What do you think Jesus's first word was?
JOKE-OGRAPHY:
1. "Annunciation" (announcing something) and "enunciation" (pronouncing something) are two words that sound very similar, so I took the Biblical Annunciation (when the angel Gabriel announced Christ's birth to Mary) and set it beside an imagining of Jesus pronouncing -- or enunciating -- His first word. I alluded to this pun a couple weeks ago in a previous cartoon's description, then decided it ought to have its own comic.
2. My sisters suggested "Abba" as Jesus's first word. I thought it was perfect, because it's a plausible first word for a baby, since it's made up of simple syllables -- like "mama" or "dada" -- but it's also got that Son-of-God vibe to it.

They're the Lord's most fearsome fighting team!
They're heaven-sent to thwart the devil's schemes!
When those evil demons attack,
These holy hosts don't cut 'em no slack!

JOKE-OGRAPHY:
1. This is a parody of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" featuring the three Biblically named archangels -- Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael -- posing in front of their masked demon nemesis!
2. Angels are created beings, so they're not eternal, but they're outside of time, so they're not temporal either. Instead, they're called "aeviternal". Some angels are described as having many wings and eyes, so in the title, the word "aeviternals" is covered in wings and eyes.
3. The poses and cover composition are based on the cover for the videogame, "Shredder's Revenge".
4. While there are more archangels, the canonical Bible only names three, so those are the only ones Catholics refer to by name.

Sts. Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael the archangels. Personally, Raphael is my favorite
HUH. This actually presents me with quite the conundrum. The angels aren't human beings, so they're not saints in the traditional saints. They're not canonized, but lots of saints weren't canonized.
If we get more votes for them, we'll add the archangels to the bracket! Send in propaganda if you want to see the archangels :)
