I’m baaaaaack!!
Anxiety’s One Hell of a Problem III
It’s Thanksgiving and Conrad’s coming home for the weekend, along with his brother and the Conklin’s. His father is unable to come, to his own relief and though he has school work to do during that time, he knows it’ll be one of the better thanksgiving he’s had.
He’s riding with Jeremiah—suggested by Steven to have some “one-on-one sibling bonding time”—to the beach house. The ride isn’t long but being that long in a car with his brother who’s now dating the love of his life is going to be…difficult, to say the least.

The sun is shining, just bright enough to bring warmth to the car’s seats and Jeremiah’s arm which is rested on the bottom of the car’s window sill.
The silence is deafening. And incredibly awkward for both of them. Jeremiah notices out of the corner of his eye, Conrad’s speedy yet consistent tapping on the steering wheel.
Conrad has found that if he keeps his body moving—some way somehow—the thoughts move to a more manageable speed and his the vibrations throughout his body are less stinging and more calming.
Ever since he started seeing his therapist, Dr. Han at Stanford, his anxiety has been more manageable. From breathing techniques to body stimulating, he’s doing much better. Besides a few slip ups that have occasionally turned to attacks, he’s okay.
“So…how’s school going? Good?” Jeremiah says, awkwardly. Jeremiah isn’t awkward. But somehow, he’s awkward right now.
“It’s good. The workload isn’t too bad. Oh, by the way, I might have to do some homework this weekend but it won’t be anything too bad.”
“Homework? During Thanksgiving?”
Conrad pauses. He’s already thinking. If he were to not to homework this weekend like Jeremiah will soon suggest, he won’t get his assignment in on time. Of course, he had last night to it, he was out with a friend of his he met at group therapy. Maybe he shouldn’t have done that. Oh, God…
“Yeah. My classes are fucking crazy right now. It won’t be too much, promise.”
Jeremiah sighs, frustratedly.
Conrad’s tapping speeds up, his other hand tensing on the steering wheel.
“Can you stop that fucking tapping? It’s driving me insane!”
He stops and begins squeezing a loosing his hand to match his heartbeat.
Conrad takes a couple deep breaths before he says, “Jeremiah, I know sometimes I don’t communicate stuff but I’m doing it—or I’m trying to—protect you.”
“Like how you didn’t tell me about mom’s fucking cancer?”
“No, I—“ Conrad feels his eyes welling up with tears. “I’m sorry about that. I really am.”
“I know you are.”
“I..uh..” Conrad pauses, focusing on the beating of his heartbeat. “About two years ago, something changed. About me.”
“What do you mean?”
“I started getting these, uh, breathing problems.” He clears his throat. “And things just got harder. After I found out about mom’s cancer.”
“Breathing problems? What are you talking about?”
“Panic attacks, Jere.”
Jeremiah didn’t say anything. He just paused and looked at Conrad’s eyes that were glued to the road.
“After my first one, I thought that maybe it would be over, y’know? Like it was this one time event but it wasn’t and they just kept happening and as mom got worse, they just got worse and I didn’t know what to do and—“
“Conrad.”
“If I wasn’t actively having a panic attack, I was always overthinking something or worried that it would happen again.”
“Are you still having…them?”
“Not as much.”
“How often were they happening?”
“Few times a week. Maybe 4 of 5.” Jeremiah winces at that. To think that he blamed Conrad, calling him an asshole, weak when this entire time he was hurting like this.
“When was the last time?”
“Not for a few weeks.”
“God, Conrad. Wait can you pull over?”
Though confused, he listens and directs the car to the side of the road, near a small forest area nearby.
“What is it—“
And before Conrad could finish his thought, Jeremiah wraps his arms around him into a tight embrace. “I’m so sorry, Connie. I wish I knew that you were hurting like this. I would’ve tried to help you. I really would’ve. I’m sorry.” He let’s go and looks him in the eyes. “You know that, right?”
“I know.” Conrad nods and gives him a reassuring smile. A real one.
And with that, they were back on the road.
It wasn’t exactly like how it used to be but maybe it was better.

I wonder what a rick and morty gravity falls corossover would be like? Morty just dragging around these two kids trying not to traumatise them.
As a funny I think dipper and mabel would be having the time of their lives while Morty is so worried that Rick is gonna give them so much trauma (they’d be besties tho). I also think Rick, Stan, and ford would be pretty decent friends. Stan and Rick would just be goofing off, and ford and Rick could get along by talking abt sciency shit (they would totally try to impress and seem smarter than the other)
As an actual plot line, I think Morty would start to notice how different his relationship with Rick is from how it is with the gravity falls group. It’s turn into a bit of internal conflict where Morty starts to wonder if Rick actually cares abt him (I mean he does already but it’d be more prominent here) and Rick would have to be nicer to make Morty feel better (he’d definitely be getting advice from Stan and ford)

Impossible Exodus: Iraqi Jews in Israel

Between 1949 and 1951, 123,000 Iraqi Jews immigrated to the newly established Israeli state. Lacking the resources to absorb them all, the Israeli government resettled them in maabarot, or transit camps, relegating them to poverty. In the tents and shacks of the camps, their living conditions were squalid and unsanitary. Basic necessities like water were in short supply, when they were available at all. Rather than returning to a homeland as native sons, Iraqi Jews were newcomers in a foreign place.
Impossible Exodus tells the story of these Iraqi Jews' first decades in Israel. Faced with ill treatment and discrimination from state officials, Iraqi Jews resisted: they joined Israeli political parties, demonstrated in the streets, and fought for the education of their children, leading a civil rights struggle whose legacy continues to influence contemporary debates in Israel. Orit Bashkin sheds light on their everyday lives and their determination in a new country, uncovering their long, painful transformation from Iraqi to Israeli. In doing so, she shares the resilience and humanity of a community whose story has yet to be told.

Birthday gifts!!!
WAAAAAAA IT'S SO MUCH KWBROAJFIS I didn't expect to receive so many gifts (I love all of them), I was already very happy that people were there greeting me and accompanying me, since for me for some reason my birthday is always… complicated (? It's not usually the day that I like the most ;u; but they managed to encourage me so much that day and I had a very nice time! Because of the greetings from the people, receiving so much love, made me feel that life was worth living, I know I shouldn't be thinking about those things but sometimes one's mind has its little bad things and the fact that so many people show you their affection, take their valuable time for you and keep you in mind feels very nice 🤗💕.

A 70 years old Israeli farmer has been killed by Hezbollah rockets fired from Lebaon at Israel. May his memory be a blessing.
The death toll of the IDF ground operation in Gaza is now at 87.
Following the US congress discussion on antisemitism, where the presidents of prestigious universities couldn't clearly define calls to genocide the Jews as bullying and harassment, an Israeli professor at Standford, Jonathan Levav, who has lived there for years, and who said he's raising his two kids as typical American teenagers, was interviewed by his journalist friend in Israel. He talked about the fact that since Oct 7, he has felt antisemitism in the US and on his college campus in a way he never has before. "I would rather be in Israel right now," said the professor. "Really!?" asked his journalist friend, his voice making it clear that he's completely astonished. After all, our lives are currently under threat from several fronts. The professor reaffirmed the sentiment. "It's better to be hit by rockets in the face, than by knives in the back."
Here's another reminder that "Free Gaza from Hamas" isn't just a slogan, we're actually listening to people in Gaza who are pleading for a better life, and to even have a future:
And while some Gazans suffer immeasurably under Hamas, this terrorist organization's leaders and those affiliated with them live like kings. Better than most Israelis, in fact. The IDF revealed receipts for purchases made by Hamas people of luxury items, including jewelry. A single receipt was sometimes for a sum of money equivalent to two years worth of work on Gaza's average salary. Among the receipts found, were ones for purchases made by the son of Hamas's leader, Ismail Hanyieh. While Gazans suffer the consequences of Hamas' massacre of innocent civilians in Israel, Hanyieh is living in a luxury hotel in Qatar. Hanyieh's personal wealth is estimated to be 4 billion dollars, roughly 4 times greater than Taylor Swift's (Google says she has a net worth of 1.1 billion dollars).
Dozens of men in Gaza turned themselves over to the IDF today, they were arrested, not killed, a reminder that all Hamas needs to do for everyone to live is surrender.
The following infographic is a bit outdated (from roughly 3 weeks ago, I think), but it shows how much more attention the dead in Gaza get, than the dead anywhere else in the world, in conflicts far bloodier. Even more than in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. So what stands out about this, what makes everyone pay more attention to dead Gazan civilians than to dead Ukrainian civilians? My personal guess is that it's not the Gazans themselves. When Palestinians are killed by other Arabs in Lebanon, Syria or Jordan, no one pays attention to them. When Palestinians are killed by their own leadership, whether Hamas or the Palestinian Authority, no one talks about it. What changes suddenly, when Israel is a part of the picture? My guess is that it's the fact that then, it can be used to attack the Jewish state, excuse the massacre of Jews, and inspire attacks against Jewish people all over the world. Even on the campuses of the most prestigious US universities.
Why do I bring this up now?
The UN secretary general had been silent on the rape of Israeli women for almost two months following the Hamas massacre, had barely talked about Hamas' war crimes, had failed to talk about Hamas' use of Palestinians as human shields, and his workers had collaborated with Hamas for years, in turning a blind eye to Hamas' use of UN schools and hospitals to attack Israelis from, as well as since the Oct 7 massacre, in holding an Israeli kid hostage without providing him with enough food.
This man is now invoking article 99 of the UN charter.
This article allows him to call a special session of the UN security council, based on his concern for world peace.
He did not use this article during any other conflict, no matter how bloody. Not during his years in office while the civil war in Syria continues to rage for over a decade, with hundreds of thousands killed, and millions displaced. He did not invoke it during the war between Russia and Ukraine, which has claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people on both sides in less than two years.
Or let's put aside at the number of victims, and look at the possible risk to world peace.
The global power that is Russia is in the middle of a war, with all the allies it has, and the places where it exerts its influence, such as Syria, and all the countries that are looking at Russia, waiting to see what they can learn from the war's results, and that doesn't make the UN secretary general concerned enough for world peace to call a special session! I'm not even going to talk about the geopolitical results of the war in Syria, which was a training ground for Islamists from other countries as well (for example, we know Hezbollah's terrorists returned from the war in Syria with more military experience than anything they got before). But that wasn't concerning enough!
There's so much that was said over the years about the UN's anti-Israel bias, but it feels like this one really takes the cake.
Once again, the only conflict involving the one Jewish state is also the only one getting disproportionate attention, which essentially (please excuse my language, but I am angry) fucks over every other victim of every other conflict. Never forget that antisemitism doesn't just hurt Jews, there are non-Jews who pay the price for it as well.
On the first night of Hanukkah, there will be 138 hanukkiot (Hanukkah menorahs) lit at the Western Wall, the same number of the hostages who are still being held in Gaza. (this is a small reminder that Hanukkah is a Zionist holiday)
This is 25 years old Gal Meir Eizenkott.
It was published just minutes ago that he was killed in the fighting in Gaza. Gal is the son of Gadi Eizenkott, who is currently an Israeli minister, and the former IDF Chief of Staff. NOBODY in Israel is sending the soldiers off to fight without a care in the world. Pictured below is Gal with his dad. May his memory be a blessing.
These are 3 years old Emma and Yuli Kunyo, twins.
They were held hostage by Hamas. We know now that at a certain point, Yuli was separated from the rest of her captured family, and kept alone. The two girls were released in the hostage deal, together with their 34 years old mom. Today, these girls were discharged from the hospital. They still don't have a home to return to.

Make your FREE time worth it.
Pro TIP: add every intentional class to your resume.

Hal-hal negatif, kekecewaan, ancaman, kesedihan, dan masa kritis dijelaskan menurut beberapa penelitian lebih banyak mengandung unsur nilai adaptif dalam memberikan gambaran kepada otak manusia dalam menghadapi hal-hal di masa depan.
Jadi ya gitu, barangkali kenapa sendu perlu dieja? Karena (sendu) layak juga dirayakan, disimpan, dinikmati dan dibagikan untuk saling mengingatkan bahwa 7.9 milyar manusia masih sama-sama hidup dan nggak bisa mengelak momen-momen menyedihkan di samping hal-hal yang membuat tertawa lebar.

Hi!
I come here today looking for a Supernatural rp (the show). More specifically, Destiel.
I'm 26, so please be 20+ to interact. Length of replies is not relevant to me as long as you give me something to work with. I answer once a day, if I'm too busy maybe once in two days. Endverse development, meaning going from "free to be you and me" and seeing how the world develops into the one from "The End" if Dean had never seen that future and changed it

Vampire Dean x Mark of Cain Cas from that one alternate universe Chuck showed Sam
Omegaverse "Soulmates" AU where Dean and Sam have their soul marks in Enochian but their soulmates turn out to be Michael and Lucifer so it's another step of fate Destiel has to overcome
omegaverse AU where alpha Cas accidentally marks omega Dean as he raises him from hell so now they're bonded and have to deal with that and their respective missions at the same time
