Something wet slaps Logan in the face, waking him up.

No, not again.

Please just let it have been a kneejerk reaction to a bad dream or something so he can just go back to sleep.

Another wet thing latches across his chin.

Fuck.

“Remus,” he groans loudly, refusing to open his eyes and acknowledge what is currently doing its best to crawl across his face. “Another one got loose.”

All he hears in response is a snore.

Still keeping his eyes closed, Logan hits his arm to the right, nailing Remus in the chest who wakes up with a breathless wince.

“What the fuck, Lo?!”

“Get this thing off of my face and back where it belongs so I can sleep,” Logan grumbles, pointing at the offender with the same arm he just slapped the other with.

“He’s not a thing!” Remus protests, offendedly as he gently pries the baby octopus off his boyfriend. “He’s a little blob and a precious one at that.”

“And he should be in the bathtub with his siblings and not on my face as I’m trying to sleep!” Logan complains, finally opening his eyes to squint at where he can just make out Remus sitting up next to him. With the light dimmed and his glasses off, he can’t make out much. “This is like the third time tonight. How do they manage to get out each time?!”

“They’re brilliant, aren’t they?” Remus laughs, delightedly.

“They should have remained in the Imagination where they belong and don’t interrupt my sleep.”

“But they’re so cute!”

“Irrelevant.”

“Don’t be so cold hearted, Starlight.”

Finally, Logan sits up as well, grabbing his glasses in the process. Putting them on, he can finally see Remus, holding the baby octopus in his lap and gently patting it.

“Look, Meus. I think it’s really sweet that you want to take care of them, but I have a lot of work to do tomorrow, Thomas is very busy and if I can’t help him organize tomorrow, he’s going to get even more stressed than he already is. And that, in turn, will stress me as well. I need optimal sleep and I cannot achieve that if I am woken up by another escapee every half hour!”

“I know. I’ll bring this guy back and make sure to enforce the door so they can’t get out again,” Remus agrees though he doesn’t sound enthused.

“Thank you.”

“But I want cuddles when I get back.”

“Yes, that is agreeable. Just hurry, please?” Logan dislikes how his voice could be interpreted as a whine, but Remus’ soft smile lets him forget about his embarrassing display almost instantly. His boyfriend leans over to press a kiss to his forehead and the small creature in his arms tries to use that to latch onto Logan once again, but Remus pulls him away quick enough.

“Now, now, enough playtime. You’re going back to bed, too,” Remus scolds him softly and disappears in the bathroom.

Logan sighs as the door falls shut behind him. He pulls the glasses off his face again and rubs his eyes before getting comfortable in bed again. He is about to doze off when the bathroom door bursts open and he jumps back up, staring at Remus with wide eyes, even if he can’t see him clearly.

“They’re gone,” Remus whispers after a moment of silence.

Logan can feel a headache coming.

“What do you mean ‘they’re gone?’” he asks, slowly.

“The octopuses. They’re not in the bathtub anymore.”

Logan groans loudly as he climbs out of bed. He’s going to kill his boyfriend, but first he’s got half a dozen baby octopuses to find.

Maxie gasped as his body raised up from the bed, he looked around him and realized that Sierra was calling for him and Archie.

He checked the clock. “4am? Sierra?”

“P-PAPA!!! D-DADDY!!!!” Sierra screamed again, even louder than the first time. This alerts Maxie, he knows that when she has nightmares, she usually comes up to his and Archie’s bedroom by herself and sleeps with them instead.

But this? Her scream sent him flying back to the bed, trying to shake his husband awake.

“Archie.. Archie! Wake up..! Please!” He got mad when Archie flipped himself around in his sleep. “Our daughter is screaming for us, damn it! Wake up!”

It was no use, Archie was out like a light. He was an extremely heavy sleeper. Maxie rolled his eyes and ran to throw his shirt and glasses on. He practically flew down the stairs almost tripping himself and opened Sierra’s bedroom door.

“Sierra? Honey, it’s daddy. What’s the matt- OOF!”

Sierra jumped up and tackled him into a hug. He was lucky he caught her, because he fell backwards to the ground. She whimpered and sobbed as he held her in his arms.

Maxie was extremely concerned now. What in the world did she dream about?Chills ran down his spine. He shuddered at the thought.

He hugged her close. “My little starlight… it’s okay.. it was a bad dream, none of that really happened, and I’m just fine. I’m not hurt.”

“D-Daddy!” The tears came back, and she wouldn’t let go. She snuggled into his chest, never letting her grip on him go. She was terrified.

“Shhh.. shh.. daddy’s here.. daddy’s got you.. Everything is going to be okay, my sweet emerald.” He kisses the top of her forehead while she continued to sob. “I’m here.. I’m here..”

“Yes, honey.. your papa is just fine. He’s just sleeping.” He grew more concerned when she hugged his neck, very tight, as if she was trying to protect herself from a monster. “My poor baby… it’s okay, now.. your papa and I will stay here with you. Ok?”

*sniff* “Okay, daddy. Y-you promise?”

“I promise, Sierra. We won’t leave your side. We’ll be right here with you all night.”

He sat her in between where he and Archie sleep. As soon as she laid down she clung onto her papa next, who was still asleep.

He groaned and laughed in his sleep while Sierra hung onto him. “M-Max, quit it… heheh.. y-yer tickling me..”

He rolled his eyes. “That’s not me, Archie. That’s our scared little princess.”

“H-huh?” He finally opened his eyes and saw his little scamp latching onto him. “Oh, Sierra!” He noticed all of her tears and whimpering. “What’s the matter, sweetheart? Why’s me little guppy crying?”

“P-Papa-!” She sobbed, hugging him more.

“Hey… shhh… it’s okay. Papa’s here, honey..”

*whimper*

“I tried to wake you up, Archie. But I couldn’t. She’s had a bad nightmare, and she’s terrified to be without us. So she can sleep with us tonight.”

Archie looks at her and hugs her back. “Me poor little scamp.. daddy and I aren’t gonna go anywhere. We’ll be here to protect ye.”

“P-P-promise?”

He smiled at her. “We both promise. We’re not gonna let anything happen to us, pumpkin.”

She held onto his hand and held his pinky finger. “P-Pinky promise?”

“Aww, scamp..” He nodded. “Pinky promise. We’ll stay here with ye.”

She hugged him. He smiled and pet her head, but looks at his husband concerned.

“Babe, what did she dream about?”

Maxie slipped himself back into bed. “N-Not now. I don’t want to bring it back up and upset her again..”

“Yer sounding like it scared ye too, love.”

“It d-did.. this sounded more like a night terror, and now the poor thing is traumatized. She’ll probably sleep up here for the next few nights.”

Archie held his daughter close, and thought of a way to cheer her up. “Hey, Sierra? Daddy and I aren’t going to let anything scary near ye.. ok? Ye know why?”

“W-why?”

“Because…” He smiled deviously, fingers wiggling. “I’m scarier than anything else around here! I’m the tickle monster!” He playfully growled.

“Eee!!” Sierra squealed and hopped into Maxie’s arms, giggling already. “Daddy! Save me!”

He chuckled at her. “I can’t, sweetheart.”

She looked up at him in mild confusion. “W-why not?”

He wrapped his arms around her and started tickling her sides. “Because.. I’m also the tickle monster!” He playfully growled.

“AHAHAHA!! EEHEHEEHEEHEHEE!!!DAHAHADDY!! NOHAHAHA!!” Sierra squealed in laughter, she was cornered since her dad’s fingers attacked both her sides.

She laughed even harder when he blew a raspberry on her stomach.

“PFFFFFFFFT-“

“DAHAHADDEEHEEHEHEE!!! NOHOHOHO THAT TIHIHIHIHIHIHICKLES!! AHEEEHEHEE!”

“Isn’t that the point, sweetheart? *inhale* PFFFFFFT!!”

*HIC* AHAHAHAHA!! ST-STAHAHAP IHIHIT!!! DAHAHAHAHADDY!!! *HIC*”

Maxie stops and smirks at Archie. “Come on, ‘tickle monster.’ Come get her. She’s all yours.”

“Let me at her!” Archie growls playfully. “Papa bear’s gonna get that tummy!”

“Noooooo!!! Heheheheheehehee!!”

Archie growls once more and tickles her stomach. “Now he’s gotcha..! C’mere, ye wiggly Wurmple!”

“Heheheheheeheheehehee!!!”

Maxie went back to tickling her sides. “She’s going to get the hiccups, Archie.” He chuckled.

“*HIC* Hahahaha- *HIC* PAHAHAPA!!! DAHAHAHADDY!!!!! STAHAHAHAP!!” Tears of mirth dotted her little green eyes.

“I told you.”

“But the tickle monsters wanna hear ye laugh after bein’ so scared, emerald!” Archie teased. “Tickle tickle tickle! Our little bundle of giggles!”

“We just want to see your precious smile and make you feel better. We don’t want you to be scared.” Maxie smiled. “Tickle tickle tickle!”

“HAHAHAHA!! *HIC* AHAHAHAHEEHEHEE!! NAHAHAHOHO- *HIC* AHAHEEHEEHEEE!! *snort* DAHAHAHADDY!! *snort* PAHAHAHAPA!!” She squealed.

“Awwww!” Archie cooed. “She snorts when she gets tickled, just like her daddy!”

Maxie smacked him. “Shut up. I do not snort.”

Archie smirks and sneaks one of his wiggling hands up his side, earning him a snort right off the bat. He eyes Maxie deviously, who covered his mouth. Archie gets another smack upside his head.

“Ye don’t snort, huh? Ye liar.”

*blush* Sh-shut up.”

“Dawwww~”

They both stopped tickling Sierra, and watched her collapse back on the bed, curled in a ball and giggling still. Maxie picked her up and kissed her forehead.

“Heehee!”

“Our sweet little girl, we won’t let anyone hurt you. We’ll always be here to protect you.”

“That’s right, Princess!” Archie added. “And if they try, we’ll beat em’ up!”

Maxie glared at him. “Archie…”

“Whaaaat? We will! No one will harm our baby!”

Sierra giggles. “I love you, daddy. I love you, papa.”

They both smiled, got in between her, and squished her in a big family hug.

“We love you too, Sierra.” They both said, turning out the lights and getting in the blankets. “We’ll see you in the morning.”

*yawn* “Okay.. night night…”

Also im up past my bedtime cause my sleep's been messed up but we just won't tell daddies.

Aaravos would be a cheater using magic to make me get sleepy. or just talk in that deep rumbly smooth voice that makes me all comfy... and it puts me to sleep.

Arven would say we'll just cuddle but he'd make me warm milk with vanilla an stuff an he'd play with my hair. He rocks me gently too so i cant help sleeping.

Nori pets my hair and tells stories real soft and hums til im asleep. he holds me extra close when i dont wanna sleep cause he knows i just need daddy and dont wanna be alone.

For Sam/Max and Hannah/Staci 👀💙

Hannah and Staci don't have too many nicknames, "Stace", "Han", he's very fond of "baby" for her.

Max will call Sam "Love" a lot, and Sam uses that for Max as well. He calls her "Captain" in bed. (It's actually Phineas who wins for most nicknames for Sam, that include "Stardust", "Starlight", and "My dancing star", all said with the most fatherly affection Halcyon has ever heard).

I think the only time Hannah and Staci would fight would be right after escaping Jacob, while she's trying to deprogram him and he's just freaking out. POSSIBLY well after everything is said and done and she leaves Joseph, and she's trying to wrestle with her trauma bond and how to handle the twins. But at both those points she can use her Psych degree to keep everything calm.

Hannah's big on making sure they sit down and discuss what happened and reaching an agreement that way.

(Though I did have a plot bunny for like, Staci being in with Eden's Gate the whole time, he and Hannah fall for each other, then she finds out and it's A Whole Thing (because Joseph also wants her and everything in Hope County belongs to the Father, after all)).

Sam and Max...have never fought. Aside from the Chaney thing which wasn't even a fight. Their longest discussion was about having Izzy.

Fearless: I don't really listen to Fearless enough to have a major fav, but I do enjoy Breathe, Bye Bye Baby, Fifteen, and Mr Perfectly Fine

Speak Now: Sparks Fly was my fav from the first time I heard it, but I do also love Long Live

Red: Holy ground, vibes-wise is probably my fav, but I do also love Starlight

1989: Wonderland and New Romantics, and every other song also on 1989 (esp the vaults)

Reputation: For some reason DWOHT right from the start really stuck with me, but I do also love Dress and TIWWCHNT (so petty)

Lover: Miss Americana is great, so is Paper Rings, however False God is my absolute fav from lover, and maybe one of my top overall

Folklore: The Last Great American Dynasty, becasue I am a history girlie and cannot resist lore in songs, and Betty because it is such a good song

Evermore: I love Tis the Damn Season, it's just so fun to dance around to

Midnights: Maroon. And Vigilante Shit because that performance oh my god. midnights overall is so good tho I don't have a single song I dislike

As for other fandoms, I'm currently slowly drifting out of Marvel, re-emerging into Percy Jackson because of the tv show, trying to get into Dr Who, and I love Good Omens. Oh and I'm also very big into Eurovision, despite not being European.
