“what's with all the flowers?” maruki notes, as he enters your shared apartment, after a long day of work. “i– i haven't forgotten an anniversary, have i…?”

you chuckled softly and grabbed your boyfriend's hands, pulling him into the middle of the room, into a heart of rose petals that you had spread.

“not quite~!” you told him, grabbing a tiny box when maruki wasn't looking, before turning back to him. “but… i was thinking… perhaps we could make this an anniversary!”

maruki tore his gaze away from the flowers and looked back at you, tilting his head softly, not quite understanding what you were talking about. though before he could ask about it, you smiled and got down on one knee in front of him. and that's when it finally clicked.

“takuto maruki… will you marry me?”

your boyfriend's jaw dropped and you could see by just looking at him how surprised and overwhelmed he was by the situation. soon, his eyes filled up with tears and he started nodding quickly.

“i– y-yes! yes, i want to marry you!”

First Kisses | Persona 5 Boys

Featuring: Ren Amamiya, Ryuji, Yusuke, Akechi, and Maruki x reader separate

Notes: You all seemed to like Take your Heart, so I wrote another hc with the boys this time of first kisses. Not proofread!!

Joker/Ren Amamiya

The thought of a super sweet and intimate kiss behind the school after class or when you meet up at the phantom den before everyone else does and Joker kisses you sounds memorable and sweet

No doubt he will be the one to kiss you first…with your permission of course!

He’ll take your chin in between his slender fingers and press his lips to yours, then coercing your lips apart with his tongue, he’ll nibble your lower lip teasingly

Might chuckle low under his breath when you gasp for breath lightly

MIght even ask you how the kiss was to gauge how good he made you feel

When you start squirming in your seat, he might hold your arm before embracing you, pulling in for another kiss as he strokes and swirls the inside of your mouth with his tongue

Even when you’ve taken each other’s first kiss, don’t expect him to stop there. He’ll want you, your attention, everything about you. That’s how intrigued and smitten he is with you

When he sees your blushing, he’ll caress your hair and give your forehead and cheek a chaste kiss <3

He’ll want your first kiss you share with each other to be somewhere beautiful and he will go out of his way to make your first kiss special.

It might be after your first date together after he’s shown you his favorite place to sketch, a quiet spot above the city or garden where there's plenty of wildlife

He might even be sketching you before he makes the move. He’ll have a sketchpad in his lap. You love the look of concentration he has while sketching but once he glances up to look at you, his model he’ll be too tempted he won’t be able to stay away

He’ll notice either a stray hair or petal on your cheek. He’s brushes it away with a thumb, caressing your skin so carefully like you’re a painting at a museum he wants to touch but can’t (does anyway :))

His thumb slides down your neck, his eyes following where her hand goes. When he looks at your lips he swallows

He asks if he can kiss you and when you agree, his movements are slow so as not to scare you. He brushes your hair away from your cheek before holding the back of your head as you lean close to each other. His lips captures your languidly. He sighs sweetly as he kisses you

He swallows again and hopes the kiss was to your liking

Ryuji

MIght kiss you during the heat of a moment - after you both get good scores on your tests, after a track meet and your school’s team wins, or any sort of good news that happened to you

He’ll throw his arms up and talk about how excited his is for you and tell you that you deserved a good score on your test after studying so hard, or whatever good thing that happened to you :D

Will take you in his arms and swing you around before setting you down then holding your face with both hands and kissing you. The kiss is hot and passionate, he sweeps his tongue in your mouth left then right, licking your lips then sucking on them

WHen he pulls away, seeing your slightly brushed lips and your messy hair, he’ll realize what he’s done

Will definitely feel shy after the fact and sincerely apologize if you didn’t expect it

When you you tell him that you liked it, he’ll want to know if he can kiss you again, this time being more gentle with the kiss, but loves to bite and make you whine and squirm

Akechi

I think he’ll be meticulous about where and how he will kiss you.

He wants to make it memorable for you, so all of his actions you’ll know he’s building up to that moment when you two kiss

Might also be after a date because he’ll want to make the whole day about you and having fun with you

Might not even have to be a date. You told him about how you completed a very important school/work project, so Akechi suggested that he reward you by taking you out to your favorite places and restaurant.

You’re ending the night listening to some wonderful jazz music as you spent many hours just talking about all the things you’re interested in, all the things you both want to achieve during your lifetimes

During the closing act of the band, Akechi will take the opportunity to tell you how much he’s seen your growth as a person and someone he cares about. He’ll tell you how impressed and proud he is to know you and how much he admires your ability to help a friend in need, how you can put attention and focus on projects or people you care about, and how everything you put your mind to you’ve always achieved

However he will acknowledge that humans have a lot to learn and he is no exception and asks if you would like to learn everything about the world together with him

Man is super shy even though he was in a really intimate relationship with someone he cared about before

Your efforts to get to know him and his past, you’ve found a place in his heart

And it’s obvious he starts to have feelings for you when he smiles each time you visit him after school and when he sees you listening so intently to him while he talks about his research

And he will always make it a habit to hear about your day and your troubles first before you listen to his. When you visit, he’ll have a stash of all your favorite snacks and drinks

Your first kiss with Maruki might be one such time when he’s made some progress on his research and you praise him about how much of a good job he’s doing and you tell him his research has serious and hopefully beneficial effects in the future

He’ll be really humble about it, but will feel so loved and supported by someone who believe understands him.

He’ll gently take your hand in his, caressing your knuckles with his thumbs. He’s not without praises and will sing his heart out about how all you’ve been is patient and supportive of him and his ideas, even when there’s times he knows not all his ideas are good.

He’ll also compliment the bentos you’ve made for him and all the times when you’ve shown how much you care about him.

Will almost sound like a confession as he lists all the ways he appreciates you

He might even bring up his previous relationship since it was so important to him, he wants you to know that he’s serious about his feelings towards you

Will interlace your fingers as he presses his lips against yours with just enough force and gentleness that has your mind dizzy with pleasure

Since he hasn’t kissed in along time, his kiss will be slightly awkward, and he’ll apologize for it briefly before he asks if he can kiss you again

but slowly he’ll remember how to kiss again and you’ll be moaning at the heat of his kiss

You end the kiss with your foreheads kissing while he’s blushing - so cute

S/O Avoiding Their Kisses

Akechi

Akechi hardly gives you a lot of physical affection since he's typically busy. You get praise and he's honest with his feelings, but not a lot of physical affection.

So he is a tad surprised that you move out of the way when he's going to give you a kiss. Akechi stares at you for a bit and for a split second he thinks he did something wrong or you're hiding something from him and don't want kisses. But he notices the small smile on your face and rolls his eyes.

He does try to give you another kiss before he leaves and narrows his eyes when you avoid that kiss too. Can't help a scoff at whatever game you're playing. You move to try and hug him at least and he gives a pleasant smile and avoids your hug as he leaves for work.

You wanted to start this game of yours, so he'll play it too. You see him at lunch and when he gets a break, you and him hang out again. And the whole time he's avoiding any kind of physical affection that you try to give him. Doesn't even try giving you kisses now until you admit defeat.

When he gets home from work, annoyed with his superiors and the fact that he hasn't had any kind of love from you, well he's quick to call you over and tell you that he's tired of this game you're playing. Is much more pleased when you do sit down with him and pepper his face with kisses.

Iwai

Also not an overly affectionate person, but always kisses you before he goes to work. His job can be dangerous and he don't know what bullshit the police could come up with to bring him in or what yakuza buddies he might see that could bring trouble.

But you avoid the kiss he wants to give you and he stares at you for a moment. Will ask you if you're sick or something and you just smile up at him and shake your head. Iwai goes to kiss you again, but you dodge out of the way and he rolls his eyes.

You visit Iwai at work during the day and Iwai tries to kiss you again when no one is in the store. Iwai never engages in affection when you're at his store. You almost forget your game at his actions, but still move aside.

Some regulars call Iwai out throughout the day of seeming grumpier than usual, to which he states that he's not grumpy and for them to hurry up and get out. At home, Iwai is still grumpy and doesn't even try to give you affection. Obviously you don't want it for some reason and he's not going to pester you.

It isn't until he's sitting down that you approach him and give him a kiss to the cheek. That causes him to raise an eyebrow and ask if you're done being childish now. You give him a grin and attack his face with kisses. You have to wear a scarf or something for all the bite marks your neck has the next day.

Maruki

He wanted to give you a kiss to your cheek before he left for work. Was a bit surprised when you took a few steps to the side instead. Maruki definitely pouts a bit. But at least you give him a hug.

Maruki is at school and humming and overthinking about why you avoided his kiss. Maybe this is like one of those TikTok trends his students talk about?

You visit him at lunch and he's happy to see you and ready to kiss you again. But you avoid his kisses again. You make some excuse about someone seeing and he pouts more.

That night he gets home and wants to just relax and kiss you and you still don't let him. Maruki lets out a sigh and asks if he did something wrong or if you're doing okay and that's why you're avoiding him.

At his sad face, you do give in and tell him what you've been playful and that's why you're avoiding his kisses. Maruki was so pouty at not kissing you that he didn't even notice you were being silly. He can't help a chuckle as he realizes his silliness. Thankfully you're quick to make things better by having him sit down and just peppering his face in kisses.

Yandere Maruki Takuto Headcanons

Author's Note: What can I say? I simp for the clumsy man with the messiah complex. (Actually, I just simp for a good amount of the Confidant cast because you cannot tell me that Ryuji, Akechi, Haru, Joker, Yusuke, and Iwai wouldn't treat their loved one right. Do I have a problem? Maybe.)

Regardless of how you met him, Maruki will always cherish you

Rain or shine, you can guarantee that he will do everything in his power to make you as happy as you make him—which is an amount that cannot possibly be quantified due to the fact that you make him so extraordinarily and immensely joyous

(And when I mean everything in his power, I truly mean everything in his power, but I’ll address that point later)

Even if the two of you are polar opposites, he will try his best to make you smile in his own way

I’d like to imagine that he’s a hopeless romantic too

While his career field usually makes one more practical and pragmatic, Dr. Maruki still holds onto the dream of being able to share an idealized romance with someone

Because of this, he’ll often write letters and poems professing his love for you, even though you two might already be in a relationship

Romantic dinners are a frequent occurrence, and they’ll either be at a place that is very expensive, significant to the two of you, or well-known for serving your favorite type of food

Just imagine that you want fried chicken, and he takes you out for some gourmet place that serves the best fried chicken you ever had in your life

Obviously, he always pays the bill

In fact, you never get to see the final price of the meal because he refuses to let you see the bill in the first place

Don’t worry though! He doesn’t mind the price

Seeing your face light up in delight makes the cost of the food completely worth it

There’s only one problem: he likes keeping all of this a secret from you in order to surprise you, but his clumsy disposition often results in you finding out anyway

In a perfect world, you would wake up to an eloquent letter—filled with nothing but compliments and thanks—right beside your pillow; though in actuality, Maruki trips on air and faceplants onto the ground with his letter in hand, waking you up immediately and spoiling the surprise

(In that situation, he prepares an amazing breakfast as an apology despite any protests from you that he doesn’t have to apologize)

When it comes to comforting you (and, if needed, providing advice), Maruki never fails to make to feel better as he’ll go out of his way to make the space comfortable for you before sitting next to you and listening to whatever is troubling you

If you prefer him to comfort you physically, he’ll give you all the hugs and cuddles you want until you feel better

Unless he has to deal with something extremely important, his time will be entirely dedicated to you and reducing your sorrow

(Although, it’d be important to note that advice he will provide might be a bit biased)

On another note, you can bet that he will always have your favorite snacks and candy on hand

But, don't think that Maruki is a complete softie

However, I can't blame you if you do think that way since he only shows you his more vulnerable and affectionate side

For all of the man's clumsiness, he is still capable of perfectly executing a malicious scheme

This is mainly done through psychological and emotional manipulation

(As one, the doctor literally studied the mind, and two, he is aware that he doesn't pose that much of a physical threat)

After becoming the God of Happiness and realising his ideal, Maruki ceases to be human, and instead becomes a concept. He is generally believed to be a being that exists on a different plane of existence, and as Mementos and reality are now merged, that is what he becomes. His presence, as he watches over the humans he loves more than himself, is nothing more than a warmth at their back, or a brush against their cheek, or in happy coincidences. Every day that he exists like this, another part of his sense of self chips away, and Takuto Maruki is a name that is lost to time. That is, until you can see him.

Being kept in a tucked away corner of Maruki’s palace, filled with trees heavy with fruit, affectionate doves that nuzzle up against you, and a thick layer of vines and flowers covering the floor. (Sometimes, out of the corner of your eye, you see these vines moving. Sometimes, when you walk, you feel them pulsate underneath your feet.) Everything you can think of that you want, appears right in front of you. The only thing you could wish for is that you would be alone a little less, but Takuto, as he tells you to call him, visits you at least once a day. At a time, you tried to ask him about how you got here, and what happened, but though he answered you, what he actually told you is a blur. When you try to remember, your head hurts, your vision blurs, and your ears ring, so you’ve stopped trying. The door is there, it’s unlocked, but you’ve never tried to leave.

If someone were to tell you eight weeks ago that you’d still be a psychology major after almost dropping Aoki-sensei’s physiology and psychology 101 combined course, you swear you’d laugh in their face. You struggled so hard on the preliminary knowledge test during syllabus week of school, so you were more than convinced that this class and this major weren’t worth your time by the end of the third class. So convinced.

Yet here you are, sitting in a reserved library private room. Old pieces of homework, revised tests and quizzes, notebooks full of scribbled notes, and two of the required textbooks sprawled across the table. Just because there’s a pretty boy brunette with a pleasant laugh and friendly smile sitting with you- like he does twice a week- teaching you the material of a class he went through over a year ago. And somehow…he’s real. But how do you know this? Simple.

“That’s correct! Nice job!”

Your fingers just brushed against his as he handed you a piece of candy to reward you for all your hard work.

There’s a light smile on Takuto’s face. A warm look being reflected from his glasses. And a soft chuckle passing through his lips. It mirrors your own expression. Just a little bit. While his gaze is sweet, encouraging, and kind…yours hold an untapped amount of excitement. Growing and growing and growing with every single answer you’ve gotten right. But what can you say?

Pretty boys make the work worth your time.

“You’ve been doing really well this time,” He praises you once more. You can sense the small amount of relief dancing behind his words, but you don’t blame him or his worries. Not one bit. “All this time, you were so nervous about passing this exam. But I think you’ll be just fine with a little more studying, okay?”

You nod your head animatedly, trying to fight the smile that threatens to overtake your face. You have to remind yourself that there’s already a piece of candy in your mouth. His candy. Just a little piece from one of the many bags he likes to bring to his tutoring sessions with you. His excuse is that rewards work! Especially when you’re being rewarded with a favorite flavor or two. But your excuse for working so hard? Your excuse for putting in the hours of trying to pass your university’s biggest psychology weed-out class?

Well…let’s just say it has a lot to do with the good-natured senpai sitting right in front of you.

“Let’s keep practicing. I know you have a lot of this stuff down, but a little more review couldn’t help, right?” He prompts you with a choice- something he does often. Something that gives you no doubt in your mind that this is the right field for him. He’s always been good at doing little things like that for you. Sure, he’s told you that he’s not interested in being a teacher but it’s all those little psychology tips and tricks you know that he has spinning around in his brain that makes him such a good tutor. “You still have some more candy left~”

Including rewarding you with all your favorite sweets.

You chew the last bit of the snack in your mouth and swallow the rest down easily. He watches you in amusement as your eyes slip from his face to the notecards in his hands, to the bag of candy sitting in between the two of you. It’s almost finished- a sure sign of his and your combined success this session. But the thought of finishing the bag fills you with even more excitement. Because it shows him just how hard you’ve been working for him. Because it shows to you just how hard he’s been working to help you too.

“Ready, Takuto-san!” You say once your mouth is free from the delicious treat. “Ask away!”

It prompts him to give a short nod in acknowledgment as he shifts around his notecards for you to find a question that will really challenge you. In the meantime, you take the chance to look around and soak in these couple of seconds of downtime. A quick glance at a nearby clock tells you that it’s much later than you thought it would be. Another glance at the same clock tells you that he’s been tutoring you much longer than you asked him to. It’s too common of an occurrence at this point for it to surprise you. Though part of you still couldn’t help but feel bad that you’re taking up so much of his time. Maybe you should ask him to join you for dinner after this. He did say he knew a place nearby that sold one of your favorites…

“Found one!” He calls out, capturing your attention once more. You turn your head back to face him, and you brace yourself knowing that the only reason he took so long carefully searching for the right question was to ensure that he was really testing you on something you needed help with. And as much as you appreciate the help, you were hoping to be cut a little slack after having such a good session. But once you saw the expression on his face and the subtle way he had now maneuvered his arms to cover a large chunk of one of your last homework assignments, you knew you were in for a doozy. But then… “Ready?”

He gives you a kind smile.

The same smile he gave you when he first introduced himself to you as a friend of Aoki-sensei’s teaching assistant. The same smile as he worked around your defeatist attitude after you were still struggling to understand your own notes. And it’s the very same smile he gave you the first time you cried in front of him because you pulled an all-nighter a week after he started tutoring you just to end up failing your exam big time. But now, that smile is more than just something you see in your worst moments.

“Yep!” You tell him with the bravest look you can muster. “Ready.”

It’s a smile that you see in your best moments too…

“Explain what Glutamate, GABA, Dopamine, Serotonin, Acetylcholine, and Endorphins.”

…and this doesn’t seem like it's going to be one of them.

You toss up an eyebrow at the ridiculous question, knowing that he knows how often you mix up your neurotransmitters. But he just shakes his head and lets that easygoing smile of his grow a bit wider. And you want to frown at him. You do, you do, you do. You want to let the pout on your face grow and at that little sliver of annoyance at such a difficult question show because he’s literally just about to break your winning streak. But then you stop for a moment. And you sigh. And you close your eyes, and you try to remember a rhyme that the two of you came up with when you first started working on this topic.

It’s hard work. But you put all your effort into trying to remember and remember and remember while trying not to listen to the soft chuckles coming from his mouth at the sight of your focused expression. And yes, it’s hard. And yes, you’d rather be answering any other question right now. At least one that you didn’t have to put so much effort into recalling the answer. But deep down, you don’t think you truly would have it any other way. You know why? It’s simple.

It’s because pretty boys make the work worth your time.

“Well…I know Dopamine is related to pleasure…”

Always have. Always will.

Making breakfast for you | Persona 5 men

Featuring: Joker/Ren, Ryuji, Yusuke, Akechi, Maruki x reader separate

Genre: Fluff

Notes: I was so happy to see some many notes on First Kisses, I wanted to write more fluff. 🫠

Joker

He makes curry for you since it’s all he’s good at

Just kidding

He’s interested in cooking, but doesn’t have much experience that his cooking is not as good as it could be

However anything he makes, even he can make normal food look enticing

Will give you a bowl of rice with side of miso soup, single serving of meat or seafood plated generously and aesthetically with thinly sliced vegetables

Honestly I think he could also make you a delicious Japanese breakfast rice bowl - everything in a bowl arranged neatly

Or rice omelet I think he would be so good at making that like it’s so simple but somehow he makes the dish his own and you don’t know what ingredient he used that you can’t seem to replicate his dish

Neither of of you have much cooking skills but if you do know how to cook, he would love to try all the foods you know how to make

He’ll definitely do all the dishes if you make him food for the rest of his life 😆

Ryuji

He would sincerely try his hand at making a homemade breakfast for you

Especially foods that are good for keeping up your energy since that’s how he usually prepared his meals when he was on the track team

I can imagine something like sausage and egg with pancakes and fresh squeezed orange juice - something simple and with protein???

I think he would prefer if you made food not because he doesn’t want to make food but because he thinks your food tastes so much better than his

Will make things like tempura and daikon carrot salad for you

Would have even prepared a desert for you; egg custard seems light enough while being fluffy and sweet

Loves to eat together with you and loves to hear you say itadakimasu and gochisousama deshta for the food

When you surprise him by making a meal for him, for each dish he’ll compliment all the ways that you used an ingredient really well and how you were artistic with the food🫠

Loves to see that you’re interested in cooking but of course wouldn’t want you cooking alone so oftentimes he will join you and he thinks it’s a nice exercise in relationship building

Akechi

Since he’s really popular as idol detective and working cases with the police he hardly has time to eat often taking short meals and vitamins to make up

But he understands and appreciates the importance of enjoying a home cooked meal

Likes to think about how different parts of a dish complement each other

Really just likes to have company and maybe some good music to enjoy food

Other times if he’s not so busy with work he’ll meal prep over the weekend

I think he would really strong flavored foods or foods with subtle taste since they take advantage of deep flavors and seasonings

He would loved to make you a simple breakfast of toast with herb butter and fresh preserves with steamed egg something light since neither of you eat much in the mornings

Also don’t forget the glass of water and tea with your neals

No matter what kind of cook you were he would appreciate what you make no matter what and will always eating everything even if it was one of your “failed experiments”🤣

Will try to guess/name all the spices and ingredients your food in the end saying your food is delicious

Maruki

I don’t want to say he has lots of time to make a meal

But as someone who spends a workday in the councilors room during school he has plenty of time after school or during the weekend to do grocery shopping and he’s very diligent about it too

Loves to think about reactions that take place in the food and likes to use wine to cook and other ingredients

Sees the benefit for meal prepping but won’t do it so much

Loves to have a whole feast almost trying to get foods of all colors while also having nutritional value like fried eggplant and chestnut rice!

Honestly he would appreciate it if you cook for him but he does it for himself so often he doesn’t mind and actually prefers to be the one cooking

Wouldn’t mind if you sat and watched him 🫠

Akechi

Scoffs when you ask to play the pocky game with him. He knows what it is, he's a high schooler, but to actually take part causes him to roll his eyes. If you want him to kiss you then just ask. He'll make fun of you for it, but not as much as he'll make fun of you for running around the subject with a dumb game.

Even if you put one end of the stick up to his lips, he glares at you. He'll open his mouth and chomp down at it out of spite. The only way you can get him to actually play is when he's pretending to be an angel around the Phantom Thieves. Makes sure you know that you'll going to get it when you get home when those idiots do pressure him into playing.

Honestly, you don't have time to blink as he's quick with his actions. He's skilled in everything he does (besides getting a therapist). You get a quick peck to your lips too as Akechi sits back in his seat afterwards and you're taken aback by how fast that was. You don't miss the sly smirk Akechi has on his face as you know he's going to fight you later.

Maruki

Maruki loves snacks and he heard that some of his students were playing some kind of pocky game. He didn't really know what it was, but he made sure to stock up just so there was a new snack in his counselor room.

You were the one that explained to him what it was. And Maruki found that thought amusing. And then he brought a box to you and gave a smile as he asked if you wanted to play.

It was a bit awkward getting it set up and finding a pocket stick that wouldn't break too easily. But eventually you have the stick in between both of your lips and his eyes are crossed as he tries not to drop it, missing how you let go and kiss his cheek instead. Maruki pouts a little but easily takes a bite of the pocky before kissing your cheek back.

Mishima

You mention doing the pocky game and he is going beet red at just imagining it. He can see how you two get closer and he can practically feel the warmth from your skin. You're waiting for an answer while he's seeing his life flash before his eyes.

He'll play the game with you from a moment of confidence, and he takes an end of the pocky stick in your mouth, only to freeze as you're so close to him even if none of the treat has been nibbled on.

Mishima accidentally drops it. He tries to nibble, but he stumbles, and it falls from his lips and to the ground because you didn't think he'd drop it so fast. He's quickly apologizing and stops when he feels you kiss his cheek.
