios posted a tweet of a lot of number that CC!Cellbit's discord solved forming the word "Tomorrow"

Skipping foward Pomme, Q!Antoine, and Q!BBH found out that if you get the number that the forniture was placed in the alfabetical order of the members base that they where found, it would form the frase "Eu te vejo" "I see You" in portuguese, at the same time that Q!Forever also was able to solve it, and then confirming it to them.

Puting all of that together it will form the santance "I see you tomorrow" or "i will see you tomorrow" it may meen that the person that CC!Forever chose and the unknow ice person may come tomorrow since it a santence i portugese and a word in english. Later Q!Cellbit was able to solve the other part of the enigma getting the frase " Viva la revolucion" that may mean that the person behind this is a spanish speaker.

Now to the egg problem Chayanne Pomme Dapper and Tallulah where tired dirty, cracked and they didn't know why, beside the fact that Richas wasn't woke up and that is very weird of him, my theory is that:

1 the eggs are the one's behind it all while either in a sleep-walking kinda way or in a someone was controling them kinda way. Either way they don't remember but have the feeling they've done something wrong, they are tired because they were awake all night doing it and was a not so easy job, thats why they were dirty and cracked

2 they were used to make new eggs just like i think they were in the first time they were kidnaped when the BR'S showed up, and the reason to that is because since the other new participants are coming they will all finaly be able to get new egg

I also stell think that is just like the eventes that were happening in the elections, were the cadidates were being attacked, not something especificly done by the federation but just the admins traying to add some drama to the series, it stell could be them or someone else like the codes its pretty posible as well

I also stell don't know why Richas would lie about Q!BBH being the one stealing the forniture yesterday, neither is know what he wroted to Q!Pac and Q!Cellbit it may be something personal like Ricardão had to do something that is why Richas didn't woke up until now but we may bever know

Putting some stuff about the Forever situation under the cut so it's as avoidable as possible. If you're trying to avoid the situation, I recommend blacklisting"forever situation" since that seems to be the main tag. Stay safe.

So, a good chunk of CCs (pretty much every QSMP CC with a Twitter + other ones that were closely associated) have unfollowed Forever on various platforms, including people who were very close to him, like Cellbit, Baghera, and even Brunim. He's also been banned in Phil's Twitch chat and presumably cross-banned across many others, as that's usually how Phil likes to run things. Regardless of how any of us might feel about the situation, it seems behind the scenes, there is a consensus.

Hot take, but I don't think publicly expelling Forever with a big display and a long drawn-out speech is the best course of action. This may be Twitter drama to us, but for them, it's a real person who has been their friend and a part of their lives for the past several months. There are actual people involved, and we as outsiders aren't entitled to jack shit, as much as some people like to act like they're personally affected. An announcement just confirming that he won't be coming back with no further message, and then we all move on with our lives. I feel like there's this weird expectation that everyone has to make a huge public announcement any time something goes wrong, but that literally doesn't do shit, except stir the pot. It sucks, but it's all in the past, nothing to be done now, we move on.

(Plus, if Forever was serious about the suing people thing, it might be in Quackity Stuios' best interest as a company to just do it as quietly as possible)

That was me! That's my admin c!Dream AU, and I had a feeling that it was accurate on account of cc!Dream being a self taught coder with adhd. As someone who is also a self taught coder with adhd from a family of people who are self taught coders with adhd, I'm very aware that all of us do weird nonsense in our code.

As a bonus for sending me this confirmation, a little tidbit from the admin c!Dream AU is that the reason that players can't go to the end is because c!Dream doesn't want people dying in the void. Usually, admins on servers place safety nets over top the void (since it's something that can perma kill players, erasing them from existence), but Dream never found out about that. So his void is just entirely exposed and very very dangerous and he's just like "well I'll put a sign telling people not to go here I guess".

Secondary important thing, admin c!Dream 100% does go to the end (he has to in order to check up on stuff and because he likes the vibes) and is just running around over an extremely dangerous void without a care in the world and c!Phil finds out about this and very nearly has a heart attack. c!Dream does not understand the problem.

shelby aka shubble a mcyt creator came forth about physical abuse she endured in a past relationship to spread awareness of these type of situations and despite not naming the abuser, not because she didnt want to, it was obvious to the audience who it was. her abuser was wilbur soot a popular mcyt creator in the space for years now who a lot of people know and have worked with. more stuff has gradually been said and released about what he did and how he acted with women in his life behind the scenes and revealed he’s had this pattern in behavior where he manipulates people and harms others. today like an hour ago he tweeted confirming yes he was the abusive ex and posted an “apology” yet avoids accountability and saying sorry for what he did. after he tweeted multiple cc’s he had worked with or had been known to be friends with have replied standing with shelby and basically calling him out for his shitty apology

thats about it that im aware of. you can probably look at the wilbur tag and find posts that have a lot more detail and other bloggers who have spoken about it for days now. very much recommend doing that if you want to stay informed on the situation

a post in defense of (a very much alive) S5 Jonathan Byers

under the cut b/c this is more frustrated commentary than strict analysis, and you shouldn't have to read if you don't want to.

I feel like it must have come from the dry spell between seasons, but I have to say it: all of this “Jonathan is gonna die and that means Stancy could happen” stuff lately is not only giving "I just like angst for its own sake," it's lowkey nonsense if you look at it thematically (in context of the Jon/Nancy/Steve madness yes, but especially in context of the Byers family).

—like? Friends.

Given the Duffer’s track record of refusing to fully kill off major characters even when it could have made sense to (cc: Hopper and Max), I don’t think anyone is actually meeting their end, but let’s be SO serious about who is actually likely to get axed: the boy with a mom, brother, step-sister and girlfriend who have been central to every single moment in this show…or the one they've put into a triangle we all thought was over until S4, who they’ve honestly written into a corner, & whose primary drive in four entire seasons was getting a girlfriend and protecting a bunch of teenagers?

I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's just talk Jonathan.

The Duffers (Matt especially) have openly gotten upset at even the notion of Mike dying because "that's depressing" AND "that's Nancy's brother" (showing the familial ties are a HUGE part of what would keep them from ending someone), in addition to them saying they've thought through every imaginable scenario" on who might die—

—and you think its Jonathan whose meeting his end? King of championing "not liking what you don't have to" and the outcasts in all areas from music taste to being queer...after all the Byers have been through and knowing The Duffers write toward championing the outcasts and those who embrace their differences?

That, combined with the fact that the only "evidence" I've ever seen for him potentially dying has been that speech he gave to Will in the SBP somehow being connected to (you guessed it) setting up angst for Will...I'm gonna take a hard and wild educated guess based on the entirety of the rest of the show and say that was literally written so Will could catch a goddamn break, not as a death tag.

The fact that Noah confirmed it wasn't in the Duffer's OG script, was written day of filming + was done because "it was important for people to see will wasn't alone" is evidence enough for that.

Even so, the fact that there are still at least 4 unresolved plots Jonathan is part and privy to makes his death even less likely, because it wouldn't make sense for resolving anything for him to die at all, never mind in the episodes before our supposed timeskip.

Jonathan's messy relationship with Nancy, the fact that he's the only one who actually knows Will is gay, and the fact that he's the only other character who saw & understood the ULTIMATE Chekhov's gun in the form of that painting (on top of also having a longstanding relationship with Mike )should make it clear he isn't going anywhere from a narrative perspective...and I'm not even sure where the idea that he would die popped up, other than fandom warping the canon and projecting onto the plot.

The Duffers have always been clear about not doing things solely for the sake of surprise + not liking things that don't make narrative sense...and Jonathan's death would be both of those things, done solely for shock value.

I just. Be so serious right now. if you want to imagine the weight of Jonathan dying SOLELY for fandom angst DO THAT...but don't pretend like his death in the show wouldn't be the most poorly foreshadowed thing in this entire show, on top of not matching a single theme of the ongoing Stranger Things narrative. ☠️

Put some respect on his name lmao

Bonus: If you really want to talk about character's dying (and not just jump into angst for its own sake): they haven’t given Steve a proper love interest EVER outside of Nancy, made Dustin cry over Eddie instead of staying close to Steve S4, and haven’t ONCE referenced that boy’s family properly more than a few times in passing (and only by Steve himself).

He is the only character who craves normalcy despite this show being about championing the outcast, was supposed to die seasons ago but stayed because Joe Keery was so beloved, and has now been written into a corner where every single person who is central to him (esp Dustin and Robin) either have a new love interest or are worried about something else more than him, which...if you want canonical evidence for a possible death, you're looking in the wrong corner of this love triangle.
