I’ve got a new theory!!

It’s been a minute since I wrote one so it’s probably not my best work lol

Anyway! This one’s about Martyn! I don’t think I’ve made one for him yet actually

Spoilers under the cut

So as Martyn had confirmed under Ryan’s post, he isn’t a listener

And he isn’t a Watcher

I think he’s still a player, but one the listeners protected, and the watchers wanted to take

I think that’s why he has heard messages from the watchers in the past

They want to make him one of them, but because he’s under the listeners protection from back in Evo they can’t

So they still use him, but at the same time they try to temp him to join them by showing him all the power he can have.

Martyn has a strong will and is able to fight off the temptation, but he still is curious on the Watchers goals, motives, and reasonings behind their actions

I think at some point he had tried to ask Grian, or any of the other former Evo members, but the watchers had taken their memories (or in Grian’s case it might’ve been too painful to retell it)

So if Martyn is suspended in this in between of the watchers and the listeners, what does that mean? To me it means that he has these two opposing parties fighting for him to side with them the listeners wanting him to remain a player, and the watchers wanting him to join their ranks. Both parties keep trying to either make the other side look bad, like the listeners did in Evo, making promises to Martyn without any evidence that they’ll keep them, or by gifting him power for him to chance after, like I believe the watchers did in limited life (think a child of divorced parents, where both are trying to get the kid to decide to live with them full time)

Another point I’d like to make it, while I know the life series isn’t scripted, in lore I think it makes sense if the watchers choose who will win the season.

My explanations:

3rd Life: Grian won. Grian is also a former watcher, and as Martyn’s last life lore (specifically the ‘he was only ever meant to watch’ line) proves, the watchers don’t like that he’s a player again. So the watchers chose for him to win to once again win his favor and remind him of the power they wield. But Grian saw right through their schemes, and him jumping off the cliff on monopoly mountain was kind of his way of telling them he doesn’t need their power to be happy, and in a way that he’s better then them. Obviously they didn’t like that and so they cursed him to always be a part of his closest allies demise. I think their anger was most apparent in limited life, for example, out of the 3 people who had to miss a session, Grian was the only one without a fill in. Grian was also the first one to loose his main alliance

Last life: Scott won. Before I start this one, I will admit I don’t know as much about this season, especially Scott’s character, and I don’t currently have the time to watch all his episodes. Anyway Scott and the Watchers like mutually dislike each other. (I believe Martyn said this once) and I’m pretty sure this started in last life with Scott being the boogie man. So I think the watchers had Scott win despite their hatred to try and force him back into line. I think they wanted him to fear them and wanted him to see the extent of their abilities and control. I think they wanted him to see the truth so that he would worship them. But obviously we know that didn’t work either

Double Life: Pearl won. Pearl won because she was the most interesting for the watchers to watch, and she had the most negative emotions throughout the season. Her story was one of overcoming these tragedies while also dealing with her decent into madness. She lost her soulmate because she chose to go to the nether to try and benefit them over finding Scott. Then after Scott and Cleo left Pearl and Martyn and Pearl was already heartbroken, Martyn left her as well. Then throughout the season she becomes an omen of death and destruction. As she became more and more insane, she also grew more and more upset. Eventually she did end up teaming with Scott, Cleo, and Martyn. But by then the damage was already done. Finally when she did win, she was surrounded by grief. She had lost her soulmate again, she had also just watched Scott sacrifice himself for her to win the game, and she had killed her only other surviving friend throughout the entire game. She had the most negative emotions, and the most interesting story to watch.

Limited life: Martyn won. He won for all the reasons I said before. The watchers wanted to show their power, and get him to join them. They made him win by giving him that dose of power and bloodlust to kill Impulse and Scott. They had that control over him.

Anyway, that’s the end of my rants for now! If anyone read this I hope you found it interesting and I hope it makes sense lmao

Possessiongate - the monologue/Mike Wheeler got got (pt.1)

This now lives in my head rent free. Current theory is that Vecna attached himself to Mike somehow before he left Hawkins and has been fighting for control the entirety of season four- and that Mike’s been able to have some control because Will is his light. Vecna was described during the Hellfire game as being recognizable by his missing left eye and left hand. Important to also note that these are actually magical artifacts in D&D- I think they were both introduced in first edition before Vecna was even introduced into the lore/as a thing you could fight.

Yes I am starting yet another analysis of season four that I don’t know how many parts it will have- but I have a feeling its going to end up being stupidly long. Just like the Lighting analysis.

S4:E2 - Rink O’ Mania (Why Mike’s such a dick?)

Before I get into the whole Rink O’ Mania mess I noticed something during the airport scene.

Mike’s hiding his eyes. First it was with the sunglasses, and now it’s with the visor thing. I don’t have a picture on hand, but the shot of Mike asking about the painting sticks out to me. He’s very weird when he sees Will for the first time, caught completely off guard. It’s actually reminding me of, “he’s... my friend” or whatever Will says about Mike when he recognizes him when Will’s possessed. The Mind flayer/Vecna (up for debate who’s controlling who) knows who Mike and Joyce are. They also know who Will and El are, quite well. Vecna’s target this season was actually El- he wants her to look at him while he destroys everything. He wants someone to fight against.

I think that Mike might’ve been so weird when he saw Will because it through Vecna for a loop. Like, oh fuck there he is. The guy that can sense me. Or maybe he just wanted to fuck with Will. Because there is no reason that Mike should be weird around Will, yeah sure he knows he loves him at the end of season three but he was able to hug him goodbye. Twice, even.

Another thing I think might be happening here- that I’m more inclined to think this is- is that Mike is caught off guard when he sees Will because Will is his light. Who knows how long Vecna might have been in Mike’s head (I think it was the night the Chrissy gate opened- or that he’s been trying to get to Mike the whole time that the Byers have been away and just now is able to because of the open gate). But what if Will can snap him out of it and bring Mike back to being fully in control? Like, I don’t think Mike knows yet that Vecna’s in his head. But I think that Vecna knows that Will can snap Mike out of it and that’s why he’s getting Mike to keep his distance/ignoring Will all day. And not mentioning Will’s birthday just to fuck with him- because Vecna knows when Will’s birthday is. He learnt that info like two years ago in the Byers shed. And he also learnt how much Mike cares about Will and vise versa.

So, if Vecna’s using Mike as a way to mess with El and Will- and as a spy- then he also knows how to keep Mike in line. And why he’s keeping Mike away from Will when something happens that fucks with El.

Also they’re mirroring each other here like theyr were in the monologue. Which could be saying that season 2 and Will’s possession is paralleling Mike’s season four possession.

This isn’t as strong but thought I’d mention it anyways- Mike and Will are paralleling each other again with both positions in shot and their shoe sizes. But also 10 is very clear on both of their skates- and not on El’s. We’re focusing on Mike and Will’s skates and it’s weird that 10 is the number below 11, yeah, but it’s also weird that it’s kinda just 1. So it might be saying that hey! One’s here! And he’s been in both Mike AND Will’s heads!

I’ve mentioned before that there’s an unnecessary focus on Will- and that Mike’s line, “you were rolling your eyes and moping” and basically narrating what we see above is proof that Mike’s been looking at him the whole time. Also the lighting difference on Will’s face. But we don’t get to see Mike looking at Will- which might make sense if Vecna’s not letting him talk to Will.

This shot- the disco ball that I now forgive but still feel really oblivious for not noticing it sooner- love you Rink O’ Mania disco ball. Anyways, it parallels the snow ball disco ball in season two where there’s an overwhelming theme of forced conromity and pink and blue and then parallels it again when Max gets...fucking hell, when Max GEts Vecna’D. Jesus Christ when will it end. So, I’ll add that to the ‘Vecna’s definitely in Mike’s head’ proof. ANYWAYS- as I was saying, the disco ball is drawing our attention to Will. And we know that Mike’s been paying attention to Will the whole time, but this makes it really clear.

It’s also why I think that Will being lit like this, and being positioned like this, are all saying that Will is Mike’s light. And that’s why Vecna hasn’t been able to fully take over Mike when he’s in Cali- also because he’s just really far away from Hawkins. And again, Mike’s visor is hiding his eyes.

Okay so El’s holding Mike’s left hand here which- welp. Uh, maybe is possibly referencing Vecna again. But these two shots are also paralleling the Snow Ball again, but instead of Mike being alone- it’s Will. And it’s also showing how we see Will a lot AND that he’s in front of light A LOT.

This disco ball is also really ominous as an opening shot. So like the tone of this scene is weird. It’s meant to be both happy, miserable, weird and forboding. Or at least that’s what I’m kinda getting from it- also looks a hell of a lot like the snowball again. Really bad signs all over this place

This shot is kinda creepy to me too. It looks like- actually Ive got a picture of this on hand, nice-

it looks like the mind flayer, just a bit. The long legs and the weirdly shaped head.

Also, the red brick makes reminds me of the red setting of the destroyed Creel house. Because there are quite a few settings in episode nine that are either red of blue- surfer boy pizza and the Creel house (mind edition) are red, and the Creel house (real), the Creel house (upside down) and the prison are all very blue or somewhat blue toned. The colour of the mind flayer (and Vecna) is red. The upside down is blue. So, I’m thinking that colour theory is at work here- with these specific colour associations. Mike also drinks from both his and El’s cups with red straws. And there’s no water in the upside down so maybe they want water y’know?

This is where it starts. Just barely. The red straw in shot is also pointing to Mike and visible when we look at Will. So Mike and El are placed in from of blue and red lights. Similar to the monologue with Mike and Will being in front of blue and red lights. When Angela roles up to the table she’s wearing two watches. On her left wrist no less. Time, clocks, Mike and Will’s matching watches, what’s about to happen with Mike’s left eye- Vecna’s at play here.

You see how Mike turns to look at El and his left eye gets a veil of dark shadow around it? Are yo seeing that shit? Like, Mike should know what’s going on here. He’s literally been bullied his whole life. He should know what’s happening. But he completely ignores it.

The light is shining on Will here again, because there’s some Vecna related shit going down with Mike and I think Mike’s trying to use Will as a way to ground himself. Blue and yellow lights behind Will also point to this. Mike was the person who Will relied on in season two to get back to himself. At the arcade- which parallels Rink O’ Mania in colours- with the strip of yellow and blue lights there as well (but they’re flipped/upside down in relation to each other. blues on top of yellow here- and yellow’s on top of blue at the arcade). But also when Will goes outside and sees the Upside Down (and the blue lights) the colour of the lightning bolt outside changes from yellow to green when Mike comes out and gets him- breaking him from the trance.

I think that the very same thing is happening her. But now it’s Mike instead of Will who needs to break out of the trance.

And when Mike and El are in this shot? It’s pretty different than the one before, sure the lightings gotten a bit more sinister but with Mike’s left eye it’s a bit excessive. The literal whites of his eyes are darker than before- like significantly. Where as with El it’s not nearly as jarring.

Mike’s left eye stays in the dark even as the shot pans out. He’s also sipping his drink again and the fact that it has a red straw and Mike’s in front of red brick and there’s a red light directly over him? I am so very suspicious.

AND WHEN MIKE GETS UP???? His left eye is like this still. It’s creepy. And exactly like the damn monologue. And Mike should have known El isn’t in a good situation here, he and all of his friends have been in situations like this forever. But the yellow and blue I think is a good thing- I think it’s signaling Mike talking back control. Even if he might not be aware what’s happening.

And just to show Will because Mike’s face is just so different. Despite them being in the same amount of light/facing the same light source, Will’s left eye isn’t ominously darkened like an evil is looking through and waiting for an opportunity to strike, y’know?

But here’s the thing

Mike and Will are kind of arguing and Mike’s face is all scrunched up (similar to how it was in the monologue). And Will’s glowing as per usual this season.

And then Mike snaps out of it. Staring at Will’s lips, yes, but also because Will is his light. Talking to Will changes Mike’s whole expression- and this is similar to how Mike looked at the airport when he saw Will. He looks confused and kind of surprised ish.

And then we see Mike LOOKING at Will. And Will’s in the light, and Mike’s still not, but we see him looking at Will. And the green, yellow and blue neon lights are behind him. That S also kinda looks just a bit like a lightning bolt.

And after talking to Will? His face starts going back to normal. Like immediately after. And then Mike goes and tries to stop what’s happening but he’s too late.

So, what if Vecna and Mike have been fighting over control this whole time- or maybe Vecna’s just been influencing Mike to do shit and Will keeps getting in the way? Like Mike did in season 2?

The parallels to season two and Will being possessed are paralleling so hard right now. This is the second scene that Mike’s been like this- the other one I looked at being the monologue. Like?? What was the reason for Mike’s eye to be like this twice? (probably more than that but I gotta make different posts for those- I’ll get back to ya’ll on that)

Vecna won’t leave Mike and Will the fuck alone.

Jae: I'm Jae!

Ona: And I'm Ona!

Jae: And you’re watching The Spirit Archive.

Ona: The Spirit Archive?

Jae: …What?

Ona: The Spirit Archive???

Jae: What the fuck are you talking about now?

Ona: You added “The”.

Jae: Okay??

Ona: It's just Spirit Archive.

Jae: ……

Ona: ….

Jae: ANYWAYS!

Jae: Welcome to the very first episode, this is insane.

Ona: Literally.

Jae: We came so far in the past two in a half years…already have our on TV show.

Ona: It was about time; So Jae Jae on the way way.

Jae: “Jae Jae on the way way”….?

Ona: Explain to the people how this will go!

Jae: Basically you guys send us emails, and we read them, think of our theories, and then investigate the “Haunted” areas.

Ona: Afterwards we come back to the studio, go back over evidence and finally come to our conclusion. You'll see us back here in the studio every so often during the episode giving our opinions on what we thought during the investigation too!

Jae: Sadly, the camera crew cant explore with us.

Ona: I’m gonna miss you Dave…

Jae: So, heres our first letter from… South Park's very own! Ryen Miller!

Jae: Shelly says, “i told craig and kenny about this but they’re being so useless rn so i’m calling the best podcast out there. my friend mimi and i are at the video store i run, hiding behind a shelf of old war movies because there’s an apparition in my stock room. i’m pretty sure it moved to the basement but i’m not sure. advice?”

Ona: That's your fucking fault for not asking the pros first.

Jae: They asked for advice, not for you to start ripping into them.

Ona: They KNEWWW what they we’re doing.

Jae: Oh my goddd, what's your guess Ona?

Ona: To be honestttt, I have no clue, not enough info. What about you Jae Jae on the way way?

Jae: Oh you GOTS to stop.

Jae: My guess is it's a poltergeist spirit.

Ona: Whys that? Those are rare.

Jae: Uh well my guess is that Shelly seems pretty scared, right?

Ona: Okay..

Jae: And it could've knocked things down ya’know? We dont really know how everything first started. we definitely need to ask more details when get there.

Ona: Truuuue, mhhh okay. Well…Are you ready to start? Like this is our first big investigation.

Jae: Ready as I’ll ever be I suppose. Autobots.. roll out.

Ona: Are you dumb..

Ona: Let’s just go.. I can’t stand you right now.

CURRENTLY:

LOCATION: IN FRONT OF THE VIDEO STORE

TIME: 5:15 PM

Standing around the outside of the off brand blockbuster-esque store, Jae can't help but wonder why exactly this is the spot for the first episode. The camera crew that were unable to enter behind them so they didn't get in the way standing around, making sure the equipment was all up and running alright.

"Are you not gonna help me with the equipment? Jae? Hellooooo?" Ona complains, holding a duffle bag of things the duo will need for checking out the store.

"It's not even that heavy," Jae responds, grabbing the bag from Ona's hands, "It literally just holds the stuff we need to put on ourselves."

"Okay.... so hold it while I put it on me first, duh!"

Jae turns to look at the camera that's currently recording with a blank stare, but looks back at Ona as she connects the equipment to her, holding a spirit box in one hand and a FLIR digital thermometer in another. She waves at the camera connected to the vest Ona's wearing.

"I look hot as fuck don't I? Don't answer I already know, your turn!" Ona giggles.

Jae puts their own stuff on them and checks their laptop feed to make sure it's working, when everything is set Jae slings a backpack containing other important equipment on their back, picking up an EMF recorder, she turns to Ona, "Ready?"

Ona shakes her head, "No. Is it too late to back out of this? Like what if we... die? Bro I don't know about this."

Jae blinks, once, twice, and a third time, "Girl if you don't get your ass in there."

"Why me first? Do you have some death wish against me?"

"Absolutely. No! Bitch, if I go first you'd probably leave me alone with this spirit to go get McDonalds!" Jae scoffs.

"Oooohh.. I could so go for McDonald's right now actual-"

"GET YOUR ASS IN THERE."

"You got it!" Ona jumps and speed walks into the store with Jae following closely behind her.

CURRENTLY:

LOCATION: IN THE STUDIO

TIME: 7:35 PM

Ona: You are so mean to me.

Jae: YOU THREW THIS RUBBER DUCK PENCIL AT ME FOUR SECONDS AGO.

Ona: Why can't we be friends...

CURRENTLY:

LOCATION: INSIDE THE VIDEO STORE

TIME: 5:25 PM

"Oh shellyyyyy," Ona sings.

Jae lightly hits the side of her shoulder, "You're probably more scary than the spirit right now."

"We're here!" The duo heard a voice speak up in the back, cautiously walking towards the back, they find themselves staring at Shelly who are huddled in a corner the 'War' movies section.

"Uh... Have you two been here this entire time?" Jae asks

Shelly nods, "Yes! I keep hearing crashing noises in the basement! At first it used to just be the in the stock room but awhile ago it moved to the basement." Shelly explains.

Ona glancing around the room, her eyes shifting the rather dark store, "And you two just sat? In the dark?"

Shelly pipes up, tone shaking, "We think it broke the fuse box! The lights went out like ten minutes ago.. I think."

"Just our luck.." Ona sighs.

"Any other information you can lend us?"

Shelly thinks for a moment, "No.. it's just been throwing things around quite often.. if you wanted I'm sure you could check the stock room and see the absolute mess in there."

CURRENTLY:

LOCATION: IN THE STUDIO

TIME: 7:42 PM

Ona: And this is where you confirmed in your head that it was a poltergeist?

Jae: Well, not necessarily, a lot of spirits interact with their environment and often or not manage to throw something around a few times. The distinguishing factor is how many items they throw or how often they mess with the environment around them. They almost always solely mess around with things and they can be dangerous, especially if the items they're throwing around are, but they are more like a nuisance.

Ona: Like a baby!

Jae: Sure, Ona.... like a baby..

CURRENTLY:

LOCATION: INSIDE THE VIDEO STORE ; BASEMENT (FIRST ROOM)

TIME: 5:39 PM

Shelly groans holding a camcorder and now equipped with some basic equipment, "How did you get me to agree to do this for you guys again?"

"You agreed to a deal of a 30 year supply of monster, five cents an hour, and early access to merch. Don't come for me here." Jae shrugs.

"Right but like I work here so shouldn't I get to be let FREE? Away from this place and outside in the parking lot? I don't know.. how about not record an episode for you guys?"

Ona rolls her eyes, "Bro, shut up. You're being paid what else do you WANT? You know what? Let me play you a tune on the world's smallest violin."

Ona starts rubbing her thumb and index together, humming a high pitched tune.

"Oh my god get out of my face, Ona." Shelly grumbles.

Before anyone could do anymore talking Jae abruptly stops walking, Ona nearly stumbling into her, "Dude what are you doi-"

"Sh."

Shelly and Ona still.

The basement is quiet and there are no sounds, it's scary and dark and you could probably hear the dust settling around you if it wasn't for the fact Shelly then sneezed extremely loudly.

"Bless you." Jae utters quickly, still scanning the rooms in the basement.

CURRENTLY:

LOCATION: IN THE STUDIO

TIME: 7:51 PM

Ona: Shelly sneezing pissed me off.

Jae: Does anything like.. not piss you off?

Ona: Stan Marsh.

Ona: Anyways, what do we know about the video store?

Jae: Well it says it was built in 1952 by Mr and Mrs. Boldswell and it was their pride and joy, it was eventually passed down to their son Harry Boldswell before being renovated by him and sold to a Calvin Checker.

Ona: Can't trust bitches who have the same initial for their first and last name..

Jae: .....

Ona: Would you QUIT with that blank stare at the camera I know you use it to make fun of me.

Jae: Anyhow, Calvin Checker accidentally had three employees killed in the mid 90s when a fire broke out in the room now known as the electricity room located in the basement. It sat vacant after the incident and then another renovation in the late 2000s came after another change of owner, this time to Harry's daughter Lyra owns it, and has been a staple in South Park ever since.

Ona: Any hauntings reported?

Jae: Yeah once, in 2014 a couple who were passing through reported to the manager on duty at the time that there was weird noises coming from the basement and that in the 'Comedy' section a few discs fell onto the ground.

Ona: So why are we going here again..? Like I don't wanna be anywhere near this place.

Jae: Because we got asked to? Ona, do your job oh my god.

CURRENTLY:

LOCATION: INSIDE THE VIDEO STORE (BOILER ROOM)

TIME: 5:46 PM

Ona was scared shitless, she was checking out the boiler room all by herself and was nervous for anything to pop out, per Jae's words, the spirit box was a way for communication with the poltergeist to happen. So here she was, asking questions with a camcorder propped behind her surveilling the room, to essentially... an empty room.

Gulping nervously, she asks "Is there anyone that wishes to talk?"

The spirit box ticks away before a random "no" is heard, and Ona frantically looks around the room.

"So..you don't want to talk?"

"Hi."

"Girl make up your mind the fuck? Okay.. if you want to talk.. uhhhm say my name?"

"Yasmine"

Ona scoffs, "Girl I said MY name not yours this is MY show."

"..na"

"I'm sorry what was that?"

"Ona."

"Nuh uh, I'm out this bitch." Ona turns the spirit box off, grabs the camcorder and runs out the room.

CURRENTLY:

LOCATION: INSIDE THE VIDEO STORE (STORAGE CLOSET)

TIME: 5:46 PM

Shelly was upset, not only did these two ditch them, but the two also made them do his OWN segment for their OWN show. This was not worth the deal that she made with Jae. Not at all.

Shelly sets the journal Jae gave them onto the ground with a pen beside it and sat there.

"I'm not talking to this thing, it can kiss my ass." Shelly thought, sitting on a chair, camcorder in hand.

Shelly looked around the storage room, it was rather big and hadn't been used recently, gathering from all the dust that lingered. The upstairs storage room was used a lot more often, as it was even bigger considering it used to be the manager's office before sales dwindled and now the manager's office was downsized to a different room.

Shelly thought about dozing off, but quickly shook that idea out of his head when she realized just where he currently was.

'Scratch'

Shelly abruptly sat up, trying to determine the noise they heard.

'Scratch, scratch, scratch, SCRATCH, SCRATCH, SCRATCH'

Shelly stood up and looked around the room before remembering about the empty journal and picks it up, shock evident all over their face when he reads what was on there.

'It hurts' and a bunch of scribbles all over marked the pages. Shelly didn't need to be told twice about anything and immediately ran out the room.

CURRENTLY:

LOCATION: INSIDE THE VIDEO STORE (ELECTRICITY CLOSET)

TIME: 5:46 PM

Jae hums as she sets up the cameras around the room. Once the final camera was set she took a look at the set up she had; a few various non life threatening items were scattered about, such as a small pillow, a plastic cup, a tissue box, and an empty Pringles can.

Jae stood in the corner of the room and started calling out, "Oh ghosttttt... are you in here..?"

They could hear running, presumably from Ona and or Shelly, and sighed.

Jae waited a few more minutes in the dark before sighing and moving to start taking down cameras. When they got to the last one, the empty pringles can rolled onto the ground from where it was set, causing her to jump.

They look over their should to glance at the pringle can and just shake their head before turning back to removing the camera. The tissue box then is flung to the side of the wall near Jae's head and they pause taking in account of what just happened.

"Oh." Jae murmurs, "Well that was a dick move."

Jae collects the camera and grabs the items, being careful to not be hit by any of them, but fails because once she turned to grab the pillow, it was picked up by the spirit and flung at their head. Once it hits them on the top of their head, they pause and leave the room rather awkwardly.

"This ghost is a dick." Jae states, heading up the stairs.

Ona: I'm sorry you called the spirit a dick?

Jae: Well it was... bro did not need to throw the pillow at my head.

Ona: Oh girl you are just asking to be killed by this thing.

Ona: Can't poltergeists like... I don't know.. attach to someone?

Jae: If they can then you should so hit up Di'ona [BLEEP] in South Park, Colorado, she lives i-

Ona: CAN YOU QUIT THAT!!!! I don't need a ghost haunting ME, besides if a spirit is haunting me it's haunting you too idiot.

Jae: What if I want the ghost to haunt me? Wouldn't that be sick? A little spirit buddy.

Ona: NOT A PISSED OFF SPIRIT. Are you dumb?

Jae: Ehh.. Tomato tomato, anyhow the evidence was pretty damning that there was a poltergeist haunting the video store.

Ona: Yeah, sucks Shelly works there, because we have no clue how to get rid of it. That's why our show isn't meant on getting rid of them! Just finding out if you really are being haunted of if it's a fluke.

Jae: Yeah well in South Park I'm not gonna be surprised if all these events we get are going to be turning out to be real.

Ona: True that.

Ona: I'm glad our first episode though was something real you know? Sure I was scared shitless but... we can edit my screams out later right?

Jae: .....

Ona: We're going to edit my screams out. Right. Jaeyoung.

Jae: We're glad you enjoyed this epi-

Ona: HEY! Answer me!

Do I have my own issues with Winchesters? Yes. Do I have my own issues with continuity and similarity to the story of John and Mary we were told in Supernatural? Yes. Am I more interested in Dean’s current whereabouts during the show than John and Mary? Yes. Am I gonna watch the show anyway? Yes.

Regardless, I’m gonna trust Jensen and his vision. This man knows more about Supernatural than any of us. So I wanna see how this plays out. I want to know why Jensen said Sam as a narrator wouldn’t work out, the most logical reasoning being that Dean’s narration is taking place while he’s in Heaven and Sam’s still on Earth. I wanna know why Jensen chose to have that one second shot of Castiel’s intro scene from Lazarus Rising, I wanna know why Jensen said he’d just have Misha bring his own trench coat in that interview if this story is supposed to be about John and Mary.

My realistic theory is that Dean’s in Heaven (despite the lighting looking less warmly lit like it did in the finale and more like Earth scenes are usually shot), waiting for Sam. Either he can’t find his parents or he did and figured they were hiding their past from him or something, and that drove him to find the truth himself. Maybe he finds the people John and Mary hunted with, or someone who will tell him the story, and that’s how we get the John and Mary scenes.

My less realistic theory is that Dean wanted to tell a story of his parents that didn’t end in a fiery death and child abusing parenting of a know nothing Hunter. As rose tinted glasses type.

I’m not sure how Cas or Sam would fit into that theory, but I’m not sure how the whole “Sam as a narrator wouldn’t make sense for the timing” if they’re hardly apart during the canon timeline. Demon Dean didn’t have Baby, so it couldn’t be then. The Samulet is on the rear view so it’s clearly post season 11. When we’re they ever apart after that??

Who knows, maybe this is some alternate reality type beat. Maybe another dimension that Dean gets thrown into and John and Mary are different.

I know people don’t like that the story diverts from the canon one. I’m not sure I like it either. But somehow all this confusion of when and where and why feels intentional. Dean wants to tell a story that wouldn’t just be a repetition of things we already know.

Honestly? I just hope Cas is in it. I miss him.

Curse and Mystery Theories (Probably Wrong but Having Fun Anyway)

Just procrastinating instead of doing what I'm supposed to be doing....here are some of my thoughts about where the mystery and curse storylines may be going (I recognize I am probably completely wrong).

Where is the Mystery Going?

I think 4x09 is going to kick this story into high gear after its sort of just simmered all season. What we know for sure? They go after the Sin Eater with crossbows! That’s….pretty much the only thing the episode description told us. Thin information here.

However, from the trailer, it looks like we can also assume that Tristan gets shot with an arrow (“You are not going to die tonight!” scene) in 4x09 or maybe 4x10 (the promo photos make it seem like these two episodes will be bleeding together) so these episodes may also be Tristan heavy but not in a romantic way – more in a how he is related to the larger mystery this year

Is he India’s (the most recent corpse) son? I think this is as good a guess as any. And I’ve got a few competing theories that stem from this idea

Theory 1: Tristan is the Latest in a String of Sin Eaters. This theory banks on the idea that there has not been 1 sin eater created in horseshoe bay, but multiple sin eaters – one created every 20 or so years. Tristan is just the most recent/current one. If creating a sin eater requires a human sacrifice, then its possible that each sacrifice (the 8 corpses) were made to create a new sin eater. Like maybe there is a shelf life on the sin eaters. They can only eat so many sins before they die, requiring a new one to be created (and a new sacrifice to do so). Or maybe they just have a roughly 20 year lifespan. Either way… If India was the last corpse/sacrifice, its possible that Tristan is the sin eater “born” from her sacrifice (I’m using “motherhood” in the absolute loosest sense here). For some reason, I don’t like the Tristan as sin eater theory though. Its too easy to make the “other love interest” evil. And I don’t really get why the sin eater would have this alternative human form? Like we’ve seen monster sin-eater and Tristan. But why have these two separate forms?

Theory 2: There have been multiple Sin Eaters – none of whom are Tristan. This theory follows the same logic as above. Where sin-eaters, at some point, die or reach a shelf-life and a new human sacrifice is needed to ensure the creation of a new one. Each of the 8 corpses have served as this sacrifice. India is the most recent sacrifice. Tristan was her human biological son that the Glasses adopted (knowingly or unknowingly).

Theory 3: There has only ever been 1 Sin Eater created in HSB – back in the 1800’s. So why 8 corpses? Maybe the sin-eater can only eat a certain number of sins before it needs a “reset” (human sacrifice) or maybe there are more than 8 corpses and EVERY sin requires a human sacrifice. Perhaps we only know about 8….but there are actually many many more. Nancy said they all “came from the same section of the graveyard” – possible Temperance’s tsunami waters reanimated them, but didn’t reach the other human sacrifices? In this version where every sin requires a sacrifice, I think India was sacrificed by the Glasses or someone else (just some sad depressed lonely girl living on her yacht – no one will miss her, we’ll put her out of her misery). And the Glasses adopted Tristan (knowingly or unknowingly).

So…where does each of these theories take us?

Theory 1: Tristan is the latest in a string of Sin Eaters. And his death by crossbow leaves HSB’s elite without a sin eater. You know what that means? Human sacrifice time and isn’t Nancy just ripe for the picking? The Glasses may even want it to be her because, sin eater or not, they actually cared for Tristan in is human form and blame her for his death (I sort of believe that if Tristan is the sin eater, his human version didn’t know the other version existed. Sort of Jekyll and Hyde style).

Theory 2: There have been multiple Sin Eaters – none of whom are Tristan. While attempting to track and kill the sin eater, the Drew Crew is met with resistance from some of the town sinners– including the Glasses. In the tussle, Tristan is accidentally arrowed, by one of his own parents. Does he die here? Maybe. In some ways, it seems too soon for that. So it’s possible he does die, or maybe he survives, but the Drew Crew uses the opportunity to fake his death. And that’s a sin the Glasses would likely want to forget very quickly. And if the Drew Crew is successful in killing the current sin eater before the Glasses can do so, they’ll need a new sacrifice to create a new one (in the form of Nancy obviously). Which is what I think is happening in the trailer scene with the Glasses.

Theory 3: There has only ever been 1 Sin Eater created in HSB – This is similar to above. Same line of thinking, but if the idea is that each sin requires a human sacrifice, then they’d use Nancy as the sacrifice to forget what they did (or think they did) to Tristan.

Of all of these, I lean most heavily toward Theory 2 because it’s the cleanest. To be clear, I don’t think ALL of this is happening in 4x09. More I think the thread will start in 4x09 and carry over into the remaining episodes of the season.

Where is the Curse going?

I think 4x10 is our magic episode here and it’s really user somanypetals on Twitter who made my brain explode this morning with this idea so credit to her for getting my juices flowing.

4x10: The BALLAD of Lives Forgone

It’s now heavily theorized that Ace is going to get ensnared by a siren’s song (or something like it) – which are ultimately deadly (see: Homer’s The Odyssey).

Ballad = love song or poem and the wordplay ties into a siren song plot

somanypetals theorized (whether she was serious or not) that the only way to break the siren’s spell might be with a true love’s kiss

Good news, his true love is Nancy!

Bad news, kissing Nancy would trigger the curse and does not solve the problem of Ace dying (death by siren or death by love curse).

I think that Ace will be so close to death with the siren, that they’ll have no choice but to trigger the death curse, starting the countdown clock on Ace’s life.

More good news: this means they can kiss, hold hands, bang! Bad news, the emotional gut-punch of Ace’s pending death is going to hover over it.

This is the episode where Ace isn’t in any of the promo images….hmm.

For my partner who won’t read this...

Hello. So, my partner, who I love very dearly, is currently in the slow process of reading If We Were Villains because truthfully I. Will. Not. Shut. Up.

And they absolutely love to push my buttons because they know how much I love this book and just want to see me biting my tongue to not give them spoilers that prove their theories wrong.

One of their all-time favorite things to say is that they don’t believe me when I say James is gay.

“If he doesn’t specifically say ‘I’m gay’ in the book, I don’t count it.”

Okay, fair. Do I believe James is 100% gay? Maybe, maybe not. However, the man is queer as hell and since my morals won’t allow me to spoil anything to them, I’m gonna rant about it here.

“I was convinced I had survived the third-year purge because James would have been moody and sullen without me.”

Sixteen pages in and Oliver is telling us readers that James values him enough to have thrown a hissy fit and boycotted the rest of the year if Gwendolyn and Fredrick had kicked out his boyfriend best friend. Sure, you could take this as platonic “I want to act with my bestie”, but knowing what we do at the end of the book, I highly doubt it’s that simple. James is a wonder to behold and there is no way it was just “I’m gonna miss my roommate” depression.

“He spent a month prowling around our room in the dark before he was sufficiently absorbed in the role to pounce on me in my sleep.”

Does this look like a straight man to you?

I rest my case.

Moving on:

“‘Now,’ Camilo said, putting one hand on each of our shoulders, ‘you two are famously good friends, aren’t you?’ We smirked at each other.”

If that isn’t a “sharing a secret” look, then I don’t know what is. These two already know they are way more than “famously good friends”, but that’s way too much to get into, so they just give that look. A look is all you need sometimes.

“He smeared the blood around my face and chest and shoulders, rakes his fingers through my hair to make it stand on end.”

- If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio (Act I, Scene 12)

For this moment, I would actually like to call attention to a comment said partner made that completely deflates their entire argument.

So, they were skimming through the book to help me look for something and stumbled across this little scene here. After reading this one section, knowing zero context at all, they said:

“The fact that this is so unnecessarily intimate made me know it was James.”

I spent, like, 5 minutes laughing after that.

However, only a queer person knows how to make pouring gross-smelling fake blood over your same sex roommate/best friend intimate.

“A warm hand landed on the back of my neck; I didn’t know whose. . . . ‘Breathe, Oliver.’ I unclenched my jaw and inhaled. James’s hand slid to my shoulder.”

For context: this is the scene during opening night of Julius Caesar where Richard smacks Oliver in the ear, right before Oliver, James, and Alex form the plan to get revenge.

Does James have to touch him to help Oliver feel better? No. Does he do it anyway? Adorably, yes.

Okay, arguably, this scene more shows Oliver being gay for James, but come on. How is this moment straight?

*Clears throat*

Don’t ask me how many quotes from the “Thanksgiving in Ohio” scene I’m about to pull out.

“His mouth inched shyly toward a grin. ‘We’re not such strange bedfellows.’“

Honestly, do I need anymore evidence? This man shows up out of the blue to Oliver’s home because Oliver. Is. His. Safe. Place. This man has just murdered a man in self defense and his first thought after “I don’t wanna bother anyone so I’ll just go to Broadwater” is “I want Oliver”. Oliver even says that he looked “more like himself than he had in weeks” right after asking to share the bed.

At this point, I firmly believe I have enough evidence, but this is my SlytherClaw partner so I’m gonna keep going.

“He said it so readily that he must have been thinking of it, too. I almost laughed and turned to find him pulling back the comforter, eyes brighter than they’d been before.”

Context: Del Norte. The fact that they were both thinking about it at the same time. They fell asleep naked on a beach, reciting freaking Pericles and drinking out of a wine bottle. If that’s not a gay date, I don’t know what is.

“‘Who’s your boyfriend, Oliver?’ . . . ‘I’m James. Lovely to meet you both.’“

“If he was at all embarrassed, he didn’t let on.”

Combining these two quotes cuz they kinda go hand in hand. This man is so casual over the concept of “being Oliver’s boyfriend” and I firmly believe he reacted like that to see Oliver’s reaction. I bet you anything that man was not embarrassed, but actually thrived off of being seen as his boyfriend. Not to mention his casual jealousy when mentioning Meredith.

“His palm was pressed against my shirt, his fingers splayed across my collarbone. I waited for him to pull me closer or push me away. But he only stared at his hand, like it was something strange he’d never seen before.”

- If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio (Act IV, Scene 7)

They almost kissed. I want to know how this scene evolved after Oliver stopped narrating and how James started acting once he stepped back. I’m sorry, I live for awkward, flustered James Farrow.

“If they’d had claws they would have mauled each other . . . I wanted to look away but I couldn’t -- it was like watching a car crash.”

If you’re really desperate for context: James and Meredith making out for 5 seconds in the middle of class.

Look, there are m a n y quotes I could have pulled from this trainwreck of a moment, but they all revert back to one specific vibe. This scene gives “gay man being forced/forcing himself to like a woman” and it makes me uncomfy. Nothing about this scene gives me the feeling of James was actually experiencing everything Gwendolyn was telling him he felt. He is repulsed by her because of 1. the stunt she’d pulled on him in their first year and 2. he is subconsciously fighting with her about Oliver. He’s not into this!

And he exited the room immediately. I bet he felt disgusted with himself after pulling that, not to mention guilty that Oliver had to watch it. It was just a big bag of yikes all around and no one enjoyed it.

“I think he was so enamored with you because you were so enamored with him.”

- If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio (Act V, Prologue)

Colborne is a straight man and even he can see that these idiots were obsessed with each other.

“Wren, come up to bed with me, please.”

- If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio (Act V, Scene 2)

He does not want her. He is doing this to spite Oliver and no other reason. He even looks over at Oliver and his expression is described as “strange and bitter and vindictive”. He is running on spite alone. And guilt, but that one’s obvious.

“’Why don’t you and Oliver just admit you’re queer for each other and leave my girls alone?’”

- If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio (Act V, Scene 5)

Sure, take whatever bs Richard says with a grain of salt, but if we’re talking about undeniable evidence, here ya go.

“He stared up at me for a moment, then lifted his head and pulled me down to meet him. It was almost a brotherly kiss, but not quite. Too fragile, too painful.”

- If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio (Act V, Scene 6)

We’re gonna casually ignore Oliver being an idiot by saying this was “almost brotherly” and just focus on James. This man full well knows he’s going to prison as soon as Colborne asks him anything. He is fully prepared to throw his life away the second he’s confronted. So, in his mind, this is the last chance he will ever have to kiss Oliver and give him some kind of sign of everything he’s ever felt about him.

“When I refused again, he pulled my hand across the table, kissed it, and turned to leave.”

- If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio (Act V, Scene 7)

I have to reread these damn scenes for this and I am in pain. Six freaking years later and James is still holding onto Oliver, still in love, still begging him to let him take his place. I feel for him so much and I just want to hug him.

“And he said, ‘What are you thinking about?’ I said, ‘The same thing you’re thinking about.’ We didn’t even need to say your name.”

- If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio (Act V, Epilogue)

He was thinking about Oliver while kissing Meredith. There is no doubt in my mind that the reason James kissed her (then and during Gwendolyn’s class) is the same reason Meredith gives Oliver during this scene: trying to understand him.

And, finally, undeniably:

“‘I knew then, I just pretended not to.’ ‘So did I. So did he.’“

Oliver “Oblivious-fur-seal” Marks finally admitting to himself as well as someone else that he knew the entire time that James was in love with him. If you had figured this out ten years ago, Oliver, none of this would have happened and you and James would be living in some cute apartment building with all of your friends being successful Shakespeare actors, but no. You thought you were in love with Meredith.

*Sigh* Men.

Anyway, if you read this entire rant, well done. Sorry for repeating things you already knew. If anyone has more moments I missed, please let me know cuz I’d love to highlight them in my book, but yeah. Have this stream of consciousness, I guess.

Catalina: Can I see them too?

Alfie: Yeah, of course. Come here. I was going to give them to you anyway.

Catalina: Is this all?

Alfie: Nope. Mia said she’ll come over with another set. These ones are for the first two weeks.

Catalina: I see...

Catalina: Whoa, we’re going for a charity run too? That sounds fun.

Alfie: Mhm. And after that we’ll visit Seri Palace in Britania. Did you know that our capital used to be there?

Catalina: Yup. I read that they changed the capital because Ahtolia is much more developed than Britania.

Alfie: Smart girl. But did you know my family’s official residence also changed?

Catalina: Wait, I thought the official residence was always in Ahtolia?

Alfie: Nope. Grammy said that Seri Palace was our first official residence. But then my great-grandfather, King Albert, moved to our current palace because there were threats coming from Astor. Allegedly.

Catalina: Is that why you and Leon didn't get along?

Alfie: Not really. He was just an asshole to me.

Catalina: So it’s not because of family rivalry?

Alfie: *scoffs* Nope. At least not that I am aware of.

Catalina: Are you sure? I read that King Maximus II banned Windasians from going to Astor until his death.

Alfie: Oh, that. I heard he did it because he was angry at my great-grandfather for rejecting his proposal. He wanted grammy to marry his son, Julian.

Catalina: But isn’t Julian the heir?

Alfie: Yeah. There’s a theory that he wanted grammy to marry Julian so they could unite Astor and Windasia and take control of our country.

Catalina: Damn, you and Leon could’ve been cousins if that happened.

Alfie: Either that, or I wouldn't exist at all.

Catalina: I guess...

Alfie: *chuckles* I see you’ve been studying a lot.

Catalina: What? You thought I wasn’t doing anything?

Alfie: Maybe. I thought you were just resting and maybe helping our moms with the wedding preparations.

Catalina: *scoffs* Well, Mr. Frederick, I’m a lot busier than you think.

Alfie: Oh, really? What did you do?

Catalina: I study about Windasia's history and I also have a business to run. Remember I told you last year mama wants me to take over her business?

Alfie: Yeah?

Catalina: Well, mama just confirmed to me that I’ll be taking an Executive position in her clothing company. You’re now talking to the new CEO of People Outfitter.

Alfie: Oh my god! Are you for real?

Catalina: Mhm! But mama said I can work remotely since I’ll be staying here permanently.

Alfie: This is great news, Lina! I’m so happy for you!

Catalina: *laughs* Thank you. I’m happy too.

Alfie: We should celebrate this. Do you want to do anything tonight? Maybe we can go out for a celebratory dinner?

Catalina: I don’t really feel like going out tonight. I’m thinking about celebrating at home.

Alfie: Oh really? What do you have in mind, Miss Beauchamp?

Catalina: I don’t know~ Maybe you can help me out, Mr. Frederick?

Alfie: *chuckles* I can think of many ways to help you. But what will I get in return?

Catalina: Hmm...what do you want?

Alfie: I want you. All to myself tonight.

Catalina: That can be arranged.

*door knocked*

Mia (outside the room): Your highness? Can I come in?

Catalina: *gasps* Mia’s here.

Alfie: If we keep quiet, she’ll leave.

Catalina: No! Are you crazy? She’s here for work.

Alfie: Urgh, fine.

Alfie: Come in.

Mia: Did I, uh...come at a wrong time?

Alfie: Ye—

Catalina: *smacks Alfie’s head*

Alfie: Ow! Hey!

Catalina: Be serious, Alfie. Don’t waste her time.

Catalina: Sorry you had to see that, Mia.

Mia: It’s okay, ma’am.

Mia: Anyway, um, here’s the other half of the schedule and list of staff that’ll be with us during the tour. There’ll be two new staff members to assist the Princess. You’ve already met Rowena, right ma’am?

Catalina: Yes. I have. She’s been helping me around after the engagement.

Mia: Correct. Queen Sofia has considered making her your private secretary but Miss Anna applied to become your secretary too.

Catalina: Oh dear. So what now?

Mia: Both candidates have potential, so Queen Sofia allowed them to join the tour to assist you. By the end of the tour, you can choose yourself who you feel is more compatible to work with you.

Catalina: But...what’s going to happen to the other person?

Mia: They’ll be transferred to a different department. So don’t worry about it.

Alfie: Understood. Thank you, Mia.

Mia: I’ll take my leave now. Have a good evening, your highnesses.

*door opens and closes*

Alfie: Hey, you okay?

Catalina: I’m fine. Just a bit worried.

Alfie: Don’t be. It’s not like one of them will die if you didn’t choose them. They’ll be transferred to someone else.

Catalina: Yeah, I guess.

Alfie: Now, where were we?

Catalina: You want to do it right here?

Alfie: Well, do you want to do it somewhere else?

Catalina: *chuckles* God, I can’t believe this. Come here you.

Suspect Theory List

I’m continuing with my simplified version of my Suspect Theories so again no charts. Again I’ve put the original sus list and if they’re still active, disproven, or yet to be explored in the series. Some them I’ve shelved & others I’m considering on a small scale.

Looking at the list and seeing the stuff from my first chart is kinda crazy. In hindsight I get why the writer said what he about giving me a reward because damn near every theory I had on my chart has been explore up until this point - Suicide, debt collector, hiding, drug overdose, Prom being Mask Dog. The only things I had that haven’t been explore was Split Personality & Coma and funny enough I still have them there because whose to say Nant/Nont ain’t in a psyche ward or hospital bed stuck in a hallucinogenic dream where he has split himself into two separate people. I don’t think so…well not reeeeally.

At this point anything’s possible. I don’t know how to feel though cause imagine all of my theories making it into the series and none of them being THE right theory. Like yeah he was overdose but if it wasn’t under the circumstances I originally theorize then that’s like a half a point imo. There’s always stuff I feel like I missed because of my own biases - like Prom working with Nant for his escape. I feel like I should’ve caught that possibility for sure but because of how I felt Nant viewed Prom I assumed he wouldn’t have went to him for that but it makes so much sense in hindsight. They’re probably gonna gag me in the end. Like imagine Puen is the killer - I don’t think he’s on anybody’s list despite him teasing his own possible badness in the earlier episodes. My mom played catch up right before episode 10 & Aob was actually on her suspect list. She was so satisfied seeing his actions in episode 10.

Anyway, let’s get into the update…

NUTH ❓ Still active

- Originally the series was building a case against Nuth - he seemed like an obsessive, possibly violent, and possessive individual who was attached to & influencing Nant’s life. I felt he could be a major red herring, however when the narrative shifted to paint Nant as the possibly violent one while victimizing Nuth, I felt there were a few threads left unanswered & a possibility that Nuth might not be a reliable narrator/source.

NOBODY

Theory A: Suicide ❌ Disproven

- Theory built on the idea that Nant may have been struggling with unhappiness & his circumstances to the point of self harming.

- This theory was explored in episode 7 & 8 wherein Nuth claims Nant committed suicide due to pressures of his debtors but Prom & the Baddies feel the suicide video was just a set up video by Nant to fake his death because the clip was sent to Nuth, his laptop was found elsewhere & there was no body found.

- In episode 10 Nant death was ruled as an accidental overdose. Though one could commit suicide by overdose I’m still taken this confirmation as a disproved theory for now.

Theory B: Split Personality 🔆 Unexplored

- Theory built on the idea that Nont/a ant ks actually one person who struggles with split personality or an identity crisis.

- Theory has yet to be explored within the story.

Theory C: Debt Collector❗️Currently Exploring

- Theory was built on the idea that the debtors Prom mentioned when he first met Nont likely wasn’t Soong cause he would just said his name (and Soong admitted that Nant has paid him back). This idea branched off into 3 mini theories of what could’ve happened to Nant if he was indebted to drug dealers…

- Hiding: ✔️ Confirmed

* Theory is self explanatory. Prom faked his death and went into hiding from his debtors.

* This theory was confirmed if Prom’s testimony is to be believed and the fact that Nant’s body was fresh means he was atleast alive until 2 days before the discovery of his body.

* Given episode 10 it seems there may of course be more to the story.

- Coma: 🔅 Unexplored

* Again this one was self explanatory. If Nant owed a large sum of money they may not have minded harming him if he couldn’t pay up. This would’ve explained the lack of a body & communication on Nant’s side of things. Again this may be disproven soon as well if the clip at the end of episode 8 was really Nant’s corpse.

* I could slide this one to disproven but my second theory for Coma is that Nont is actually in a coma and all of this is one big coma dream. So I’ll leave this one as unexplored for now.

- Drug overdose:❗️ Currently exploring

* This one didn’t really have much to do with the debtors other than it being drug related. The theory is built on the concept that Nant may have had a bad reaction or an accidental overdose on drugs he was either using or unknowingly took & those around him either left him for dead or got rid of his body afterwards.

* So death by overdose has been confirmed - they state accidental but so he could’ve been hiding out and meeting someone & overdose & they dumped his body.

* Or he could’ve been intentionally drugged and then his body disposed of.

Shelved: 🛑

- Prom: Is still currently on the self even though I have to admit I can still see a path for him to be the killer but this deep in the story I feel like there’s better possibilities & likelihoods.

- Porsche: I actually do have a theory and a possible motive for him to be a killer but I really don’t wanna put it on the board without some evidence that it’s really a possibility- simply because of subject matter behind this particular theory. So imma keep him on the shelf unless I see clues pointing to my theory.(One day imma have to write a post about how I can love a Vegas but don’t see it at all for a Porsche).

- Keen: This one is of no surprise to me because I had more reasons listed for why I felt it was him but felt I had to add him to the possibility because of the mask link.

Possible additions: ⁉️

- Daddy Jason: Last time I said he HAD to be guilty something but I’m actually unsure about this one because while I think he’s a bad guy I don’t know if I’d say he’s the actual killer. For one the method of death. In the trailer we saw Jason put a bullet between a man’s eyes - why would he use his product to kill Nant when there’s easier s ways? Even if we say he wanted to kill him inconspicuously, an overdose naked in the woods is not that at all.

- Zouey: I know Zouey is a Baddie and a fan favorite which makes him less likely the killer BUT if this was a normal thriller ran by normal thriller rules Zouey would be everyone’s prime suspect. He’s the least likely, he’s well liked which makes him a suspect all in his own. But what puts Zouey on a list for me is the fact that he was supposedly SO close to Nant yet Nant didn’t go to him for help - atleast not at first from what we know. But he could’ve reached out to him later & Zouey could’ve used that advantage. I don’t think drugs or the debt would be Zouey’s motive of course - the overdose would have just been a convenient weapon given Nant’s drug history. There’s also the fact of us never getting to see Zouey/Teena’s for all we know they could’ve went and murdered Nant together & lied about having sex instead. Do I think Zouey will actually be the killer? Probably not but I wanted to add him regardless 😂 At least one of my crazy theories gotta make the board.

- Tutor: This one may feel a bit random BUT everyone in the series has something to do with Nant - even Phop had a connection of suspicion by having Nant’s laptop. And we don’t know much about tutor other than he’s a reporter so it’s difficult to build a case against him but If I remember correctly there was a message between Tutor & Nant about looking into Jason. Tutor could’ve at one point been working with Nant (or pretending to) and later turned on him. I haven’t been able to work a motive so he’s just on the possibility list.

Suspicious but don’t make the list (yet):

- Aob: Is one of those ppl who should be on the list because after the last episode he seems mad sus, however, while he seems to be working for Jason and could’ve gotten rid of Nant cause he was a threat to Jason (if he’d been trying to find dirt on him with Tutor like it seemed) but he just doesn’t make the cut for me. That may have more to do with feeling he’d be more of a stereotypical choice than any real possibility of him not being the killer tho.

- Things I still wonder about…

* Does Zouey identify as Demisexual, Placiosexual or something else?

* What is the handprint at Nuth’s house all about if he didn’t murder anyone?!

* Why did they cut the ZoueyTeena scene…Because I don’t know my brain keeps thinking maybe ZT are lying for some reason.

* 2/3 projects I’ve seen from the writer (this being the 3rd) there’s usually atleast 1 pairing that does not make it…will that trend carry into Playboyy? And if so which pairing not making it (I think about this a lot actually).

* Why was Nant found naked…

* Why the narrative around the twins being so similar when the only area the seem similar in is how they enjoy sex.

* Jason seems like the quid-pro-quo type so what does Prom have to do to be taken care of, to be the host of Playboyy rather than one of the men on the menu like Aob?

Well. I know I have some asks waiting, and my queue has died, and I haven't been around much. But. I suppose a lot has been going on.

I'm not going anywhere -- I'll get caught up when I can (maybe I'll have a day on my upcoming vacation?)

But I thought I'd give an update...

Long story short -- I'm transferring.

Well. I'm 99.5% sure I'm transferring. Nothing is set in stone yet. I'm still waiting for my old boss (who is now a position higher) to confirm with my current boss's boss that this whole thing is worked out... there's nothing really to worry about, but if y'all haven't figured out before -- I'm an anxious ball of mess half the time.

Anyway. This is all a good thing. And very sudden. I found out that I was able to transfer to a store back in my home state, much closer to my family, in the same position -- and work with my old boss again and with a new store manager who isn't.... well, I'm not sure the English language has words to express how I feel about it.

I will miss my other coworkers. I learned a lot while I was here -- and it was overall an educational experience. I'm not sure if /good/ is the right word? But it wasn't the worst either?

But mostly, in a strange way, I'm ready to go home. (Fun fact - I'm moving to the city where I sent to college... so it's a familiar place.)

And, I mean, the reason I've slowed way down on my 'personal thoughts' section is that things have been and are a lot better than they used to be. But at the end of the day -- this rather quick decision has felt more and more right the more I think about it. Because a) I think I've accomplished all I can here and b) I just can't continue to work with someone who just has a hard time with opinions other than their own.

And at the end of the day - along with sincerely wanting to be near my family - mental health is a priority. So I'm taking the leap.

So. My vacation is next week -- I'll be back at my parents' during it. I'll be doing a lot -- hopefully, everything will be confirmed by next week and I can start looking for apartments.

It's been a long road, but I'm glad I see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks for bearing with me. And once things are settled again (it's all going down in July in theory) I should be back to some level of normalcy -- hopefully with a lot less stress in my life. I suppose we'll see.

Hey man, first off, thanks a ton for inviting me to your party! I really appreciate it, but I think I'm gonna have to pass this time round. The thing is, I've been getting really deep into string theory lately, and it's kinda turned me into a bit of a nerd. You ever heard of it? It's this crazy idea that everything in the universe is made up of these tiny, one-dimensional strings that vibrate at different frequencies. And get this - these strings are so small that they're on the scale of 10^-33 centimeters. Like, that's smaller than anything we can measure with our current technology. Can you even imagine that? But anyway, I'm pretty sure that if anyone saw me at a party, they'd be like "Whoa, that guy is way too into string theory. He must be a total weirdo." And I don't wanna be that guy, you know? I mean, it'd probably wreck YOUR social life just for inviting me, haha! Plus, I'm totally focused on my studies right now and don't wanna miss out on any major discoveries by being out partying. I mean, who knows what new insights we could gain into the nature of the universe by studying these tiny little strings? We could uncover whole new dimensions of space and time, or maybe even discover the elusive "theory of everything" that unifies all the fundamental forces of nature! It's some mind-bending stuff, man. So yeah, I'm gonna have to sit this one out and just chill at home with my books. But seriously, thanks again for the invite. I'm sure the party is gonna be lit without me, and let's catch up another time when I'm not so wrapped up in my nerdy stuff. Oh, and if you ever wanna talk more about string theory, hit me up!

Widely accepted Hermitcraft Headcanons I’ve discovered since joining the fanbase last winter:

[ADD MORE IF I MISSED SOME!]

(DISCLOSURE: I’m currently 80% of the way through S7 and I’ve seen Grian’s POV of S6 (and his Evo series) but other that than I haven’t watched other HC seasons. All my knowledge of these comes from what I’ve seen, and Tumblr.)

- Grian has wings. This is an indisputable fact. Sometimes they’re white/gray like elytra, sometimes they’re like parrot wings (S7 Pesky Bird~), but they’re always there somehow. Often he’s also portrayed as a bird hybrid, since the concept of Mob Hybrid Hermits is an exceedingly popular one.

- (Less common addition: Grian is/was a Watcher, something that carried over from his Evo SMP series, though this headcanon is hit or miss depending on who’s drawing/writing him.)

- Mumbo is one of the few totally human people on the server, and half the art I see draws him with redstone dust stains on his clothes. (Also, the occasional headcanon of radiation burns accompanies this.)

- (I’ve also seen Mumbo portrayed as an enderman hybrid due to his height.)

- Stress is technically human, but she’s also a witch. Seen this one a lot, perhaps in relation to her potion shop in S7? Like I said that’s the only season I’ve seen in depth (beyond Grian’s S6) so that’s my only connection lol. But I love it! You need a healer? Go to Stress.

- Doc - of course - is half creeper, which may or may not have a hand in why he’s often morally gray in most HC plots. I often see him drawn as a centaur of sorts as well, with four legs like a creeper has. (Not sure if I love or hate this concept lmao)

- Doc is also part goat, a la S7. Hence the horns we see in like every drawing of him. Amazing.

- Tango is often portrayed as a blaze hybrid, though I’ve also seen him drawn as a kind of demon. The red eyes and fiery color palette work well for both options, though I’m partial to the blaze theory.

- Impulse - though usually drawn as a normal dude - is also sometimes seen as a sort of friendly demon. Not sure if that’s to do with the nickname Tango uses for him - “Impy” - or just the fact that the fans seem to like the idea of Hermits with wings. Though the fact that his first appearance on Hermitcraft involved the other members summoning him in with a summoning circle most definitely adds to this headcanon.

- Zed is a sheep hybrid. I’ve got no friggin’ clue where this one’s from but I’m here for it anyway. (EDIT: I’ve been told it probably has a lot to do with a game show he made during Season 5 called “Is That Sheep Looking At Me?” which sound hysterical and I can’t wait to see what that’s about)

- Scar is a vex hybrid, which is also part of why he was able to use “magic” at the start of Season 7. As far as I know this comes from ConVex, which was a S5 thing, but that’s all I know on the subject.

- (Cub, too, is sometimes a vex hybrid, due to being the other half of ConVex. Though this depends on the artist.)

- Xisuma is a Voidwalker, though I’m not entirely sure what that is. Apparently this is different than a Watcher and (obviously) has something to do with the void, but while I’ve seen this concept in passing in fics, I don’t have a basis for where this came from outside of Xisuma’s username, Xisumavoid. (If anyone can explain this to me I’d appreciate it! It sounds cool even if I don’t fully understand it!)

- I’ve ALSO seen the “Xisuma is a shapeshifter” or “Xisuma is a bee/axolotl/strider hybrid” because of how many different mob-based skins he’s used over the past few seasons.

- Ren is a werewolf or a canine-based shapeshifter. Friggin’ love this idea actually, and I’m never sure if this is solely based on Ren’s name or on something he did in a season I haven’t seen yet, because knowing him he’d totally have a wolfman character somewhere in his repertoire.

- Bdubs - and this is a headcanon I discovered more recently and it makes sense - is a phantom hybrid. He’s so finicky about sleep, and if he’s kept awake during the night he gets in a pissy mood because of it. I don’t see him drawn with any features from phantoms often, but behavioral habits show up in fics a lot. (Though a part of me finds this one funny because it also feels a bit backwards - phantoms are AWAKE at night and Bdubs abhors night time - but hey, maybe phantoms are just trying to kill you because you’re keeping them awake with your late night thoughts lol.)

- xB is often some kind of water creature hybrid, like a guardian or (occasionally, more recently) a glow squid. Super cool concept in my opinion.

- Joe may look human, but he is decidedly not normal. Either he’s some sort of humanoid cryptid, he has undefined psychic abilities, or he’s just in tune with the universe in a way most people aren’t.

Our time chapter 3!!:

I feel like I’m repeating myself a lot smh but anyway— the drinking. Misuk being all “of course,” about the fact that Jungkook took OC out for drinks to celebrate. My guess is that, after they (he & Misuk) got together, his drinking was a lot more obvious, for whatever reason. Idk if they moved in together? Or if it’s just because they spent more time together, but it must’ve happened a lot for her to mention it so much. Plus, whatever Jungkook was like drunk (I honestly can’t tell how much worse it gets, from the snippet we saw in chapter 6), I don’t think it was pretty because it rarely is.

Sexual tension, of course. I also wanna say that maybe, because Y/N is so sure she missed Jungkook as well (I can’t remember if it’s in this chapter or chapter 2), I assume that even 33 y/o Y/N with all her memories misses him, despite everything. (That’s what I’d like to believe anyway.)

Idk if you’d call it a motif, but I’m calling Jungkook’s hammering of wanting, needing Y/N to trust him, a motif. In the last chapter, he cries when she (Y/N) says she trusts him. This chapter, he makes her promise and then also says that she’ll probably break that promise. This 100% has something to do with Nabi and how that had an influence over what happened to baby Haru.

Also, JK mentions how the only time Jimin smiled was when Y/N popped by the office. Idk if this has any significance, but I also believe that any detail mentioned is deliberate, so I wonder if that means that Jimin has a soft spot for Y/N? Maybe he liked her? He obviously knows about Jungkook’s drinking because he warned him it was going to fuck over his relationships (ch.6), so maybe he was bitter about the fact that Jungkook got the girl? Idk, that’s a theory pulled out of my ass but whatever 😭✋🏻

I still don’t know if the case they’re (JK & JM) working on is about Haru’s disappearance? But that’s what I assume it’s about, because I think it’d make sense, if we consider how Jungkook might feel guilty about Haru’s kidnapping. I also wonder if the reason JK keeps hammering on the trust is because he maybe expects Nabi, or Nabi was close to the case and that’s why he kept seeing her? And, because it’s part of the case, he can’t tell Y/N about it? But then again, I can’t remember if Y/N states in later chapters that she positively 100% saw them tangoing? Or if she just suspects it because she found evidence of them seeing each other behind her back? Idk. As I mentioned before, my memory is ass </3

but to clear up any possible confusion: jk didn’t have a drinking problem in college when he and misuk first dated! so when she refers or hints at anything that she has a problem with, it’s most likely going to be about the 9 years time that yn doesn’t remember!

3. i would 100% agree with this. he is nervous. and it’s obvious. he wants to drill it into her head that she can trust him and he also wants that reassurance bc in his reality, she doesn’t trust him. and that breaks his heart and since he knows how things turned out the first time, he’s not extremely confident 🤷‍♀️ and well, as we see in later chapters, he had the right to not be confident (but he kinda did that to himself) (lmao i’m laughing for using the word “kinda” when he definitely did it to himself)

4. hahaha it’s not a bad theory! but i can’t confirm nor deny at this point in the story 🤧 jimin is an important character though because—*gun shots*

Just a thought;

Have we considered WHERE in the story this IRIS situation is occuring? For all we know, the events could be out of order- similarly to the Markiegos lore being placed out of order of events (eg. ISWM was a prequel to AHWM, proven by Dark picking up the warp crystal at the end- of course this won’t be exactly like the Markiegos story, i’m just using it as a parallel!).

So who’s to say this isn’t out of order too?

An older theory I had was that everything has been out of order since the beginning- maybe Say Goodbye is the ending and we have to find the beginning and piece it all together? Of course, i’ve been out of the loop on ego things for a while so i’m generally not sure- but it could be a possibility!

It might be a good idea to try to figure out where this current plot beat is placed- because some things certainly aren’t lining up right in terms of ‘watching the watcher’ (assuming the watcher is Anti- why do we need to watch him when he’s already escaped and presumably gone rogue?) and a few other details, even from before IRIS, aren’t really making much sense if we’re seeing the story as concise and in order instead of scrambled.

Additionally, the mentions of multiversal theory and time being broken lead me to believe that this surely HAS to be out of order for it to all finally line up together- of course, we can’t really figure out much with what we have now, we don’t really have a good guidance on where things might be, but my idea of it is;

The IRIS situation could be how this all began. Creating a creature of nightmareish proportion for the 100th anniversary, trying to watch him and keep him reigned in to no avail as he gets out anyway and goes forwards with whatever plans he had.

I’m not sure where other things are placed- but i’ve got a pretty good feeling that Say Goodbye is the ending. Especially with the implications we now have of Anti saying; “You could have stopped me- but you just watched.”

Watching the watcher. We could have stopped him. This COULD be what Anti meant when he told us that we could have stopped him instead of just sitting there and watching the watcher.

TLDR; I think the piece we’re missing is that the story is out of order thanks to multiverses or time being broken, and the IRIS situation could possibly be a prequel to the story itself as we know it! The ‘out of order’ theory, if you will!

I might be wrong, i’m not that aware of any possible new plot beats after Argentum Inanis- so if there has been any that contradict, please tell me! I’d love to hear more that could debunk or solidify this theory!

I finally started playing NEO and oh my god

(for reference as of this post im on week 2 day 4, so ya know, all of THAT has happened already

I wish I had thought to like, liveblog it or something, because I am SO invested right now. I don't think I will, necessarily, I just wanted to put my predictions and thoughts out there so I can see how they stack up once I reach end game.

okay so first, ARE we actually dead??? like I made a joke about it to my friend like “they are such Gen Z, like oh were dead? Cool AND THEN DIDN’T QUESTION ANYTHING ABOUT THAT” but then it kept going and we still haven't talked about it? Until we finally met Beat (my boy, I’ll get to you) and he firmly says he's alive. That opens a whole host of questions for me

Is he really?

is anyone else, if we are?

I’m pretty sure there's some legit dead players, but now that im thinking about it I can't remember now if they actually said they died, or if they've just been playing the game long term (Motoi, and one of the Variabeauties come to mind)

and then what does that mean if they’re taking living players??? is that even allowed???

which brings me to my second point: WHER IS JOSH??? like im not expecting him to be a main character, but he is/was basically GOD, so is this him??? I don't think it is because we thought he learned a lesson since last time, and living players was never a thing when he was in charge. So did he get taken out of commission? is he the mysterious “you” that the hat character is talking about. (I have a theory, ill get to it)

and Neku. My son, my boy, my little spicy tuna roll. How does this man come back into play now of all times. first of all, what did he do to get back on the reapers radar after three years. these ‘new’ games have been running for at least a year (we know Motoi has been playing for a year at least) and its been three years since the Big Game that took every one out, so how long have they been looking for him, how long has he been in hiding, and why can't they find him? they wanted us players to track him down and fight him, which implies that he's still currently connected to the UG in a way that lets us interact with him, but if that's the case, shouldn't they be able to like, trace him or something (that might be a fanfic thing I've made canon in my head, about people having traceable auras or whatever). because it sounded like Beat’s been looking for him too, and up until recently Beat was in the UG, so where's Neku?

and then Beat, poor guy. Why is he looking for Neku anyway? I mean, I guess if my friend is missing, id look too, but how long has Beat been looking for him? How long has be been missing? Why did he get dragged back into this mess too??? I’m digging the new fit tho, don't get me wrong, I liked Beat well enough before, but he looks a lot more Sk8ter Boi and less ‘basketball player’ now. I do hope Rhyme and Shiki are doing okay without their guys tho, I wonder if we’ll hear anything about them at all?

Also what the fuck is Hype-Chan’s deal? (I KNOW she has a name now, but she's been Hype-chan since 2012, she will be Hype-chan until I die). Like, something is going on with her and I can't wait to find out what.

Another question: I think its pretty obvious that the ruin bringers are getting special treatment. the question is, why? Whats the goal of keeping everybody in the UG like this indefinitely? because that's what it looks like to me. The whole point of the reapers game, as Kariya put it, is to find the best and brightest Shibuya has to offer, to give the people who can make Shibuya a better place a second chance at life. Obviously the rules have changed since the last time we played, but what's the point of keeping everyone in Limbo like this? Obviously Shiba’s having a good time (also, who made him the new conductor??? it couldn't have been Josh, no way) but what's even the point of having a game if you won't let anyone come back to life???

And where did all of these reapers even come from? Uzuki told us that there are reapers all over the place, but did they wander here themselves, where they appointed by the higher ups? Who's the producer now, since CAT is apparently on hiatus (I guess Sanae got in trouble after all?)

and then there's that whole vision Rindo had and keeps having about Shibuya like, blowing up or whatever. Thats a whole thing I don't even have thoughts about yet.

theres a bigger story here im not seeing yet (at least I hope so, ill be disappointed if im wrong).

Heres what I think. My predictions, if you will.

I think that something happened to Joshua after the Big Game. We know that Sanae got in trouble, so it would stand to reason that Josh did too. I think he disappeared himself (like with Another Day) and left Shibuya a vacuum, with very few strays left to pick up the pieces (Uzuki, Kariya, and that one wall reaper who said he knew Neku from before are the ones I can think of). I think that, seeing this open playing field, reapers from other districts were either moved in, or they took it themselves (they seem like the sort. All the new reapers are kinda sleazy and I don't trust them). I think that Neku, for whatever reason, figured this out, or was told, or kept some kind of connection with the UG or with Josh (hello fanfic brain, I see you) - I honestly wouldn't put it past Kariya to know more than he’s telling us so far, and to have something to do with it. I think Neku dug himself back into the UG somehow to look for Joshua, so that Joshua can fix things again - they said they wanted to make Neku a reaper, but I don't know how they pan on doing that because it never seemed like something you could force on someone, and also Beat was able to quit being one, so how were they planning on making him stay? I think that the reapers are gonna try and pull something similar to what Kitaniji did with his red pins, but this time I think the goal is to... merge the RG and the UG - it would make sense what with the living player angle, I just don't know what the end goal is.

I ALSo think that Shokie is gonna be a party member at some point, just based on the box art. Do I want her too? not really, but I think she will be.

I didn't even get into WHATEVER Minamimoto has going on, I couldn't make heads or tails of it, other than I think he’s also looking for Joshua (I don't personally think he has any reason to look for Neku specifically, outside of to get to Josh). We’ll see, I don't think we’ve seen the last of Pi Face

I have a Lot more thoughts, but im kind of just rambling at this point.
