Dating Maverick (Headcanons)

summary: What dating Mav is like. (In ‘86 and in TG:M)

pairing: pete “maverick” mitchell x gn!reader

genre: fluff, a bit of angst

A/N: if anybody wants a drabble/one-shot or for me to expand on any one of these (or if you wanna just talk about or exchange hcs), drop me an inbox!

1986 (and a few years after-ish)

Maverick is a very gentle lover. It didn’t seem so at first, with how cocky and flirty he might’ve been to catch your attention, but after the second date? So vulnerable and soft with you.

He can sing! Like actually super well. You noticed one day and now you ask him to sing when you can’t sleep. He was kind of self-conscious at first, used to singing with Goose in a playful, rowdy manner, as opposed to softly to you. He grew more comfortable as time passed, and now he likes to sing you his mother’s favorite songs.

But also gets incredibly obnoxious sometimes and will loudly impersonate Elvis while you’re trying to get something done.

Spontaneous road trips on his motorcycle (when he’s able). Dinner in Oceanside. Lunch in Palm Springs. A pick up in Vegas. A day in Phoenix. When? Now! Now?!

Knows the Southwest like the back of his hand, actually. It’s not as fun as flying, but driving through the wide, open stretch of desert with you clinging behind him is one of his absolute favorite pastimes.

Is from somewhere in the Southwest, therefore he absolutely hates the cold. Will have the heater on in the winter time and is not opposed to getting wrapped up in blankets by you. You tease him on how easily cold he gets, and he’ll playfully go “Whatever.”

You frequently find random candid photos of you. Taped to his wall, to his fridge, suddenly framed on his bedside table. He almost never mentions them until you laugh and point them out, to which he responds, “I thought you looked pretty there.” (With a shit-eating grin.)

Definitely has one in his F-14, by the way.

Is very stubborn about his attire. Very insistent on dressing like a cowboy at all times. You had to buy him his first pair of beach shorts.

Loves seeing you in his clothes; he’s crazy about it, actually.

Very cute lunch dates. He knows the best diners.

He likes taking you out for ice cream. Sometimes you share a cone and watch the sunset and the planes soaring through the sky.

He’s the best kisser. He prefers soft, sensual kissing and it definitely has its effect on you.

He has a habit of leaving paper planes everywhere. Some with love notes in them, others with funny doodles. Sometimes it’s just both of your names written, a little heart in between.

He rambles a lot. He’s very, very passionate about flying, and about his plane. Though you might not know what he’s talking about, nodding along with a simple smile and asking him a few questions makes him so happy. “Well, no, you see..” And then he goes on and on again.

At the same time, Maverick can be difficult sometimes. Especially after Goose. Sometimes he feels he needs to be alone, but don’t take it personally. He appreciates your support, but he’s been conditioned to “suck it up and move on.” It weighs on him to have to try, so expect him to be a bit quieter at times, a bit slower. You can sit around with him as he sulks, your head on his shoulder to let him know you need him, and that he’s loved. That he doesn’t have to isolate.

You get to watch him visibly becoming Bradley’s father figure.

“Hey, about tomorrow’s date. Can I bring the kid?”

Melting when he’s got Bradley in his lap in front of you, making airplane noises with a french fry to watch Bradley giggle and clap. Your heart swells at how good he is with him.

“Pete.. You can’t take him to watch that movie; it’s not for kids.” His signature grin. “Carole won’t mind.”

TG:M

Still sings to you. Or, in general, really. He likes to hum while making you breakfast.

He writes all your dates on his calendar.

He’s very playful with you. Likes making you double over in laughter because it usually results in you wrapping your arms around him and kissing him.

But he also enjoys when you tease him. Tell him there’s something he can’t do as well as he used to and boy, he will prove you wrong. He insists he’s getting better with age.

He’s still as flirty as ever. Except, you’re already dating, so he does it to watch how flustered you get. He loves making you blush.

He likes pet names. Sweetheart and honey are the ones he calls you the most.

He still does not like proper beach attire. Will roll up his jeans and call it a day.

He loves beach days with you, though. He likes laying back on the sand and watching you sunbathe, or play in the water.

You’re almost scared of phone calls now, with the way you’ve been called and informed of the accidents he’s been in while testing his planes. Though most are minor, you can’t help but worry that the next one might not be.

You’ve cried to him a couple times, making him promise he’ll be careful.

He’s a bigger cuddler at his older age, with the habit of pulling you from where you stand, from whatever you’re doing, and tugging you into bed with him.

He likes it when you play with his hair. It’ll lull him to sleep sometimes. Especially when you gently massage at his scalp, and bonus if you’re giving him kisses too. The fastest way to get him asleep, truly.

Alternatively, he also likes playing with yours. He’ll randomly twirl a strand when you’re in front of him, will tuck another behind your ear, will softly intertwine his fingers in it while you lay on him.

When he’s able, sleeping in together. As often as he can.

He notices you so well. If something is bothering you, he’ll make sure to find out what it is. He’s also a very good problem solver (duh, but with mundane things too). You feel like he deals with a lot, so you don’t always take every single one of your problems to him, but boy, when he figures out something is wrong? Expect him to walk you through the simplest of things if that’s what you need. He has an unbelievable amount of patience with you. And if it’s something he can’t help with, he’ll at least want to be there with you as you deal with it. He can be the best listener if you need him to be.

Is a lot more domestic and able to settle down. Likes the idea of having a “home” with you. (Not that he didn’t when he was younger, but he feels more grounded now. More grown up. Able to breathe a bit better.)

He makes your coffee just the way you like it. If he’s up before you, he always wakes you up with it, and a kiss on the forehead.

The days spent in his hangar.

Sometimes, in the summer, a late night thunderstorm will pass through, and there’s nothing more thrilling than cuddling up to him in the trailer, the both of you giggling at the sound of the rain pattering and the loud cracks of thunder.

But also the days! Though he’ll be occupied with something, you’re always a mere 10 feet away, reading or sketching or entertaining yourself in whatever way you can. Other times you just watch him work. Other times you ask him to tell you his infamous stories, or about his dad. He’ll have sort of a sad smile as he talks, but you know that he loves talking about the past. You make sure to always make room for it in the tranquility of the desert.

This is Peter's "move your arm before I kill you" face 😄 aka his "I only agreed to stand here to make my aunt happy and would rather be anywhere else" face.

I realized while drawing this that I accidentally put the boys in left-to-right order from least- to most-fucked up face 😂 Ben and his perfect nose 🙄🤣 IDK what he's saying but probably something engineered specifically to make Peter mad.

He's smiling. 🙂💢 See? Busted nose. Turns out I also put them in order of "least to most traumatized," now that I think about it... Peter is a little less uptight by 2016 but... only a little. He might even not be wearing the costume under his clothes.

I know you're probably thinking "how the fuck is Ben less traumatized than Peter?" but in this case it's true. Ben is the most well-adjusted of them all. Comparatively.

Kaine is definitely wearing his costume under his clothes. Head to toe coverage, no skin except face and hands basically ever. When I sat down to sketch this pic this morning I realized that he probably doesn't like having his picture taken, because he has very bad self-esteem (understatement) and lots of scars, but probably also for Warren reasons, as essentially an ex-lab specimen. So he's hiding.

His hair would be in the process of growing back out from a buzzcut, if it's November 2016... so a bit longer than his shoulders, most likely.

If it wasn't like, May's idea to take the pic and Janine w/ the camera Kaine would not be tolerating this. He'd either leave or break the camera LOL but... if May wants a pic... he can at least pretend to be in it.

Miss Maybelle... The only one in the pic who doesn't have anything weird going on (ah, her strange nephews and their strange eyes). She has an O2 tank though. Her lungs are not very strong after 2012 because ummmm... Kaine stabbed her in the chest. (He apologized, it's fine 😓😅)

Ben's tan lines 😂 peter has 'em too but Peter is all covered up obv. Peter's neck tan line is actually way higher up though, because his costume has a higher neckline so he has to wear higher collars/scarves/whatever even if he rolls the neck down. But (not pictured) Peter's arms are more tan than Ben's because Ben's Scarlet sleeves are longer than Peter's Spidey sleeves. Obv Ben isn't wearing (the top of) his costume in this pic though. and they can both roll the sleeves up anyway.

That's the watch Peter got May for her birthday in 2007 btw. Actually the color is wrong because I didn't bother to check my own #lore but also because I almost forgot to color it at all (lol whoops) so I was just like. It's purple, I remember that much. But the strap is supposed to be "pale violet linen."

I also almost forgot to draw Peter's wedding band entirely 😂 Luckily I remembered! lol

Kaine is wearing a kilt, by the way (over jeans or leggings or something probably... well, maybe not leggings if his costume is underneath...) My goal is for him to find a different way of expressing his masculinity. related to why i am sticking to pink for his theme color (for costume etc.) and letting him grow his hair back out. I think he probably has some genders going on but not in the way that Flash has. He's not a girl. More like he wants to be nothing at all... null gender... etc... but also he doesn't have the language for that and would likely push back against it because of the way he was treated by Warren and the issues he has with like. personhood and manhood... but experimenting with (expensive) clothing is a way for him to explore his own autonomy in spite of that treatment and a way to learn to hate himself a little bit less, maybe, even though he's still very insecure.

he also has a "nazi punks fuck off" shirt, but... he wouldn't wear that to thanksgiving with aunt may... probably. I'm sure his leather jacket is around here somewhere...

i picked thanksgiving arbitrarily btw 😂 it just made the most sense as a reason for may to force i mean ask them all to come over and get pictures and stuff. kaine leaves nyc in 2012 following ben and only comes back for good in 2016, but when he and aracely first come up in the summer there's a bunch of stuff happening so it makes sense to do fall, once it's settled down...

Desert Duo Doodles! I am in way too many fandoms to count, including content creators and whatnot. It wasn’t until a doodle of some CCs that I realised how many were MCYTs. But I wanted to draw these two cause I liked how I drew Scar in the other original doodle and have drawn Grian a bunch but constantly changed the design. Now I have one that I like.

Under the cut are the individual drawings plus stickers that I forgot to add to the original but decided fuck it it’s done, plus some explanation about design choices and headcanons. (Does anyone even care about that?) Idk and idc, I’ll ramble anyways.

(you don’t have to read the stuff, I don’t really care, but you can if you want)

First off, this one was annoying since it was supposed to be a hug. I was too lazy to draw the Third/Sercet Life outfits, so they are in their default outfits with crowns representing the fact that they won at least one of the Life games.

Ramble: For Grian’s design, I wanted to keep the bird/avian hybrid but also reference other series or past friend. The Life series has the poppy has memorabilia, the blue and red bracelet represents YHS/TS, and the eye necklace is for Evo. The tail is more so a mix of Watcher magic and Avian DNA, bird feet cause why not. The wing ears are hidden to look similar enough to his regular hair, I like to imagine that wing ears are a rarer trait and to not draw too much attention, he would use Watcher magic to change the colour of the wing ears to match his hair. The freckles are based off of the idea that Angel Dust’s freckles are actually just eyes (which were shown in the show), and I liked that idea. He didn’t have freckles before Evo but after in Hermitcraft he did, they are just eyes that are always closed though he can see out of them. It’ll be clearer in the next piece, but his eyes are based off of some bird eyes so a black sclera with coloured pupils. Grian just hides his eyes under his hair since they are more sensitive than normal. Also I didn’t wanna draw his eyes cause it was one of the things I kept changing before.

I’ll go into Scar later since it’s just a half body but he goes by the same rule of his outfit showing where he’s been. So the poppy and lavender for Third Life and the heart necklace for Secret Life. The earrings are based off of the crystals from Season 7.

Alter Egos! Or at least Hot Guy and Arianna Griande. Not much here, but you can see what I meant with the eyes beforehand.

Also, I can’t be the only one to notice or at least point out that Ari and Cute Guy have like the same or a least a very similar colour palette of pink and white.

Final one, and the two are taking a much needed nap. This could take place anywhere though I like to imagine somewhere in Double Life or somewhere between Season 7 - 10

(also I find it very funny how close these two’s bases were for Season 6 - 10. both were near each other in the futuristic district of season six, then next door neighbours at the start of season seven, I don’t need to mention much besides boatem in season eight, again near the start and most of season nine with Scarland and Grian’s timejump build, then finally again in season ten with Magic Mountain. just funny to me for some reason)

Ramble: Scar is like a hybrid between an elf/fae creature and a cat centaur (that I cannot remember the proper name for). The cat half is based off of Jellie, RIP, and his body is scarred because well I mean the dude is accident-prone it’s bound to happen. I imagine that Scar would wear slightly baggy outfits, like they hang off just a bit to not hug his figure. His hair is more based off of Season 9 with him leaning into the whole elf aesthetic, and I both hate and like the hair but whatever. Idk, I kinda just wanted to make him centaur based cause that visual isn’t something I see often. I imagine that hind legs are weaker than the front so he would switch between a cane and a wheelchair that you would see for animals. I might draw that later idk, but yea

a/n: hello anon! sorry for (very) late answering this, I have no idea what to write about them, and I don't understand their personalities. but hopefully satisfy you, thank you! <33 (i accidently click "post", i'm sorry TwT) & I make them separately.

Yoojin :

I'm sure, that he will spoil you with his money. You want something? Just say the name, and later you will get it.

You are treated like a princess/prince. He will treat you kindly and carefully. It's as if you are the most valuable thing he's ever had, and you could break at any moment if he's not careful. So he provides the best service for you so that you feel happy and comfortable. So he will stop if you say so.

His gaze is always on your face. Often times you stare at each other by accident. Every time that happened, Yoojin always averted his eyes or covered his face. If only you knew, that his face was blushing, he felt like he was being carried up into the sky.

Yoojin often thinks of confessing his feelings. He is sure that you feel the same way as him, but he has to push that thought away for fear that later you will be targeted by his enemies. Even though there would be a lot of bodyguards that he commanded if that happened, it could be that the opponent was stronger. So Yoojin chose to bury his feelings as deep as possible.

Quality time? That's rare. But once that happens, Yoojin will take you to a place you can't forget. There will be precious moments every time it happens. There will be another surprise that Yoojin will give, and it's totally unpredictable.

Act of service? Of course Yoojin will give it. Yoojin is a gentleman (maybe just for you), and he will try to replace all your jobs. He doesn't want to let the person he likes suffer for some reason.

"Yoojin, are you free tomorrow?" Your voice sounded in Yoojin's ear, making him stop his activities immediately. "Unfortunately, no. What do you want to do anyway?"

"I want to take you to a place that my friends talk about. I'm afraid to be alone because this is my first time there." First time? Yoojin feels honored to be able to go somewhere with you, especially since it's your first time. Yoojin always wants to be first for you.

"In that case, I'll clear my schedule and go with you."

"Huh? I'm not forcing you! There are other things that you should prioritize besides me." Hearing that, Yoojin chuckled.

"Of course not. You are my priority after all." Yoojin's statement made you silent and constantly think about it. He doesn't give any explanation about it, and will try to find a diversion topic when you ask him. He just likes to play games with you and see your confused expression.

Yeonwoo :

Will be confused about his own feelings. He always asks why his heart beats so fast when he's with you, hates it when you're close to another, and want you to always be his. And every time you meet, he's always nervous.

He will do everything he can to interact with you or spend time with you. He always helps you without you asking, putting a drink or food that you like on your desk with a sticky note that says, "you have done your best today" with a cute doodle, and he always invites you to go with him (if you want).

Like Yoojin, he always looks at you. His eyes are always on you, at least that's an secret that everyone in your and Yeonwo's classes knows.

Yeonwoo also wanted to sit next to you. Because when that happens, you two will always exchange messages via sticky notes. And if you only knew, he kept all those sticky notes and stuck it on his study table (of course in a place his father didn't know about) as a learning motivation.

He will always take care of you, and will not stay silent if you are hurt. And if that happens, he will always treat your wounds. (Also so you two can be close) but he gets nervous when he touch you.

He often takes you to the library together, then spend time together there. He will also help you with your homework or explain parts you don't understand. Surprisingly, you can immediately understand the explanation rather than the teacher's explanation. This makes you want to study with yeonwoo all the time, and of course he doesn't refuse (he's actually very happy)

Your eyes focus on the book and try to understand its contents. But no matter how many times you read it, you still can't understand it. Because you are too focused to understand it, you are not aware of someone's existence. You finally came to your senses when the person pressed a cold drink against your cheek, which surprised you.

"You're so focused, you don't even notice me." Yeonwoo handed the drink she brought to you. "From me. Think of it as a gift because you want to study hard."

"Yeonwoo, don't you always give me food and drink at my desk?" Yeonwoo nodded. "It's not expensive." "But still–" Yeonwoo sat next to you, took a pencil, then explained the part he was pointing at.

Oh, if only Yeonwoo knew, that your heart skips a beat when you see him; how he speaks and makes such an addictive voice, his handsome face, and the distance between the two of you is close. In fact you two are almost touching. And now...

"Are you listening?" Makes you surprised and aware. "Yeah, of course. Please continue." Yeonwoo smiled, then said, “Good.”

Once again you are surprised because he just smiled. I repeat again, yeonwoo smiled! He looks more and more handsome. Yeonwoo could have killed you because of his good looks. Without you knowing it, you're smiling too. Yeonwoo immediately turned his face the other way, making you confused.

Oh and if you only knew, Yeonwoo was almost driven mad by you. His face was as red as a tomato, his heart skipped a beat, his soul was carried flying into the sky. Since earlier, he was holding back from smiling and screaming.

How do you organise the process of creating a character? like, to me its too confusing, i dont know what i do first because there are TOO MANY THINGS TO DO, like backstory, personality, looks, what they like, so what would be the “steps” to make them?

(Since @isabellaswork asked the same thing recently I'm tagging you here, hope that's okay!) Omg I'm flattered I'm the person you'd wanna ask such a big question ;v;!!? Honestly the process is different for everyone, but I'll give it a go <3 This is how my process usually goes:

Personality first, backstory later. Flesh out the concept of the character before deciding their origin story if that makes sense.

Build a moodboard for your character! The more ideas the better!

Time for visuals! Sketch out multiple iterations, looking at the moodboard for inspiration. Colors go last.

Finalize! Once you've got your final sketch + colors, draw a proper illustration and see if you vibe with the design. Repeat previous steps if necessary <3

Extra: Since you've got the design and story down, add some fun facts. This is where interests, likes and dislikes go!

I'll use my VN characters as examples below in case someone wants it in more detail! Mychael (Mushroom Oasis) and Alma (Lift Your Spirits spoilers!! + horror imagery) process ideation under cut:

Usually I start with personality first. Because for me, when you first meet someone, you see what they're like in the present; their past doesn't matter as much until you get to know them. I can decide the backstory later so it doesn't limit the personalities I'm playing around with. Of course I must have gotten the idea from somewhere so these two things work in tandem most of the time.

Then it's just a matter of how they look!

After deciding on personality traits, I start by collecting references from everywhere, even the smallest of things. I think of how I want them to look plus how they would dress. Anything goes at this stage, so just go buck-wild gathering ideas!

Here's a moodboard for Mychael:

This one was for Alma, from their normal self to their monstrous self:

Then it's time for drawing and doodles. As I sketch, I look back at the moodboard I've made and pick out things I like, while drawing things really loose. Copy paste if I need to!

I've shared the ones for Mychael here, here and here! Here's some sketches for Alma from last year:

This part takes the longest but is always the most fun! Don't feel limited by what you had initially, just test out ideas! Here are the final designs!

Then once I'm happy with the design I can flesh out the backstory as much as I like!!! so long as it fits the presentation of the character in current time. Of course this process can differ when you already have a story in mind and need characters to carry out the plot, but I'm definitely not big-brain enough to make an all-out story like that </3 I just enjoy designing characters visually haha

Oh and just for fun, I like to sprinkle in some extra (but kinda unnecessary) background info. It can be the most mundane thing but it gives them more life (to me at least!) Maybe they drink flat orange soda, or enjoy riding trains at night, or hate the smell of french fries, or think apples are disgusting etcetcetc.

Of course there's like, tips for professional character designing like silhouette, shapes, proportions but I assume this ask was for a more casual approach <3 That's all I could think of if I were to describe my process,,, I hope that answers your question!

To recap:

Start with personality traits and decide backstory later. Or work them together as one. It's more concept than visuals at this stage.

Assemble a moodboard for inspiration. The more ideas the better! Look up anything that might relate to your character if it helps.

Sketch, sketch and sketch again! Keep things loose and free. I usually start from the face, to clothes to accessories. Colors go last.

Finalize! Put everything together in one rendered drawing, and see if you vibe with it. You can always go back to previous steps if you're still not happy with it.

And you're done! :-)

GALLIFREYAN IS THEIR LOVE LANGUAGE

Gallifreyan, the last language of the Time Lords, able to burn stars and rise up empires and topple gods. But it was never just that. It's the first language he ever spoke, the language of his childhood, the language he taught his children and granddaughter. It's the language that brings him home. But his home is long gone and when Gallifrey fell, the language was lost with it.

What had meant family became the reminder of his loneliness. But he never stopped using it. He used it as a reminder of what he had lost, as a reminder not to let anyone else have to make the decision he made that day.

Gallifreyan means so much to the Doctor... And all the companions have sensed that at some point.

Rose used to stare at Nine writing on sticky notes, delicate tracings of all she didn't know about him, perfect circles and lines that fascinated her. She never dared to ask, though. When Jack joined them, not knowing the Doctor was the last of his kind, he had no problem doing it.

"What are you writing?" He asked peering over his shoulder. "Oh, Doctor, do you have a secret code you use to look enigmatic?" Smiling as he said it. "Is it even a real language or are you just using it to impress us?" It had just been their normal banter, he hadn't meant to hurt him.

The Doctor had turned serious for a moment, trying to make clear that Gallifreyan wasn't banter material-

"It's the language of my people." He answered simply. "Now," he added, a smile on his face and changing his tone completely while pressing buttons in the TARDIS controls, "who wants to go to the beach?"

Jack was confused, wanting to ask, but Rose took his arm, signaling for him to let it go.

"You're finally taking me somewhere I can get a proper tan." Rose said smiling to the Doctor, letting go of Jack's arm.

Jack understood Rose and went back to his normal harmless quips.

"Only if he's able to land the TARDIS in a real beach without an emergency crisis going on this time."

The Doctor had seen the interaction between Jack and Rose and he silently thanked her for it. He decided at that moment that if Rose ever asked, he would answer. The image of him teaching her how to read Gallifreyan even crossed his mind for a brief second.

"Oh, Jack, I'm going to land this TARDIS in the most beautiful beach you've ever seen.

And he did.

They never talked again about Gallifreyan with the Doctor, but the beauty of the circles always Intrigued them. They used to joke about what they thought was written on the sticky notes when Doctor wasn't there and that led to them trying to figure out how to read it, which circles where words and which ones where letters, failing every time to decipher it.

Rose understood it when she was Bad Wolf but it all faded away too quickly for her to remember it afterwards. Then, Jack was left behind and Rose stopped trying to figure it out. Ten would have taught her, but she never asked. Tentoo taught her without her needing to say anything.

Jack never stopped trying to understand it. Using the Torchwood files they had about Gallifreyan just like Martha used UNIT's. Working together and knowing what some of the messages said they made some progress at recognizing patterns but not enough to translate other messages.

Donna didn't give Gallifreyan a long thought while she was travelling with the Doctor. Just a Martian language. Sometimes Wilfred finds her doodling perfectly organized circles and lines when she is distracted. He hates not being able to tell her about the Doctor when she gets angry at herself after realizing she is doodling nonsense again.

When Ten met River she told him his name in perfect Gallifreyan. He thought he should have had to really love and trust her not only to tell her his name but to teach her Gallifreyan to the point of speaking it daily, judging by the accent. What he didn't know was that River had born with the ability to talk Gallifreyan, she was, after all, the daughter of the TARDIS.

Jack and River came across each other a couple of times, forming a close friendship over the years. Their love for the Doctor made them create a special bond. At that point Jack had lost all hope in learning Gallifreyan; his adventures with the Doctor had happened centuries ago and understanding sticky notes around the TARDIS had no sense anymore. He had given up the thought of travelling with him again. When River offered to teach him anyway his face lit up with a smile.

Eleven hid his past inside himself, so when the TARDIS redecorated he made sure not to have Gallifreyan anywhere visible. Amy learnt about it when River used it to contact the Doctor but she was more interested in the adventure so she never thought to ask. That's what Eleven loved about her. (Because Army didn't ask, neither did Rory.)

When they got trapped by the angels in Manhattan, Amy's way to cope with loosing the Doctor was listening to the stories her daughter told her. She started to get interested in the little things she hadn't been able to appreciate with the adrenaline of the moment, trying to hold on to anything that reminded her of that moment of her life. When River understood it, she taught Amy to read and write Gallifreyan. Soon, the Pond's house started filling with messages: reminders and recipes written in a language only Amy, Rory and their two children could understand and a letter from Amy for only her Raggedy Man to read once he was ready.

When Eleven met Clara he fell for her, every time. He redecorated the TARDIS for her to ask about Gallifreyan, ready to share that part of his life with her. Clara was like Amy, though, always invested in the adventure, slowly falling for the Doctor. But when he changed, she changed too. Twelve eventually accepted Clara was never going to ask, so he started to write in English in the blackboards of the TARDIS for her to understand what he wrote but still leaving the Gallifreyan in the console's decoration. He adapted to her but he quietly hopped she would do the same one day.

Clara was forced to learn Gallifreyan in order to fly the TARDIS. Me taught her. She had learnt it many years before from her old friend, the Face of Boe.

The first time River spoke Gallifreyan in front of the Doctor was during their night in Darillium. She called him anidiot. She had gotten used to insulting people in Gallifreyan and switching languages was an instinct. River saw the Doctor cry for the first time that day. She hugged him in the floor while the Doctor told her about his kids and his marvelous granddaughter, all in the language of his people. At that moment she had thought that she had reminded him of everyone he had lost when she spoke Gallifreyan. Now, however, she understands the Doctor was thinking about how he was going to lose the only person he had left with whom he could speak it.

When the Doctor let Missy into the TARDIS with Bill, she made a comment about him having the names of his companions as decoration in the console. It took the Doctor a second to realize that Missy understood Gallifreyan, he had been guarding the vault for years and he had never spoken to Missy in their native language.

"We don't speak Gallifreyan." The Doctor mentioned once they were alone in the vault.

"Always so observant, Doctor" Missy rolled her eyes.

The only time he spoke Gallifreyan with Missy was when he was trying to convince her and the Master to stay and fight with him against the cybermen. The next time they saw each other, O spoke in Gallifreyan ("I did say the spy... master."), Thirteen didn't give him the privilege of answering in Gallifreyan.

In the year 2023 a giant graffiti of circles appears in London. It says "You are not alone". Yaz wrote it. She doesn't know Gallifreyan but she asked Jack to translate that sentence after one of her Companions Meetings.

The Doctor knows about the graffiti but she doesn't know who wrote it. She doesn't know that almost all her companions know Gallifreyan. She thinks it's something from her future, not realizing she has already Inspired so many people, not realizing that her companions can sense how much Gallifreyan means to her. Not realizing that Gallifreyan is their love language.

Thinking about modern au artist HC who excels at various traditional art forms including ceramics, painting, and sculpting. Soon enough, the time comes for HC to learn the witchcraft that is digital art.

And man is it a phat STRUGGLE.

In general, HC talks out loud to himself during his artistic process - a quirk that XL (the husband) can’t help but find endearing.

(HC waiting for his shit to render: “anytime now…preferably within the next century…” 🙄

HC shading: “what if we make you a little darker? just like that…hmm, I don’t hate it-??”

HC, confused: *aggressively scribbles on the screen* “HELLO?? WHY ARENT YOU BLENDING!?”

One popular stan account had successfully gathered clues over the years. After comparing a lot of pics, lives, doodles, etc., they come to the conclusion that the signature is actually a word.

But what exactly does it say?

Still unknown.

And when some indie magazine goes and interviews HC, THEY HAVE TO ASK.

random robin buckley headcanons yea (ft. ronance and platonic stobin)

(i also projected extremely on her btw, it’s not my fault her whole personality is also mine)

- so we all agree that robin is at least neurodivergent right? anyways robin has so many rings and stuff to stop herself from picking at skin/nails. they don’t work as a distraction all the time but it’s better than having her fingers covered bandaids 24/7. steve would notice sometimes and give her something to occupy her hands or, if they’re someplace where they can’t goof around, he’ll let her play with his hands.

- robin loves having inside jokes with people but absolutely hates when she doesn’t understand other peoples inside jokes.

- robin is an abba lover.

- robin has a really messy room but still organized in a sense. everything is where you can see it, not put away in a drawer and forgotten, making it easier to locate her things. she will get upset if someone moves something and doesn’t tell her where they put it.

- her sleep schedule is not even a schedule at this point. there’s no pattern at all. she’ll be sitting on her bed with like dozens of papers for like a new language one night. and then a couple days later, she’s in steve’s car and telling him about the great 16 solid hours she slept.

- speaking of sleeping, she has the most bizarre dreams (like argyle in my jargyle hc’s) and will retell each dream as many times as it takes for everyone to hear about it. but as she’s telling this one person about a dream, she’ll remember something else that happened in that dream and then everyone gets the same story but slightly different from each others.

- won’t wear any other shoe except converse.

- has been rotating the same 4 outfits for like 2 years now. she’s very picky about whether this plain shirt should go with blah blah. she’s just gotta look cool in public.

- secretly loves her hair as much as steve loves his.

- robin obviously likes to doodle on things (her shoes) so steve and nancy will let her draw on them. they both got a little too trusting with the maturity of her art and then ended up with male and female genitals drawn all over them (she switched out her sharpie for a pen on those ones because she would feel bad after). she writes little jokes and would just wait for her victim to question it.

- she likes rocks. not like a full on collector but just likes to point them out when seeing a shiny one. ok yea she’s not a collector but she definitely does have some cool rocks in her room somewhere.

- robin is a warm person. her body temp could get so high that she just wants to climb in a freezer. on the other hand, nancy gets super cold. her hands, nose, and ears specifically. so naturally, nancy is always staying really close to robin like robin’s her personal heater. robin unintentionally flirts with nancy using her furnace hands. like nancy would be wearing earmuffs and complaining how she’s just getting colder by the second. and then in comes robin taking off nancy’s earmuffs and holding her hands on each side of nancy’s head. nancy sticks to robin like glue after that.

- robin hasn’t lost one single staring contest (not counting the ones who cheat aka steve, dustin, and max). steve has to warn everyone who goes against her because he’s seen her stare at a wall for 4 minutes straight during their shift in family video. only one person has gotten close to beating her and that was jonathon.

- steve and robin have matching best friend necklaces like the cheap necklaces that would break in a millisecond. yet they still treat it as if it were sack of diamonds. they agreed that they’d bring the necklaces to the grave with them.

- robin gets super excited for other peoples birthday. like she gets to show her friends how much she appreciates them with gifts on the day of their birth!!!! so steve would give her a whole bunch of cash and just tell her to go crazy. and so she does. after his shift at family video, he gets to his house and finds decorations on decorations. there’s presents set by the table and everyone is there. the byers + the hoppers, the wheelers (minus t*d), the sinclairs, and the hendersons. his house has never truly looked like a home more than it has in this moment. robin knew this too. and robin wasn’t surprised when steve tried to wipe his eyes without anyone noticing. robin then hands him a wimpy looking cake with a giant cake art rendition of steve’s hair. it was the best god damn cake steve ever had.

(anyways i think imma leave it on that giant hc that definitely felt like more of a short fic lmao)

Okay so I completely forgot to mention this, it was brought up in the doodle stream a couple days ago

But

Basically a police au?? Idk what to call it

But

Nevermore is the worlds largest renowned police station, best know for their breaks in crime busts

Deans run it, obviously. They own it actually as it was handed to them on a silver platter

Annabel’s father is the commissioner

High up there, Annabel is being trained to take over his position so she’s also a detective there. She strategically plans out the busts and best ways to take down any crime ring. As much as her father hates it, she deals in homicide cases most of the time

Prospero is her partner, helping her out when he can and since they’re both quite the observant type, they tend to get things done quickly. He and Annabel trust each other to their fullest (at least to him, that’s what he thinks…)

Ada is the newbie wannabe that no one knows how she got the job as detective because she had no clue what to do half the time, if not most. But some think that it’s because Morella convinced Annabel’s father to give her a chance but Morella was responsible for whatever Ada does. And Morella took that burden bc she likes Ada and sees potential.

Montresor was ..a criminal, but he persuaded someone, no one knows who, that he could turn a better leaf for the eyes of God (ew) and show them he’s a better person.

Will followed, he always follows him. But there’s something off about him, everyone treats Will better than Montresor but still pretty bad bc of how he acts..

That’s for their lil fucked up group

But..

They have competition, and no not from another Detective unit.

The misfits are a group of highly trained lil…well, misfits.

Criminals.

And they aren’t caught

It’s impossible to catch them

Because who else but Lenore snagging her family wealth every once in a while for a “business investment” to help the misfits out?

Yeah, lenore has no regrets

Lenore was born into a higher up and was supposed to be by her fathers side to help the Detective unit of Nevermore. Obviously ,,, she had other plans. When she lost her brother she lost complete interest and told her father she’d rather go into business, investing and profiting off of high end businesses.

Whenever she gets caught, she’s very VERY persuasive, and is let go. Because who else but a powerful daughter of a powerful man? Once Lenore’s father get wind of her getting in trouble it’s bad for both them both.

Duke is her right hand, and behind every lock and pick, Duke is the one who is able to get past any and all closed doors. From either dressing up as an employee or squeezing his way through tint cracks and dents, if you want in somewhere, Duke is there for you.

Pluto helps duke out but only to an extent of his knowledge. Pluto can gather any intel anywhere, maps to places, who’s working wheee, how long they worked there. He can get plans digital or on paper. Take your pick he’ll get it for you either way.

Eulalie is with Berenice, they go undercover at whatever places, mostly high end bars or restaurants. Doesn’t matter, they can get in and if they’re questioned, Lenore convinces said person that caught them that they just started..

And on their plans go.

Morella..used to be a part of it, but since she left Lenore has her tracks covered and had duke and Pluto erase any evidence she was apart of their group.

Brain still melted but, I wanted to share general thoughts that I have of an scenario where Forever comes back. Yeah let's say he has the eggs with him, cause I don't want to think of the no egg world now

Under a cut so I can ramble <3

First, Forever would look fucked up coming back from the nether okay? He is not a fighter and yet, he had to fight daily for survival, kill monster that he never even dreamed off. He exploded so many things.

His hair that once was long is now a bit burnt, all uneven at the tips and you can see a single black streak in the middle of the blonde ones. His braid has been unmade long ago, he fights with his hair loose, all around his face and sometimes sticking to wounds, he hates it but can't bring himself to cut it.

His suit is torn and somewhere along the way he lost the jacket, only the shirt underneath is left, you can see golden scars going up his arms from the amount of totems he had to use. And you can see burn scars on his hands, neck, face from all the explosions he had to make to keep monsters away from him and from the eggs.

When he comes back though... He is weak, his body doesn't seem to deal well with the fact that he is not on the nether anymore, he suddenly feels all the wounds crash at him at once, his vision is dizzy and he can vaguely see people coming towards him but when they try to touch him he just backs up, the fear and instinct for survival taking over. He passes out after that.

After waking up on the order infirmary, at the exact same bed he was during his last coma, Richas is sitting at his bed, also covered in bandages and doodling on a cast on Talullah's arm, all the eggs are also in the infirmary, some of them with more bandages then others but they are all THERE and that's what matters really.

Regressor!Wednesday Headcanons

I basically binged the whole show in 2 days while sick and studying for finals! Is that going to stop me from spreading the little wednesday agenda? absolutely NOT! here are some headcanons because I think she’d be the cutest regressor ever. I also take requests! <3

Wednesday is an involuntary age regressor. Years of trauma and a childhood that was rather isolating caused her to sink into her headspace for the first time. Her family knows but she pretends they don’t, and the person she’s most comfortable regressing around is Enid, of course! She’s very quiet and has a difficult time asking for things. Sometimes it’s hard for Enid to tell if she’s regressed, but the lack of a witty Wednesday-like response is an immediate answer.

She absolutely loves building things when she’s small. Sitting on Enid’s bed with a Lego set in front of her puts the smallest of smiles across her lips. When she’s super focused her tongue pokes out and she can literally sit and work on something for hours.

Wednesday gets very overstimulated from loud noises. She doesn’t like playing her Cello when small, nor can she stand it when Enid turns her music on in their room. One of Wednesday’s ways to cope with all of the big feelings that come to the surface when she’s little is to hide! Under the bed, in her closet, escaping to the terrace are all viable options.

The first time she hid, it was Thing that showed Enid where she was. Coaxing her out of the dark space between her bed and the floor was no easy task, but the look of anxiety in Wednesday’s eyes that faded into relief when she realized Enid actually wanted to help her was worth all the worry.

I saw another writer say that Wednesday would adore Sylvanian Families/Calico Critters and they’re so right! When Enid put a tiny black cat in Wednesday’s hand, her big brown eyes went wide. She takes it everywhere with her when she’s little, and therefore always likes wearing things that have pockets.

As her regression is involuntary and Wednesday hates feeling out of control, it makes her emotions come to the surface much easier. But that doesn’t mean that tears spill. Rather, Wednesday gets angry when her feelings are too much to handle. Whatever is near her will go flying, or her hands come up to roughly tug on her own braids. Once, she slipped during class and Xavier had to peel her hands away from her hair. He managed to calm her down by using his magic to bring life to the spiders she’d been doodling in her notebook.

She hates normal pet names but answers to anything along the lines of “little spook,” “doomsday,” (Enid felt very clever coming up with that one) and even “kitty cat.”

To continue with what I’ll call the Wednesday Cat Agenda, she adores her kitty ears that Enid had her wear for the big race. Black cats are the scariest of all felines, after all. (She knowledgeably told Enid this fact after asking the girl for help putting her ears on. Enid giggled and Wednesday scowled.)

Wednesday is a very mischievous little! She always manages to be somewhere she shouldn’t and have things that would be unsafe for someone else her age. Enid screamed the first time she walked into their room and found little Wednesday (and a Calico Critter standing on top of a very treacherous looking Lego tower) attempting to torch a fly with a lighter and hairspray. After that, Enid made Wednesday promise to tell her when she was feeling small. (A promise that Wednesday couldn’t always keep.)

After that night, you did your best to distance yourself from Eddie. He had a girlfriend now, after all. He didn’t need to be spending so much time with you anyways. You tried to see the best of the situation. Without Eddie, you had more time for yourself. Less chaos and more peace. Sure, you missed him talking about his campaigns and watching him struggle to write new songs. Sure, you missed his daily Lord of the Rings quotes and the way he liked to doodle on your arms when he was supposed to be studying instead.

Fuck. You really missed Eddie.

But it’s fine. This is fine. You finally get to really explore who you are and what you like as a person, a person without Eddie Munson attached to your side all the time.

Eddie was scribbling into his notebook more campaign ideas. A blunt rested beside him on the coffee table. Julie sat beside Eddie with a bored expression on her face.

“Baby, why don’t we go out? Take a break from that dumb game and let’s go party or something.”

Eddie scoffed, “Dumb game? Julie, Dungeons and Dragons isn’t dumb! It’s life! It’s adventure and problem solving and-“

“Okay, okay! No need to have a nerd freak out on me!” She got up from her couch and headed to the kitchen.

It’s been five months of them dating. At first everything was all fine and dandy. Eddie believed Julie to be the person he always dreamed of. She was a metalhead, hated the idea of conforming to society, loved to just chill out and let life take its course. But then he started realizing that maybe she wasn’t all who he expected her to be. She didn’t understand his love for DND and his club. She called him “a bit of a loser” for having a club dedicated to a “board game”. She always wanted him to play her some songs or try to write music. He was starting to feel like she was using him for something.

Eddie also realized how little he’s seen you since that big gig of his. He’d called you up a few times, inviting you out, and you’ve denied him every time. He’d show up at the diner to see you, only for one of your coworkers to take care of his orders instead. It was driving him crazy! You were his best friend and he’s felt like he hasn’t really been around you in a long time.

He sighs and closes his notebook. He pulls on his leather jacket and gathers his things, “I’m heading out,” he mumbled to Julie.

“Seriously?” She asked with a scoff.

“Can we please not do this?” He asked, “I forgot my Uncle Wayne asked me to take care of some shit, so I need to do that before he gets home.”

“Whatever,” Julie mumbled, plopping back on the couch and taking Eddie’s blunt.

Eddie saw himself out and got into his car. He left Julie’s apartment, heading back to his. He drove past Family Video to see you getting out of your car and heading inside the shop. He immediately stopped and swerved back around into the parking lot.

He entered the shop and stopped in the doorway to see you smiling and laughing Steve Harrington. What. The. Fuck.

His eyes narrowed as Steve grinned, leaning closer to you to murmur something in your ear. You laughed again and, for some reason, Eddie saw red, “What the fuck is going on?”

You jumped back when you heard Eddie’s voice. You cleared your throat and smiled at Steve, “Well thanks for holding this for me. I’ll see you around. Tell Robin I said ‘hi’!”

Steve waved at you, “See ya!”

Eddie watched as you walked passed him, “Faerie-“

“I have somewhere to be, Eddie.”

He continues to follow you to your car, “So you and Harrington are all buddy-buddy now?”

“Perhaps. Why does it matter?”

“Thought you didn’t have friends besides me.”

That made you stop and glare at him, “Fuck you, Eddie,” you murmured before unlocking your car door.

“Wait! That-I didn’t mean it like that! Faerie, please! Listen to me!” He called for you as you slammed the door shut and sped out of the parking lot.

Eddie doesn’t know how things went so terribly wrong between you two.

Glad to see the anons like their doodles:) Anyways...I think it's time for me to finally do the angsty ones. Daily Hobie HC! In all honesty, I feel like Hobie's can go- like, numb, if something happens that upsets him. It can take him a lot of trust to open up with his negative emotions/to cry in front of someone. Otherwise, he just stays quiet, kinda- yk, isolates, and overall just goes numb. Also he definitely got bullied as a kid- and I feel like that'd also stem into some of his thoughts as Spiderman now. For example, a personal hc of mine is that he absolutely hates the silent treatment. He'd rather talk it out that silence it to grow and worsen because as a kid nobody wanted to listen to him. And since nobody listened, I feel like he'd probably think, at a young age, that he didn't matter. I mean, he was the youngest out of his many siblings, and had to raise himself (from what I've read from multiple people- idk if it is actually true or not). Those thoughts probably twisted into a fear of abandonment, since he wants to matter as much to a person, like they matter to him. (I'm just self-projecting atp oh god) Little note- I feel like he would have a lotus flower tattoo either on his upper-arm/shoulder, or somewhere on his back. Look close enough and there's a little semi-colon hidden in there too. (I SHOWED THESE TO MY FRIEND AND THEY TOLD ME "Are you sure you're not just this universe's Hobie Brown variant?" ..I didn't realize I was self-projecting THAT MUCH LMAO) - 🐦‍⬛

They're in an open/polyamorous relationship and Hyde is also dating Utterson, hi Utterson \O. Adam and Utterson are very good friends <3

Hyde loves when Adam holds him but usually he won't ask to be and will instead just start trying to climb up Adam until he picks him up.

Adam is incredibly encouraging of all Hyde's indulgences, they both encourage each other to act without worrying what others think and to Adam? Hyde can commit a few felonies, as a treat. It's cute

Hyde initially avoided telling Adam that he was a scientist since he was afraid Adam would take it badly due to his relationship with Victor

Adam loves animals but animals HATE Hyde so he makes sure to keep them away from him for both their safety. He tried to keep a pet rabbit once and Hyde had to get 30 stitches

Adam is one of the only people Hyde has spilled his entire life story to, along with all the trauma of his childhood has Jekyll and nuances of his relationships with his family and friends, and all the pressure and stress and guilt that lead up to him creating Hyde in the first place. He actually surprised himself with how quickly he opened up to Adam but he just seemed like he could understand on a level no one else could, and he did <3

Hyde has a constant fear of abandonment and sneaks some of Adam's clothing out with him whenever he leaves so he can sniff it if he's feeling lonely. Adam noticed and started leaving out gym clothes for him.

Adam sometimes bends down to Hyde's level in public and whispers something that makes Hyde burst out laughing, falling on the ground and everything, making a scene.

Hyde has trouble sleeping because his form causes him to have a ton of increased adrenaline at all times, but Adam's tired he lets him hold him while he sleeps and Hyde spends pretty much the entire time awake and wide-eyed staring at the wall.

When Hyde does sleep he is a BED HOG, he somehow takes up more space than an 8 foot tall man and sleeps with all of his limbs out. He also takes all the blankets only to then ball them up underneath his feet.

Sometimes Hyde just wordlessly plops his entire body weight onto Adam and they lay like that for hours not saying a word

Hyde was a bit uneasy at first finding out about Adam's interest in religion but he actually ended up being an incredibly good source of comfort whenever Hyde would spiral due to his religious trauma

Adam likes to sing little songs to Hyde when they're alone <3

Usually when they fight it's a result of Hyde getting too riled up or overwhelmed and he storms off somewhere, only to come back later once he's calmed down and plonk down like this so they can actually talk about it (doodle by @internetwerewolf )

More specific to CC but Hyde buys all of Adam's clothes for him and pays for pretty much anything he needs, partly just to treat him right and partly just because he doesn't want him leaving to go work all the time

Jekyll likes to trace his fingers along Adam's stitching, usually he does it absentmindedly while theyre just cuddling/talking but sometimes he gets completely lost in thought studying them. He finds them beautiful and they're one of Adam's biggest insecurities but he's allowed to touch them <3

Adam teases Jekyll way more than he does Hyde, he likes how overblown his reactions get to it

Jekyll really likes the deep pressure stim Adam holding him gives when he's having a meltdown. they are so autism4autism

Gender Headcanon: i love transfem sigma so much. but also to me their.. idk "birth gender" is not the right term probably but like. the gender they were created as is not strictly male or female. it's sort of both and sort of neither. so transfem sigma to me isn't necessarily male -> fem-aligned; it's closer to intersex -> fem-aligned i guess?
